David should have known that there was going to be some sort of initial trial that he would have to paratake in. He was an idiot for thinking otherwise, but free falling was not how he thought this was going to happen.. Goddamn it, why couldn't his damn semblance be flight or some way that he could cope. Why did it had to be damage strength? He growled and found a way to brace the impact. He noticed that where he landed, it was quiet... too quiet. That never seemed to be a good thing. He looked at the grond and was on guard for now.

Chapter One: Free Fallin'

The journey had admittedly been a long one, that much was for sure. Lasting two days, the soon-to-be students of Eden likely found themselves tired of being on the aircraft at some point during the journey, despite the surely made friends and allies they'd come to know. If only somewhat. After all, everyone has a secret, and the teens were certainly no exception. But I digress, whether the young heroes- and less than such -enjoyed or disliked the ride, they likely wouldn't enjoy the way it came to an end. The tip top of the morning, before the sun had even risen, they would come to a rude awakening. A loud, deep voice blaring over the speakers of the entire craft, undoubtedly jolting any and all passengers awake in the cabins. Or, well, wherever it was they'd happened to fall asleep in.

Or, if you were Midna, where you hadn't been sleeping at all.

Throughout the ship, an apparation appeared to the students, standing tall but casual with hands clasped behind it's back. A man, bespectacled, with orange hair and nice dress, the hologram staring at the group as though the man were truly there and able to see them all. Which, given the craft was surely equipped with cameras all around, he likely could. Regardless, with a brief adjustment of his glasses, he gave a wave before replacing his hands behind his back. "Good morning, students," came a voice through the speakers as the hologram's shining teal eyes regarded them. "I apologize for the rude awakening, and I understand you'd rather be asleep at this time. A sentiment that I can assure you, I share." Humor. Well, at least he wasn't a complete stick in the ass. "However, I'm here to inform you- you've all safely arrived at Eden Academy." A pause. "Well... Almost."

Oh, great. Of course there was a catch.

"As you all are likely aware, I'm the headmaster of Eden. Solomon Oran. As such, it falls upon me to inform you that arriving at my academy is sadly not as simple as catching a ride from my associates- the gentlemen and ladies on board with you," he mused, openly gesturing with his arm. "While you've all passed your examination tests, proving your capability to attend the prestigious Eden, there is one final trial you must undergo before your arrival." Taking a moment to step to the side, seeming more comfortable in movement, the man continued. "This may seem like a review to many of you, but Ashea is home to many a woodland, the densest and harshest of which surrounds our very school. We consider it a line of defense, not many wishing to venture through it with the numbers of the creatures of Grimm within. You lot, on the other hand, well... You'll be doing precisely that."
The entire two days Shizune waited patiently to be a dealt a hand of cards and tragically succumbed to dehydration

No, eventually she just wandered off after a bit more socializing. In fact that's how she spent the entire time on the ship. Little conversations here and there, with anyone and every one who didn't mind the samurai girl's company, doing her best to get the names of each and every one of her soon-to-be classmates so she wouldn't be socially starved whenever they were stuck at school for the long periods between breaks and weekends.

But on drop day, she was different. She wasn't the first Shimmer to attend Eden academy, and it wasn't likely she was going to be the last (It was a running dark joke between her father's peers that the reason he had so many kids was to ensure that at least one of them survived long enough to give him grandchildren). She'd been told by her older sister exactly what to expect. She'd made sure to go to bed in her full uniform the night before, with Tebiki at her side. She ate a full dinner, put off her socializing for one last kata before sleep to focus her mind, and made sure to actually go to sleep just as dusk was starting to fall, to ensure that when her alarm went off in the wee hours of the morning, she'd have time to wake up and prepare for the oncoming drop. It was a perfect set up.

Unfortunately, that perfect set up didn't at all prepare her for the simple mistake of sleeping through that alarm. Her eyes slowly pried themselves open at the sound of... Somebody speaking.
A smile grew on the man's face, and he turned before adjusting his glasses once more and straightening his tie. "Now, then, as you may have noticed, despite my statement that you have arrived where you'll be being dropped off, your craft has not ceased moving, has it?" Well, the likely groggy students would in fact notice that they were still moving along, despite this claim, indeed. As though to accentuate this fact, abruptly, a hatch opened beneath one of the student's cots, the one that held an unfortunate Qing You Xia and Aelius Cedomir, sending the two students free falling to the woods from the airborne craft.
"...Wha?" She mumbled as she tried to convince her limbs that whatever was going on, she was going to need to get out from under the covers to handle it
"Well, that would be because you'll be practicing your landing strategies and making sure you cannot easily be caught off guard. Expect the unexpected, and you'll find it hard to be surprised. Anyhow, don't worry for your friends, there. After all, you were all briefed on how you'd receive your partners and teammates before your journey here began, no? But I suppose I can give you a quick recap."

With that, he continued. "You'll be dropped off on the outskirts of the forest surrounding the academy, filled to the brim with Grimm and other creatures that may wish you harm. In the very center of the woodlands, you will find our academy. However, before you may enter, you must find a token, of sorts. Spread throughout the woods, two of which at every alter. Of which, there are eleven. In addition, whoever you first lay eyes upon once you've landed will be your partner for the years to follow. That said, I do hope none of you tried to cheat and pre-plan a team." Knowingly, he winked, before giving a final wave. "Now, then. I'll be seeing you all shortly. Try your best to stay alive, yeah?"
"...Oooooh. OOOOH SHOOT-"
And so, one by one, the students would find hatches opening under them, dropping them into the sky. Whether they were ready... Or not.
She was not ready.

Whoever was falling near her was subjected to a brief, terrified squeak of a scream as she tumbled through the air for a few seconds in surprise. It faded to a quieter hum of discontent not discernable over the rush of wind as she reminded herself that she'd prepared for this and twisted herself so she was falling correctly, briefly going spread eagle to slow her descent and get a read on where she was falling.
Shizune, Alcander, Gainsborough, and Felix landed to the South of the rest, in what seemed like a bit of a valley.

