Name: Sera

Original Race: Nül
Current Race: Athys

Gender: Female

Age (apparent): 18
Age (actual): 51

41 yrs as a Nül
10 yrs as an Athys

Abilities:
Phasing
Invisibility
Shapeshifting
This is Sera's retained trait. She able to shapeshift into a multitude of creatures, but they are not as fearsome as other Nül. She is also able to do partial shape shifting. She is unable to accomplish Empathic shape shifting.

History:
The first thing it noticed was the silence; that and the darkness. It was told that this place was called the Divide. It wandered, exploring this new 'home'. It wandered for who knows how long. There is no way to tell time in the Divide. The only thing it could do is keep going. And that is what it did. It searched through the darkness; what it was searching for, it didn't know. Then slowly a light came into view. The light was blinding in the darkness it had become accustomed to. As it drew closer to the light, it became clear that what the light held was as completely different place than the Divide. It watched the happenings of the little world beyond the window. It watched for a long time, years perhaps. It wasn't totally sure how time worked in this world. Soon it wanted to be in this world. It reached out to touch it and there is was, now in the world it had been watching for so long. The Realm of Mire.

It explored the realm, not that many could see it. It came across a girl. She seemed to be fighting with one of the many creatures of this world. She jumped forward to grab a bag that was beneath the creature. It moved closer to see what she was doing, but the girl had already transformed her legs to jump away from the creature. It followed the girl, the creature soon losing interest. The girl stopped after long, the Synthos continued to follow her after that. As it watched her, it started to feel the desire to experience what this girl was feeling. Even now, the Athys doesn't remember what the Synthos said to girl. But from that day on, the girl ceased to be and Sera came to be. Sera would be the name she chose for herself later.

Sera chose to travel around the world of Mire for a few years, letting the memories the body held be her guide. She soon learned that she was a bit friendlier than most Nül, well at least the few that she's met. She tended to stay away from Mireshrine because of this reason. Soon the news of Omnibus academy spread through Mire, and Sera being the overly curious as she was, soon she was in Mireshrine. This would be the first, last, and only time she would ever travel there. There was news that a royal would be traveling to the academy, and Sera planned to go with her; whether she liked it or not. She used her abilities to hide on the ship, phasing to avoid being caught.

Personality:
Sera is a bit more outgoing than most Nül. She is rather curious, probably getting her into a few more troublesome situations than she should have. She doesn't mind being in groups and tends to make herself friend with other whether they like it or not. She does have a bit of a temper, but it takes a lot to get her to blow her top.

That moment when your character sheet requires 4 separate ages. Looks good, and seeing as Eruantien gave it a 'Love', I imagine that counts as a seal of approval. Welcome aboard the "overly curious" club.

...aaaaand, another unique room. Sera will be in room #508.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Name singular: [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Langumosix Arcanus[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Name plural: [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Langumosix Arcani [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Powers/Abilities: [/BCOLOR]All Langumosix Arcani have the ability to speak any language so long as they have heard of it, and any other powers are based on the individual's ancestry or environment.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Lifespan: [/BCOLOR]Between 600-1000 years, although some Langumosix Arcani have managed to live longer.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Physical description: [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Langumosix Arcani are a somewhat feline-looking race, with large eyes, fang-like upper canines, claw-like nails, and slender feet. Their pupils may be vertical slits like those of a domestic cat's, but some individuals have round pupils like wild cats or humans. The average height of a Langumosix Arcanus is 5'6" (about 167 cm) for females and 6'0" (about 182 cm) for males. Their skin is incredibly soft and smooth, and some individuals may have certain markings (anything like a birthmark to "tiger stripes") that may indicate certain roles they will play in their society. Their ears are at least slightly pointed if not elf or fairy-like, sometimes just having the ears of an animal (such as a bat or leopard) instead. Depending on their region, some may have adaptations such as antlers/horns, long tails, poisonous skin, or other things that will help them live as long as possible. As for hair and eye color, there really are no boundaries.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Some may also have extra extremities or facial features, like two sets of arms or three eyes. This is very rare, though, and was more common thousands of years ago. They go through six major physical changes in their lifetime, the landmark ages being 30, 100, 170, 240, 310, and 380 (in human years, it would be 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, and 38). After these major changes, they do not show aging and mainly die due to the loss of their personal power(s)/magic. Their senses are heightened for survival, sight and hearing usually being the most heightened. Langumosix Arcanus has a very light body, and when they walk it isn't likely their feet will make very much noise.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The race has two hearts, although they can live with just one (more info in the "Other" section). Langumosix Arcanus has four stomachs, much like a cow or koala, to digest certain food. They aren't picky eaters in the slightest; as long as it will sustain them, they will eat it.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Cultural description:[/BCOLOR] Langumosix Arcanus is a race that regards wisdom as the (or rather, one of the)best qualities one can have, and most have a nearly insatiable thirst for knowledge. Philosophy and all forms of art are commonly practiced. Although Langumosix Arcanus praises mental strength, physical strength and health is also greatly recognized. This race could be compared to Earth's ancient Athenians, at least in the way they think. They are fairly peaceful beings, and look down upon any sort of unnecessary violence. However, if threatened, they are perfectly capable of attacking and defending themselves.

