How simple my gift is
If time could only freeze
This happens every year
And my heart could only tear

At this rate, you all would get the sense that this was some odd kidnapping incident, and if you were left here any longer... surely someone would die due to lack of supplies here.

Well, all of you are in luck, because there happened to be someone opening the door that would lead you out of this somewhat cramped guest room (well, what do you expect with more than 30 people jammed in one room?).

That someone wasn't really expecting this many people in the first place, but you couldn't blame her for it. The young woman appeared to be a maid of a sort.

308

"O-Oh my... um..."

Feeling as this was a bad time, the maid was about to walk away, but of course, she stopped after one footstep. As if she were remembering some distinct orders pertaining to everyone present.

308

"A-Apologies... I simply wasn't expecting this many guests invited over by Madam Beatrice..."

By just the mere mention of the name "Beatrice" definitely sparked interest in those that knew about the "Witch's Game" according to Ange, who apparently wasn't back yet from her cat chase. Oh dear... it looked like the maid was going to faint, but of course, she had a task to do here, and she didn't want to fail that task.

"... um... I see that majority of those present want to see Madam Beatrice... in that case, I can lead you all to the main manor. Once we arrive there, I'm free to... answer all of your questions if so. ... and maybe I can see if Madam Beatrice is fine with seeing you all in person..."

Well, how convenient. For a normal-looking maid, she didn't seem to be that bothered with the fact that some of the supposed "guests" appeared out of whack, but that was probably because she was just a maid under Beatrice the Witch. Maybe this was normal on a daily basis?

"O-Oh... I almost forgot to introduce myself. M-My apologies... You can refer to me by the name Shannon. Now please, follow me as... I-I escort you to the manor."

Once Shannon began to usher herself and everyone else to the exit to this building, which was actually the guest house and not the real mansion, it's no wonder why she was referring to another manor in the first place. Besides, maybe with this, you'll get the answers you all want answered. Or maybe not.

The path was almost like something out of a fairytale book. Everything appeared perfect. No cracks in the pavement. No signs of dying vegetation. The sky above had little to no clouds that could obscure the day's sunlight. As it was perfect... it only looked that way. Not to mention that there wasn't anything relatively... magical around here. They were all invited by the Golden Witch, but it was just plain weird that they were first thrown into a relatively normal and perfect-appearing setting.

"... it's been quiet lately."

The maid would mumble quietly to herself, but realizing that she was with many other people, she yelped a quick "Sorry!" before returning to silence as she lead them to the front of the mansion.

"H-Here we are... now... um, give me a moment to... unlock the door."

Upon announcing their arrival to the mansion's front doors, Shannon would fumble with a set of keys she had with her. Being clumsy, she happened to drop the keys onto the floor, prompting her to quickly mutter out in a hushed whisper "sorry" again before picking up keys up and finally unlocking the door into the mansion.

"... s-so it turns that I do have some time to spare... with questions, so you can do that if you wish. Um... feel free to tour the mansion as much as you like too... it's been awhile since we had guests over. J-Just don't go to the room upstairs. That's the living quarters that Madam Beatrice keeps herself in, and I rather not bother her without the proper notification of it..."

With that said, Shannon stood by the painted portrait near the back of the entry room, getting some cleaning supplies from the corner of the room to leave the plaque that was right next to the portrait frame. It was a viable option to ask Shannon on what this whole deal is with "Madam Beatrice."

There were some locations that they could attend to, now that they were within the mansion owned by the Golden Witch Beatrice, if their suspicions were correct... Those locations were the:

Kitchen
Living Room

"Okay, thank you, Miss Shannon," Morgan chirped as she glanced around the room they had been let into. So this is where the witches have their games, eh? They really do like the classic mystery set-up of guests showing up and one being the culprit, I guess. After a few moments of examining, the young tactician walked over to Shannon and poked her, "Miss Shannon, could you tell me more about Lady Beatrice? It wouldn't be proper to know little about our host, so I thought I should learn more about her~"

@Gummi Bunnies @Forrest @Hospes

Jason Voorhees...? HOLY SHIT! It's guy! She knew this guy! Why hadn't she put two and two together earlier? Probably because she was to busy to notice. Honestly this West guy seemed like he was two peas short of a pod.

