    Getsu City/Bishoujo City, Getsu

Getsu City, also known as Bishoujo city, is a large city on Getsu Island. It is one of the largest islands in the world. Being that it is in the North Pacific Ocean, the dominant culture on this island is Japanese, with a slight American influence in the fashion sense and food culture, and a higher population of foreigners than Japan. On first glance it looks like a calmer version of Tokyo and New York City, but it's much more spacious. It is also the home of the Elite Magical Girl Academy, which is hidden away on the outskirts of Getsu City.

The farther you go out from Getsu City, the more green you'll begin to see. There are plenty of farms, villages, and beautiful beaches once you leave Getsu City. Unfortunately, the countryside can be even more dangerous than the city, with Youma hiding in the surrounding forests and often attacking small villages freely. It is where ancient, rare Youma are said to hide.

    On Campus Locations
Note: Try not to have too many character's congregrating in the same area! :) These spots are mostly for character socialization, but may become key points in the rp at some point.

  • Posting Rules
    1. When posting, use your character's name as a header and their location.
    2. During battles, do not autohit NPCs. This includes Youma and Magical Girl.
    3. No metagaming or Godmodding, at all. If you have permission to do so from the Player, then this is fine.
    4. No collaborative posts, unless two characters are on a date , or something similar and there is no risk of another being around.
    5. If you are inactive without word for two weeks, then you will be dropped and your character will be taken control of by me. Posting IC means you agree to this rule.
    6. No sex scenes within the IC thread. And definitely no sex scenes with people not in your age range.
    7. Intermediate writing standards are expected in this rp, and I will accept no less than a paragraph(5-7 sentences) for IC posts.

    Combat Rules
    1. No Auto-hitting or taking control of a Youma. This is mainly for plot purposes. If you were to take control of one of the enemies this may be interrupt plots or ideas we have in mind. Also to keep the fights balanced and to make sure everyone gets their fair share of butt-kicking from the Youma. You are welcome to direct a hit at a Youma, but do not say the attack has landed, until the person controlling the Youma acknowledges it as fact. Youma Players reserve the right to say a Youma's attack has landed on a character, to kidnap players, or anything else that enemy characters may do. This is, again, for plot purposes. Rest assured we won't ever inflict fatal wounds on your character without your consent, and if we plan to
kidnap or do anything similar to your character we may inform you first depending.

    2. Be reasonable. If your character has already used a couple of attacks that require a decent amount of power or more advanced utility skills it will show. Their energy is not infinite. I'm going to give people freedom to pick their skills and attempt to dodge/evade/attack, but ultimately whether something affects the Youma is up to
the Youma player to keep things fun, fresh, and fair.

    3. The first time you use one of your character's spells, please provide a description of what it does in your post, or include it in a spoiler tag. This will make things easier on everyone, especially the Youma players.

If Renata had been quiet before she had gone on the mission, she was even quieter now. She was alive yes. A miraculous feat according to the hospital nurse. "You're lucky that this traumatic experience hasn't transformed you into a Youma. You're strong." Strong, right. So strong that she had lived while two of her teammates had perished at the hands of a Youma. So strong that when the headmistress asked her what happened, she had sullenly recounted the tale instead of bursting into tears. For some reason people seemed to think strength was not sobbing violently after experiencing such a horrific event. And Renata was happy for this belief. She was happy that no one had heard her sobbing into the hospital pillows as the deaths of her teammates replayed over and over in her mind. She was happy...Because that meant she had another chance. Another chance to achieve her dreams and to not screw up.

She was amazed that she wasn't expelled for the shit she pulled. But then again...The only people who knew...were dead or so injured that they were prisoners of their own mind. The truth was...Renata had always wanted to be the leader of her team. She felt that she deserved to be captain and yet, Aimee was chosen instead. Chosen to be the leader of the blue team even though Renata didn't think she was fit. Aimee was naive and easy to manipulate. She had grand dreams of become an Elite and she had the interesting talent of making people as ambitious as she was. So it didn't take much for Renata to convince her that the key to her becoming an Elite was for the team to disobey orders and kill a Youma way above their pay grade. They were supposed to go after a low grade Youma who was stopping people from traveling down a particular road. Instead Aimee told Valencia, whose power included invisibility, to sneak into their instructors office and find a file on a Youma who used to be a private bodyguard.

It had been a quick and efficient slaughter. That's what the former bodyguard was known for. Swiftness and efficiency. The Youma dispatched Aimee's head from her body with little to no trouble. Then it disemboweled Valencia and while it slurped down her entrails, Renata and her teammate Haruhi ran for their lives. Haruhi tripped during their exit and the Youma grabbed her by the leg, swinging her around the room like a rag doll while Renata cowered under a pile of debris. Too afraid and selfish to leave by herself, Renata struck the Youma with a trident blast, giving Haruhi the chance to teleport out of the Youma's grasp and out of the mall with Renata in her arms. Both girls had blacked out after that and woken up in the Bishoujo City Hospital. Renata assumed that a more experience team had been dispatched to find them after their instructor had realized what they'd done.

Now Renata sat in her room staring at a group picture of the disbanded blue team, wondering if she really wanted to try this again. Her mother and father had come to see her in the hospital but instead of begging her to transfer to military school, they simply asked her if this was the life she really wanted. The reverie of her in Royal Knight garb flashed in her mind and she nodded and they'd accepted her answer and left it at that. She kind of wished they had forced her to leave Elite anyway, but that wasn't their style. Before she had left the hospital, Renata had gone to visit Haruhi but the girl was practically a vegetable. All she could do was stare at the wall. It sickened her but Renata was kind of glad, for this meant that Haruhi could never tell anyone why team blue really disobeyed their orders. She couldn't tell anyone that it was all Renata's fault.