@Schnee Corp Lawyer @Crimson Spartan @Minerva @QuakeUPSB

A few quick glances and one deep breath later, and she narrowed herself into a dive towards a steep section of the valley. Her hair and robe flickered in the wind as she sped like a bullet, before a quicky and fluid draw of something from her thigh was followed by her slamming it into the hilt of her sword and twisting it towards the valley side. A thunderous bang erupted as the harpoon fired and lodged itself in the side of the valley and Shizune took another deep breath.

She exhaled a tremendous gust of wind, and the cable now attached to the side of the valley went taut as the momentum swung Shizune down and to the side in an arc, timed just so that her feet were skidding just above the ground at the bottom apex of the improptu circle she was drawing in the sky with herself. The cable released and she drew her blade to slam into the dirt, catching herself and slowing her momentum as it dragged through rock and silt and kicked up dust along with her shoes.

Eventually it slowed her to a stop, and she took a deep breath to try and control her adrenaline spike as she glanced around at who else had landed nearby. Were they ok? And if they were, had any of them landed in a way that made them quality 'partner to the protagonist' material?

As the events played out Alcander mostly kept to himself having trouble sleeping at night due to the nightmares he was plagued by. Around the time the headmaster appeared . Being antisocial for the most part and sleep deprived Alcander wasn't really paying attention until he noticed students beginning to fall through hatches.

Oh.....and upon noticing that a hatch under where he was standing opened he was rightly caught off guard.

Well Alcander had to plan his next carefully as he held his hands out in front of him. His gauntlets activating as he surrounded himself with fire. Using his semblance he absorbed the fire and with the boost came crashing down into the valley. Fist first he hit the ground causing a decent sized crater in response.

Standing up to brush himself off his landing had damaged his aura already but he seemed fine.

"..."

That was either really cool or that guy just killed himself.

"...Are you ok???" Shizune called towards the... hole in the ground.

Aelius, Ming, Vasili, and Hazel wound up surrounded by trees and... A growling could be heard nearby where Aelius and Hazel had ended up, more specifically. That couldn't be good.

There had been one cabin on the ship that had been occupied since they'd left port. No one had come in or out of it, but occasionally in the dead of night, the riffs of righteous metal could be heard through the walls of the neighboring cabins and the halls. Students who were wise avoided it, sensing the darkness within and fearing that a vile spirit of metal and death haunted the room within.

Or they just found the music annoying but, like, who the hell was gonna think that?

Yet when the cabin opened up beneath the room and disgorged its hellish contents into the world below, twas not a ghost or devil that spewed forth upon the world. Nay, it was... a girl. Dressed in blacks, purples and reds and with hair the hue of the darkest soul, She let out an unearthly cackle of unbridled joy as she tumbled through the air. A guitar case was strapped across her back, and in her hands she held the instrument herself.

"YEEEEAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!"

She spun her grip on the guitar from being held like an axe to being wielded as was its true purpose, and dramatically raised her hands towards the heavens as the wind howled around her coat and midnight locks of hair. As if in defiance of that rythymless noise, she brought those fingers down across invisible strings, and with a thunderous boom the guitar answered with a riff that echoed through the woods below. She crowed in delight at the sound she craved, and soon a roaring melody of doom accompanied the girl as she careened towards the earth.

When finally she neared her death at the terminal velocity embrace of mother gaia, She twisted herself to point at the ground and thrashed a new rhythm across her instrument, and in response crackles of blue lightning shot forth to the ground below. Where it hit, icicles bloomed like daggers through the forest, quickly forming a ramp of frozen glory that caught the girl's feet and slid her safely down and towards a tree, where she leaped and hooked the edge of the guitar to send herself spinning 'round till she finally lost her momentum.

"WOOOOOOOHOOOHOOHOOHOOOOOOOoooooaaaaalright that was fun where the fuck am I?"

Where she'd landed, Midna calmly glanced about, dark blue eyes scrutinizing her place of landing with a purpose. Ears were strained, listening closely for any hint of a Grimm presence despite the seeming calm of the area. Satisfied for the moment when she heard nothing, the cloaked female carefully stowed her weapons, blinking as she took her first steps since landing and began scaling on of the nearest trees, seeking a higher ground to determine her location in regards to the closeness of her destination. Being a natural climber, it took her no time at all to reach the top, where she scanned the area with a purpose..

Just in time to see a male go whizzing by, landing nearby, followed by a female that seemed to land in the same general area, if not right on top of him. And, not just any girl, either - from the brief glimpse she caught, it seemed to be the infamous Soneri.

"..."

Yeah. She was glad that she hadn't been the one to land in her company. Pass on partnering with her, though she did feel bad for the unfortunate Eshell who had. Sighing softly, the female use one hand to hold back her windblown hair, preparing to jump down out of the tree... Just as another boy came whizzing by.

Right towards her.

With wide eyes, and already having jumped off of her perch, Midna had no choice. The boy was going to slam into her, otherwise, so she had to act fast. And she did. Bracing for the impact, Midna waited for exactly the right moment before... Catching the male in her arms around impact, admittedly pushed back a bit by the force of his impact with her, but able to recover easily and navigate them down through the last of the branches with minimal impact(all of which was hers, luckily able to guard him from it) and land on her feet....

With the boy held awkwardly in her arms, bridal style.

"..."

Okay. She needed to think, and fast. What was she supposed to say? What was she supposed to do? This guy was going to be her partner for a long time, now, and she couldn't screw up. She couldn't make a bad first impression with someone she'd be stuck spending so much time with, after all. So caught up in figuring out what to say, she forgot she was even holding him, forcing herself to be calm and give a well thought-out greeting that would surely be a great start to what hopefully wouldn't end horribly like many of her attempts at being social.

"...Hello," she finally spoke, English accent a little more evident considering she forced herself to speak up.

Totally nailed it.

@Ringmaster
".....Hi."

