Nishi Hirashima,
The leader of Team 11 | Ex- ANBU member,
Kirigakure.

Silence from Yukimi and Claire. Nishi was at the ready to mark it clear that she wouldn't tolerate any back talk. But it seemed it wasn't necessary. With the group moving in formation as well walking towards Kirigakure, Nishi kept watching over the group. There wasn't anything that occurred that provoked a reaction from her.

Reaching slowly but surely the perimeter of the Republican capital, Nishi would consider what kind of action she should take. Clearly, her team would require more training before they would be able to deploy on a more important mission. Whistling hard to grab the attention of her team, Nishi would gesture them to halt for a moment.

"Guess this is the last part of the mission. We will guide our 'friends' to the gate and let the guards take over from us. From that point on, you two have deserved some time off. I have gotten some inkling what you both are capable of. Next time we rally up together, we will have a training session. Now, let us finish this." Nishi told them with a friendly tone.

As the team would reach the gates, Nishi would take the word with the guards. An officer would round up a few guards. Once the captives were transferred into the care of the guards, Nishi would once more turn to her students. Her hands placed on her hips as a soft smile was present on the woman's lips. "Okay, this is where the mission ends. Overall, quite a success. You two now can spend some well-deserved peace however you like." Nodding towards the genin and chuunin, Nishi would turn half around. Only stopping for a moment. "Though, don't get into trouble." The jounin would walk away after the playful warning. There was one more obstacle to be dealt with today.

Paperwork.

Yukimi Yuki | Team 11 Chuunin | Kirigakure

If looks could kill, Claire would've had two icy holes bored through her head by the time she finished talking to Yukimi. Though only the harsh looks being given towards the genin betrayed how the Chuunin felt, she had to hold herself back from immediately lashing out at the little brat. The thought of what their team leader might do cooling the Yuki slightly, though it was soon replaced by more anger as she realized that bitch had managed to intimidate her successfully. Focusing her attention back on the genin in front of her, Yukimi wanted nothing more at the moment than to grant the genin's wish. Show her exactly what her 'amazing abilities' could do, and hopefully shutting the brat up in the process. Though that proved to be a far-off fantasy for the Yuki. Murder would not look good on her record, and then no doubt father would be furious. So she bit her tongue as they approached the gates of the capital, and began wrapping up their mission.

Hearing the whistle from Nishi, Yukimi stopped and spun around on a heel. Listening closely to what she explained, Yukimi internally let out a soft sigh. A training so soon? She supposed that to be a good thing, the genin needed some serious help in her abilities. Still, the thought of having to deal with these two again so soon repulsed her. Whatever. She'd do what was needed of her, no more and no less. As the guard took over and Nishi began talking about the mission being a success, Yukimi stopped herself short of rolling her eyebrows. Of course it was a success, it was so stupidly simple she could have probably paid some of father's guards to do it. Hearing that they would have some free time, Yukimi was a bit thankful for that little tidbit. She could go visit her aunt, ask her how to deal with inadequate teammates and irritating jounin.

As Nishi walked away, Yukimi watched her go with an icy stare before turning that gaze on Claire. "Let me make one thing perfectly clear, brat." She began with no hint of emotion in her voice, just a coldness only matched by the plummeting temperature around them. "Know your place. We are not equals, nor friends. I am a member of the upper class, and you nothing but a peasant. That does not give you the right to speak about my personal life." She hissed at the genin before turning and walking away. "Keep your place, genin. Oh, and good work today with all that jazz." She said, though the second half of that statement sounded almost as if she were forcing herself to say it as opposed to meaning it.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="When Will You Learn?, #00B2EE"]Kukiko Yuki, and Yukimi Yuki | Republic of the Water Country, Kirigakure - Kukiko's Apartment
A collaboration between @Jason Targaryen , and @FrostedCaramel
Yukimi shows up at Kukiko's apartment to ask for advice and vent about her new Team. Kukiko is less than pleased with what she hears of her niece's behavior and leaves her with something to strive for in the future to help her better meld with her Team.
[spoili]
Weaving her way through the city streets, the Chuunin made sure to avoid the peasants of the city. She couldn't bare the thought of getting her outfit dirty, it looked cute and all that! Clutching the small box from Father's personal baker, Yukimi forced herself to keep a blank expression as she arrived at her destination. A small apartment that in any other circumstance she would've been disgusted to be near. But, this was an exception. Stopping before the door she knocked three times rather gently before taking a step back, allowing a pleasant look to grow on her features as she awaited her aunt to open the door.

Kukiko had been busy when the knock at her door sounded through her apartment. She had a pot of tea on the stove, and a the newest addition to her collection of books nestled in her lap as she read beneath a blanket at her couch. She sighed as she placed a piece of paper to mark her page and closed the book, leaving it to sit on the table at the foot of the couch. She stood up and made her way to the door, the blanket wrapped around her shoulders as she did. The latch released with a soft click and Kukiko opened the door to find the only person that ever visited her standing at her door.

"I'd say that this is a surprise but then I'd be lying." she stated flatly while stepping out of the doorway to let her niece in, "Come in, come in." she ushered Yukimi in with her free hand. Once her niece was inside she shut and locked the door again and turned to the stove just as the tea kettle began to whistle, "Make yourself comfortable, I know just how much you love tea." Kukiko insisted to Yukimi, a hint of sarcasm in her voice as she took the kettle off the flame and poured herself a cup. Kukiko moved back to her spot on the couch, the tea cup cradled gently in her hands as she walked to soak up as much of its heat as she could manage.

She sat with a soft sound as the cushions gave way beneath her and exchanged her tea for the book on the table. She opened back to her page and continued reading, "What brings you in today Yuki?" she asked, "Did a commoner look your way, or god forbid did one talk to you?" she sneered at her niece, her displeasure with the girls foul attitude toward others obvious as it always was, "Or something a bit more interesting?" she finished as she thumbed to the next page.

Yukimi stepped inside as she was ushered in by her aunt, cringing slightly at some of the harsh words from her. With a slight frown she walked over and placed the box she had on the table. "No Auntie Kiko, they avoided me today. But I brought you some melon bread, though maybe I should eat it myself." She said with a slight pout as she went and plopped herself down in the chair opposite the room. "It's from father's baker as well, he's really good at sweets and such. Maybe I just came because I wanted to be able to talk to somebody for once." She said with a pointed glare before looking away again. "I have a new Team, I wanted to talk about them. Well… I'm not fond of them so maybe I can ask your advice on what I should do to make it work?" She said with a slight shrug.

Kukiko raised an eyebrow as she listened to her niece, continuing to read as the young woman in front of her spoke. She nodded along slowly, not removing her eyes from pages of her book as Yukimi went on. Kukiko breathed out softly, placing the book with its cover up on her legs as she reached over to the table and took a single piece of the melon bread from the bag Yukimi had brought. She ate it quickly, the small biscuit sized baked good making for a quick snack before she picked up her tea cup and took a sip, the hot liquid burning her mouth slightly only to be almost immediately cooled off as she removed the cup from her lips.

"Tell your father's baker he has my regards, the bread is delicious." she said as she placed her tea cup back on its coaster and leaned back into her couch. She took her book back up and found where she had left off, "So what's wrong with your team this time? Tell me so I can try and help maybe?" Kukiko offered from her position without looking at her niece.

"He's the best. I'll give him your regards, Auntie." Yukimi said with a polite smile and a nod. Thinking about her new team, she closed her eyes and let out a drawn out sigh. "They're the worst! We have a stupid Genin who's useless and thinks she can just pry into my personal business. She couldn't handle herself against bandits. I could have taken them by myself if we did it my way. She's stupid. She's not even pretty either!" She ranted out quickly, also calling the Genin a few other unsavory things before sighing once more. "Then the leader is some bitch I've never heard of before. Seems to favor the stupid Genin. Even worse, she used some technique to threaten us and say that if we did anything she doesn't like she'd adjust the report and ensure we come back with some scars. who the hell does she think she is to think she can lay a finger on me!?" She said, more emotion creeping in and her hands shaking slightly as she talked about the team leader. At the same time, the temperature in the room plummeted in response to the Yuki's emotional state. "How do I deal with stupid people?" She muttered, looking towards her aunt as if Kukiko would have all the answers.

Kukiko's train of thought as she read was interrupted when her niece told her she had been threatened by her Jounin with some sort of a technique, her eyes looked up from the words of the book and rested on Yuki, she raised her elbow up to her mouth and coughed before speaking, "What do you mean threatened you? With a technique?" she asked curiously, "I'm not sure I'm following… Why are they stupid," she noticed the air getting colder and her niece jittering in her seat, "If they were stupid… Why would it scare you?" she asked as she placed her book down on the table and picked up the tea cup once more, she had to finish it before Yuki froze it solid on accident.

She frowned slightly as she tried to think of how to explain it. "This immense pressure that was coming from her. Like her presence was all around or something. Then said if we do anything she doesn't like we would come back with new scars." She muttered, looking away slightly as if ashamed that she were scared. "The genin is stupid because she pries and can't handle herself in the field. The leader is stupid because she can't run a team without threats." She said, huffing and crossing her arms. "And I'm not scared!" She protested to her aunt.

'Pressure…' Kukiko wasn't familiar with what it might have been, were it the intent to do harm she was sure that Yuki would have understood that, but pressure wasn't something within the realm of simply reaching for an answer. She sipped at her tea, noticeably cooler than it had been when she'd placed it on the table the first time, "That's interesting to say the least." she responded before taking another sip of her tea, "It's not exactly good form to threaten your team to get what you want as a Team Leader but… If there's a worry you may not obey and simply using that authority position isn't enough, well…" she pointed to Yuki and spun her hand around in a manner that suggested Yuki knew the answer to where she was going with her sentence, "I'd say it's justified but bad form nonetheless." she stated, brushing past the part where Yukimi got embarrassed over being scared..

Kukiko took another sip of her tea, almost gone at this point and almost too cold to be good anymore, "As for your Genin teammate…" she sighed and looked to her niece, "She's a Genin, they're not supposed to be able to handle themselves in the field… It's why there's a Team Leader, and in some cases, a Chuunin such as yourself." she placed her empty tea cup on the table and pulled her knees to her chest as she began to cough. The coughing lasted for almost ten seconds before Kukiko continued talking as if nothing had happened, "You're the most experienced other than your Jounin sure… But don't act like you were never in that Genin's position." she turned back to grab her book but stopped herself.

"As important as it is for your Jounin to mold you both into fine Shinobi, it's just as much your responsibility to make sure that that Genin has every opportunity to make it to where you are today." she pointed a finger at her niece, "Don't shoot everyone down because they're not your perfect image of a person Yuki, it's impractical. You'll remain the cold as ice Yukimi that everyone hears stories about for the rest of your life if you don't start to thaw that heart of yours." she said bluntly to her niece.

"Yuki's are always cold. Cold yet beautiful." She said, just repeating one of the many lessons she'd received from her father. "The Genin annoys me. Then she also mentioned that I was so lucky to live my life. She doesn't know a damn thing." Yukimi said, turning away and look saddened. "How do I deal with the leader? She didn't really warn us or anything, just out of nowhere went all 'I'm gonna scar you if you annoy me.' I don't even know why!" Yukimi said deciding to tackle one thing at a time.

Kukiko shot up out of her seat at the comment from Yukimi, the words sounded in her head with her brothers voice, the words their mother had so often used to push them on, twisted and misused by her very own brother. "Don't ever use that phrase in my house." she sneered at her niece, the normal laid back warmth that called her face home had been replaced by a pale white, she grit her teeth and spoke through a barred mouth, "I don't need your father any closer to me than he already is." she stayed standing for a moment staring her niece down before her face went soft again. She took a seat and composed herself, "Sorry I shouldn't have lashed out." she apologized before getting back to the matter at hand.

"For starters, I'd not give her any reasons to give you scars from now on…" she trailed off for a moment, "...And maybe lose your attitude as best you can around her? It'd probably help. As for why she threatened you both in such a way, maybe she's used to far more disciplined groups then the Genin and you?" she replied.

As Kukiko turned on her, the temperature in the apartment plummeted in reaction to the sudden snap. Yukimi's eyes wide at seeing her otherwise calm Aunt suddenly so angered. She hadn't intended to repeat anything from her father… it just came out. Was she like him? Yukimi fretted over these thoughts as she bowed her head in apology while Kukiko sat back down. "I forgot, Auntie. I'm sorry for using anything from him. Please don't be mad.". Her tone softer as she apologized, not wanting to provoke another outburst from the woman.

"Back to the topic, my attitude was fine around her. I was respectful towards her and I don't understand what groups could be more disciplined. I try to remain neutral when working, like fa-... Like I should be." Yukimi said, frowning as she thought about it. Recalling how she'd been rather cold towards the Genin, even telling her multiple times to not get in her way. Something she thought was rather fair, as the Genin would only be an obstacle. "I wasn't exactly nice to the Genin but she was just… too much. So maybe that played in?"

Kukiko simply smiled acceptance of her nieces apology, taking almost no notice to the sudden drop in temperature of the room, she was happy that she had finished her tea earlier though. She tilted her head to the side a question growing across her face before she spoke, "Perhaps it was your treatment of the Genin then? If I had a Chuunin treating a Genin like they were worth less than the dirt on their boots…" she shrugged and picked her book back up, "then I'd probably respond rather harshly, first to the group… and if the problem persists after that," she pointed at Yuki, staring directly at her, "Then I'd bring the pain on the problem." she finished before going back to her book.

Yukimi crossed her arms and turned her head away from Kukiko, not getting the answer she wanted. "The Genin is worth less to me than the dirt on my boots. The leader can't bring the pain on me, I'm too important. Does she even know who my father is?!" She complained, crossing her arms and clearly oblivious to how much of a brat she sounded like. They weren't worth her effort, right? Unless they were how she wanted, Yukimi couldn't be bothered with others.

Kukiko rolled her eyes as she read, it didn't seem her niece was going to get over her superiority complex, at least not today sadly. "I'm sure she knows exactly who you are Yuki, we get a copy of your record when you get assigned to us," she pointed through the open door to her room, implying she had her own teams records somewhere within, "If I'm being blunt here…" She turns to Yukimi, "You put up quite a tough front to seem like it doesn't bother you, to seem like you really believe your Jounin can't touch you," She shrugged and went back to her book, "but if you really believed you couldn't be harmed by your Jounin… Would you even be afraid of her in the first place?".

"I'm not afraid of her!" Yukimi exclaimed, before her face turned a bright red as she realized she'd yelled at her aunt. "I'm sorry Auntie, I didn't mean to yell!" She said frantically, trying to apologize as she turned away again. After a long few moments of silence she looked up as a bit of the overconfidence seemed to fade away. "Is it that obvious?" She asked in a softer tone, worried that her mask was slipping.

Kukiko merely nodded acceptance of her nieces apology after she raised her voice not removing her eyes from the words of her page. She waited for a few moments after Yuki finished, the feeling of the need to cough growing in her chest but finally amounting to nothing annoyed her but it meant she wouldn't have to wait to talk.

Kukiko placed her book back on the table and swung her legs off the couch and onto the floor. Clasping her hands together she placed them in her lap while she leaned forward towards Yukimi, "I've seen and done some terrible things for this land, and you expect me not to be able to tell when my own niece is bothered by something?" She let out a short laugh, "I was there when your mother gave birth to you, and I've been there since. What kind of an Aunt would I be if I couldn't tell when there's something wrong with you? I'd be no better than your father." She said as she watched her niece.

"It's painfully obvious." She leaned her head to the side and frowned, "Can't you… Just for once, play nice with others?" She asked, the plea in her voice barely obvious as she spoke.

Watching as Kukiko swung her legs off the couch, Yukimi once more grew worried that she had somehow angered her aunt. This fear was soon enough out to rest however, as the woman began addressing her about why she knew what she did. Hearing the mention of her father, Yukimi flinched. Not out of fear or anger, but because she knew such a thing to be true. Father wouldn't notice even if she directly told him something was wrong. Then a frown appeared as Kukiko mentioned her thoughts to be painfully obvious. Followed by that simple question, yet the girl was focusing on the fact that Kukiko had so easily seen through her mask.

"It can't be obvious! I worked forever to not show anything. Father would kill me if he saw that I looked weak and showed emotion!" She said quickly, more concerned with what he would think than how it affected her. She shook her head before locking her icy blue eyes with Kukiko's. "I can't play nice with others because they aren't worth my time. Father says we can't mix with peasants, that it ruins the family's reputation." She said, as if that line of thought made perfect sense.

Kukiko unclasped her hands and brought them to her face, rubbing them as Yuki seemed to spill over her thoughts on the matter. The mention of her brother brought a tinge of anger to her mind but this time she managed to control it, "I'm not sure I'll ever be able to help you change." She said softly through the hands at her face.

She placed her hands back down at her lap and a sad little smile appeared over her face, "It took me too long to realize that your father didn't care about anyone but himself, I just want you to realize that sooner than I did." She said as the sad little smile remained, there was a hint of pain in her face as she spoke but she continued, "Do you know why your father and I are on such bad terms? Because it's exactly what you just said." She sighed and turned to the bookshelf at her side then back to Yukimi, "The idea that if we mixed with commoners we would be worthless." Her smile disappeared and her lips pulled thin, "Maybe one day I'll tell you just why that is so very wrong, but not today. You need to figure out more on your own first."

Yukimi sat in a stunned silence at the sad smile on her aunt's face. The hints of pain across her features, reflected slightly in the Chuunin's own features at seeing Kukiko seemingly upset. Did father really care about nobody else? Not mother, not herself? That couldn't be true, right? He always said he was doing everything for the family. For them. But still, something clearly happened to Kukiko to make her think that way. The moment Kukiko's words were replaced by silence in the air, Yukimi was out of the chair and quickly across the room. Wrapping her aunt in a hug in a spoke in a soft tone laced with emotion.

"I'm sorry for whatever Father did, Auntie. I-I don't know if I can agree with you about Father not caring. But you know so much more. I... can I do anything to help you? I'll even try to be nicer to others, like you want. Promise." The girl said softly, wanting to promise anything to see her aunt's mood improve.

Kukiko simply sat as her niece moved across the room and hugged her, the pained expression on her face only growing as Yukimi spoke to her so close, she wrapped her arms around Yuki and squeezed, "For starters, treat your team with the dignity and respect they really deserve, not that you think they deserve." There was a pause, Kukiko dropped her arms and sighed again, "Second, I love you Yuki, so so very much, but I need you to get out of my house." There was more sadness in her voice, and were she not so cold she could have sworn she was going to cry.

Whenever Kukiko dropped her arms, Yukimi stepped away from the hug. For some reason, the pain only seemed to be worse for Kukiko. She felt an intense pang of guilt over the sadness. Worried she had caused it somehow. Nodding towards Kukiko, Yukimi decided she would do what her Aunt asked. She seemed to care so much about it. "I'll try my best Auntie. Promise I will. I'm really sorry if I've upset you so much. I'll… you know how to reach me if you need. Please feel better Auntie." She said with a bowed head, before turning and heading out the apartment door.

As she made her way back through the streets, heading towards Father's mansion she thought about what had happened. Something her father had done had really hunt her Aunt. Yukimi had never gotten the details, just that father and her aunt never talked anymore. Moreso, something about his lessons to really upset her. Yet for some reason seeing Auntie Kiko upset bothered the Yuki more than the thought of father being upset. With this thought on her mind, Yukimi resolved to make good on her promise. Showing her team the respect they deserve, and first that meant apologizing to the genin. Heading home to first get her purse, Yukimi would need to go find the genin and try to make amends for her previous behavior.[/spoili]
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Beware of Your Valuables, #00B2EE"]Kukiko Yuki | Jounin of Team 17 | Republic of the Water Country, Kirigakure, Near Kitoka Square

@Walter Swan @malina
It was misting today, much like almost any other day in all of Kukiko's memory, and it wasn't a bother, it never was. Growing up in a place like Kirigakure, you came to simply shrug at the rain and continue your day as if the sun were high in the sky and everything were dry, it was as normal a part of life as the air she breathed or the beating of her own heart in her chest. Just any other day in the life.

She could feel the small beads of water forming on her jacket and every so often running down the sides of her sleeves and dropping to the ground, she wanted badly to freeze it and just shake it off like normal but she couldn't give herself away that easily. She had been there for almost twenty minutes scouting out Kitoka Square, and by now it was very possible that she had been made by their enemy, anyone with a brain could look in her direction and with a little bit of focus spot the flak jacket beneath her raincoat as it popped out of the collar of her hood, but only if you were actively looking for someone trying to blend in would she be spotted.

Kukiko turned to look around the area, there were occasional stalls lining the roads, getting denser the closer one got to the center of Kitoka Square which opened up into a completely open square that people traveled through and conversed in with stalls lining all around its perimeter.. Plenty of alleyways, open doors, and obscured areas from stalls to hide or fall back into were scattered about the area. It was not a good place to have to be actively searching out an enemy, yet here her and her team would soon be doing exactly that, attempting to find an unknown number of individuals in the ever growing bustle of Kitoka Square ahead of her. She turned to the side, facing down the road that led out of Kitoka Square and began to search out for her team. She had sent both Shika and Shion messages late last night to meet in front of the small tea shop, "Hyouka", only vaguely explaining that they had a mission to complete and to try and look as normal as possible while maintaining their ability to both defend themselves and prove who they were if the need arose.

She wondered for a moment if she should have been clear on the fact that headbands were needed, but not to be worn at first, a second later and a cough or two and she found herself not worry too much about it. If anyone was going to be made in this, it was going to be the notoriously sickly Jounin with a flak jackets collar barely peaking out of the neck of her pulled up hood.

Claire Rose,
Genin of Team 11,

Kirigakure, East Gate.

As they approached the city their leader spoke up. So the Jounin already had plans to train them? Was that good or bad? Claire was unsure. Of course it meant that she could work on her weaknesses so she was happy that training was already in the works. Once at the gate she looked at Nishi. Being told to not get into trouble seemed self explanatory but older people always advised such. "I won't sensei! Have a good day!" She smiled as the woman left. Suddenly the temperature plummeted as Yukimi began to speak.

Claire turned to listen and her smile faded at the words. Well so much for staying out of trouble. It took less than a minute and now it seemed there was obvious tension between the Genin and the Chuunin. As her teammate walked off her head dropped and she held onto her arm. Was it really so bad to be excited about being in a team with someone who was well known? It seemed Yukimi only saw her as lesser, while she saw the other as higher. Which now the Yuki seemed like a bitch. Cold just like the name. Alone the blonde kicked some dirt and sighed, making her way into the city. Was this worth it? To become a shinobi? Claire found herself at a small park. Sitting on a swing she kicked herself to start moving.

