A collab between Glitchybugger and Roran Hawkins
The City of Oakrath, Pinedale

After initially meeting the team at Oakrath, Kyoi decided to have a few quiet words with Kensuke about their apparent personalities and gather a bit more information.

Meilin had gone off to apparently meet with one of the council of the town and rather crudely rejected Karma's request to join for the talks, it really wasn't Kyoi's place to deal with this team's problems seeing as she was meant to just help whomever showed up, but now that she was left to her own devices again whilst Meilin was gone, she felt she had to have a few words with the actual leader of the team, Kensuke. He'd just gone in to check on their other team member, Sen, so Kyoi approached the door to the room and knocked on it a couple of times.

"Say, Kensuke, would you mind if I had a brief word with you? Now is probably the best time whilst your students are busy."

Kensuke looked down over his shoulder at the older woman and considered her words without missing a step before nodding curtly. "Sounds like a good idea." He agreed, and motioned for her to come along.

"Thank you." She followed behind Kensuke and waited until they were in relative privacy. "Honestly, I'd like to address the elephant in the room here. Has something happened to the other members of the team for them to act like this? Meilin seems to be quite controlling and Karma just seems quite negative. I've not seen genin act like that since the end of the war."

Knocking on the door of their room Kensuke awaited an answer from Sen. "Yes. Meilin's family was abducted by the zealots. She yearns for vengeance." He said. "Additionally, as she knows these people better than anyone else and we had some trouble initially engaging in good relations with them she has taken control of the team." He went on. "Of course, as the only one with the trust of the Blackroot it was easy to blackmail me into the position, but frankly I don't mind that much. It's a good lesson for her to learn to walk between the lines now as a 'leader'. That, and she got us in here. I confess I have a thing or two to settle with the zealots myself." Kensuke then explained. "Karma's just a bit awkward. She's at that age. Either way, they're not bad people. If you'll have any objections to the situation you're free to walk away."

The information that Kensuke had about his students was rather enlightening, knowing there were personal reasons for fighting against the zealots within the team's members was insightful also. "Well that explains that issue, but I was sent here to be of help to any team that came through and I'm not about to just ignore a team that could do with help." Kyoi paused, the first question she wanted to ask now out of the way. "I have one more thing to ask, if you're okay with it, you don't have to answer if you don't want to but I would appreciate knowing. As I've said before I've no problem working with you, but why do you have a bad reputation with the Hyuuga clan?"

He smiled a mirthless smile when Sen came out of the room and looked at him, one dreary eyebrow raised in an unspoken question. "Gather with the rest of the team at our table." He said, and turned to lean against the doorframe as Sen went for the table, leaving him with Kyoi. "I assume you have heard of the entire affaire surrounding Ezuri and Matsuri Hyuuga?" He asked. "Matsuri was in my team when she went rogue and 'brought dishonour' to the Hyuuga. They saw fit to blame me for it, since we were close and there had already been bad blood between her and the main branch. Her return didn't bring any improvements, nor did her recent disappearance." He said on an artificial tone. "And Ezuri was my teammember too. Despite my presence the boy was abducted once by a rogue group attempting to earn money off his heritage. He acted against my direct orders when he was captured, but that matters little to the Hyuuga. I endangered him after corrupting Matsuri." He explained to Kyoi. "That's the gist of it. So, if you're set on helping us, you're more than welcome to do so, because there's a specific something that I'd like you to look for when we have a hostile encounter."

Kyoi listened intently to Kensuke's explanation about his reputation with the clan and began to frown once he had finished speaking. "I see why they would think it to be your fault. The elders and other clansmen would never admit that another of their clan, no matter how poorly they got on with them, were to easily fall from grace like that and stain the Hyuuga name so they would blame whomever seemed convenient. It's despressing that they're like that really, too proud of the bloodline. I would say you needn't worry about me suffering the same fate, but that would be presumptuous of me." She sighed in resignation after that and shook her head, "Thannk you for explaining everything. So what is it you want me to look for whilst we're out there?"

He looked around and leaned in when he spoke, as if expecting someone to overhear their conversation. "Back in Keishi when we first fought the zealots they had a mysterious, very powerful ally or leader. Multiple even. We managed to recognise and dispatch one of them with some chance. We had a Hyuuga with us at the time as well, who could recognise them to a certain extent. They are shapeshifting beasts covered in a thick shell of chakra. They'd absorb the chakra of any attack sent their way, strengthening them. They could gaze into your memories upon a touch and drain your chakra as well. Highly dangerous foes, but their outer appearance and their appearance to the Byakugan differed quite wildly. If you ever notice something like that, let me know, immediately. He sniffed and adjusted his flak jacket once he was done.

The knowledge that a creature able to shapeshift and absorb chakra, let alone tapping into the memories of those they touched, left Kyoi quite wide-eyed after Kensuke finished talking. "That is... Disturbing, really. I will do my best to look out for those creatures. The Hyuuga that was with you that recognised them, did they have any way of countering them or did you discover an apt method to combat them? You did dispatch one after all, even if it were by chance."

He offered her a grim smile as he pushed himself off the wall. "A trap upon a trap. He tried luring us, but we intended to capture him, so he allowed us close assuming he could overwhelm us, but we knew that getting close was dangerous so we'd have to attack quickly. We were faster. Barely."

A brief nod was all Kyoi gave for a moment. "...The risk is high but understandably worth it if it ends up slaying the creature. I will be as vigilant as is physically possible whilst we're out there. Is there anything else I need to know before we prepare to leave?"

"Not immediately, no - oh yes. Boggarts are attracted to chakra, so take care. That'd be it though." He said, and shrugged. "Let's head back."

Kyoi gave a sharp nod, "Understood," and then followed behind Kensuke to sit back down at the table in the barracks.

In Oakrath,
Team 'Meilin'.

A collab made by Roran Hawkins, Glitchybugger, Nim and Oetje.

Summary:
Meilin returns to the group that awaits in the barracks. There she briefly asks if they are up to listen to her orders. The team answers that they are and then are given the coordinates to meet up with her, which ends up with the team going to the barracks after waiting for an hour.

[spoili]
Opening the door Meilin threw a look inside before entering further. She had visited the armoury and while she wasn't sure what she should take there were some friendly blokes who were quite helpful. There was some distrust if she was truly allowed to take some items and equipment from the armoury. Luckily for Meilin, Ragnhild had appeared briefly and instructed that the Cho should be allowed to take what she wanted. Thus she entered the barracks with some new gear. A shield hanging at her back while the soft jingling of the steel chainmail hauberk resonating with every step she took. She found that more than enough gear as she was certain that others could use it better than her but once the keepers of the armoury had learned that Lady Oakrath had instructed she should be well geared, they had insisted that she should take with her a handaxe as well a helmet. For a moment she had felt like a hero from the old tales, readying for a long voyage to visit distant lands or heading to war. Or both, she thought a bit amused. Now, however, entering the barracks she raised her left hand to scratch her neck. Where she had felt like a warrior of the old tales, she felt a bit wary for what the others would say.

Noticing that the team was still somewhat in the same place was a good start. Not to mention that they had likely seen her and that it would thus be awkward if she would take her leave. Briefly, the thought came up that she could still just leave them here. Sighing, she decided to give it the bunch one chance. The memory of Hideki and Kensuke granting her one chance came up and almost annoyed Meilin forced herself to focus on the present. There was already a difference that she noted, one that caused her to frown.

Karma sat alone.

Heading towards Karma, Meilin tilted her head slightly to the right. Taking a seat on the other side of the table Meilin managed to sit without any discomfort. It was just getting used to the chain mail hauberk. She had imagined it to be heavier but wearing a belt helped to distribute the weight. It just meant that she wouldn't be really able to sneak upon anybody but she figured that she wouldn't need to do so anytime soon anyways.
"Sooo," Meilin started, "Why are you sitting alone? Got into a fight with the rest?" She asked, not hiding her amusement or good mood.

Looking up at the approaching person, Karma noticed how much Meilin appeared to have cheered up. Well, at least one of them got into a better mood than before "Didn't get into a fight, but when Kensuke left to find Sen I decided I didn't exactly want to stick around miss optimism over there." She said and lightly gestured at Kyoi "With some of the things we've seen, alongside being in an unfamiliar place, my willingness to deal with optimistic people is very very low. Unless you say I have to deal with it." She said. Briefly giving the table across from her a look, the men that sat there before already left, to what end she didn't know. Perhaps they didn't like the thought of her looking at them.

Turning to look at Meilin, Karma started taking out a page from the open notebook on the table in front of her "Seeing your mood rose, can I assume the meeting went very well?" Karma asked while she finished taking out the sketch and then offering it to Meilin "And I really didn't mean to sound like I don't trust you before. I just encountered a small settlement leader before that was certain the moment a minor danger got dealt with then everything else was fine. About a week later my previous team got another mission in the exact same settlement, and it turned out the small danger covered something much larger, and the leader still refused to achknowledge it. So it was from my own experience some high ranking people can be ignorant at times." She explained.

Listening to Karma, Meilin remained silent. She shot a subtle look at the others. It was good, in Meilin's opinion, that she wasn't alone with just trusting some person suddenly trying to join at their side. Made her believe that she wasn't some paranoid or super distrustful person. To some sense, at least.
"No," Meilin said, "You won't if you don't want to. Am somewhat hoping that her story is true but have no way to confirm it. Perhaps she will prove herself useful. Perhaps not," shrugging lightly Meilin would lean slightly forward with her left arm on the table as placing her right hand on her right knee.

"Yes and no," was the answer of Meilin at first. She would be silent for a moment, taking in the small story of Karma and her previous team. Glancing at the sketch, a faint smile crossed Meilin's lips. It was a sketch of her holding her sword. Not bad, not bad at all was Meilin's opinion.
Leaning slightly more forward, Meilin locked her eyes with Karma, the Cho would reply back in a softer tone.
"Good thing that I am not a high ranked leader then~." The words were followed with a smile. "As for what has been said, let us forget about it. I might not show it or be willing to show it, but I do truly appreciate your support."
Straightening her back the teen would get up.
"But let us join the others. I will want to make a decision on a basis on what will follow." Gesturing Karma to join her, she would walk toward the table where Kensuke, Kyoi and Sen were sitting.

"So," she began, her right eyebrow already being raised, "I just had the honour to chat with some of the council members of Pinedale. To keep things for now short, I am going to ask you all one question."
Placing her fists on the table she would shot the people present at the table a stern look.
"Can I trust you to accompany me without any back talk, without any resistance or what so ever?"

Giving her a smile in return, Karma quickly placed her things back in the backpack, got up and followed Meilin to the table where Kensuke was at. She did not sit down next to it, instead giving a piercing glare at Kyoi for a moment while listening to what Meilin had to say. Turning to look at her, she wanted to smile to Meilin, but the stern look her teammate gave them made her decide otherwise "I think with the way things are going, I'd be quite foolish to talk back or resist, so you can expect none from me." was her response.

"We've had this conversation before." Kensuke said on a tone that suggested she beter get down to business. He spared a glance for Kyoi to judge her reaction and then shrugged. "Let's hear it."

Meilin unleashed a soft sigh as she fixated her sight on Kensuke. She wouldn't reply instantly but lock her eyes for a moment in silence on the Nimatsu jounin.
"I know what I said before. This time, I am asking it again cause I want to be certain of it. Might be a bit repetitive for you but this time the stakes are higher. I like to be certain if things haven't changed yet. I hope that doesn't sound too strange for anybody here," Meilin replied.
"As for what is happening, I can't yet explain it. Time is running short as I am to meet up with captain Amund and his men. The enemy is advancing and all that I can further share at the given moment is that if no action is taken they will attack an entire town."

Kyoi had briefly spoken with Kensuke whilst Meilin was gone, but by the time the Cho had returned she was back at the table minding her own business. With Meilin back on the scene Kyoi briefly raised a brow at her newly armoured appearance but had a feeling that such attire was relevant to what was about to be the issue. She felt eyes on her for a moment after Meilin's question to them all and gave the girl a smile. "Now that I understand the situation better, I'm ready to do what I can to help."

Meilin shot a look at Kyoi. The Cho was considering something before she spoke up.
"Good. The gathering will be at a market place. I need you guys to go there. I will need to do something small on the behalf of the Pinedale council," Meilin said, "The market is some blocks away from here but I doubt that you guys will have too much trouble to find it. There should be a large stand that sells cabbages. Meet me there."
Straightening her back Meilin would half turn around but decided to add something to her instructions.
"I am not sure how long I will be gone but just don't get yourself into trouble the short time that I will be trying to arrange some gear for you guys."
That having said, Meilin would start to make her way towards the door.

"I can show them to the market, I've been in the city long enough to know where everything is." Kyoi remarked, politely waiting for Meilin to head out before looking to Kensuke and Karma. "I'll show you where we're headed once you're ready to go. Will Sen be coming along or should we let them rest?"

Karma nodded lightly as she listened to the instructions. When Meilin begun to add the fact that she doesn't know how long she will be gone for, Karma didn't change her expression, but that already tipped her off. Meilin still didn't trust them, despite what she said. She was going for whatever it was alone, and didn't want them with her. Turning to look at Kyoi, who said she could show them to the market without any problems, she lightly shook her head "You guys go ahead, I need to take care of something first. I'll find my way there." She said, briefly looking towards Meilin and then to the table where the men sat at previously.

After a moment of thinking, Karma quickly approached Meilin and walked besides her "Good luck with whatever you are going to. Hope you manage to get more answers." She said and then stopped, allowing Meilin to continue walking forward while she begun to head towards a different exit from the Barracks, the one where she saw the men from before head through when they left the hall.

Once Meilin was out of the barracks, having waited patiently for her to do so after Karma had a quick word with her, Kyoi's gaze followed the remaining genin heading for a different door and she began to stand up. "We can wait for you to take care of that something and all go as a group, Minami-san." She quite loudly spoke up, intending to catch her attention before she left. "It's better to all arrive together to ensure everyone is present, otherwise Meilin might show up at the market and ask where you went and we wouldn't be able to answer."

Hearing Kyoi's call just before she left the dining hall, Karma slowed her pace until she came to a complete stop. What was she doing? Consistently looking at Meilin like she was going to run away again, like in the previous mission. Has that sole action just tainted her thoughts of Meilin completely into setting her up as some kind of a rogue person who will not trust anyone else? But she did show her some trust before. She let her go with her to the Blackroot fortress hall. Moving to lean against the wall, she begun to think about it and then it hit her. She was constantly thinking about everything, trying to choose everything by logic without thinking about how this could reflect on the others. Probably for the worst. Looking back at the door, she wondered what kind of first impression she must've gave Kyoi, even if she didn't trust her. And Kensuke still might and come chase her down. Shaking her head, she went back. She already ditched her team in one mission, there was no reason to do it again, especially with the results the last time gave her.

Walking back inside the dining hall, Karma headed towards Kensuke, Sen and Kyoi "Sorry, tried to find the bathroom but I realized I didn't tell you. I shouldn't have left the room so abruptly, just a bit worried about Meilin too. It can be a lot of pressure leading a team in these kind of circumstances." She said in an apologetic smile.

With one eyebrow high on his forehead he observed Meilin and Karma leaving, and Karma returning a few moments later, after Kyoi spoke out. She apologised for her leaving with something that was obviously a lie and Kensuke shrugged in response. "Let's get going. If there's anything you still need, grab it now." He said and got up, watching Sen lift her backpack in silence. Despite the brief rest the girl looked worse than during the trip here. He had a pretty good idea of what was going through her head, and was debating sending her home. Being brave and fearless in action is one thing, when there was no time to hesitate, to think and to imagine the horror. But to have seen it, to think of it, to have your imagination spin it into frightening fantasies only to go face it again? That required real courage. Something not everyone seemed to have. Not everyone was made of such fibre. With those thoughts in his head he lifted his own backpack and headed towards the central marketplace. By the Gods, there even was a cabbage merchant as Meilin said.

Kyoi gave a warm smile to Karma when she re-entered the room. "Well when nature calls it is best to answer it before you leave, and I can somewhat see why you would worry about Meilin, she seems to like doing things on her own if recent events in here are accurate to her personality." Once they were all ready Kyoi lead them to the marketplace, nonchalantly pointing out the places that sold good produce, ales and clothing as they passed by the various stalls and stores. Upon arrival she looked to the team and gave another of her frequent smiles. "Now we play the waiting game to see how long she takes."

It'd been about ten minutes when Kensuke stopped counting. "Kyoi. Find Meilin with your Byakugan for me please." He said on a casual tone betraying nothing of what went on in his head.

Kyoi hadn't been counting the minutes to see how long Meilin would take, but she'd had a bad feeling that judging from how long it seemed to be taking, Meilin wasn't going to show up. Kensuke's instruction to use her Byakugan to try and find Meilin was met with a nod as she activated her vision... There were a lot of people in the area so it was hard to really pick anything out from the crowds, and there were a lot of chakra signatures she didn't recognise, meaning any of them could be Meilin. "Ugh... If she's in the area I can't pick her out from the crowd, too many unidentified chakra signatures for me to get any decent idea on where she headed. We may need to go look for her ourselves."

Kensuke let out a frustrated grunt and nodded at the team. "Just a moment." He said, and picked out a taller building nearby, quickly scaling it so he had an elevated position from which he could survey the town and its exits. With liberal use of the igurai, his pupils dilating like a bird of prey, he scanned the town, scouring it for any armed group of men rallying or leaving, and any trace of Meilin. He noticed large companies manning the walls as in every town they'd visited in this area so far. There were several strong patrols inside the town itself as well as outside, although none of them also had a young girl in mail armour with them. Inside the town troops were rallying in front of several larger buildings, but once again there was no sign of Meilin amongst the men there either. After a couple of minutes he felt a leaden weight settle in his stomach. No sign. He made handsigns for a single shadow clone and began climbing down. The clone remained standing on the roof, gazing over the city like a hawk as he climbed down. It appeared that they'd have to trust Meilin. Even if that meant she'd abandoned them, he hoped this'd taught her at least one thing. Take care if the team. Once back down he dusted off his knees and shrugged. "I suppose we should wait."

Ten minutes passed. Then twenty. A group of mounted riders left the city, none of them even resembling Meilin. Another ten minutes.

When an hour had gone by Kensuke got up abruptly with a deep frown creased on his forehead. He took a deep breath and exhaled. "So." Was all he said, and whirled towards the rest of the team. "Let's go back to the barracks." He said on a venomous tone, leaving nothing of his mood to their imagination.

Mika Hayashi.
Jounin-sensei of Team 14 | Republic of the Water Country | Kirigakure, training field #5.

Time had passed without any new event. No movement or action from the insurgents that proclaimed that they would resurrect the Suzu clan. It held the city and the valley in which Kirigakure was located in an iron grip of tension and growing unrest. Mika had remained waiting, patient and cautious. The murder of Hiro Akiyama in public was enough to assume that the insurgents would love to get their hands on her. Meaning that she had to be even more on her guard than she already had been. That meant more than just to cover her face and features behind a scarf and hood. Yet, Mika had received information that she would get another student. Shin had been replaced with a fresh genin as Shin would be transferred to another unit, operating in the Honey Country - a vassal state of the Republic. A development that Mika wasn't really content with but she understood that there was some need for more troops - even some rookies in this case - in the east with the trouble there on the rise.

Now she had to wait for when the three genin on her team would arrive. Hopefully, both Aya and Taishiro had made use of the interval between missions and training to rest out and ready themselves for what soon would come. Then there was, of course, the newest member of the team. A genin that went by the name of Hiro. As she had studied Hiro's profile, she didn't think or consider anything yet. The statements and notes at his profile weren't hers and while it provided some insight, Mika figured it would be best to just see how this meeting would go. With any luck, she could even throw in a small test to see how it would go down and no accidents would occur.

That, however, required the presence of the three genin. While waiting, Mika did wonder about something. She hadn't seen or heard anything from a certain genin. Perhaps Takeshi kept Haruhi busy? Perhaps she should check it up with Takeshi sooner or later. Realising that she was missing the rowdy and rather noisy genin, Mika released a sigh. She even wished now that the three genins would arrive so that she could put her mind off on something else.

Taishiro Kanai | Team 14 Genin | Kirigakure

He hadn't gotten to meet with the doctor about yesterday's events. The moment Taishiro had gotten out of bed, he had received word about the training with Hayashi-Sensei. The boy frowned slightly as he ran his fingers through his hair, Taishiro stared at himself in the mirror. "I look like crap." he muttered softly, sighing to himself. He's barely slept over the night, trying to understand what had happened the day before. He could've sworn that what he experienced was real, yet the evidence all pointed to it having just been a dream. The boy splashed some water on his face before turning to head out. After a final pause to make sure he had all the equipment he needed, Taishiro sighed as he made his way out the door.

Weaving his way through the streets, Taishiro eventually wound up at the designated training field. It took him a few more moments before he noticed the woman standing nearby. Making his way over, Taishiro gave a polite bow before speaking up. "Hello, Hayashi-Sensei. Am I the first to arrive?" The boy hoping that he didn't look as bad as he felt. After giving his greeting, he looked around and didn't see anybody else present, so he figured he was first to arrive. He quietly wondered to himself what their training today would entail as he waited for the others to show up.[/hr][/fieldbox]

"First Day Jitters"

Matsui, Hisahiro | Team 14 Genin | Kirigakure

Today was his big day! He was going to meet his jounin-sensei, and he knew he needed to make a good impression. He woke up at dawn and did all his warm-ups. He went through all the academy jutsu one more time for good measure, he went through all the motions with his sword, and he went through the hardest katas that he knew a couple of times.

After breakfasting and showering, he decided that the first day with a new sensei called for something special. He went through his stuff and dug it out. A shirt! When he looked in the mirror, he was disappointed with how anonymous he looked. The only element of himself he recognized was the big sword on his back, but after a while he decided this look would do. He looked like a ninja.

He was so excited for his first day that he ran all the way to the training field. He was pleased to see that he did not appear to be the last one there, but then he remembered one of the things his dad always said. "If you are not early you are late." and he was the second genin there so he was not early.

"Sorry for being late sensei." he said with the most formal bow he could perform "Matsui, Hisahiro reporting for duty. I hope you will be lenient with me. Its my first day on the team."

He noticed that the others seemed so much cooler than him. Of course sensei was cool, but this other genin was way more relaxed than Hiro felt. Maybe the academy principal had been messing with him when principal-sama said that a big sword like Hiro's was ok (Principal-sama did like to joke around), after all everyone else seemed to have ninja-to. This was looking to be a rough first day.

A collab between Aliceee, Glitchybugger, Nim and Roran Hawkins
Pinedale, Oakrath.

After being abandoned by their current team leader, Kensuke, Kyoi, Sen and Karma go to speak to one of the people in charge. The meeting goes poorly for all except one.

Arriving at the barracks again Kensuke put down his pack and threw a hopeless glance at the table they'd been sitting at earlier. "Kyoi. You've been here for a while. Who was your contact or superior here? Bring me to the guy in charge of this place." He said. With Meilin gone, they'd have to piece their own way towards their goal. There was to be a big fight here around Pinedale should the 'Uchiha' and the zealots combine forces according to Gunnvor. Meilin, who'd previously usurped leadership over the team, aided by her achievements of befriending the locals by speaking their language and knowing their customs, was gone. It hurt him more than he let on in his anger, because it was the third time a shinobi under his command went rogue. Fourth time if they'd count Karma. He'd given her a second chance and it'd looked like things were improving. He'd genuinely thought they'd come to a solution from this point, but alas. All wishful thinking. He was quite the leader alright. He felt powerless as a leader to stop her, powerless as a shinobi to track her, and powerless as a person to stop her whimsical betrayal. And yet he still understood why she did it. After all, he'd blackmailed the hokage once to get what he wanted. All he hoped was that she'd get what she wanted from this, because the odds of her receiving a third chance didn't exist. "Once we figure out what's going on exactly we'll head over to the most likely rallying point. Like hell we're going home now - there's a fight to be had."

This turnout wasn't pleasing for any of the team, Kyoi was sure of that much seeing as Meilin had run off without them for whatever reason she felt was best, but upon re-entry to the barracks Kyoi sat down at the table for a moment before Kensuke questioned her on her superior in the city. "Oh, that would be commander Frode, he operates for Ragnhild Sarutobi, one of the council members. He should still be around here for now." The Hyuuga was quickly back up on her feet after speaking and gestured with a wave for Kensuke to follow. "I have a feeling you anticipated she would do this." She commented as she lead him to the briefing room that she typically met Frode in during the time she had been in Oakrath and knock on the door. "Commander Frode, are you present? It's Kyoi Hyuuga and it's urgent."

"Oh?"

The masculine voice resonated from their rear as a man would approach them, a frown visible on his brow. A trimmed beard and short hair were of brownchestnut colour, yet a few grey hairs together with the present wrinkles on the man's features did say something about his age. Eyeing for a moment the others, Frode's attention would shift back on Kyoi. "Brought friends with you, huh?" He asked in a casual manner, hooking his thumbs behind his belt. There was quite some activity around them as people seemed to ready themselves, gearing and arming themselves from the nearby armoury.

"Only for today, yes, a special treat for you, sir." Kyoi chimed in response to Frode's small talk with a smile, bowing her head slightly in greeting. "I would already be out in the field with this team here but the one who was in charge of the team this time around has gone off on her own agenda regarding the zealots and their movements, it would be best for their Jounin, Kensuke, to explain the problem as he asked me to bring him to you. There seems to be a lot happening so we'll try to take as little of your time as possible." Kyoi turned her head towards Kensuke and gestured for him to take the front.

"Long story short, we're here to aid in the upcoming campaign against the zealots, but our teammeber responsible for communication with your men has left us in a quarrel." He said, giving the man a respectful bow of the head. "Essentially you have a couple of shinobi looking to do some work." Kensuke added. "So, what's going on, and how can we help?"

The man listened to what the two told him. He seemed rather okay with hearing the news, still upholding a casual expression and stance. Waiting for a moment when they were done, the man briefly rubbed his neck before he gave a reply back. "So, let me get this straight. You," he pointed at Kensuke, "Are in charge of a team but a member went off on her own. Now you guys are asking me to provide you with some work?" It wasn't really a question but more that Frode was thinking out loud. Sighing and softly grumbling the man threw a look at the armoury before turning his attention back on the team. "Right now, I am not certain how much I am allowed to spill. Might sound a bit crude, son, but I have not received any notion of you and your team going to help or accompany me. Would appreciate all the help but I don't know any of you. I only know that she," pointing at Kyoi, Frode continued on, "Was send here to aid any send teams that would be active in the area. My task is only to act as a sort of medium and perhaps give a mission or what not. What is going on, is something that I have no real saying in. You have to speak somebody of a higher authority than me for that."

Kensuke nodded in response. "Pretty much exactly what's going on." He replied and then rubbed his chin when Frode explained that he was limited in his options. "Well, I can present you our identification if it's any help. We were on a mission in the Cursed Woods over the past week, and were sent here by Gunnvor to help out with the Uchiha-zealot problem. If you can't help us, maybe you could direct us to someone who might be able to?"

"Blackroot Vale, huh?" Frode seemed slight surprised upon hearing that they had been there for the past week but soon enough the surprised expression faded, making place for the casual expression that seemed plastered on the man's features. "Your identifications would help but that still doesn't mean I can do anything else but to give small tasks out to you, son. If you wish to do something with what is going on now," the commander raised his left hand and pointed with his thumb towards a direction. "You have to request Lady Oakrath for that matter. She could arrange something. Though I doubt that you will be allowed to just see her without arranging an audiance." The commander would scratch his cheek for a moment, waiting to see if they had anything else to ask from him.

Kensuke nodded in understanding before he responded. "And I don't suppose you could get us to talk to her, or to someone who deals with these things for or with her?" Kensuke asked hopefully. "Or to someone who could? The only alternative is returning to Konoha at this point, and that's just a waste of manpower if you ask me." Kensuke continued on a respectful tone.