[BCOLOR=transparent] [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Written down, the race's personal language resembles a mix of hieroglyphics and the Roman alphabet. There are about 100 symbols, some being letters and some simple words. When the language is spoken, it is a series of clicks, chirps, and purring noises. Each letter has a different sound that goes with it (e.g. a, making the "uh" sound, has a high-pitched chirp that stops abruptly).[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]For the most part, they are very secretive creatures. Usually, a Langumosix Arcanus will not trust anyone from outside of their village or even bloodline. Their trust [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]can [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]be gained, but it will take much effort and persuasion. This does not, however, mean they won't hang around others they don't trust. A Langumosix Arcanus is more likely to fool others into believing they are trusted, and then extract information about their life so they know nearly everything about them. These creatures (usually) don't intend harm by doing this, but knowing what exactly is going on with someone or what they've done in the past provides comfort.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Langumosix Arcani are quite manipulative. This works well with how they extract personal information from others, although they may also use manipulation for other reasons (to get their way, fool another into mating, etc.). Along with that, they are a bit cold towards others and rarely display their emotions. Besides this, they aren't exactly the best at reading emotions either. They are anti social when it comes to interacting with anyone that is not of their kind, not necessarily because they are afraid of other races but mainly due to the fact that they are selfish with their knowledge and culture. Langumosix Arcani are usually perfectionists, acting overly meticulous with everything they do. This includes their appearance, causing them to seem at least a little vain or narcissistic.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Magic (or magick) is spread throughout all of their culture and history. It is used to explain their realm (Thaum) and the way it functions, and although that may be silly to apply to Earth, their realm is, quite literally, made of all sorts of magic (explained below in the "Realm" section). [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Realm:[/BCOLOR] Langumosix Arcanus is mainly from an island country in the realm Thaum. Like Earth humans, they started out in one area and spread over time, soon inhabiting basically all of Thaum's land. Thaum is split into four basic regions: Tundrus, Sumosus, Autus, and Sprousus. Each region's climate reflects one of the four seasons (winter, summer, autumn, and spring) and houses many small territories and countries. (Extra History: Langumosix Arcanus began in the Autus region, which has less severe cold climates than Tundrus but is also not very friendly to new life. Since it resembles Autumn, the region is forever frozen in a state of slow decline. (The decline lasts all year, being closest to Tundrus in the 12th month and closest to Sumosus in the 1st month.) Because of the semi-unfriendly conditions, the first Langumosix Arcani began moving around in an attempt to find a better place to live.) Each region has many different interesting species and races inhabiting it, all of which possessing magical or supernatural traits.

[BCOLOR=transparent] [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]There are two moons, one being slightly smaller than the other. These two moons (Tsudante being the larger one and Ikizo being the smaller one) are believed to represent a mother and child. They have opposite waxing/waning schedules, Tsudante being full when Ikizo is new. This is thought of as Ikizo's birth, and as the smaller moon waxes it is "growing up". The larger moon, or "mother", would be waning at this time, signaling her aging as she raises Ikizo. When she is new and Ikizo is full, the child is fully grown and may now live without their mother. Usually, coming of age rituals will be held when Ikizo is full. If young is birthed when Tsudante is full, it is said that the child's gained powers will be incredibly strong.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent] [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Most Langumosix Arcanus remain in Thaum, not wanting to interact with races from other realms or share any of their knowledge or culture. Some have come to Earth out of curiosity, wanting to experience the world instead of just reading about it and its creatures. Mostly, the individuals coming to Earth have abilities or adaptations that will protect or hide them from humans.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Other: [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Much like humans being right or left handed, a Langumosix Arcanus is right or left hearted. This means they have a dominant heart, right-heartedness being more common than left-heartedness. If the right heart in a right-hearted individual gives out and they become left-hearted, this would cause the pain that makes one sinful by the culture's standards. It is believed by all (or at the very least, most) Langumosix Arcani that if one feels pain during the process of losing a heart, the deities are punishing them. But, say a right-hearted individual's left heart gives out. This would cause no pain, or at the most a tingling sensation that could be easily passed off as something else. Therefore, the being is still considered pure*. The same goes for left-hearted individuals- if their left heart gives out, it is painful. If their right heart gives out, nothing much happens besides them now having one less heart.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]*They are all considered pure by default.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]When a Langumosix Arcanus hits their first major physical change at age 30, they are given a pocket-sized guardian to assist them throughout the rest of their life. The guardian will usually have complementary traits to the creature it is given to, and it's appearance will be basically the opposite of the certain Langumosix Arcanus. They are genderless fairy-like beings that can fly and turn invisible at will. These guardians will sometimes serve as teachers or mentors to the soul they're paired with, showing them how to survive and acting somewhat as a little voice inside the individual's head.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Short description:[/BCOLOR] A secretive, somewhat unsocial cat-like species that is in love with knowledge. They are blessed with the ability to speak any language as long as they have heard of it, along with other magical abilities and a pocket-sized guardian.