The equipment creaked as she swung back and forth, looking up at the sky. She did all of this for her sister. To get revenge and to be a Shinobi that could be on the same level of her late sibling. Golden locks waved through the air as she gazed up. Nishi seemed kind but strict. Yukimi at first seemed helpful but now.. not so much. Her team didn't click and that was clear. And for a squad to do well they needed to work together. She knew that much for sure and she remembered how her sister was in a similar situation. Losing herself in thought Claire swung too far and ended up slipping from the seat.

Dust and dirt feathered out as she collided with the ground. A groan left her as she just stared at the clouds. Occasionally the swing flying past over head until it came to a stop. To lose hope and give up or to tough it out? Of course it was only day one on the job and with her new team but first impressions set the foundation to any relationship. Threats were looking common with the team yet she couldn't find herself to say the same. As much as she would want to defend herself, such things were unprofessional and she wanted to be seen as a Shinobi. Not some joke who couldn't handle pressure from time to time. Sitting up she brushed some of the dust off of her clothing, clunk! Falling back down as the swing hit her forehead she groaned once more.

"If that isn't a sign. I am not sure what is.." Rubbing her forehead, which was slightly flushed now, Claire waited until she was certain the wooden plank was done moving. Sitting up once more she got to her feet and further dusted off her clothes. A small leaf from a nearby tree fell and landed on her hand and she looked over. "Yeah yeah.. you don't gotta tell me." She spoke to herself as if she knew what the leaf signified. To anyone who watched her they would be confused. A young woman on a swing, smacked against the face by the swing then talking to herself. Yup brain damage for sure.

Shion approached the teashop, Hyouka, wearing a light-pink kimono with her normal white sleeveless low-cut kimono underneath. Her katana was hidden underneath the larger kimono by using a special shoulder strap to attach it to the left side of her hip vertically. If she needed to fight, she would open up her kimono and undo a clip on her strap to allow her to draw her sword like normal. It was an awkward setup but a slight discomfort was nothing compared to a decent level of concealment. As long as she kept a prim and proper pace and not allow anyone to touch her on her left-side, she would just look like a dainty girl in a pink kimono.

After a few minutes of searching around the entrance, Shion saw a woman wearing a raincoat and, most importantly, what seemed to be a collar of the Jonin flak jacket popping out of the collar of her hood. That could be Kukiko, she thought as she approached her, confirming her thoughts as she noticed the familiar white hair and pale face underneath the hood. Judging from her outfit, they were certainly performing a covert operation.

"Good day to you, sensei," the young girl greeted the jonin with a faux-noble woman voice as she handed her a handkerchief, "Are you taking good care of your health? Ufufufu~"

A relatively long collab between Winter and Lesli
Part 2

Summary:
The next morning after arriving in Magnhild with team 8, Aiko sets out to venture back to the 'Thirsty Boar' - where she arranged some lodges for her students. Once gathering up with Satia, the two spend some time together. Talking, shopping and relaxing.

Part 1

[spoili]
She was glad to hear the Jounin agree with her and though perhaps Aiko was merely wishing things differently, something she could certainly appreciate. She continued to take small sparing bites from her bread between sips of tea as she listened and nodded, giving a small smile as Aiko finished. "Oh no, I have no resentment. It was a testing moment for me to be able to behave and remain calm, not to say I was using the mission as a training exercise... but I was able to find my resolve and adapt to the requirement of the mission, and I was able to learn from it on reflection on how I handled my role. As we discussed last time I feel I could have done things better or perhaps differently with less risk factors" she paused before cocking her head to the side, "I am curious though, why did you chose me when Tomiko could likely have fitted the role and with more experience" she asked.

Glad about the answer Aiko laid down her bread for a moment to pick up her cup. Upon hearing the question, Aiko found herself surprised but not in any sense disturbed. Blowing gently on the surface of her tea, Aiko would lower the cup slightly as she provided an answer. "Tomiko was too unstable. She had lost her brother and gave me enough doubts to even consider to keep her out of the mission. Yet, I decided to give her a chance. However, one that wouldn't endanger the mission." The woman paused as she blew once more in a gentle fashion, before continuing.

"Then there is the factor of age. True, Tomiko has her qualities but she would have been less suitable. You do don't have eyes that make you stand out. Nor were you troubled by some emotional trauma. All in all, you were the better option. Cause I don't think I could have convinced either Kazumo or Neji to hoist themselves into the same role." Aiko concluded, briefly smiling before taking a sip of her tea.

Satia's smile faded as she heard about the troubles of Tomiko, looking down at her cup of tea as she sighed a little, shaking her head. "What a shame, I had no idea what she was going through" she replied. The Genin better understood why Aiko had made her choice and asking one of the boys to place themselves in a dress was an obvious reason as to why they weren't asked. Nevertheless she felt sorry for the girl, more so now that she was unaware of Tomiko's loss. "I see your point though" she replied eventually, her smile returning when Aiko mentioned the boys. "In any case the mission went well, your plan execution befit your reputation Aiko-Sensei" she grinned, raising her cup a little before taking a sip. She took a moment to herself to conjure a question, wondering if she could maybe poke the Jounin for some information to gain perspective. "If I may be so bold, what are your views on our clan and our goals?" she asked curiously.

Aiko took another sip of her tea. Letting the flavour flow over her taste buds, she would slightly lean backwards while crossing her legs. When Satia stated that her plan befits her reputation, Aiko scoffed in an amused fashion. "Now, now. I didn't expect compliments and I am horrible at receiving them, at times. But thank you, dear." The woman replied.

Taking another sip before placing the cup down, Aiko would pick up her bread. The question of Satia was met with an amused expression present on Aiko's facial features. "In most other situations, you would gain a lie from me. I am quite cautious with sharing my plans and opinions when it comes down to politics. However, I will try to amuse you." Pausing for a mere second, Aiko would lock her eyes on Satia's. "I think that our clan hasn't recovered from our fall to decline. The jarls are obedient but still squabble with one another. We could have had much more. In the past, we were feared and demanded respect by just name far and wide. Now I dare to say that most won't feel a sense of dread when our clan's name is uttered with a threat. Thus my plan is simple."

Aiko flashed a smile. "I am going to ensure and continue that our bonds with the Hon and Sarutobi remain strong. I will attend to the jarls and keep them obedient. Then improving our own strengths. There is so much that can be improved in terms of infrastructure and economy. Aid from the Hon and Sarutobi means that we have military protection but in due time I want to expand that as well. Or, any case, build the foundation for my successor to work on that with ample resources."

The young Genin paid critical attention as Aiko spoke and gave her reply, somewhat surprised that she was being given an honest answer rather than the usual patriotism that was usually spoken without heart or much meaning behind it. As the Jounin spoke Satia's smile grew till she shared a satisfied expression across her features, "Ah! I am most pleased to hear that. For whatever it is worth, you have my support in that venture and I happen to agree with you" she said, tilting her head as her tone changed to convey her shared opinion to what Aiko had responded with. "There are certainly differences to be made that can strengthen our clan, albeit some don't see the bigger picture as you do Aiko-Sensei, which is a shame given our extensive history" she replied. The young Cho picked up her bread and finished it before taking a small sip from her tea to take the bitterness from the tea away.

The answer of the genin was interesting to say. Aiko had expected something alongside the line of something that displayed pride, that the clan didn't need to be improved. Remembering Yukara, Aiko had to tell herself that Satia wasn't the same as the previous Cho. For the better, it thus seemed so far. "You would say that our history would be enough to keep us bound together instead of squabble and argue about this or that plot of land. I even wish that I could arrange some more expeditions like our clan used to do in old times. Not as much as raiding but venturing out to trade and explore the southern parts of the known world."

Releasing a sigh, Aiko would take a small bite of her bread. Chewing the bite away, she spoke again. "But my plans will require some time. And with a bit of luck, they won't encounter much resistance."

Satia nodded as she listened, agreeing with the older Cho before letting her mind wonder somewhat to what it'd be like if Aiko saw her ambitions for their clan to fruition. "Quite an undertaking, but not impossible" she replied simply, "I like to believe anything is achievable if one tries hard enough, after all" her words were ones that'd perhaps been repeated countless times in other variations, but the thought was there. Satia was about to press with another question when a young boy, likely around her own age approached the table, clearing his throat to gain their attention. "Excuse me, apologies for the interruption" he began, inclining his head forwards respectfully to the two women. "I'm looking for Satia Cho, I was informed she would be a young woman befitting your description" he looked from Aiko towards Satia as he spoke.

The Genin looked to Aiko briefly before looking back to the young boy dressed in a thick dark raincoat with a hood, "That'd be me, what would you ask of me?" she asked curiously, wondering what intention this boy could have. Her guard was up and she wondered for a moment if she'd missed a trick when her eyes had swept over the others sitting having conversations at other tables. The young boy shook his head, "Nothing ma'am, merely needed to give you this... I'm a courier you see" he reached into his jacket and withdrew a letter before presenting it to Satia, causing her to raise her eyebrows before taking it from the boy. "Thank you... " she replied, reaching to a pouch secured to her waist before withdrawing a coin to give to the boy. He bowed his head before taking his leave, allowing the Cho their privacy once more.

Her brow slowly furrowed as she looked down at the letter, turning it over to see a rather familiar seal on it, one that belonged to her house. Almost immediately she was filled with a small amount of anxiety, wondering what her father could possibly have to say, given it'd been some time since she'd written home due to lack of opportunity. "My apologies Aiko-Sensei, ordinarily I would wait to read this out of courtesy... but it appears this is reaching me from home" she said breaking the seal and reading the words, her expression remaining fairly neutral till she read on, her brow furrowing deeper.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dear Satia,
I hope that this letter reaches you in good health. Your mother has been doing well, though asking for when you would come back home. She has once more raised her concern regarding your choice of vocation, as I share her concern. The life of a soldier is a dangerous one, after all, despite the honor that can be won. For both you and our lineage. We would prefer if you would still return home and pick a vocation that would be less dangerous but just as honorable. Various offers have been made by my hersirs and some other thegns in the jarldom. I might even arrange a position among the court of the Jarl, would that pique your interest.
You might have heard but we are making preparations for a feast. Many hersirs as thegns come to attend. Some have been curious to if you would be here as well. Much like the previous time, I anticipate that some of my hersirs will bring gifts to win your favor. As we both know, your mother already is looking quite forward to use it as spending some time together.
Yet, I have received an interesting request of late. The Lord of the Hon clan has written me. He stated interest as respect for our lineage as position. Grateful as I was for the letter, he further desired to honor our lineage with an offer of an arrangement. If you would accept to marry his nephew, you would honor our lineage. Your mother has expressed her hope that you won't turn this right away down. She has brought many sacrifices to the gods and ancestors in hope that you'll consider this proposition. In case you desire the name or might help you to consider it, the candidate's name is Koike Hon. He is the White Blade of the clan. I have heard some good word about the young man. However, the choice resides with you. I am certain you will do what is best for our lineage.
The feast will be held soon. Please do write us as soon as your able.
With much love, Your father.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Satia read the letter twice before setting it down, her eyes staring at her tea as if she were processing the information. "It appears my father wishes for me to marry once more, to a man by the name of Koike Hon...." the Genin eventually spoke before letting forth a small sigh. It hadn't been the first time her mother and father had tried to find her a suitor, though unlike before when she was younger it seemed now she was being given a choice, rather than being told it was what she had to do. Perhaps now they better understood her, which she could certainly appreciate. The young Cho picked up her tea and took a sip to calm her anxiety, almost forgetting the Jounin for a moment before it clicked, "Oh, forgive me Aiko-Sensei, the news has somewhat distracted me...".

The older Cho briefly shot a look at the courier. Taking a sip of her tea, she would nod in the direction of Satia. "Please, no need to apologise." She told her student while enjoying her piece of bread and tea. Of course, curiosity was building up within Aiko. But the woman would not raise any question for it wasn't her concern what the content of the letter held.

About to take another small sip to empty her cup, Aiko's movement froze for a mere second. Taking the sip, she would flash a smile. "Understandable. Not every day does one receive a letter from home, about a potential suitor or match. Take it easy, Satia." Aiko said. However, Aiko wouldn't take it easy herself. Her brain was working and progressing the information as fast as possible. Koike was in the east and Aiko doubted that he was interested in a politically arranged marriage. Unless he had met Satia before? Highly unlikely, she thought as she threw a subtle glance at the young woman.

"Honestly," she began with a softer tone, "This has me a bit distracted as well. Not every day you expect to wake up with the plan to hear that one of your old students is going to be elected as a suitor, to a newer student. The world can be quite small indeed." There was a sliver of amusement ringing through Aiko's tone as she would refill her cup with tea. "If you would desire, you have found yourself a fountain of knowledge on the White Blade. If anything, the code of conduct regarding arranged marriages is that you have an option to either decline or agree. Though it might be something you have plenty of time to decide upon. Koike is, after all, not even on the same continent as us right now. " Looking at Satia's cup, Aiko flashed a smile as she already reached out to the other small boiler. "More tea?"

Time to Fight

As they gathered once more, preparing to move into the next room, Tentou took a breath, glancing towards her two teammates. She had not initially been worried about Shikaroku's abilities, however, the encounter in the previous room had caused some concern to begin festering. The genin's kill had been far from clean. Either he was nervous about killing, or he had made a mistake. Neither option really spoke well about his ability to handle himself in a life or death situation. Tentou only hoped that whatever had happened was a freak accident.

Turning her attention back to Hiron, she prepared herself, watching as the jounin moved into the room. Yiko entered, a second afterwards, quickly going to assist Hiron. Tentou entered behind, looking quickly to see where Yiko and Hiron were, before moving to the other side of the room to engage one of the two remaining enemies. While she had hoped to get the drop on the man, he had had enough time to grab his weapon and was ready for the chuunin's attack. Lunging towards him with a quick feint, the man moved to block it and Tentou took advantage of it, shifting and managing to land a shallow cut across his arm.

Grimacing in pain as the knife dug into his flesh, the man lowered his arm slightly bringing his sword around with the other. Tentou shifted backwards to avoid the incoming weapon, but the man took a page out of her book and sent a vicious kick her way, catching her on the inside of her knee while her attention was on the sword. Letting out a gasp of air as the pain hit her, Tentou wheeled backwards, managing to avoid the blade still and put some distance between herself and the enemy. Seemed this wasn't going to be quite as easy as she thought...

Shikaroku followed his teammates into the room, a queasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. There was no time for hesitation, however. His teammates needed him. He had nearly let them down once already. It would not happen again.

As he stepped into the room, his eyes caught the scene in front of him and, for a split second, it seemed as if time had slowed. Hiron was engaged with an enemy at one end of the room, seemingly holding his own. Two enemies were already down, though one appeared to be in the process of trying to regain his footing. Tentou was at the far end of the room fighting a tall man wielding a strange looking sword. Shikaroku glanced towards the Uchiha, who had locked blades with the last enemy. He could see blood leaking from the boy's nose and quickly made his decision.

Taking two swift steps into the room, Shikaroku lined his kunai up, aiming for the man who was trying to stand. Inhaling sharply, the Nara fired the projectile towards the man, watching as it sunk deep into his spine, causing him to lurch forwards and fall once more, this time remaining still. Continuing to move forward, Shikaroku focused his attention on the enemy that Yiko was fighting.

Don't think, don't think, don't think.

Launching himself forward, Shikaroku collided with the man's midsection, tackling him and sending them both careening across the floor. The Nara used his momentum to his advantage, rolling and raising himself to a knee in one smooth motion. Looking up, Shikaroku watched as the man also regained his footing, now standing between Yiko and himself. The man glanced down at the genin who had tackled him, a look of hatred crossing his face. Realizing that the boy was not holding a weapon, the glare turned into a wicked sneer. And he raised his own weapon, ready to charge the Nara.

Reaching back for his weapon's pouch, Shikaroku grasped a kunai and brought it around, hoping he wouldn't be too late...

Part 2

[spoili]
The Genin heard Aiko's words and looked almost startled to learn that the mentioned man in her letter had also been a former student to her current teacher. The world was quite small indeed and Satia for a moment was trying to get her head around the course of events. When she was offered more tea she gave a polite nod, "Please, I think more tea would help settle me right now" she replied. It'd been quite a long time since she'd even considered the prospect of marriage, yet it seemed to be knocking at her doorstep once more. "Ordinarily I would turn something such as this down quite quickly without hesitation... however, this time appears different, just in the tone of the letter itself". Satia looked at Aiko, thinking that if the Jounin knew more about the man then perhaps it might be prudent to learn what she could about this... Koike Hon. "I suppose if you're offering up information on your former student, I would be ill-advised to decline it," she said eventually.

Pouring some more tea into the cup of Satia, Aiko was curious what kind of letters Satia had received before. But if the tone was different, then that was perhaps for the better? Not that it was something the jounin considered any of her affairs. "I wouldn't mind. Though, I must say," she would place the small boiler back on the plate before picking up her own cup. "It is clear that I do have a certain affection towards the young man. To date, he has been my most successful student. Question is, what would you be most interested in, regarding Koike?"

The reply somewhat surprised the young Cho and started to paint the start of a picture of the kind of man Koike was. The fact Aiko taught him meant he was Shinobi, or had been at some point in his life. Though that didn't tell her much about him specifically given there were plenty of people within the Shinobi with less than favorable traits within their personality. The question was a difficult one to answer from the Jounin, though Satia eventually decided that honesty was probably for the best in this situation. "There is much I would have to consider and preferably I would meet with him before a decision is made. I suppose intelligence, common ground and shared affinity is something I look for... though, I would be lying if I didn't confess my worries of marrying a man who would have me forget my ambitions and stay home..." the Genin tapped her finger against her cup as she thought. "I can't think of a specific question, I think perhaps just telling me of the kind of man he is would be a good start. If you can withhold a bias" she gave a small amused smile at the end.

Raising her own cup with both her hands, Aiko felt the warmth radiating. Instead of risking to burn her lips or tongue, she would wait and see what the response would be of Satia. At the same time, Aiko couldn't help but wonder what Koike would think or say about this arrangement. It was unlikely that he was aware of it, due to his current predicament in the east. "Most understandable. Only most reasonable to ask before making a decision." Thinking for a second, Aiko couldn't help but smile faintly. "I can withhold my bias but if I have to say what kind of man he is? Then I would say independent. Honest, to being perhaps blunt. Not to mention, humble as not very 'present'. You know," the jounin tried to come up with the word, a frustrated sigh leaving her lips.

"He is not one for boasting or asserting himself as somebody that needs to be paid any attention, because of just being there. As for your ambitions? I wouldn't be too certain. Koike is a man of duty but not the kind of conservative traditional duty." The mere thought of Koike ordering another to fill in a 'traditional' role of a wife was amusing. Remembering Korina, Aiko was almost near to bring that up to give an example. "Thus, I would further say that he is kind. To the point that he is stark loyal to those he considers dear." Briefly, Aiko had to struggle against the urge to remember a few dear memories.

Satia paid close attention to what she was being told, raising her own cup as to absorb the warmth as she listened. The words were comforting, answering some of the many questions she had about the man she'd yet to meet. The Genin shifted rather uncomfortably as she adjusted her position in her seat before asking her next question. "I see, well that's certainly good news. I couldn't imagine being made to stay at home like some kind of prized possession. Such a thing isn't uncommon in Taika culture, which of course is where my ancestry hails from" she paused, "I.. don't know how else to ask this and I'm rather embarrassed about it, so bear with me" she could already feel the warmth in her face a little, "Is he... easy to look at?" she asked curiously, being light with her words on the subject.

Aiko was glad that the cup she was holding was nowhere her lips. Blinking rapidly twice, the jounin wasn't sure what to say. When she thought about Koike, she couldn't say that he was handsome or ugly. There was a certain motherly pride and affection but if she had to withhold her bias, what would her opinion then be? Pondering on the question, Aiko could conjure a clear image of Koike in her mind.
"He has some scars. Which might be hard to ignore at first. But nothing that makes him hard to look at, in my opinion. He has short black hair and dark eyes. He is somewhat my length, just a bit taller but nothing out of the ordinary."

This was harder than she could imagine, at first. Aiko's eyes would half close as she tried to think of what more she could inform Satia about. There was the playful thought of just trying to paint Koike as some mysterious and wanted person. But she doubted that Satia would easily fall for that. "Last time I saw him, he had stubbles. He does usually shave, so doubt he will have a beard anytime soon."

The younger Cho nodded as she listened, collecting the information and storing it among the rest she'd heard of him thus far. Of course nothing she could be told about his personality or his appearance would measure against meeting him for herself, though if that were even possible was another thing entirely. "I see" she replied, once again pausing before giving a light shrug, brightening up a little bit. "I suppose none of it really matters in the end, I'll need to meet him for myself... then again, perhaps I am simply not his type and he'll reject the arrangement anyway". Satia watched the vapor trail from her cup for a moment before adding, "It is only out of respect for my father I haven't immediately done so myself, It is not below me to meet this man and see for myself... regardless of actual intention".

The older Cho was wondering about that as well. If she had to go by the previous romances - of which she, at least, was aware of - then she couldn't really say certainly if Satia was or wasn't Koike's type. She was calmer than Korina. Not to mention outspoken as the Kusanagi. Then there was that certain ANBU. Comparing her with Satia, Aiko wasn't certain how far she should go. Besides, she didn't know Satia that well either. Yet.
"If you worry about your own appearance, don't fret. Judging from what I have seen him... associate with before, you'll be doing more than fine." Aiko said, unable to resist to grin a bit. "Besides, from what I have seen so far, you aren't too far apart from him. Though you might be a tad better than he was, with being a genin." Letting a pause follow her words, Aiko would raise her cup to gently blow on the cup content's surface.

Lowering her cup once more, Aiko would snicker softly. "Though I am doubtful that you would be interested to hear how he was rather, clumsy when he had been a genin."

The Genin once again felt uncomfortable, cringing internally. Satia was a young woman who often made effort of her appearance, but didn't know how to take or comprehend compliments about it, to the point of verbally humbling herself in regards to it whenever it'd become a subject. Despite that, hearing that she was doing rather well at her rank of Genin was pleasing to hear and gave her renewed motivation, "Thank you, perhaps it is because I'm older than most Genin, no?" she replied with before lightly shrugging. Hearing Aiko mentioned about how he could be clumsy made the younger Cho softly chuckle before shaking her head, "On the contrary, it could come in useful to know such stories" she replied.

"Your age does have its advantages when it comes to maturity. Most genin don't sport the same maturity that you thus have shown me." Aiko replied, able to count the amount of mature genin on two hands. As Satia, however, seemed somewhat curious for the tales Aiko would place her cup down.