Shaking her head, Renata forced herself to stay in the present and place the photograph on her nightstand. Lying face down on her bed, she did what she always did when she was feeling like crap. She began to daydream of her future life as a Royal Knight.

Samantha – Purple Team – Village -> Heading back to the Academy

"-have no idea how much this means."

"H-haha, its fine, really."

"No, you must understand how much easier the entire village will rest knowing that Priestess Shiko has finally passed on to peaceful slumber." The village elder bowed once again, which was only made Samantha's flustered expression that much worse. "Everyone here is indebted to you girls."

Samantha was never the type to shy away from praise. Indeed, to say she lived for the praise others lavished her with would have been a colossal understatement. Indeed-indeed, she had been pretty eager to hear the praises sung about her for completing her very first assignment.

Now that she was actually there, however, she wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. She was glad that person they had set out to help seemed so pleased with their work, certainly, but the compliments given to their feats felt… unearned. How could they accept the gratitude of every soul in the village in any kind of good faith, when a large part of their success lied in the fact they were simply lucky? They had barely scraped by, and the Youma they had fought hadn't even been fully transformed yet; if it had, they would have likely suffered worse casualties, if not been dead entirely. Still, there were a few matters that needed attention before Samantha became too introspective.

"Are you sure you don't want us to stay and help retrieve Shiko's remains? Or any of the other bodies scattered about the mountain?" Samantha offered, gesturing between herself and the nearby Angela. Admittedly, she felt like she was about to fall asleep where she stood, so a part of her kind of hoped that their help would be turned down. It seemed like fortune favoured her in this regard at the very least:

"I'm certain. Many of our people still do not yet feel closure to this dark chapter of our lives. Maybe this is just thing they need to finally put it behind us."The older man, nodded. "Besides that, I couldn't possibly ask anymore from you four Elite students."

Samantha tried to keep her expression from falling, really she did, but it was pretty clear from the old man's sudden concern that she must have failed. It only took a second for the elder to catch on, and his expression became all the more sombre for it.

"…Your fallen friend will be in our prayers, alongside Shiko and all those that have been lost." The elder inclined his head. "I wish I could offer more, but know that you have my deepest condolences."

"Ha, I'm sure Aki would have been overjoyed with that alone, right Angela?" Samantha turned to give the other magical girl a rueful smile, though even that failed to reach her eyes. After a moment of silence, Samantha made a show of checking a pocket watch that had been hidden deep within the folds of her dress. "Well, we've kept the van waiting long enough. We'd best be off."

After thanking them for one last time, the elder finally saw the two girls to the door. It wasn't long after that Angela and Samantha were wandering through the village, making a slow journey to the van.

Samantha half wanted to pick up the pace: while the elder had said that everyone in the village owed that a debt of gratitude, you wouldn't really get that impression from the some of the looks the twosome received on their trek to the village's edge. Most simply stared at them with a trepid kind of curiosity, but there were a few full on suspicious glares thrown in for good measure. Conversations stopped when they walked into view, and cautious whispering started in its place. Samantha didn't exactly blame the populous, since the magical girls had walked back into the village looking like hell and carrying a dead body, but that didn't mean that she couldn't also want to vacate the area as quickly as possible.

The worst of it had passed when they finally reached the outskirts of the village – the van finally within sight – when Samantha had slowed to a stop. Turning to follow a tick of movement in the corner of her eye, Samantha raised brow when she realized it had just been some old woman gesturing the two of them. Checking over her shoulder to make sure that this wasn't some kind of mistake, Samantha peeled off, cautiously approaching the elder woman. There was something oddly familiar about the old crone.

Wait…sitting on a half rotted stool…outside of a dingy shack…giving an EXTERMELY flat look, like you'd just said the stupidest thing she had ever heard…

Wasn't this the woman the group had received directions from, at the very start of this miserable day? What the heck could she want?

Samantha had stepped up to the woman very much like she had before, namely at the pace one normally uses to step closer to an animal that's liable to be spooked off. Likewise, the old woman gave Samantha the same unimpressed look she had been shooting at her when the group of magical girls had just arrived at the village. For a long, silent while, the two simply looked each other dead in the eye. The woman seemed to be sizing Samantha up, like she was trying to read her entire character by just looking at her face, while Samantha herself was just trying to stand her ground.

After what felt like an uncomfortably long time, the old woman finally nodded, and reached into a aged bag next to her stool. Samantha blinked in surprise when her stare off opponent produced a small bracelet, and blinked in surprise again when the accessory was handed to her. The gift was a simple little number: the material of the twine itself was coarse and rough, and the only adornments were small rocks and pebbles. However, it was clear even to Samantha's untrained eye that it was handmade, and it seemed that a good amount of care had gone into its creation.

"Is this…some sort of good luck charm?"

The old woman, at length, nodded.

"Oh…well, thank you. Thank you very much." To Samantha's own surprise, she was actually being sincere.

The woman's expression barely shifted, remaining very much an impassive mask, but Samantha thought she spied the very smallest upwards quirk of the woman's lips.

Suddenly feeling like she had somehow let her guard down, Samantha cleared her throat and gave a polite curtsy before quickly running to catch up with Angela.

