Personality: Naoko is very much a calm kind of person, slightly aloof but not in a way where she is unfriendly towards others. She very much enjoys the company of other people, not too much affected by those who are annoying or anything. She is tolerant and respectful to everyone, though doesn't speak much about her life nor does she delve into the lives of others. Most times she sounds and looks rather bored with life; but that is just her normal tone and expression!
Above all else, she puts her job first, because she believes that being a shinobi is the greatest thing in the world. The duty, obligation, and sense of purpose that being a kunoichi gives her, is the ultimate reward for her despite all the struggle or hardships. She is meticulous, careful and cautios when fighting, never allowing her teammates to recklessly jump into situations they do not fully understand. She does not believe a mission is complete solely on if the objective was carried out, but also if all the parties involved get to go home to their families or not.
Due to her demeanor that appears bored or uncaring most times, she is often challenged to give a reason to why she bothered to become a shinobi. Every time her answer is simple, often in a bored sounding tone:
"If you must know, I am a shinobi because there is nothing else I would rather be. Happy?"
History:
Born in to a small clan of nomadic puppet masters, by the time Naoko was old enough to have a sense of time and place, the clan had settled down in the Hidden Cloud with intentions to permanently stay. A result of this was her never thinking that she was born, or had a home anywhere outside of the village. She grew up thinking that the villiage was the place that protected and nurtured her. She grew up thinking that was where she belonged. And, for the most part, that was true. Even after learning she was born outside the village, she didn't pay it much mind. Home was a place where family was, not where one was born.
Her parents taught her the ways of a puppet master before she even enrolled in the academy. The skill came naturally to her, and her ability to control her chakra easily, only encouraged her parents to train her harder, always pushing her limits. Training with them was always harsh and strict. She had to follow the rules and execute the techniques down to the proper finger placement. Even when her hands ached and she could no longer move the puppets properly, the kept pushing until she became a master of the technique. She never disliked her parents for teaching her this way. It taught her control, focus, discipline, and above all, the ability to follow rules and execute an objective without hesitation.
When her parents though her adept enough to join the academy, Naoko was eleven years old. It made her upset for a while when she was placed in classes with those half her age, but that didn't last very long. Her teachers noticed right away that she was in a different league than a beginner, and was placed with students who were her age and older. Still having to study the curriculum for all levels, Naoko managed to absorb everything like a sponge, again and again being advanced and moved further up within months rather than a year or more. By the time Naoko was thirteen, she became a genin and started to construct her very own puppets.
Naoko took creating her puppets very seriously. She rejected to be put into a squad until she created them, pouring all of her time and energy into the creation of her masterpieces. When making them, Naoko made many models, always finishing one and then creating another one better than the last, using this technique to catch any ideas she missed. Any weapons she could add, she would add them, and though she made so many different puppets, she would eventually scrap them all, selecting three to decide to use as her own. Quality over quantity was her thought that helped her create the final pieces.
Eventually Naoko joined a squad and she worked with them for a while, doing off hand missions and job offers that her Jounin sensei picked out or was assigned to. Though she was mostly annoyed by them, she never complained, simply did her job as a ninja, and with that attitude, she was advanced to Chunin soon after turning fifteen. Now she has been told she is to be assigned to a different team who does more specialized work that her skill set would pair well with.