"Where to start? He started around four to five years back under my tutelage as genin. Together with his twin, he had more talent and capability to become a good shinobi. The only problem was that he held himself back on purpose. Small things like messing up handseals or holding back during a training. There was this time that he allowed himself to slip and fall face first into the mud to prevent his twin from getting frustrated. I think it was about learning a technique. I do wonder if he would have still done that if that team with girls hadn't passed by." Shaking her head, Aiko could remember another training.

"Not to mention that I taught him and two others how to make use of traps. At the start, he was able to catch on quickly. Knowing how to make traps quite hard to detect. Only to apparently forgot where he placed them. He almost was hanging for ten minutes until we found him upside down."

The more she listened the more she ended up smiling, till she eventually chuckled softly. Perhaps the Jounin should have opened with the stories of his clumsiness, for they painted a far better picture than the explanation of his personality and his appearance. "That is rather sweet, to show that level of consideration" she replied, "As for the traps... that is just hilarious" she grinned and shook her head before finally raising her cup and taking a small sparing sip of the bitter taste. "I suppose we all have to learn somewhere though, perhaps the only thing that has saved me from a similar fate is that I spend a lot of time reading before doing the practical side of things".

The woman smiled as she nodded. There were some stories that she wouldn't tell Satia. The ones where the ruthless side of Koike would be shown when it was needed. As Satia brought up that she read a lot, Aiko chuckled faintly as briefly. "Same counts for him. He reads and studies a lot. I don't think he reads anything for recreation or relaxation though." The last sentence was more of a thought out loud but Aiko would think over it. No, she couldn't imagine Koike with a novel or fictional work.

"Though, what is that you would desire the most from a suitor? Other than that you wouldn't need to give up on your ambitions and plans." She decided to ask, returning the favour back.

Satia pondered on the question for a moment, having not really thought about what she'd like form a potential suitor given she'd often shoot them down sooner than offer the chance for any kind of relationship to blossom. "Hmm, that's a good question" she replied, casting her gaze to the side to stare into empty space before simply shrugging. "I suppose the same things any woman would ask for. A kind and honest heart, someone who can strengthen my flaws and whom takes strength from me to their own. Someone who can meet me on equal ground, challenge me intellectually and meet my needs physically". Satia, of course, approached the question directly and honestly, albeit a tad analytically not unlike the way she would when indulging in her studies. Though nothing she'd said was untrue, she didn't seek a burden or to become one herself. If she were to marry she'd hope for a man who could go toe to toe with her and then some.

When Satia stated, 'anything a woman could ask for', Aiko was half tempted to make a comment on that. Hearing further what the young woman said, Aiko couldn't honestly disagree with her. Trying the idea to see if she could say if Koike matched that, Aiko had to hold back a laugh. He could likely challenge Satia in terms of intelligence but she wasn't sure if it was a good start to a relationship to talk about poisons and such. Or perhaps it was? She didn't know for one. "Then we further agree. No fun nor interesting to chain yourself to somebody that won't be able to meet your demands. And I have way more outrageous demands. Such as demanding that the other can provide a lavish lifestyle. Or prestige. Or something else superficial." The jounin replied, shaking her head lightly.

"I could answer if I imagine if Koike could meet up to some of your standards. However, I imagine it would be more interesting to let you figure that out yourself. Besides, with him being on a different continent we can just focus on your training. Something that I reckon is a tad more prominent than a possible future arrangement. Unless," Aiko's eyebrows slightly perked up as she was visibly amused, "You don't agree?"

The Genin wore an amused expression as Aiko mentioned a few of her own demands for such an agreement, "Well when you put it that way, I suppose providing a property with a garden is something I consider important" she half joked with a small soft laugh. Listening as the Jounin mentioned about her training she gave a singular nod of agreement, "I can't argue with that, the here and now should definitely be our focus" she replied. "Besides I should think training would make for a good distraction for the many questions revolving this news, and the dwelling on which would likely cause me much headache" she said with a tinge of jesting amusement.

"Why just stop at the garden?" Aiko winked as a smile grew on her lips. But she would nod when Satia stated that some training would provide a nice distraction for the news. It was probably a bit overwhelming for the younger Cho. "Then let us get moving. I will do the pay. One moment." Taking out her wallet, Aiko would handle the payment of their orders before they would leave the establishment with their bags.

"The location where we can train won't be too far. In fact, hmmm," the jounin glanced around. They could try to walk towards one of the barracks but she reckoned that would take more time and effort than she wanted to pour into it. Besides, there was a much easier solution for it all. Gesturing Satia to keep following her, they would walk towards a street where fewer people were present. There were various clothes hanging to dry over ropes that hung between the various buildings. Some children were playing out on the street but nobody didn't pay too much heed to the genin and jounin.
"Okay, I got a solution to get a break from this all. Keep holding of your bags. I just need to focus on moulding my chakra for a moment." Holding her own bag with her left hand, Aiko would flow chakra to a mark that was present on her left wrist. Touching Satia's shoulder with her right hand, chakra seemed to flow quickly over the two women, giving a jade green hue.

"There we go." Aiko said as she would pull her hand back. The area seemed quite the same. Only the people on the street were frozen and the sky was quite different. There were various isles present in the far distance. The only source seemed to be the sun that was clouded by some grey sky, appearing to be murky and faint. "Okay, so before you ask questions. We are alone. At least, I figure we are. The people you see? Mere illusions, so to say." The jounin first explained as she gestured to the visible people on the street. "I suppose you could catch your breath. I figure we then can find a spot where we can do some training."

The younger Cho patiently followed after Aiko, giving a polite nod of her head towards the staff that waved them off to thank them for their service before the two Shinobi would depart from the building. Satia would have questioned the location Aiko had chosen for their training given the presence of children but then something rather strange began to take effect, leaving the Genin to require a moment or two to gather herself and adjust to the changes. Satia being one of high perception she noticed rather quickly the subtle changes amidst the obvious ones, leading her brow to knit together before the young girl cast a questioning gaze to Aiko while she explained, giving a single slower nod as she began to somewhat understand. "This is quite the ability Aiko-Sensei. Your opponents have a lot to fear from you" she said openly.

The woman shot an amused look at Satia. "It isn't that impressive. I prefer even to not use it too much during a combat situation." She explained, "It is extremely useful but it can be quite distrustful. For example," gesturing to the children, Aiko would continue further. "It might not entirely represent the situation. This is what they call the Void and what we are seeing is a mere representation of the area of Magnhild, to keep things simple. There are more experienced people on the Void and technique. I simply have been able to study and use the technique for my own purposes. Such as finding some peace and quiet to train with a student."

Aiko threw a look up. They could perhaps try to do some training on the rooftops. But that would be too restrictive. Even if it would add some dimension to a training, watching the surrounding to not fall off. Turning half around, Aiko decided on something else. "Let us go back to the square. Come, then you can witness why this technique isn't that perfect for combat use." The jounin said as she already started to walk. The short walk back to the previous square would already perhaps alert Satia that something was wrong. There seemed to be much fewer people present on the street. And much like those before, they were all in some frozen animation. Even reaching the square, there seemed almost nobody around. "This will do. And don't worry about the collateral damage that might follow any training. It won't migrate when we travel back." Dropping her bag, Aiko would roll with her shoulders for a moment. "So, hmmm. Any particular training you had in mind?"

The hardest part was the mornings. It had been two days since she had come home, and yet Tomiko still found herself pausing and looking into Hiraku's empty room every morning as she passed. Today found itself being no different as she stared silently at the stillness of the empty almost as if still awaiting him to come back home. Making her way downstairs, Tomiko found both her parents sitting silently in the front room dressed in black. Ensuring her own traditional dress was in order she slowly approached the two. "Mama, Papa. Its almost time for the service." The genin said softly, not wanting to startle her parents on such a day. Without so much as a noise, the couple nodded and stood as they approached Tomiko to hug the girl tightly once more. "Be strong today, Àirén" Chiharu said as she kissed Tomiko's forehead gently before pausing and looking at her. "Your hair..." She said, as Tomiko gave her a sad smile. "I dyed it back last night, I figured big brother would like it better." Tomiko explained as she tried to fix the elaborate braid she had it in, wanting it all in order for the day. With the brief exchange finished, the trio turned and left their home to start the trek to temple in the center of the compound.

As they walked, Tomiko looked down at the small stuffed cat she clutched in her hands. Something Hiraku had gotten for her to help her adjust to living in a home again, and something she had kept with her since. She wasn't quite sure why she had decided to bring the stuffed animal, but she felt a bit calmer with it in her grasp. The closer they got to the temple, the more Tomiko saw slowly drifting towards the building. People she barely knew dressed in various colors, the majority in white while every now and then she spotted a light color. One of Hiraku's friends. Overhead the sky was covered with clouds and a chilly breeze blew through the streets as if Tian had hidden away the sun on this harsh day. Something Tomiko felt fit the somber mood settling over the compound. As they walked up the steps to the temple, a building built to reflect the sun's glorious rays yet today seemed dull with the weather, the girl began to shiver yet it was not due to the cold. She didn't want to be here, she didn't want to see these mourners, and she certainly didn't want to see what she knew awaited ahead.

Yet there they were. The family assembled in front, closest to the pyre and the lifeless body sitting atop it. He looked so calm laying there, dressed in traditional clothing of the clan with eyes closed as if merely sleeping in. Yet staring at him, she could only see the horrible tip of a weapon dripping in crimson protruding from his chest clear as if it were happening again. Shaking free the horrible vision, she noticed that the hall had become filled with the presence of the others in the clan. Some his friends and their family, yet others people who she was sure had never met her brother. Alas, they had to be there for the clan leader's journey to Tian. She could feel their collective gaze focused on herself and her parents standing to either side of her. This, along with the softly muttered condolences made the girl squirm in unease. It was all surreal as if some horrible nightmare she'd yet to awaken from. Her thoughts were soon cut off, as the sound of a tapping from in front of her caught the attention of the whole room. Standing on the raised platform behind the pyre stood the old priest of Tian. "Today we gather to honor the passing of our leader, Hiraku Hyuuga. On this day his soul will pass into Tian's embrace." He began in a voice ragged with age. He continued on, but Tomiko did not hear his words as she stared silently at the stillness of her brother.

Then her parents began to move. Snapping back to reality, she realized it was time for the mourners to say farewell to the fallen. Following silently behind her mother, Tomiko felt her father place a gentle yet reassuring hand on her shoulder as they approached where Hiraku lay. Soon enough she stood before the still body, watching her mother lose her composure and tears fell freely as she gently ran a hand along her deceased son's cheek. The girl saw her mother's mouth moving but heard no words as her world focused solely on her brother. "I'm sorry, Big Brother. When you reach Tian please watch over, I'll make you proud and I want you to see. I'll take care of mama and papa, promise. I love you, Big Brother." Tomiko whispered in a voice as hollow as she felt before following her mother back to where they had stood before. She watched as the others that had gathered went by and said their farewells, the length of the farewells shortening to just what formality dictated as the ones in white approached and wished him well in the next world.

With the farewells finished, the priest led the clan through a set of prayers Tomiko had learned long ago before allowing some to come forward and say a few words for the fallen. Natrually, the elder of the Hidarite family came forward to speak about Hiraku. Being the elder of the family to which Hiraku was apart of it was expected he would do that much. Then Hiraku's childhood friend came froward to give the crowd gathered some stories of when the two were young, getting a few chuckles here and there before he stepped down. After remaining silent for a few moments, Tomiko felt herself suddenly moving forward and slowly walking up the stairs. The priest gave her a sad smile, gesturing towards those gathered. Tomiko stared out at all those assembled, almost losing her nerve and fleeing the stage but then she spotted her mother and father in front giving her a reassuring nod. Swallowing nervously, she spoke just barely loud enough for those present to hear.

"I'd like to tell you all a story." She began and looked around. "A story about a little girl. Alone and scared after losing her parents to illness, living homeless. Then a young boy who found this little girl, and didn't walk past to pretend like they didn't notice as others had. Then once he finally heard her plight, he convinced his parents to take her in so she wouldn't have to be scared anymore. This boy, was named Hiraku Hyuuga." She said as a single tear rolled down her cheek before she forced herself to continue with a strong tone. "The girl, was me. On that day he promised he'd take care of me, protect me and ensure I was happy. And he did. Hiraku, who had the kindness in his heart to open his home to me continued to hold his promise through the years. When I got bullied for being quiet at the Academy? He taught me how to stand up for myself. When I graduated from the Academy, I'll give you one guess who stood at the front and cheered me on. No matter how embarrassed I was." She said, earning a couple of chuckles at that last comment. "Even with his last breath, Hiraku was protecting me during the troubles of our previous mission. However, he didn't only just protect and care for me. Hiraku also taught me kindness, and that we all need to look out for each other. To show compassion for those less fortunate, because one day we might be the ones in need. Indeed, I think a number of you here also experincied his kindness." She said as a few nodded in agreement. "So however you knew him; Clan leader, friend, child, or brother. I think we can all try to be kinder to one another as he would have, and in doing so honor the life of a man who truly wanted to help everybody in need that he could." She said, before making her way back down to rejoin her parents and wiping tears from her eyes.

After a few more words from the priest, the pyre was loaded with bamboo around the body and some of his belongings placed alongside the body. Meanwhile, a helper to the priest held a torch into the brazier to ignite the flames and then carried the lit torch to the mourning family up front. He handed the torch to Tomiko's father, who stared at it for a moment before frowning and shaking his head. Then handing the torch to Tomiko, whispering to his daughter. "I think Hiraku would want you to see him on his journey." Even as Tomiko, too shocked for words, simply nodded and took the torch from her father. Time seemed to slow as she slowly took the steps forward and stood before the pyre. "May you swiftly find Tian's embrace. May this flame free your soul to join the ancestors. I shall ensure your mortal form completes its journey, may you watch over us all in the coming future." Tomiko said softly, repeating a prayer she had heard others speak at such events in the past. With that, she touched the flame to the kindling up near where his head lay. Then to the kindling near his feet, then she tossed the torch onto the pyre before turning and walking back to her family. As she returned, her father passed the small stuffed animal back to the girl.

As the flames engulfed Hiraku and raged on, freeing his soul from his mortal form she couldn't keep her gaze in one place. Switching between the stuffed animal and her brother. Before a thought could even enter her mind about her next actions, Tomiko felt herself suddenly rush forwards. Then she thrust a hand into the flames, gifting the stuffed animal that had helped her remain strong through the years back to her brother so he could remain strong on his journey. Recoiling violently backward from the pain she fell down as one of the mourners she didn't recognize burst forwards and held his hands over her hand. As the flames died down, her pain slowly faded as the man who had come forward continued his efforts with medical ninjutsu over her burned hand. As the flames died, Tomiko could hear the lectures and frets of her parents over what she had done. Though she didn't listen, she simply watched the crowd leave and her hand being healed by the kind man before her. As the ashes finished being gathered and placed in the ornate box which would be their final place, the man sighed and stopped the technique. "It's going to be a little scarred, but the damage is fixed. Don't go near anything hot with that hand for a few days, and get it wrapped. Change it every day, you're lucky the burns were minor." He explained as the boy who had lit the torch earlier approached with some gauze. Explaining they kept some just in case somebody was hurt at the temple. Then wrapping her hand, Tomiko watched as another brought the box of Hiraku's remains over. It was time to complete the journey, something she had to do herself.

She found herself in a rather peaceful and elegant garden, walking a stone path through the middle as on either side streams flowed peacefully. The grass was kept a perfectly even height, and the flowers were taken immaculate care of. Trees hung overhead, though they held few leaves at this time of year. It was truly a beautiful and serene sight. In the back sat a long, black wall that had a rather reflective quality to it. Alcoves were carved into it holding ornate little boxes much like her own, with engravings displaying the name of who was kept there just above them. It was silent, only the sounds of her footsteps and the wind disturbing the air. It was surreal, a garden untouched by anybody outside of the walls which surrounded it. A place for the mortal remnants of the fallen to rest peacefully. As she approached the wall, Tomiko swore she could hear the voices of the ancestors calling to her in the wind. Whether it was just her imagination or the spirits of the ancestors were truly reaching out to her she did not know. Sliding the box into the alcove labeled 'Hiraku Hyuuga' she whispered to the wall. "You've completed the journey, brother. Now rest easy, I miss you." She said before whatever grip she had on her composure slipped away as she fell to her knees and cried out in pain. Tears freely fell as she sobbed, finally feeling she was alone enough to let herself cry and deal with the emotions from the day.

A small gust of wind would brush over the girl, leaving the girl wondering if perhaps somebody from beyond had just reached out to her as she cried before the wall where Hiraku's remains would forever remain.
[/fieldbox]

Amegakure Team 22 Chuunin | Akinian Empire | South of Amegakure

Kuni kept looking around for a bit as two girls came and approached the other person sitting next to her on the bench. The girls greeted the sitting person, though without naming the person directly. She could hear one of the people were called Kitana.

When the person next to her suddenly begun to speak and included her in the conversation, she felt a bit surprised. She had sat next to her new team leader without even knowing it. As she was introduced, Kuni gave all three of them a brief bow and a smile. Etsu then rose up and stated she had secured a tile for them in the training facility, before beginning to walk away.

"As you were told, I'm Yoshikuni Sadako, but you can call me Kuni. Everyone calls me Kuni." She stated briefly as they walked to the training facility. Kuni felt excited about this, as she didn't have a chance to do any kind of activity with anyone since what felt like quite some time now.[/fieldbox]

Outside of the Temple the streets were practically empty when compared to the hustle and bustle of the day, but still, there were enough prying eyes milling about that if even one of them was keen enough they may notice Meilin sneaking into the Temple, secretive technique or not. Aoi fidgeted with the string of firecrackers in her hands, quietly thumbing over each individual cracker as she followed the string to the end. There was something oddly calming about the gesture, about counting something so concrete and real that there was almost no way she could get it wrong. She stopped at eight, slung the line of firecrackers in her hand and pulled a small matchbook from her pocket. Striking her first match she watch it bloom to life before bringing it over to the end of the firecrackers.

The line burst to life in sparks, hissing a warning as it quickly rose up toward the first firecracker in its path. The realization that these were no ordinary firecrackers struck Aoi all at once as if she had just now been told about them, causing her to fumble with the line for a moment before she reeled her arm back and sent it soaring through the air for a group of rather drunk men. It landed behind their group with a thud, smoldering for a few more seconds before the flame reached the line of firecrackers. The ensuing explosions were more of an assault on Aoi's sense than anything she'd ever seen a firecracker do before. Her ears were ringing from a good twenty meters away, and there were afterimages of the small explosions burnt into her vision as she looked away.

She couldn't have imagined what it must have been like had it gone off in her hands, except that she could, because down the road the group of drunks fumbled through the night as if they had all gone blind and deaf at once. Their arms were out in front of them, grasping for anything from the looks of it and each of them was yelling so loud that people were beginning to come out of the woodworks of alleys and small roads that led away from the Temple to see what was going on. She knew it was her moment to act, but still she hesitated for a moment, the idea of lying about not being able to set the fires lingered temptingly in front of her mind. But she couldn't let Madoc and Meilin down, not again. She turned on her heels and made her way half way down the road before crouching at a small pile of trash directly beneath a street vendors stall she had collected earlier in the night. With another stroke of her fingertips another match bloomed to life, this time being deposited on the pile which quickly took up the torch from the small match. She bolted into the darkness while she still had a chance, only looking back when she felt far enough from sight to no longer be a suspicion.

Behind her the street vendors cart burned bright, lighting up much of the block around it and coughing up thick black smoke that stood in eerie contrast to the rest of the night sky. She could hear the shouts of those around as they rallied the bucket brigade to put out the growing fire. She shuttered at the fact she had three more such fires that still needed to be lit, it was almost like she was no longer fighting on behalf of the people, and it bothered her. But it was too late now, she was committed to her end of the plan. She had to keep going.

Watching the Temple from the rooftop of a house, Meilin couldn't see or know where Aoi would begin the plan. But that wasn't of paramount importance. What was important was that Aoi would do her tasks. For a moment, Meilin felt her stomach slightly turning. She had asked something of Aoi that was perhaps a bit too much. If things had been reversed, Meilin wasn't sure if she had been able to pull through.
Spotting from her spot some movement over the walls of the Temple, Meilin narrowed her eyes. Something loud pierced the air. Meilin reckoned that it had been Aoi. Throwing a direction of where she had heard the faint disturbance, Meilin couldn't see any sign of smoke. Was Aoi caught? In trouble?
Almost did Meilin reach out and ask through the telepathic bond for a status report. However, she then spotted what seemed to be smoke, slowly crawling upwards to the dark night sky.

Meaning that it was her turn to move into action.
Bringing her hands together Meilin would start with weaving various handsignals. Moulding the chakra and experiencing the alienate sensation over her skin, Meilin tried to not trouble herself with trivial thoughts and questions. Once finished with the streak of required handsignals, Meilin spread her arms out as she walked towards the edge of the roof.
Slowly letting herself fall forwards, the hooded figure would briefly be surrounded by chakra. Becoming smaller in size, Meilin would manage to soar through the air. There was something delightful exhilarating about the transformation in mid-air. As if the world couldn't hold her down anymore and she had achieved a true sense of freedom.

Soaring through the air, slowly descending, Meilin was wary of the movements in the yard. Confident that a raven wouldn't be considered a threat, Meilin would land on a tile. Turning her head, she debated to see if she could inspect what Aoi had exactly done to attract attention. But as long as nothing came through the telepathic bond, she would just trust on that Aoi was fine.
Hopping over the tiled floor, Meilin didn't go directly to the entrance of the temple. Instead, she was on the lookout for any open windows. Spotting none so far, at the front, Meilin would start to make her way towards the right side of the complex.
"I am inside the walls. I am making my way to get inside. How are things on your side, guys?" Meilin asked through the telepathic communication, set up by Madoc.

In his position on a roof awaiting for the plan to go down, he spun his Thief dagger around his hand as he waited and waited. It got to a point he was about to scan for Aoi when a rather loud sound went off. Putting away his dagger he got ready to scan, finding Meilin waiting for the fires on a rooftop and Aoi making her way to start them. So far so good, she caused one hell of a commotion that's for sure. It made him wonder just what kind of firecrackers went off like a bomb.

As the smoke started to reach the skies causing more commotion, that was que for Meilin to go which as he scanned she was gone like she was never there. This confused him as he couldn't see her anywhere at all. How was she getting out of his sensor? If she was using a chakra cloaking technique then that wasn't going to help the plan at all. Still not spotting her besides all the people trying to put out fires and Aoi causing them, nothing screamed Meilin.