Frode rubbed his bearded chin for a second, eyeing the team. "I could see if Lady Oakrath has a moment to spare. Can't promise anything, though," the last being added with a mild warning tone, in order to not get their hopes up. Whistling hard, Frode would attract the attention of a few. Pointing to one of the men, he would beckon the soldier to come nearby. Saying something in Chonobi, the soldier would nod and run off. "Guess it is now just waiting to see if Lady Oakrath has some time. Though," frowning the man didn't hide that he was slightly confused, "Mind explaining on how you could let off the member that was responsible for communications? Not to mention, why do you... Oh wait," a chuckle escaped the man as he shook his head lightly. "Blackroots. Still, mind explaining it to me?"

Kensuke sniffed and shrugged. "Thanks. Well, she knew the locals better than we did, including your language, hence her doing most of the talking. But it seems she liked the locals better than she liked us." He said. "At least, that's the short version. She lost her family to the zealots. Abducted. Working with the Blackroots rather than us gave her better odds to try and find her folks, but we didn't think she'd go as far as to leave us behind to get there." He added, shaking his head in disbelief.

The man just nodded. The casual expression made it hard for many of the team to notice what he thought or considered by hearing the answer of Kensuke. "I see. Must be that person who went earlier to Lady Oakrath and... I don't remember who the other two were but important people, no doubt," the last few words spoken with an amused sarcastic tone. "Well," Frode turned to throw a look into the direction where the soldier of before had ran off to, "Am hoping that you will get an answer soon. I have quite a lot on my plate. And I rather not be scolded for just standing around." Just as the man that said, the soldier of before would appear, jogging from around the corner. Approaching them, the soldier said something to Frode in Chonobi, who replied back in Chonobi. Turning to Kensuke and his team, Frode's eyebrows would raise, again, slightly. "Seems you're having some luck, son. Normally Lady Oakrath doesn't prefer meetings with strangers on such a short note. Follow me," the commander said as he would lead the team towards the manor. It wasn't that far walking but it took a bit of time before they would enter the large complex. Once inside Frode would instruct them to wait as he would advance. Only a few minutes later he would come back with a person that appeared to be more of a servant. Explaining that he was off to take care of his own duties the team would be guided by the servant further into the manor. Brought into a large room, they would be able to notice a woman with blonde, braided hair, speaking with a few other people around a round table. Once the team was led inside and being noticed the woman with the blonde, braided hair would dismiss the group around the round table. Turning to the few, the woman flashed a smile.

"The people that Frode spoke me off? I assume that you're the team of Meilin? Surprised to see you here. Thought that you would go with Amund," the woman said, before she would continue, "In case you weren't informed, my name is Ragnhild Sarutobi. One of the members of Pinedale's council."

Straight to the lady of Oakrath? That was rather quick, but Kensuke was not in the mood to question how the Sarutobi here dealt with visitors. He thanked the soldier when he left and followed the servant towards what looked most like a meeting room. Where a meeting seemed to have ended with their arrival. He watched the men go and then turned on the woman who introduced herself as Lady Ragnhild Sarutobi. The name sounded weird in his head. He still hadn't gotten used to the foreign-sounding names of these parts. He respectfully bowed his head after her introduction and spread his arms. "An honour to meet you lady Ragnhild! It seems you have the advantage over us! We are indeed Meilin's team - minus Meilin that is. I am Nimatsu Kensuke, leader of Konohagakure Team 7. This is Cho Sen, Minami Karma and Hyuuga Kyoi." He introduced the team to her. "Amund? I'm sorry, I don't think we've met anyone with that name, and if we did, he certainly didn't tell us his name. Either way, we haven't seen Meilin since we arrived here and she went to visit you or your representatives. Knowing that you undoubtedly understand our position. We have reason to believe she left us and went with this Amund all by herself." Kensuke explained to the woman.

"The honour is mine, but thank you," the woman replied back at first. She listened to Kensuke, nodding towards the team he introducted to her. Planting her fists on her hips, Ragnhild slightly frowned. "Is that so? Okay." Thinking about the situation for a moment, the woman spoke up again. "The thing is that I came to understand that she was leading a team of her own. So I hope you don't mind that I am rather confused on what is the real situation right now. If you are her team and she left you behind, there might be a good reason for it. If you, however, are the team leader then I wonder how it came to be that she was send to represent the situation once more to me and two other council members." The woman shot a look at the others before placing her attention back on Kensuke.

He titled his head as if acknowledging a hit in a training fight. "I'll admit that much, the situation got pretty complicated. Given that she is a Cho she was far better suited to communicate with the Blackroot than any of us were, so she ended up in their trust long before any of us got close. When she was invited to join the fight against the zealots she got Knvell's support to 'lead' our team along. Something she took very literally. Threatening to have Kvnell send us back to Konoha or accepting her leadership - well, we had little choice. A mission's a mission after all. She's been acting as leader eversince, and didn't do too badly in fact. Eventually we ended up here with Gunnvor's reinforcements, but it seems that she's made true on her original threats anyways and ditched us. Couldn't tell you why though."

Listening to Kensuke's answer, Ragnhild frowned but remained silent until he was done. "But she," the gaze of Ragnhild went to Sen for a moment before moving back on Kensuke, "Is also a Cho." It was a statement that made it clear that the woman found the situation rather disappointing, or so it she made it sound like with the tone of her voice. "And can't blame her if I hear this version. If you allowed her to take the leadership, regardless of it is a mission or not, then you need to bear the results of your decision. Anyways, talking about this is rather trivial. Right now you are requesting to participate but I am not so sure if I desire that." The woman gestured to the round table where she had been interacting with others before the team had arrived. "The plans have been made and perhaps aid me in remembering, but if you are Kensuke Nimatsu, then you are the murderer of Katsuro Hon. Regardless of how it transpired or why, you took his life according to what we have heard quite some time ago. And that is where things are growing... complicated."

Pausing to let her words sink in, Ragnhild continued. "The Hon House of Rachon will aid us in the coming fight. I have no doubt that they will make it in time, perhaps even before a force here has assembled and ready to head out towards the location where the threat of those... Zealots, are going. If I would allow myself to accept your aid, I am not certain if that will be appreciated by the Hons of Rachon. It might be something that they will ignore but it could also impact Pinedale's relation with them. Something I as one of the leading councilmembers must be cautious about. It is not that I aim or desire to shame or exclude you from a fight but," the woman would raise her chin slightly, "I am responsible for my people. Something that I hope you will understand. So, I can't take a decision right now without speaking with some of my advisors. In fact," Ragnhild pondered for a moment. "It might be beneficial to have the empress court be informed of what is happening or will happen soon here. I am confused on what the Uchiha are doing so far from their own clan lands but it does raise some concern. Regardless if they are truly Uchiha or not, it is something that I can't ignore..."

Turning around, the woman paced for a moment before speaking up again. "This Meilin made quite a good plan and I already agreed with some others to execute it. The only thing that I can perhaps arrange is a meeting but," Ragnhild tone shifted from being polite to stern, "If you're being told that this isn't your fight. That you were ordered to remain here at Oakrath, then I expect that you will abide such an order. Regardless of why and how, you allowed this Cho, Meilin, to take the leadership. I am not familiar with the Nimatsu way and mannerism, but I hope you do realise that it is clearly your own fault to bear?"

He wanted to like Ragnhild for being honest and responsible and nice, but he couldn't. The woman held him to blame for a situation which she knew too little about to judge properly, and he for the so-manieth time he saw insults and hidden pins aiming to undermine his position where they mightn't have been at all. His sister's influence, no doubt, who could read those in a person's speach and language and use them against them. Unfortunately, he wasn't a diplomat like her. Or maybe it was fortunate. He allowed himself a moment to formulate a response and then bowed his head. "If you feel my reputation would endanger your efforts then there would be no choice for me but to remain here." He replied on a neutral tone. He had killed Katsuro Hon. Katsuro Hon had killed a generation of his friends and family. Such was the past. His gaze then shifted towards Sen.

"Sen has grown up outside of the Cho clan, and is not as well-versed in chonobi as Meilin was." Kensuke rolled his shoulders as if deflecting her argument. Then his eyes narrowed. "I am well aware of what the consequences of my actions are, and I do not need your judgement nor implications to do so. That is not the reason why we forced our way through your administration to meet with you. We are here to offer our help, as we were instructed to." He said, and then allowed his pose to relax. "Whatever your decision, know that Meilin communicated to us that you would have us wait in the marketplace for the men to be gathered. I assume by now that you said nothing of the sorts and that she is long gone on the actual mission."

The woman briefly shot another look at Sen, frowning upon hearing this news. She would keep her opinion regarding this fact, however, for herself. Turning her attention back at Kensuke, Ragnhild would reply back. "Might I ask, though, who instructed you to help? I have received nor heard of any news of help. Only that some shinobi operatives would be positioned over the region and the neighbouring regions," the woman said, the frown on her brow not fading. "As it stands right now, I can only see if there isn't a possible meeting possible with those who will lead the imminent fight but if Meilin decided to go with you, then you need to consider what is more productive. Either placing effort in trying to contact her and I will offer some aid in that or staying around. Am certain that you can find some lodging in the barracks. Else, I am certain that you can find your way back to the capital. There are enough traders who travel in that direction. Around Blackroot Vale."

Kyoi quietly listened to the conversation between Ragnhild and Kensuke, keeping a fairly neutral expression the entire time, the impression she'd gotten of her so far wasn't great, but there was a lot to deal with at the moment so she couldn't really hold that opinion over this issue. Admittedly she was surprised to hear that Kensuke had murdered one of the Hon and that his presence wouldn't be welcomed by the allied Hon house in the region that was coming to help. "I feel like the options given leaves but one choice, Lady Sarutobi, Kensuke. Meilin lead the team and I astray with the notion that she would return but never came to see us, as you now know, with no furher instruction and so she has essentially discarded her position as team leader to fulfill her own agenda. That is her failure as a leader and not Kensuke's, the only mistake we made was to trust her." Kyoi paused briefly, intending to judge the expressions of both Kensuke and Ragnhild before she continued.

"With her gone as leader it is Kensuke's responsibility as the actual squad leader to retake command and correctly punish Meilin for her behaviour. Acting independently of your team without permission, let alone abandoning them without explanation, isn't something that should be tolerated by the team Leader nor by those whom are working with a shinobi that has potentially gone rogue, admittedly you had not known her intentions so it's not your fault that this happened. If we are to return to Konoha, I would be reporting Meilin as a rogue based on her current actions. Whilst I can't speak for Kensuke on this sort of issue, I treat these things quite seriously and I don't want to have to make such a report on the girl without knowing why, but her actions would be forcing my hand in the matter." She paused for a breath and immediately continued. "So our only option is to reign her in. It would be nice to just sit within the city walls and relax, of course, but if this good plan of hers backfires and she puts herself in peril then we would have no way to ensure her safety. If you are able to help us get into contact with her then I at least would appreciate it. What do you think Kensuke?"

When Kyoi spoke first up, Ragnhild looked at the Hyuuga. There wasn't any shift in the woman's expression as she listened. However, as Kyoi continued, there was a clear expression that made it clear that Ragnhild either didn't agree or was growing anything but happy with Kyoi's words. Yet, she would wait patiently for the Hyuuga to be done before she would speak up. In a cold tone, fitting to the low temperature of the current season. "You lot have one day to leave. And I assure you best leave the region before the Woodland Ravens will make you up in the cells," with a sliver of disgust visible the woman shook her head. "I don't care for what happened in your team or what your opinions are. I have little to nothing to do with you lot, Hyuuga. Together with the fact that you basically want to punish the person who actually is trying to aid us in this threat, for leaving you guys behind? Dear ancestors, I would do the same thing right now. In fact," whistling hard, there would be audible sounds of boots marching. Entering the room would be a squadron of guards. "Lord Hon will hear of this, be assured. Now, leave before I will need to have you arrested. And before any of you get a funny idea," the eyes of Ragnhild narrowed, "You would be quite mistaken if you think that you're the only ones in this room who practise and use ninjutsu. So, I would just take the road and start heading before I will kick you all into a cell myself."

"Lady Sarutobi, please, they intend to try and help against the zealots and the supposed Uchiha presence but they can't do that if Meilin has left them in the dark to do whatever it is she's doing, what I have said that brought your ire should only lay with me, the others should not be blamed for my own words and actions and I can leave to return to Konoha immediately, if you could at least not punish them for my wrong doing then I would be grateful a thousand times over." Kyoi pleaded, looking quite shocked at the venemous response from the woman before her.

"As is the person who you just suggested as a traitor. Odd enough, I have no word of receiving help against zealots. That and the fact that I already have agreed to one plan and wish to pursue it, not to mention that this person was favoured by Knvell Blackroot himself, means that we are done. Now, I suggest you all go before I will put actions to words," on the last sentence the group would hear the soft sound of steel being slided out of scabbards. The guards would step aside to allow the group to take their leave but were clear on the ready to aid Raghhild the moment that any of them would make a move that wouldn't be appreciated. Some of them already nocked an arrow against the bowstring of their bows, aiming at the team and Kyoi.

Kyoi sighed in resignation and turned to leave. "You have my deepest apologies, I will be leaving then." Whom she was apologizing to was ambiguous, but likely both to Ragnhild and to the team, disheartened to say the least.

Throughout the meeting, Karma remained silent. Not because she had nothing to say, but because she felt slightly betrayed. Meilin did ditch them after all. And while Kensuke had spoke in a rather okay manner, not upsetting Lady Sarutobi as he had done before when speaking to the Yamanaka advisor of Lord Blackroot. When Kyoi begun to speak, she turned to look at her with unbelieving eyes. Kyoi was doing a very similair mistake to the one she has done. Putting the blame on others without actually knowing them, while only digging herself a very deep hole, and dragging the rest of them into it. When she saw some of the guards setting up their bows and aiming straight at them, she figured this felt similair, although here they were given a choice to leave. There was no escape from Zakito's piercing gaze.

But what kind of person would she be if she left without speaking a single word? Lady Blackroot only heard two speak, and neither spoke to Knvell Blackroot in a dining hall, toasting with him. Taking a deep breath, she turned to look in Lady Sarutobi's direction "When I met Lord Blackroot in the dining hall, alongside Meilin, he did something I did not believe he would do. He spoke in common tongue without anyone asking him to, making me feel incredibly honoured. He said they respect their guests and try to understand them. I have heard more than enough here to know you have done the same in our case, and from what have been said, I am certain the same was done in Meilin's case. Unlike Kensuke and Kyoi here, I am not asking for you to lead us to Meilin, as it is more than clear that you will not do so. I have one humble request from you, Lady Sarutobi" She said, and moved to kneel in front of Ragnhild.

"Please, try and ensure that Meilin Cho, my teammate, the one who formulated the plan, comes back safe. I fear that despite the respect she has gathered with both your men and Lord Blackroot's, her sight may be too clouded by thoughts of revenge at those who kidnapped her family, murdered her mother. I just want to be certain that today won't be the last day I see my teammate." She said and then looked up at Lady Sarutobi, hoping that she understands this request comes from geniune concern.

Kensuke's face hardened. It was a world turned upside down. He remember his sister's venomous, ice-cold words about his role in the humiliating process of integration in the Akinian Empire, where their customs, treaties, agreements and values all became subservient to a mighty empire in which they had little option but to agree. Yet these people found value in what according to Imperial law for shinobi was absolute betrayal. Not that he valued the law that much, but it stung in a way that made him feel resentful about ever trying to play nice at Imperial meetings. One by one these Blackroot and Sarutobi leaders seemed to consider it great honours that they received them in person in their language. To a pragmatically-minded shinobi who'd seen more death than diplomacy that made no sense. What sense would it make to talk to him in their local language? He was an Imperial shinobi after all. They too were part of the bloody empire. Their safety - just like his own - came with sacrifices. The thought brought outrage and disgust. But he mastered himself as if this was a fight, and not a meeting. In his anger he found an old mask he had worn earlier, and it seemed to fit so well is frightened Kensuke.

"If you choose to deny aid offered in earnest from the Imperial city of Konoha, then that is your choice, and we shall respect that. We shall head back to the capital to report on our mission and our findings here, and I hope that you can live with the consequences of your choices as much as you liked telling me to." He said without a sliver of his emotions in his voice, so neutral it sounded flat. Then he glanced at the soldiers and shook his head. "This is unnecessary. The real enemy is out there." He said, and turned around and went for the door, ignoring any response. He was done here.

Ragnhild would just nod towards Kyoi, expecting the others to take their leave as well. She wondered how much times she had to state that they were done here. As Karma spoke up, the woman showed that she was tired of this by releasing a soft but audible sigh. However, something in Karma's words made the woman frown once more. "You, stay." She said, though it sounded more like an order. With Kensuke speaking up, Ragnhild's patience was really down to a low. "Yes, I am fairly certain that I will be able to grow old with it. Now, you know where the door is. Or else I can have you be 'guided' out of it." The woman stated, readying her hand to snap her fingers if they would seriously consider to exchange more words of either making amends or trying to state their mind in a flowered manner.

Hearing Ragnhild tell her to stay made her eyes widen slightly. The way she said it made it clear it was more of an order than a request, and after the way Kyoi and Kensuke spoke to her, she was not about to start defying her in any way. Nodding, she watched as Kensuke went to the door and left, Sen following quickly in his footsteps. Turning back to look at Lady Sarutobi, Karma wondered briefly if she should inquire on why she was ordered to stay, but decided to remain quiet, as at the same time she felt like Lady Sarutobi most likely had enough of people speaking out of place for a while.

Waiting for Kyoi and Kensuke to take their leave, Ragnhild would gesture to her guards that they could also take it somewhat easier and leave her alone with Karma. Releasing a sigh, Ragnhild's tone was no longer cold but more tired by the sound of it. "You said something about Lord Blackroot? I would like to hear more about this... honour, that Lord Blackroot gave you. But," the sharp tone returned with the phrasing of the last word, "I hope that I am clear when I say that I don't want to hear anything else but what transpired or what Lord Blackroot said or did."

Listening to Ragnhild's words, Karma nodded. Just details about that time, not more or less. Remaining on her knees, Karma took a brief moment to properly recall what she considered one of the more enjoyable moments she had in some time "Meilin and I approached Lord Blackroot at the dining hall, and Meilin spoke to him in Chonobi. He replied in common tongue and requested that the both of us sit down and have a drink of him, while stating he heard about Meilin's former request to join them in their endevours to get rid of local pests. I thanked him for speaking in common tongue and Meilin confirmed his suspicions, and afterwards he told me that they respect their guests and try to understand them. He then once more told us to sit and drink with him, which the both of us did. I decided to suggest a toast in honor of the Blackroots and the work they perform, which he appeared to accept as soon after I heard the entire hall shout something in Chonobi and cheer. He then gave us a chance to join his troop that were going to investigate unknown activities, and told us it was our choice if we wish for Kensuke and Sen, who were being inspected by his seer, to join us. I decided to give Meilin the choice, as it was her who felt like going to the dining hall was the right move, and it felt right to me, as I trust her. Lord Blackroot than procceeded to begin telling us that they have they have a custom of sharing stories, which he begun with a very interesting story about catching his companion boar." As she finished speaking in a calm manner, she held herself from giggling in front of Lady Sarutobi at that story he told them. It still seemed very amusing to her.

Though her patience wasn't still restored from the previous exchanges Ragnhild listened to Karma. She did gesture midway that Karma should get up from her knees, yet not interrupt the other in any other manner. "I see," the woman would start to pace as she pondered on what she had just learned. Sighing as she would rub her forehead, Ragnhild would turn towards Karma. "I don't like going back on my words. This whole mess already puts me on edge and than whatever that just was didn't make it better. However," she continued, her tone slightly shifting, "I guess I will allow you to fullfill your own request. I need to send out a messenger anyways to head towards a few places alongside Dalir. The city that is westwards, where the threat of those Zealots and Uchiha are heading."

Standing up, Karma watched patiently as Ragnhild paced for a few moments before turning to her again, explaining her side, but then telling her that she will allow her to fulfill her own request by serving as a messenger to a few places, alongside Dalir, which was apparently to the west and the direction of the threat "Thank you for this, Lady Sarutobi. I will head out as soon as I recieve full instructions on the message delivery." She said, giving Ragnhild a bow of gratitude.

"Seeing you already met Frode, I will place you in his care. I have other urgent matters to attend to now," Ragnhild stated, marking thus the end of the talk.

Nodding, Karma turned around and walked to the door. Once she was outside, she turned to look at Frode "Lady Sarutobi told me I would be under your care now." She said in a polite manner to him.

The commander had been waiting outside the room, leaning against a nearby wall. The man looked as before, casual. As if the entire situation wasn't really bothering or affecting him in any manner. When Karma went out of the room, the man would press his back from the wall and was making a clear attempt to now head towards the room where Ragnhild had received Kensuke's team. Surprised Frode looked at Karma when she stated that she was under his care now. Scratching the back of his head for a moment, Frode would reply a second later back. "You are? Huh, guess that I should tell my wife that we now have a daughter." The man said, blinking twice with his eyes rapidly before revealing a grin. "Just joking. But alright, euhm," frowning again, he placed his hands on his hips. "Did she by any chance say why you're under my care?"

Smiling at the remark Frode make, Karma nodded "She gave me an order. I need to deliver a message to several places alongside Dalir." She responsed in a calm manner with the smile going away pretty quickly. Just because they can joke once or twice did not mean they were suddenly best buddies "She told me Dalir is to the west, but didn't specify any further than that." She added.

Frode once more rubbed his neck as he heard what Ragnhild had given as mission. "There are a few villages between Oakrath and Dalir. Already send some riders to spread the word that a threat is coming, in order to make certain to avoid good folk get killed or taken captive. I will give you a map later. The only thing that is bothering me is that I nor Lady Oakrath being responsible for your life. I am fine if you want to help with delivering a message but once that is done, you're needed to stay away from the area. Rather not have the First Major General deciding to question me for not being in line with some protocols."

As he spoke, Karma thought about this briefly "One of the reasons Lady Sarutobi gave me this order is so I could go ensure my teammate, Meilin, gets back from the battlefield safely. Once I finish delivering the message to the places you tell me to send them to, I will do just that. But if I see that I am getting in the way of others by doing so, I will immediately turn back and head to somewhere else, but I won't leave these lands until I know for certain that she is safe, following the battle." She said, and gave him a firm look "But, if throughout this time I will recieve specific orders from any of the leaders of these lands, then I will do so, with the request that I gave to Lady Sarutobi still standing. Ensure Meilin comes out of this battle alive, if possible." Once she finished talking about this matter, she looked down "I apologize for the way I just spoke to you. It was unrespectful, considering Lady Sarutobi and you are letting me perform such important actions when I am still a stranger. I just worry about my teammate, she has been acting in a very distant and rather fixated manner since the Zealots took away her family." She added and gave bowed her head towards Frode.

Shaking his head, Frode spoke up again. "No. I will also speak with Ragnhild regarding this. This is essentially our fight. You weren't send here to aid us. In official terms, you shouldn't be here. As soon as your objective is done then that means you need to report back. And judging from what I am getting so far is that none of you have done so far. Else we would have been more than aware of your or who ever's team it is to be aiding us or nearby. So, no. I will not risk your life to remain in danger. I am even not agreeing with that other girl being in the fray if she hasn't been enlisted to aid us. Even if she a Chonobi," the man said, this time a stern tone going through his voice as he replied back. "While I understand your desires, I am not having it. You can go back to where you and the others were. I will be back soon and will provide you a map and arrange a mount."

What Frode said, and the tone he said it in made it very clear that even if Lady Sarutobi had mentioned she will allow her to fulfill her own request, he does not approve nor will allow her to do so, and seeing how she was under his care now, Karma nodded "Very well. I am under your care now, after all, so I will only perform the message delivery task as instructed, head back here to return the mount and inform you of the successful message delivery before beginning my travel back towards the capital." She said in a slightly quick manner, to ensure she won't take any more of his time than stating that, and then begun heading back to where they previously waited, being the table in the barracks dining hall.

The waiting was the worst. Knowing beforehand that it wasn't easy to get a meeting with one of the higher-ups without an appointment. Certainly not in the times they were living in. Excitement, tension and the occasional threats of insurgents tended to make make the dreadful waiting line of bureaucracy to become worse than normal. But she was patient. Waiting while she had stated she would need to see Eiji Emiya because of some serious information leaks, that one of the Tough Rats would want to see him. And only him. Though there was a new jounin commander, Etsu wasn't particularly fond of sharing information with more people. She wasn't already fond of the decisions she was making but this wasn't something she could fix or handle herself. Her arms crossed out front of her chest she kept waiting.
Perhaps the good man was enjoying his lunch? Etsu kept pondering and wondering about various aspects and matters. Everything but what she would soon reveal and speak about. It dawned upon her that since a long time she was feeling nervous. As if she had done something very bad and had to see one of the head teachers at the Academy.

A chuckle would escape her lips just before she would be addressed by one of the clerks. At least, the young man looked like a clerk. With his pale skin, it seemed as if he had never enjoyed the warm touch of the sun. Or even went ever outside this large office complex. Following the man and bypassing various security Etsu scratched her left cheek. Once she was clear to approach the door she would knock on it, waiting again. Hopefully, this time she wouldn't have to wait for too long. Throwing a subtle glance over her shoulder she did realise that leaving in all of a sudden would seem very suspicious. Would they arrest her if she would attempt to leave?

She didn't have to wait long for a reply. Eiji had been working through reports - which honestly seemed like all he was doing these days - when the knock on his door woke him up from his concentrated state. He rubbed his eyes, shot an glance outside, decided he had already spend way too much time here, and sighed. The riots had calmed down but there were still a lot of people upset and hurt and without homes. There was so much to be done still, but someone had decided he had to be doing it from an office. That person might have been himself, but he wasn't sure if he liked it all too much. At least, he was sure he was making a difference somehow. But it felt small. Then again he knew that leadership was not about going out on the streets himself. He had to stand above that and keep the view. Yet, it was hard. And it were long work hours that kept him away from home and his team.

He sighed again, but nevertheless, he straightened, put his pen down and called out: "Enter!"

After hearing she could enter, Etsu wouldn't let the good man say it twice. Entering the office, the woman flashed a smile before showing proper respect with a bow, followed up with a resolute salute. "Good day, sir!" Etsu said, in a most cheerful manner. She wasn't actually what kind of title would be proper to address Eiji now. The assistant of a kage didn't really enjoy a specific title. Lord Assistant sounded, at least in Etsu's opinion, rather conflicting. Less imposing than Lord Commander or as impressive as Lord Amekage. Which the man was neither and yet he was the considered regent of the entire Rain province. The weight on his shoulders was probably quite heavy, Etsu figured. Then without a nice way to address him, it just couldn't be anymore tiring.
"I hope I am not disturbing you during some important work. Do you mind I stand? Makes it easier for me to think," the woman continued. She would have kept her mouth shut and wait for anything for him to signal that she could report in. Then again, this wasn't an ordinary situation and she rather kept herself in a position from where she could both attempt to defend herself or have more of a chance. Hopefully, it wouldn't come to a need for that.

"I suppose that we never really were properly introduced to each other. Or well, not even sure if you ever heard of the unit I am a member off," Etsu flashed an apologetic smile, "Not that the Tough Rats are quite as renowned or feared as the ANBU. I like to think that we are able to provide some good work and gain desired results. Even though we could use some more financial support or a recruit thrown into our direction more often. You wouldn't believe how tiresome it is to recruit people for a unit that is called 'Tough Rats'. Not really inviting, is it? But anyways, I will cut to the chase," the woman just kept talking, "I thought it would be appreciated to state that I might have abducted two members of the police corps and before you fret, I have also some proof that they are known and aware of the corrupt element in the corps. Not on paper or anything solid, but in here," Etsu planted her right index finger against her temple, a serious expression present on her face.
"Of course, I can't take direct action against the police corps. Or well, I technically could, but nothing legal. And before I am going to be the scapegoat and hanged for treason or worse I rather would have risked my neck with alarming somebody that seems allright, you know? I mean, you can't really count on my vote to become the next Amekage. That isn't how the system works, buuuuut I would have voted for you, hehehaa.... yeah... Getting chilly, isn't it?"