Not a minute later, that remaining members of Team Purple were situated inside the van. No one had said anything, and Samantha didn't really blame them, since they were all likely exhausted enough to fall asleep on the ride back. While the last minute preparations were being made (including the pretty grim task of making sure Aki's body was prepared for travel), Samantha idly thumbed her latest gift. It wasn't something she would exactly wear, and she wasn't sure if she bought into whole 'good luck item' thing, but maybe it was worth keeping. At the very least, it could serve as a reminder of…everything that had happened, on this first assignment.

Samantha looked out from the van's crystal clear windows, out over the mountain's edge, across the wide expanse of land to the city just in view, and let out a sigh.

"I hope the others are doing alright…"

Miss Airhart
Courtyard

"All valid points..." Miss Airhart nodded her head in understanding, as she didn't want to totally undermine the girls. They were very clearly distraught, and the fact that they really weren't thinking with their heads became even more evident than before. Miss Airhart appeared a bit perplexed. If she had heard correctly, the girls were under the impression that the other magical girls would be turned into Youma. At the very least, when a magical girl dies her body is brought back to the academy to be purified if no one else had the skill to do so. That meant the others had left their bodies behind, which wasn't uncommon, but frowned upon by pretty much everyone. Still, one couldn't expect the best decision making from a group of fifteen year olds.

"I think it's best you three stay on campus. You don't have to listen to me, but as I've said before, the headmistress will have to be notified if you choose to pursue your fallen allies," Miss Airhart said gently. She looked at Carmen, then continued speaking."If you're patient, you may wake up tomorrow to find that the situation has already been remedied."

With that said, Miss Airhart gave the girl's a firm squeeze on the shoulder before walking off. She trusted that her words had made some sort of impact on any one of the girls. All she needed was one person to go against the grain to talk the others down from the ledge. She had her own team to meet with now, but by the time she had finished with what was left of the mint team and the other two girls the dinner bell was sounding loudly across the campus.

Aozora Miyuki
Orchards -----> Dinner Hall

Miyuki had to admit that Ava was turning into some sort of friend to her. They seemed to enjoy some of the same things, and Ava always seemed willing to tag along with whatever plans Miyuki had in mind. Miyuki wasn't so sure about the other's just yet, but she couldn't hate a girl who had saved her life, could she? "I think Mina is the only one equipped to give you kisses at this point, Ava." Miyuki replied, smirking. "Stealing kisses seems to be her MO."

The dinner bell rang and Miyuki looked around as groups of girls poured in from every which way. Some of them looked horrible, others were beaming like herself. She knew that not everyone would have had a successful first mission. Somehow the four of them had walked away victorious, but if there was going to be a casualty it would have been Miyuki. That was a hard pill to swallow, especially as Miyuki looked into the faces of those who hadn't been so lucky. It was that thought that made her feel guilty for teasing Mina.

"But, who doesn't love magical kisses, right?" Miyuki added, as they entered the dining hall.

The smell of food and warm fall decor instantly lifted Miyuki's spirits. None of the lines were too long, since the academy always served a variety of food and the dining hall was spacious. Instead of tables they had rows of picnic tables and benches, but like everything else at Elite it had an elegance and expensive feel to it. Students could easily sit with all of their friends at once, while still leaving enough room for those who would rather sit alone. While she hoped that at least Ava would sit with her, she wasn't going to assume any of them planned on sticking around.

Angela Christie
Back to School
Reporting in!

The moment she'd stepped foot inside the van, Angela had moved straight to the back, plopped in her headphones, and cranked the volume up as high as she could without hurting her ears. Although she didn't really show it in her actions, she wanted to get the events of the day out of her head any way she could. For some girls, that meant getting high or getting drunk, but for Angela, that just meant filling her head with so many songs that she remembered those instead of the murderous half-youma they'd fought.

And, for the most part, it worked.

Angela managed to block out Aki's death, Kano's injuries, and Samantha's exhaustion, but she couldn't block out the fact that she'd used one of her stronger abilities against the youma. The missing energy hadn't completely recovered yet. She should've been more active. She should've used stronger spells. She should've opened with Stormwall and just crushed that witch between the Colossal's hands. Instead, she'd sat back and watched. She was like that all the way back to the academy, where she was last to get out of the van and head for the office.

Kokuyo Kano - Elite --> House B
The ride back to Elite was silent, as Kano expected it to be. The driver and his colleague from the school made light chatter, as if there wasn't a dead body in the back of their van. The brunette sighed, letting her forehead rest against the cold glass of the window before shutting her eyes. One particular talent Kano had was blocking out noise that wasn't important, she'd learned such a skill when she was a child. Being able to cancel out her mother's dronings had been a life saver of her sanity. Not to mention it made time fly by. Before she knew it, she felt the vehicle softly jerk to a halt and her eyes snapped open. She was the last to exit the van, not because she was down or worn out, even though she was, Kano just wasn't in the condition to fire her muscles so rapidly.

The fibers in her legs and back were already starting to throb with any tiny movement. A turn of her neck sent lightning bolts down her right shoulder and she could feel her muscles cramp every time she tried to move too fast. When she finally got out of the van, she exhaled slowly as the other two members of her team just lingered for a moment, as if in awe that they'd made it back at all. Green eyes glanced at Samantha, who looked more exhausted than anyone, and at the heartstone she was still clutching. Kano sighed again, before slinging her saber over her shoulder and walking off, back towards House B.

"You'll want to take that to Miss Shizuka, Sammy." Kano said as she glanced over her shoulder. "Unless you want to hang on to it and see if it corrupts your own stone." Sometimes Kano just couldn't help but take a jab at Samantha. Either way, the brunette stifled a chuckle before lifting her hand in the air as she walked away. "Be seeing you, teammates, but hopefully not too soon."