As stoic as ever, the only thing that had changed in his expression was the tint of red he was sporting. At the same time, he seemed in no hurry to get out of it either as he tried to think of words.

Whatever those were.

"...You're strong."

Compliments were always a nice compromise at least, as he cleared his throat and once free from that soft, yet strong, pliant prison he brushed himself off and took a better look at her.

And turned promptly more red, which he tried to hide by checking his equipment.

"...Y'know the way?"

Duke Velos

Duke had been enjoying his time talking to his new friend when Eden's headmaster had appeared via hologram to introduce himself and their mission. The young Rook turned to continue his conversation with Windia when the lower window angled below him opened up out of nowhere. Immediately, the sudden air pressure sucked Duke off the handrail and out the ship. The boy sighed heavily as he plummeted towards the earth. He had been having such a nice conversation. I guess it's time to take care of business, he thought. Duke's mind slowly began to speed up, racing through hundreds of ways to land safely. After a brief moment, he decided the best way to land was to aim for the large body of water below him. Corkscrewing his body in order to change his angle of direction and landing, Duke twisted and turned, straightening out at the last moment to splash into the water. After a couple moments, Duke resurfaced and began swimming to shore. The sudden impact had hurt a lot more than he would have liked, but he had done the best he could with what he had around him, which had literally been nothing. As he reached shore, Duke took a seat on the sand to catch his breath. "Well, that's one hell of way to start an orientation," he muttered, removing his shoe to dump out the water that had pooled inside it. After putting his boot back on, Duke got up and headed inland, wondering who he'd run into. It was a weird thought; the idea of having a partner other than his sister. He could only wonder how everything would turn out...

Far off and yet relatively close, a falling figure sailed towards the lake. This was just another drop(she disregarded the fact she was navy, not air force) and she would master it like a, come to think of it, that lake surface was growing larger-ohshitshewasnotreadyatall-!

There was a sudden spray, the look of something skipping across the lake surface like a stone and then a crash upon the chore.

Thankfully, the blackberry bush broke her fall.

Silence reigned briefly and then a familiar, and yet entirely new voice came from within the green.

"What the fuck am I wearing?!"

There was a ripping noise and when Aqua stepped out, it was her and yet, not at all. The sleeves had been torn off to the shoulders of the uniform. She had unbuttoned the top and was sighing in relief at being able to breath. She was scratched from her landing, but seemed otherwise alright as she looked her reflection in the lake, frowned and tousled up her hair.

Perfect.

"Much better." She muttered with a grin before withdrawing what looked like a mace of some kind from her back sheath.

And whistling a few bars of 'Back in Black', she swung the weapon casually in hand before laying it over her shoulder as she strode off with more of a sway and less of a march as before.

Where most of the students spent their time aboard the ship making friends and socializing, Jolyu Sun-Shin stared out the window with a sour face. Her ears twitched in agitation at all the noise in the background. At night, she willed her eyes shut, and dutifully drifted to sleep. The next morning she rose, and listened intently to the apparition in front of her. Her brow furrowed at the mention of a "landing strategy". Protecting Korya scarcely needed falling/jumping from high places, nor was it likely to in the future.Gathering her essentials in preparation for Eden's little initiation, an open hatch prompted the dog-woman to come to grips with the situation.

Despite her self, Jolyu panicked for a solid ten seconds. The air felt like it was rushing through her, rather than just around her, blinding her. With her eyes still closed, the martial Lady of Korya took a gravity assisted breath, pulled her bow from her back, and pressed a small glowing button on the bow's pivot point. Immediately the mahagony gave way to a neon blue translucent tortoise shell 2 meters in diameter with the ornamental head of a dragon in the center. Eyelids unburdened with the rush of fear that comes from death by gravity, Jolyu watched and waited crashing through past tree branches, until she was nearly ten meters from the ground. Just before that distance, she reached into her quiver behind her and pulled out an arrow with a glowing grey tip. Jolyu jammed that arrow into the area of the shell jut behind the dragon, whose eyes glowed the same shade of grey and belched a shell of energy against the earth, cushioning her fall. Or rather, it would have, had she fired the gout of gravity energy a scant meter higher up, with her Tortoise and Dragon angled to be completely parallel with the earth. Instead her weight threw her angle off a few degrees, and her last resort sent her flying through the branches a solid 15 meters. It's just her luck that she'd crash land on a fellow huntress in training.

@Valentyne
As the other girl crashed into her, Lilac's first thought was that she was glad to have already deactivated her Semblance; if the Shroud of Cain had been in effect, the other huntress would have experienced the impact twice as the Shroud mirrored the "attack" back against her. Her second thought was one of irrational panic; what if the other girl felt something, or the fall pulled her choker out of position? For an instant, Lily's fear of being outed before even arriving at Eden overcame everything else. But, as that instant passed, her training kicked in. The two huntresses rolled sideways, and Lilac plunged her sword into the ground, letting go of it to avoid either of them being accidentally injured. She grabbed the larger trainee's shoulders and wrapped her legs around her as they skidded through the grass; that way, their limbs wouldn't become tangled in with each other's and bend in a way they weren't supposed to. The pair came to a rough stop, the new arrival laying on top of Lilac, who quickly let go and unwrapped her legs.

Her heart pounding, Lily opened her eyes and looked up into the face of her new partner. She shivered at the physical contact, very aware of how much taller and more muscular the girl, who she could now see as a dog faunus, was. She was very aware of how close their bodies were. But only for a single moment in time, which seemed to hang suspended in awkwardness. As sense returned to her, Lilac rolled over and disentangled herself from the other huntress, standing up and offering her hand to pull her to her feet. No longer prone, she was even more conscious of the fact that the faunus was a full foot taller than her. Craning her neck to see her face, she said, in a tone fraught with nervousness and awkwardness,

"Um...hello."

Rest time over, Kwame started to look around the meadow. Hmm...a little too pretty and peaceful. Which was why he needed to get to work ASAP.