He stopped sensing as he awaited Meilin to speak up, all he could do was wait as smoke filled the sky more, when finally her voice rang out stating she was inside the walls. Scanning again he still couldn't see her, he saw the priest and the others inside and oddly enough a bird with a rather large amount of chakra for a bird. Then it hit him as he snickered. "Good so far. Aoi is a natural pyromaniac. There is a room on the east about six windows down with no one in it, it leads to a empty hallway."

Aoi dropped another match in a pile of trash she had setup earlier, this one leaning against the red walls of the Hanaguro Fire Temple. It crackled to life, the flames licking up the sides of the wooden walls leaving long scorch marks as she made her way around the corner of the wall and down the street at a quick enough pace to be gone from the fire by the time it was noticed. Then Meilin appeared in her head asking about their progress, to which Madoc replied, a called her a pyromaniac. She felt her face drop as she continued to the next pile she had prepared, she was setting fire to her own temple and Madoc had the gall to make light of the fact, "Anywhere else I'd take that as a compliment Madoc, here though, let's not joke about this." she thought to them as she continued along to the final fire she'd set up.

She moved past two men rushing toward the glow of her fires on the other side of the walls of the Temple, the buckets of water they carried in each hand spilling water over the edges as they ran. Her final pile was only a few meters in front of her, nestled against the edge of the temple walls, but there were two Hanaguro Guards standing next to it, kicking it apart as she watched. She dropped her shoulders at the sight, it wasn't that not setting this last fire was going to ruin what Meilin was up to, but it would certainly shorten the time she'd have to get her part of the mission done. She stood a bit off from the two guards and pulled her hood while she waited for them to leave the pile. The guards seemed to survey the trash spread about and made their way down the wall toward the other fires, leaving Aoi her chance to set it back up. She trotted over to the pile of strewn debris and used her feet to kick it back together on the edge of the Temple wall.

Her hands shaking she lit a match and dropped it onto the pile, setting it ablaze. She stood from the spot, "I just set the last of the fires, I'm moving to Madoc right---"

"STOP THERE!" a voice boomed from close behind.

"Shit." she thought to the other two before bolting in the opposite direction of the voice, the sound of two sets of boots and the clinking of armor following close behind.

Hearing Madoc's reply made Meilin halt. She felt a sting in her gut. There wasn't anything that came from Meilin but if anything, the guilt of before rose. Enough that it temporarily froze Meilin. Deciding to head to the east of the temple, this time at a faster pace, Meilin heard what Aoi replied back. Looking up, she noticed no open windows at first. Causing her mood to drop further. Spreading her wings, she would move up, into the air. Carefully and gently, she would allow herself to land near a window. It was shut and from what she could see, more were shut. Wanting to request more information from Madoc, Meilin noticed something. One of the windows was slightly open. Moving towards it, she had to use all her strength to slightly push the window further open. Only to hop in afterwards.

Once landing on the floor, it wasn't the talons of a raven that touched the ground. Reversed to her own form, Meilin rolled with her shoulders.
"I am inside. And that ---"
Meilin's eyes widened as she slightly turned, throwing a look over her shoulder.
"Shit."

Once more Meilin found herself frozen in place.
"Aoi? Aoi?! Fuck. Madoc, status report?" Meilin requested, the beads of cold sweat already rolling over her back.
Deciding to continue on, Meilin would move silently towards the door. Sliding it open, she briefly peeked inside the hallway. Empty. Moving into the hallway and sliding the door shut behind her, Meilin decided to crouch and wait for a moment. There was nothing that betrayed any form or sign of life. Licking her lips, Meilin decided to move forward.

Moving through the dark hallway, she wasn't sure where she should go. This was where Aoi should have been able to come in. Meilin's hand moved to the handle of a knife that she had with her. She hoped that nobody had to die this night. There was a soft whisper that reminded Meilin of how much Aoi could get hurt if a priest would die, certainly by a team member.

Hearing Aoi's words caused him to shrug to himself. "My bad, forgot this was your religion." Madoc said, as he would wait on the roof shaking a bit from the cold night breeze when Aoi said shit to them. Which prompted Meilin to ask for a status report. "On it." he would reply simply as he scanned for Aoi to see two armed guards chasing her. This caused him to groan as he scanned again at to judge Meilin's position. "Aoi try to lead them to my position and I'll take care of them." Madoc said to the blue haired woman. "Head through the alley to your right and double back to me that way. Meilin, further down that hallway, looks like a door on the left has a room full of people. None look like they are leaving. That hallway seems to lead to another one that can lead to this wide area that has a bunch of people there. So I recommend keep heading straight and not to take that one turn." Madoc advised her letting his sensory drop to not use up all his chakra for what he might have to do if Aoi got to him.
"Let me know when you are nearing my position Aoi."

Aoi didn't bother responding to Meilin or Madoc as they both reached out to her over their connection, instead she was focused on not running into something or someone as she sprinted down the road with two guards close behind. She registered Madoc give her directions to the alley at her right, even nodding her head in confirmation that she had gotten it only to remember that that wasn't quite how their connection worked. Ducking into the alley as it came up on her right she continued sprinting down it focused on what was ahead of her rather than behind. She sidestepped a pile of trash and found herself sprawled out on the ground a moment later. She struggled for a breath as her abdomen protested in pain. She pushed herself up on her hands and found her eyes searching the dark alley in front of her to find a small man in dark clothes laying ahead of her and a newly opened door to her left spilling light out on her. She tried to breath again, anxiety gripping her as she wasn't able to fill her lungs. She placed a hand against the wall of the alley to her left and started to hoist herself only to find herself back on the ground once more.

There was a boot pressed against the top of her back pressing her into the ground and causing her to panic more as she found it even harder to breath than before. Above her the huffing and puffing of the man it belonged to filled her mind as if it were the only sound in the world only to be pierced by his words, "Don't---" the guard started as he took a whistling breath, "resist…" Aoi was sure it was supposed to have sounded intimidating but with his current condition it came off as little more than a meager request.

She sucked in a breath, the pain in her stomach blooming so badly that she could swear she saw stars in her vision before she felt the mans boot press down harder, "You not hear what I just said lass?" the man spouted from behind her. "I'm just…" she grit her teeth as the pain came back, "Breathing!" she yelled as she tried to take a small breath in.

She could hear the mans armored comrade running up from behind her now, the clinking of his armor and chainmail a dead give away to the fact it wasn't Madoc coming to save her. From her vantage with the left side of her face pressed against the ground, Aoi could see nothing more than the trash and alley directly to her right and suddenly the second guards boots. She grinned as she tried to breath again, salvation had just strolled in and the idiot didn't even know it yet. "I've got this handled." she thought to Madoc and Meilin as the boot in her back pressed in a bit harder.

"Damnit." Meilin whispered underneath her breath. Taking Madoc's words, she would advance forwards. Her heart was racing so fast that the Cho feared that the pounding would wake up all the residents. Silent as a cat did she prowl further through the dark hallway. Alert for anything that could betray people being nearby, Meilin slowly moved further. Meilin debated to use her Raven technique but that would put her in a less fortunate spot. She couldn't defend herself in that form.
Moving further and further, she felt the urge to just bolt and drop the plan. With her now being inside the temple, Aoi's knowledge was required on where the rooms of important priests were located. Or on how to use the daily chores to know what places she should stay away from to avoid detection.

After advancing through the dark hallway, Meilin came to a halt. She had to make a decision where to go. Listening in on her surrounding, Meilin wanted to reach out to her team. But it was clear from past exchanges that they had their hands full. Meaning that she had to make a decision on her own. Moving further, Meilin hoped that soon enough Aoi could give some information on where she actually had to go.

Keeping his sensory on both, he would groan as Aoi had been caught, Meilin was right in saying damnit. They kind of needed Aoi to not be caught as Madoc could only tell of where people were situated in that place. About to head out to go get her or atleast cause a bigger distraction, she would suddenly tell them that she had this handled. This caused him to stare confusingly at the thin air as he looked at the area she was in. "Okay but you see Aoi, we need your expertise in layouts of this place, I can only tell Meilin to dodge people for so long before I lead her to a shitty situation." Madoc stated before looking at Meilin's location and nearly jumped on the roof in shock.
"Meilin room now! Someone's coming down the hallway! No ones in a room!"

Aoi listened as the two guards quickly debated on what to do with her whether it was beating her and leaving her in the alley, taking her into the precinct, or turning her over to some of the less desirable of establishments in the Pink District. They hadn't quite come to an agreement when Aoi shot bother her hands above her head, the second guard yelped as her hands formed into a single bird seal and began to move to kick her arms. The kick landed, the strike resounding through her arms and into her chest as her arms were forced apart by the force, but it didn't matter the second guard had been too slow. There was a surprised yelp from the first guard and the weight on her back was suddenly lifted. She sprung to her feet, somewhere in between cautious and too fast, her lungs screaming in protest as she did while not even a meter in front of her the second guard watched on in shock as the first guard hover four meters above them screaming at the man to do something.

The man spun suddenly, the chainmail and armor plates around his body seeming to be holding the strain of his full weight well as it picked up speed. The yells of the man grew distorted as he spun until they dropped out all together as he flew off into the darkness of the night followed shortly after by a resounding crash as armor and person struck the ground some distance away. In front of Aoi the second guard readied the sword at his hip, "Whatever the fuck you just did… You fucked up lass." the second guard sneered as he grasped the sword in both his hands.

"Seems they made up their mind on what to do with me…" Aoi thought to everyone present in her mind on accident. The man dashed forward, bringing his sword down on Aoi in a sweeping arc that was readable from a mile away. Light on her feet Aoi sidestepped the blow as if it were nothing more than a sparring match. The swords report as it struck the ground was enough for Aoi to know she had already won, the guard hadn't been able to reign in his strike in time and because of it he was now badly mispositioned. Aoi took the few steps forward to reach him in just a glance of a second. "I'll have this handled in a moment," She formed another bird handseal and touched the back of the man's plate armor, "just don't get caught before I'm done here then I'll help." she thought once more as he lashed out with an elbow and the sword once more at Aoi behind him. She watched as the sword came around, even if he had been out of position, even if he had underestimated her earlier, the guard seemed to had quickly learned his lesson as the blade quickly closed on her. She was too close to dodge, not enough time to take the kunai from the small of her back.

She raised up her left forearm at an angle to her face, her fist balled and her body tensed as she prepared for the bite of the sword. The alley was briefly illuminated in sparks.

The Cho froze in her movement when Madoc said that somebody was coming. When Madoc said that she should get into a room, Meilin shot a look to the right. She didn't yet hear any movement but she wasn't certain she could just quickly hide in a room. If the coming person would notice something being wrong, the consequences could lead to the entire plan falling apart. Her heart skipped a beat as she moved into action, swiftly moving.
The priest walked through the hallway, the lantern with the candle shining a path of light in front of him. As the darkness of the hall made way for the man in the robes, Meilin held her breath in. Her eyes were squinted as adrenaline rushed through her system. Watching the man from atop her position, Meilin managed to not produce a sound. In another situation, she could have laughed about it. But right now, she kept her hands and feet pressed against the wall as her back close to the ceiling. Watching the priest walked slowly but surely further into the hallway. His footsteps barely audible due to the floor and socks not producing much sound

"Fucking hell," Meilin cursed as she would drop down on to the floor from the ceiling. Making almost no sound with the drop, she did shoot a look in the direction where the priest had gone to. Flexing her fingers, Meilin would throw a look into the direction she had gone towards. Nobody in sight.
"Easier said than done." Meilin mumbled to herself as she remained still. "I thought that this place didn't have any guards? What is up with these old men staying up this damn late?" She further mumbled to herself as she didn't want to offend or annoy Aoi with her own frustrations. The only question was, where was she supposed to go now?

Rini Yoto
Genin of Team 22 - Amegakure | Amegakure, the southern part of the province capital.

" "Hello Rini, looking more like a badass if I do say so myself.""

The words of Kitana caused Rini to grin, if only slightly. She nodded towards Kitana. But before Rini could give a reply, Etsu spoke up. Paying attention to what the jounin said, Rini threw a glance at what apparently the newest addition to the team. She had heard some rumours about the jinchuriki of the Four Tails. And there was a certain disdain becoming present within Rini. Withholding her personal dismay at the sight of the jinchuriki as well learning that she had to work together with the vessel of the four tailed demon, Rini nodded as Etsu continued.

Following Etsu, Rini wondered what kind of training they would get. The fact that Etsu could be quite intimidating, Rini didn't consider anything else but something tough. Even while the jounin usually had a friendly impression, there was something else about the jounin. Something that made her scarier than Itsuo or Ryoku.
"Hm, well the only way to figure out what she has in store for us is to just go with her." Rini thought to herself.

Throwing a sideways glance at Kitana, Rini decided to ask something. "Hey Kitana, how have you been? I hope you've healed up. Cause it will look a bit silly when I surpass you as a genin." A cheeky smile flowed on Rini's lips as she winked at the chuunin.

[fieldbox=For the North! - Part 1, tomato]
The Wolf Country - Eastern continent.
Yumeji's unit.

A collab between FrostedCamel, Zane and Oetje.

Summary:
Yumeji Hojo has been given command to lead an unit, that of Sergeant Miu Sanosuke, to the north of the allied camps. Their task is to venture north and scout for enemy activity and how feasible it is to move more troops to that direction. As always, trouble can be expected with the presence of those damned zealots - certainly with a massive army in the region.

[spoili]
Yumeji's right hand grasped around the hilt of her blade. Pulling the weapon slightly out of its scabbard, revealing a glimpse of the steel, the chuunin would release a soft sigh. Letting the weapon slip back into its sheath she would throw a look at the right. Today she was to lead a company to the north. The objective rather simple. To move north and cross the river. Then scout the surrounding before making way back to the camp. Sounding anything but impressive or dangerous but that was if you didn't keep in mind that a large hostile force was at the other side of the river. The sight of the first battle was still fresh in Yumeji's mind. How the enemy swarmed the river and tried to use the central crossing to overwhelm their lines. Much blood had been spilt that day. Luckily, most of the blood was of their enemies.

Trying to push her thoughts to another topic, Yumeji was wondering how Kaya was doing. It had been a slight disappointment that they wouldn't be working on the same assignment but there was little that Yumeji could do. To whine or complain like a spoiled brat was below her.
Besides, she would work with the other Slayer today. Toshi Harada.

Toshi had been surprisingly early for once. He had his stuff packed and equipment ready to go almost a full hour before they were set to meet at the Northern edge of the camp, and he was just a little bit proud of that fact. As he had walked through the camp he had gotten a few nods from soldiers that were up and moving, as well as the occasional "Slayer" from those that recognized him, to which he instinctively pulled the scarf around his neck higher up over the lower half of his face. He was still uncomfortable with the name, and even if he had now helped take down two of the inhuman beasts, the second had actually done damage to his comrades before he had even been able to engage it, he didn't consider that to be anything to be proud of. He was sure that those who it got to first were disappointed in him from the afterlife, disappointed in one of the original Slayers. They'd probably expected they could handle it if a worthless Genin had managed it, now they were cursing him for leading them to their deaths with a false sense of grandeur.

He neared the meeting point, spotting the blonde haired Hojo ahead he raised an arm in the air as he used the other hand to free his face from his scarf, "Yumeji! Good to see you're still alive and kicking." he called ahead of himself to her.

Today was a new day, waking up with a tiny little headache she would get her equipment put on and gear ready to go. Today she was tasked to meet up with someone north of the camp as they would be leading a mission today. Of what she didn't know most likely the captain would instruct them in what that was. As she headed to the point, some of the troops she was in charge with meet up with her along the way, giving her pats on the back and exchanges of talk. It made her feel a bit more relaxed knowing the unit she was in charge of was going to be with her during today's task. Even if they all choose to keep calling her Hothead, it was starting to grow on her even. Then again despite her protest, she would get called it one way or another.

As they arrived she saw Toshi being rather relaxed to one blonde female, which so happened to be the one person leading them today. Oh she had hoped he used proper respect. As she and her troops got closer, she would figure out why Toshi was being all buddy buddy. These two were the slayers, so this was Yumeji Hojo. As Miu got closer she would give the woman a salute. "Miu Sanosuke, Captain, Ma'am"

Yumeji's head turned when she heard somebody call out her name. Spotting Toshi, a smile dawned on the Hojo's lips. Raising her left hand a bit up, the blonde would wave back at the approaching genin.
"Good to see you as well. And in good spirits, I assume?" The blonde Hojo asked, placing her gloved hands on her hips.
Before Toshi could answer, the blue eyes of Yumeji moved the young woman's gaze. Spotting a group approaching them, Yumeji assumed that it was the group of sergeant Miu Sanosuke. It took a second before Yumeji recognised the Sanosuke. Hadn't she been there during the first hostile contact? When they were ambushed during the investigation of that 'abandoned' hamlet.

"Sergeant Sanosuke," Yumeji replied as she offered a salute back, "Good. Seems that we are all here." Throwing a glance at the rallied group, Yumeji nodded. The soldiers that were with them seemed to be the capable bunch. Some of the men seemed of the rougher kind. Being taller than the Hojo and making her wonder how long she could hold off against such strong combatants.
"Our objective is simple, in terms. We ought to move north, along the river. Spot for a crossing and then move over. Scout a bit and then move back. When coming across hostile contact, protocol demands that we don't pursue or engage. Self-defence, of course, is without question allowed. But seeking a fight isn't our priority."
She explained it to the sergeant, ignoring the fact that Toshi could just listen in. Yumeji doubted there was much harm in letting the genin overhear what they would do today.
"I suggest you instruct your men to march in a column of three. Most of the terrain north of the camp will be safe. I doubt that we will have to face much hostility this close to camp."

"Always in good spirits Yumeji." Toshi replied as he stopped next to the Chuunin. He peered back as he could hear the rustling of the men approaching, and out in front of them was Miu. He gave her a smile, pushed what immediately popped into his mind to say to the back and simply nodded to the girl.

Then the interesting stuff began right in front of him. He couldn't help but snicker a little at how Miu introduced herself to Yumeji with a salute, but quickly wiped his grin off his face as they began to get down to business. He listened intently to the orders that Yumeji laid out for them, 'Crossing more rivers…' he thought as he remembered that most of the soldiers wouldn't be able to not get wet doing it, 'It's got to be bad for morale to be already freezing our asses off and then be forced to just increase that level of freezing to a whole new height.' he thought as Yumeji went on.

Getting the objective from Yumeji, Miu would nod as most of it was easy enough to follow. Only an idiot could possibly fuck it up. Scout for a crossing, and scout the other side before heading back. No pursuing enemies and no engaging them. Self defense is however allowed. Hopefully it didn't have to come to that though. Hearing to instruct her men into columns of three made her nod her head. So far this Hojo was at least more bearable than the Albino bitch.

Turning to her men she would clear her throat. "Alright men you heard the Captain! I want your asses in three perfect columns and I don't want any goofing around. Am I clear?" Miu stated to which the men saluted and moved into formation. Miu would then look at Toshi, "That includes you as well Toshi. You are part of my group after all."

The Hojo was glad that this Miu would follow the instruction. There was the initial doubt that their backgrounds would provide enough tension for a verbal clash. Or worse. With her doubt being proven wrong, for now, Yumeji relaxed a bit. As Miu ordered Toshi also to get into the formation, Yumeji would simply turn and start walking. Their objective meant that they should best move out as soon as possible. The terrain around the camp wasn't too bothersome, save it for the snow.
The sound of snow cracking, jingling of chainmail and creaking of leather together with the faint howling of the wind were the only sounds that filled the air. The first part of the march wasn't difficult and Yumeji stopped throwing looks over her shoulder, after the third time.

Marching near the riverbed, Yumeji threw a few glances to the other side of the river. The chance was there that they could spot enemies. The river would be the only hindrance for a straight battle.
"I wonder," Yumeji thought to herself as her eyes narrowed. Marching through light vegetation and snow, the Hojo would signal for a halt. Spotting a possible crossing up ahead, Yumeji would half turn around.
"Sergeant Sanosuke. I want a few men to move up ahead and scout that crossing. Keep some other men stationed nearby and perform perimeter patrols. We will rest here out before we head out and make that crossing,"
Pointing up ahead, Yumeji hoped that the light forest they were in would provide some cover to mask their movements. Then again, at the other side, the vegetation provided similar cover for potential enemies, lying in wait for them.

With all the men in formation and heading on out under Yumeji's lead, the march through the bitter cold would be a rather silent one. The only audible sound being chainmail clinking and snow being crushed underfoot, Miu made sure to keep an eye on her men to make sure they were in formation at all times. Throwing a few glances every now and then at Toshi to make sure he was keeping up with everyone.

Coming to a halt, Miu would listen to the new orders given to her by Yumeji, gazing at the crossing spot, she would pick five men to go said crossing and have two ten men groups perform perimeter patrols. "Toshi I want you to help the second group with patrols, you have some keen eyes so it would prove helpful. Miu would tell Toshi before focusing her attention on Yumeji. "I'll go help out the crossing unless you need anything else of me Captain?" Miu would ask just in case she would prefer Miu to be more close by.

Toshi had kept pace, even kept in step with the column as they marched, not wanting to piss off their demon of a leader he had even tried to do a good job of it. Still he noticed her checking up on him every so often as if he was somehow going to lose pace with a bunch of guys in chainmail and armor trudging through the snow.

He had listened intently as his fellow Slayer and the girl he knew was his Sergeant but also may or may not have been something more laid out their objective and hatched a quick plan. 'Need to figure out what she is before I take a nice sword to the stomach…' Toshi thought as he simply nodded and smiled in agreement at Miu as if he didn't have a care in the world. He quickly made his way to the second group and gave them a wave, "Looks like I'm with you guys, apparently you're all too old to see or something, have to check up with the Sergeant on that one though." he said as he threw a sly glance back at Miu, who he was pretty sure hadn't noticed. The men in his group all chuckled softly.

"Sure she did Slayer, sure she did." one of the men laughed out while giving Toshi a soft clap on the shoulder. They grinned at each other to which the man asked a bit more seriously this time, "You got those bombs of yours right boy?" Toshi nodded with a smile across his face once more.