It didn't take too long to get back to her house, and Kano was relieved to see it. She needed a shower and a nap, possibly some food. The stairs were...a feat. Her legs refused to work at the rate of a normal teenage girl her age. She winced as she used the railing to aid her and her quads burned with every step. Thank whatever omnipotent being that her room was only on the second floor. As she reached the landing, she exhaled and walked at a faster place towards her room. She unlocked the door and dropped her saber against the wall before flopping onto her bed. Perhaps the shower could wait.

Carmen

Courtyard-> Dining Hall

"They won't be forgotten, then. That's all I wanted." Carmen was surprised by the dinner bell. Gee, is it that time already? My, how time flies when you're disgracing yourself.

The dining hall was already bustling by the time Carmen got there. She picked out her food and sat down by herself. If someone joined her, that was fine. If she wwas left alone with her thoughts, that was fine, too. As long as nobody asked her to the dance later that night. Between her clumsiness and her mental state, she was going to make a fool of herself, no doubt about it.

Xiomara Jimenez → Caracara
Courtyard → Dining Hall
@Shavynel

Caracara watched silently as Miss Airhart and then Carmen departed their little powwow, leaving her and Ce to stand near the fallen bodies of her fellows. Quickly deflating Caracara dismissed her ghostly mount and transformed back into Xiomara, trying to scrub the tears from her still puffy eyes. "They're right." She mumbles to Ce, sitting heavily down on the grassy ground beneath her. "It would be useless to go. It's stupid. We can't save them." She herself wasn't certain if she was speaking about Carmen's allies or her own anymore.

She glances up at Ce, exhaustion written all over her face. "Thanks for listening to me, I appreciate it. I'm going to wait for our instructor to arrive and help me with..." She looks over her comrades but can't bring herself to mention purifying their bodies. The Youma's heartstone still weighs heavily in her pocket. "You know." She finished lamely, barely able to summon the energy to look up any more.

The dinner bell rings but she doesn't move. It seems like a betrayal to go eat and pretend nothing is wrong while her team lay here on the ground. The crow she had called to earlier circles above, hoping for food after being summoned. It croaks it's cry across the courtyard, echoing just a bit as girls clear out and head for dinner.

When their instructor does arrive, everything is taken care of in a quick and orderly fashion. Men with gurneys arrive to take the bodies away, while Xi hands the heartstone over to her teacher. She doesn't want to be anywhere near it anymore. Her instructor tries to be kind, giving her a hug and encouraging her to go to dinner.

Xiomara, still with blood in her hair and sand under her fingernails, marches off to the dining hall, following the suggestion as if it had been an order. She plops down at the first table she sees, not even registering who else might be there. Her mind is elsewhere, going over the battle again and again. Trying to pinpoint what she could have done differently.

Charee Moreau - Pink Group - Elite Academy Courtyard to Dining Hall

"Wait till I get you three back for that little joke."

As expected Ava wasn't particularly happy about the 'little joke'. Charee probably would've been more frightened if she hadn't predicted Ava to lash out; as it was, Charee had already started mentally preparing herself for the possibility of revenge from the moment she misspoke. Thinking about it, it would probably be a good idea to try to appease Ava before she enacted any sort of possible revenge. The last thing Charee wanted was to be the one who started a rift between the group- even if it meant being nice to Miss brAvado.

For now though it seemed there was a cease-fire, as all of the girls' stomachs called out for food. Even for a small girl like Charee a fight against a Youma worked up a great appetite, and she was looking forward to a fruity treat after their first victory. Tucking the hearthstone her shirt pocket, Charee chased after Miyuki and Ava as they entered the hall, eyes widening at the grandiose layout. She was used to such an elaborate layout after two years at the school yet it still stunned a her little every time she saw it... plus it offered an excuse to look cute in awe. With a little twirl Charee looked around for people to sit with: she didn't really feel like fixing things with Ava just yet, presumably Miyuki would sit with Ava, and Charee wasn't ready to sit alone with someone so eager to hand out kisses.

"Maybe I could sit with a few other girls from my dorm house...?" Charee pondered aloud.

Renata bowed elegantly in front of the Queen, her trident secured on her back and her cape billowing out behind her. "Although you are just a rookie, I must bestow upon you my greatest thanks for rescuing me from that Youma." Renata said nothing and simply gazed at the Queen with respect and modesty. Usually she would be reprimanded for doing this but since the Queen was wearing a veil, it was okay. The royal descended from her throne, and flicked the veil behind her head, revealing the disfigured face of a Youma, who's lips were puckered for a kiss---"Nooo--aaah!" Renata shrieked and shot up in bed. Somehow during her daydream, she had fallen asleep and her beautiful, mesmerizing day dream had turned into a nightmare.

Rolling out of bed, Renata smoothed her uniform shirt and took a few moments in the bathroom to clean herself up. She was so groggy and horrified by that dream that she didn't notice the dinner bells were ringing. "Finally! Time to gorge myself into a food coma and stop thinking about everything." She said to herself, feigning happiness. Her sister Teresa once told her that if you looked happy and acted like it, soon you would really be happy. Taking that advice, Renata plastered a smile onto her face and headed towards the dining hall.

As she entered the room a mixture of smells wafted into her nostrils and she almost started drooling. One of the best things about Elite was the food variety and quality. Unless you were an alien that only needed sunlight to live, there was a food for everyone. Spaghetti, biscuits and gravy, latkas, fufu! If it was food, it was there and Renata had a hankering for fried rice, lo mein and chunky chocolate brownies!