Eiji raised his eyebrows ever so slightly at the woman who came into his office and started... rambling. There was not really another word to describe it. He understood that perhaps standing before the current regent of the Rain Province might be intimidating or something, but by speaking faster it would not suddenly become clearer. He would have asked to sit down, but she was already stating that she didn't want to. And she kept talking. Eiji leaned back and let the words wash over him. Even though she stated that they were never properly introduced, she... never actually introduced herself properly. She mentioned that she was from some organisation called the Tough Rats. He might have heard some floating words about it, but had never delved into it, and now honestly didn't have the time. This woman, at least, seemed to care about this organisation.

And then she was done. Something about abducting two members of the police who, according to her and her alone, were corrupt. Eiji blinked again. "I would ask you to sit down, Miss..." he let the empty space after 'miss' float in the air for a moment, allowing her to fill it in for herself. "It makes it easier for me to understand what you are saying if you are sitting and speaking calmly, though I appreciate the 'vote' of confidence you have in me." He smiled lightly. "So, if I understand correctly, you kidnapped two members of the police corps and the only proof you have is in your head. Is there a way for me to 'see' this proof? I'd love to believe you on your word, but without proof there is only so much I can do, and so much I can instagate."

"Ake," Etsu would offer a small bow after her first answer, filling in the blank moment.
"And yes, that is it basically. Knew you would be a good listener! Some people told me, "Ake, you're going to be in a lot of trouble and he won't listen nor take you seriously!" But ahaaa! Seems you and I just prove them wrong, didn't we?" A smile dawned on Etsu's lips as she folded her hands in front of her stomach.
"I can't really make it into a visual form or share it. I sadly don't have such ability or know of such technique. I could, however, bring you the two men. But as you might already guess, people with my... profession don't part easily with sources of information. I was hoping we could perhaps make a deal?"

Right. Eiji smiled politely to the rambling woman. "Miss Ake." He mentally went over the dossiers he had read recently to see if he remembered her name. It was not like he was expected to remember the name of every Jounin under his command. That would be impossible, he was leading the entire city and thus the entire military, and entirely unnecessary. Her name didn't immediately pop up. "Please sit down." He had asked it before and was now requesting it. "If you can't share the information in your head visually, then you can share it by talking to me. Afterwards we can see about seeing the two men. Considering you are under my employment, I don't see the need to make a deal here. Shouldn't the fact that you are providing information to keep the city save be enough of a trade-off? Or would you say, you would purposefully withold information while standing before me? A decision that could cost you lives."

Etsu pondered quickly over her options. There was still in her mind that it was possible that Eiji was in league with the insurgents. Until she didn't know that for certain, she couldn't just hand over information. But she also was certain that she would need some help from a higher up. Chewing on the inside of her right cheek, Etsu would take a seat, sitting down.
"Very well," she said in a friendly tone. Etsu would then proceed to tell about her suspicion of a corrupt element being present in the police corps - with the release of Sho Deshuga and Kona Omari, regarding their acts which saw them being imprisoned. Then proceeding on how she had used some connections to find those who could be aware of the corrupt element within the police corps. And then how she had single-handed taken the police officers captive.

"Now, that is just the short version!" Etsu said in a cheerful fashion, done with talking after the few minutes in which she explained the entire story.
"I suppose that I can't say without lying that I would like to be the one responsible for the loss of lives. But I can't make any further action unless... a certain person would legalise certain actions against certain targets? Of course," the jounin flashed an apologetic smile, "Nobody will be seriously wounded or worse! I prefer to work without anybody dying. Sleeps better at night, you know?"

Eiji listened to Miss Ake's words with frowned eyebrows as he leaned his chin on his folded hands. Her points were valid. The released of the two young shinobi had been strange and there had definitely been a cover up. It was a serious accusation though and with only her word for it, it was difficult to take entirely serious. Especially since she was so hesitant to tell him everything. Somewhere he could understand her decision to hold information back. Just like he couldn't fully trust her word, she, surely, couldn't trust his and he couldn't exactly tell her to. Then again, she didn't have to be so cheerful about this. This was not a joking matter.

"Thank you for telling me," he replied. "Unfortunately I cannot just legalise... certain actions against certain targets without having sufficient proof. I do trust your words, but my trust honestly doesn't mean much. I wish it would. In a similar fashion I cannot go with you alone. I have faith that you are doing this because you have located a problem and wish to solve it, but I have a lot of responsibity within this city all of a sudden. What I can do however, is have two people go with you to verify your story. Preferably people we have both put trust in so both of us can rest assured that proof can be given. If your story is then confirmed, I can allow you those measures."

Etsu thought about the suggestion. That was actually quite good. For a moment she hoped, no almost desired, that Eiji wasn't in league with the insurgents. From the look and sounds, it was certain that he wasn't. Then again, deception was an art that she should be wary of. Else her training and prior experiences would have been for nothing.
"That sounds good," Etsu said, dropping more or less the facade of being cheerful. She doubted that she would need to continue that. It was a risk that she was taking but right now this was the only way she saw to do something about the corruption and insurgents.
"I suppose that we will then just suggest a person once we have given some thought about it?"

There it was. The serious tone. Eiji knew it had to be there. No one was this cheerful about this situation. "Then we have an accord," he said. He pushed his chair back and got up. Thinking he moved to one of the filing cabinets behind him. "I have someone in mind," he said as he pulled a file out of the drawer after he had pulled it open. He leafed through the file for a moment and pulled out one sheet. Then he walked back, sat down again, and handed her the piece of paper which had a picture on it and a couple of minor details. "I guess I'll hear about yours later."

[fieldbox=Towards Daril!, burlywood]
Pinedale, from Oakrath towards Dalir!
A collab between Alice and Oetje.

Summary:
Meilin meets up with Amund Sarutobi of the Blackroot Vale and his group. They ride together towards the town of Dalir, that lays on the western side of Pinedale, near the edge of Blackroot Vale. It is the town where the large Zealots and their 'allies' are marching upon. The site where a combined force of Blackroot and Pinedale Sarutobi will muster as Hons of Rachon will attempt to move from the north, all united in the goal to take down the threat.

[spoili]
It was somewhat exciting and yet scary. Sitting on her knees Meilin had her hands balled into fists on her lap. Her eyes were locked on the small tribute that she had quickly made for her ancestor. The founder of her lineage, Nayami Cho. Not really a founder of a lineage through actions of valour or grand prestige. In fact, Meilin wasn't so sure if an offer to her ancestor would bring her any luck. But she was certain that she could use every blessing and help with the current situation she was in.
Closing her eyes, taking the fact she was from a clear line of sight from Oakrath with a hill behind her, Meilin started to whisper a few phrases. Slowly opening her eyes, she would get up and grab the necklace she had laid next to the bit of food laid on a flat and small rock. It wasn't perhaps the offer that one could please their own or any ancestor with but Meilin's resources were already strained. And she was hoping that her ancestors would find it sufficient enough, considering the circumstances that were in play. Balling her right hand into a fist she would place the fist against the palm of her left hand, closing her eyes as she made a small bow towards the offering. Once done, she would put the necklace of her mother on. Meilin would then turn to the direction of the road.
Amund and his men should arrive soon, she thought to herself. Arriving near the road, Meilin didn't wonder how the team would be doing. They were in Oakrath, so they would be safer than she was going to be. Perhaps they would be angry but that wasn't something she worried about. Right now she wanted to advance her own agenda, regardless of what they would be thinking. In her opinion, this was more of her fight than theirs.

Noticing movement up ahead of the road, Meilin smiled. Spotting the Blackroots, Meilin raised her right hand. A slight relief flowed through the teen as she noticed that it was only the Blackroots and no member of Team 7 or Kyoi being present. "Perhaps Nayami can be proud of the deceptions that I have devised so far," Meilin thought to herself.

The Blackroots would close in the distance with Meilin quite fast. Amund would nod towards the genin as he gestured to a horse that they had brought with them. "Received the message. I take it then that you are going alone?" He asked, his eyebrows slightly rising.

Flashing a smile as she would mount the horse, Meilin hoped that she would be able to remain seated. Her skill and expertise with horses could be considered to be quite close to non-existent.
"Yes, I imagine that they are better off at Oakrath," Meilin answered, "Shall we go then?"

Amund eyed the Cho for a moment but wouldn't ask any questions. Nodding, he would lead the group further. The pace was high, as Amund made that abundantly clear with his stern voiced instructions and orders. They held some breaks on the road towards Dalir but they were few and not particular long enough for most to really relish the short time to catch some breath and get rid of the aching that some suffered, for riding and sitting so long in the saddle. It would take a total of three days before they reached the outskirts of Dalir, spotting the large town up ahead. The city had stone walls and towers, unlike Oakrath. It was, however, smaller than the capital of Pinedale. Even while settled on land that was fertile and not too close to the perimeter of the Blackroot Vale, there was quite some security present. There were large groups of people with waggons and caravans heading towards the city. The expression on their faces said more than the words that Amund, Meilin or any of the Blackroot group could overhear. The atmosphere as they reached the city gates was getting less and less good. Many well armed and armoured soldiers and guards were on duty. Manning and patrolling on the walls, behind the battlements, keeping a wary eye on anybody that approached the city.
Amund would continue to lead the group into the city. It was bustling with activity but the atmosphere wasn't filled with the usual sounds one would expect from a thriving city. There were the occasional laughter and merchants that were praising their wares but it was overwhelmed by people trying to make way and being guided to places where they could take their refuge. The current troops stationed in the city had their hands full in making certain that everything went according to what was planned, though there were the occasional cursing, arguments and shouting. The enemy wasn't yet in sight but it was clear that the city was already being besieged in a dreadful way, by fear and anticipation of the expected foe.

They would, however, not attend to the current situation of the city. Instead, Amund kept leading them to one of the large barracks, where they could already see Blackroots in arms and armour lingering around, training or standing guard.

The atmosphere in the barracks was vastly different than outside, in the city. There were men laughing, singing and talking with each other as if they wouldn't soon be fighting for both their kin and fellow Sarutobi. It was as if they were preparing for a feast instead doing battle. At one of the tables was the imposing lord of the Blackroots, speaking on a more serious tone with various other men. Approaching them, Amund beckoned Meilin to stick close to him.

"Lord Blackroot," Amund said, his greeting followed by a salute. The captain would continue to bring the report of what he had learned and heard from his travels, towards and from Oakrath. The Blackroots at the table were silent, trying to listen to the report of Amund. Once done, Amund would nod towards Meilin, explaining her part and reason for being present. The lord of the Blackroots, Knvell, frowned as he eyed the teen that he had once received as a guest.

"I see," the man grumbled as he pondered on what was told. He would speak up a moment later. "You, suggested the idea of this battle tactic?" He asked Meilin, "What kind of experience do you have at war, Meilin of the Cho?"

Meilin also saluted, while waiting for Amund to do his report. It was quite refreshing to be able to just hear and speak Chonobi. Not that she was against speaking the common language but she did relish the fact that she could just speak and listen to the language she truly considered to be part of her heritage. The question of Knvell didn't take long for Meilin to answer, as she would do so honestly.
"My experience with war is quite lacking, Lord Blackroot. I haven't fought in any large conflict or large battle. My recent battles are all I can chalk up to my experiences. I can state that my knowledge of war and various tactics from my training as a member of the Cho Guard. Other than that, I am quite eager to learn, I suppose."

The answer seemed to make Knvell ponder. He threw a look at Amund for a moment and then turned his attention back at Meilin. "Very well. Can't deny that I feel some for the plan. Though the strategy of your kin at the battle of Niri was somewhat different if I remember it correctly. I will make some adjustments. I will also allow you to fight among our ranks but that your life is your own. Nobody here is responsible for your life if you decide to take your place among us to face those bastardly zealots and Uchiha."

The expression on Meilin's face hardened as she heard the words of Knvell. Nodding slowly the teen would reply back with a most determined tone.
"I fully understand. If I find my death in the coming battle then I am prepared to face it without fear. As long as I can wet the steel of my weapons with their blood before I might fall."
She wanted to say more, on how eager she actually was to face and fight those Zealots and any of their dreaded allies in battle. Even though she couldn't really imagine how a battle was fought other than what she had learned and read. But she was also aware that matters could vary quite different than how they were written down in books. Yet, the fear and pain she was going through were probably nothing to what her siblings and father were going through.

"Ah, very well then! For now, rest out. Attend to your gear. I take it that you have met my grandson, Authun?" Knvell said as he gestured to the young man present at the table. "Authun, help her with some of the gear. Tomorrow, we will head out."

[fieldbox=The Third Clan Meeting - part 1]
The Empire of Akino,
Vindex - the capital of the Tokugawa clan land, in the Fire province.

A collab between:
Chromehound, Fieryfly, Roran Hawkins, Conman, Zane, Gerontis, Lesli, Nim, Jason and Alice.

Summary:
A clan meeting was organised and held in the manor of Leo Tokugawa, the leader of the Tokugawa clan. It was a meeting that saw some development occuring with the clans of the Empire as various small clans made their debute on the political atmosphere of the realm. While some of the interactions didn't go that smoothly, it was in overal a success.

[spoili]
It hadn't been the far away from Konohagakure, but the ride towards Vindex was one that Kiyomi had enjoyed. While a carriage had been prepared with the Sworn Swords as escort and retinue, Kiyomi had insisted that she would ride on her own instead of just being stuck in a carriage. It had led to a brief, light discussion between her and Katashi, but the latter reculantly accepted the idea. It resulted into an almost spontanous parade of Kiyomi riding through the streets of Konohagakure on top of Shozo the pony. From there it had taken almost a week to reach Vindex as the pace was set rather calm, something that made Kiyomi only happier. The fact she was riding outside and being out of Konohagakure gave the sensation that she was more free, able to breath again. Arriving the perimeter of Vindex Kiyomi was coerced to take place in the carriage. This was so that Katashi and his Sworn Sword could lead them faster to the manor of Lord Tokugawa, or so was his argument that made Kiyomi agree with the plan.

From within the carriage she was able to catch glimpse of the city. It was much different from Konohagakure or Magnhild. Curious she wondered if it was possible to explore and spend some time in the city before heading back to Konohagakure. It wasn't as if she expected that Lord Tokugawa would object to it. Riding through the city, the entourage of the empress caught quite some attention. Making Kiyomi only more eager to see what she could learn and experience from the locals as she had to look from within the carriage. For a moment she wondered where the Agnarr Hons were. It was most possible that Lord Tokugawa had prepared everything and made certain that every arriving leader wouldn't have much trouble or being held up for too long in his city.
Finally arriving at the manor the door of the carriage was opened by Iroh. The man nodded towards Kiyomi as he stepped aside. Getting up from her seat Kiyomi threw a quick look around as she stepped out of the carriage. Though it was called a manor, it was much larger than she had anticipated. A small smile dawned on her lips.

As soon as her carriage had arrived the front doors would be opened up and out walked Leo with a smile on his face as a few geared up people followed him out to greet her grace. He would give the grace his open and closed fist bow while the geared fellows would bow themselves before her. One a bit shorter than the others would step forward and would remove her helmet tucking it under her left arm as she held out her right arm. "Mikoto Hon Agnarr your grace. It's good to meet you." She spoke in Chonobi already excluding Leo from the talk who simple laughed at being left out. Mikoto however was rather plain. Black hair and blue eyes and a scar under her left eye.

Spotting Leo Tokugawa and the welcome party, Kiyomi made a small and graceful bow towards the clan leader. However, a person - shorter than the others - moved forward and removed her helmet. For a moment Kiyomi wondered why and for what purpose. Remaining calm and patient, the teen learned who the person was. It took a mere split second before she realised who was standing in front of her. A glint appeared in her eyes as the smile on Kiyomi's lips grew. Kiyomi's eyes were locked on those of Mikoto as her hand moved forward. Grabbing the wrist of Mikoto firmly, Kiyomi replied back in Chonobi. "It is, Mikoto Hon Agnarr. Have heard some good things about you from Lord Tokugawa," Kiyomi replied back, briefly throwing a glance at Leo Tokugawa before back at Mikoto. The smile turned into a grin before the teen spoke up again. "Am wondering how much of it is true, though."

Once the Chonobi kept going he stood there amsued letting Mikoto meet an idol of hers, little did he know though Kiyomi was basically calling out his Megalodon. Mikoto gave a tight squeeze to Kiyomi's wrist and was a bit surprised when the young woman laid out a challenge to her pretty much. She would also grin and would chuckle. "You are more than willing to find out, if you aren't scared that is your grace." Mikoto replied back continuing to keep her attention locked on Kiyomi, to which Leo would look at the other Agnarr guards looking a bit worried.

Kiyomi's eyes narrowed, clearly amused and eager to see what this woman was made off. Feeling the tight squeeze she wouldn't just budge underneath the strength of the woman or the fact that a challenge had been made. Before she could reply, Iroh would click with his tongue. His steel grey eyes settled on Mikoto, but the signal was meant for Kiyomi. Who understood more than enough what Iroh meant. "I suppose that I will see if I have some time after more pressing matters," Kiyomi said, releasing Mikoto's wrist. She ignored the slight aching at her own wrist and was glad that the long sleeves of her outfit wouldn't reveal the likely coloured spot from Mikoto's firm grip. Turning towards Leo Tokugawa, Kiyomi inclined her head towards the clan leader. "Good day, Lord Tokugawa. Glad to have arrived at Vindex. The city is prettier than you described or what I have heard of others," the teen friendly brought up as she folded her hands in front of her.

Hearing the click her gaze meet Iroh's to which she stared at him for a bit before releasing her grip as well, giving a affirmative nod to Kiyomi as she placed her helmet back on her, allowing Leo to finally speak with her grace. Leo's smile would brighten a bit at the positive words of Kiyomi. "Why thank you your grace. I hope your travels were pleasant. I will lead you to the meeting room." Leo said turning back towards the manor and walking inside the building as the Agnarr guards including Mikoto would follow behind him.

On the inside was a well kept house. Not a speck of dirt, and it was well decorated. As Leo continued to lead them, a small figure would come out of a room slowly. The figure being a wolf that was graying, he would nudge up beside Leo who gave the wolf a scratch behind the ear. "Oh this is Silver your grace. Not a Dire wolf, yet he tries to act like it the stubborn old guy." Leo said as the Wolf would yawn and follow the group upstairs and into the meeting room. "I hope no less than twenty clan leaders show up, I don't have enough space at the table for more than that. Feel free to pick whatever seat you want your grace." Leo spoke as he would whisper to Mikoto to grab something, to which she nodded and would leave the room. The inside of the room was also decorated rather well, with painting of past conquests, some plants to liven up the place and a nice outdoor balcony to get some fresh air.

Following Leo and the Agnarr guards into the manor, Kiyomi was followed closely by her own Sworn Sword. Kiyomi was wondering for a moment how old this place was. She had studied a bit of the Tokugawa history. It had proven to be quite interesting. They had been slaves to some former clan. A clan that wasn't really known for good reasons, as the Tokugawa had likely made it happen that nobody would learn of their existence. Questions regarding the story which explained the rise of the Tokugawa clan were at the ready but Kiyomi decided against to ask them now. Following Leo further, the clan leader introduced her to a wolf. A bit surprised, Kiyomi eyed the old canine. It made her wonder of how much influence the Agnarr had on the Tokugawa or vice versa. Perhaps with the long relation between the two, it had created a mixture of traditions and habits being used by both? Once in the meeting room Kiyomi threw a look at the table. She wondered if it would be large enough, but she wasn't sure how many leaders or representatives of clans would be present.

"Thanks, Lord Tokugawa," Kiyomi replied back as she decided to head towards the head of the table. "We will just have to see who will come and attend before we will worry too much over space," Kiyomi further added as she took place to the right side of the head of the table. While she outranked Leo, it wasn't her home. While Kiyomi took her seat, the Sworn Swords would disperse in the room, taking their positions with Katashi standing behind Kiyomi's chair.

"Well if more show up than planned, I can have seats brought in for them. They just won't be able to sit at the table." Leo said as he dismissed his guards to be ready to escort other clan leaders should they want it. He would watch Kiyomi not take the head seat but the one right of it. Most likely out of respect for the meeting being held in Vindex, she was truly a strong considerate person. Smiling inside he would take his seat at the ehad right next to her grace, while Silver would curl up by his feet. "If you need anything your grace all you need to do is ask." Leo told her while Mikoto would walk back into the room and take her place behind Leo.

A smile crawled on Kiyomi's lips, "For now I am fine, Lord Tokugawa, thank you." She would cross her legs over each other and place her hands on her lap. It was just now waiting for the others to arrive. It made Kiyomi consider who would arrive first and who would wind up without a direct seat at the table. For a moment she pondered what would happen if a leader or representative of a prominent clan wouldn't get a seat at the table. Considering it all together, Kiyomi decided that if it would become an issue she would deal with it later.

Entering the hall, The young man that currently led what remained of the Senju felt nothing but admiration to the way everything appeared in this compound. Gakuro glanced around briefly as he approached the table and then took a deep bow in front of Kiyomi "It is good to be in your presence once more, your majesty." He said, stayed in the bow for a couple more moments before raising and then turn to look at Leo "I am delighted to be in your clan lands, Lord Tokugawa. They appear incredible and give the most amazing feeling of prosperity and unity." He said, giving him a bow as well before going to take the seat on Leo's left side, across from Kiyomi. He couldn't help but keep admiring the hall he was in, somewhat enchanted by it.

The door would be opened as Zakito would step into the room. Some sounds behind him resonated as his own personal guard and another familiar Hon were just exchanging some words with the present Agnarr guards outside the room. Making a deep bow towards Kiyomi, Zakito would follow with a much shorter one towards both Leo Tokugawa and Gakuro Senju. A part of Zakito hadn't expected Gakuro to be present, but he wasn't really bothered by it. As he would head towards the seat next to Kiyomi, another person entered the hall. A small grin present on his face, Kenta, scanned the room. The paintings and decorations were something that Kenta clearly could appreciate. More so because he could recognise of what some of the paintings depicted. Unlike Zakito, the old man would just offer a bow towards Kiyomi. Lord Tokugawa would receive a nod and Gakuro Senju a friendly smile being flashed. Taking a place next to Zakito, Kenta would rub his hands briefly together as he flashed a sideways glance at the young empress. "Ah, I am looking forward to the beverage we might get at this meeting. You know," Kenta began as Zakito crossed his arms and leaned a bit back to allow the two to speak better, "I have heard that some of the best Bloody Victory is stored in this city. The finest, sweetest and best of flavour," the grin on Kenta's lips widened. Zakito threw a sideways glance at the old man. While it hadn't been necessary for Kenta to come along, it would be useful. When he would travel back towards to Konohagakure, Kenta would be able to head towards Magnhild and share what happened at today's meeting. He just wondered if no representative or lord would question Kenta's place at the table. Knowing how the old man could get, Zakito released a soft sigh. Just as he had imagined that it would become silent again, Kenta spoke up.

"Ah, also we shouldn't forget," the man began in Chonobi, "The 'gift' that was brought from Magnhild and Ecla. For her grace," Kenta said as he winked towards the present teen. "How is the lad, Hiron doing?" Kenta continued on a casual tone, still speaking in their culture's language.

The former heir of the Ueno branch stepped inside the richly decorated hall with an indifferent yet respectful bearing, passing the Hon men locked in coversation outside the door. Once inside he spotted three individuals seated in a neat row near the head of the table and he immediately recognised each of them, as was expected of him by Lady Masami. Another pair of guests had entered right before him. The taller man was easily recognisable as the former Third Hokage with his trademark white hair, but he could not place a name on the second one. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him and joined the Third towards the table, patiently awaiting his turn to speak. The old man next to the Third seemed a bit out of place at best, speaking of local drinks as if having a conversation at a bar, but that was none of Souma's concerns. The old man then began speaking in the odd language he knew to be Chonobi to the empress, and he reasoned that he must know both the Third and the empress intimately. He waited patiently until it was his turn to present himself.

The door would be opened. A slender man entered the room, his hands folded in front of his stomach. Calmly taking in the room as Teng noticed that somebody else was standing silently in front of the table, the Cho would wait. Overhearing what was being said in Chonobi, Teng glanced in the direction. Most people were easy to recognise as he had little trouble to know who the old man was. Interesting enough, Zakito was also present. Making Teng wonder what brought Kenta over. Not that he was against it. The old man had an interesting reputation. But as Teng waited, he noticed that the other man was still waiting. Deciding to not wait until the other would find his tongue, Teng would take a step forwards, passing the unknown man. Making a bow towards Kiyomi, Teng spoke in Chonobi. "Your grace, it is once more a honour," he would then shift towards Kenta and Zakito, "Same counts for you two lords," Teng would then flash a smile towards Leo and Gakuro. Bowing for Leo and Gakuro seperatly, he would phrase that he was glad to arrive in such a grand place. Afterwards he would take place next to Gakuro Senju.

Entering the large manor, Elena on his arm, Jora admired the building. It was elegant, but not outlandishly so. Feeling a slight tug, he turned to his wife, smiled and continued moving. They could view the sights later, but for now it would be best to not be late. They entered a large room, clearly designed to be where they were meeting, and Jora felt Elena stiffen slightly at the sight of several important leaders already present. At any other point, he might have cracked a joke about her nerves, but it did not feel appropriate for such a formal event. Instead, the Hyuzu leader gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, offered a smile and led her towards the table. Jora noticed a few faces that he did not recognize from the previous meetings, including one such person who remained standing near the end of the table. Wondering for a moment if they should also wait, Jora decided against it and proceeded on. They stopped in front of the current clan heads and both Jora and Elena bowed. "It is good to see you again Empress Homura," he said warmly. Turning towards Zakito and Kenta, he nodded his head. "And you both, as well." Taking a moment before they would move to their seats, Jora smiled politely and nodded towards their host. "Thank you for having us, Lord Tokugawa, your lands are quite beautiful." With that said, he patted Elena's hand and took a seat beside Kenta, with Elena sitting beside him.

With a confident stride another person entered the room. Perhaps she wasn't one of the most renowned or leader of a great clan, Tsuru Yamanaka held her head up high. The travel towards Vindex hadn't proven no trouble, even though the woman had been rather cautious with the decision to head over to the meeting. Certainly with the latest developments that had caught her ears. Spotting various familiar and unknown faces, Tsuru would begin with a deep bow towards Kiyomi. "Your grace," Tsuru said with a soft and pleasant voice, turning towards the other leaders and representatives that already had taken a seat. Making a bow towards them as well, Tsuru would then proceed to take a seat next to Elena. Placing her hands, folded, on her lap, Tsuru wondered briefly where Shikamura Nara was. Hopefully, he and the Akimichi wouldn't be too late to claim a place near her. What further more was noticed by Tsuru was the absence of the Hanta and Uchiha leaders. Perhaps both clans still remembered the war brought upon them by the Tokugawa?

Not long after Tsuru Yamanaka entered and took her seat, would Shikamura Nara step inside the room. His pace was slow, deliberate. It gave the Nara a chance to survey the room and the people in it. Shikamura always found it interesting to see how people gathered, the people they chose to sit beside said a lot about them. If he had more time, Shikamura would enjoy simply watching, learning. As it were, however, he moved to the table, bowing towards the Empress and offering a polite nod towards the other present leaders and representatives. Taking his seat beside Tsuru, Shimakura smiled towards her. "It is good to see you here Lady Tsuru." he said in Yakimara. "Let us hope this meeting goes well." Taking a moment to look at the empty seats, Shikamura wondered who would be next to arrive.

It wouldn't take long for the next visitor to enter the room, accomponied by what seemed to be a servant. A calm expression was plastered on the face of the young woman, who represented the Tamiyo family, who governed the River province. The crest of her family clear in sight, woven into the right sleeve of her garb. Entering the room, Haruka held her head up high as her eyes tried to quickly take in who all were present. Her hands remained folded in front of her stomach as she would bow deep towards Kiyomi, to then continue with a small bow towards each of the present people. "Lord Tokugawa," the young woman began, "I am honoured to be in your lands and halls. To phrase the gratitude of my family, I wish to bestow you with a gift. My father hopes that you will accept it," the woman nodded subtly as the man next to her would turn around and gesture to behind them. As a few more men would come in, carrying a dark oak chair that was lavishly decorated with silver and gold, Haruka continued to speak. "May you rule for many years within the comfort of this gift, Lord Tokugawa," Haruka said as she made another bow towards the clan leader. Her attention then turned to Kiyomi as the few men would put the chair where Leo Tokugawa would deem it fitting. "Your grace, my father has also high hopes that you will find his gift worthy. It will be something I hope to give once this meeting is over but word has reached my father that you have taken a liking to travel on horseback." That having said, she flashed a friendly smile, bowing deep towards Kiyomi before taking a place next to Teng Cho.