This second heart also serves as their connection to celestial beings (i.e, gods and goddesses), and if the heart that mainly keeps them alive has something happen to it, the left heart will begin to circulate more blood through the body in order for the creature to survive. (More info in "Other" section.) Langumosix Arcanus has four stomachs, much like a cow or koala, to digest certain food. Besides physical pain, the being will also feel incredibly fearful, anxious, or guilty. Although the punishment is a bit ruthless, it is meant to teach them a lesson if the deity feels it is necessary. (Hope they're okay~ ^^ Also, sorry it's so long :P)
So I haven't really read this yet, but, one thing I want to point out right from the get-go:

The color you used for your text is pure white, which is not great for people with light-colored backgrounds. I know that on a dark-background theme, text appears to be white by default -- but it's actually "non-colored". And non-colored text appears to be different colors depending on what the viewer's background color is -- ie black on a white background and white on a black background. (Not only that, but non-colored text on a dark background is actually a slightly darker, off-white color, rather than pure white -- which is one of the ways I can tell the difference between real white and non-colored text, even though I usually use a dark background, myself. :P )

In any case, to make your text non-colored again: highlight it, and, when you go to the text color options, click on the box in the lower-right with an X in it. That will make your race sheet readable to everyone, not just dark background users like you and me. :P

As far as I can tell, it's all pretty good. There are some references to deities which might be a problem, but I'll leave that to you. At the worst, it'd just require a minor tweak here and there.

Alright. I'll take a look at it soon.

They are genderless fairy-like beings
HEY!

serve as teachers or mentors
LISTEN!

showing them how to survive
WATCH OUT!

*cough* Anyway...

Like @Luma said, the thing about deities may be a bit problematic... :/ Deities would count as a "race" just like any other, and I generally don't want race/character sheets to include extensive references to races that don't have established rules yet. If I allowed any race/realm to have its own pantheon, then that would raise the question of how all these different gods and goddesses can exist in the same multiverse, despite not following the same rules or having conflicting mythologies. This becomes an even bigger issue when you consider the fact that afterlife scenarios such as heaven and hell can be realms of their own, and afterlife-related beings such as angels, demons, grim reapers, or ghosts can also count as their own races -- and all of these things would need to still make sense alongside whatever lore exists for deities (or just kept vague if we don't have that yet), and all of that becomes a lot more complex if we have countless types of deities all going by differing and conflicting rules... o_o" (I hope all of that made sense. Sorry for being rambly.)

The nice thing about race sheets that make reference to religion, though, is that usually it's very easy to fix it by saying "well this is what this race believes in but there's no telling whether or not those beliefs are correct". I'll accept practically any religious lore so long as it has a disclaimer like that attached. But, this here,

[BCOLOR=transparent]Going back to these beings' two hearts, it is a god or goddess saving them when the left heart begins circulating more blood. makes it hard to do that, as it implies that these deities are directly involved in the daily lives of these creatures, and it makes it hard to write it all off as a bunch of mythology.

So basically, I'm not sure how you can salvage this bit, and you might have to take it out completely. :/ If you can find a way to make it work then that's fine, but, I don't have very many suggestions on how to do that...

Other than that, though, this race sheet looks pretty good. This is really the only thing that I'm iffy about.