After she piled her plate high with the targeted food, she settled down at one of the tables near the entrance and began to shovel the food down. She wasn't a picky eater, so she didn't mind that her rice and noodles began to converge. Or that she had just consumed a bite of brownie slathered in soy sauce. She was too eager to eat herself into a food coma to notice that conflicting tastes but when a girl plopped down next to her with blood in her hair, Renata suddenly found it hard to keep her food down.

"Wh-what? A-ugh!" She gagged. "Umm--I don't know if you've noticed but you've got a little--" She gestured at the girl's head and clothes. "...Stuff on you."

Samantha had tried to convince herself to not fall asleep; there was too much to mediate on, too many thoughts and emotions that she needed to come to terms with before she allowed herself to do anything else.

But every second was proving a challenge. The gentle rocking of the van as the vehicle meandered it's way back to the academy, the humming of its engine sounding like a mechanical lullaby, was proving to be nearly insurmountable. Every limb of her body felt weak, and her eyelids were growing heavier every second the pleasantly warm air conditioning washed over her. Admittedly, leaning her head against the window and pulling her legs up to rest under her chin was probably only contributing to her problem.

…So very tired.

She wasn't getting any thinking done. It was taking all she had to try and just stay awake. Hell, it wasn't like falling asleep would e bad thing: they had quite a ways to go, and she would probably be able to concentrate better when she got back to the academy anyway. Maybe just five minutes of sleep was exactly what she needed.

Letting out a slow, relieved breath, Samantha let her eyes drift shut. All the tension finally left her body, and her mind at last stopped whirling. One final breathy sigh gently escaped her as sleep-

"Hey!" A voice from the front of van, shortly following the sound of the engine suddenly ceasing, spoke up. "We're here!"

Samantha forced one eye open, and saw to both her relief and annoyance that they were indeed back at the academy.

The sooner this day ended, the better.

With a groan that didn't befit a young woman of her status, Samantha clambered out of the van; rubbing her eyes she stepped out into the bleary light of day. Despite the complaints from her sleep-depraved mind and aching joints, she was actually fairly glad to be back. The expansive grounds of the school and the general chatter that filled the air as students went about their day lifted Samantha's spirits. It reminded her that, for all the madness she had just went through, the world was still very much as it had always been.

That sentiment became a litter bit harder to maintain, however, when Samantha reached into the folds of her dress to retrieve the calcified Heartstone, followed shortly by Aki's fading Heartstone. Holding one in each hand, the magical girl looked between the two, struggling to decide which the harder one to hold was.

"You'll want to take that to Miss Shizuka, Sammy. Unless you want to hang on to it and see if it corrupts your own stone."

Samantha almost jumped a foot into the air, whipping around to shoot a half-terrified glare at Kano's amused expression.

"Be seeing you, teammates, but hopefully not too soon."

And with that, the Kokuyo girl began to make her way to the dorms, steps as sure as they had been before this day had gone south. Despite her heart still beating at the sudden shock, Samantha found herself reaching out for the girl's already far away back.

"Kano, I…"

Slowly, Samantha lowered her hand. She was what? Glad that Kano had been on her team? Sorry about how things had turned out? Neither seemed like sentiments that would impress the much tougher girl. It was probably a good thing that Samantha hadn't completed calling out for Kano, and had just let her get on her way.

Sighing, Samantha turned in thought to gaze at the sky, while saying aloud

"Well, it looks like it's just you and me now, Angela. I know I didn't say anything before, but I'm glad that I got put in a team with you. It was reliving to know that I had someone I already trusted watching my back, on this first mission of my life. I… don't really say it enough, and indeed foolishly act like it never happened sometimes, but I was always grateful to how you helped me during my first few years here. Truly, I rank you among one of my best-…Angela?"

Samantha turned to see Angela was already half-way up the main building's steps, headphones in.

"…Right. Sure." Samantha began to plod along after the other girl, fighting off the urge to face plant against the ground and to just wait until it was officially tomorrow. "Good talk."

The school's corridors was already bustling as the twosome made their way towards Miss Shizuka's office, students from all years going to and from. Samantha followed a few feet behind Angela, lacking both the motivation to catch up and still feeling the embarrassment that her grand speech's audience had consisted entirely of a brick wall.

Just when she was certain she couldn't feel any more miserable or sorry for herself, the diner bell rang. The resonating sound of the bell going off seemed to reverberate through Samantha's entire being, and all at once her previous thoughts of sleep paled in comparison to just how bloody hungry she realized she was.

Samantha's stomach let out a growl akin to a wild animal fending for its territory. Fighting off the urge to just drop everything and march to the dining hall, Samantha run to catch up with Angela, expression twisting into a pout.

"Angela," She whined, "can we hurry up? I keep a very strict dietary schedule, and it's time to eat!"

Xiomara Jimenez → Caracara
Dining Hall
@Mundane Monster

Xiomara had slumped into her chair and had been staring at her hands since she sat. She feels so totally, completely empty. There are no more tears in her body it seems. Now she's just cold, isolated while surrounded by many. How were her friends gone? They should have been sitting next to her right now, going over the fight play by play and psyching themselves up for the next one.

When Renata spoke to her it took Xi several moments to process what had just been said. She looked up sluggishly to meet the girl's eyes before looking back over herself. "Oh... lo siento." She muttered, picking up a napkin from in front of her and dipping it into a cup of water. She tried to wipe the stains from her skin, but dried blood is much more stubborn than that.

With a sigh Xiomara puts the napkin back down and drops her head to the table. Utterly defeated she covers her head with her arms. "Excuse me. I'll leave in a moment." She said from beneath her hands. "I don't mean to bother your dinner. I hope your day has gone well." She's on autopilot it seems, spouting polite phrases to Renata but not looking up to see if they've met their mark.