Kiyomi would respond with just inclining her head and flashing a smile to most greetings. Spotting Kenta being present and taking a seat was something Kiyomi hadn't expected but she couldn't state that it was undesired by her. The man began talking, causing it to be impossible for Kiyomi to hide a smile as she listened to the man. "A gift?" Kiyomi replied curiously in Chonobi, wondering what was brought from Magnhild and Ecla. Not much chance was given to indulge further into it as more people arrived into the room. One man entered and seemed to patiently waiting for his chance to speak, but was so passive that others passed by. Seeing she didn't recognise the man, Kiyomi assumed that he was perhaps a bit new to it all? Was one of the most plaussible reasons she could come with at the moment. Most once more received a simple nod and smile back. Jora and Elena, however, gained a very different greeting. "Lord and Lady Hyuzu," Kiyomi said, "It is good to see you both fairing in good health as well." With the arrival of Tsuru Yamanaka and Shikamura Nara entering, Kiyomi wouldn't nod and just smile, but reply in Yakimara to the two clan leaders. "Lady Yamanaka, Lord Nara, it warms my heart to see you both in good health." It wasn't perhaps said in the most fluid form but Kiyomi did pride herself a bit with the advances she was making in mastering the different language.

The arrival of a young woman made Kiyomi ponder. She had seen this woman somewhere before but couldn't just remember from what or where. Then as she began speaking to Leo Tokugawa, Kiyomi managed to remember it. This was the young woman Koike had given a necklace to. As she further spoke, Kiyomi found herself somewhat amused. This was the daughter of the Tamiyo head, who was the current governor of the River province, if not mistaken. "Lady Tamiyo," Kiyomi began, not hiding that she was pleasantly surprised by the words of Haruka, "I am looking forward to receive your father's gift. Your father or his sources aren't mistaken that I do enjoy traveling on horseback."

As Kiyomi replied to Haruka, a Sarutobi entered the room. Dressed properly in the design of his culture, Ling instantly focused his gaze on Kiyomi. Waiting for the empress to finish as the lady she had been speaking to would sit, Ling would offer a deep bow towards Kiyomi. "Your majesty, it is as always both a pleasure and a honor," Ling said with a soft voice. As he straightened his back and would greet the other present people, Kiyomi noticed that the man had changed. A bit of pity would drift up, but wouldn't be shown, as she assumed that Ling's loss of Shizu was still something he was struggling with. Shizu had, after all, been in his care. The Sarutobi would take a seat next to Haruka Tamiyo, his hands folding together on the table.

The first to show would be Gakuro who gave Leo a rather nice compliment which was returned with a polite thanks, then the Hons showed up which he could tell brought a smile to Mikoto's face at the arrival of the two. With Kenta wondering about the drink known as Bloody Victory. A few words between Mikoto was exchanged which caused him to smile, as more and more leaders and representatives showed up. So far it looked like most of the seats would be filled up, which caused some worry but that would be something he would address if such a thing surfaced. What did honestly surprise him was the Tamiyo representative Haruka, brought him a gift. A rather impressive looking chair, although the style made it appear like a throne. "Why thank you very much Lady Tamiyo, its a very considerate gesture." He said offering her a smile as he stood up, which prompted Mikoto to move his chair out of the way as the new chair took his place. He would take a seat in it and give a smile. "It's very comfortable." He told her as the Sarutobi representative now showed himself. A fine man from what he knew, yet here he was doing his duty despite his loss. He was a fine man indeed.

The doors would open again yet instead of clan leaders or representatives, a few of his servants would enter the room, one carrying a tray with several bottles of red liquid, the other carried a tray of cups. The one young male servant would start pouring out drinks of the red crimson drink known as Bloody Victory, with the first one being given to Kiyomi and the second one to Kenta. Then the drinks were distrubted until everyone currently in the room would have a glass in front of them. "Feel free to drink as much as you want everyone, however I do recommend not drinking too much during the meeting."

Shozo Uchiha made sure that he halted on the doorstep and surveyed the room before crossing this boundary. Most of them had already arived, which made sense. Shozo had lingered with his entourage. His guards. His clan members who had been allowed to travel long with him to the Tokugawa lands. There were enough excuses to give to the members of the Tokugawa clan who sought to lead him inside to keep him out of their walls for a few minutes longer. A talk between him and his closest guards, some things that needed to be unloaded. Tiny things. Just enough so that Shozo could have a decent look around. Discretely of course. Despite the fact that the Empire was one now and all the clans had sworn fealty to the Empress, this was still enemy land and Shozo would not forget that. He was very keenly aware where the alliances of this land laid and knew it was not in his favour at all to be here today. But there hadn't been another option.

But now he was inside and looked at the babbling going on. The corners of his mouth curved down at the interaction before suddenly walking forwards, halting next to Souma Ueno, his eyes on the Empress. To his side the older Hon was babbling in that little petty language of theirs. Despite the fact that the Hon clan now ruled over Konoha and the rest of the land, this language of theirs, Chonobi, was still as closed off as ever. A fact Shozo found rather incomprehensable. If the Empress could speak two languages why weren't the people allowed the same two? More like Yakimara which was openly spoken by whoever wanted. Having only a few be allowed to speak this hideous language made it look elitist and as if they had something to hide. Not to mention, speaking it in public like this was just rude and offending. Shozo remained silent.

Lady Tamiyo had just presented the Tokugawa leader with a chair. A nice enough gift. Shozo cleared his throat. "Your Grace, Lord Tokugawa, allow me to introduce Souma Ueno," he said calmly to finally allow the Nimatsu representative to be relieved of his position placed upon him by the Empress. "If my estimations are correct he will speak for the Nimatsu today." He made a curt bow, and then turned, his dark cloak with the symbol of the Uchiha clan on the back as was tradition flowing behind him. With a quick gesture towards Souma he urged the other man to follow him to the left side of the table which had remained mostly empty. Beckoning Ueno to go first, Shozo would offer the man the seat next to Ling, before sitting down himself next to Ueno.

Chu Omari entered the room quitely. His clan had done their best to suite him with newish clothes, the elders having spent much of their time on sewing his new outfit to meet with the other clan heads and representatives. The clothes had not come without a cost though, and it made Chu's head ache to think of how much the fine material that the clothing was made from cost. Then there was Chu, who looked out of place and uncomfortable in his clothes and finery, as if he was far more used to casual wear. He made his way to the appropriate distance to the Empress and the host of this meeting, and bowed deeply. His voice was low but conveyed greatfullness as he spoke. "It is an honor to be included in these talks your grace. My thanks to you and the gracious host of this meeting for allowing me to join ." As he finished speaking, he straightened up out of the bow, waited for the response from the Empress before turning and walking to the opposite end of the left hand side of the table to a vacant seat, where he sat down carefully. It felt quite awkward, sitting in the room with some of the most powerful clan heads in the Empire. It also left Chu to wonder just why it was he was here though.

Standing on the doorstep for a brief moment, Makoto Hanta took a moment to survey the room he was about to enter. Seeing most of the others present at the meeting, he was still ill at ease. Despite the Empire being one and all that, these lands still felt much like enemy territory to the Hanta. On top of being in enemy territory, he wasn't allowed to bring his personal guards into the building. Something that he could understand, but did nothing to put him at ease. Making his way into the room, Makoto paused when an appropiate distance from the Empress and the Tokugawa. Giving a polite bow, Makoto spoke in calm tone. "It is an honor, your grace. Lord Tokugawa." He said, before turning and heading to take a seat near Shozo Uchiha. Only, some youth was sitting next to the Uchiha, and one that Makoto couldn't quite place at that. Taking a seat on the other side of the boy, Makoto watched him for a few moments before deciding to introduce himself. More out of curiosity for who this boy was representing than anything else. "I'm afraid I've not had the honor of meeting you before, I am Makoto Hanta. Might I ask who you are?" He said, keeping a polite and conversational tone towards the other. He'd heard about how easy it could be set some of these youths off...

Pausing for a moment, just outside the doors, Ferra Arkos adjusted the sleeve of her frustratingly fancy outfit. Blasted thing was incredibly impractical. How was someone supposed to fight in clothing like this? Clenching her jaw to resist the urge to grumble, she tried to place a smile on her face before entering the room. Stepping into the large room, Ferra resisted the urge to stare around at everything. The whole place seemed quite ornate and, while she was sure it was probably quite beautiful, she had never really been one for overly lavish decorations. Simple was more her style. Ferra still wasn't too happy that her clan had picked her as their representative for this meeting. They wanted someone recognizable. The famed Godai champion from Ame. Blegh... She could understand them wanting to make a good display at their first meeting with the more powerful clans, but this really wasn't her element. Put her on a Godai court or a battlefield and she could hold her own just fine, but here... Pushing the thoughts from her mind, Ferra strode forwards, putting up an air of confidence, while simultaneously trying not to trip on the hem of her dress. Stupid thing... Approaching the edge of the table, she made note of the faces. Almost all of them were incredibly alien to her. She recognized the Empress of course, from the pictures she had seen. And Chu... it was odd seeing the boy here. For a moment, Ferra wondered if he was as out of place as she was.

Presenting herself before the Empress, Ferra bowed deeply. It was nice to see a woman in power for once. While Kiyomi appeared quite young, Ferra did not find that problematic. So far, from what she had heard, the young Empress was more than capable of taking care of herself. The perfect example of someone whom others would make the mistake of underestimating. Rising from her bow, Ferra spoke, her tone respectful. "It is a pleasure to be here today. My people thank you for inviting us." Nodding politely to the others in attendance, Ferra, narrowed her eyes slightly. It appeared that many of the seats had been taken and there was an even number of people on either side. She hesitated for a moment, unsure which side to pick. Deciding to sit on the side with more females, Ferra moved over to sit beside Shikamura who offered her a friendly smile and nod. Returning the nod, Ferra noticed that everyone had a cup that was filled with some sort of red liquid. Wondering if she was late, she silently cursed herself and focused on flattening out her dress.

Hearing the Empress address Tsuru and himself in Yakimara, Shikamura beamed and turned back to her. "You continue to surprise, Your Grace. Your mastery over our language is most impressive." The Nara responded in Yakimara before nodding and turning to face the rest of the table once more.

As the drinks were served and she was the first, Kiyomi phrased thanks as she also inclined her head towards Leo Tokugawa before raising her drink slightly towards the man. She made sure to take a small sip. Letting the flavour run over her tongue, she felt a chill running over her shoulders down towards her back. While this wasn't the first time that she had enjoyed the beverage, she was aware that she shouldn't drink too much. It would probably damage the good reputation, she thought sarcastically to herself as she put her drink down. Noticing a newcomer into the room, Kiyomi didn't reveal any emotion over her facial feature. She had honestly expected Shozo Uchiha to send somebody else to represent him in this meeting. Something she would understand and to a degree respect. The manor of Leo Tokugawa wasn't probably a place that was on Shozo's bucketlist to visit. That was, if the man even had any place other than Konohagakure he wanted to visit. With Shozo speaking up and announcing another man, Kiyomi's eyes settled on the representative of the Nimatsu. She had never heard of this Ueno. For a moment the teen was about to inquire why somebody as Masami Nimatsu hadn't came to the meeting, but she decided against it. There were more pressing matters than trying to learn why somebody else was send. Of some line or origin she never had heard off. "I bid both you and Souma Ueno welcome to this meeting," Kiyomi replied back in a friendly manner. She shot a sideways look at Zakito but nothing more than a quick glance was given. Raising her glass once more the teen gently made the liquid in the glass move by slowly and gently moving the glass. Then a person entered the room. With her sharp eyes and skill in reading body language, she tried to read the newcomer. Which wasn't working, because she wasn't known with many factors that could lead to a good conclusion.
Spotting the marking that were probably the crest of his clan, Kiyomi wanted to lean back and request softly if Katashi was aware who this person was. Before she could do that another person entered the room.

This time, the arrival of the following person caused Kiyomi to find herself slightly surprised. Also happy when she noticed who would represent the Hanta. Makoto wasn't probably happy with being in the hall of the Tokugawa, yet here was. Instead of a nod and flashing a smile, the features of the teen shifted into more serious. "It is good to see you, Lord Hanta. Hope the journey was one without any bother," the empress replied back, flashing afterwards a warm smile. Perhaps this could be a small step in order to see the Tokugawa and Hanta forgive what happened in the past? She could only hope for now and see what her influence could do to make it happen in the future. Shifting her attention for a moment, she barely missed a newcomer into the room. One that wasn't once more not a familiar face. Flashing a smile, Kiyomi nodded to the newcomer. Perhaps she should request their names later? As more people came into the room, representating their clan or dynasty, Shikamura Nara spoke in Yakimara.

"Why thank you, Lord Nara," Kiyomi replied back, unable to hide a smile by the compliment, in Yakimara, "I must say that I had some help from a very talented teacher. I do hope that I am able to speak it better in the near future." While she wasn't certain if she was truly able to agree with the Nara, it seemed that speaking in Yakimara to the lord and lady of the Nara and Yamanaka clan had its desired effect. With the room being quite filled, Kiyomi would clear her throat twice to demand both the attention and people to grow silent.

"First," Kiyomi began on a friendly tone, "Allow me to welcome you all to this clan meeting. It brings me joy to see both familiar as unknown faces. With Lord Tokugawa being so kind to allow me to host this meeting in his manor, I wish to thank him once more for his acception of letting this happen here." Flashing a smile as she threw a look sideways at the lord of the Tokugawa, Kiyomi raised her glass slightly upwards. "Furthermore, I like to bring a small toast to those who are perhaps new to this all. Welcome!"

That having said the teen would take a sip, expecting that others would follow her. Lowering the glass she would lean forward, her elbows on the table as her eyes would shift over the people being present. "Now, I think it is time that we start the meeting. As before, I have considered and thought of various topics I wish to discuss with you. My first topic is," the tone of the teen started to shift. It wasn't anymore friendly and just polite. It became stern and neutral, losing most of its warmth. "Is the safety of the realm." Letting the words sink in, Kiyomi's eyebrows would be raised slightly before she continued. "Everybody is aware of some events and.. developments that have occured. Lately our realm has been dealing with what have been nicked as Zealots. Thanks to the effort of the national military, most of the activities have been combat and countered. Lord Hon and Commander can attest himself on how difficult this task has been," Kiyomi said, gesturing to the man at her side, "But I have been thinking." Her gaze settling on Shozo for a moment.

"What kind of measurements can be taken to fully neutralise this threat? What can be expected from local forces to deal with the Zealots and any that dares to ally with them?" The questions were followed as Kiyomi would only halt to take a breath. Her gaze would shift further once more. "My question is thus simple, my lords and ladies. What will your clan will do to safeguard the safety of the Empire? For do know that the Zealots won't make any difference between us. From those who we captured, we already learned a good deal of their plans and connections. So," leaning backwards Kiyomi flashed a smile, "Unless you all just wish to hear what I consider proper actions, I am curious to hear what you all have to say."

Zakito had remained silent. He had just waited and watched, listening to what was being said. His right eye scanned everybody that entered the hall and he was glad to see some familiar faces. Next to him, Kenta was partly silent. The old man grumbled, quite happily, when he was the second to receive a drink. Recognising the gesture Kenta raised the drink towards Leo Tokugawa for a moment, phrasing his thanks in Chonobi before taking a sip. The beverage was certainly appreciated, if one had to judge it from the facial features of Kenta, as the old man leaned back in his seat. With the arrival of Shozo Uchiha, Zakito settled his attention on the leader of the Uchiha. There was something that Zakito disliked more about the man than he had done before. Knowing it was all because of his current situation with Hisoka, Zakito tried his best to put himself past the frustration and irritation that seemed to come out of nowhere. Only it was a bit hard as next to him, Kenta mumbled something in Chonobi. "Seems that the 'boy' has gained a new toy. How... dull." Zakito decided to not say anything, as a soft sigh escaped his lips. Soon enough Kiyomi and Shikamura exchanged some words. It caught Zakito's attention as he hadn't been aware that Kiyomi had practised Yakimara. There was somebody on his mind on who could have helped the young empress with that, slightly brightening his mood.

As Kiyomi began the meeting and the first topic, the mood of Zakito became less positive. He would listen, but didn't like it. When the teen was done, he was about to say something, only for somebody else to rise up and speak. "Your grace, I would like to answer," Haruka started. She had a serious expression on her face as she continued to talk. "The threat of the Zealots is one that me and the River province have been dealing with. We are not strangers, dealing with people who are both hostile and zealous in approach. A relative of Lord Hon saw to the end of one hostile faction in the River province. If it would please her grace, I would like to suggest that my family will increase their aid to the crown to see these 'Zealots' pay for their crimes against the realm." Once done Haruka would sit down. Zakito eyed the young woman briefly, before he would decide to wait for a second. Announcing his support didn't feel that right. He was already working, almost day and night, to do his best to combat the Zealots on all fronts. Instead, the man would say something else.
"Any extra support than the taxes and military forces that are required to be given to the Empire as the laws of the land dictate are more than welcome," the Hon began, "However, before you all decide to offer more support and try to combat the Zealots directly, allow me to advise you something." Letting a second of silence follow his words, Zakito would speak up again. "They aren't going to fall for simple traps. Their goal is to learn and study most of our ways. Not only what our strengths and weaknesses are, but who and what we are. If you all wish to prevent them from probing and hurting those who you hold dear, my advise is quite simple. Stop any petty quarrel and let us try to act as an united nation. If we stand as one, I seriously doubt if the Zealots will grow successful. If we won't? Then I fear more people will get hurt or go missing than already have."

As Chu sat at the table, he watched an older man enter, one who was giving him a funny look, and one that wasn't something that uncommon, even with the Empress. It was a look of confusion and a look of grasping for knowledge. The latter was usually for them trying to figure out who he was, or at least that was his assumption. The older man took a seat next to him, before shooting a look at him as if he was conflicted. Chu watched the man carefully out of the corner of his eye before the man started speaking, at which Chu politely turned to face him, speaking in an equally formal and polite tone to reply to his question of just who Chu was. "Apologies, my name is Chu Omari, leader of the Omari clan. It is nice to meet you." Chu offered a friendly tone with the last sentence, before turning to look back at the rest of the room quickly. As he did so he spotted Ferra, looking just as awkward as Chu felt. Of course, something did rise to his mind that Ferra told him as she bowed before the Empress. It made him more curious, and he filed away the information for further use in the future. However, seeing Ferra suddenly made him more curious as to who else he might know in the room, and as he gazed around he realized just who it was he was sitting next to, and suddenly Chu felt a little more uncomfortable. The Uchiha, a name that even his clan in their relative isolation knew about.

His thoughts were cut short as the Empress spoke up. She offered a small toast to all those who were new to the meeting, and at that Chu realized he had been served a drink and he hastily picked it up to follow suite. He had little time to think about it before he drank a small amount of the liquid within the cup, and then the bitter taste rolled through his mouth combined with the sweetness as well, and Chu decided ultimately that he'd rather not have a second taste, and fought the urge to cough as he swallowed the drink. As he finished controlling his need to cough the Empress moved on, speaking of the zealots and the damage they were doing, before passing on to ask just what the clans could do to help against them. Chu listened to a reply from another woman, one that he did not recognize, speaking of how her family would want to increase the support they provided to the crown. The second person to rise was also unrecogonized by Chu, and he spoke of how they ought to be careful in how they combat the zealots if they choose to do so, for the safety of their kin and friends. Chu found himself with a heavy burden, their was not much the Omari could offer the Empire, they had few members of age to join the military and fewer gold, all they had was swords and the crops they grew, nor of course did they engage in any quarrels or feuds with any of these other clans. It was doubtful they even knew the Omari existed. Then it struck Chu, and he rose after Zakito finished speaking. "Apologies, I am Chu Omari of the Omari clan for those who do not know me. Your grace, the Omari have no warriors nor do we have gold outside of our usual requirements to offer to the Empire. What we do have is smiths though, and crops too. If it would please your grace, the Omari would offer their support in the form of smiths for arming the Empire's army and crops for feeding them." When he was done Chu sat down once again, lapsing into silence and awaiting replies from the others around the table and from the Empress herself.

More people would enter the room which started getting to the max limit, he made sure to return the raised glass gesture to both Kiyomi and Kenta as they took their first sip of the drink. Yet one arrival surprised him the most. Lord Hanta decided to show up which cause Leo to smile and give him a polite nod at his greeting. "Welcome to my home Lord Hanta, if you need anything, all you need to do is ask." He said with a polite smile as he stared at a now full table. He heard some Chonobi words from Kenta, which he obviously didn't understand but Mikoto sure did who didn't hide her amused look and the laugh that followed it. "Guess we went a bit overboard afterall." She spoke in Chonobi knowing most would never know what she said besides the Chonobi culture that is. As the room became filled and voices would sound throughout the room, Kiyomi would clear her throat to silence the room and start the meeting off. Starting with a toast to which he held his drink up for taking a sip for the toast, then she addressed the first problem, insurgents and zealots. He had reports of them, not many but enough to know that they were a threat to everyone.

The first to speak would be Lady Tamiyo, who offered her aid to the crown to help combat the Zealots. A strong response, and as soon as she was done Lord Hon would then speak speaking that whatever they could provide was more than welcome, yet what they truly needed was to be united with each other than against. The enemy was praying for those kind of situations and he agreed one hundred percent with the Lord, yet when the Omari leader spoke up, he seemed to be misunderstanding what was said by Zakito. So when the boy was done speaking, the one to rise next would be himself. "The point behind Lord Hon's words Lord Omari, wasn't needing certain possesions. What is needed is for us to aid one another when needed, and not have doubts about our allies when it's clear who the enemy is." He started looking at all the leaders that were present. "Resources I doubt are a problem, trust among each other is though, and so with that I agree with you Lord Hon. To all that are here, you have my aid should you need it." Finished speaking he would sit back down in his seat and let anyone else speak.

As Kiyomi purposed the toast, Gakuro briefly looked at the drink before taking a sip out of it. It was the first time he got a chance to taste the interesting drink, but as he put the drink back down on the table in front of him, the Empress addressed the first topic at hand. How can each clan safeguard the safety of the empire. As he thought about what remains of the clan could do, he listened to what the others had to say. Unity, support in resources and aid of any kind. He mostly found himself agreeing with Zakito's words "Out of everything that has been said so far, I believe Lord Hon has offered the best solution. Any quarrels we have between the empire's clan, any discomforts, need to be set aside as we need to work together against this sort of threat. While I do not have much to offer in terms of letting go of issues with other clans, as thankfully I do not have any with all of you, I am willing to offer myself and the Senju hall as a middle ground to put away any issues between clans." He said, looking at everyone around the table as best as he could "And while I say this right now, with the present danger that lies around, I want you all to know that this offer will stay open long after the threat has been dealt it." He finished speaking and glanced around briefly once more, waiting to see if anyone would take him up on his offer.

Souma had nodded at Shozo appreciatively when he remarked upon the growing situation and solved it, although the part of him that was a boisterous 23-year old grumbled that he didn't need any patronizing. Regardless, after a polite bow to the empress he found himself a seat next to the Uchiha clan head. He sat in silence, observing the heads of the empire's clans chatter amongst themselves until Kiyomi silenced them. She spoke of a common threat in the zealots, who made no difference between Hyuuga, Uchiha, Hon or any other clan. She asked them what they would each do to combat this threat. The question amused him. Essentially she was attempting to recruit the clans to sacrifice their resources to fight this insurrection. The clans, some of which had been very reluctant at the idea of an empire to begin with, would now squander their resources solvings its problems even though they already paid taxes and troops for the ever-growing imperial armies. A genius plan, but also an admission of weakness of a sort. He had to admit that the zealots were a common foe. Even the Nimatsu's mountanous valleys had felt their taint, and he had personally led a raid against a suspected hideout not even a week before. He felt a bitter taste in his mouth when he heard clanhead after clanhead commit their full support. But he swallowed it away as was expected of him.

He listened on in silence, burying his personal feelings with duty as he'd learned to do until Zakito said that ensuring their unity was paramount. To end squabbles and rivalries, to promote trust amongst the clans. Trust, Souma felt necessary to add in the privacy of his skull, that was so blatantly displayed when half of the Hon and affiliated clans present felt the need to converse amonst eachother in their closely-guarded language so noone could understand a word of what they said. Once the man he knew to be Gakuro Senju was done speaking, Souma inclined his head to compliment his speech. That was well-spoken.
"The Nimatsu will do what is necessary." He said on a neutral tone.

Tsuru smiled as the person who got to sit next to her was Shikamura Nara. "It is good to see you here as well, Lord Nara," Tsuru replied in Yakimara, the friendly tone being genuine. "I have a certain feeling it might become quite interesting," the smile shifted, but the woman wouldn't say more. She was certain that the Nara knew her well enough to get a good hint. Then as the Empress spoke in Yakimara towards Shikamura Nara and her, Tsuru found herself a bit surprised. Much like the Nara, the woman was quite happy with hearing the ruler speaking Yakimara. More representatives and leaders came into the room. It would seem as if Tsuru was patiently waiting for the meeting to start. But it was quite the opposite. Without betraying herself in her body language, the woman was at work to pay close attention to various people in the room. The light blue eyes briefly followed Shozo Uchiha as he had announced the representative of the Nimatsu clan. Softly the woman clicked with her tongue as she closed her eyes and lowered her head.

A soft whisper inside the mind of two people would spin sentences, revealing the thoughts of some people in the room. Just before Kiyomi would speak up, Tsuru was done with relaying the information. Her eyes were focused on the young empress, looking as if she was focusing on what only Kiyomi said. She, however, continued to probe and silently dig in the minds of her targets. There was little doubt that anybody would catch her. Those times had existed but how long had that been? Almost two decades, she thought to herself.

"Pathethic," the woman thought to herself, "So the Kusanagi was perhaps right. Talking about a disappointment." Briefly the eyes of Tsuru settled on one of the Sworn Swords, who had laid his gaze on her. The stare 'contest' between the two endured for a short moment before Tsuru focused her gaze back on Kiyomi. Raising her glass for the toast, Tsuru would take a small sip of the drink. The strong flavour was certainly 'interesting'. Yet, she prefered something milder than the beverage provided by Lord Tokugawa. The first topic of the meeting was brought by the Empress to them, regarding the threat of the Zealots. Not much of a surprise for Tsuru, the representative of the Tamiyo dynasty spoke up. Tsuru wondered briefly how the young woman would fare in this meeting. As the meeting continued, Tsuru shot a look towards Souma Ueno. "The Yamanaka will do what her grace will require of them," Tsuru said as she turned her head towards Kiyomi, flashing a smile, "I am certain that I can provide some people with specific abilities that will be quite useful in combating this threat."

He had been quiet, just watching and listening. Paying mind to not indulge too much into thoughts, Teng couldn't help to release a brief chuckle on hearing the words of Kenta. It was because of the man's personality why Teng could appreciate his presence in meetings like this. With the meeting progressing, Teng patiently waited until he could speak. If there was one thing he was certain off was that it wouldn't come to any surprise that the Cho would be eager to help the empress. It was just the method of how they would do it that he kept away in his answer. "Her grace and the empire can count on the Cho being open to provide assistance in whatever manner it is required. If anything," his gaze went to Chu Omari, "I am certain that my clan would be even willing to reach out to clans and regions across the empire."