Yumeji shook her head slightly, already betraying what her answer would be.
"No. That will be all for now. I want to swap the tasks eventually to make sure that most had a decent rest. It won't do us much good if most of us will be panting and unable to move at double pace." Was Yumeji's verbal answer.
There were some questions that Yumeji had in mind but she considered them not fit for the moment. With things set in motion, Yumeji decided to take a break. Sitting down, not too far from the other troops that would enjoy their break, Yumeji decided to check upon her weapons. Unsheathing her sword halfway, the Hojo cast a glance at the steel. It was so well polished that she could see her own reflection in it. Slowly she would sheath the weapon again, to inspect the three pouches in which she had stored some other tools. There was the question of how sparse she should be with using her tools. A chance to resupply was slim, so probably it would be wise to not go quickly through her tools.

After around twenty minutes, the rounds would be changed. Yumeji took the time to observe the group. They seemed close. Concluding this from the way how they spoke and interacted, Yumeji wondered how many nasty situations they had triumphed together.
Once more twenty minutes passed by without any sign of hostile contact around. As everybody started to gather, Yumeji threw a look at the other side of the river. The shallow water that could be crossed would be annoying. It was already cold but now they had to wade through it with the water reaching to their knees. But orders were orders.

The unit would be led to the riverbed as Yumeji stood on front. Looking at the other side, the Hojo felt the suspense growing. Gripping her shield tighter, she was expecting a hail or projectiles to try to bar them from crossing. Moving first through the water, Yumeji controlled herself from not trying to rush over or simply walk over water. Most of the men wouldn't be able to perform such a feat and Yumeji found it only proper to go through the same hardships as those who she had to command.
Once she was halfway, Yumeji thought she had seen some movement. Squinting her eyes, the Hojo whistled hard as a warning for the rest of the unit. Then she spotted a man running through the snow and vegetation.
"Fuck! Move!" Starting to move as fast as she could, Yumeji's heart started to skip beats. "On the double!" She shouted, even forgetting in the heat of the moment that she could try to just run over the water to reach the other side.

It had gone rather well for the most part. Sure some of the men were cold and more than a few of them were wet, Toshi included, but so far no one had tried to kill them, and their hadn't been any sign of the enemy thus far. 'Good, I can get used to this.' Toshi thought as they group reconvened at the riverbed to make the first crossing through the water. He recoiled a bit at the idea of getting wet as he watched Yumeji and some of the soldiers begin to wade into the water and make their way across the river. 'Do I have to do that too?' he thought as he stood at the river's edge. He could, with a good amount of effort, walk across the surface and remain dry, or he could set a good example like his fellow Slayer and endure like the rest of the soldiers would have to.

He had just placed his first foot in the water when he heard Yumeji call out, "Fuck." he said aloud as he look past the other riverbed and spotted a figure in the woods beyond. The bulk of the force was only half way across, and Toshi hadn't even stepped into the frigid waters and they were already being attacked? "Not good, not fucking good." Toshi said to himself as he unfurled a scroll and unsealed its contents. Two handfuls of coiled together kunai appeared in the air before Toshi. Snatching them up before they fell, he tossed a coil into his jackets pocket and undid the binding on the other. 'Six to a coil…' he thought as he pulled three from the first coil. He remembered the enemy being slaughtered as they crossed the river, bogged down in the water before they were able to get across in the battle from the day before, he wasn't about to have the roles reversed. He stepped on the surface of the river before taking off across it to see if he couldn't help the soldiers as they crossed.

With nothing else being required of her, she and some of her men would go out and scout the crossing for a suitable traversable path they could use. For the most part they couldn't find a spot shallow enough to walk through as the water kept going deeper the more they went through it. With all of her group with a wet lower half returned from their allotted time, she did her best to not let the chilling bite to her lower half bug her that much.

Eventually a path across was found and they all began to trudge through the water towards the other side. Looking back she saw Toshi still not in the water and she smiled and shook her head. As she was about to call out, Yumeji would tell them to move on the double causing Miu to look at what she saw and groaned as she now pushed herself through the water. It was a bit hard with the water doing its best to slow them down, she cast a look back at Toshi and was about to yell for him to get his ass in the water when he took off running on the water. She reached down through the water and pulled her axe out of it's ring, just to be prepared if a clash did happen.

Struggling through the water, Yumeji reached the other side. Already weapon in hand, the Hojo didn't hesitate to rush further. She couldn't spot the enemy scout that was likely going to warn his comrades about what he had seen. Throwing a look over her shoulder, the majority was about to reach dry land.
Drawing her weapon, she shot a stern look at the troops before flashing a smile.

"Guess we got ourselves some fun! Shields in front! Ready two detachments to deal with flanking forces. Today," Already turning around, Yumeji raised her voice as she slammed the flat side of her blade against her shield, "Those bastards will learn who they are dealing with."
Moving with a confident stride forward, Yumeji kept a close watch. They were moving through light vegetation and up ahead were some hills. Spotting a lone figure up in the distance, Yumeji wondered about something. It was perhaps likely that the scout hadn't enough time to count on how many they were. Which meant that if the enemy would come for them, that they could be surprised.
"Sergeant Sanosuke," Yumeji said as she turned to get a good look at the Sanosuke. "You take some men and hide at our right. I want you to intercept anybody that tries to flank us. I suspect that if the enemy has some nearby troops that they might consider to try to work us back to the cold water. And I don't know about you and the men," Yumeji threw a look, a grin visible on her lips, "But I sure as hell am not ready for a swim."

Pushing through the water until the weight became less and less as the water went from her waist to her knees then feet as she reached the other side. Axe still in hand she glanced around for incoming enemies, when Yumeji dished out orders. Nodding Miu thankfully didn't need to tell the units with shields to get their asses to the front, fifteen men with shields counting her would work well if the attackers weren't tripled their size. As she gave out further orders to her specifically, she would grin back. "Just means the water gets dyed the enemies blood if they do." she said back as she went around and picked out four men and stopped at Toshi patting him on the face. "Come on baker boy you are with me." Miu said as she looked at the other men. "Everyone else you listen to the Captain, if I hear otherwise then you will wish the enemy wins." Miu said as motioned for her group to follow as she took off towards the right side.

Summary:
Following her talk with her Aunt, Yukimi decides to head out and pick up some art supplies with the hope she might run into her teammate out and about. As it happens, she does and tries to figure out a way to make amends for her previous attitude.

[spoili]
Looking around the large bedroom, bigger than most apartments she let out a soft sigh. As much as she detested what her Aunt had asked her to do, she couldn't bear the thought of disappointing her. Collecting her purse from the small bed stand and changing into a simple yet elegant outfit for just spending time around the town, Yukimi was ready to head out. However, before she left the room the girl quickly walked over towards the wall opposite her bed which was covered in a beautiful painting displaying the Republic's capital covered in snow. Similar to the one she had gifted to her Aunt, only this one had four figures overlooking the city from a mansion's balcony. Yukimi, her parents, and Kukiko. A family made whole again, even if only in the fantasy of a painting. Placing a gentle hand against the figures she allowed herself a light smile before quickly moving a few blank canvases to cover the figures before heading out.

"Father, I'm going out." She said as she stopped by her father's office on the way out. The man simply gave a dismissive wave as a response and Yukimi sighed as she left. Would it kill him to at least say goodbye? As she frowned at these thoughts the girl made her way out into the city.

Yukimi knew the chances of spotting the genin were slim to none, so this trip would also be a great chance to pick up more supplies to paint. She could have sent a servant, but she liked to pick it herself. However, plans changed as she spotted the genin at a park… getting taken out by a swing. Uttering a sigh the girl made her way towards Claire and held out a hand to the fallen girl. "Need a hand?" She asked, wearing a more pleasant expression this time around.

Looking up at Yukimi she was unsure what to say. It seemed a bit odd for the Yuki to offer help, seeing she had only threatened Claire earlier that day. "Uh sure. Thanks." Taking the hand she got to her feet. Once stable she glanced at the other, a bit unsure if she should apologise or leave the past in the past. "So what brings you out here?" The blonde tried to make conversation so tension did not fill the air as they stood there. Honestly she was glad Yukimi wasn't holding a grudge against her but she had no information on why she shifted in attitude so quick. One minute distant and cold, like her name, the next helping. Nonetheless she would not complain.

Yukimi simply raised an eyebrow as Claire seemed to glance at her for a moment as if confused. She supposed it was a bit odd after their previous interaction. "As it happens, I was hoping to find you out and about." She explained, taking a few steps away from the the park as she beckoned Claire to follow. "I believe I was rather… difficult earlier. For not giving you the respect you're owed, I must apologize." She said, bowing her head slightly in apology.

It took her a moment to follow, once she was gestured. Claire was dumbfounded by the apology and had definitely not expected that or to hear the word respect come from Yukimi the way it did. "I should be the one apologizing.. I mean it was wrong of me to pry into your life. It's just.. Your name is well known and I got excited to be on a team with someone who everyone has heard of. Me being a nobody it actually was relieving they thought I was good enough to be on your team. I am sure you noticed.. I am not the best yet, and I hate to think I could drag you or Nishi down. After all I could sully your name simply by just being near you." Sighing the teen looked away as she walked and spoke. Maybe she was being too direct but in all honesty she felt inferior. Someone so big as Yukimi being near her, working with her. It was surreal.

Yukimi once more raised an eyebrow, wondering if this was how all the commoners looked at nobility. "I don't believe my nobility factors into who I'm on a team with." She said as she started to walk once more with Claire in tow. "As for soiling my name? I doubt it. I'm a Kunoichi so it's not surprising I'll mingle with others in the corps. I can easily call this some teamwork bonding exercise." She said calmly, though she had to admit this whole respect thing was alot harder than Kukiko had made it sound. Of course the genin was nowhere near skilled, and of course they would be dragged down by her. Yet she held her tongue. "Anyways, I was going to do some shopping and perhaps have some lunch. Care to join me? We can chat and get to know each other." Yukimi said as she tried to pass off a friendly enough tone. Maybe I'll actually find something respectable about you as well. She thought to herself as she awaited Claire's response.

Listening to the other speak, Claire was curious how genuine it was and how much she was holding back. Earlier she had expressed her feelings rather bluntly but the change of pace in tone could have been effort, forced or not. "I really don't have anything planned for the day so I would like the idea of shopping and having lunch together. Though you aren't worried? What if someone starts something, a rumor? I understand we are teammates but I know someone will want to start trouble. After all rivals would want that. Chaos. Then again I am sure we could just kick their asses, or ask Nishi to do something." Laughing softly she shrugged. Maybe this change of pace would work, but did she have anything respectable? Her only driving force was revenge, to become someone who her sister was. Aside from that she lacked skill, was a commoner, was like anyone else. Even compared to other shinobi she was just, there.

"If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask. I am not sure how much information they give out but I got just basics about you and Nishi. Other than that what I said earlier was from rumors and papers. So I really don't know much about you sadly. Like any of your hobbies or your relationships with others." Kicking a bit of dirt as she walked Claire glanced down, waiting for a response. She was curious where exactly Yukimi planned to go, shopping wise and food wise. Would she be happy if the genin offered to pay? Or would that be seen as the opposite? It wasn't like the Yuki lacked money.

Yukimi laughed at Claire's first worries. "It's not like we are on a date, and you're not a man so I doubt we need to worry about rumors." She said, before looking at her hand briefly as she almost mentioned being spoken for already. Alas, that wasn't something she was happy with nor wished to share. "Though please try to refrain from such language, it's degrading." She cautioned the other girl as they steadily made their way through the city.

Hearing her mention about asking questions the Yuki nodded, it was probably a good idea to ask questions about Claire. Seem interested at the very least. "I've an idea. A game, so to speak. We take turns asking the other a question, whatever you wish to know. The other has to answer, then it's their turn to ask a question. You may start." She said as they neared the shopping district that Yukimi so loved to frequent.

"So two girls couldn't go on a date?" Claire teased but nodded. "You're right. I guess I just want to be cautious and not start anything else. I don't want to be on bad terms with my team." She kept her words honest as she spoke. If they were to bond she would have to tell the truth. At the warning about her language she nodded. "I try not to swear but sometimes it slips up." At the mention of the idea the genin listened to Yukimi suggest the game. So a back and forth question and answer? That didn't seem so bad, though she would be careful with what she asked. No prying too deep and nudging into affairs she would not need to know.

"Alright. I think that can be fun and help us get to know each other. So what is your favorite color? I prefer reds and pinks but really any color is fine. I try not to be picky since I know not everything can be what I like." Claire looked at the shopping district. It was one she rarely visited but more so because she preferred to save money. It was a nice area to say the least and the atmosphere seemed approachable. However would there be anything she would like or could afford? The blonde glanced around curiously as her eyes took in the stalls and shops.

"You're supposed to wait for me to ask before answering." Yukimi teased before turning her attention ahead as they entered the district. All around her she saw various members of society, some higher society who she graced with a smile and friendly wave. Others who she didn't pay any mind as they were of a lower level. "I prefer white, or a light blue. The color of snow, or ice when light reflects through it." She said calmly, spotting her favorite shop filled with various art supplies. Immediately she started making her way over. "So Claire, your hobbies. What is it you like to do in your free time?" She asked politely, giving a small hint of interest.

"Oh I didn't think you would ask the same question." She bit her lip softly and watched as Yukimi was friendly towards some and passive with others. Even if she was being nice now it was obvious she did see many as lesser. Glancing at the art supplies shop she took it the Yuki liked art, seeing she was now b-lining towards it. "I think snow and ice can be pretty too. Especially if the light hits them at the right angle. As for hobbies. Hmm well I read from time to time. It helps me dive into another world. I have tried writing but I am not that good at it. I have a small garden at home I help attend to with my mother, it saves us money and fresh food is always the best. My mother tells me my father enjoyed making little trinkets so sometimes I try to make something. Though it is time consuming and I rarely wear them." Those were just some things she did to make time pass and she figured if she went on and on about little things it may get boring.

Entering the shop Claire eyed a few things, mostly paints and dyes. The brushes felt soft to the touch as she ran her fingers over the bristles. Moving her hand away a few wobbled in the container and plopped out on the floor. Blushing she frantically went to pick them up, apologizing to the owner as she placed them back. Upon moving back up she came eye level with Yukimi's hand. A ring was on her finger, one that looked fancy. Something more than ordinary jewelry. "That's a pretty ring. Is it like a family heirloom? It doesn't look like one someone normally would wear when going about the city."

Entering the shop, Yukimi immediately greeted the woman who was just barely older than herself with a familiar smile and a brief hug. "Lady Yuki, you're back already? I hope there wasn't an issue?" the girl working the store said as Yukimi laughed, and seemed genuine with this one. "Nothing of the sort. I came because I am already running low again. Besides, I thought I told you to call me Yukimi. " The Yuki responded before hearing the sound of multiple impacts on the floor. Wheeling around she saw Claire picking up brushes she had knocked to the floor, and Yukimi sighed. "How much for the container? I'll take them off your hands since they've been spoiled. I also apologize for her, she's my teammate and I had decided to try to bond a bit today. My apologies." She said as the shopkeep tried to assure her that it was no problem. Not long after the two were leaving the shop as Yukimi held a bag full of various supplies. She should've brought a servant to carry things for her. Oh well. Looking towards Claire and recalling her earlier question, Yukimi glanced at her hand. A strong feeling of distaste went through her mind for a moment before she spoke up. "I suppose it is your turn. No, it's not a family heirloom. My husband to be gifted this to me during the betrothal ceremony. It was truly quite sweet of him." She said, putting on a fake smile and pretending she wanted anything other than to throw the ring as far away as she could. "What about you, anybody special in your life?" She asked in an attempt to take revenge for such a question.

Hurrying after Yukimi when she left the store, she felt bad that the other offered to buy the brushes that fell on the floor. The shop owner assured her it was alright but still the Yuki bought a handful of supplies. "I can help you carry some of your things. I really don't plan on buying much." She offered as she held her hand out. Claire listened to Yukimi speak of marriage and she was shocked. So young and already in love? " Whoa that must be awesome! Already in love and I bet you have the nicest man. As for me.. I am single. I don't really date, or I don't worry about such things." The genin sighed as she glanced at the ground. "No one really shows interest anyway. Which isn't a bad thing since I can focus on training. I guess you could say I am too cute and intimidate men." Claire laughed and tried to fake confidence.

She knew she was pretty but she never felt she was outstanding. Guys had asked her out before but she focused on becoming a shinobi and now not many did that. It sounded nice in theory to share a bond with someone but it also seemed like a hassle. "I would say I am jealous but I also know relationships take work to maintain. I am not sure I have the energy to keep up with one. Though it is impressive you're so young and able to handle so much. Already a chuunin, a big name and a future husband. That's more than most your age has. I am seventeen and still am leagues behind you. So it is an honor to have you as a teammate. And maybe friend." Smiling she wondered how it felt to be so accomplished.

Yukimi wasn't sure where this girl thought flattery was going to get her, but didn't pay it any mind. She almost snapped at the girl over claiming that her betrothed was probably the nicest guy. Alas, that would be defeating the purpose. Showing respect, and for now that meant making up for her attitude beforehand. "Flattery doesn't suit you. As for being honored? No need for such things, we are teammates and as such need to work well together. No need for flattery or any of the sort." She said as she skipped over the mention of being friends. Passing the bag off to Claire, since she had offered, Yukimi looked around to spot a few more stores she liked. Pointing at one nearby she looked towards Claire. "They've got some really pretty outfits in there. Shall we take a look?"

She shook her head and laughed. "It's just the truth. I am not just saying things to impress you. I guess many would see it as trying to flatter but its just how I feel. I figured honesty is the best policy. Well aside from some situations but I guess right now I feel it'd be best to tell the truth. After all bonding means getting to know one another." Taking the bag Claire looked over at the store that was pointed out. Pretty outfits? It never hurt to dress in nice clothes but she rarely worried about if her clothes were pretty. Any clothes were better than no clothes, plus one couldn't walk around nude. "Sure we can take a look. You go there often?" Claire asked as she made her way in the direction of the store, bag in hand.

Yukimi wasn't entirely sure that she believed Claire. Compliments were never free, everybody wanted something. Not to mention, a commoner like Claire had alot to gain from befriending somebody like herself. For now, however, she'd keep things friendly and calm. "Whenever I want something new, yes. Though generally I have a servant go for me. They usually have a pretty good taste. Do you ever shop at reputable places such as this?" Yukimi asked Claire, not even thinking for a second that her question could be taken as rather rude. After All, the places that some commoners frequented were just so… filthy. Who'd want to buy clothes from a place like that? They were more rags than actually something one could wear.

Shaking her head as they entered the store she looked about. "I wish I could. I usually can't afford expensive clothing. Not that I mind. Clothes are to just cover your body with. I am sure one day I could splurge and buy something from here. For now most of my money is saved up for emergencies." The question felt genuine and well Yukimi was fed a silver spoon or the genin would think so. Not many were born into wealth and had the leisure to spend money. So far she collected the Yuki felt higher, superior and didn't worry about money. Nor understood lower class. Which wasn't bad, since Claire didn't understand the upper class. That and she never worried over questions like that. Now if Yukimi made a comment about her being less wealthy she may have taken it the wrong way but in the end it was the truth and she needed to be patient to learn and understand her teammate. "Do you recommend this place or any others? I could write them down when I get home and check them out."

Having to save your money for emergencies? Clothes being just to cover your body? Yukimi couldn't understand commoners. What was the point in bothering to have money if you couldn't just buy whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. She almost felt bad for Claire but it wasn't her fault that Claire lived the way she did. "As I've said, this place is really nice. I like the dresses. A couple of others around here are nice as well." Yukimi said, biting back the comment of whether or not Claire could afford them. Drifting over to the models wearing an elegant casual dress, one somebody might wear on a day out with friends, colored deep purple seemed to catch her attention. "So then, apart from revenge, why'd you decide to be a Kunoichi?"

The dress looked amazing but it was something she felt she couldn't pull off. And well she definitely could not afford it. "Why don't you try it on and see if you want it?" Claire suggested as she noticed Yukimi was eyeing it. The question she knew would eventually arise. What was her reason? Why was she trying to be a shinobi? "Well honestly the main reason is revenge. But I also want to be someone who can protect others. Someone like my sister, to be strong and amazing. She often helped those in need and she was a talented Kunoichi. Our mother was proud of her and I want to make my mother proud as well. I feel if I were to be able to be a shinobi I could do anything. After all it isn't easy but it does have its advantages. I just hope I can stick through it and make it. Become someone people can look up to and rely on." Turning to face Yukimi she raised a brow. "So what is your reason? I know what you told Nishi was just something to say and get the subject off you. It was kind of obvious."

Yukimi nodded at Claire's suggestion and eyed the dress a bit longer before turning away. "Purple's not my color." She said softly before looking over Claire. "You might, with a few changes. Though you don't seem like a dress kind of girl." She said, thinking to herself for a few moments before deciding on something as she brought her hands together in a slight clap. "Lets find you something… actually pretty. That you can wear around instead of rags." She said, biting back the comment that this was so she wouldn't have to be seen with somebody wearing rags. "So you take the lead. Find a store you like." She said with a kind smile. "As for your question, I became a Kunoichi to be like my Aunt. She's the coolest." Yukimi said with a hint of admiration in her tone.

She tilted her head when Yukimi said purple wasn't her color. Shrugging she just let it be. At the comment of her not being a dress kind of girl she nodded. "Yeah I wear them rarely but that is because I haven't found any that are flattering if I were to be honest." At the rags comment she smiled, well not because she was told she was in rags but that Yukimi seemed to be happy to help her find something. It showed she was interested even if Claire was unsure of the motives behind the words. "Alright, I think it'd be fun to dress up for a bit." Once the pair was finished in the store she headed out and looked around the district. At the mention of an Aunt she looked over at the other. "She is a Jounin, right? I haven't personally met her but I have heard of her. From what I heard she seems like she would be pretty awesome."

Finding a store she liked she let Yukimi follow her in. The store itself wasn't as fancy as the last but seemed to still hold high quality clothes, just not all dresses. Claire ran her hand over a few things before she looked at a blouse. A simple white one, that hung a few inches below the waist. The bottom cut into a v that went above the belly button to show off one's stomach. It had flowers up the bottom to almost the top, different shades of reds, pinks and black and the sleeves were to the elbow. The collar a bit see through but nothing too revealing and it didn't go far down. "How about this? Though I am not sure what would go with it. See anything that might look good with it waist down?"

Yukimi looked at the blouse for a few moments before shaking her head. Did Claire understand that it was going into the colder months? For somebody like her a blouse like that would cause issues pretty soon. With a sigh Yukimi drifted around the store, carefully considering her options before returning with a pair of black pants cut off just above where a pair of boots would reach. She also brought back a matching pair of boots rimmed with fur. To top it all off an elegant yet simple jacket lined with fur. "Its getting cold, you'll need this. Showing off that much skin in dropping temperatures can't be good for somebody like you." She said simply, handing the clothes over to the girl. "Go try it on. I'll hold the bag." She said and held her hand out for the art supplies.