Mina Strand - Dinging Hall

Mina just laughed off the whole threat, if that's what it was, from Ava. Turnabout is fair play, but she wouldn't lose sleep over it either. "Yeah, we'd deserve it," she said. "That was in pretty poor taste."

She continued laughing at Miyuki's assertions. "Hey now, I try not to steal a kiss unless I have to. Still, you're right to be wary, just ask around." No real point in hiding the fact that she wasn't someone to be trusted with your personal space, as far as Mina saw it. "Just remember, I only pick on people I like."

The mention of food caused a quiet rumble to escape from Mina's stomach. "...Food sounds good right about now." She tagged along with the others. "I hope they've got some steak." She always had a craving for some nice, red meat after a good fight. She just winked at Miyuki at her last comment about kisses.

She quickly split off from the rest of the group and started looking for the best options. She browsed around for a good while, piling up more food than one would usually expect for one person. Her eyes weren't bigger than her stomach, even if she'd piled on a good amount of meat, potatoes, and vegetables, and what looks like at least two desserts.

Where to sit would be the difficult thing. She looked around for a free seat, not particularly aiming to join any given group, and ended up taking a seat by herself. Mina didn't waste much time before digging in, so a lack of conversation options certainly wouldn't hurt her any, lest she choke while trying to wolf down a meal and talk at the same time.

It surprised Sequoia, just a bit, that Carmen was willing to let it go with that, so much so, she hadn't quite been ready for the ghostly mount to disappear, signalling that Caracara had transformed back, too. Well, if that was what Carmen wanted, who was she to go against that? Ce transformed back, the leaves of her dress wilting away into the wind. "They'll be remembered," Ce promised, rubbing Xiomara's shoulder just a bit, that sort of absent-minded comfort close friends might offer one another, except that they'd never really been close.

"I should probably go check in, or something," Ce admitted. "But, uh, find me any time, okay?" And with that, she gave Xio one more squeeze before pulling away. It looked like others were returning to campus, too, though more as teams than individuals, which meant it was time to face her own, slightly less morbid troubles. Ce went back to grab her duffle, not exactly looking forward to facing the fact she was late.

The lady that worked the counter wasn't exactly amused either. "Cecelia Hartell?" she had asked, looking at a clipboard and not at all at her.

Ce nodded sheepishly. "Yes?"

"You're late." And to that, she had no rebuttal. "We've reassigned your room."

"There's got to be some room free." Unlike a lot of the other girls who left a good chunk of stuff over the break, Ce traveled light, and lived light. It was really mostly a matter of their family not having a whole lot to begin with. Add on top of that the fact her parents weren't exactly the biggest fans of her choice of school... Well, it was like they had figured if they made a point of not getting a rug or decorations, maybe she'd come home. It meant her room was always spartan, something she'd always been a little embarrassed about, but for once, it was turning in her favor. It meant she didn't care at all where her room was, so long as there were the standard dorm issued floor and walls and windows.

"Well," the lady flipped a page, and made a mark, and spun around to grab a key off the wall. "2G then."

"Thank you," Ce said emphatically, taking the key and id, and repeating the room in her head lest she forget it. 2G. 2G. 2G.

This also meant she completely missed the wry look the lady working the front desk was giving her, and the chuckled, "Honestly?"

Ce took the stairs up to the second floor two at a time, duffel heaved over her shoulder. And then hung a left, which was the same as before, so at least she wouldn't make that turn wrong. It was only when she stopped in front of 2G that she realized this was exactly the same room as she had been in before. "Really?" she muttered, jamming the key in, and jiggling it because that keyhole had always been a bit finicky. A new room might have been nice in that respect. But seeing as it wasn't a new room, and everything was in the layout she had perfected, there was nothing left for her to do but toss in her duffel and leave again.

It was, after all, dinner. She pulled back out, just in time to see a flick of hair disappear into another room. And since Ce honestly could not imagine why anyone would miss dinner, she went to investigate, knocking on the door frame of 2E, with a, "You know it's dinner, right?"

Kokuyo Kano - House B --> Dining Hall
@Shavynel
Kano must've passed out as soon as she had hit her bed because she'd dreamt of Lady Shiko. It wasn't a nightmare, per se, but it wasn't pleasant. There was no noise, no speaking. The woman had just been standing there, a bloody mess with the wounds that Samantha's knights had inflicted on her. She was just staring at Kano, and no matter what Kano did, she couldn't speak either. It wasn't until she heard a faint knocking in her dream that she woke up. She groaned when she did so as well, her body's pain sensors reawakening as she lifted her head and looked towards her doorway to see a girl with dark hair and curious eyes. Again, Kano groaned before putting her face back in her pillow.

"I wasn't aware." She mumbled, when the inquisition of dinner was asked, not sure if her answer was heard through the pillow. Though Kano didn't care much, her body needed to heal more than she needed to eat. And healing meant resting, but then, as if on cue, her stomach grumbled...loudly. "Timing is everything." Kano managed to push herself off of the bed and winced. Her muscles were stiff, probably from lying down for however long she had. The first rule of healing muscles and joints was mobility, which she had completely ignored due to fatigue. When she finally managed to get to her feet. She sighed, collecting herself before addressing the girl in the doorway with a serious glare. "Are you new?"