First folding the parachute and putting it in Spinneseade (when he got to Eden he'd make a parachute function, just in case this situation ever arose again), he then pulled out some of his needles, and started threading yellow Dust thread through it. Once done, he stuck it into the ground, starting to piece together a network of yellow tripwires in case Grimm showed up. As he did so he saw someone from the flight nearby. "HEY!" Kwame called. "LOOKING FOR A PARTNER?"

"Wooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Ahahahaha!" exclaimed a girl who entered the free fall with a particularly large amount of excitement. Stretching her arms out to her sides, she relished the feeling of the wind rushing up against her skin as she fell, blowing her black hair about, running against the fur of her white tiger ears pleasantly. Laughing with pure joy, she whipped out Night Tearer, flipping the weapon open into it's Tessen form. Continuing to laugh heartily, she brought the two war fans downward as she came close to the treetops she'd be landing through, causing a gust of wind that kept her up moments longer. Just long enough, more specifically, to switch Night Tearer into it's shield form, curling into a ball behind it, crashing through the trees before switching positions so that it was beneath her feet. Using the thing like a surfboard, she sped down a slope, smiling all the while.

"Wooooooohooo!"

Less excitedly, another fell, dual sickles in hand and cloak skillfully concealing her wolf tail she worked so hard to hide from the world. Long, wavy blonde hair rippled in the wind much like the dark fabric of her cloak as she fell. With but a small grunt signifying her minor exerted effort, she slammed through the leaves, skillfully hooking her sickle off a thick tree branch and easily swinging off of it with her already gathered speed. She landed on the ground in a roll, ending on her feet in the end before brushing herself off.

Hmph. Well enough.

In any case, the students were dropped off in fairly different areas. Windia, Teanna, Audrey, and Liliya found themselves on the western outskirts of the forest. Unluckily for them, it appeared the outskirts were lined with many a detour, thick vines and undergrowth making navigation difficult.

@Accelerator @C.T. @Gummi Bunnies

Mona, Duviel, Duke, and Aqua found themselves closer to the Northeastern areas of the woodlands, a little further in. The area was near a peculiar body of water, looking to be perfectly clear, with the shadows from the treetops cast over the water.

@Hospes @CrunchyCHEEZIT @QuakeUPSB @Ringmaster

David, Aria, Franky, and Kwame, meanwhile, found themselves further to the East, in an area that seemed a bit more forgiving. Flowers of various shades laid around, and the trees were not stirred by even a breeze. But it seemed almost as though a bit too calm.

But hey, at least the sun had finally risen. It was the dawn of a new day, and, more than that? It was time for their days at Eden to begin.
A white-haired girl who had remained silent for the vast majority of the two-day long trip had been lying peacefully in bed when the hologram of the headmaster came about, causing her head to rise from her pillow and the ears atop her head to twitch curiously, a tired expression on her face as she watched and listened to what the man had to say. Sleepiness was still clear in her warm reddish-gold eyes, and a silent yawn parted her lips, mouth falling open and eyes drooping tiredly as she listened. Well, at least, up until the first students had hatches opened from under them.

rsz_alert2_by_teh_zombish_dawpruk_by_teh_zombish-dawqajg.jpg

Then, the girl was wide awake, ears perking straight up and eyes going wide. Jolting upright and barrel-rolling away from the spot she'd been lying, she made a dash to quickly grab her weapon and bag of belongings... Just in time to be dropped through the air.

While some may have screamed, or perhaps laughed, or some other variation of panic or excitement, this girl- Bianca Armod -was totally silent as she fell, hair white as snow flowing behind her like a waterfall. With evident concentration, she glanced over the area, trying to pinpoint what would be the best place to land. After a moment, a small grin crossed her face as Divines' Fury extended into whip form, lashing out and wrapping itself around a rather large tree branch and letting the girl skillfully swing downwards, landing safely on her feet before retracting her weapon.

With a small smile on her face, the girl calmly stowed her weapon, stretching out and resting her hands on the back of her neck, beginning to walk along contently through the flowery, calm area with eyes full of curiosity. Her ear flicked slightly, eyes briefly widening and mouth falling open ever-so-slightly. She'd heard some noise nearby, and she wasn't sure what to make of it. Whirling on her heel, her features steeled slightly, a hand ghosting over the hilt of her weapon as she cautiously began to approach the source of the noise.. Before she instead smiled, hand falling instead to her side and a breath of calm released. This was no Grimm, but rather, a fellow student. A friendly wave was given to the new arrival, though no words of greeting were spoken.

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!"

Sledding back and forth with surprising skill for someone who seemed so klutzy, Mona continued to laugh through her descent down the hill.. Only for her to notice something as she headed down. Oh, was that.. Could it be....? "Hahaha, loooook outtttttt!" she called to the figure, but she was already much too close for that warning to cut it. Still smiling as bright as ever, she hopped off of the makeshift 'sled' she'd been using Night Tearer as, leaping right at the unfortunate male in a forceful tacklehug one wouldn't think would be possible for someone of her rather petite size. The force likely knocked the poor male over, if so winding up with both of them tumbling through the grass, Mona still laughing all the while. Even as they slowed to a stop, with her atop of him, she smiled and giggled softly. Leaves danced through her tiger ears and black hair, her expression still as cheerful as ever as she rested her chin on Duviel's chest through the tacklehug.

"...Heya, Duviel!" she greeted, evidently absolutely elated to see the male judging by how her smile was even wider than usual. "Hehe, wow, I guess we're partners, huh?"

At least it was hard to get mad at that dorky little face... Unless, of course, you were Duviel. And this was the second time you'd been tackled by her.

Duviel gave the speakers a glare as they crackled to life, interrupting his attempts of blocking Mona out. Duviel wasn't one to listen to orders very well; he made it his own policy to not be someones dog, even in a situation like this where he has to. He slowly rose to his full height once more, rolling his neck and grumbling some kind of profanity under his breath as he glared down at the floor now . It didn't take longer than a second after the first two sorry bastards were dropped for Jones to understand what this was. A shitty challenge, but at least it'd be kind of fun.