"Yeah yeah...just make sure you do keep him on your leash, I'd hate to shoot down a fellow zombie! Even if he's rotten to the core!" Accidental pun notwithstanding to his question of bringing back the dead Zombina would just shrug. "It's all fine and good until suddenly you realize they outnumber you ten to one. Even as a zombie myself I can tell you bringing back people in masses is not a good idea at all. Especially when parts start to run out..."

She'd point to different patches on her skin and the sow marks all over. "'Cause flesh is still flesh! Once expiration is past the stink's going to be unbearable."

Meanwhile Undyne was in the middle of doing squats because all of this standing around was starting to get on her nerves.
tumblr_mu8gugbwkl1si30j3o5_500.gif

"..That is you reasoning behind why I should not bring back the dead? For their decayed corpses's smell will eventually become too much to handle? Hahahahahah!" It wasn't very often that you'd see someone like Herbert West breaking out in laughter but when he did, he really went over the top with it. "Heh...I'm sorry, you do have a point after all. If Jason were to fight off the influence of my Reagent for too long, he might have been able to do some serious damage. Wouldn't be good for him or anyone around him and I'd be out of a bodyguard." As Zombina showed her various stitches off to Herbert however, it didn't really get the reaction she might have been hoping for as Herbert approached and looked over every stitch with a calculating eye.

"Such excellent handiwork, not a single stitch out of place. Taking that into account with the other features that you've shown.. You truly are the pinnacle of what it is I hope to achieve with my work." He'd say before looking over as the maid began to speak. "Perhaps this is where we'll finally get some more in depth knowledge on what it is we were all brought here to do. Care to accompany me?" He offered to Zombina and whether or not she accepted, Herbert started to make his way off. This Zombina was quickly proving herself to be quite the potential asset to his experiments in Herbert's eyes.

"Now, where did Jason get to..?"

Back with Jason, he already had reason enough to dislike Hazama. The mixture of that attitude and the continued mentions of bodily harm towards the child set Jason on edge. But then what he said next was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Freak.

That word had a bad past with Jason even going as far back as when he was still a child back in the late fifties. The children would chase him, put bags over his head to 'hide his ugly' and then push him around as if he was their own personal play thing. All because he was different from them, that was enough to label him a freak. He had thought when he vanished into the woods after his supposed drowning, that kind of behavior would have stopped. But during his battle with Freddy Krueger, the memories surfaced up once more as Freddy invaded Jason's dreams and attacked his frightened inner child.

hqdefault.jpg

"You ugly little shit..Now there's a face only a mother could love!"

Jason's one good eye lit up with rage as he reached out to grip Hazama by the collar and reared back a fist with the intent to try and knock his head off with one good punch. But before the fist could connect, Jason felt his body lock up once again. It had to be the doing of that damn liquid West had injected him with. Cue Herbert walking up and tapping his foot impatiently near the serial killer. As if he were scolding a naughty child and not one of the most brutal murderers to ever haunt a camp ground.

"I do not know the cause of this conflict between you and this man but I'll have none of it! There's more to this whole event that it's to be found out the sooner we move on. I won't have that impeded by your impulsiveness so release him and let us move on!" Herbert snapped to which Jason's eye stared down Hazama before he reluctantly let him go and followed after Herbert. But not before giving one last look over his shoulder at the young girl he'd bumped into.

As they made their way to the set destination, Herbert glanced around. He supposed the kitchen would be as good a spot as any to store his Reagent if need be. Though after past experiences the risk of it being taken by someone else was higher than he would have liked. But then many risks came with being the man who sought to do something even God could not accomplish. Jason couldn't care less. He just wanted his machete back so he could go to Hazama and use it to slice him from top to bottom. The only trouble was that he was continually restrained by Herbert's reagent. But just as nothing could ever put Jason down permanently, he would not remain the lap dog to some deluded scientist who spoke as if he were Jason's better.

Smashing his fist into the wall with as much effort as he could, Jason's frame shook with his ragged breaths as he made his way after Herbert to the Kitchen.