Haruka sat down. She listened to the lord Hon, realising that she had taken it perhaps a bit wrong in approach. Not that she didn't mean her words, but she understood as agreed with what he had said. Listening to the others, who spoke, Haruka remained silent for a moment. The moment Teng Cho was done, her lips parted to voice a question that had came up. "Mister Ueno," Haruka's tone was light and polite, "May I inquire on how the Nimatsu clan will aid the Empire?" Letting the question be followed by a moment of silence, a friendly smile would dawn on her lips. "I am not that much aware of the Nimatsu clan, but from what I understood isn't Lady Nimatsu married with a native from the Wind Country? Or did we miss the wedding?" The young woman asked, nothing in either in her tone or attitude. Meanwhile, there were some manovelent thoughts spinning in the young woman's head. If anything, she was well aware of what she could and couldn't do in a meeting like this. Nor did it really improve the situation. At least, not for the Nimatsu she figured if people remembered what the Wind Country had caused to the majority of the western side of the Empire.

Right across from Haruka, Kenta's eyes widened slightly. He had been rather content with following the meeting. There were some questions and pondering going in the mind of Kenta, mainly about how well others would be able to take Bloody Victory. Considering himself an expert of the respective beverage, Kenta's thoughts came to an abrupt halt. His gaze moved from Haruka slowly to Souma. The corner of the man's lips curved down. He wasn't really a fan of the Nimatsu. Not because of the past conflict or anything regarding to what happened around that time. It was just like some other people, Kenta didn't like them for other reasons. But this was seriously out of the line. First confusion dawned on the man as he tried to reason why the Nimatsu would even do something that treacherous. Then the confusion would be swept away by anger, slowly rising as a menacing beast. His eyes narrowed as his lips were about to part. But before he would be able to say something, he noticed something to his side. Crossing his arms, the old man would remain silent.

"The Sarutobi are proud to be loyal, to her Grace. She can fully count on my people to do their best to aid to wipe out the zealots," Ling said as he would place his right fist at this chest. The man had been silent and somebody not familiar with the man would perhaps consider him to be distant, pondering over other matters. The fact that the man said the words right after Haruka had asked her question, wasn't just a coincidence. Ling had paid close attention. It was anticipated that the meeting could be divided into groups or factions, depending on how fancy you wanted to get. What, however, happened was that everybody would either have to deny to cooperate with the suggestion of Zakito or try to find a way to phrase their way around it. Declining to help the Empire in the manner of how Zakito put it would be risking to see yourself and your clan fall in grace, appearing as mere traitors. Then something happened that Ling hadn't been able to anticipate. The representative of the Tamiyo dynasty spoke up, asking something from Souma Ueno. For a moment, he had forgotten all about that it made perfect sense for the young woman to bring that up. The face bearing some scars turned to look the side. He sat right next to Souma, which made it quite easy to also raise his voice and bring up a question - as his eyebrows would rise slightly. "Most interesting. I forgot to congrulate Lady Nimatsu," the man tilted his head slightly, "Must be such interesting on how that came to be. Being engaged to a native of the Wind country." Ling spoke in a calm and collected manner. His own emotions and thoughts regarding this 'bond' between the Nimatsu and the Wind country would be likely something not a lot of people would appreciate.
Certainly not the people in this room. Ling then leaned forward, his gaze towards Shozo. "Lord Uchiha, were you aware of this wedding?" A friendly smile crossed Ling's lips. "I am certain that it would be nice to have some cake now, don't you agree? We could celebrate it right now."

Hearing the responses of the other clan representatives and leaders, Gakuro nodded lightly, until Haruka spoke. Upon hearing about the mention of Lady Nimatsu's marriage to a resident of the Wind country, he turned to look in the direction of the Nimatsu representative. He gazed at Souma the best he could, the words of Ling passing by him but not being heard. Feeling greatly conflicted at first, Gakuro took a deep breath and closed his eyes before opening and focusing them on Kiyomi.

"There are several of us here who suffered greatly from what the Wind country caused us during the great war. I was personally abducted by the Wind country in a successful attempt to lure my mother out and take her out, which they managed to do, and it was due to them that I watched her die in front of my eyes." He said in a neutral tone "However," He turned his gaze towards Haruka "This does not mean we immediately need to judge an entire clan from the actions of a single member, even if she is a high ranking one. In this case, I believe it would be more appropriate to not point accusing fingers, despite how horrid the action may seem, and instead consider alternate routes. If it is Lady Nimatsu who done the deed, who said the clan accepted it? It is very possible that it is only due to her high position in the clan that she decided she can perform such an act. We should consider that perhaps the problem is her directly, instead of the entire clan. Until we hear anything different, I suggest we stop pointing fingers at each other. We just begun talking about the fact we need to unite, and this is doing just the opposite." Gakuro finished speaking, bringing his sight back to Kiyomi. While he kept a neutral face, inside he kept thinking about what his mother would think about what he said, as she was always the type to fight her way through things to show she was right.

Kiyomi listened to the exchanges, taking another small sip from the Blood Victory in her glass. It was as always interesting to see the various people that representated as led their clans interact. The first to speak was the Tamiyo. Her words made Kiyomi smile by a bit, nodding towards the young woman. The response of Zakito, however, was what Kiyomi had hoped for. While some didn't seem to understand it, it seemed that Leo Tokugawa was kind enough to explain it to the likes of Chu Omari. As the representative of the Nimatsu clan spoke, Kiyomi's facial features remained calm and collected. Taking another sip of the beverage, she decided that it was her last sip. Slightly the eybrows of Kiyomi were raised as the meeting took another turn.
The telepathic message from Lady Yamanaka was much appreciated. The arrangement she had made with the woman was paying off now and for a moment Kiyomi wondered how many languages all of them knew or were trying to master. For a moment anger started to boil up as she learned that others were judging the fact that some people decided to speak in another language before the meeting had started. Her eyes shifted for a moment at Shozo, shifting towards Souma and then following to others. She knew four languages so far. How many did they know? Realising all too well she was getting herself worked up, Kiyomi focused on her breathing. Calming herself, without letting a crack appear in her mask, Kiyomi continued to listen. It wasn't much of a surprise to hear the question from lady Tamiyo aimed at mister Ueno. Even Kiyomi was more than quite eager to get an answer, preferably from Lady Nimatsu. A loud sigh would suddenly interrupt the meeting, coming from Kiyomi.

Leaning forward with her elbow on the table and her hands folded, Kiyomi flashed a warm smile. "My uncle is a wise man. I think that I don't need to stress that out. Unity," the sole word rolled out of Kiyomi's mouth, sounding almost pleasant, "Is what we need to achieve. However, it is naive to think that it will be something achieved without some old wounds being ripped open. Before stating she was accusing or need to be lectured," the jade coloured eyes shifted towards Gakuro, turning slightly darker, "She asked a question. From what I understood, no accussations were made, Lord Senju. No need to make things worse," Kiyomi's smile grew for a moment as she would turn to Souma Ueno. "I am much interested to learn more what is behind the reason that Lady Nimatsu decided to wed somebody who's origin will cause a lot of... stress and anger. Seeing that Lord Senju was so kind," Kiyomi briefly gestured to the man, "I will be honest with all of you. There can be no trust if there is no honesty, agreed? I have my own reasons to distrust the Wind country. I have lost a very good friend suddenly as a native from that nation had decided to murder a member of the Hokage Guard, Sakamoto Senju. Not only that, he did that in front of his daughter. Or perhaps I should state that Sakamoto's sister was also murdered by the same man? Where Lord Senju is correct in that we can't judge a country on the actions of a few, I believe that caution is required when dealing with the Wind country. Certainly seeing that most of us don't have a pleasant experience with them. So yes," Kiyomi nodded towards Haruka, "If Lady Tamiyo did have any ill-will in her questions, I can understand perfectly where they came from. Even though it sounded as mere curiousity from Lady Tamiyo. So unless we can't prove they were with any ill-intention, no need to act differently."
Kiyomi let a silence endure for a moment after her words. "But," her smile came back as she once more gestured to the leader of the Senju, "I am certain that Lord Senju would be quite happy to receive Lady Tamiyo and the native from the Wind country in his hall! I do think that we can't linger more on that point. So please," she leaned back while gesturing to the people, "Shall we continue? Without falling back on what already has been said. We have quite a lot to discuss today, so if any of you wishes to pick up the previous questions and points, then we will see when we will do so."

The meeting was off to an interesting enough start, that much was assured. The Hanta remained silent, and kept a calm expression throughout the proceedings. His beverage remained untouched after the toast, not that anything was wrong with it. Makoto had simply fallen away from drinks in his older years. Looking towards Zakito as he spoke about needing a unified front against the Zealots, Makoto raised an eyebrow slightly as he turned his attention towards the Tokugawa sitting at the end of the table. Likely the distrust between their clans would fall under what Zakito meant by petty quarrels. Closing his eye for a long moment, the man thought that perhaps Hekima had been right. Perhaps it was time to try and move past some of the quarrels of the past. Opening his eye once more, the old man had resolved to speak but found another standing to speak, and as such remained silent. The Tamiyo Dyansty's represenitive stood to speak once more, and Makoto wondered if she would provide something else interesting to the meeting.

Interesting was one way to put the events that quickly followed after her words. Despite what seemed to be said, Makoto felt as if he detected a slight accusation in her words. He first turned his gaze to watch the Nimatsu respresentative, seeing how they would react. Though his attention was quickly stolen by the Senju in the room, and the subsequent reveal of information by Kiyomi. The man couldn't help but wonder exactly how the Senju had to be feeling at the moment. After a few moments of silence, Makoto rose for his turn to speak. "The Hanta have always believed there to be a certain strength in being unified. Trust in one another is a valuable asset. We would be honored to do as her grace would require of us, and provide aid to any here who should find themselves in need." The man said, before he sat down and watched the Tokugawa in particular. He couldn't help but wonder if indeed it was time to move past their little feud.

Relieved when one of the servants brought her a drink, Ferra stared at the dark red liquid. She raised the glass, spinning it ever so slightly in her hands. Inhaling the aroma, Ferra nodded to herself. It was a pleasant smell, one with complicated undertones. Clearly the product of a fine winemaker. Lowering the glass ever so slightly as the meeting started in full, Ferra listened to the young Empress speak. Her tone and manner belied her age and Ferra found herself pleasantly surprised. As Kiyomi raised her glass for a toast, Ferra followed suit, taking a large sip... gulp... of the rich wine. Pulling the glass from her lips, she smiled. It was rather tasty. Glancing around the room, Ferra noticed that most others had set their drinks down and they had begun taking turns to speak. Reluctantly setting her own glass down, she listened closely as the other leaders responded to the topic established by the Empress. Despite the guidance of the Lord Commander, it appeared that several still did not fully understand what had been asked. Ferra watched as Chu spoke, listening to what her student offered. It made her think for a long moment before she heard the same younger lady from before stand up and respond to the Nimatsu representative. While Ferra did not know many of these representatives, nor did she know the history of some of the smaller clans, she could sense the friction that had grown in the large room. Amused, she realized that this might not be as boring as she'd initially thought. Raising the glass to her lips, Ferra downed the remainder of the delicious liquid, using it to stop herself from smiling at an inappropriate time.

Setting it down, she threw a look towards one of the servants and then glanced back down to her now empty glass, hoping they got the hint. The Empress spoke up once more, putting and end, if only temporarily, to the growing tension. Ferra found herself growing even more impressed with the young ruler. Seemed the girl was more than capable of carrying her own in the political battlefield. From the air of confidence that surrounded Kiyomi, Ferra wondered just how well the girl could hold her own in a real fight. Very well, she imagined, and for a moment a thought tempted Ferra, piquing her competitive curiosity. Shaking the thought aside, at least for the moment, she realized that another representative had spoken. Turning her attention back to the rest of the room, just as the Hanta representative finished speaking, Ferra nodded slowly. Movement at her side caught her gaze and Ferra smiled warmly at the sight of her glass being refilled by one of the servants. "Thank you," she said politely. Taking a sip, Ferra turned back and decided now was as good a time as any to speak up. "My name is Ferra Arkos. I do not doubt that my clan may be unfamiliar to most, if not all of you. We are not a large clan by any means, nor are we particularly prestigious." Taking a moment, she made an effort to look at each representative in turn. "In my village, we have seen full well what these... zealots are capable of. The fear that they can spread and the dissension that they sew. The Lord Commander and the Empress are very correct in stating that a united front is the best chance we stand to stop this threat. I, for one, do not pretend to know what they are capable of. I do not know how large their force is, nor can I pretend to know what they are after. All that I know is that this threat is unlike any I have seen before."

Taking a breath, and another sip of the delectable drink, Ferra continued. "I know that there is some distance between Konoha and Amegakure. And I know that there may be some friction between our two villages. For what it is worth, however, the Arkos clan will stand behind the Empire, behind the Empress. We wish to improve relations with the clans from Konohagakure. Clans that we may previously have had no contact with. I hope that this meeting might serve as a starting point for those relations." Nodding slightly to indicate that she was finished, Ferra took another sip from the glass, lowering it to the table. She noticed the slightest tremble in her hand as she set the glass down. It seemed, after all this time, that nerves could still get to her. Public speaking really hadn't ever been her forte.

Shozo Uchiha, to all outward appearances, seemed absent in his attention to the conversation sparking up around him. As if he was distracted by other thoughts occupying him. Though his mind followed the chatter, his eyes hadn't moved to all of the speakers. The usual stuff was there, the usual glances. He had lived with it many years and it had long since stopped to faze him. Absentmindedly he took a sip of the provided drink. It was strong, he would give the Tokugawa leader that. He could appreciate a strong drink even if the taste wasn't much to his liking. He felt the whole point that was raised by the Commander, unity and cohesions to stand together before an enemy from outside, was moot. If they didn't already know his answer by now, then they honestly didn't know him at all. Shozo Uchiha would always stand for Konoha and if that meant standing at the side of the Hon at some point in history then so be it. As long as the city survived allying one's enemy for a short period of time didn't faze him, though it may not be entirely to his liking.

Summary:
A clan meeting was organised and held in the manor of Leo Tokugawa, the leader of the Tokugawa clan. It was a meeting that saw some development occurring with the clans of the Empire as various small clans made their debut on the political atmosphere of the realm. While some of the interactions didn't go that smoothly, it was overall a success.

Though maybe Mister Sarutobi had missed the memo. Though his words had a polite tone, the actual wording was less kind, much like how Shozo normally presented his insults to others. So eventually he decided to speak up, almost seeming more as an afterthought and very much unlike him. "Our Empress preaches that there can be no trust without honesty, Lord Sarutobi," he said, his eyes on the man. "So I suggest you and Lady Tamiyo voice their actual thoughts on this matter and be honest about them. Regardless, I will answer your questions in truth as if they were your honest words. Yes, I was aware. No, there is no need for celebration though it is a kind offer. I am not much a fan of cake." He inclined his head ever so slightly in a polite nod. "Even though I was aware, does not mean I necessarily condone Masami Nimatsu's actions. However, if it is unity we strife for then mistakes should be accepted and bad choices should be forgiven. Maybe they can be prevented in the future. Maybe unity will prevent them. And maybe unity and believe in each other might meant relations we never thought of fixing." He folded his hands over each other. "I extend my hand to any who is willing to reach out to me. To the Hanta and the smaller clans of Mister Omari and Lady Arkos. Amegakure has been a kind place to some of my clanmembers who wished a change in climate. It saddens me to see it struggle. I extend my hand to all, even the Hon and the Tokugawa despite our differences in the past, if it means that Konoha will remain standing as the city we wish it to be, in the nation we want it to be. Free from enemy invaders. As you all know, that has always been my priority."

Happy to see the same grizzled old Hon from the last meeting he had attended, Jora at first went to greet Kenta, but noticed the other man was speaking in another language. He had heard it before, but had never had the chance to ask about it. The curious side of him wanted to find out more about this interesting language, but Jora tucked it away for now. After all, drinks had been brought out! Admiring the deep red colouring, the Hyuzu clan leader felt a slight tug on his sleeve and glanced to his side. Elena gave him a look, gesturing subtly towards the drink in front of her. Realizing what she was getting at, Jora took a slight sip, savouring the flavour. Turning back to his wife, he shook his head very slightly, offering an apologetic shrug. Elena nodded and turned back to look around the room at all of the interesting looking people. Watching as they came in, she tried to remember who they all were. One man entered and made an effort to introduce the man they had passed by earlier. She felt slightly guilty that they had walked past him without saying anything, but another thought pushed away the guilt rather quickly. As the man in the dark clothes walked to his seat, she noticed the crest of the Uchiha sewn into the fabric. Chewing her lip for a moment, Elena wondered if it would be appropriate to ask him later where he got his hair done...

The meeting commenced and both Jora and Elena looked to Kiyomi as she started things off. The toast proved to be an awkward moment for Elena and she decided, after a moment's hesitation, to simply raise the glass and pretend to take a small sip. Setting it down, she folded her hands together in front of her and began to listen. As the clan leaders took their turns speaking, Jora listened carefully trying to keep track of everything. There were still several faces that he did not recognize. Though one in particular surprised him. Ferra Arkos, the leader of the Flying Lemurs was here. Despite the fact that it was a Godai team from Ame, Jora couldn't help but love to watch them. When she had walked in, his eyes widened and he almost moved to try and get an autograph. A sharp elbow to his ribs had put a slight damper on that plan, however, and he had promptly sat back down, nursing his wound. Drinking the Bloody Victory rather quickly as things became somewhat more tense in the room, Jora eventually finished the glass. Setting it down, he subtly reached over and grabbed Elena's glass, winking at her before taking a sip and setting it down in front of himself. Hearing the representative from the River country make mention that the Nimatsu clan had married someone from the Wind country caused Jora's eyebrow to raise ever so slightly, but he made no otherwise visible display. The issues with the Wind country were not something that escaped him, and he could feel the tension such news brought. However, he also remembered his own clan's... rather... troubled past and Jora thought it best not to comment. Hypocrisy was not something he was fond of.

Kiyomi, however, addressed the issue head on and Jora admired her willingness to call out the elephant in the room. Surely it would not sit too well with some of the representatives, but it was a point that needed to be addressed. If they could not be open and honest with one another, they could not hope to ever truly unite. Hoping that her words would ease the tension, Jora took another sip of the dark red liquid, noting that it was rather strong and he was drinking it perhaps a little quicker than he should. Especially on an empty stomach... After the Empress spoke, the Hanta representative took his turn and Jora nodded, a little relieved. It seemed things would move on now. That is when he heard his idol speak up and Jora turned excitedly to face Ferra. She spoke more than he had expected. More than she usually did at the few matches he had gone to watch. It was odd, seeing her here. All too suddenly would Jora realize that someone was staring at him. Glancing to his side, he saw Elena looking at him, an amused expression on her face. A slight smile touched his face as he turned away. Not long after Ferra finished speaking, Shozo Uchiha added his voice to the mix. He responded briefly to the comments of before, for a moment seeming like he was going to bring the conversation back to the same tension as before. However, Shozo soon changed to address the topic of unity, offering his hand out to the other clans. Jora noticed that the Uchiha's main concern, as always, seemed to revolve around Konoha and only Konoha. He could understand the man's loyalties but it still felt to Jora as if Shozo cared more about the place than the people in it.

"I do not know that we really have any quarrels currently, but I would be honoured to offer the same thing Lord Senju has. Though we have been closed off in the past, I would like to welcome any clan who wishes, the option to travel through our lands and to hold meeting there as a neutral ground of sorts." Thinking for a moment, he raised his glass slightly. "I must also say, I do find it thoroughly interesting to see another clan that claims smithing as a source of pride." Smiling towards Chu, Jora nodded his head. "I would very much enjoy working with you, Lord Omari to see what our clans could learn from each other." Though it was subtle, Jora placed slight emphasis on the word Lord, addressing the clan leader by his proper title. He had noticed Shozo's reference to Chu as mister and wondered if it had been intentional or not.

Souma watched the clanleaders voice their concerns and complaints about his lady's marriage to a messenger of the Wind Country. As they talked of the outrages their clans and the empire had suffered at the hands of the Wind Country he grew a slight smile, hidden in the corner of his mouth. Stories of how people lost loved ones at the hands of the Sand and how even they themselves had been abducted were told as if lady Masami was directly responsible. Allegations towards treachery abound! Yet all he could think of when atrocity after atrocity was stated were his own people sent to fight in the same war that had never returned, or that one night of fire and destruction when the Hon clan descended upon their village during a period of supposed peace. Each village, each country held its wolves, hidden amongst the sheep. Perhaps, it occured to Souma, some sheep were blind to the wolves hidden amongst their ranks.

Eventually the situated evolved far enough for the empress herself to return attention to the topic at hand, and the Hanta, Arkos and Uchiha leaders and representatives agreed, putting the previous topic to rest. Souma inclined his head towards Kiyomi and spoke. "I am in no place to discuss what made my lady decide to marry lady Misaki. I admit it was unconventional, but I am certain that lady Masami would love to discuss this with you, my empress." He said, looking around, gathering glances and reading reactions. "But yes. The Nimatsu have realized that the threat of the zealots is above regional concern. We extend our full cooperation into eradicating them. If it is of any help, lady Masami has instructed me to offer the aid of our fighters in localising and destroying them."

After Chu had settled down in his seat, Chu listened to a critique from one of the other clan heads of his offer almost immediately. It was a blow to his pride, but he was not stupid enough to raise an issue over it, after all he was the one who had failed to recognize what was truly important. Chu did also feel distinctly uncomfortable when the man called him "Lord Omari". He'd always thought of himself as "Chu" rather then as some sort of lord. Chu remained silent for all the talking that followed, not seeing a real reason to rise and talk again, and listening carefully to the other clan leaders and representatives. The matter that seemed to raise a small spat in the room however was not unification or the like, it was rather a marriage of one clan member to a native of the wind country. Chu himself didn't really see the issue with it, his clan had been relatively isolated from the events of the Great War, and perhaps it was also because Ame stayed out of the Great War that he didn't really care either, but either way Chu saw no reason why it was a problem. One could not control who they loved after all.

The Empress seemed to share his views, at least in part of it not truly being a pressing issue, as she quickly borught the matter to a close, making it clear it was not open for any more discussion. Ferra's words were the ones he could most understand on the topic of the Zealots. It was true, the zealots had hit Ame very hard, causing widespread chaos and damage to the city. However, once again perhaps due to his clan's isolation for most of his life, Chu simply couldn't understand the rift between the Ame and Konoha villages.

His thoughts continued along this line, part of him remembering what he had been taught, and the other halfway listening to the meeting. His thoughts were interrupted by Jora, as the man said he would be interested in working with him in the future, so that their two clans might benefit and learn from one another. To that Chu nodded and smiled politely, momentarily hesitating to register his distaste for the title of lord once more (He much prefered the "mister" then lord), before he responded to Jora. "Of course Lord Hyuzu, I believe such an interaction would be beneficial for both of our clans." Chu paused for a moment before continuing, this time addressing everyone at the table. "As I said earlier, we have little to offer in the terms of troops or gold, but if unity is far more beneficial, I believe that the Omari are relatively unknown and most certainly not involved with any quarrels with other clans. As such, as many others here have already offered, I too would like to say that the Omari grounds are open to meetings between clans." Chu, finished with speaking, then lapsed into silence once more.

Zakito had remained silent after his last words. Listening to what followed both disappointed, interested as made him content. The lord of the Omari clan showed his inexperience, thinking that the Empire would require resources and manpower. Before Zakito desired and decided to speak up, Leo Tokugawa corrected the younger clan leader. Much to Zakito's content, the Tokugawa understood what was meant. Sure, unity among the clans wouldn't be easy. There were a lot of boundries, but Zakito hadn't stated that he expected it to be a reality any time soon. Some more followed in, agreeing with his suggestion. Next to him, Kenta grumbled softly. His anger of before seemed to have cooled down somewhat, but Zakito wasn't truly certain if the man would either ignore or forget what they all had just heard. Zakito threw a glance towards Haruka Tamiyo. The young woman seemed quite calm and content with the current situation. Somewhere the leader of the Hons wondered if this was truly just an impulse, provoked by the answer of the Nimatsu representative. Deciding to push that thought to the back of his head, Zakito listened and paid attention to what more would follow. A person who did catch his attention was Ferra Arkos. She had seemed familiar but he hadn't been able to tell from what. Not that he was that knowledgeable about Godai. It was fun to watch it at times and he remembered merrier times when he had tried his own hand at it. He wondered for a moment if he could compete with the woman in a Godai match. Probably not, he mused amused, as he wasn't really that experienced and it had been literally a decade since he had tried to play it.

"If I could get a coin for every time that oaf mentions Konoha, we all would be bloody rich," Kenta mumbled underneath his breath, just audible enough for Zakito and Jora next to the old man. Though he had heard it, Zakito would again not react on it. While Shozo spoke as if Konoha was the only concern to him, he knew better. It took just time and knowledge to understand what the Uchiha meant. And while he wouldn't voice it, he did agree with Shozo. To a certain degree.
Briefly his attention shifted towards Jora, who interacted with the Omari leader. Change was already happening, that was for certain if the Hyuzu were opening up like that. Then the representative of the Nimatsu clan spoke up, beginning about bringing manpower into the fray. If that wasn't enough, the young lord of the Omari clan also began about resources. Earning just a sigh from Zakito as he briefly closed his right eye and rubbed his forehead. "It is good that we all agree on that unity is a requirment. A goal that we need to work towards. Not that it will be quite easy," Crossing his arms out front of his chest Zakito's gaze went towards Shozo. He spoke with a polite and yet stern tone, locking his sight on the Uchiha. "There are many things that will make it difficult. History, differences in culture, manners and values. Relations aren't just restored within a day. I am happy to hear that most, if not all, of you agree with my suggestion. Opening your own halls for talks is a start. I, however, wish to bring it to the next stage."

Letting his words fill the room Zakito paused, his gaze still locked on Shozo. "I wish to offer two things. First, Lord Uchiha," Zakito began, "Our clans aren't that close. Attempts have been made but none that were really close to mend the gap between our people. If it sounds attractive, I would like to offer you a heirloom of my family. This might not sound as good as opening my halls, but I consider you already welcome if you would deem it worthy to seek the comfort of my land. To," Zakito turned his attention now towards Souma Ueno, "I will be honest as most of us can agree that lies won't build a sturdy foundation for a healthy relation. I don't deem the relation between miss Masami Nimatsu with the 'messenger' of the Wind country healthy. For, however, the past conflict I would like to offer miss Nimatsu a part of my own hird. I will allow her to have thirty of my own elite bodyguard, ensuring her safety from any further attack as token of my regret and hope to see old wounds mend."

Ling bowed his head towards Kiyomi as she spoke, instructing that they had to move on. There was a moment that the Sarutobi was tempted to ask how much the Hanta trusted the Tokugawa, finding it quite ironic that the man spoke of trust but hadn't even toasted with them. Yet, he would hold his tongue. This wasn't the time and place to pick fights with everybody, Ling thought to himself. Further listening to what was being said, the Sarutobi pondered on something. His attention was drawn towards Shozo as the Uchiha would speak up. The same friendly smile as before dawned on Ling's lips. "Lord Uchiha, please but you misunderstood. I asked cause I value your opinion and input greatly. Am certain that I am not the only one who thinks like that. No offense was meant," the man said in a most friendly manner as he tilted his head slightly to the right. There was more that Ling wanted to say. That if the Empress would discuss with Masami Nimatsu the whole reasoning behind the rather absurd decision he would love to be there, but he would once more keep his tongue. Listening to Chu Omari, Ling couldn't help but pity the young man. This was the second time that the young man admitted that his clan wasn't of any use or help. Something Ling considered as a sign of weakness. Perhaps being honest, but below the behaviour of a true leader. The something happened that Ling couldn't have anticipate, at all. Turning his attention towards Zakito, the Sarutobi wouldn't hide his surprise and slight dislike. While he understood the man's desire for unity, the idea of gifting a heirloom to Shozo and providing thirty elite Hons as guards for that Nimatsu harlot was something that mentally stinged Ling. He managed to quickly recompose himself, not all too happy with the idea. There was a certain pressure now that he had to offer some kind of friendly offer as well. Yet, Ling would remain silent.