Ah, okay. I suppose I didn't really think about people using lighter backgrounds, since I use a darker one and when I copied it from Google Docs it was black on black, so I just made it white... whoopsie ^^ thanks for pointing it out, though :3

HEY!

LISTEN!

But, this here,

makes it hard to do that, as it implies that these deities are directly involved in the daily lives of these creatures, and it makes it hard to write it all off as a bunch of mythology.

Okie dokie! Yeah, ahhh... got a bit too into some of their religious lore. I'll probably either edit that whole thing that makes it like the deities are in their daily lives out, or find a way to tweak it and then just add the whole disclaimer ^^" (that one may prove to be a bit tougher, for the whole two hearts thing, but I suppose it's like people with near-death experiences. They say they saw/experienced something, but it can't really be proven as 100% true... if that makes sense? I'll most likely take that part out, at least for this roleplay.) As for any of the other mentions of religion (if they were even put in, I honestly can't remember it all), I'll just to the whole, "this is just what they believe", yada yada yada. :P

There could be a perfectly natural reason for the whole "left heart/right heart" thing. They may believe a god/goddess does such things, so the disclaimer could fit even with this, I would think.

Actually, if you're set on this idea, you could use mature Vori as your pantheon. I originally created them as a bit of lore for anyone who wanted to explain their race's deities. Of course it's up to you, you can just remove that bit of your lore, or replace deities with a more generic "powerful beings" or something.

It's weird, because we don't have a single "pre-existing race," but we have races that can easily be used in place of them. Vori can be deities. Mechanus are sentient golems and robots. Beriginya are a specialized kind of merfolk. Synthos are easily mistaken for ghosts. Awaitai are good for people who want to play a human-like race with a power or two. They're all "close but not quite."

I mean, yeah, you don't need a deity to explain why your race has two hearts -- it's moreso the thing about how losing one heart can sometimes feel completely painless and actually quite pleasant as the left heart takes over, and other times feel just as awful as a heart attack probably should feel. I guess you could argue that there's some scientific explanation for this (or maybe even a magical explanation) that the Arcani just haven't discovered yet, but, eh. I suppose it's really the way it's currently worded that's a bit of an issue.

I never removed it, just simplified it to "after eating magic for a really long time." I mean, I could remove that part if you feel that's better.

Eh, it's fine, I just forgot it was there.

To make this less... just blah (as in the whole situation with deities, not this statement)... I'll change it to have a scientific explanation, but they'll believe it to be something magical and/or related to the deities they believe in. Or, I may conjure up a magical reason for the transition of hearts and all that and either they know of this magical reason, or they believe it to be their deities' work. I'll use whichever one I think of that makes more sense to me, and then present it to make sure it's okay.

I'm thinking that for a scientific reason as to why some feel pleasant during the transition and others don't is that some Arcani have less pain receptors than others, therefore not feeling like they're dying when the right heart gives out and the left heart must take over.
(Then I could make some other stuff up about how if they have less pain receptors, they believe that their deities do not want them to feel common pain. In fact, the whole race may believe that if you feel pain, the deities are punishing you and it isn't normal at all.)
Of course, this would mean it's actually better to feel pain when the right heart gives out, which means the Arcani that feel pleasant during this experience technically have something wrong with them.

(Just wanted to run it by before going in and editing. Sorry if my wording is a little "ehh" (obviously I suck at finding the right words to describe things...). I'll spend more time on it if it's okay and I can put it in, but this is just kind of the gist of what I was thinking.)

You know, I had some nice idea about this:
What if some Arcani have their left or right heart being more dominant, and working harder than the other one. In that case, if that heart dies, they would feel extreme pain, and would probably fall into kind-of-coma thingy. If the opposite one dies, then they would partially feel nothing. Of course, there may be Arcani, in which both hearts work quite hard.

^ I like this idea. It could be like humans being right or left-handed (or, in very rare cases, ambidextrous). But perhaps the Arcani don't realize or understand that different individuals have different dominant hearts, and so the difference is interpreted as this judgement thing that you mentioned, @-'ToxicGhostie'-.

Furthermore, perhaps either right-heartedness or left-heartedness is more common than the alternative, meaning that either extreme pain or no pain is the more common outcome when the right heart gives out, and that the alternative is seen as the less common, unusual outcome. As for which should be more common, I guess it depends on whether the Arcani believe that most individuals are good by default and that only a particularly wicked person would deserve punishment, or that most individuals are sinful by default and that only a particularly pure person would be saved.

And given the fact that many human civilizations often associated left-handedness with wickedness, it really doesn't feel like too much of a stretch to connect something like this to one's morality. :P