Looking at the clothes Yukimi brought to her she nodded. Handing the other the bag she took the clothes. "Alright, I will try them on. They look cute so far." Stepping into the dressing room Claire swapped into the new apparel and stepped out minutes later. The jacket was open to show off the blouse, the collar lined with brown fur and the sleeves came all the way down to her wrists. It had a few zippers with pockets. The black pants were not tight but did form to her legs, while the boots covered any skin that may be shown without. The fur on the boots rimmed the top and matched the jacket, zippers up the side. Turning around slowly so Yukimi could get a good look she glanced at her. "So does it look nice? I think you have amazing taste, it compliments the white blouse well without drowning it out."

Yukimi had to admit, the outfit they'd chosen seemed to work well with Claire. Even if she would have personally gone for more elegance. Giving a polite nod, Yukimi gave the girl a smile. "It does look nice. Thank you for the compliment, now let's get them for you, yeah?" Yukimi asked the girl with a raised eyebrow. Sure, she wasn't overly fond of the fact she'd likely need to pay. Alas, a necessary sacrifice so she wasn't seen with somebody wearing rags all the time. Not to mention, Father owned this particular line of stores. So it's not like she would need to pay full price. "Afterwards, lunch." She said, thinking after today her amends for previous attitude would have been made. Then she'd just have to focus on giving respect to Claire. Which entailed, she assumed, being polite and not looking down on the girl. That much might prove to be difficult. At least, Yukimi had to admit, Claire did have some charm in her friendly demeanor. She could deal with that.

Smiling at the compliment she nodded. "Well with your help I was able to look nice. I honestly was stumped on what would fit well." When Yukimi talked about buying the clothes Claire nodded. Moving into the changing room she gathered her things and went to the shop owner to pay. Not bothering to change back since the outfit would be bought. Though she would need to clean it once home. The shopkeeper complimented her and Yukimi and totalled the price. The genin was taken back for a moment at the price as she ruffled through her pockets of her old clothes. Sighing as she only had a third of what was needed she looked at her teammate. "Looks like I will have to wait when I have the money. I am sure it will be here in a few weeks."

Yukimi simply stepped up to the counter and pulled out the money to cover the rest of the cost. Although at a discounted price, as the shopkeeper immediately recognized her. "This and lunch will be my way of apologizing for my attitude. Now come, I'm hungry." Yukimi said as the two would head out of the store then off towards the restaurant Yukimi had decided upon. The two would keep a friendly conversation as Yukimi slowly grew out of her complete distaste for the genin, making it a little bit easier for the Yuki to start showing more respect for the genin instead of seeing her as… lesser. Albeit still not to where Yukimi would consider Claire to be her equal by any measure. Still, the two kept up a rather pleasant conversation until they'd go their separate ways after their lunch.

As they headed their separate ways Claire waved goodbye. "Thank you for the clothes and I hope we can get together again. See you when we train." She smiled at Yukimi and began to walk home. She felt better knowing her and her teammate could work things out and get to know each other a bit more. Now she just hoped it would stay pleasant and they wouldn't have another situation with the tension from earlier. Though it would be bound to happen she was sure but maybe now not as much as it might have been if they stayed on the wrong foot.

Yukimi made her way back towards home, thinking back on the events of the day. It had been… pleasant to spend some time getting to know Claire. Not because Yukimi cared, but it was a nice break from always having to act a certain way to appease father and those around her. With a soft sigh she wondered if that was why her aunt wanted her to be more respectful. To try to get her to stop acting as she had learned. Yet she wasn't sure she wanted to stoop so low as to be acting the same as the peasants. Deciding she was heading back to her room, Yukimi wanted to paint the scene from earlier, where she was able to take a break from being the perfect little heiress she was supposed to be.[/spoili][/fieldbox]

Training Facility - Team Etsu.

A collab between Nimeee, Zaneee, Aliceee and Oetjeee!
Part 1

Summary:
Etsu takes her team to the Training Facility complex. There she takes the bells test. The start of the test is where the three girls discuss the plan on how to take the bells from Etsu.

[spoili]
Leading her pupils to the Training facility, Etsu threw a look over her shoulder to Kuni. Hearing that the girl wanted to be addressed by a shorter version of her name, Etsu flashed a smile.
"I am sorry but I think that I will keep it at Yoshikuni. Shame to just shorten a name like that, in my opinion." Was the jounin's response.
Venturing further towards the complex, the team would enter the building. Upon entering they would have to wait as Etsu talked with some of the chuunin that were on duty. Eventually, Etsu and a chuunin would lead the group further into the building. The unknown chuunin led the group to the entrance of the field that Etsu had arranged for today's training. Opening the door, Etsu would gesture for her team to enter before entering herself. Closing the door behind her.

"Ah!" Stretching her arms and raising her hands into the air, the jounin squeezed her eyes closed for a moment. "Now, let us get to business."
Lowering her arms, Etsu shot each of the girls a look.
"Today's training will start with a test. You see, I got these bells." The jounin explained while she produced a set of silver bells out of her pocket. Holding the bells, that were attached to a blue string, Etsu continued talking.
"Your objective is to try to get the bells. Easy as that. I will leave you girls to discuss a potential plan. You three got... five minutes. I will wait over there."
Giving her team a wink, the jounin would casually start to walk away from the girls as she attached the bells to her belt.

Hearing Etsu's remark slightly disappointed Kuni, but she knew not everyone would drop the formalities so quickly. She still had no idea if her new teammates would be inclined to call her by how she requested either.

When they finally went into the arranged field, Kuni felt as though she was ready for anything. She quickly moved her attention to Etsu when the team leader spoke up, explaining what needs to be done and how long they have, the Jinchuuriki would nod. While it was never said if they each needed to have a bell by the end of it or not, she figured it would be best if they worked together, especially if she wanted to make a more proper impression on her new teammates.

With Etsu stepping away, Kuni would turn to look at Kitana and the other girl who was still nameless to her "So, you two seem to know each other, not sure to what extent, but for the sake of forming a plan, let me quickly inform you of what I can do. I have Earth Release, know Hiding like a Mole technique and quite proficient with it, and I'm okay with taijutsu and using the shinobi tools." The Jinchuuriki quickly whispered to the other two girls, hoping one of them could come up with a plan to snatch the bells within the time limit.

Walking with the rest to the Training Facility, Rini pocketed her hands into her raincoat. The complex earned a blank look from Rini as she wasn't still sure what to expect from today's training. Deciding to let it just happen, the genin would follow suit as the team entered the building. Upon entering the field and hearing what Etsu had in mind, Rini felt a cold shiver running down her back. She was quite aware of what the bell test implied and felt the need to ask if capitulating was a possibility. Likely not, so when Kuni spoke up, Rini listened. "Okay. Well, first off, we don't need to whisper. Believe it or not, Etsu-sensei likely either knows what we are capable off. Or more than we can assume." Rini shot a meaningful look towards Kitana. The first meeting with the jounin had proven that withholding information was a near impossible task.

"The problem is that we need to figure out what her abilities are. She is more than capable at taijutsu and wielding some bladed weapons. But I don't remember her using any particular ninjutsu style or element." Rini thought out loud as she shot a glance towards the jounin. "She is likely five steps ahead of us, so outsmarting her shouldn't be our priority." Rini further concluded as she cupped her chin with her right hand as she placed her left hand on her hip. If that was really true, then that meant that they had to do something that Etsu wouldn't expect. Something that radical or out of character that the jounin wouldn't be able to react properly. But what?
"Anyways, for what it is worth, I am decent at tai and kenjutsu. And some wind release." Rini said as she shot Kuni a sideways look. "Anyways, I am considering that we need to figure out something that Etsu-sensei doesn't expect. Problem is that we don't even know what we can expect from her. So planning an approach should include a way on how to uncover her abilities and then instantly react upon them."

Heading to the training facility with the others in tow, she had to wonder what she planned on doing today. Was it going to be more police business? Although she might want to see how they worked with a new team member. Mentally sighing to herself they would reach their training field where the objective was told to them. The bell test. Just those words and the smile on Etsu's face was quite unnerving. Causing her to nervously chuckle a bit as they were given three minutes to discuss how to overcome her.

Kuni would speak first detailing what she was good at while Rini stated whispering was all but pointless. Which it was, the sensei's were given their records and all their details. That and Etsu seemed rather good at getting information one way or another. Rubbing the back of her head she looked at Rini while trying to think of how to do something Etsu couldn't expect coming. "Well I'm good at Ninjutsu, Paper and Water release. Decent enough with bladed weaponry and pretty awful at Taijutsu. Maybe one of us can keep her preoccupied or two of us, so she can't focus enough time on all three. Allowing the third member to find a way to get those bells off her?"

Listening to the two, she got the impression that Etsu was very good at predicting what kind of plans they would make. Tactical genius was very appreciated, something Eiji made sure she knew. Once both finished speaking, Kuni would scratch her cheek slightly. Something unexpected, and potentially one that could give an opening for the other two. Those were the two directions they suggested.

With whispering being deemed not useful by both, Kuni would be uncertain of what to suggest next. While both had described their own skills, going at an unknown was always problematic. Glancing to Etsu, a thought passed her mind, but she was still unsure if she should even suggest it due to how it sounded in her own mind.

"No."

Rini shook her head as she responded with a resolute tone upon hearing Kitana's suggestion. "Remember our last mission? We got taken out but Etsu-sensei managed to both eliminate every hostile contact and drag us both out of that situation. Seeing that we didn't get more wounds resulting from ninjutsu and her weapons of choice back then, she is probably deadly in close quarters. If anything, we need to stay at range." The genin replied, a frown growing on her brow. "If more than four enemies in close range couldn't take her out, I hardly imagine we can score more success. Instead, I need you two to attack her from a range. Throw weapons or ninjutsu. I don't really care. I might be able to draw her out with something but I need you two to keep focus on her and nothing else."

She rubbed her head a bit looking at Etsu as Rini suggested a plan of her own which had Kitana and Kuni being the aggressors and thus the focus point of Etsu's attack. "I mean to be fair as well I….. " Kitana started speaking before being quiet. She still didn't know how Rini would feel about her risking both their lives just so Rini could get experience in killing. "Fair enough I suppose. Although I'd like to know how you plan on drawing her out? If I'm going to be poking a dire wolf in human skin, rather know what you got planned."

"Uhm," Kuni begun "Well, I'm willing to do my best with that, and while I would like to know how you would do it as well, I think it could also be better to keep it. If she can really anticipate the plans as well as you describe it, then it could be better for us to know as little about her plan as much as possible. We could potentially catch her off guard if we react on the spot to the plan instead of a pre-determined reaction due to knowing the plan." She said, moving her sight between Kitana and the other girl.

She took a moment before looking towards the second girl "A bit late, but I still don't know your name while you know mine from the introduction. And I would like knowing the names of those I'm gonna be working with from now on." Kuni said with a small smile.

The genin shot Kitana a worried look. She fretted about what the chuunin would think once she would hear what the idea was. First, Rini turned her attention to Kuni. A second of silence lingered after Kuni's words and it almost seemed that Rini wasn't going to answer the question. "Rini." Was the short answer of the genin before she would continue. "My plan is to make way to the door. I am not sure how effective it is to keep everything from Etsu-sensei. Clearly, she isn't from the regular corps. Nor the ANBU. I worked with somebody who was from the ANBU. The way how we met and worked last time? Nothing like what I learned from my previous team leader." She further stated, thinking about Itsuo. The whole garment and way how Etsu worked when they readied to take down the enemies at the Housha compound made it clear that the jounin had perhaps a tie or background that was linked to an entirely different unit than the ANBU or regular shinobi corps.

"I hope to either lure her out like that or in any case position myself to try to keep her from overwhelming me. We have perhaps a chance at a prolonged fight at a range. Despite her likely being the better in most, if not all, fields, we perhaps have the advance of a larger collective of chakra for use."

Despite not hearing about the plan Kuni seemed to agree on using it without knowing much about it, which was true in not knowing what she planned on doing, yet if their attacks hindered her plan then it was rather risky. Yet Rini would then state what her intention was, which caused Kitana too look at Rini in a rather neutral way. "I mean I get where you are coming from, yet at the same time she can't be an idiot. She will know something is up when we keep our distance, she may end up using that against us and let us wear ourselves out. Well it's worth a shot I suppose. Better than my kamikaze paper clones. " Kitana said although she wondered how heading to the door would draw her out, seemed like an escape attempt which she could not fault Rini for.

Nodding at Rini, who was kind enough to respond, she listened to what the girl had to say. The plan that was suggested sounded more as though Rini was intending on trying to run away while they basically go 'Look at us!', just with shuriken and kunai. Yet at the same time, it could potentially bring out what type of ninjutsu Etsu has. When Kitana mentioned kamikaze papers, Kuni briefly shivered, but quickly decided to nod "I'm in.". The little plan she had in her mind was probably off in the discarded plans department.

"Yeah, I know. But anything else won't really work. Just try to throw ninjutsu and what not at her. If this was a real combat situation, how much use would it be if we would all three sacrifice ourselves? In an ideal situation, one would of us attempt to get away and report it to the nearest allied post. Seeing that I am the lowest ranked, it is only natural that I take the task of running away. " Rini answered back to Kitana, as she threw a glance towards the jounin. "Other than that, if we keep our distance, we might learn what kind of ninjutsu she will be using herself. And if not? well, fuck. Then we know that we really don't stand a chance against her. Either way, we will learn something."

"Think my brother would more so tell us to suck up our beating like professionals, if we said Etsu was hurting us..." Kitana said giggling before cracking her fingers. "Well hope you two are ready then, cause If I'm going to get my ass beat, I'm going to make her work for it."

"Psh. Don't act all cool and shit, Kitana." Rini scoffed as she couldn't help but grin slightly. "Ready? I think that Etsu will come at us once I start to run towards the door."

Giving a brief nod, Kuni couldn't help but like the two already. They had spirit, and she wasn't going to let the two leave her behind. She was gonna do her best "Ready as I'll ever be." She quickly said.

"Truth be told, I am far from," Rini started but suddenly she turned and started to run as fast as she could. Her gaze locked on the door as she tried to make her way towards it. For some reason she couldn't feel anything but a heavy pressure as if she was being held back. Trying to fight against the dreadfully pressure and anxiety of turning her back to a possible killing machine that went by the name Etsu, Rini hoped that her plan would work.

Etsu had created some distance to the point that she couldn't really listen in on the girls talking to each other. It was amusing that Kuni whispered until Rini told that it wouldn't really help. The eyes of the jounin narrowed in delight as she placed her hands against her hips. The genin was quite right about that whispering wouldn't really benefit the group. Even from this distance Etsu still managed to focus and slip into the minds of the three. Slowly catching on what the genin was plotting, the ghost of a smile crept on Etsu's lips.
"Oh my. How brutally unfair."
Waiting a bit more, Etsu eyed the chuunin. Kuni seemed to offer no resistance against the suggestion of Rini. Kitana, however, seemed less eager on the plan but still willing to give it a try. Making a mental note, Etsu's right hand would go to a holster where one of her knives was sheathed. Pulling out the weapon in a fluid motion, the jounin started to flip the weapon while her gaze remained focused on her pupils.

When it seemed that they were getting ready, a blue hue started to surround the blade of the long knife. It became more intense as a soft buzzing sound started to emit from the blue chakra. Grasping the hilt of the long knife, the jounin would dash forwards. Her focus seemed to be Rini that was making her way towards the door, yet she kept a watch on Kuni and Kitana for what they would do in response.

Rini didn't even finish her words and off she went. Kuni watched her dash forward and then spotted Etsu making her way towards Rini with a chakra enhanced blade. Taking out a pair of kunai from her pouch, she would throw them both in Etsu's direction before beginning to form handseals and finishing by touching the ground.

No sooner than did their plan start, did Etsu instantly start running towards Rini. It wasn't even her being targeted and she felt threatened by the charge. Weaving handseals, she would reach into her bag and pull out some paper, sending her chakra into the sheets. She would toss them into the air with them moulding into origami birds which took off flying to cut off Etsu. Once in front of the woman, some would begin glowing. The warning sign of a paperbomb.

She heard some sounds behind her and it was hard to fight the temptation to see how things were going. Knowing, however, that losing speed would equal trouble, Rini kept running as fast as she could. Bringing her hands closer to each other, she felt her heart skipping beats. "Come on, I can do this."

Spotting a pair of kunai thrown by Kuni, Etsu would simply use her own weapon to deflect the weapon as the blue hue extended by a bit. The steel edges were easily deflected once they came into contact with the sharp chakra. Not slowing down, the jounin would whip out three shuriken from her pouch as she kept running. A blue hue started to imbue the shuriken as Etsu kept them in her left hand, further charging them with chakra.
The sight of Kitana's paper release gained more of Etsu's attention. The blue hue around the long knife would lash out, slashing through the paper birds before they were truly too close to pose a threat.
"Tsk tsk, come on girls.~"

Soon after placing the hands on the earth, Kuni would suddenly turn to earth and crumble away. Moving underground after using her replacement earth clone technique, she would estimate she was around where Etsu has begun moving towards Rini from. While remaining underground, she would turn towards the fast moving vibrations of Rini and Etsu and form a few more seals before grasping some of the earth infront of her. An earth hand, being the same size as Kuni's own hand, would suddenly emerge in the path of Etsu, seemingly aiming to grasp Etsu's foot.

Her birds…… cut down before they could…. Well that was demoralizing. She saw a bomb in her face and cut it before it could fully activate. That was just…. well shit kind of sucked there was only one escape door. With Kuni underground she couldn't risk her one technique now, so much for bombarding her from afar. Thinking on the spot, she would weave some handseals and a clone of hers would appear. At this point both would starts sending paper shuriken after paper shuriken around the area. Some at Etsu, some in front. Any way to slow the woman down at all.

Making the distance to the door smaller with each step, Rini would suddenly turn around as she clasped her hands together. Chakra fluxated through her arms and would build up at her hands. More than ever before, the genin focused on to amass chakra in her hands for the gale blast. Though sliding briefly to a halt, Rini tried to stand as sturdy as she could before unleashing the strong wind blast. Various paper shuriken would be caught in the blast, send flying into the direction of Etsu, together with clutches of dirt.

Etsu's main focus was still Rini. Readying the shuriken further, Etsu threw a quick glance towards the chuunin. The fact that Kuni crumbled into earth made it clear what she tried. For a part, the jounin had hoped that Kuni wouldn't do something as obvious as what people expected of a mole. But she couldn't blame the chuunin for trying her usual approach. Flowing chakra to her boots, Etsu would start to move in a certain and less predictable zig-zag burst.
Closing the distance towards Rini, Etsu was about to throw the shuriken towards Kitana to drive the chuunin away. Only to be blown backwards by the sudden blast of the genin. The eyes of Etsu widened as the strong wind punched her backwards.

Managing to land on her feet, sliding backwards, Etsu would use the force to skip backwards to create space. Using her long knife, she would defend herself against the few propelled paper shuriken.
"Clever girl."

Wolf Country, the eastern continent.
At the allied camps - Imperial camp.

A collab between Lesli and ChromeHound

Summary:
Saki Yamanaka goes to the tent of the commander of the Imperial army, present on the eastern continent. Holding a discussion with Hayate Hyuzu, the young commander of the Imperial forces as the Guardians, the two talk about the possible future.

[spoili]

The operation had been a success... That was what they were calling it.

Hayate had a very difficult time considering it a win, however.

The losses they had suffered hit just as hard as the destruction they had caused on the zealots. When he had returned to his post after the night raid, Hayate's aides had begun delivering the reports. Reports that felt like they would never end...

Casualties, wounded, missing in action... the lists continued to grow as more and more information trickled in. Each name on the lists chipped away at him, bit by bit and Hayate could only pray they would end soon. When the final report for the night was brought to him, the Captain Commander read through it with weary eyes. One name jumped out at him and Hayate pushed the report away the pain hitting him harder than any punch.

Hideki...

He had not been incredibly close with the Hyuuga, something he wished now, more than ever, had been different. But Saki... she had been as close to Hideki as one could be. Clenching his fists, Hayate felt a flash of helpless anger course through him. There was nothing he could do or say that would change what had happened or make it hurt any less for his friend. Standing, Hayate moved from the table. He was done with reports for the night...

From that night, time had seemed to pass by in almost a blur. There was much to be done and no time for respite. In a way, Hayate was thankful for it as it forced him to remain out of his own head. Away from the thoughts, the guilt, the pain...

Standing in his tent, the Captain Commander was reading over the scouts reports when one of the Guardians entered. Throwing a salute, which was returned by Hayate, the guard reported that Saki Yamanaka wished to speak with him. Remaining frozen for a moment, Hayate felt as if he had been kicked in the gut as all of the feelings rushed back at once. Taking a moment to regain his composure, the Hyuzu nodded. "Please, bring her in." Keeping his hands at his sides, Hayate waited with apprehension for his friend to enter.

Waiting outside, Saki was facing sideways towards the commander's tent. Her gaze rested on the Imperial camp. Despite everything, it seemed that everybody was willing and ready to continue on. It gave her some confidence that she should hold on to her decision earlier this day. When one of the Guardians stated that Saki could enter the tent, the Yamanaka nodded as she would proceed. Entering the tent, Saki was already grateful that she wasn't standing in the cold. Letting her gaze rest on Hayate, Saki would salute her friend and commander. But no word did leave her lips. Not instantly.

"Saki Yamanaka, reporting for duty. Commander, sir." Once more, Saki would offer a resolute salute, accompanied with a curt nod, towards Hayate. "I was hoping that we could talk about pending plans and moves. Seeing I doubt that the enemy will be content to sit still on their asses after our last course of action." She tried to sound both serious as jovial but was well aware that the second emotion was sounding anything but genuine. More likely to be as wry as the smile on her lips.

When Saki entered the tent, Hayate felt a mix of emotions. The Yamanaka was one of his closest friends and she had just gone through something he hoped he would never have to. Resisting the urge to step forwards and embrace Saki in a hug, Hayate forced himself to remain standing. He watched her face closely as she spoke, trying to get a read on her as she had taught him.

"Saki..." he began, before standing straighter and returning the salute. "It is good to see you." It was not very difficult for Hayate to see through Saki's false smile and tone, however, he did not wish to dwell on it. She was putting on a brave face and any attempt on his part to dispel the illusion that she was alright might cause her to spiral into a darker place than he ever wanted to see her go.