And, away we go.

Duviel quickly regained control of himself mid-air, squinting his single eye when the gusts of wind smashed into his face, sending him closer to the ground with each passing second. Something about it caused Duviel to hack and cough slightly, whether it was from fear or...something else? Either way, he'd make his landing. Spotting a gargantuan tree, Duviel began to glide himself towards it slightly, just close enough. The Drunken Sailor escaped from its latch, a jagged hook whistling through the air and colliding with the bark of the titan, latching on and chaining Duviel to it. With limited control over his direction, Duviel sent himself swinging down towards the body of water, releasing the hooks grasp on the tree just his body was sent flying into the salty water like a haywire torpedo.

And, he sank. For a little bit, anyway.

The cold depths embraced him, granting him a few moments of respite.

He could see clearly. For once, he could breathe. The stress in his body washed away, refreshing him. Now he could focus.

Right, back to it.

The water rippled, bending and warping around Duviel Jones as he slowly emerged from the depths, slugging onto the shore.

@Hospes @Gummi Bunnies @Demmy

Well, luckily for Angus, Midna failed to even notice the red tinting his cheeks, too caught up in her own panic of what she was supposed to do or say. "...Thanks." People weren't her thing... After all, living on the streets for so long had admittedly put a damper on her social skills and, despite her ease with politeness, she often came off blunter than intended or used the wrong phrasing, which often seemed to offend. So she needed to be careful, she thought as she swallowed the lump in her throat and finally remembered to set the male down- okay, it was more like she suddenly realized she'd been holding him bridal style for much to long and she less than gracefully dropped him. Straightening her cloak, she averted her eyes, giving naught but a nod in response to his question.

"...Just to the East of here." And with those words, she began walking without a thought, not so much as glancing over her shoulder to see if he was following. She probably figured he automatically would.

Without much time to think, she slipped off her coat, and a small flash of light came from her. By the time Liliya would probably slam into one of the tree branches, she had somehow transformed into the form of a swan... a panicking swan to be exact.

Noticing a few other students present here, Liliya tried to make gestures over to where her ribboned coat was, the coat hanging off of a tree branch higher from them. Well... if only it were easy to convey while in swan form.
"...Audrey. There's uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...a big swan thrashing around in a tree over there."

"I have no time for your games, Tee."

"No seriously, look!"

Audrey rolled her eyes, still a common practice with Tee around. Regardless, she gave her the benefit of the doubt, looked up and...to Audrey's credit she didn't even flinch at the sight. "So there is."

"I'm gonna try to talk with it."

"Okay...wait what--"

Teanna had already scaled a nearby tree with acrobat's grace, hopping from that to the next and the next until she was close enough to touch the swan. "Hi." She greeted chipperly.

@Hospes @Gummi Bunnies @Accelerator

"Little Franky" casually watched on as the headmaster projection spoke to them all and then as students begin exiting the aircraft in various willing or unwilling manners. Returning Felix's casual salute with one of his own before hopping off his seat and walking over to one of the hatches. On the way he pulls out his firearm "Tiny Tommy" along with a long stick magazine with a few blue rhombus shapes on it before loading it in and pulling the hammer back, readying it. The whole situation was indeed a little unexpected to him but he was better than just sitting around. As students continued to exit the craft Franky started yelling out "3 OK!!! 2 OK!!! 1OK!!! Mimicking paratroopers from old war movies he remembers watching with his father before spreading out his arms and letting himself fall backwards out the open hatch.

He let himself plummet head first in silence relishing in adrenaline rush he was getting as he fell. He more so baggy . He counting..."1...2...3!" Before energetically flipped himself around so that his feet and front barrel of his gun pointed down towards a large fast approaching tree. He grinning big as he held down the trigger and watched his frost bullet ammo impact down the length of the tree creating a small ice slid big enough for one person to slide down on while standing. Righting himself he'd carry on to do just that; at the end of the super icy slide lied a small foot wide ramp caused by the roots at the bottom which helped him not smash into the ground though he was sent back into the air and forced to tuck and roll once he finally antiquated himself with the ground. He rolled for a good few yards through a large flower bed before finally coming to a halt, sprawling his limbs out and facing up at the sky. "What a ride." He jokes to himself before slowly standing up and again leaning his gun casually against before looking around only to see the oddly way too calm area around him. "Brimming with Grimm my foot..." "I bet..."

He then looked ahead to see a fellow student who was now by the rules going to be his partner in all of this. He waves and introduces himself as usual waiting for a response back as he closes the distance between the two.

Windia didn't realize how much time had passed by ever since she began conversing with Duke. She was thoroughly pleased when she heard Duke's main motivation to become a Huntsman and she even giggled a bit when he commented how sappy both of them were. Looks like the ruffian was performing a preemptive strike when it came to triggering her flags, although the Rook still had a long way to go before she could say that he had successfully managed to enter her route.

She honestly didn't expect someone like Duke to have family as his main motivation to take up this path but it was quite understandable. In fact, she was starting to see him in a better light after their exchange of words. Looks like his ruffian exterior was only a front and she had to admit that she had been judging the Drayce folk like one would judge a book by its cover.

"Family and those important to you huh. I guess that's part of my motivation too. You could say my current dream is the result of seeing my family's hardships and struggles at both Terra and Nysa." She replied in a slightly more melancholic tone.

No amount of gratitude would be enough to express how much Windia had been thankful to her parents for adopting her instead of leaving her to die in that conflict. That's why she wanted to create a world where Faunus and Humans can co-exist with one another without any discrimination and inequality.

Suddenly, several speakers blared up along with the appearance of a certain glasses-wearing, orange-haired man through multiple holographic projections all throughout the ship. By the way he stood, and how he was neatly dressed, Windia already had an idea who this guy was way before he introduced himself.