Yeah this guy was a little loopy...probably an even better reason to keep her eyes on him. "Hey sure thing! Not like there's anything else to do until- oh there's a maid walking over here." Sure enough the maid would give some brief explanation as to who their hostess was at least.

Once in the mansion proper should continue following West, which meant she too would head towards the kitchen.

Undyne meanwhile would have headed towards Shannon to get some answers.

Bo was asleep in a crevice between a bed and a drawer. He was upside down and awkwardly squished together. The odd position messed with his breathing and he snored extremely loud, blocking out the little talking that occurred when the first few contenders of the game woke up. Time passes and more people wake up and the talking gets louder, but Bo is still asleep. Even more time passes and now everyone has awakened and Bo's weight pushes the drawer over allowing him to breathe. His snoring ceases. Finally, Bo can hear the whispers invading his mind and he slowly wakes up. First his left and then his right, both staring at the odd array of feet all around him.

"Another council meeting... Why wasn't I told..."

Then unexpectedly he fell over onto his his belly, hurting his nose as it was squished along the floor. Bo was still for a moment. He could sense something. No, he couldn't sense something. Bo's inventory had been cleared and he lacked his enhanced attributes.

"I don't like this feeling..."

Standing up Bo saw a letter where he was and picked it up. He didn't know what it was, but he thought it might prove useful to read later on and he stored it in his inventory under "Special". He turned around and looked at everyone. He was starting to really not like this feeling.

"Crap."

Suddenly the door opened. Bo couldn't see who it was being so short, but whoever it was everyone began to listen to them. He gave a brief look around before paying attention to her words as well. As the person talked Bo could tell it was a woman and soon she gave her name; Shannon. After she introduced herself she led the group to a mansion and left them to their own devices yet again. Great help she proved to be. Finding the girl useless from her shyness and lack of understanding, Bo decided to hang around and talk to others until something of value came about. Respecting the woman's wishes he did not go upstairs, but he found himself in the LIVING ROOM. He just looked around waiting for someone else to join him.

"Is there at least some manner of games in this place?"

Bo didn't really care to look if it wasn't in plain sight and just found a seat against a wall, criss-cross and with his hands in his hoodie.

Her heart pounded in her chest.

Seven years after having participated in a Murder game, a much older, more beautiful Princess Ilona with crystal clear blue eyes stood still, fear coursing through her body. Yes, this girl had seen death. She had seen distruction. Ilona had seen living puppets, evil bounty hunters talking skeletons, magic, monsters, creepy priests, psychotic Pokemon, and all manner of beats one could imagine existing in the multiverse. This young traveler had pretty much seen it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, the older teen was far more afraid than she had been for quite some time.

XdQJCsz.png

"Today I'm going to do it. I'm just going to walk back in and tell them I'm here, that I made it home," stated Princess Ilona, as she stood outside of the bustling little town outside of her kingdom: Arendelle.

After years of having been gone from her home, off and on against her will, Ilona finally had learned the ability to control her teleportation powers enough to stay in one place for a longer period of time. So, she decided it would be best to return home and pay her family, and kingdom, a visit. Although she was now home, the princess was uncomfortable to the point of being fearful. After having been gone for so long, would her family accept her? Would her kingdom be pleased to see her? Or would they scorn her for having been gone for so long? Ilona was anxious to see how everyone might react, so much that she wasn't sure if she could go through with making herself go back.

"You can do this," she would tell herself, taking a single step forward towards the castle. She then took a deep breath and intended to take another step towards her home, only to halt herself when a stray would blew in her face and caused a piece of paper to smack right into it. She gasped and slapped it away, her blue eyes widening. "Be gone, foul paper!" she shouted, watching the paper float to the ground and realizing it was an envelope.

Curiosity overtook the princess, so she reached down and took the envelope--opening it up. Once Ilona had opened it, she would be greeted by a letter.

Why hello there~! If you're reading this exact letter at this exact moment, it means that you've been specifically chosen to take part in a wonderful Gameboard event at the Metaworld. You need not to prepare oh so heavily for the event. The prize for winning the Gameboard event? I'm willing to part with a good fortune of my gold, that is one prize. Then there's my power to grant you a single rule-defying wish. That's another prize. Just think of anything that you desire out of me, and it will be your prize. I'll tell more of this event if you do eventually choose to participate, so be sure to send this envelope back with the confirmation.