Shozo's eyes were almost immediately on Zakito as the man turned his attention towards him and spoke. Relations were not restored in one day, that must be the first words that Zakito Hon had ever said with which Shozo wholeheartedly agreed. There were many relations that had gotten strained over the years. And not only with the living. The corners of Shozo's mouth fell, but not in anger. A moment of silence fell when the Hon finished his words and concluded his offer towards both the Uchiha and the Nimatsu. The weight of words. Shozo didn't even turn his gaze to Ling when he offered an apology, instead remaining locked on Zakito Hon. Whatever the Sarutobi had to say, it was not interesting enough to hold his attention at the moment.

"I will accept your offer, Lord Hon," he said then slowly. "But only on one condition. I will ask you a question and I would like you to answer it." There was another short pause, a sudden tenseness in the silence that Shozo let linger in the room. When he spoke again, all that knew him from more than one glance, could hear something within the older man's voice that had never before been there during such formal meetings. Distress. All his life Shozo had spend preparing for the role as a diplomate. His father had personally instructed him how to behave in political spheres and the shell that that man gave him had never broken in public. Not once. But now there was a tiny crack. "I have a son," he said. "And once I lost him for two years because circumstances drove him away. When he came back, he and I made an agreement that he would at least notify me and my wife if he would be away long term. No specifics had to be given, just a notice. Good for the heart. I have not gotten any information like this recently, not even after inquiring myself. Yet, my son hasn't been in Konoha for quite some time. Weeks. His place to sleep is unslept, his wife inhabits his house alone. I wish to know, Zakito Hon," Shozo's eyes bored into Zakito's single one and for a moment it seemed like there was no one else in the room but them. "I would request to know where Hisoka Uchiha is."

As he listened to what Kiyomi had to say, it felt like time had stopped in its tracks. Sakamoto was murdered by a resident of the Wind country? Another person he was close to, a person who practically raised him, and he too was taken by those who took away his mother. It took him a few moments to readjust his compsure and get back to listening to everyone around. He heard Zakito's voice, which spoke to Shozo, about being honest the best he could. By the time Ling spoke, Gakuro had managed to put aside the emotions that rose due to what he has heard and put on the neutral face as before. When he heard Shozo request an answer from Zakito about the whereabouts of his son, the young Senju leader coughed twice "While I understand the importance of the question for you, Lord Uchiha, as I am sure everyone else around this table can, I recall our Empress requesting that we not linger on the topic of uniting the empire for too long, as there are more topics we need to discuss. Perhaps the question could be answered in another setting?" He suggested calmly, looking at Shozo "And like her majesty said, my hall doors are still open for any sort of discussions, regardless of who will come." He finished speaking, wondering if anyone will try to turn the conversation even further into matters that, while fitting the topic of unity between clans, perhaps did not entirely fit this table setting, as Shozo's tone suggested this was something more personal between him and Zakito.

After managing to put everybody more or less back on track, Kiyomi would very softly release a sigh. While still portraying a calm and friendly posture, she was getting a bit tired. The talk would continue and the teen found herself interested in learning more of the representatives and leaders of the smaller clans. What was their history? What kind of events had they experienced through the course of their clan's history and what kind of orientation did they have? Were their cultures vastly different from others? Similar in one or more ways to others? Questions that quickly raced through the teen's mind, but wouldn't be voiced. It wasn't the time to sate her curiousity. Not yet. Then as Zakito spoke, Kiyomi found herself surprised. Throwing a curious, sideways, look at the man, Kiyomi wondered what kind of heirloom he would grant towards Lord Uchiha. The offer of thirty elite warriors safeguarding Masami Nimatsu was something that really made Kiyomi waver. Wasn't that not a bit too much? The fact that they came from Zakito's own hird, meant that it was both a prestigious offer and quite the deal. She didn't feel that the Nimatsu had deserved something like that, but even if she was the Empress, it wasn't her choice. Wanting to take a sip of her drink, she could feel a pair of eyes boring into the back of her head. Katashi had likely noticed her right hand moving towards the glass. Once more the teen knew she could do it, as she was the empress, but it wouldn't be wise as the captain commander of the Sworn Sword wouldn't feel intimidated by the presence of nobility. Slightly disappointed Kiyomi folded her hands together, believing she could 'hear' the Sarutobi behind her smirk.
Then Shozo spoke, catching Kiyomi's attention. He accepted the gift, which made the teen smile, but on one condition. Answering where Hisoka was. The smile remained on Kiyomi's lips but she felt a mixture of feelings. Wary, cause only she and Zakito were aware where Hisoka was and what he was doing. Pity, cause she realized that Shozo was just worried - perhaps more than an observant person could notice. And confused, as she wasn't sure what to think of it. The man wasn't a favorite. He knew how to lead his clan and to present himself, but that didn't mean she liked him. He was snobby and arrogant in most cases, or so in her experience towards her.

" 'Mister' Senju," Kiyomi's tone gained a sharp edge as she spoke right after Gakuro had decided to suggest that Shozo and Zakito should take it into 'another setting'. Something that Kiyomi found most unsettling, certainly seeing that the man didn't even show a crack on hearing more information about the man responsible for his relatives prematurely death. "Lord Uchiha just accepted Lord Hon's suggestion and asked a question back. It is up to Lord Hon to answer that question or not. But glad to hear, once more, that your halls are open for 'any' sort of discussion." The jade colour in Kiyomi's eyes darkened once more as she raised her eyebrows, marking it clear that she would allow Shozo's question to be answered or not, depending on what Zakito would do.

Apparently the Nimatsu clan was to be offered a gift to appease relations between them and the Hon. A commendable initiative, Souma's political mind said, but also only the first step on a long way the part that still mourned for his father grumbled. He did not know what a hird was, but as soon as he heard the explanation his political mind began calculating different outcomes. He offered his elite, personal guard, or part of it at least, as a gift to help protect lady Masami? Was he aware that the populance would openly detest and fear them, that their safety might be hard to guarantee? He must have knowledge of this, Souma reasoned, so it had to be something else. Their presence might be a reminder of imperial might, or mean something far darker too. With such a sizeable force she would potentially appear - or become - a hostage of the Hon clan. Could it be such an ill-concealed move to pressure his lady? Or was he truly trying to mend relations? Souma was not blind to the potential benefits. Having both guards work in close cohesion, even if forced, would eventually lead to some kind of cooperation, and eventually friendship.

"As you all know I am but a representative of my lady," He began, winning time, gathering glances. Most were surprised or even shocked at Zakito's offer, supporting his hope that it was a genuine offer, free of lies and deceit as he claimed it to be. "... and I have been authority to make several decisions on this council. However, when presented with a gift of such nature, I must first consult with lady Masami on this. We cannot be outdone in this honour." Souma finally said, bowing his head in real gratitude and humble display.

The fact that Shozo accepted it made Zakito feel relieved. He wouldn't show it, but he felt grateful that the Uchiha was willing to accept the gesture. It was a step in the right direction as Zakito hoped that one day there wouldn't be any need of wary emotions between him and his people and that of Shozo and the Uchiha. Briefly the memory of Akio Uchiha drifted up in Zakito's mind. Followed by Hisoka. What would both of them say now? Approve of what he was attempting? He wondered even what Daisuke would have done or said. Probably starting to laugh and try to make a joke or two. But the train of thoughts was shattered as Zakito heard something in Shozo's voice. The tiny crack followed by the sentence made Zakito feel insecure. Not about what would follow. He was a father as well. As Shozo continued, he wasn't sure but probably for the first time in his life Zakito understood the other. It wasn't what he had hoped for but the mere thought of not seeing, hearing or knowing how Akimoto was doing for two full years. The mere thought shot cold shivers down the man's spine. Collecting himself, quite quickly, Zakito was about to answer. Gakuro Senju spoke up and earned a frown from Zakito. The man just received quite the troubling news and here he was stating that Shozo should ask the question in a different setting? The man that had begun that he had seen his mother being killed in front of him before accussing a young lady of asking a mere question? Kiyomi beated Zakito, paving way for the man to be able to answer.

Souma answered, to which Zakito just nodded in the man's direction. He didn't expect that the offer would be accepted. It wasn't just a gesture, but it wasn't up to him to decide if they would or wouldn't accept it. Focusing back on Shozo, Zakito would speak up. "Hisoka was sent with my best operatives towards some locations in- and outside of the realm," Zakito began, "Needing to present the Empire in some delicate matters. If you wish," Zakito continued, speaking on a calm and friendly manner, "I can see what I can do to get either some word or a letter from him, if you would appreciate that, Lord Uchiha."

Shozo slowly breathed out. "Lord Hon, I appreciate your attempt to keep the situation simple and stop anyone from panicking, we are talking about the Governor after all. But as I stated, I am aware that my son is not on a mission." His eyes narrowed. "Truth and honesty, it does still exist between me and my son and he has never failed in telling me about his departures. Unless this mission is so top secret that he has to keep it from even his kin, but then again... then it could and should not be mentioned here." For a moment his gaze shifted to Gakuro Senju who had apparently deemed his missing son a matter of small concern. Had the man ever been a father? "However, I would accept it if you promise to discuss this with me outside of the confounds of this room right after the end of this meeting."

"I can promise that, but I can't promise I can tell you everything," Zakito said, keeping the tone but hoping that Shozo wouldn't attempt to press on. To his side he didn't need to look to know that Kenta was frowning. Just knowing that the old man wasn't really comfortable with the entire idea, Zakito was happy that Kenta didn't say anything that would perhaps make the entire situation turn down south.

After Zakito's answer Kiyomi spoke again. She explained that it was best to take a few minutes break as servants would bring in food and some other refreshments. Some talk happened between the present people, though everybody was kept in the room to prevent that there would be any need to search or haul people back. Once more Kiyomi would clear her throat twice to herald that the clan meeting would continue. As the room became silent Kiyomi would start to speak. "Now that we have concluded the first topic of the meeting, I would like to move on. I hope, of course, that the first topic will lead to some developments that will unify our clans into a more cohesive realm. But I would like to request something now. Something that is perhaps a bit more... personal," a smile crossed the teen's lips as she waited for a moment.

"I think it is best to explain it before going directly towards the question. Some of you might know of it, but I am the jinchuriki of the Nibi. For some time, I have managed to establish a certain friendship with the Nibi." Kiyomi spoke on a calm pace as she was half expecting questions to rise up the moment she would be done with talking or people finding it strange. In fact, every time she thought that she could count on a bijuu as protector and friend made her wonder if she wasn't going mental. "In my last journey, I went with the Nibi towards a place. One with some information where I also encountered a text that is nothing alike ours. Nor that of Yakimara or Chonobi. Ever since then I have been trying to study this... old and probably forgotten tongue. I had some help, but the strangest thing is that I haven't been able to discover any clue, hint or word about a forgotten language. Now," the teen flashed this time a more apologetic smile, "I wager that some of you aren't interested in this. And I can understand that, but I would really appreciate it if you would try to find any clues or information about a lost language. With the threat of the Zealot and not to forget, the concerns we have every day, I can also understand if it won't be really an option to indulge into this matter but I am willing to extend some of my resources to find more about what I have decided to call Calarian." The teen would finish there, leaning slightly back to see who would respond at first.

Hearing the response of Kiyomi, Gakuro looked down towards the table. He had stepped out of line, another tell that his mind was clouded with angry thoughts while trying to maintain a proper face. As he listened to what Zakito and Shozo, he had spotted the frown from Zakito. At the end the two agreed to discuss it in private, which was much more appropriately brought up by one of them. When the Empress gave the signal for them to take a break, the young Senju leader remained in his seat, thinking in silence about his cousin and what he wouldn't do to get back the man who died alongside Sakamoto.

By the time the break was over, he felt slightly calmer, though now his expression would not be as neutral as before, but would show him being slightly more distracted. Hearing her majesty begin to speak, Gakuro perked up and looked at her, making sure to put his thoughts of Sakamoto aside as he paid attention to her. As she spoke of the Nibi and how she formed a friendship with it, the young Senju leader raised his eyebrows. Forming friendships with the beasts, that sounded similair to what their lore said. That the beasts were capable of an emotional connection, one which possibly existed with the Sage. As Kiyomi finished speaking, he thought about something "My mother and uncle both told me stories about their initiation. They told me the old Senju altars were heavily decorated, but not only to look well. They were heavily decorated with old languages, ones that even the elderly Senju that live today do not know. I can take a couple of aids with me and research those, and simultaneously try to find any books that may refer to older languages. Anything I will find that may be of use, I will check twice against existing, newer sources and bring forth, your majesty." He said, already thinking about which people among their very small community it would be best to approach for a job like this. If the Empress needed help with something that sounded so personal, Gakuro would not hesitate to help.

Teng remained silent. Patiently he watched and listened how the meeting continued on. The exchanges between Shozo Uchiha and Zakito Hon piqued Teng's interest. There was the brief thought of what would happen if the Hon and Uchiha would start to improve their relation. Teng's own personal opinion was that the Chonobi clans didn't need the likes of the Uchiha. Then again, his opinion wasn't one that mattered. And perhaps he was wrong. Maybe if the Hon and Uchiha could work out their differences it could lead to more prosperity for everybody? Teng smiled a bit as he would be happy to be surprised by a pleasant outcome. Briefly Teng did question silently if Gakuro Senju was doing well. His behaviour was a bit odd, but the Cho would keep that to himself. The small break was a most welcome one as Teng felt a bit hungry. Not that the break would last for long as Kiyomi began the second topic. One that was quite interesting. The young empress had discovered a lost language? One that was different from the dominant languages found in the Empire. As Gakuro spoke that his clan had altars that were decorated with old languages, Teng kept his opinion for himself. He wasn't sure what to take of Gakuro words after the last few exchanges. "If you would desire, your majesty," Teng started, "I will see if the Cho clan doesn't have anything that can aid you. Might I just ask, though, how the language is written or even sounds like?"

Tsuru continued her 'work'. It wasn't really troublesome. She just kept feding the information of her targets to the two that had requested her assistance. Somewhere Tsuru knew that she was too old for games. But did that mean she wasn't allowed to enjoy this snooping around in somebody's head? Daring to take another sip of her drink, Tsuru's eyebrows slightly raised upon hearing the last few exchanges. Some interesting developments started to pop up and she wondered what Shikamura Nara thought of them. Not that she would start to snoop in his mind. That would not be appreciated, she imagined. Not even by him. "I am most interested as well, your grace. If it is a forgotten language, it must have a source. Perhaps," Tsuru flashed a smile, "We could start a joint research operation between us all? In the spirit of unity, no?"

Shikamura Nara had remained silent for most of the meeting so far. It served him better to observe and take note than to speak up or draw attention to himself. The Nara clan was not one of the most major or influential clans and that suited him just fine. They made very few enemies this way and it had allowed his clan to interact with all others without suffering backlash for 'choosing a side.' It also meant they were not in the spotlight, something he knew most Nara wished to avoid. They worked better in the shadows.

When the meeting had first started, Shikamura had noticed the almost imperceptible shift in Tsuru after she clicked her tongue. For anyone else, it would have been next to impossible to have seen anything different, but Shikamura had been around the Yamanaka long enough to get an inkling as to what she was doing. It was smart, that was for certain. Not for the first time, Shikamura found himself envious of the Yamanaka. He was stuck getting his information the old fashioned way, by watching and reading body language, listening to the words, the tone... it was an imperfect science, that was certain. Even for someone as experienced in the practice as himself, Shikamura still wondered what it would be like to be able to peer into the thoughts of another directly. No more guessing, no room for error. Smiling, the Nara toasted with the others, taking small sips of the Tokugawa beverage. It was a thoroughly strong blend, one that could take effect quickly if you weren't careful. He had watched the others as they spoke, each offering something different, some understanding, some not. While he had felt like speaking to confirm his support for the Empress, Shikamura also knew it was a relatively moot point. The Nara had always performed their duty and had always done their best to remain unified with the other clans.

They would continue this moving forward. Now, it seemed, they would be joined by more clans. These were interesting times indeed. While he paid close attention to the discussions that had sparked up over the Nimatsu and the clear friction that had been caused, Shikamura made no outward display of interest. All comments, all reactions, were simply notes to be added to the collection. They had broken for food and, for a moment, Shikamura had been tempted to speak with Tsuru, to ask how she had been enjoying the meeting so far. He resisted the urge, however. If she was paying as close attention as he thought, it would not serve well to distract the Yamanaka. When they gathered again, Kiyomi started with a request this time. A truly interesting request. Stroking his goatee, Shikamura's curiosity was piqued. He listened to Gakuro and Teng as they both offered their support and was pleasantly surprised to hear Tsuru speak up beside him. Waiting until the Yamanaka had finished, Shikamura nodded. "Lady Tsuru's idea is a very good one. A project such as this does not require a vast amount of resources from any of us, yet it encourages a degree of collaboration and unity that many may not be all too familiar with." Pondering for a moment, he glanced around the room, looking at each of the clan representatives. "The Nara clan would be happy to assist with this request and, as Lady Tsuru so eloquently suggested, we would be more than willing to take part in a joint effort to see this task to completion."

She had been relieved to find that her words had not caused any further conflict, yet Ferra was not certain whether or not they had had any effect at all. Time would tell, she supposed, whether or not any of the clans would take her up on her offer. Realizing that this, in part, meant she would need to reach out to some of the clans herself caused Ferra to groan inwardly. It wasn't that she did not wish to speak with the other representatives, it was more that she was not great at the small talk. At building and maintaining relationships... Taking another large sip of her drink, Ferra wondered if she might be able to bring a bottle of this back to Ame with her. Or two... or three... It was certainly a potent drink, but the taste was rather unique and Ferra found herself enjoying it.

The meeting had continued and a few of the other representatives had spoken up, including her student. When Chu had spoken, Ferra watched the boy closely. It was clear he still had a fair bit to learn, but she wasn't perhaps the best one to judge in this case. Her own political experience was somewhere between zero and nill... Curious that Chu had invited some clans back to the Omari lands, Ferra wondered if it was the wisest move. She admittedly did not know a huge amount about the Omari clan but, from Chu's words, it had sounded like they were not fully united themselves. At least judging by what he had told her during their first meeting together. If the larger clans saw this, they might view it as a sign of weakness and, request for unity or not, they could take advantage of it for the future. Perhaps it was just the paranoid side of her...

The next large surprise was the Lord Commander, Zakito Hon, offering a gift to the Uchiha clan leader and the Nimatsu representative which, judging by the reaction from several of the present clan representatives, must have been fairly significant. That had sparked the Lord Commander and the leader of the Uchiha to move to a topic that she could tell was a little more personal than the others had been. While Ferra was not fully aware of the relationship between the Hon and the Uchiha, it did not take a genius to realize they had a past. She finished her second glass just before they broke for food. Remaining seated, Ferra had caught the attention of the same server from before, prompting him to bring her another refill. Nodding her thanks, she sipped at the drink and slowly ate the food that had been offered. It was quite tasty, but her nerves still made it difficult to stomach anything other than the liquor.

When the break was over and the food had been taken, Ferra waited for the next topic. As Kiyomi made her request clear, Ferra paused, momentarily confused. A dead language? It was interesting, certainly, but Ferra couldn't help but question whether or not this was really an appropriate request considering everything that was going on. Realizing something, she paused and stared at the Empress for a long moment. Perhaps it wasn't just what it appeared to be at face value. A task like this would take time and focus. For those who weren't actively able to participate in the fight against the zealots, perhaps this would give them something to take their mind off the situation at hand. Give them something to do, a purpose... It was a very smart move and it was impossible for Ferra to tell whether that was Kiyomi's intention or not. Hearing the two leaders beside her speak, Ferra glanced around before following suit. "I must admit that I do not know anything about such a language, nor am I aware of any of my clan members who might know more. That being said, I would also like to offer whatever support we can in this." Turning to look at the Yamanaka and the dark haired man beside her, she continued. "If you'll have us, the Arkos clan would like to take part in this task force also." Shikamura simply nodded and smiled warmly in response. Returning his nod, Ferra looked back around the room. Taking another sip from her drink, she felt her nerves beginning to fade ever so slightly.

Jora had been taking a sip from his drink when he heard Kenta's words. It had taken everything he had to not choke on his drink and, even so, Jora had to quickly adjust to hide the smile that threatened to spill out on his face. As he brought himself under control, he heard Zakito offering his two gifts. Curious, Jora glanced at the Lord Commander. It was a noble gesture and he found himself curious as to what this heirloom might be. Shozo reacted differently than he had first expected and Jora turned to look at the Uchiha clan leader. He studied the man carefully. From what little he had seen of Shozo, the man had always seemed to be very in control. Even now it was difficult to pick up, but something in his voice seemed off. He spoke of his son and Jora felt Elena tense up ever so slightly at his side. Glancing quickly towards her, he took her hand in his and smiled reassuringly. Turning back he watched the exchange between Zakito and Shozo, hoping that they would be able to resolve things. Unfortunately, however, his attention was entirely broken when food was mentioned.

They broke for food and refreshments and Jora quickly piled on the food, knocking back as much as he could in his famished state. Elena watched him, an amused expression on her face. "This is why we can't have nice things," she said to him quietly, her tone teasing. Jora smiled, realizing too late that there was still some food stuck in his teeth. Quickly closing his mouth, he glanced down, momentarily embarrassed. The hunger quickly took hold again, however, and he dove back into the food, the embarrassment forgotten. Elena laughed and went back to eating her own food. It was delicious and she quickly finished thanking the server that took away her plate. Jora regretfully parted with his own plate as Kiyomi converged them all once more.

Listening curiously as the Empress spoke about the language she had discovered, Jora scratched his chin and leaned back in his chair. He could feel his belt beginning to fight the losing battle and groaned quietly. Perhaps it had not been a great idea to eat so much... When the other clans began to pitch in, he tried to pay attention, the task becoming easier he felt the grumbling in his stomach beginning to settle. The suggestion of a joint operation was an interesting one, but Jora did not pay it much attention until he heard Ferra Arkos speak up, offering her support. Leaning forwards once more, he opened his mouth to voice his support but was cut off as Elena beat him to it. "I am certain that the Hyuzu clan will be more than happy to join in on such an operation. We have a fairly large library that dates quite far back. While I am not certain this will shed any light on the language you have uncovered, Empress Homura, it may help to provide some timeframe for when this language disappeared." Looking at Jora for a moment, she raised her eyebrow almost imperceptibly, a gesture he knew all too well. Turning back to Kiyomi, Elena continued. "We do also have certain other resources at hand that might be able to provide more information." Glancing back at Jora to make it clear that this is where he should speak up, Elena would then look around the room.

"Ah yes, the Elder Dragons." Jora said, grinning. "As I am sure you may know, well... actually you might not... anyway, Dragons can live for an exceptionally long time. As such, there are some who have knowledge of times long forgotten by the rest of us. The Elder Dragons, few as there are left, may have encountered this language that you speak of. They tend to prefer solitude, however we can make a request to speak with them and see where it goes from there. I am certain an exception could be made for the Empress, if you would like that is?" Directing the question towards Kiyomi, Jora realized he was providing more information to the present clan representatives than his clan had ever done before. The Elder Dragons had been a closely guarded secret before he had become the clan head. Wondering whether or not he should have instead kept quiet and approached Kiyomi in private, Jora glanced towards his glass. Perhaps he should not have started drinking so quickly...

As the talks started to get going Leo was one of the few leaders that decided to remain quiet, not out of having nothing to contribute. He was staying silent and scanning the room between sips of his drink. For example he saw the Arkos representative enjoying the drink provided a bit more than everyone else. It lead to one of ther server's whispering to him if they should cut her off, which he denied as it brought him join to see others enjoying the drink. He told them to keep refilling if they kept finishing. It also took a few moments to guess but from his observations on Elena and her not touching the drink at all. Knowing he had no bad ties that would prompt her to never touch the drink while her husband did. Well he put two and two together, having one of the servants start making some tea for her.

During is observations didn't mean he wasn't also paying attention, for example he heard what Haruka had said which caused him to hide his amusement with a sip of his drink, which would empty his cup causing it to be refilled. She asked a simple question while bringing up a rather sore topic that most wouldn't be a fan of. Some of those being in this very room, yet the way she said it wasn't in a accussing tone either. It was asked with curiosity, making it so that one couldn't very well just assume what she meant without taking some reputation damage. Even more so when Ling himself mentioned it asking if Shozo who spoke for the Nimatsu representative, knew about it. Stating they should celebrate with cake. A slight eyebrow raise from Leo at that statement as he got what was going on, but cake would still take a little bit to make. Sadly out of the food being made right now, cake wasn't one of them.

Yet the first to bite in these mind games being played would be Gakuro who voiced that they just spoke of unity and shouldn't be doing the opposite with accusing each other. Something Kiyomi herself said was just a question, no accussing could be found from it. Yet also made it clear in the current situation of unity that old wounds would be opened up again if they were to be honest with ecah other, so she made Haruka seem like she asked a simple question while an ill will would be understandable. This is why he swore loyalty to this woman she was very smart to be able to read out the situation and could save others from drowning or help push them further in.

Shozo was quick to counter attack though, which is what he knew their clan to do well. Answering the questions in a respectable manner and evene extending his hands out to the smaller clans and to the Hons and himself to hopefully get rid of their problems for the past. He chose to give the man a smile and a nod of his head, while really his clan had no problems with the Uchiha or the Hanta who seemed to despise him for what happened two hundred years ago. Yet if he were to voice that thought, then he were to look like a fool. As such he would continue oberserving and resisting the urge to groan at Chu mentioning resources once again even if it were to state they were open for unity.

Then came Zakito offering up a family heirloom which caught Leo's attention as he put all attention on Zakito and the words he spoke. A family Heirloom and a personal guard? That was a very thought out offer, not knowing what this heirloom was but Hon guards were another story. As he had his own, he knew that even just thirty of them would make sure you never even see danger in your lifetime. Something Shozo accepted on the exception information on Hisoka was given, and something the Nimatsu representative denied for now saying he could not accept such a thing. Yet Gakuro would try to stop an answer from being given stating Kiyomi told them not to dwell on the subject only for Kiyomi to speak back allowing the question to be answered as it was only fair. Which it was, and would also prompt their break.

With food being brought in along with other refreshments, with Elena being given a cup of sweet tea. Leo would enjoy the food presented to him and others before the meeting would resume, this time on a topic he himself would show some interest in. A new lanaguage, a lost one at that. One she requetsed aid in trying to figure out. "Don't we hav-" Mikoto started speaking in Chonobi before realising no one else even Leo would understand beside the Chonobi cultures. "Don't we have books on clans no longer exsisting? Maybe they might help?" Mikoto spoke softly mostly for Leo to hear.

He nodded and would voice himself after the last speaker finished. "The Tokugawa would be more than happy to lend any help we can in uncovering this Calarian. As such my people would more than enjoy doing a joint research with the other clans to uncover the language."

The break left Chu quite bored. He had neither eaten, nor drank the liquor that was available. His particular schedule of eating meant that he had his meal before this meeting, and so in the end he simply thanked the server who brought around the food but politely declined, apologizing for the trouble. When the break had ended though, Kiyomi mentioned several very important bits of information. One, she was a jinchuriki. Two, she had made friends with the beast she was bound to. Finally, she had come across a dead language, Calarian as she called it. Of those, Chu filed away the first two in his mind for later contemplation and focused on the third. For all of their pursuits in swordsmanship and farming, the Omari had precious little to offer in the form of academics. Chu decided quietly he would research the matter in the libraries of Ame, but rather then voice this, Chu remained silent, watching the proceedings. The Hyuzu, Cho, Senju, Arkos, and Tokugawa all offered to help research the topic, and it was at this time that Chu decided it would be best to pick up the cup he had in front of him and take a small drink of the liquid inside. What better way to hide one's silence then through drinking from a cup.

Overall, Chu found himself wondering if this meeting was to approach more important matters, or if he had sacrificed time and money to travel here for nothing more then to simply speak of topics such as unity between clans and dead languages, with the former seeming a bit like common sense. Even as Chu remained silent and watched the going ons at this table, he was smart enough and diligent enough to notice the internal rivalries between the other larger clan heads. Bad blood certainly, pasts that could not remain the past, something along those lines. Perhaps that was the purpose of the Empress in this particular request, to make sure that all the clans were getting along and playing nicely. It was thoughts like this that made Chu quite uncomfortable at meetings like this though. Too much went on in the background, was implied in body language and tone, subtly hinted at through words. His inexperience in these matters showed as well, he was certain, though it didn't help that no Omari head in the history of his entire clan had ever found themselves in this same position. It made him wonder if he should have brought an elder with him to advise him on certain topics. With a mental sigh Chu simply took another drink of the cup he had, resolving to be far more silent in the course of the rest of this meeting.