Kano admittedly, didn't really care, but the girl was still standing there as if to make sure she actually left her room. So, as she always did, Kano reached down (carefully) and grabbed her saber that was resting against the wall and attached the holster to her waist. Her stomach grumbled again, almost painfully and Kano sighed before moving towards the door, exiting and shutting it behind her. Still noticing the dark haired girl not moving. She was shorter than she thought, by a few inches, but Kano was lying down when she first saw her. "I take it you're going to the dining hall as well?"

Angela Christie
Towards the Banquet Hall
For the Sake of Samantha

Angela's headphones were good at keeping out a lot of things, but the food-induced whining of Samantha wasn't one of them. She'd heard enough, though, so she stopped her music and took her headphones out with a smile. "Kano didn't say where she was going, right?" she asked. "So let's go get dinner at the banquet hall and wait for her there!" She quickly grabbed hold of Samantha's arm--without the other girl's consent--and quickly turned round down the steps, running toward the banquet hall. "So what do you think they're cooking for us? I hope it's not seafood."

Seafood was far from Angela's favorite. She could tolerate some stuff, like tuna sandwiches and tuna casserole, but most seafood was pretty much off limits. She didn't know why, she just did not like seafood. Samantha, on the other hand, loved the stuff. In their three years of being neighbors, one of the few points of contention between them was their differing opinions on seafood.

Regardless, the banquet hall wasn't far, and it only took about a minute to get there. Now all that was left was to find wait for Kano, whatever it was she was up to.

Ava-Rose was definitely not the type of girl who sat by herself, when it came to anywhere. Especially in a Dining Hall or any food related area. Only losers sat by themselves when they ate. Flipping her pink hair over her shoulders, as she went to grab up her food. Making sure it was freshly cooked. "You did just cook this like two minutes ago right? I can't go around eating poorly prepared meals. It's not good for my diet." Rolling her eyes. Not really expecting to eat anything on her plate. She would be too busy talking someone's ear off. While they ate, she would be talking. "Thank you..." Turning around and spotting Miyuki. Who was sitting not that far from where she was standing. "Perfect." The only girl in Elite that The Ice Princess liked enough to NOT insult every chance she got.

Blocking another girl as she tried to take the seat. "I don't think you want to sit there. It's for your own good." Staring daggers into the poor girl, who bolted the other way. Huffing in a triumphed manner. Putting her food down and fixing her skirt, before taking a seat. Sliding her food a few inches away. Turning slightly to be facing her friend. "Hey girly girl." Giggling at the nickname she just now came up with for Miyuki. "So, tell me." Holding her chin, as if she was uncovering some mysterious puzzle.

"Do you and Mina go out now or something?" She nonchalantly blurted out. "I bet you thought I didn't see that kiss she gave you." Bursting out in laughter. "I was busy beating that little brat, but I always see everything. Remember that." Shaking her head. Looking at the other girls enter and exit the dining hall. "Wow, some of these girls look like garbage. And I'm not even talking about the ones that failed their mission." Turning back to Miyuki. "Back to you, girly girl." Playfully pushing her shoulder. "Are you and Mina a "thing" now? That would be soo cute if you were."

Making annoying kissing noises. "Oh my gosh. your name could be, Miyina!" Trying to stop the giggles from coming out. "I have to be your Maid of Honor if you two get married." Ava-Rose was truly having fun bugging Miyuki like this. The other girl reminded Ava-Rose of her friends back home a lot. She would soo have to introduce Miyuki to her friends and vice versa. "You can tell me the truth." Looking around the dining hall. "No one is listening." Holding back more laughter that was trying to come out.

Samantha – Dining hall

Samantha had never thought she had any capacity for juggling, but when Angela had started pulling her towards the dining hall she had made a pretty impressive spectacle of fumbling the calcified Heartstone in her free hand while also nearly losing her footing. Managing to just grab the stone and pull it securely against her chest (rather worryingly, the corrupted Heartstone seemed to be beat in time with her actual heart), Samantha shot a confused glare at the back of Angela's head as they hurried through the halls.

"I meant we should- excuse me!" Samantha's tirade was cut off briefly when she only barely dodged running head first into another student, but returned in full force. "-should hurry and drop off the calcified Heartstone, since I'd rather not be carrying around this thing willy nilly! I'm pretty sure my stomach can hold out that long, at least."

At that exact moment in time, her stomach decided to reveal its traitorous nature, and rumbled with embarrassing clarity. The sound lasted a solid two seconds, during which Samantha was fairly sure every drop of blood in her body rushed to her face. At the same moment in time, the girl felt all of her convictions to get to Miss Shizuka be replaced with the desperate need to eat something sweet and sugary.

"…On second thought, your totally right, let's grab something now." After a moment's hesitation she added. "Also, bugger off: I hope it's nothing BUT seafood."

It wasn't long before the two girls pushed into the dining room, an almost physical wall of delectable smells and tastes drifting through the air to greet them. To Samantha's delight, there was indeed a selection of fish on offer, as well as a small confectionery cart pushed into one corner of the grand space. If just returning to the school's grounds had eased Samantha's heart somewhat, standing in this familiar hall was truly soothing. The presence of the calcified Heartstone hidden on her person, however, stopped the magical girl from feeling truly at ease.

"Let's not bring up the fact we're carrying two potentially dangerous Heartstones." Samantha leaned closer to Angela with a subdued volume. "The last thing we want is to cause…a…scene…?"

…Did that girl have bloodstains on her?

Just sitting there, pretty close to the entrance, was a girl that looked like she had been through hell and back. Questionable bloodstains, covered in dirt and sporting a faraway expression, she was the very picture of a haunted individual.