"You have good timing," Hayate said, turning and gesturing for her to follow him. Walking towards the far side of the tent where he had set up his working desk along with the current map of the surrounding area, Hayate waited for Saki to catch up before continuing. "I've been working on planning out our next steps to ensure we don't fall behind. It is very unlikely that they will sit around for too long before launching a counter attack. We've taken a few steps already to be prepared, however, if we really want to continue to break them down, we will need to come up with our own plans of attack." Turning his head towards the Yamanaka, Hayate observed her for a moment before offering a slight smile. "Any ideas?"

Saki was a bit surprised. But in a pleasant way. She had assumed that Hayate would try to hold her back. Try to keep her from playing an active part. She didn't expect him to include her into planning and strategizing. Walking towards the desk, the pale blue eyes of the Yamanaka gazed upon the maps. Listening to Hayate, she would lean at one side of the desk. Staying silent for a moment, Saki tried to think of some ideas. The enemy was still with so much more. A direct confrontation was out of order, despite her desire to just charge and kill as many of those bastards as possible. "I suggest that we try to figure out more about the enemy. I can conduct various sessions with our captives to see what they know. Perhaps learning what kind of organisation they have with their troops. How their leaders look apart from their common soldiers. Other than that, we need to keep the enemy on edge. I suggest that we try to conduct some small skirmishes and raids."

Pointing at the three nearby crosses, Saki continued. "I would like to say that we, however, try to avoid using these crossings. They are most nearby and easies to use but I want to see if we can't find some more crossings. Try to approach and surprise their defending forces at the other side of the river from angles, that they won't expect an attack coming from." Saki paused as she narrowed her eyes, placing a finger at the northern region of the camps and crossings. "Perhaps we could even try to amass some kind of force that will try to wipe out their northern defenses. If we keep them tight, we can try to learn more about their ways. And if we can get our hands on an officer or higher ranked, I can use it to our advantage. Try to read his mind and figure out what we don't know. Or even allow me to sneak into their camp, disguised as one of their own." Saki lifted her gaze from the maps and looked at Hayate. "Just will need your permission, Hayate."

Listening as Saki replied, Hayate kept an eye on her, trying to gauge her motives. When she suggested interrogating the prisoners, his mind flashed for a moment to a cruel scene of Saki torturing the prisoners for information. It was not how she operated, however, and Hayate knew that. The Yamanaka were incredibly skilled in extracting information without the need for senseless torture. With Saki's current state of mind, however, Hayate could not be certain that she wouldn't fall back on more... rudimentary forms of interrogation. "If there is any information you can gather from them, it would be of great assistance. The more we know about these bastards, the better equipped we will be to deal with them." Looking away for a moment, Hayate scolded himself internally. One of the lessons Hiron had taught him all those years ago came flooding back. Never make it personal. The enemy is the enemy. Nothing more. The moment you begin to think of them as more than that, the moment you allow your feelings to affect how you view them... that is the moment you have made your first mistake. The man had been right more often than not and Hayate wished he could be here now. Hiron always seemed to know what to do. What to say... Even if saying nothing was the best choice.

Turning back to Saki, Hayate listened to the rest of her ideas, nodding as he followed along. She had some good ideas regarding counterattacks and launching a full offensive, a few of which Hayate had already considered. Saki's last suggestions, however, were what brought some concern to Hayate's mind. Meeting her gaze, he remained silent for a long moment, wishing he had the Yamanaka's ability to see what others were thinking. The idea was not, at its core, a bad one. However, Saki could very well be planning to go haywire on the enemy, trying to take them all down in a suicidal attempt for vengeance. He had seen it before and, while he could sympathize to a degree, he could not willingly sign off on an action that could bring her further harm. "Let's start with the interrogations," he began after the pause. "Your skills will be invaluable and I need someone I can trust." Keeping his eyes locked on Saki's, Hayate watched to see how she would respond.

"I will relay any information the moment I get a hold on it," Saki replied. She hadn't honestly expected Hayate to give permission. But she wouldn't question it. That would be odd, most odd. When Hayate further spoke, Saki felt a twinge of disappointment and anger. Already words were on her lips and tongue to try to coerce Hayate to allow her organise a skirmish and ambush. Even trying to convince her that it was just the desire to be useful, not to be vengeful. But seeing how that failed, Saki settled her gaze back on the map. Remaining silent for a moment, the Yamanaka nodded.

"Fair enough. I believe we should have some time before the enemy will make a move. So, what more can we do? I doubt that it will be a good idea to sit idle and just try to see if we can counter-attack them if they make a move against us." She thought about the Republican and Lightning country forces. Perhaps there was something that the two other allied parties had seen or in mind that could be of use to them all.

Relieved that Saki had not tried to push the issue further, Hayate turned his gaze back to the map. He had expected an argument, some attempt to get approval for a mission of vengeance. The fact that she did nothing to change his mind was unsettling. Hayate was unsure whether it meant Saki had accepted that he would not condone a revenge mission, or if it meant he should double the watch on her in case she tried to take matters into her own hands behind his back. Pondering for a moment, Hayate decided to put his faith in his friend. "We will have some time, that much is true. However, I doubt they will give us much opportunity to rest before mounting an offensive of their own." the Hyuzu began,

"We've managed to map out a decent amount of the surrounding area, but we've been so focused on building our defense that we have not ventured much further. I like your suggestion that we might be able to find another way to attack. Somewhere that would be even more unexpected and might just gain us the edge needed if it comes down to an all out battle." Pausing, Hayate glanced back at Saki. "If we are to attempt such actions, however, we must involve the other Commanders. our forces alone will not be enough."

"That is only fair," Saki answered on Hayate's comment on involving the other commanders and their forces. There was, however, a thought passing her mind. "Though, there is no unified or central command in this allied army. There is no telling if either the Republican or Lightning commander has already decided to send scouting parties to venture further to just that." She brought up, throwing a look at Hayate. "It might be a good idea to establish more communications and a sense of cohesion with the other camps. I am afraid that I can't do much with that. I have some experience with the Republicans. But nothing with the folk from the Lightning Country or their commander." The Yamanaka further stated.

Nodding his head, Hayate thought about her words. "I will reach out to both commanders," he said after a brief pause, "with everything going on, it will be incredibly important for us to all be on the same page." A thought crossed his mind and Hayate tilted his head, still looking towards Saki. "Do you know anything about the Republic Commander?" He asked, curiosity getting the better of him. Truth be told, Hayate did not know much about either commander. That did not make it easy to trust them. Not that trust was something that ever came easy to him... Still, he felt it important to develop enough of a rapport with the other commanders that they would not be at odds when it came time to deploy the troops. Even a slight hesitation from any of them could mean the deaths of hundreds, if not more. That was not something Hayate could afford.

Saki threw an almost wary look towards Hayate. She wondered how much he knew or remembered about where she had been 'stationed' in the past. "I know a few names of various commanders and high officials of the Republic. At least, that is if they survived the Revolution. But the name that the Republican commander has? Doesn't ring any bell. Might be a new commander or one that was stationed before in the Honey country." She wondered if she could learn more about either commander. It wouldn't be that impossible to sneak into their camps and start to dig in a few minds. Problem was that she wouldn't have the time or right pretext for it. Not to mention, if discovered, there would be even more problems for them to deal with.

"I see," Hayate said, pondering. "I find him to be a little harder to read than the Lightning Commander." he admitted, glancing towards the Yamanaka. "I suppose those from the Republic are typically a little more secretive, however, I do hope that he will continue to be cooperative... Without knowing their motives, I don't know how much we can trust them to have our backs." To be fair, Hayate did not really trust either Commander, at least not yet. Not to the extent where he would lower his guard around them.

Straightening her back, Saki crossed her arms out front of her chest. She didn't know what to expect of the other commanders. It would have been much easier to try to trust them if they were Imperials as well. But the idea of suggesting those commanders to lend their might to the Imperial banner was an amusing one. One also likely to be rebuked with disdain. "If anything, we can try to see what their motives are? Though I doubt it is far from ours. Trying to beat the enemy at the other side of the river and managing to bring a succesful end to this campaign. Perhaps you could try to arrange a meeting while preparations are being handled by others?"

Scratching his chin, Hayate nodded. It was a fair point, but it did not shake the doubt he held. "A meeting may be best. I just..." Frowning slightly, Hayate let out a slight sigh. "It feels weird having meetings amongst all this chaos, you know? I'd rather be doing something tangible..." Bringing his hand around to scratch the back of his neck, the Hyuzu wondered if he should be keeping these thoughts to himself. Saki was a friend, one of his closest. But she was going through her own thing right now. It wasn't right for him to put his problems on her, but a part of him hoped that maybe it would cause at least a slight distraction for her. Something to take her mind away from the stuff that was filling her plate.

Saki could relate. Somewhat, at least. "Might be but if there won't be any communication, the enemy will have an edge over us. If they are being led by one leader then they already got an advantage. Regardless what you think or feel about it, you got to do it. You're the commander, after all." She told him. Knowing fully well that he didn't like to hear it, Saki wasn't so sure who else she would accept as a commander. "If anything, I can arrange the meeting. I suppose with Koike gone that you'll need a left hand to make up for the temporary loss of a right one? As long as it won't bring any formal promotion, you can count on me, commander, sir."

A smile graced his lips for a moment at Saki's words and Hayate chuckled softly. "Are you sure I can't offer you a formal promotion?" he asked, his tone lighter, "I hear the role of Commander is pretty cushy, and I think you'd be lovely at it." Folding his arms across his chest, Hayate leaned back slightly. "On a serious note, however, I would be honoured to have you as my second until Koike's return."

An amused scoff left Saki as she shook her head lightly. "I am convinced. I have my fill of formal positions and promotions. Besides, me as commander? I would have marshalled everybody and went straight back home." When Hayate stated he would be honoured, Saki's eyebrows slightly perked up. "Good," was what she replied at first, "Then I will arrange for the meeting to occur. Obviously in our camp and under our terms. Subtle enough that they can't proclaim some other commander to be in charge but neither too overwhelming that they will complain. But then comes the matter with that we also need a plan. Koike is scouting and trying to figure out more about the enemy. But at one point, we will need to face and drive them off. Regardless if we want it or not, we are going to need to fight that large force. And likely have to be smart about it instead of being reckless brave."

Hiron Hon
Jounin of Team 9 | Major General of the Third Division | Empire of Akino, countryside- Border between the Fire and Grass Province, Uchiha-Hanta clan-lands.

The jounin would pivot while raising his own weapon to parry a strike. His opponent was rather quick and with his short designed blade, he didn't seem to be eager to give Hiron much time and space to react back. Put on the defence, Hiron managed to parry another strike while stepping away for two more vicious attacks. His opponent didn't seem to be cautious but just eager to lash out once more.

Stepping to the right, Hiron brought up his tanto to deflect the enemy's attack. His left hand would clench into a fist. Hiron's opponent would quickly recover and attempt to grab the jounin by the shoulder. Allowing his foe to do so, Hiron would slam his own left fist against the man's face. The knuckles landed the blow right against the nose bridge, the soft cracking sound of bone giving an eerily satisfaction. Before his opponent could reel back from the attack, Hiron lashed out two times with his tanto. Each stab was aimed to puncture the man's abdomen. Grabbing the man by the back of his head, Hiron grunted as he would raise tanto.

Before Hiron was able to deliver the strike, he would feel how he was being pushed backwards. Managing to keep himself standing, he felt a sharp pain at his side. Without any hesitation the jounin firmly planted the tanto in the man's neck, twisting once the steel bite deep enough to shred through tissue and nerves.

Letting his opponent sink down to the ground Hiron would quickly eye how his students were doing, ignoring the sharp stings of pain at his left side. Narrowing his eyes, Hiron was quick to assume that this fight could go very bad. Tentou was still engaging a foe with a sword. Just as Hiron turned to take a look at his genin, his eyes widened.

Spotting how Shikaroku moved forward, Hiron's lips parted as his body already started move on its own. Despite being in countless fights and battles - ranging from small skirmishes to large battlefields of war, the jounin couldn't do anything to stop himself from moving.

Just as the man, that was standing off against Yiko and Shikaroku, was about to move to attack he would be slammed against the wall. Hiron's right hand managed to claps around the side of the head as he used his momentum and weight to slam his opponent against the stone wall.

"One of you! Pull that fucking lever! We need the gate open!" Hiron shouted as he felt how his opponent tried to struggle. The problem was that a sword wasn't the best weapon for very close quarters. Using his other hand to grab the man's wrist, Hiron used his strength to slam the man's head once more against the wall.
"Kill!" Hiron sneered as an order to the genin, hoping that one would be quick of mind and action to move into action. Despite his best attempts, Hiron felt how his opponent was managing to offer firm resistance and trying to wriggle himself loose of the jounin's grip.

Koike Hon
The leader of Team 6 |Specialised Jounin | Colonel of the Foot Companions - part of the Third Division | Lieutenant-Colonel of the Guardians |

Wolf Country, countryside- unknown territory.

Koike rubbed his face. Sitting inside of his tent, he had taken the chance to gain some solitude. The fact that Katsu had gotten wounded was weighing heavier on him than he would show. Despite that the report was that the Uchiha would not take too long to recover, Koike couldn't help but feel responsible. He was higher ranked, more experienced and skilled than his friend and aide. And yet it had happened that he couldn't have prevented him from getting hurt. Lowering his hand, Koike felt his anger boiling inside. Despite knowing that it was most common for people to get hurt in skirmishes and battles, Koike couldn't just casually wave it off.

Looking up as somebody asked for entry, Koike tried to move a neutral expression on his face. Responding back, a second later more light would flow into the interior of the tent. One of the soldiers inclined his head towards Koike before he spoke up.

"The Republicans are done."

Koike remained silent for a moment.

"I will meet with them. Report to Captain Torrad that he readies the camp to get moving." Koike replied back. The soldier nodded slowly as he would turn around, letting the flap of canvas hang back. Koike remained in his tent for a moment before he would get ready. Picking up his sheathed sword and belt, he hoped that the Republican scouting expedition had managed to accomplish their goals as well.

The meeting had gone rather well. Koike had went together with a company of Torrad's men. The Sarutobi were more than wary of the Republican and the feelings were quite mutual. Yet, despite the tension between the Republicans and Sarutobi, Koike and the officer had managed to exchange information. The Republican had managed to figure out that the enemy wasn't enjoying any sort of supply line. Which meant that they were either far away from a base of operations or send as an expeditionary force. Koike did assume the latter but obviously kept that to himself as there wasn't enough evidence to support that.

The two groups would return to their respective camps and forces. The officer of the Republicans stated that he would return as soon as possible to the location of the allied camps, to bring out a report, regarding their findings, to his commander. Wishing them luck, Koike received a similar reply in an even tone.

Returning to the camp, Koike noticed that the unit of Torrad was already busy with cleaning their camp. Working in a most organised as disciplined fashion, Koike looked around. Spotting the captain, speaking with a few of his officers, Koike's approach caused the four Sarutobi to halt their conversation.

"Ah! Colonel, sir!" The lips of the captain crooked into a grin as he offered a firm salute towards Koike. "Our last scouting party just returned. They managed to get quite close and observe the enemy. Apparently, we could lay ambush to one of their outposts with impunity. Just half the company and us, colonel. We would be able to catch up with the rest of the unit before they reach back to the camp." Torrad suggested.

Koike saw the curious and somewhat hopeful faces of the officers, likely eager to surprise their foes with an attack that would set the fact that the Sarutobi were a force to be reckoned with. His anger of before started to rise again. Demanding that Koike would agree. To avenge the likes of Hideki and the other Guardians. To make sure that the enemy would be on their toes.

"No. We will move back to camp. Make sure that everybody as everything is ready within a hour, captain." Koike said in an even tone. He already saw some disappointment on the faces of two officers but Torrad nodded. An apologising smile adored the Sarutobi captain.

"Of course, colonel. I will make sure that it will be done. Within a hour."

Koike wanted to grumble an apology. Not just to the eager officers and captain but also to himself. Instead, he would nod and take his leave. Reaching towards his tent, he saw that Akumu laid in front of his tent. The large black direwolf had his eyes half open, while observing the ongoing activity around. Almost made Koike wonder if the canine was simply bored by the fact it hadn't anything to do.

"Come on. Time to get ready to move out." Koike said, causing the black direwolf to raise his head.

Summary:
The next morning after arriving in Magnhild with team 8, Aiko sets out to venture back to the 'Thirsty Boar' - where she arranged some lodges for her students. Once gathering up with Satia, the two spend some time together. Talking, shopping and relaxing.

[spoili]
She tried to follow Aiko's words as closely as she could to understand what it was that was happening. She couldn't pretend she knew much of the void other than hearing about it by name alone. Despite the Jounin downplaying the skill, the Genin was still rather impressed. "I see..." she replied, her words soft and almost absent as she allowed her mind to drift for a moment, to simply observe her environment and allow her more analytical side to absorb the experience. When Aiko lead them back to the square Satia found her confusion grow but tried to let the questions lay for another time. She tried to imagine that perhaps they were simply existing within a singular frame in time, like a snapped image that remained static except for the two of them. Of course this was merely theory and the truth were likely entirely different, yet the thought interested her still.

Satia turned towards Aiko as she set her things down, following her example as she set her own things down someplace safe before readying herself for a friendly confrontation. "Well, I had that technique I mentioned earlier to debut for you, but I think perhaps it might be more educational to put it to the test in the practical sense" she replied with a smile before adding, "As for the training itself, perhaps something which requires us to consider alternative means of overcoming an opponent" the Genin felt she should elaborate. "I sometimes believe that to better yourself, you must pit yourself against superior individuals... walk among them, observe and aspire to emulate them in the end" Satia gave a small grin, "What I suppose I'm trying to say, is perhaps we should... how they say, test each others metal?".

Waiting a moment, Aiko would hear out what Satia suggested. Crossing her arms out front of her chest, the jounin considered it. Though not overly fond of sparing, she had to say that she was curious about what Satia had in mind regarding a new technique. "Alternative means, huh? I suppose that does make things interesting. Though it will mean that I have to be far more aggressive. But colour me interested."

Increasing some distance between them, Aiko would stop at almost the other end of the square. It was certainly big enough to qualify as some sort of training field. Though Aiko doubted that the paved stones would soften a fall or slide as much as a grassfield would. "So, anything else that you would like to add to this test of metal? If it is trying to approach things in an alternative way, I already can rule out that I won't be using much genjutsu or sense blocking techniques."

Satia brought a hand to her chin as she contemplated the spar a little more in depth, wondering how she could perhaps place something of more interest into the details besides the aforementioned. Coming to an idea she nodded, smiling as she seemed content with her response. "How about this, the aim of the game is for me to be able to lay a finger upon you, literally" she said, holding up her index finger. "You're more experienced, faster and stronger than I am. To achieve this goal I will have to consider indirect approaches to catch you off guard, seeing how you respond to my attempts might allow me to learn from you should I discover myself in a circumstance where keep away is essential between life or death" she stopped and smiled, "But of course you are my teacher, if you believe there's a better way or you believe there is something better for me to grasp in this session, by all means correct my ramblings".

The challenge wasn't original but that shouldn't make it less interesting. "Hmm, no. It is not bad at all. After all, I can't really complain it is unfair or bad. I have more than enough techniques under my belt to make things really difficult for you. So, I am game." The jounin would flash a smile. "So, let us see." Letting her arms slowly hang at her side, Aiko's head tilted slightly to the right. "I am more than ready Satia. Just start whenever you feel like you're ready."

The Genin gave a single respectful nod in response, hearing the word 'difficult' was something Satia quite enjoyed. It meant a challenge, and wherever a challenge could be found was an opportunity to learn and improve from an experience. "I shall do my best!" she said with friendly enthusiasm before she would sweep one of her legs back, gracefully with precise movement as she simultaneously raised her arms in front of her. The eyes of the Genin locked onto Aiko whom became both her target and an entity of her curiosity from this point on, eager to see how the Jounin would handle herself against the different methods she intended to employ against her. With a flick of her wrists the silver throwing knives fanned out in her palms and for a moment it might be assumed she was going for a direct approach with a ranged attack.

With a quick nimble spin she danced to the left, sweeping her arm upwards to unleash five silvery blades to drag across the air above her like a cutting saw, tearing through the ropes holding up the clothes laid out to dry hanging over the square. The garments would descend like rain, allowing a short window of time for Satia to follow through with her advancement, the momentum of her spin bringing her low to the ground as she threw out two more knives that navigated the rain of clothes while hugging close to the floor, intending to snare Aiko's ankles and reel her in like caught prey.

Watching with growing curiosity and anticipation, Aiko would remain standing still. When Satia began her move, Aiko's hands moved slightly up. The sight of the knives caused Aiko's eyes to narrow slightly. She had seen Satia deploying those weapons before, which was back at Amegakure. With no weapons on herself, Aiko deigned it impossible to just evade the controlled weapons. "Oh?" The word softly escaped the lips of the woman as she saw where the knives went. "A distraction? I can't this time crack down on the originality of it. Very nice." The jounin thought to herself as she would skid backwards while moulding chakra at her right hand. The blue hue would swiftly shift into pressured wind chakra. Lashing out, Aiko would whip out two quick gusts that would slash and move the clothing aside, hopefully also slamming the knives into the air away.

Detecting some movement at the ground, Aiko would bring her hand down to deliver one fast sweep of pressured wind chakra at the ground. The result would be quite violent as the paved stone would be slammed upwards together with some debris, driving the two pending knives away.
Satia had wondered if the Jounin would work with the elements to dispel the clothing shroud, having seen what she could do back in Amegakure when she displayed a little of wind and water techniques. Because of this she was quick to retract her knives from the air to avoid them becoming a liability in Aiko's wind blasts, the wires being a double edged blade when thrown out of her control. In fact she remembered reading of a man who used her techniques with her knives whom had lost control of his knives and decapitated himself with the wires on accident. The other two knives were of course blown away and quickly collected as the wires pulled them back to her hand again. Of course it'd not be so simple, though the Genin made a mental note of how Aiko had pressured wind against the ground to create a defense.

The clothes had almost all fallen now and some had been torn from Aiko's violent slashes causing more material to free fall between them, though Satia decided to use this to an advantage. More material meant a more complex shroud and that could still prove a use to her cause. "Adapt, overcome..." she softly repeated to herself before she repeated Aiko's previous movement, expending a strong torrent of wind to the ground to blast the clothing from the ground back into the air once more. Though this time she wouldn't send her knives, but instead shifted her stance and aimed a sidekick to blast the clothing towards the Jounin directly, stepping forwards and kicking from her back foot to follow up the assault, using the clothing as cover for her advance.

