"I think it's time we left you back to your work, my King." Carina purred softly, leaning across to press a kiss to Sven's cheek. Totally oblivious to the conversation several floors below them, Carina was in total bliss. How pitiful it was that she was thinking just how well and perfect her life was in that moment. She couldn't imagine what could happen that would break the looking glass that she had so clearly stepped through.
She reached out to gently take Lorcan from Sven's arms, cooing and shushing the babe quietly as he began to stir with a sneeze and discontented gurgles. "I'm sure Natalia will be back soon and I wouldn't want her to think I was distracting you from your work when there's clearly so much to be done." She continued, walking around the coffee table to stand in the centre of the room with their son in her arms.
Once she had quietened the baby, Carina looked up and smiled, watching her husband for a moment. She truly was becoming soppy, enjoying such moments in which she could just take him in and appreciate the luck that had fallen onto her. Onto them.
"You know, I do believe your little fire kingdom is beginning to melt your ice queen, dear sir." She teased finally, making joke of her behaviour, an automatic reaction to her showing more of her emotion than she was used to. Carina was fully aware that she promised to be better at being open and the like, however, old habits died hard. Years of cool composure wouldn't melt in a few months; it would take time and to Carina, she believed they had plenty of it. In time, she would learn to show her emotions without worrying about being ridiculed or punished.
Keeping Lorcan held close to her chest with one arm, Carina reached out with the other to brush her fingers through the side of his fiery locks, the grin on her face turning into a tender smile, "See you for dinner? Or if I don't, please make sure you eat... it's important you do."