Apparently, Windia's hunch was correct, as the ginger introduced himself as Solomon Oran, the Headmaster of Eden Academy. And apparently, he just made it to the top 5 of her favorite persons list. After loosely explaining how all the students would arrive at the academy, form teams, and meet their partners, everyone around her started dropping like flies... quite literally so.

These people were the lucky ones since they were thoroughly briefed of the head honcho's little surprise. As for Ael, well she couldn't help but snicker when she realized one of the first screams she heard belong to him. Then, she burst out laughing when Duke tried to get another word out to her only to plunge straight down to the ground below. It reminded her of those goofy cartoons she used to watch with her siblings as a kid. Even after it was her turn to experience "Plan B", she could still feel herself gasping for air as she laughed hysterically.

By the time, she had gotten over what happened to Duke, only a several hundred feet of air separated her from the ground. Despite this, a grin could be seen on her face as she calmly aimed Zephyrus at a particularly large tree. Once she saw a suitable target, she fired a Grappling Bolt, which subsequently impaled itself into one of the large branches of the tree. Then, by pulling the trigger again, a whirring motion could be heard emanating from her crossbow as it reeled itself, along with its white-haired owner towards the tree's branch. Due to the rapid speed of her descent, coupled by the forced acceleration towards the tree's branch, she ended up swinging vertically multiple times at said branch as the hook's cable entangled itself around the branch before finally landing on top of it.

"Nailed it! Kukuku."

Since she didn't use her semblance at all to stick that landing, she had an even more triumphant look on her face. Ael probably wouldn't believe her when she tells him about this since that stubborn blonde was so fixated with the idea that she'll just float like a butterfly to safety using her semblance. Of course she wouldn't! That was the boring, and easy way one would only use for emergencies. Where's the fun and excitement in that? She'd much rather do the method she performed just now if she could help it.

After retrieving her Grappling Bolt, she noticed an oddly placed coat hanging off the same tree branch she landed on. Oddly still, she saw a swan at a lower branch of a different tree, seemingly gesturing towards said ribbon coat. Could that coat belong to that swan, perhaps? That was strange. It's the first time she's ever encountered a swan who wore clothing before... After connecting this and that together, Windia finally realized that the swan must have been one of the students who somehow transformed into a swan to avoid being flattened like a pancake.

With a swift motion, she snatched the coat from the branch and gracefully hopped down towards the swan. While she was in midair, she saw one particular blonde girl on the forest floor while another girl was scaling the tree from below as she approach the swan curiously. She remembered these two to be the tumbling duo from before. After landing on the branch, with coat in hand, she scrutinized the swan carefully before sighing in resignation and handing the coat over.

"Under different circumstances, I'd be curious what you'd look like without this coat. But I guess Principal Ginger just dropped us into No Man's Land so this counts as a survival situation now. Well, no matter. Since we're partners from now on, I'll have plenty of chances to peek at you from under your coat. Fufufu." Windia said to Liliya with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Relax! I'm kidding. I don't swing both ways, the last time I checked. See, I've already got this plan to create a reverse harem after all. Anyways, my name's Windia, and I guess we'll be partners from now on." Windia said reassuringly to the two she beamed at them.

"I guess you already have a partner huh? The funny blonde down there, I presume?" She asked Teanna with an inquisitive look on her face.

Afterwards, she addressed the swan again.

"Now I hope you're a fellow student, and not a legitimate swan. Cause I think I'll be screwed if my partner for the next four years is a real swan. Not that I have anything against real swans, but I simply don't know how a swan would help me when a Beowulf's trying to bite my bum." Liliya and Teanna could see Windia starting to panic now as she contemplated the pro's and cons of having a migratory bird as a partner.

"You can transform back to human form now. I won't peek. Promise!. Though I suggest you make it quick. We still have to rendezvous with other students after all. The more people we have, the safer we are from the Grimm. " She said in a more urgent voice as she turned away from the swan and faced Teanna again.

"And I assume you'll be coming with us as well. It's better to stick together in times like this and the more the merrier, right?" Widnia tried to sound more upbeat but her worried look betrayed what she had just said.

Liliya and the others could hear Windia murmuring the phrase "Please be a student."repeatedly until Liliya managed to transform back into human form.

Ael's day started on a high note. As usual, he was already up and about by the crack of dawn and was eager to socialize with his peers once again. However, the Headmaster must have also gotten this accursed semblance of his, or a really effective alarm clock as he seemed to be already in working condition even before Ael had shook of the last traces of sleepiness from his eyes.

He had just gotten his hands on Solstice when he heard the headmaster explaining something about already arriving at the academy, woodlands surrounding it as a defense system, and that most people wouldn't even think of venturing within those woods but the students would be doing just that.

Dread already filled Ael as he connected the dots in the Headmaster's statement. And just when he realized what was about to happen, it happened.

"OH SHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTT!"

Most people on board probably heard his terrified screams as he began free falling towards the forestland below, Worse of all, neither his weapon nor semblance would help at all to soften his fall so it looks like he's going in hot.

"I could try cushioning the fall with my semblance... but I'll most likely be out cold by the time evening ar--" His thoughts were interrupted when a sudden black avian-like figure suddenly appeared, flying below him. He was falling way too fast to correct his trajectory so all he could do was brace for impact.

(Skip to 8 seconds for this vid placement to make sense)

Upon landing on the bird, he realized it was no ordinary bird, but a juvenile Nevermore instead. Both of them were falling now though Ael miraculously managed to stay on its back as it thrashed about and flapped its wings to regain altitude. Once he decided that a crash would be necessary to bring him down to sweet solid ground, Ael gripped his sword tightly and embedded the blade just behind the bird grimm's skull where it should have connected with the spine. It was the fastest way to kill it, after all and it seemed to be effective as he felt himself falling once again.

This time, he was towards in a heavily forested area, but unlike a while ago, he was now at a lower, safer altitude, and he has a partially disintegrating Grimm carcass to soften his blow. Or so he thought. Before he could hit any of the trees, the Nevermore's body fully vaporized and there was now nothing to protect him from the impending collision with the tree.