"…Well, I guess our first mission could have gone worse." Samantha said at last, doing her best to look everywhere but where the unfortunate girl was sitting. It was more than slightly cruel of her to ignore the plight of this other girl in favour of simply rationalise her own, Samantha realized. But it wasn't hard for the young aristocrat to imagine that it could have been her, or indeed any member of the purple team, in the very same spot if the mission had gone even worse.

It was a pretty sobering thought. Team purple's first foray into the dangerous world of fighting Youma hadn't exactly gone perfectly, for sure. But the old adage that 'there was always someone else worse off than you' was evidently a very true one, especially in these life and death situations.

All at once, Samantha recalled the names and faces of the girls that had helped her to carry her bags in on the first day. They had all been in the same year, hadn't they? That meant all them would have set out on these same dangerous missions, all facing potential oblivion. Samantha wondered, with a creeping sense of dread, just how many of those same girls were still among the living…

Perhaps appropriately, Samantha happened to pick a familiar face out of the crowd just as the thought finished passing through her mind. And it was a face that she was glad to see alive and well.

"Charee?" Samantha blinked, before smiling foolishly. "Hey, Charee!"

It took some ducking and weaving through the congested dining hall, but Samantha managed to push her way to Charee. She came this close to throwing her arms around the shorter girl, though that desire was as much born from relief as it was from Charee's general effect on Samantha.

"Hey, it good to see you, dear!" Samantha said when she finally reached the other girl, smiling as she came to stop. "I can only hope your mission went successfully? At the very least, you-…Oops, hang on."

With a small amount of embarrassment, Samantha turned briefly around to wave back to Angela, gesturing for the American girl to approach. Following that, she quickly returned her focus back to Charee, speaking with sincerity as she said,

"My goodness, it's just a relief to see you suffered no major injury. Come come, you must tell me everything while we get our food and seats in order."

Renata had been so shocked by the sudden appearance of something out of a horror movie that she didn't realize who she was next to. Upon further inspection she realized that the girl was Xiomara Jimenez. Renata didn't actually know her personally but she knew that she had family in the military profession, so she felt a certain kinship with her that she hoped would be reciprocated. Plus seeing a fellow magical girl covered in blood was bound to evoke some feelings. She resisted cringing as the blood began to remind her of her most recent incident.

"Okay, uh, you know what, food can wait." She said, pushing her plate away and gingerly wrapping her arms around Xiomara, trying to pull her off the bench. "Let's get you cleaned up, no offense but you're probably traumatizing everyone in here. Plus I don't think you should be around many people right now, trust me." She murmured, attempting to guide the other girl to the door. She paused for a second and grabbed an uneaten brownie. "Actually, chocolate always helps, so you can eat it after we get you cleaned up."

Charee Moreau - Pink Group - Elite Academy Dining Hall
"Charee? Hey, Charee!"

Charee jumped at the sound of her name being called out, spinning around to see Samantha pushing her way towards her. The raw enthusiasm on Samantha's face made Charee's heart skip a beat, and she couldn't stop herself from beaming back at the girl.

"Hey, it good to see you, dear! I can only hope your mission went successfully? At the very least, you-…Oops, hang on." Samantha's rambling was cut off briefly to beckon... Angela, it looked like?... before she dived straight back into her verbal flood. "My goodness, it's just a relief to see you suffered no major injury. Come come, you must tell me everything while we get our food and seats in order."

It seemed Charee had left an impression upon Samantha from how eager she was seeing Charee again, making Charee proud to have earned the girl's curiosity. Looking down at the ground blushing as if embarrassed from the attention, although really loving it, Charee contemplated if Samantha would be able to handle a hello-hug. Ultimately deciding yes, Charee flung her little arms around Samantha for a couple of seconds, before bouncing back to her original position.

"I'm glad to see you're here safe and sound too Samantha! Plus you of course, Angela," Charee greeted, giving a little wave to Angela before going back to Samantha, "Eheh, y-you really want to hear about my mission? W-well you've got to tell me all about how your mission went too then!"

Out of the corner of her eye Charee noticed Mina wolfing down on her food. Whilst Mina appeared happy enough simply cramming as much food as physically possible into her mouth, Charee couldn't help but pity the fact the girl was sitting alone. Tugging on Samantha's sleeve with one hand and pointing to Mina with the other, Charee looked up at Samantha with wide eyes.

"Ah, is it okay if I get Mina to help with the story-telling? I-I mean, I don't want her to feel left out..."

Ce could not suppress quite suppress her amusement as the other girl's stomach rumbled. "Yeah, seems like you did know after all," she chuckled. "But no, I'm not new, not really, anyway. Although I did just get in, so there's that. Missed the first mission and all," she half-mumbled, half-sighed. And the way the other was moving suggested that she had been rather active. Ce couldn't say she was exactly envious of the stiffness, except she was. Kind of.

It was really when the other girl picked up the sword that things finally clicked. This had to be Kokuyo. Sure, they were at a magical girl school, and carrying around swords was not uncommon, but carrying one while untransformed was still an anomaly. That was, however, the extent of what she knew about the other.

"Ah! Yeah..." Ce exclaimed, startled out of her revelry, happy for the comment and taking it as an invitation even if it wasn't. "That's where dinner is," she added sort of sheepishly, in that way one said lame things when one couldn't actually think of something important to say. "Shall we?" And with that, she started heading for the dining hall.

"I'm Ce, by the way. Short for Cecelia Hartell," she introduced as they walked since even if she had figured out who Kokuyo was, it was rather evident that Kokuyo hadn't. Or maybe the other girl had now that she was more awake. But just to be sure, Ce figured.

She glanced at the sword one more time. "Were you out on your first mission?" she inquired.