-The Golden Witch Beatrice

Baffled, Ilona scratched the top of her head and began to play with a lock of her blonde hair. "By the Sun's light, what manner of letter is this?" She re-read the letter for a moment and paused thoughtfully. "An invite of some sort? I supposed I could accept it. After all, my parents and kingdom are not going anywhere."

Deep down, Ilona liked the idea of procrastinating on her visit, so she agreed. The moment she agreed with this letter, however, she suddenly disappeared--appearing in a room she didn't recognize. She knew it wasn't her power that had took her away, but another force entirely. She glanced around, a small frown forming on her lips as she came to realize her personal belongings were missing.

Before she had much time to question the others, the door would open and a maid would greet them. Once the group had exited the room, Ilona casually began to walk forward. Deciding she was curious about the situation, she figured she would ask Shannon what was going on.

"Excuse me, Lady Shannon, but do you know where we are and who this Lady Beatrice is? I can't say I entirely understand the situation at hand," she politely told the maid.

-Prologue Update-
"Calm Before The Storm"
Continued from here

"Okay, thank you, Miss Shannon," Morgan chirped as she glanced around the room they had been let into. So this is where the witches have their games, eh? They really do like the classic mystery set-up of guests showing up and one being the culprit, I guess. After a few moments of examining, the young tactician walked over to Shannon and poked her, "Miss Shannon, could you tell me more about Lady Beatrice? It wouldn't be proper to know little about our host, so I thought I should learn more about her~"

@Gummi Bunnies @Forrest @Hospes

With his usual blank expression, Pucci appeared beside Morgan and approached the maid who identified herself as Shannon, repeating the chipper girl's question into a more... down to Earth, grounded, and serious form. So much for a heavenly aura.

"This... Lady Beatrice. Yes, what is she like?" The priest questioned, crossing his arms behind his back.

She claims to be a Witch... and once I opened that envelope inviting me to some sort of Witch's Game... I was here. This must be the work of a demon. Someone that I must exorcise at once.

It is what he would want.

Heather was glad to be let out of the cramp room, this place gave her the creeps... more than that doctor guy. The maid, Shannon, she was one awkward girl. Seeing as a lot of people went to ask Shannon more about, Lady Beatrice and the house, Heather decided to go somewhere else. She looked around, at her options. She wasn't going to the kitchen, that's where Jason was. "I'll just go there." She made her way towards The Library, maybe there would be a book about this place. Usually libraries had books from their own realm or whatever... could be some kind of clue around there.

"O-Oh... of course. I see no reason on not doing so..." the maid would say with a questioning look, but of course, she didn't show much objection to the idea.

"Hold on a moment... if you can... others seem to want my input in certain things as well."
"So" Izayoi murmurs quietly, putting his hands into his pockets slowly "Shannon, right? Are all the maids here obliged to wear cute outfits, or is that something exclusive to yourself?"

He looks about while waiting for her answer "Ah, I see Lady Beatrice has quite refined taste, hmmm?"

"I-I apologize, but I don't know how my mistress had brought you all here for this occasion. As much as I am one of her closer servants... I can't seem to put a grasp on her mysterious ways."

Shannon gave off the impression that she didn't exactly know that Beatrice was calling herself "the Golden Witch" on her letter. Seeing that she didn't want to be behind on her duties, Shannon began to scrub down the plaque of the grime and dust was accumulating here, and even so, she continued to give the best rundown of what she knew.

"This used to be the private island estate for the Ushiromiya family located on Rokkenjima, a remote island away from the Japanese mainland. The previous owner, the head of the Ushiromiya family, Kinzo... he was obsessed over an unseen mistress named Beatrice, and the servants and myself at the time supposed that he was only trying to make some sort of tall tale to frighten the children. Or that he envisioned this fabrication of Beatrice to be a lost love... going as far as getting a custom-painted portrait of her and making this plaque in her strange honor."

As if to point this out, the maid stopped scrubbing down the plaque for a moment to show a rather elaborate epitaph that was engraved into the granite. A really long one to be exact.