"OH FUCCCCK ITTTT!"

Tblonde knight's body began emanating a golden glow which snaked it way until it covered his sword. Then, when the first tree loomed in front of him, he swung his sword with all his might in order to cut through it. Fortunately, his semblance-aided strike was enough to cut through it cleanly like butter. Unfortunately, about half a dozen more trees lie in ambush in front of him.

Slash, strike, cut.

Ael repeated those three actions in an almost mechanical fashion as he smoothly got through every trunk that got on his way, and consequently turning them to oddly cut timber. He was now only less than a hundred feet from the ground when a gigantic tree appeared all of a sudden as he cut the 5th one down. There was simply no way he'd be able to cut through that tree without exhausting all of his aura, so he instead improvised. He had planned to originally perform a roll once he reaches a clearing in order to transfer the momentum from his fall. Now, all he could do was to embed his sword into the giant tree's trunk and slide down from it as Solstice slowly cut the tree in a lengthwise fashion.

The young knight practically began kissing the ground as soon as his boots touched the forest floor though mother nature probably hates him now after he cut down all those trees to break his fall. A loud crash could be heard coming from behind him as the trees he cut down fell to the ground in an almost simultaneous fashion the moment he hit the ground. Dismissing the fact that he couldn't believe he survived that fall when the odds were stacked against him. Before anything else, however, he deactivated his Semblance in order to conserve his Aura.

"I guess I have to thank Ingram for throwing me off a mountain all the time. That crazy old man's finally making sense now when he said it was a "necessary part of training." He mused.

After checking to make sure he was alright, he began scanning his surroundings. Lush, dense trees covered his surroundings as far as the eye could see. Immediately, he realized something was fundamentally wrong. This was supposed to be a forest filled with animals... and yet the entire forest seems to be devoid of animal life as his surroundings were eerily quiet. Though that didn't last for long. Like a knife, howls and growls near him cut through the deafening silence.

He remembered what the headmaster had said. This forest was supposed to be filled to the brim with the creatures of Grimm. And it looks like he landed in a particularly bad location. Great.

"Just my luck, I guess."

Strangely, the growls and howls seem to not get any closer to his location. If he had to make a guess, the Grimm found an unfortunate student to gang up on. His legs instinctively began moving to the source of the howls until he came across the girl talking with the masked guy from before surrounded by several Beowulves. She was getting ready to fight those in front of her, seemingly failing to notice that one particular Beowulf had snuck up on her blind side.

As it tried to pounce on her from behind, Ael intercepted the wolf grimm in midair with his sword, cleanly cutting through it until its remains vaporized.

"Hey, I don't suppose you've already gotten a partner, right?" Ael asked Hazel as he defended from any attacks coming from her rear. . "Because if you already have, that person's quite rude to leave you to fend for yourself like this."

"In any case, I hope you don't mind me helping you in this pinch you've gotten yourself into. Us Hunters need to watch each other's backs, right?"

The knight assumed a defensive stance after saying those words. As he gripped Solstice tightly with one hand, he awaited either Hazel's response or the Beowulves' attack. Whichever came first.

"...Wha?" She mumbled as she tried to convince her limbs that whatever was going on, she was going to need to get out from under the covers to handle it

"...Oooooh. OOOOH SHOOT-"

"..."

That was either really cool or that guy just killed himself.

"...Are you ok???" Shizune called towards the... hole in the ground.

Alcander paused as he took a moment to recover from the shock he was experiencing....before noticing the decent sized crater he was standing in. It was at that time he caught the sound of someone's voice speaking to him. He couldn't recall at all if he had heard that voice before or not over the time on the ship as he only really recalled conversing with that Hazel girl.

Oh wait... He should probably answer back seeing as a good minute had passed since she asked if he was okay.

"Y-yeah... I'm good...I think....everything's intact at least.." way to ensure someone that you're okay, Alcander. Anyways soon enough the 6'7 male came out the crater with rather ease as he pulled back up his hood to hide his long brown hair.

@Hospes @others

"Heh... Sorry, Duviel," she muttered, sheepishly, rubbing her head with a briefly awkward air about her. Before she was promptly dropped on her ass.

With a small oof after being shoved off of Duviel, Mona shook her head, clearing the leaves that had settled in her hair with her ears flattening briefly against her head. But despite the gesture being one common for submission or fear, she hardly seemed put off, peering at the boy with delight even as he climbed to his feet, towering over her while glowering down at her and uttering some words the innocent female would never repeat. It seemed that no matter how harshly he acted towards her, Mona wouldn't be easily discouraged. Even by the big, scary pirate.

Which was why it likely wasn't surprising when she hopped to her feet, rolling her shoulders and beaming as he made a gesture to the woods. "...Alright! Lead the way, then, partner!" she cheered, ears perking right up and swiftly sweeping Night Tearer back into her hand from where it'd landed, using her free hand to point valiantly towards the woods. Before her brief bout of seriousness broke, a small laugh parting her lips. "But don't worry. I won't get in your way. I promise," she assured, skipping after him as he started into the woods.

He was probably doomed, with her as a partner.

While she knew how straightforward a landing strategy was, Soneri didn't actually think this one through when she was immediately thrown into the situation where a landing strategy was needed. She only practiced herself in the arts of archery, and she didn't think that she would be needing a landing strategy until now. However, something broke her fall, and that was falling into the same grass pile that Eshell fell into.

"..."

Soneri immediately recalled the words said by their headmaster. So what was her thoughts on Eshell?

"Ugh, I don't have the time to be lingering around you."

And there she goes, thinking on going somewhere else and finding someone a bit more suitable to her tastes. She probably wouldn't get far, considering that she didn't feel like going through all of that nasty vegetation that surrounded this meadow.

Eshell groaned as he sat up, rubbing his stomach as he did so. "If that was the case then why did you land on me?" He grumbled, standing after he had caught his breath. Tiltimg his head in the sorection of the other two, it took him a moment to realize the girl who had landed with him was already walking away. "Wait! Where are you going?"