Zakito enjoyed some of the refreshments. He took some of the food and drink, showing proper respect to the Tokugawa, who had prepared such nice food. Kenta also joined in, quite eager. The old man did watch how much he would drink, most likely reserving that to drink more after the meeting. The two Hons briefly engaged into a conversation, using Chonobi and keeping their voices a bit down. Kenta was rather curious what heirloom Zakito wanted to grant to Shozo. Reassuring the old man of what it would be, Zakito wasn't yet save from the man's questions. He brought up the fact that Zakito wanted to send some of his own guard to protect somebody that was beneath them. The discussion went on for a bit until the meeting continued. Kiyomi brought up the next topic and Zakito remained silent. He was aware of her studies on the language she had dubbed as 'Calarian'. It had been most interesting on how she was tackling the problem, with the help of the Nibi. The more curious thing was on how others were replying. The request seemed as a rather trivial one. One to make the clans get nice and cooperative with each other. If they only knew what kind of design was behind the request, people would think a bit more about the request. Crossing his arms, Zakito noticed something. Something that Kenta decided to voice on a rather calm tone.

"Your grace, you have the support of the Hon. Think that is rather pointless to add now, but," Kenta shifted his gaze from Kiyomi towards one of the other people at the table. "Mister Omari," the man said, "I have a question for you. I have noticed that you haven't joined in eating the food of Lord Tokugawa," the man gestured briefly to the man at the head of the table, "How are the Omari formalities when it comes down to accepting or treating a host's food or drink?" The man's right eyebrow raised slightly, waiting for an answer. Zakito, briefly threw a glance towards his Logmathr. But he would opt to remain silent.

The meeting continued on and Haruka was just paying attention. As she was educated, it was at times better to listen and try to learn from how others approached matters. During the break she was already considering what could follow. Trying some of the food and drink, Haruka made certain to drink too much. Just enough to make certain she got a taste as well prevent to be disrespectful. Even giving a word of praise towards one of the servants. The meeting then continued, to which Haruka listened what the next topic would be. She was a bit surprised when the empress began about a forgotten language. It was interesting but Haruka wasn't certain at first how to respond. Some people voiced their support, but the one that caught Haruka's attention was the woman next to the Hyuzu clan leader. She wasn't completely certain who she was but wondered if after the meeting she could speak with the Hyuzu. Deciding to put that in the back of her head Haruka would speak up. "I would very much participate myself in this research, if you would have my help your grace." Briefly the Tamiyo glanced at her right, wondering if a certain person could even bring up to join this research project. Then again, she thought as she lifted up her glass to take a small sip, some people were quite keen on mentioning their resources.

Chu's particular denial of the food and drink offered at the break was apparently noticed by a Hon. Chu, still quietly sitting and listening to the other clan heads and representatives, was addressed by Kenta, and the man had asked him what the Omari formalities on accepting a host's food or drink were. Chu looked to the man, and replied, careful to wait until the previous speaker was done, not wishing to remain silent. "The Omari have no such formalities. We eat when we need to. I was unaware we would be served food during the meeting, and I ate before I came. I apologize if it seems rude, but it is simply the way we live. That being said, we do find it polite to thank those who prepare the food and those who serve it regardless. The same holds for drink, with some exceptions." It was admittedly an odd custom, but it was the Omari custom nonetheless.

The next person to speak was Kenta Hon which caught his full attention as the old man always found a way to humor him. Yet what came out of his mouth was basically what he himself was thinking as well. He asked the Omari if their formalities prevented the man from eating and drinking with the rest, which would be answered right after Haruka voiced her willingness to support the project. He stated he was unaware they would be eating here as such he ate before he left. Saying the same for drinks in some exceptions. This was when Leo spoke up causing Mikoto to cover her mouth making it look like an itch but really she was hiding a smile. "Oh? I must admit I am quite curious as to this exception Mister Omari. After all its quite a curiosity that during a break you didn't eat nor drink, yet when the discussions resumed you started drinking again." Leo stated putting his full attention on Chu now, deciding to opt along with Kenta in the title of Mister.

Following the break, Makoto listened quietly to the explanation of their next topic. Listening as she spoke about the beast inside and it being her friend, the Hanta briefly wondered if one could truly consider such a beast a friend. Pushing those thoughts to the side, the man listened to the rest of her words. A forgotten language? No doubt his daughters would be interested investigating something of the sort, and it might do well to have a hand in this... project. Deciding that the Hanta, like the others who have spoken before him, would lend their aid. Before he could speak up to offer his clan's assistance, however, the old Hon decided to speak up beforehand. Calling out the Omari representative for his actions during the break, something that showed his inexperience in such situations. Even Makoto had eaten, but either way it wasn't his issue in the end.

Looking towards Kiyomi, the man spoke calmly. "The Hanta would be honored to assist in learning more about this Calarian. We will look forward to working with our fellows on this." He said, then fell silent once more. Now content to watch the reaction of the Omari representative, the man being less than impressed by the youth.

Chu repressed the urge to frown at the Lord's persistance in the matter of the Omari's customs of consuming food and drink, instead chosing to smile cheerfully at Lord Tokugawa as he questioned just what the exception to the Omari custom was. Chu replied in an equally cheerful manner. "One of our few exceptions to the custom is if someone, particularly the host, were to try and poison us. Thankfully I have no need to worry about such a threat in the safety of your hall Lord Tokugawa, and can drink to quench my thirst at intervals instead. For that and for providing the drink I offer my thanks, and my apologies if such a custom offends you. If Chu's luck were to hold, the man would stop pursuing the matter and Chu could continue to watch the meeting peacefully and in silence.

The Ueno head thought of the lady empress' next question while he nipped from a cup of tea. An ancient, unknown language? That was not necessarily a strong suit of his he had to admit. His sudden and new duties were far too demanding to allow such an interest. As the rest spoke he ordered his thoughts and enjoyed the food until conversation threatened to derail on topic of the meal itself. "My empress, I cannot give you any guarantees, but as you know we pride ourselves on our long history of refuge and safety. Mayhap there are those in our valley who still posess clues to this puzzle. I shall ask around, pull a few strings. If I learn anything of the sort, I will have word sent to you. It is all I can do." Souma said, rubbing his small beard.

It was too easy, Kiyomi thought to herself as she let people reply. It wasn't that they would suspect anything of her. Why would she plot and plan, anyways? What did she know of tightening grip and influence over people? The jade coloured eyes of the empress moved her gaze from speaker to speaker, calmly waiting while listening to the interactions. There were comments that made her content as other comments that just caused her to frown. Such as the Omari, literally stating that there was a fear that Leo Tokugawa might try to poison him or anybody. What kind of custom was that? If anything, this just added further that this young man clearly wasn't educated properly enough on how to carry himself or represent his clan during important meetings. Realising that the words could very well insult and anger Leo Tokugawa, Kiyomi clapped her hands, attempting to gather the attention towards her. "Good! First, I like to thank you for your cooperation. It warms my heart to know that I can count on the clans of the realm," her attention went towards Teng Cho, "I can provide you later on how Calarian sounds and what I am able to write. Must admit that I am not fully certain if I am able to represent it very well, but trying won't hurt, will it?" A smile accompanied the pause after her reply as her attention then moved towards Tsuru Yamanaka and Shikamura Nara. "Oh, that is very well thought of you Lady Yamanaka. If it would honor and please you and Lord Nara, I would like to later dub you two as the organisers of the collective resources we will gather for this project." Jora Hyuzu's comment, however, hadn't missed Kiyomi's attention either as she would reply back to the lord of the Hyuzu clan. "I would very much like that, Lord Hyuzu. Am more than interested to speak of this after the meeting,"

Taking a pause she would continue on speaking. "Some of you might be aware that construction is going on in Konohagakure. With my civic council I have decided some time ago that it would be a good project to build a large complex. One that would serve as a house of knowledge, an university where great minds can come together. As much as my request for additional help with uncovering the Calarian language, I would very much like it if you all would consider to later aid the first university of the realm. Other than that, another great complex is under construction. One that will function as a trading hub within the capital. One that will also be able to show and reveal history and culture of not just one or two clans, but the entire clans of the Empire. Depending on its success, I am hoping to expand and further this idea into the capitals of the provinces. Those who wish to invest and cooperate with these complexes are more than free to talk to me later about it or send me ideas whenever they have one," Kiyomi added. With that having said she considered it done regarding the previous topic. Hopefully, it also had distracted Leo Tokugawa enough to react on the naive, and in Kiyomi's opinion rather stupifying, comment of Chu Omari.

"The next subject I wish to bring before you all is rather a question. Regardless of the size and importance of your clan, the Imperial laws count for all. Even for those such as me, carrying the importance of being the ruler of the Empire. One of the laws is that every person in the Empire older than fourteen years is to exercise in martial arts, for at least four hours in a week under the supervision. Some traditions among the clans are quite similar or perhaps instill a longer time on its members, which is fine. I, however, wish to know if everybody is able to expand this in some areas. What I am hoping is to soon start recruitment centers, that will be focusing on training and specialising troops in various roles. While I certainly could implenent this without any of your consent, I am hoping that you good folk can perhaps give me some ideas or insperation on how you wish to either aid or let this work in your clan. Of course, I must add that these centers will train and equip the trainees in the style of the Imperial Akinian military. My goal isn't just to create a larger military or reserve, but from what I have experienced is that coheshion and understanding can from military service. The detachments trained in the centers will be serving and stationed in areas other than their clan lands, allowing them to learn and understand the region in which they are stationed. Once they go back home, either having resigned from service or being stationed back for some time, their kin can learn of their experience. Hopefully, creating a better understanding between each other."

Everyone had been talking, Shozo had been silent. He was carefully considering the words of the Hon and was thinking ahead to their upcoming conversation. The Hon had lied, that much was clear, but the question was now, why had he lied? Was it to protect his son or was it to protect himself? What was Hisoka doing that had the Hon lie in his face before all the faces of the clans? Or maybe the Hon didn't now the answer either. If that was the case then something had to be done. As he considered all this, he let the conversation about a dead old language pass, feeling no need to reply to this babble. He wasn't interested in this old language. He knew his archives and didn't think there was anything in there that this girl could use not to mention she had no business there in the first place. Some history was for the Uchiha to keep to themselves.

But Shozo didn't feel the need to share, however, when the Empress announced her new topic and Shozo paused. More recruitment, more supposed cohesion by sending troops away to foreign lands. Was that for more understanding between clans or simply because the new Empress didn't wish for clans to build their own large private armies? Shozo cleared his throat. "If I may," he started before anyone else could jump in on the discussion. He continued regardless of affirmation given.

"Regardless of Imperial Law or not, those able to be trained in arms have always been trained in arms in the Uchiha lands. We have seen enough to know the importance of this basic skill in times of war and in times of peace for peace tends to lead to conflict. If Your Grace wishes to build recruiment centers in my land then she could potentially go ahead though I would advice against building things without consent. This tends to not sit well with the people. With regards to the purposefully restationing of people in different lands instead of their own, I would ask what the purpose is if they are solely trained in a specific Akinian style. Soldiers training for a specific role will no doubt spend most of their time training with their peers since the role they are trained in is so specific. If no Uchiha are allowed to train this specific role in the Uchiha lands, then for those soldiers to get into contact with the new culture is going to be problematic because they will stay with their respective peers most of the time. Training warrants no time to go out vacationing. Training means training which means hard work, long days and short nights which need to be spend sleeping. If these are short periods of time this counts even doubly so because they need to learn specific sets of skills within short periods of time. By not being around peers that are from Uchiha origin, it might be very different to get a grip on the new society and be introduced to it. It will be easier to stay with those you know or with those with whom you can speak the same language. As such I would suggest that some people of the original culture should be allowed into these specialized programs even if they remain in their own borders. This will probably urge people to actually spend time with peers from the new culture and from the culture across the borders, thus potentially forming the cohesion that you strife for."

Tsuru had just listened. Both to the ongoing conversation as to the thoughts she was snooping in. Bringing the information over she had to admit. It was more fun than she had anticipated. Glancing at her drink, Tsuru decided to take one more small sip to not look disrespectful. Even though the history behind what was called 'Bloody Victory' wasn't perhaps the most magnanimous that she could recall but it was still part of the Tokugawa history and culture. Besides, most seemed to have forgiven the Wind country, so why not forgive what happened during the Warring Clans era if a conflict not even longer than three decades ago had happened? Pitiful, Tsuru thought to herself as she wondered how long this would continue on. She wasn't getting tired of the meeting because of the topics. It were interesting ones but the climate and present elements started to wear down her patience. The Empress brought up a new topic and one that piqued Tsuru's interest. Even if her people weren't really excited or motivated for militant achievements or carreers, Tsuru did recognise the importance of it. Leaning forward Tsuru listened as Shozo began. The man had some points but there was some doubt with Tsuru if the man had ever been trained and served in the military. Outside of Konohagakure, that was. Not that she could testify that she had served on any frontline. Her militant experience had a very different origin. One that wasn't really proper to discuss in company as the one she was in right now.

"I agree with Lord Uchiha, on some points," Tsuru said in a friendly tone, flashing a smile towards the Uchiha that sat across the table from her, "But I do think that Lord Uchiha forgot that troops will patrol and need to interact with locals. Where some cultures might have a different language, I imagine that will be much of a problem as there is only a little group present in the realm that doesn't share the language we are using right now, I imagine. However," her pale blue eyes shifted her gaze towards Kiyomi, "I think it might be a good addition to your idea, your Grace, to perhaps have guides and certain educated locals provide some insight on the locals and their tradition. This addition to the plan of her Grace will ease some tension and smooth some minor problems out. As for the problem with kin staying close, I imagine that we can easily arrange a solution for that. Isn't it the case with the Imperial military that people from all kind of clans and cultures are working together to form an united front against our enemy? With given time and proper guidement, I wager that it will work just fine. We already have somebody who has more than enough experience in dealing with and keeping different clans and cultures together." Tsuru flashed a smile this time towards Zakito Hon before she would lean back, an evident signal she had said what she wanted.

Haruka had listened. Trying to learn as she caught herself slightly amused at the Omari clan leader. He did try and yet he was making a mess to represent his clan. It made her wonder it could be that they hadn't send somebody who was tactful. Or know that it was pretty messed up to begin about poison when another person inquired why they hadn't taste or drank any of the offered food. In the young woman's mind, she figured that if the Tokugawa wanted somebody dead that they could easily do so when the person or group would head back. Just in the countryside, laying in wait and taking their target or targets out. Much easier than to poison or attempt to take somebody out with a lot of witnesses. Her attention shifted towards the empress as she spoke up. Not really a person who was educated in the art of war or knew much about the military, it didn't take much to get the idea of the suggestion. She wanted to state that her family would be honored to provide support. But then again, they all were oath-bound to support the realm. Deciding to just wait for a moment, another person did speak up.

"Your grace," Kenta spoke up as he picked up his drink, his eyes lowered to eye the surface. It was clear that the old man was pretty fond of the drink named 'Bloody Victory'. "Where I understand this idea of trying to create unity through allowing troops to be trained and gain a... taste of other cultures and what clan's they are in," the man paused for a second, "And taken Lady Yamanaka's good suggestion into consideration, might I add that it would be best to still allow those who reign in your generous name to accept how much troops from all the other regions will be stationed? As much as this can be new and exciting for recruits, some regions in the Empire aren't used to 'foreign' folk. Best to not spook them with allowing a large patrol of what they will consider strangers around or into their home."

The Omari... kid, was certainly not doing much to help the reputation of both his clan and himself. After stating a fear that the Tokugawa would posion one of them earlier, something Makoto was willing to wager was not the case, he then seemed to try to explain his reaction away as a custom. The Hanta now found himself wondering if the clans of the Rain were overly fond of the Omari if they had this strange custom. He certainly wouldn't have been very pleased with the words coming from this boy's mouth. Either way, the old man turned his attention away from the Omari to listen to the next ideas and the opinions of others on the subject. Cetainly an university sounded like a good idea, altough Makoto wouldn't offer assistance in building the complex quite yet. He had the matter of rebuilding the walls around Seijou first.

The idea presented about forming recruitment centers, and trying to expose some to other cultures within the empire, grabbed Makoto's attention. Cohesion was something that he definitely believed would be beneficial to the empire. Being from a clan that had originally formed from three separate tribes, Makoto knew how an idea similar to what the empress was putting before them could prove to be rather beneficial. Listening to the suggestions put forth by the others, Makoto nodded a bit in agreement. "I find myself in agreement with the suggestions thus far." The man said, looking towards the others around the table. "Perhaps trying to have those training the recruits at these centers be from the lands which they are in would be beneficial, your Grace. Then the trainers can educate the recruits in both the skills required for the military, and the traditions of the lands they are in." He said before once more falling silent. Admittedly, the Hanta was a bit curious to see how this idea would play out in the long run.

The Empress' suggestion to have himself and Tsuru head the task force caused Shikamura a moment of surprise before smiled and nodded. It would be interesting, that much was certain. While he wasn't overly fond of taking on more responsibilty than he already had, Shikamura looked forward to the prospect of working with the Yamanaka once again. If they could get the clans to work together towards one common goal, perhaps they could bridge some of the gaps that had formed over the years. Glancing towards the other clan representatives, Shikamura's mind was already at work thinking what resources could be pulled from where. Interesting indeed...

Kiyomi's next suggestion intrigued the Nara as well. Training centres that took recruits and placed them in a different area was a concept he was familiar with. It had a lot of potential positives, none the least the potential to encourage collaboration and a sharing of culture between the clans. At the end of the day, it really didn't matter where specifically the recruits were placed, so long as they were not in their native land, they would benefit. Shikamura listened to how some of the other clans reacted, not entirely surprised, but hopeful that they would open their eyes and, ideally, their minds to the option. "The Nara clan would be happy to support such an initiative and we would also be willing to open some of our lands to host a training centre, if that is at all desired."

"I am certain the Senju will be willing to support this idea however they can." Gakuro said after listening to everyone else that spoke so far "But if I may bring up a suggestion of my own, one that relates to the military as well, or at least, those who lost their lives serving in our empire's military." His tone wasn't as neutral as before, but sounded somewhat more serious than before "All the clans around this table lost people throughout the brief life of the empire, and unfortunately, we can all agree this will continue for some time. What I wish to suggest is a global day, for all the empire." He said and paused, looking around briefly.

"A memorial day for the Empire's military. One in which we take some time and remember those who lost protecting and serving us, to help ensure our safety. I am more than certain all of the clans have days in which they remember their lost ones, but what I suggest goes beyond the clans. It may seem odd for me to suggest such a thing in this room, but if you choose to support a day in which we do not only remember our own clan losses, but the empire's losses, it will make it simpler to have the rest of the empire understand what it is about. This idea not only goes together as another possible part to bringing the clans together, but it can serve as bringing the entire empire closer. But, at the same time, there could be the question of how we will remember the deceased. If one way is better than another." Gakuro moved his gaze around the table, taking a brief moment to look at everyone "A part of my suggestion includes that we do not have any one specific way. Everyone will be able to remember the deceased in their own way. This will not only open up this day for everyone to participate in, but allow each other to possibly get to know the traditions of the other clans, or clanless families, when it comes to memorials."

Moving to look at Kiyomi, he focused his gaze on her "If you consider this to be an incredibly rude action on my behalf, than I apologize. It was the different topics that were discussed today that brought this thought to me." He said and then finished speaking, waiting to hear what the others thought about his suggestion, while hoping Kiyomi would not scold him again for his action.

"I thank those who gave their feedback," Kiyomi started, almost cautious but yet upholding a friendly tone, "It is already a step in the good direction that nobody seems to be against the idea. Of course, I will keep your feedback in mind before I will issue it to happen." Her attention now went towards Gakuro as she briefly thought about what the man had said. She found it interesting but was doubtful, due to various facts. It was tempting to glance or 'request' Lady Yamanaka on what Kenta and Shozo were thinking but Kiyomi would lean back and gesture that the group could begin speaking about the suggestion of Gakuro Senju.

A memorial day? Haruka slightly frowned upon hearing the sudden suggestion. She wasn't really finding it a super odd day. Many clans and regions had their own way to remember as paying respect to their death. Leaning slightly backwards, she did opt to remain out of it. It wasn't that she was against the idea but she wasn't sure how to respond on it. The leader of the Senju most certainly had good intensions with his suggestion but to make the entire empire follow a tradition that was just aimed at the Empire? It wouldn't be something that would just be accepted. And her thoughts would become words spoken by another.

"Your suggestion is one that I can find worthy of praise, Lord Senju," Zakito began, "But I can't condone it. Many people have their own way or own memorial day. While the idea to create more cohesion, I don't see why most would follow a tradition that isn't their own. We all sworn to be loyal to the Empire. But that doesn't mean that a tradition just aimed at the empire will become reality. If anything, I perhaps value the fact that there are many and diverse ways of respecting the fallen and deceased. Traditions which has been kept and followed for centuries, if not ages." The Hon would briefly pause as he folded his hands together, "And even if you would state that this tradition would be not changing any of the form or way how some remember and pay homage to their death, a date wouldn't be practical. Certain dates are picked by clans and others for a specific reason. And some don't even have a date but follow other ways to not forget their death or ancestors."

"Enjoying" the talk about the training centers Teng would slightly raise his left eyebrow as Gakuro Senju spoke up, again. He began to suggest some kind of memorial day. While it would sound nice to share a day to honour the death, Teng couldn't see how it would work. Zakito spoke up and pretty much voiced what Teng thought. With the lord of the Hon clan speaking, Teng would just lean slightly back and remain silenced. He doubted that he would be wrong if it was correct to assume that Zakito could speak for the entire Chonobi culture regarding the suggestion.

"I agree with Lord Hon," Tsuru Yamanaka spoke up after Zakito, "Perhaps some clans are quite militant, I can't say so about my own. While there are enough of my clan in the military, many more don't consider a military career prestigious. Praising thus a soldier for doing his job would raise the question why they would need the praise. Now, don't get me wrong, I am glad that we have brave people defending us but in the Yamanaka clan the focus isn't specialised or much near that of the military. A day invoked by the government focused on the military might... not be taken in a good way by some of my kin and clan." Hoping that would explain enough Tsuru waited a moment before leaning a bit backwards to see if anybody else had something to say.

"I must also agree with Lord Hon" Leo spoke as he had his hands folded in front of him on the table. "As it was said, the idea is a thoughtful one, but also an uneeded one as some clans might not take to it very well, then the others already have a day for such an occassion. Mine would fall in the latter, so it would most likely confuse and annoy them to celebrate it once only to then celebrate it again. A thoughtful proposition, just one I don't see working out very well in the future." Leo said adding a bit of his own opinion onto what was already said by Zakito and Tsuru.

It was somewhat strange for Shozo to be in agreement with the rest and not with Lord Senju. He had learned early on that his opinions on how to keep his clan moving forward often were opposed by those who wished to do the same for their clan. He didn't care if people didn't agree with him though. Such was the nature of politics. If they all got along the world would never have looked like this. But now he found himself on the side against the Senju who had suggested a memorial day. An Empire wide memorial day. The sentiment was nice, Shozo guessed, but he for one was not willing to share the day that belonged to his ancestors with others. There was something inherently personal about worshipping the dead. It was one of the few things Shozo kept close to his clan members. That day was not for outsides, it was for those who had died for the clan. The other days the Uchiha cherished were open to visitors mostly. Except for the Initiation maybe. But the dead were not to be remembered by those who did not know them, who did not have ties to them.

In the end Shozo spoke: "I will put my word behind that of Lord Hon. This day will not work between the many beliefs this realm has. In this case, I am not willing to share mine for the benefit of all. The dead are personal, let them stay that way."

As the room was growing a bit silent after Shozo spoke. Leo would proceed to stand up to show he had to something to say. "Apologies your grace, as what I am about to say doesn't really concern everyone. Yet Lord Uchiha I must speak to you. " Leo stated looking over at Shozo as he sat down once all attention would be on them. "I know that the trust between our two clans is.... strained to say the least, yet here you are in lands you probably don't wish to be. I thank you for that and as such I wish to make amends and start building trust between our two clans. You as well Lord Hanta." Nodding his head towards Makoto before looking back at Shozo. "As such Lord Uchiha, to start building that trust up. I would like to offer an arranged marriage between our two clans. My eldest daughter Yue Tokugawa, to one of your own clan members. What do you say?" Leo said folding his hands as he gave an honest smile towards Shozo.

A surprising offer, that was all that crossed Shozo's mind as he listened to the words Leo spoke. A marriage with the Tokugawa, a connection between their clans, that could prove... interesting. Now that he considered it more, that certainly could be beneficial. Sure, the Tokugawa were not the one's he would consider as a first option to marry someone from the inner branch of his clan. The history between them was messy and there was not much trust. Shozo looked at Kenta Hon for a second out of the corner of his eyes.

"I would accept that generous offer, Lord Tokugawa," Shozo said, inclining his head. "I, unfortunately, cannot offer you my son's hand though I would have gladly done so. I can however find a suitable canditate from the Uchiha Inner Branch to offer in return. I hope that this will be acceptable."

He smiled and gave a nod of his head, "Yes that is an acceptable offer." Leo spoke looking around the room. "Again my apologies for taking up time with that." he said as he would raise his glass and take a sip of its content.

Gyuki,
The Eight-Tails.
Eastern Continent | Wolf Country, near the coast.

Gyuki growled. He was aware that Midori wanted him to continue but he wasn't certain how she was expecting him to do that. All he could do was try to intimidate or just try to distract Isobu. Something that wouldn't be effective when Isobu would figure or try out if Gyuki would try to execute his threat. Hearing Isobu replying back, confused, Gyuki gritted his teeth. He didn't enjoy this and while he had done it to aid Midori, wasn't Isobu his kin? Perhaps they weren't brothers as humans could be when being birthed from the same mother, Bijuu weren't humans. So that logic didn't really work in the same way perhaps, yet they were still brothers. They were both Bijuu.

"That is because, this isn't the right time," Gyuki sneered at Isobu. "What do you think will happen if you take over that human right now? We are at unknown ground and they got an army nearby! Retreat and wait for my word or else I will consider to ground you to the abyss we are cursed to suffer!"

The booming voice of Gyuki would have no problem to sound confident and, hopefully, threatening to his fellow Bijuu. It would make him uncomfortable, to the point that it would radiate to Midori as he couldn't focus on putting up the ruse and hiding it from his host.

"You best hurry. The moment he figures that I can't do anything without your consent, you're going to be near a rampaging vessel. Not certain if you like that idea but I am not going to strike down my own brother. You'll find yourself on your own, Sato," Gyuki would reply back to Midori, meaning every word. He had perhaps sunken quite deep and crossed various rules of his own, he wouldn't strike at Isobu. In a way, this wasn't still his fight to be had.

Ryo Katsu,
Shockwave.

Ghost ANBU operative | Wolf Country, near the coast though he would rather be away! Far away!

Ryo watched as there was only one enemy left standing. "Tch," he narrowed his eyes as he was conflicted. He had helped out Midori and her team. That was already crossing one line. Now he had to decide to stick around and see if they could bring over the information or not. The problem was: it was Midori's team. And he wasn't an expert on the feminine sex but he doubted that Midori would take it well if she would recognise his voice. The death couldn't talk, after all.

Watching how the members of Midori's team went to cover the body Ryo saw that the remaining enemy had taken care of Midori's Ink Clone. Surprisingly, however, the Ink clone didn't just form into harmless ink but covered the woman in ink. It was blinding the woman. A perfect chance to see if ink would burn well. Forming handsignals Ryo would take a deep breath in. Taking a step forwards as he exhaled, a small ball of fire would be spit towards the remaining enemy. The woman had registered that she was in danger as the nearby flames diminish the sound of the incoming threat, heading her way. A scream pierced the air as the ball of fire hit the woman in the side, the flames starting to consumed and spread in a rapid pace all over the woman. Soon the air would be filled with the stink of burned hair, flesh and ink. Thus the end of most threats.