The knives were pulled back from what Aiko could spot. It was somewhat of a shame as she had planned to use the wire against the genin. It would have been quite feasible with the use of wind chakra blasts. However, Satia seemed to ready herself to do something else. Readying herself, Aiko frowned when the genin blasted the clothes with a strong current. Which meant that the clothing were sent flying towards her and obstructed her view of the genin. The temptation to use one of her wind techniques to defend herself, Aiko would instead opt to use something else instead. Weaving a few handsignals, the jounin would inhale before expelling a torrent of water. Letting it slam into the ground, it would form a barrier of water with a strong current. Both to defend herself against and lay the foundation of what she wanted to do next.

Her eyes widened when the water barrier raised, soaking the clothes and weighing them down making them unable to sail through the air as a distraction or obstacle to Aiko's vision. She didn't dare to try and physically move through the barrier, prepared that it was surely strong enough to throw her with the strength of a rip tide. Instead the Genin slid to a stop short of the barrier and cast her knives to the side, upwards to anchor into the side of a building, blasting wind release at her feet and kicking from the ground while pulling with her arm to propel her towards the side of the building. She'd brace her feet against the buildings wall upon contract, seeking advantage from the new angle to jump over Aiko's barrier before the Genin would descend towards her after pulling her knives from the wall, collecting a volume of air in her palm as she intended to unleash a violent torrent to flatten the Jounin against the stones, just long enough to land her touch.

Letting the water torrent slowly run down Aiko would quickly proceed with her next move. Weaving a few hand signals in rapid succession, another 'Aiko' would raise from the water. It was way too far from being stealthy to not notice the water clone but that wasn't the purpose. With the water torrent down, Aiko saw that the clothes were down as well. And no sight of Satia.
Quickly looking around, the jounin couldn't spot the genin. Until she threw a glance up. Her eyes widened as she noticed that the genin was preparing an attack from above. Focusing chakra at the bottom of her boots the jounin attempted to move backwards with the extra boost. Raising her arms crossed in front of her, the wind slammed into the position she had been standing. Only resulting that she was further propelled backwards.

Rolling over the ground, Aiko managed to get up in a swift motion before coming to halt. Only with no actual time to do more than to take a quick look where she imagined Satia to be at.

Perhaps she was being overly aggressive as she kept up the momentum of her attacks, but then Satia wagered that trying to keep Aiko on the back foot would play into her advantage, if only to prevent her from using her superior skill and experience to retaliate or evade her to the extent she couldn't continue the pursuit. Seeing Aiko shift back and block to use the pressure from her attack to gain distance was impressive, if only because Satia hadn't thought to consider that herself when fighting against her own element.

The blast of wind had struck the ground where Aiko had previously been standing, failing in it's attempt but succeeding in following through on Satia's countermeasure, the attack slowing her decent enough for her to glide into a safe combat roll across the stone tiles. The younger Cho used the momentum of her roll to nimbly kick herself up into a side flip as she twisted her torso mid jump, sticking her leg outwards to arc it downward as she completed the flip, letting forth a quick arc of wind release towards Aiko's location. The attack was merely to give her time.

Reaching into her sleeve she pulled forth two small seeds, taking one and cracking it before she inhaled a large breath. Concentrating she would exhale a violent red cloud which crawled across the air space, filling the area fast as her lunges pushed air to further it's reach Aiko's direction. The cloud while thick and menacing was mostly for show, the substance within a harmless muscle relaxant that'd slow the movements of the victim or make movements require a lot more concentration and focus. It was the technique she intended to show Aiko before.

Once she was finished dispersing the red cloud she cracked the other seed and swallowed it, allowing her to move freely through the red mist to continue pursuing her teacher. "This is what I wished to show you!" she called, "Application of poisons and toxins via wind release and a little seed, with a counter seed for immunity" she explained. "This particular seed intends to relax physical muscle tissue upon inhalation, resulting in dramatically decreased performance… though this is one of many ideas for the strategy". The Genin tried to pick Aiko out of the mist, her perception seeking any sign of movement.

Lowering her arms as she started to slide to a halt, Aiko kept a close watch on her student. There was the temptation to throw a strong counter-attack back. But the jounin would hold herself back, enjoying the kind of cat and mouse game that was taking place.
Spotting the arc of wind, Aiko would focus wind chakra in her mouth. Letting the chakra build up, she would expel a gust of her own to counter and nullify the first wind arc.

What followed did confuse Aiko slightly. Though having seen various unorthodox fighting styles and methods, she couldn't assume what Satia pulled from her sleeve. Wary though, the jounin's curiosity started to grow. The second that the genin would unleash a red mist, Aiko's instincts started to yell 'danger'. But even though the jounin would try to skid backwards, the mist was faster than she had anticipated. Taking a breath in, Aiko squinted her eyes as she came to a halt.

"Mixing wind release with a poison cloud," Aiko summarized in her mind again. It would be a major hypocrite move to call it dangerous or annoying. Smiling slightly, she would remain still and consider her options. She could remain hidden but she had to breathe sooner or later, suffocating not really an option. There was the option of just blowing the red mist away with wind release but that was too easy. Silently, the jounin would move out of the mist. Reaching the end of the mist, she almost had run out of breath. "Good thing that she isn't yet good at genjutsu. I would have actually been in a really bad spot then."

Recovering for a second, Aiko would raise her voice to make it clear for Satia where she was. "Very impressive! Most genin tends to just focus on the basic functions of a technique, not to mix them with the environment. Or adding the effects of, like, poison to it." She told Satia in return, "I do wonder. What if an opponent will blow this mist back? Somebody with wind release would be a pain if they could do that." The jounin asked, keeping a close eye on if the mist would suddenly be expelled towards her. Wondering if Satia had an antidote, Aiko blinked her eyes rapidly a few times. She didn't feel any irritation, so it was perhaps just the danger of breathing it in?

Satia grinned hearing Aiko's words, not only because of the kind praise but also because it meant her attempt to slow her teacher had failed, meaning she had to increase her creativity, come at her from more different and indirect angles. "I'm glad you asked!" she replied before bringing her hands together, performing the technique that Aiko herself had taught her back after their first training session in Amegakure. 'Let's see what you do with this... ' she thought to herself as a dome of wind spun up around her, increasing in strength as the torrent quickly picked up pace.

The flow of wind within the dome began to drag the red mist towards it like a tornado, drawing more and more into it till the red cloud circulated her like a storm, tightening till the mist itself had its own air current. The manipulation of the air pulling the cloud into a circular current made the mist more dense and controlled, visually pulled into a perfect moving circle around Satia whom was obviously controlling it from the epicenter of the mist. The Genin withdrew another pip from her sleeve, cracking it's case between her teeth before she exhaled it into her circulating storm.

The mist would turn from red to a dark purple, a second layer of effects designed to replicate an irritation using the common stinging nettle as a base for it's design, though unlike the other effect which was still present, this one needed only to make contact. "With the air current controlled and maintained, an attempt to disturb it with wind release will be as effective as trying to dent water... in theory. That is, unless my opponent can generate a torrent that can overpower the strength of my air current" she explained, but wasn't yet finished with her trick. "Additionally, while very effective in defense, I am still able to attack".

Satia drew in a breath and expelled a strong blast of air against the wall of her dome which amplified it with it's current, allowing It to puncture outwards, absorbing both layers of the circulating mist during its trajectory before lashing out towards Aiko like a pillar of fast moving cloud that would aim to slam against her. All Satia needed to do was keep her eyes on Aiko as she moved, blasting more pillars of mist at her like ranged artillery.

Narrowing her eyes, Aiko tried to pick up what was happening. The faint sound of movement was detected by the jounin but she couldn't entirely place on what it could be. On guard, she saw how the poisonous fume would be attracted towards Aiko assumed where Satia was. "Hmmm." Aiko would weave a few handsignals as she wondered what the genin meant.

The woman's eyes would widen as she noticed what would follow. In a quick reflex, the jounin moved to the right as the first attack would just miss her. Holding her breath in for a moment, Aiko would observe the pillar. It was quite creative and she had only seen a similar technique. Though there were glaring differences. For one, she hadn't expected that Satia was able to slam pillars of poisonous mist towards her.

It took a lot of concentration to keep everything together, for not only did she have to aim the pillars of mist at her target, but also maintain the domes shape and the strength of the air current. For a Genin it was fairly taxing, but if anything Satia seemed very at home in her element with Wind Release. Her eyes narrowed as the first pillar missed, crashing against the wall before the pillar lost shape as the air within it destabilized and dissipated into the non controlled air space. Her heightened perception kicked in as she began to lead her next shot, aiming for where Aiko would be rather than where she was. The young Cho took in another breath before exhaling another blast, sending forth a pillar that would strike Aiko directly as it's trajectory traveled to meet her mid movement.

Seeing the pillar hit her eyes widened, having honestly not expected it despite her determination and persistence. The Genin couldn't let the opportunity pass, deciding to use this moment to follow up and advance. She dropped the dome and followed the momentum of the air current, timing the drop in the mist's momentum to direct the entire mist cloud towards her in a huge AOE attack as she spun on her heel and kicked it towards her. It was her single largest AOE attack but due to her limitations in experience as a Genin she wasn't able to kick all of the cloud towards Aiko, only a large portion of it. Of course she'd used a lot of her Chakra already.

Kicking from her back foot the younger Cho followed the cloud, weaving between the dense and thicker parts of it before leaping forth to jump out of cloud, almost like appearing out of nowhere to aim a quick finger punch to tag Aiko's shoulder.

The shock was there for Aiko as well. The collision of the pillar of mist wasn't painful but it was enough to make Aiko flinch and stand still. Only for the entire poison cloud to descend upon her. Raising her arms, the jounin seemed to do something but would be too late. Eventually, the woman would be surrounded by a poof of smoke, only to fall apart what seemed to be water.

"Oeh," Aiko's voice resonated from behind Satia's current position. "That would have been really nasty." The jounin had her hands at the back of her head as she stood at a safe distance while looking at the spot where Satia's attack had descended upon. "Just a question. How many opponents were you facing over the course of this fight?" Aiko asked, her gaze shifting towards the genin.

"Gotcha!" she smiled as her finger punch landed, only for Aiko to seemingly fall away into a puddle of water leaving Satia to seem momentarily confused before her mind began to work out what happened just as Aiko's words spoke up from behind her.The Genin closed her eyes for a moment as she exhaled and smiled, shaking her head as she recomposed and turned towards the real Aiko... or well, who she thought might be the real Aiko. Satia had fought very aggressively and hard into the engagement and had managed to catch her clone, leaving herself with a low Chakra pool and a level of exhaustion. If the Jounin had been her real enemy she'd be easy for her to kill at this moment in time.

"You truly are outstanding Aiko-Sensei" she replied with a small soft chuckle before answering her question. "I'm honestly unsure now how many of you I was fighting, I admit I thought I had zeroed in on your position from the start, I couldn't even guess at what moment you might have switched" she confessed honestly. Satia had tried to keep Aiko in her sight for the majority of the engagement in hopes she would prevent exactly this from happening, but it seemed the Jounin had managed to slip away at a moment where Satia had provided an opportunity.

The jounin shook her head as the ghost of a smile appeared on her lips. "Outstanding? I disagree. You were simply too focused on me. I made one Water Clone and kept the clone away from the clash. It is an old trick that works quite well, as you can now verify." Aiko explained. She was also aware that if she hadn't a clone to use the switch technique with, that she would have no chance to come out of that poison cloud without being affected.

"But quite the combination. I must applaud you once more. Even if it starts to seem like something I easily do. Which is quite the opposite." Aiko said. "I do think that there are some fields we could work on but it is clear that I need to be careful on how low I let my guard be during spars with you from now on." Pausing for a moment, Aiko considered that the spar was over. Starting to walk towards Satia, Aiko eyed the younger Cho for a moment. "Are you feeling well though? Certain you didn't breathe in any of that poison? Not to mention, what kind of poison was that?"

Satia took in a deep breath and exhaled it slowly, a method of calming the body and mind similar in practices to meditation which she'd learned many years ago. "Thank you" she replied in response to the praise before giving a single understanding nod as Aiko went on to explain that praise was not often common in her vernacular. She thought back to the water wall when Aiko mentioned the clone and suddenly realized when she'd gone wrong, instead of dealing with the clone she'd tunneled onto her pursuit of Aiko and let it drift from her mind which of course had cost her the engagement. Nevertheless the experience did exactly as she'd hoped in teaching her methods of evasion and things to consider going forwards.

"Oh I'm quite alright, thank you. I should explain though" she withdrew two pips from her sleeve and presented them to Aiko once she was close enough. With her other hand she pointed to each pip individually, "I've taken to coloring the shells of these pips so I can tell them apart, but you see this one here" she pointed to a red pip, "This was one of the ones I used earlier, simply pinch it between your teeth and exhale wind release to create the cloud effect I demonstrated earlier, however such an attack will of course have repercussions on the user if they're left unprotected, which is what this one is for" she pointed to the other pip, "This is the antidote or counter pip. Unlike the other, the user can simply swallow this to avoid suffering the same effects. Additionally, you may also use wind release to exhale the antidote or counter effect into the cloud to neutralize it".

"I took one of these pips to avoid suffering my own attack and it is what allowed me to traverse the cloud unharmed" she smiled. "The first cloud, the red one. It was a design intended to trouble you upon inhalation, it would work like a sedative to slow your movements which would allow me to close the gap with an advantage. The purple mist, that one was of a more simpler design using a stinging nettle plant to cause irritation upon contact... would also have been rather uncomfortable to inhale too" she softly chuckled. "I have many plans for these pips, I think it could have some real applications in the field for a multitude of situations".

Leaning slightly forward, Aiko eyed the pips that Satia revealed. Cupping her chin with her left hand, Aiko nodded to indicate that she understood Satia's explanation. "I see, I see," the woman mumbled as she became silent for a moment. She had already thought of the flaws that the particular combination of poison and technique could have. But it was clear that Satia had given it some thought herself. Thus making it only redundant to repeat how dangerous such a style of fighting could be for the practitioner.

"What about your allies? I take it that you could forge plans to share the antidote with your allies. Making them immune or somewhat able to resist poisonous fumes that you conjure." Aiko brought up, both asking as thinking out loud. "I think it is quite ingenious. I prefer to work in a different fashion with my poison but this isn't bad. Not at all! If you would find it alluring, I could look into what I could provide to aid you to further this kind of technique and combination."

Satia smiled and nodded at the mention of forging plans to help allies. "Oh definitely. I would have to give members of the team the antidote pip and explain that they would need to swallow it before the technique could be put to use, to avoid catching them in the attack. I think the max potential for it would come from premeditated attacks where we'll be looking to engage in an ambush scenario, or perhaps a situation similar to our previous mission where we'd confirmed a plan beforehand" Satia replied.

Of course the technique combination wouldn't work as well as an unplanned attack in a fight with friendlies present since she would have to count on everyone else to realize her intentions and take the pip, which would honestly be too much of a risk. However should she find herself up against multiple targets she dared to say it had some very real potential in terms of keeping her alive, at least that was her own opinion anyway. When Aiko mentioned offering aid to help her increase the techniques potential she smiled and have a nod. "That would be most appreciated, I'll gladly take anything you can give me" she said optimistically.

Aiko placed her hands at her back as Satia provided an answer in return. "Very good. It would be quite bad if your teammates would be struck by poison. I doubt that Neji or Kazumo would be too upset about a mistake but not take kindly to be poisoned by an ally." A clear sliver of amusement was present in the woman's voice.

"Glad to hear so. Your own initiative to combine it with Wind release is already a good step. Seems that you're already aware of what weakness it can bring and how an opponent could counter this. Hmmm," Aiko would turn away and start to pace back and forth as she pondered about a few things. Coming to a halt, she would slightly turn towards her pupil. "I could see if I can arrange some space and time in a workshop. Teaching what I know about how to make poison bombs. Cause while Wind release is quite dandy, it can sometimes be more effective to throw a bomb and let the poison be expelled as spread by a small ignition or shockwave from a small explosion."

The Genin leaned her head to the side a little as Aiko went on to explain about poison bombs, something that Satia hadn't considered to use before given her methods and style was more quiet. Nevertheless she was curious to learn what the Jounin had to offer in terms of the combination of pyrotechnics with poison. "I have to admit I have little to no experience with explosives and pyrotechnics, it's always seemed to be that there's a lot which can go... wrong, if handled incorrectly" she remembered reading up about a situations where explosives had detonated before their fuse timer, leaving the user without a hand and sometimes more depending on the payload.

Satia's reply made Aiko flash an apologising smile. "That is more than fine. I got some connections that I can put to use. It is also just an idea," she continued pondering about the topic. There were various other ways but right now she was sure that the there was little to nothing that should be changed about the way how Satia handled the poisonous wind pillar. The combination could be countered but it wasn't that flawed that it raised too much concern.

"I think that the combination is quite solid. The more I think about it, the less that I actually would change regarding it. Obviously, it would be ill-advised to use it against those who utilise fire release. Seeing that putting yourself into a vortex of fire doesn't sound healthy." The jounin concluded as she shook her head lightly. "I do think that concludes this training. Unless there is something you still want to ask or talk about regarding this training. Else I suggest we head back. I prefer to not linger too much around here."

Satia nodded, she wouldn't turn down the opportunity to learn about explosives if not to at least have a better understanding of dealing with them from opponents, but she had to admit she disliked the idea of carrying them on her person just in case an attack managed to detonate it on her person. When Aiko asked if she had anything else she wished to discuss she looked like she was about to shake her head before having a thought, "Actually I suppose I wouldn't mind a second opinion on something" she said, reaching into her wrist and pulling forth a throwing knife, pulling it out till she exposed the thin wire attached to it. "As you know these wires are something I've been using for quite some time in my combat skill set, however I've considered the possibility of changing up the wires to something more... deadly" she was unsure of how to describe her intention so decided to elaborate. "I was thinking of changing out the simple wire filament for razor wire or something akin to cheese wire which would of course be more deadly" she looked to Aiko, "Although the risk is, if these wires were somehow sent back to me out of my control... I could be losing my hands, and possibly much more. But what do you think?" she asked curiously.

Upon hearing that Satia wanted a second opinion, Aiko flashed a smile to assure the genin that she had all the attention. Leaning forward to slightly be able to inspect the wire better, Aiko didn't respond right away. "I wouldn't do it." She would say at first. "There are other ways to make even a dull cord deadly or able to cut through material. Not just talking about friction but we could, later on, delve into chakra flow and similar ways on how to achieve a similar effect. " She further explained.

"It is, after all, much like you said yourself. If you would replace the wire and you lose control, the damage could have been prevented if you hadn't replaced it. In the case of chakra flow, you simply stop fluctuating your chakra into the wire to make it less of a hazard for yourself. For when you lose control, for example."

The Genin listened and nodded, smiling as she understood. "That is a far better alternative, thank you" she said before tucking the blade away into her sleeve again, the bracer giving a small click to signal the knife has been returned safely. "I wasn't even aware of such techniques, though I suppose that comes with experience" she gave a soft chuckle. "I have no further questions for you Aiko-Sensei" she said softly, giving a respectful bow of her head.

"Heh, that is why I am here for." Aiko said, a soft laughter escaping her as she briefly rubbed the back of her head. As Satia commented that she had no further questions, Aiko would nod. "Then I suppose we can conclude this training. I still got time to spare. If there is something you would like to do in the city, then I wouldn't mind to accompany you." She said. Moulding the chakra in her hand, she would raise her hand as she continued talking.

"But first, let us get back." Placing her hand on Satia's shoulder, Aiko would extend the chakra and let them both be engulfed rapidly by chakra that had a green hue. By what seemed to be the blink of an eye, the two were back near where they had entered the void. "There we are. Aiko said, clasping her hands on her hips.

Satia nodded before bracing herself as Aiko began to change the environment once more, however as much as she'd tried to brace herself for it she still couldn't help but feel a little nauseous before it began to fade slowly. "It'll take time for me to get used to that... " she commented with a small amount of amusement towards her own situation. She considered what else there was to do here, not really knowing the area that well she considered the possibilities as she once again lifted her bag of herbs bought earlier. "I don't know this place very well, but while we're in the area perhaps we should check in with the cities notice board and see if there aren't jobs we can assist with?" she asked before elaborating a little.

"I mean, there are likely people here that could use our skills and talents. And it'd be a good way of earning coin to fund our mission and gear for the team while doing a good deed, wouldn't you agree?" she asked. She remembered picking up coin in her spare time by dealing with minor threats for local townsfolk, usually dealing with thieves or dangerous wildlife that'd nested too close to the village people. Helping people was of course something that pleased the Genin regardless of social opinion and even if they were going to accept monetary gain it would further their own goals too.

"Heh, yeah. I used to feel dizzy and out of place whenever I trained with the technique. Eventually, you may get used to it." Aiko replied. Listening to what Satia suggested, Aiko didn't consider it a bad idea. She didn't think that money would be a problem. If anything, that was something Aiko could easily arrange for the team's expenses. The fact, however, was that taking a request of a notice board could bring some experience to the table. And the experience that an undertaking could bring was always welcome. Even if it just allows Satia to learn more about the city and its denizens.

"It is a grand idea. Though I think it might be a good idea to then drag in Kazumo and Neji into it. Even though they are chuunin, they aren't that vastly experienced. How about we later go do that as a team? Might help you three get to know more about what each of you is capable of." Was Aiko's answer. "Else I can even request the local authority if they would have a task at hand for the team."

The younger Cho brightened at the idea of involving the others, giving a single pleased nod. "That sounds like a great idea, having the others broadens our efficiency and ability to complete the tasks" she agreed. "And as you said a good opportunity to gain some experience" she replied.

Aiko was glad to see that Satia found the suggestion good. It gave some hope that the younger Cho was eager to work together with her team members. Besides the long trek that they had made altogether, there hadn't been much room to work or spend time together. "Good. I will arrange something then. Not to mention that I already had a sort of excursion for the team planned anyways. I can get to it right now unless there is something else on your mind?"

The Genin shook her head with a smile, "No I think I'm content for now" she replied simply. "Thank you for spending this time with me Aiko-Sensei. Training aside, it's good to talk and simply enjoy company every once in a while" she said before turning herself in the direction of where the others were, assuming they would be heading that way.

Flashing a smile, Aiko nodded her head in agreement. "Indeed." As Satia would go back, Aiko wondered about something. The genin was picking things up quite fast. At this rate, she would require training that would be considered advanced. Too advanced for a fresh genin. While Satia went back to the Thirsty Boar, Aiko decided to head back to visit somebody. Perhaps she could arrange something to provide a good challenge for both genin and chuunin of Team 8 alike.
