...Guys I just realised we don't have a healer.

We're doing this HARD MODE.
"Yeah yeah, Chuck Norris or whatever. Did I tell you about the Wilborough Helpers Association?"

We will be healed through the combined forces of determination, friendship, and healing potions.

Whew! Excuse the late reply, I hope it'll suffice ;_; Also does the highlighting of your character's names help at all or am I just being picky about my formatting?

I find it useful. I probably still need to take time getting into the full cast, but seeing each and every one separated as you have, helps quite a bit. Besides, it's not like it's a problem.

Ah good, it's no problem highlighting them, and seeing it helps a little then I'll keep it up - it takes no time at all anyway!

Also, @Mippu I haven't heard anything, I'm sure it's fine though. If there was an issue, I think @Ythania would go snooping around for answers anyway.

I heard JK Rowling was going to write a spin-off series which is based off the Wilborough Helpers. Somehow Harry Potter and the list of non-magical chores didn't sell too well.

Is it okay if I just leave Mishy asleep? I mean, I can post a new IC tonight but I was just wondering... My internet connection is still a bit crappy so I'm having trouble posting and stuff. But I'll try to post tonight if the answer's no. I'll work something out :)

@DANAsaur I think the only issue is missing Hogsmeade, of course if you want her to remain asleep I'll have Emily leave due to being short on time

I don't want Mishy to miss Hogsmeade but my internet connection is unstable. Uuuugh what should I do? >_< This is so stressful :'(

I can write Mishy into my post. A bleary eyed sleepy Mishy getting ushered out of her room by Dorothy. Don't worry! I just need your permission first. Do I have it?

I have two requests. One - A character list. I still get the amount of characters mixed up. Two - Harry Potter universe stuff. I could use a good summary.

Sure, I could go find both myself, but it'll be a bit stressful compared to my current situation. Thanks in advance!

There's a cast list in the Character Sheet section of the OP with links to the CS of each.

Here is a list of Harry Potter spells.

Here is a list of magical creatures in the Potterverse, including beasts, beings and spirits (AKA has-beens).

A timeline of the events of Harry Potter can be found here.

A summary of such a complex magical universe would be difficult, but to describe it as simply as possible; non-magical muggles (ordinary humans) and wizards lived in peace until the witch hunts of the 1600s. The history mainly follows modern history under the excuse that wizards, now living in secret, created a separate governing body (ministry of magic) for each country, ruled by the international confederation of Wizards. The ministry of magic is in charge of hiding magical creatures and keeping the international statue of secrecy intact - in other words, making sure no muggle is exposed to magic in any form. They also govern everything to do with magic - trade, education, hunting down rogue and dark magic users, etc. The minister for magic works alongside the president/prime minister of their respective country to help hide the larger unexplainable magical mishaps.

Around 1970-1981 lord voldemort rose to power as one of the most powerful dark wizards in the world. This was the first wizarding war; voldemort and his followers (death eaters) set out to enslave muggles and oppress muggleborn/half-blood (one muggle one wizard parent) wizards. Dark creatures such as giants, dementors and inferi (see magical creatures) were used to bolster the ranks. In opposition were the ministry of magic and the Order of the Phoenix - the former was infiltrated by death eaters and could no longer he trusted, whereas the latter were a small group of powerful independent wizards trying to take down voldemort. When the Potters (who had a son under the same conditions as the prophecy that said a boy would stop lord voldemort once and for all) were discovered by voldemort and killed using Avada Kedavra (killing curse) the curse inexplicably rebounded off Harry Potter and destroyed Voldemort's body, ending the war.

The main plot follows Harry Potter as he learns to be a wizard, but it is revealed in the first book that voldemort is not dead - he is less than human, his soul split into seven horcruxes (cursed artifacts made by killing people). Lord Voldemort regains a body at the end of the 1994 Triwizard tournament, trapping harry to use for the dark ritual.

The Wilborough Helpers Association starts in spring 1995, a few months before Voldemort's return is officially announced to the public. Cornelius Fudge, current minister of magic, is desperate to ignore the claims from Potter and the incredibly powerful Albus dumbledore. He slanders the two using the popular wizard newspaper 'The Daily Prophet'. Once a battle between voldemort, dumbledore and Harry breaks out right in the ministry of magic in London, it becomes undeniable that voldemort has returned.

The next few years will follow the second wizarding war where the remnants of the Order of the Phoenix recruit new followers. Harry Potter and his friends will be searching for the seven deadly horcruxes after September 1997 whilst Britain is increasingly controlled by dark magic, the ministry is once again infiltrated and controlled by lord Voldemort and things get very dangerous for muggles, muggleborn and half-blood wizards. The canon plot climaxes in the Battle in Hogwarts where Harry kills Voldemort permanently and the remaining death eaters are subsequently hunted down in the years following.

Any questions you think of, don't hesitate to throwthem into the OOC. You've got around 7 potter nerds lurking in here who can help you out.

Thank you both so very much! Now this I can work with.

One last question though. What is the OWL and NEWT?

One last question though. What is the OWL and NEWT?
OWLs are Ordinary Wizarding Levels, a set of exams taken in the fifth year. At this point in the RP, Harry Potter is currently doing his OWLs. Their IRL equivalent is the GCSE examinations in the UK. NEWTs are Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests and they're comparable to UK's A levels (Advanced Placement Exams in the USA?)

The scoring system for OWLS from highest to lowest is:
- Outstanding (O)
- Exceeds Expectations (E)
- Acceptable (A)
------ Any grade below here wouldn't be allowed to continue to NEWT level --------
- Poor (P)
- Dreadful (D)
- Troll (T)

NEWTs don't seem to really have a scoring system - at least, it wasn't mentioned anywhere, mainly because Harry, Ron and Hermione used most of the last 2 years that were meant to be NEWT-studying years to go out and save the world.

High OWL and NEWT grades are typically required to become an Auror (A specialist branch of the Ministry of Magic, Department of Magical Law Enforcement - a group of extremely well-trained investigators of the Dark Arts tasked with arresting dark wizards and solving crimes related to the dark arts.) Since the W.H.A are technically militia-style Aurors Dorothy expects passing grades in OWLs and NEWTs so her Helpers have enough knowledge about what they're going out to face.