The only remaining threat now was the other jinchuriki. Taking in the features of the girl, Ryo clicked his tongue. It would be quite fortunate to know who she was as he had no knowledge of that the Lightning country had more jinchuriki. Classified information like that was quite valuable. Taking a step back Ryo weighted his decision. Turning half around he nodded towards the direction of the team as he would attempt to get out. He had done his job, he figured. But even so, he felt a heavy weight in his stomach as he attempted to make his way out of the situation.

[fieldbox=Riding out - Part 2, chocolate]
Wolf Country, out in the fields at a distance from the camps.

A collab between Lesli and Gerontis.

Summary:
A relative short collab in which Koike rides to the aid of Saki and her Tiger Claws. However, he arrives too late to be of aid as the Tiger Claws have decimated their opponents. With the enemy taken out, the Hon and Yamanaka take the time to examine the weird canine mounts of the fallen enemy as what they could do to counter them, before returning with haste to the camp.

[spoili]
They couldn't ride as fast as he wanted. Tracking the scent and tracks of the Tiger Claws wasn't easy, even with the help of the large dire wolf, Akumu. Each second that passed Koike was aware that he could have prevented a Tiger Claw or Saki to fall in battle. Eventually, they were able to pick the pace as the tracks started to become more clear. The only problem was that the tracks of the Tiger Claws were splitting apart into two groups. Something that Koike didn't want to commit with the fifty riders he had with him. Taking the chance he would lead the group to follow one of the two directions, hoping that it wouldn't lead him just further away from Saki.

The group would ride out of the light vegetation and onto a plain field. Spotting instantly the scene to his right Koike would slow down the horse he was riding. For a second he gazed upon the scenery in front of him and the fifty riders. Tiger Claws were lifting corpses from the ground and placing them on a heap. Spurring his mount to approach the situation, the dark brown eyes of Koike were searching for the likes of Saki. The Tiger Claws had already seen the group and nodded as a few of them started to exchange words with the riders that were led by Koike. From what Koike could faintly register, it was friendly interactions. Dismounting as one of the Tiger Claws would offer to hold the mount of the Hon, the young man looked around. The ground was watered with blood and from the looks of it, there were no Tiger Claws present among the fallen. There were enough blood and mud stains on the Tiger claws to make it evident that they had fought up and close with the enemy.

"You're late."

Saki stood while using a piece of torn off cloth to clean her blade. She had put her helmet off but it was clear that the helmet hadn't prevented blood and mud splashing against her face. "A nasty lot, these guys," Saki said with a calm voice, kicking a corpse in front of her with her left boot, "But not really a challenge. Think you would have grown bored." A grin would cross her lips by her last words.

Relieved to hear and see Saki being fine, Koike glanced at the corpse. "Still better than just waiting, I guess. Did you lose anybody?" Koike asked, leaning his left hand on the pommel of his sword. He noticed that they had rounded up a few captives and still no fallen Tiger Claws.

Saki shook her head, sheathing her blade back into her scabbard after dropping the bloody piece of cloth. "No. A few light wounded but luckily our armour managed to do the good work. That and these guys weren't that well trained. They seemed more like a pack of scared nancies. Their mounts, however," the grin at Saki's lips vanished as she beckoned Koike to follow her, "They were a lot more dangerous than their riders. Lucky for us, their capability is hampered by their riders. I already had some people look at it and it isn't like a dire wolf, yet I would like your opinion on them." Guiding Koike to another heap of corpses Saki gestured to it.

He was glad that they were properly armoured. Though hearing the weird news about the mounts of the enemy, Koike frowned. Following Saki, he continued to listen to her. Only finding himself staring at the pile of carcases that were familiar and yet strange. Kneeling close to a corpse of the canine mount, he could instantly spot various differences with them and a dire wolf. Throwing a look at Akumu, the large black dire wolf just stood there, not looking interested at all with the current situation. Compared to the beasts that the Tiger claws had taken down, they were slimmer and looking agiler than Akumu. Their heads were smaller and from what he could examine, their fangs also being smaller. Yet they were strong enough to carry an adult man on their back and function as a mount. "These aren't dire wolves indeed. Nor any kind of wolf or canine I am familiar with," Koike stated as he continued to examine the unknown, dead creature.

"Is there perhaps a sort of dire wolf species that split off or something?" Saki asked, throwing a look at the companion of Koike. There was something beautiful to the dire wolf. How it stood there, proud and tall, with its almost obsidian coloured fur and yellow eyes, as small coloured gems. But a good look at the muscles and fangs would say enough about the ability of the beast to take down a larger prey with force. Duion was easily larger than Akumu and was a force to reckon with if he wanted to kill but she doubted that he would be able to get the upper hand when facing Akumu. A cold shiver went down Saki's spine when she saw how the black beast stared at her for a moment, making eye contact.

"No, not from what I am aware. From what I always learned is that dire wolves are cousins from the grey wolves but there hasn't been any population found in other places than the woods and highlands of the Sarutobi and Hon clans," was Koike's answer. Yet he couldn't state that he was fully convinced that these creatures could perhaps be some kind of relatives. Straightening his back as he would get up from kneeling, Koike frowned. He noticed that the Tiger claws started to burn the bodies. A horrible stench would move through the air, causing Koike's nose to wrinkle. He did understand why they did it, though. "I suggest we head back. With the prisoners, we have perhaps some source of information."

"Yes and no," Saki stated. She didn't like the stench but it was required. Reading the mind of the recently deceased wasn't an effective or reliable form of information extraction but still an option. In case the enemy was capable of doing so, Saki wanted to prevent any information from leaking into the hands of their enemy. "We should head back but I already tried to check their minds. I need more time to be certain what I can extract from them. The major problem is that they speak a language that I never heard before. I will need some more time before we can consider them as a source of information. Time," Saki's expression hardened, "That we might not have."

"Fair enough," Koike said as he would mount the horse he had ridden on his way to the point. Steering the animal, he threw a look at the pile of corpses that started to burn, fire devouring the carcases. "Let's make way." He said as just then snow would start to fall from the grey blanket of clouds.

Reign in the Beast!!

Anger and fear coursed through her, feeling like sparks of lightning. The monster that had taken control was ignoring her, causing her anger to flare even more. The sudden voice that seemed to boom through her mind caused Reyna to freeze, the fear and confusion beginning to take over. The bijuu's reaction did not make sense to her, not at first. The beast seemed just as confused as she was and almost sounded... hurt?

When the turtle monster finally responded to her demands for it to stop, Reyna recoiled. The beast had lashed out, the bewilderment clear in his raspy turtle voice. Opening her mouth to snap back, Reyna stopped. The booming voice had continued once more, threatening the turtle. For a moment, Reyna wondered if those threats would hold true to her as well. Would she also be crushed into the eternal abyss?

The turtle monster had grown momentarily silent, something that was unfamiliar to Reyna. Usually the beast was rambling about something or another, going off on his crazy rants. Deciding to take advantage of the bijuu's temporary silence, Reyna spoke, the anger in her voice slightly abated. "You're right... I asked for your help because I am weak and I'm scared. I do not want to die. But your help is not... help. It is evil. You want to hurt people. I can feel it." Reyna wasn't sure if the turtle was listening. Truth be told, she didn't really care. She needed to say it. "You don't care who you hurt and I can't trust you. These people. They are my friends. You cannot hurt them. I won't let you." Reyna raised her voice, determination helping to keep the quivering at bay. "This is my body so give it back! I don't want your help if you're going to try and hurt every one of my friends whenever I ask!"

"And if you want to know why your 'brother' is mad at you, maybe it's because you want to smush Midori-sama! She just happens to be his host so if you smush her, you'd be smushing him too! Stupid monster..."

Her fists were clenched at her sides and Reyna's stubbornness was blocking out her fear, for now... Hoping against hope that the beast would listen this time, that he would give her back control without a fight, she chewed her lip. Please...

[fieldbox="Aya Oda Genin Team 14, royalblue, solid"]

Another day went by in which she debated in asking if Saiken would know anything about what may be going on, yet she always ended up sleeping on it as she didn't quite trust that the six tails would be honest or try to trick her into releasing him like last time. So she mainly spent the time waiting for sensei to call upon them by either keeping her kenjutsu in acceptable performance. or by doing some chores around the house. She was pretty much taken in by the kindness of the man's heart, the least she could do was help out and make sure everything was in order. Then came the day sensei requested their arrival at the team field. She wasn't sure if this was about the disappearing corpses, yet if it was this time if she found one, she was taking it with her. Even if rumors spread about her.

Taking off in a sprint towards the training field, she ended up having to take the long way around as the market place was very busy today. Making traveling through it in a hurry next to impossible. However as she arrived at the field she hesitated a bit when she saw sensei and two strangers. Freezy wasn't here, and one of the new comers had this big sword practically dragging on the ground. Aya bite her lip hoping he wouldn't try and talk sword with her just cause she had an appropriate sized one for someone her height. Walking up two the three she would bow before sensei, while casting a side glance at her new teammates. One of which seemed familiar, yet he seemed rather bland and boring.[/fieldbox]

Masami Hyuuga
Konohagakure Chuunin
Team 9

" That hill over there should provide us with the best view. "

She announced her idea and turned towards it promptly, as did the rest of her group. Masami was leading a small squad tasked with reconnaissance. They were on the mission for two or three hours now, with one very short break. She was confident that the new lookout spot she just identified will help them a great deal in completing their mission.

It was nothing short of finding a place where the rest of their comrades could move. She knew everybody was doing his or hers best, so the same was expected from her. And she was determined not to fail. " Looks like we will be there shortly. I want everyone to stay sharp - report anything you find unusual immediately! "

" Yes, Masami-sama! "

She was not used to called in such a honorable way by so many people at once. But it gave her confidence - they trusted her to lead them, and she trusted them to do their very best. " Good! We might already be in enemy territory. We will slow down due to traps and other nasty things that could lie in wait for us! I have utmost faith in our group and our comrades depend on us as well. "

" Do our best, Guardians! "

[fieldbox=A start, royalblue]
Mika Hayashi.
Jounin-sensei of Team 14 | Republic of the Water Country | Kirigakure, training field #5.

The first to arrive was Taishiro Kanai. He didn't seem to have enjoyed much of a night rest but then again, Mika didn't really bother with that. All that was required was that he would be able to what she would order him and the others to do. If he wasn't fit or capable then it was simple: he wouldn't be allowed to participate in what she had planned out. The boy asked if he was the first to arrive, only earning a simple gesture of Mika to take a look around. The concealed face and features of the woman meant that he wouldn't likely be able to gauge how 'silly' she found that question. It wasn't as if he was born without eyes.

Then another guy arrived. The new genin on the team. Eyeing what seemed to be the main weapon of choice, the rather large sword, Mika said or thought nothing. It was an interesting pick for a weapon. Hopefully, he knew when to swing with it and not to hit allies with it. Just nodding to the new genin, Mika wasn't entirely interested in the boy. It was for various reasons. Genin came and went these days. Either dying on missions or resigning from active service, incapable of dealing with the stress and responsibility that came with it. Or they were discharged. She was wondering for a moment if this genin would be able to endure what could be thrown into his direction.

Aya then arrived, just offering a bow and remaining silent. Mika shot her a look but remained silent. Out of all people present, she could understand Aya's silence or distant attitude. Not because of her own but Mika hoped that the girl could press on further. Not to mention that she was the adopted daughter of Hiro Akiyama. While Hiro Akiyama was perhaps dead and already buried, that didn't mean that Aya could play a role in luring out the Suzu insurgents out of hiding. Not that she would inform the genin of that nor would they begin with that plan today.

"Now that everybody is here, we are going to start," Mika began, her voice having a rather cold tone, "Seeing how the last couple of missions went, you can notice that Shin isn't here. People who make dumb mistakes will pay the penalty for them. And I don't care if you're just a genin or the grandmother or father of some rich snobbish family or whatever you can conjure," the jounin continued. She would take a bit of distance with the genin and spread her arms out, before speaking up.

"Test is going to be simple. You three will need to not only find me but also try to either pin me down or incapacitate me. Know it is a bit unrealistic to ask a genin to take on a jounin, but you guys are with three. And I am alone. You have three hours." With the instruction giving, Mika would continue to keep walking backwards, her arms spread wide open as if she was welcoming them to try an attack.

Teacher and Student Drinking Tea
A Collab between Zane and Fieryfly

Summary:

Mitsunari invites Sho to come and have a cup of tea with him. They talk about Sho's jail time, the fight with the Uchiha, and other things. Mitsunari offers Sho a job as his personal assistent and offers to train him later.

[spoili]

Having met with Yone and made an appointment to help ease her into combat situations, he would first have to meet with another of his pupils. One that might be more hard headed than Yone, as such he made sure that they would be meeting at his favorite establishment, The Relaxing Dragon. A little tea shop that always seemed to have customers in it, despite it's small size. The reason for inviting Sho here instead of the training field. Yone was reasonable and would have been a quick conversations. Sho was a bit.... headstrong to say the least, to say this would go perfectly would be almost impossible. Hence being in a place where acting up would be frowned upon, now to see if he would even behave in public. Mitsunari sitting at his table would sip his sweet tea, hoping Sho would have gotten his letter and would show up. It would be a pain having to hunt him down.

Sho had gotten the letter. He had stared at it for a bit and had wondered if he should go or not. Meeting at a thea house sounded boring. Besides the last tea house he had been in - though it was more a library than a tea house - had been destroyed. That still left a bitter taste in his mouth. Despite not admitting it to anyone he had kind of liked the place. It had been a good work space. In the end he had decided to answer his sensei's call and begrudgingly made his way to this establishment called the Relaxing Dragon. He had never been in there, had never felt the need to, but it look decent from the outside he guessed. He stuffed the letter back in his pocket and pushed the door open.

There was not much room inside and it was busy. It took Sho a moment or two to spot Mitsunari sitting at one of the tables, sipping tea. He let his eyes go over the other customers first before stepping towards his sensei. He didn't seem to know anyone else in here, that was good. With confident strides he walked over to Mitsunari's table and sat down on the chair opposing the man. "I'm here. What do you want?"

The man of the hour showed up with a rather confident stride, it almost surprised Mitsunari as they might have a respectful conversation. Then Sho opened his mouth asking in a blunt way what he wanted. Mitsunari stared at him taking one more sip from his tea before placing the cup on the table. Folding his hands and placing them in front of him on the table as well, he would look at Sho and give him a rather unamused look. It annoyed him slightly that Sho was acting like nothing bad had happened when in reality being in jail several times wasn't a good thing to see in reports.

"Well since you want to get right down to it..." Mitsunari said unfolding his hands and now just staring Sho dead in his eyes. "Who started the fight. You? The Hyuuga leader? That Uchiha child?" Was Mitsunari's first question, before he would continue on before Sho could wise crack him back. "If they started it then why retaliate? If you started it then why react back to such easy provokes?? I don't know if it has ever been drilled into your head, but going to jail multiple times in a short span of time. Doesn't look good to anyone. You see Sho, I do want to take you, Yone, and Kona on a mission. Yet if you three are more likely to kill or go to jail, makes it a bit hard to think you guys can handle anything above a D ranked mission."

At least Sho appreciated that Mitsunari came to the point immediately. He had figured that his teacher wanted to inquire about the fight, jail, and all that, and so the man did. And somehow it was upsetting. He knew that going to jail didn't look good on his record, he knew! But the first time was not his fault! Frustrated Sho dipped his head and stared at the wood of the table. "I started," he said. He wasn't going to lie about that. He didn't lie. "I provoked the Uchiha. I know him. Or well, I beat him once in the Rice Capital. Those random matches you could do, he was there. I challenged him and he lost like a little whimp." He paused for a moment. "I assume he remembered that when I called out to the Uchiha on the streets before. But I threw the first thing." He kept his eyes on the wood.

"So maybe that time it was justified or maybe the Uchiha should not so easily be provoked, but that first time... I did not deserve to go to jail for that! I still have the scars on my back!" He pulled on his shirt as if he was about to show Mitsunari, but decided against it. They had hurt for a long time, those things. He could still feel it. He looked up into his teacher's eyes. "I went in to help people, and instead I got bad rep. How is that fair for me? I tried to help!"

Hearing the truth come out of his mouth caused a small smile to form on Mitsunari's face. He honestly expected more attitude out of his young pupil. Instead he manned up and took responsiblity. Then he would continue to talk causing his smile to fade into a more neutral one as he listened to Sho speak of the first time he went to jail being unfair. How he went in to save others and got a bed reputation for it in the end. Mitsunari remained silent as he tried giving Sho a reassuring smile, knowing it probably didn't amount to nothing.

"Well I appreciate your honesty, I really do. I also appreciate you telling me how you are feeling and you are correct Sho, it isn't fair. Sure it was very rash and stupid to just rush in. Yet in the end your mind had a good cause and thats what matters in the end. No matter what you do, people will always disagree with you for something you did. You could have saved the Empress and others would find some fault in that. It's an unfair world we live in, yet my advice on that is simple. Why care what the onlookers think? They are onlookers because they don't have the courage to do what we do, or what the soldiers do. They rather think their word means everything while we are the ones getting injured. So fuck them. I say they can think and say whatever they want, yet until they do what we do. Its nothing more than words from sheep."

Mitsunari gave his words of advice to Sho before he rubbed the back of his head. "You know you do surprise me sometimes. I came here today thinking this would be like prying information from a kleptomaniac. Yet you chose to be honest with me and for that I thank you. So I'll be honest with you, I personally didn't care who started the fight. You could have just tackled him out of nowhere and I still would shrug my shoulders. You guys have to learn one way or another. Anyway how are you holding up?" Mitsunari said as a waiter came over to see if Sho wanted anything to drink, which Mitsunari gave Sho a look to go ahead it was on him.

Sho narrowed his eyes at Mitsunari's sudden niceness. Sure, he had spoken the truth and had not bitched too much about it, but for Mitsunari to suddenly be thanking him... It felt strange. He ordered the sweetest tea the menu had to offer. It was free shit, he wasn't going to pass on that. "I don't give a fuck about the onlookers, but I give a fuck about my rep. If you won't take me on higher missions than D rank because I was in jail, then helping people just freaking messed up my whole life. So that is great."

The waiter came with the tea and Sho dumped two large spoons of sugar into the hot water. He rapidly stirred the mixture as if it would calm his frustration. It didn't.

"And I am fine," he said forcefully. "Some lady bailed me out of prison which was great, I guess, because I didn't have any freaking money myself. And then my other job went up in smoke. But who cares, right?"

Hearing him bring up the D ranked mission bit cause him to chuckle a bit. "Relax Sho that was more so to get you to admit the truth, although the first team mission will be a tame one. Won't be D though. Afterall I have to see how well you guys do together before deciding if you can handle a B rank. Yone afterall is still nervous when it comes to combat."

When his sweet tea arrived, he instantly added more sugar to the liquid then began stirring it at a rapid pace which only made Mitsunari raise an eyebrow when Sho proclaimed that he was fine. He also explained some lady bailed him out and that his other job went up in smoke, followed by a who cares.

"Fine huh? Try not to break the cup there." he mentioned clearly picking up that he was indeed not fine. "I was going to ask about that as well, but turns out I get reports on that as well. Yet do you want another job?"

"Then she has to man the fuck up. I've been forced to hang out with weakass Genin who can't do anything for way too long now," Sho threw back. He dropped his spoon next to the cup and watched the liquid swirl for a moment. He was half surprised that Mitsunari actually got a report about him and the Tea House slash Library. But then again, it seems like everyone was keeping tabs on him as of late. As if suddenly he couldn't be trusted. Maybe that was because of the whole jail thing too. Freaking jail. "Of course, I want another job," he said, looking at Mitsunari as if he was crazy. "We haven't gone on a mission in forever and I need to make money somehow. Can't live on air. Nor do I have a fancy house or something like you have. Must be nice, being so freaking rich."

"You've been on dangerous mission before, give her some credit. Shes trying at least." he stiffled a laugh at Sho sounding like he was crazy for even asking such a question. Somehow trying to taunt himself a bit. To this Mitsunari gave a shrug before responding. "Well to be fair, I don't like failure. So rather not risk it if I know the odds one of you guys are likely to stab each other is higher than the fail rate. And you would be surprised at my wealth. The Riojin clan isn't a large clan, it's small at best. So saying I'm wealthy is kind of grasping at straws. Now if I was the Tokugawa or Cho clan, then yeah I'd be rich. Yet if you want a job then what do you want?"

"One that makes money," Sho deadpanned. "I don't care what it is as long as it makes good money and doesn't involve something really stupid." He decided to take a big gulp of his tea now that it had cooled down a bit. The sweetness sticked to his tongue and palate. It was pretty good. "And I am not going to stab my teammembers. I am pretty sure I am not allowed to go on missions alone yet, which sucks, so stabbing them... why would I do that? That would work against me. But that doesn't mean I have to like those weaklings."

"Again grasping at straw there, most jobs have something about them that's really stupid. Yet if you want a job, then I am in need of an assistant. Basically doing little tasks, that I may not have time for. And only way that job plummets is if the entire clan plummets. Also I kind of figured you wouldn't actually stab your team members. It was more so a figure of speech. Bicker is more likely. Yet I will get us a mission. Afterall can't know for sure how it will go until I throw you head first into it."

Of course he was grasping at straws. What else was he supposed to do? He knew damn well that if people knew he had been in jail two times they would think twice about hiring him. So it would be best for him if he secured a job before any of that became known.

Or Mitsunari could offer him a job, like he just did. That was... unexpected and Sho's first reaction was to decline. He didn't need a job because someone was pitying him, which was exactly what it felt like here. He didn't want anyone's pity. It didn't get him anything. But, the honest thing was, that he did need a job and doing little tasks didn't sound too bad.

"Little tasks like what? Fill in your paperwork?" he said, trying to sound like he hadn't already decided that he kind of wanted the job.

He couldn't help but snicker at what Sho had said. He couldn't really picture Sho doing such a thing."Sorry I didn't mean any offense to that. Yet I'll leave paperwork to myself thank you. Mostly heavy lifting though. Moving stuff to the proper rooms and what not. Keeping updated on how our supplies are. Simple assistant crap really. Last one I had really couldn't keep up nor did much of carrying around fifty and above pounds. Only time you would be doing any paperwork is writing down numbers and delivering important papers."

That didn't sound too bad. It actually sounded pretty good, but jumping on it like that might make it seem like he appreciated that Mitsunari was offering this to him. So he pretended to think about it for a moment by downing more tea. "Your previous assissant must have sucked then," he said after he finished his cup. "But sure, that doesn't sound half bad. Could help me out in the long run too, especially since you now have another fancy job as Jounin Commander. Will you even have time to train your team?"

"Well he certainly wasn't good." Mitsunari would reply not being able to deny in Sho's words, that his previous assistant sucked. Yet Sho would then accept his offer which made him smile before he was asked another question on if he could even train his team. "Well I'm training Yone to be more collected when it comes to combat, so I can hopefully take you guys on a mission soon. Did you want to request a training session? Just yourself? With the team? Specific training you have in mind? So to answer your question, yes I will still have time. Just means people will have to accept the fact I'll be away every now and then."

He didn't fancy requesting anything because that almost made it sound like hew as asking for help, and he didn't like asking for help. "I mean... I guess. Maybe. I am still trying to get stronger and as my assigned teacher, I am supposed to come to you for that shit." He didn't sound overly enthousiastic about that. "I was more wondering if you even had time, not requesting anything specific..." He did like the sound of going on a mission soon. Maybe one that didn't suck. Maybe one that would actually have him learn something for a change. Getting experience, that was what it was all about not? And it would be good to get out of the city for a change. He didn't mind the rain, but the houses and streets could be stifling.

So anything is basically the jist of that, well that was a start atleast. "Yeah I can make time to teach you. Might start out with Genjutsu. You need a course on how to pick up on it. Remember before the city started burning, when you put me in the water prison, then all of a sudden I'm no longer in it and time seemed to go back a bit? That was a genjutsu. Yet when do you want this training session? Before the mission? After?"

Oh yeah, he remembered that. Genjutsu, there was something both inherently annoying and inherently interesting about it. Annoying because he had totally figured he had managed to catch Mitsunari that one time, but had failed miserably and had probably looked really stupid doing it. Interesting because if you could make your enemies look stupid... well that was pretty fun and useful. "As soon as possible?" he said, somewhat confused by the question. Could he request trainingtimes now? He wasn't aware that that had ever been a possibility. His previous teachers had done nothing of the sort. "I don't know. Depends on when the mission is, I guess. As soon as you have time...?"

"I only ask so I can arrange time among my schedule, but sure I will tell you later when I can do it. Actually since you would be working for me, I could just drag you away for a bit to train. So I pretty much got what I wanted to ask you about out. Anything you want to ask me? If not then I will see you at ten in the morning tomorrow."

"No, I'm good," Sho said, pushing his seat back. The prospect of having a job again was actually pretty nice and he was half way happy about it. The prospect of actually getting some training done was even better. "Ten tomorrow," he repeated before getting up. He shot Mitsunari a last look and then turned around, walking away from the man who was so suddenly and surprisingly nice to him.

"An impossible task?"
Matsui, Hisahiro | Team 14 Genin | Kirigakure

When the last genin joined them, Hiro was pleased to note that she seemed like somebody he could talk to. In a group with a sensei who wears a mask that was always nice. Maybe they could even be friends.

Sensei's comments about the person that Hiro assumed that he must be the replacement for certainly gave him pause. Of course he knew that being a ninja was dangerous work, and if you weren't careful you could be a danger to both yourself and your teammates, but to be reminded that someone else had failed in his role certainly made the task that much more intimidating.

Sensei had really laid down the gauntlet here. This task would require all of Hiro's tactics and cunning to overcome... Hopefully someone else had a plan. He had his own guess as to who was the second in command, but it never paid to assume (you might offend someone.).

"Team huddle?" he offered. It was only the beginning of the three hours, but the task could easily take all day, and Hiro already feeling the time tick away. He knew that they would need to work as a team to overcome sensei, and Hiro was not eager to get embarassed in 1 on 1 combat.

"My name is Hisahiro Matsui. I specialize in close quarters combat and I know a few healing techniques. You two look like you know each other, but I have only just met you. Could you introduce yourselves to me?"

Kaya Irozaki
| Genin | Kumogakure Team 13 | Near the beach, Wolf country.|

Her heart was skipping beats on an irregular rhythm. While always considering herself capable of holding herself firm in nasty situations, Kaya had to take hold of herself - in a mental way - to not listen to her instincts to run as fast and far as she could. For a moment the world started to turn black and Kaya wasn't sure if she could bear the amount of stress, mixed emotions and the desperate attempt to hold herself standing. A shiver moved through her entire body from her back as somebody moved against it. A hand moved against her hand, which felt unnaturally warm against her cold sweaty hand. Was it death that came to collect her? The mind of the genin was going rampant as she closed her eyes, ready to accept what was to happen.

"You're okay." Midori said, causing Kaya to open her eyes and turn her head to throw a look over her shoulder. "I am getting this under control. The corpse.Get it, and get out of here. Away from the fire, away from Reyna. Check on Yumeji if you can. I'll be right behind you."

Kaya nodded even though she was certain that Midori's focus was on Reyna. Starting to move it was as if her body was as light as feather, fueled by the desire to move as fast and far she could from the two jinchuriki. Yumeji already had taken a position to prepare herself against the stranger. Biting her lower lip Kaya came to a skidding halt at the corpse, which was their target. The stranger, however, started to move away. Why? Kaya stared at the mud covered person until a thought hit her.

Who knew that Reyna was a jinchuriki?

The question was perhaps not a most complex one but it made Kaya realise something. If this stranger had now learned that Reyna was a jinchuriki, wouldn't that be dangerous information? Midori was a renowned jinchuriki but Reyna? Not so much. Grabbing a few shuriken from her pouch, Kaya threw as good and hard as she could towards the stranger.

"Midori!" Kaya called out as the thought that had started with a question, started to develop in her mind. If this person would report to any source what Reyna was then that could mean that others would attempt to abduct her.