Closing her eyes briefly and giving a nod of understanding and content when Franky introduced himself, the girl garbed in crimsons and golds took only momentary pause when she came to realize the boy was waiting for something from her. Oh. Right.. Introductions were a two-way street, weren't they? It may have slipped her mind for that brief moment, but Bianca Armod was not unprepared. With a glint to her red eyes, she held up a finger to motion that she needed just a moment, beginning to fish through the small bag she'd brought with before triumphantly producing what looked like a sticker of some sort, with neat writing on it in black pen. Proudly, she smacked the sticker- no, it was a name tag -onto the left side of her chest, placing her hands on her hips after gesturing over it triumphantly. Simply, it read 'Biance Armod'. Seeming content with her handiwork, though the reason she wouldn't speak was unknown, she patiently waited for him to read. Well, up until her right ear twitched abruptly, her eyes snapping open and widening with her body tensing. A sound had come from nearby, behind Franky.

In an instant, she'd drawn Divines' Fury, entering a battle-ready stance before leaping into the air, soaring right over Franky with her weapon extending into it's whipsword form as she lashed out, just as an Ursa charged from the brush, letting out a mighty roar. The collision of the female's weapon and the creature's skin seemed to anger it alongside do it's damage. Well, looked like any 'getting-to-know-you' stuff would have to wait. Better focus on taking down the creature of Grimm, first.

@Hospes @Gummi Bunnies @Demmy

Oh, so Eshell has the nerve of following her? She already stated that she didn't have the time to be wasting on him, and had her sights set on finding some other place that wasn't so clustered like the forest around them.

"Some place that isn't so messy and occupied by this stupid forest, that's where I'm going!"

Soneri sounded pissed off already. But it was all forest-infested areas surrounding this meadow, which was some place she didn't want to go alone. There were multiple reasons that she didn't want to get herself in there alone. One, she wasn't sure what was there ahead. Two, she didn't know forest-like areas that well. And three, well... she didn't want to get herself all messy.

"Actually..."

Stepping her way over to Eshell, Soneri grabbed him by the arm and took him along with him.

"Maybe you can be useful on helping me navigate through this forest, because there's no way that I'm going alone into a big messy forest like this one!"

@Demmy @Ringmaster @Hospes

@C.T. @Gummi Bunnies
Oh gods, this isn't what I meant! There's no time for conversation! Oh no... oh no...

Liliya's head was swirling with all sorts of panic. She didn't know much about her own Semblance, only discovering it upon leaving her household. All she knew was that she couldn't control it, and she needed that coat in order to maintain it... While Teanna wanted to have some sort of conversation with her, Liliya knew she couldn't, not when she was a swan at the moment!

With all of that thrashing and flapping her wings around like crazy, Liliya calmed down when another student, Windia, had retrieved her ribbon coat after putting two and two together. That was a complete relief to her, considering that she probably couldn't get anywhere with Teanna from the looks of it... Not wanting to wait until the last minute, she reached out her left wing towards the coat. Out of nowhere, a small flash of light appeared around the swan and the coat, and once it settled down, Liliya was transformed back to her normal form, holding the coat in her hands.

"U-Um... I hope that wasn't too... awkward..."

Embarrassed with how this was going, she hurried to put on the coat before it would be blown away from her grip. She wasn't sure on what to say after this, considering that they all just witnessed the strange Semblance that she had.

Quickly disentangling herself from her impromptu crashpad, Jolyu was nothing short of appalled. Her face was tinted a deep, unwavering red, stunned searching for the proper words.

"S-sorry, ma'am".

As if being shipped off weren't enough of an indignity, Sun-Shin had made herself into an even greater fool. At least her landing strategy worked...somewhat. Regaining some composure at least, the dog faunus knelt down to her colleague so that they would be face to face.

"I suppose we shall be working together. My name is Jolyu Sun-Shin, Martial Lady of Korya. What might your name be?"

"I guess you already have a partner huh? The funny blonde down there, I presume?" She asked Teanna with an inquisitive look on her face.
"That's right! She's Audrey...and kinda grumpy sometimes. A lot. Mostly."

The blonde in question had by this point lifted up into the air to get closer, hovering near Teanna.

"Don't tell her I said that."

The former mob boss waiting and turned his head slightly in confusion as the white haired faunus girl put up a single finger and scrounged through a bag. Before he could say anything the girl slapped a name tag sticker on her chest which Franky hardly having to bend down at all casually reads it allowed. "Bianca...Armod." "Sounds fancy." he jests before looking back to her. "I know it ain't nice to pry so I'll just go with the thought that your the strong n silent type." he jests again though laughing a little this time with a cheerful smile. He knew she could hear him or at the very least read his lips based on the short exchange. She seems so gentle in appearance but if she was here then she was no snowflake. At this point he was only worried that the journey through these woods may be a very one sided conversation. He let out a sigh at the thought. "Well...shall we-"

Before he could finish his sentence he watched her become battle ready, leap over him and attack the charging Grimm Ursa. His head and body turning to watch the whole action in surprise. He quickly reloaded his weapon with regular rounds and quickly readied it, speaking in a hasted manner. "Ok less talk more action!" Saying that as he quickly darted over to one side of the Grimm Ursa and open automatic fire at it's side from ranged. The bullets peppering and piercing the left side of it's torso causing it to bellow angrily from the multiple and repeated impacts.

Oh boy... This was an interesting situation to be placed in straight after landing. Alcander wasn't exactly sure how to respond to the question or the follow up joke as he tilted his head to the side for a moment. All the while his eyes which could be seen through his mask were locked directly with hers for the time being.

"....."I-I suppose it's fine....to er... 'let them all out'. T-though I fail to see why someone my height would cause such a reaction..." Alcander nervously spoke as he stood in place to take in their surroundings. So it seemed like they were in some kind of valley by the looks of it. Well this was certain to be an interesting experience but Alcander could only hope that he and this girl could make it to the academy.