"However, on a slow day a few months back, a woman that claims to be named Beatrice, the same Beatrice that Kinzo has made fantasies of, managed to buy off the entire island from the Ushiromiya family with her... fortune, as she puts it. I was offduty at the time when it happened, and I saw no trace of the previous owners ever since. With Beatrice as the new owner, us servants tended to the peculiar guests that she would mysteriously invite... week to week."

Finishing her cleaning task here, she put the sponge and bucket full of soapy water off to the side, seeing as some would still want to ask her questions for the time's being. Though, from the fact that Shannon never refered to Beatrice as a Witch or that she wasn't really questioning the origins of this group of guests, it could make one imagine on the possibility of her being fooled by the Witch's magic... if this Beatrice was actually the owner of the mansion.

"... and I suppose it is another occurrence of her hospitality towards guests. However, to hear that you weren't informed of where you are right away, I don't know why Madam Beatrice would do that... it's unlike her."

As she soon became silent until someone would ask her another question, her cleaning business with the plaque was done, meaning that they could take a quick look at that epitaph that was meant for Beatrice.

Clearing his throat, as if to make sure Shannon's attention stayed on him, Morgan, Ilona, and... maybe Undyne, not seeming to acknowledge Izayoi, Pucci would listen closely to the maid's words. Mysterious ways... It was unlikely that a Stand could be powerful enough to nullify other Stand's abilities, considering not even that man's Stand could. But she couldn't be a Witch, could she? Especially in this day and age... But then again, if Stands could exist, was the existence of a Witch really so unfeasible?

Either way... This all sounded very sinister. As he listened to more of the backstory, the man got something of a progressively bad feeling as he learned more about this Beatrice. Pucci could only hope that he'd be able to regain Whitesnake soon, or he was as good as defenseless for the Lord knows how long.

With that, he would wordlessly read the epitaph as well.

The kitchen appeared spotlessly clean, as if someone had been here before. It wouldn't be that much of a surprise since they had encounted Shannon moments before deciding to head here, so it could be taken that she had cleaned up this place as well. Though... something felt off with this location.

First off, there was some leftover food on the far counter. Those dishes consisting of soup, curry, ice cream, and a single slice of pizza. Weird selection of choices here, but hey, food's food... right?

Besides that, there was a whole rumbling noise coming from the pantry. Oh god, if it's more cats... So, care to investigate the pantry?

"How very interesting," Ilona replied, taking in the maid's words. "As this gentlemen stated, I'm curious to know as to when we will meet her. Perhaps when we do she will tell us why she acted out of character and did not tell us we would instantly be brought here."

Ilona would then turn and read the epitaph as well.

"... You're one of those guys that everyone knows is a pervert, aren't ya?"
"Not really" Izayoi murmurs with a small shrug "I just happen to like pretty ladies, nothing perverted about it, I don't peek when they're getting changed or anything"

He totally tried to look up Black Rabbit's skirt when they were fighting, but that was because it was enchanted to prevent you getting a look
If a man backed down from a challenge like that, how was he expected to defeat gods in one on on combat?

"I must ask, why are you so worried about me being a pervert anyway?" he asks, cocking a brow "You afraid I'm going to follow you around waiting for my chance to strike or something?"

@Gummi Bunnies

For a mansion, the library wasn't going to be any joke for sure. It was filled to the brim with books, and it made you wonder on what kind of books you were going to find here. Regardless of how long it would take to skim through these books for useful information, it couldn't hurt to try.

Aside from the chances of doing a complete book search, Heather wasn't alone, because it looked like someone got here before her. A man who bore a similar cloak alike to Morgan's... you could talk to him if you want. Well... if he was busy with the books too or not.

"I'll put it like this. The last time I worked with a pervert, he had his mind on places other than the job most of the time..." Must save them, can't let them down. "And you don't want people who can't focus on the job. They make stupid mistakes," Like letting a cat get away so easily, "and get themselves or others hurt for it..."

"O-Oh... of course. I see no reason on not doing so..." the maid would say with a questioning look, but of course, she didn't show much objection to the idea.

"Hold on a moment... if you can... others seem to want my input in certain things as well."

"A-Ah... W... Well... I'm one of the few maids left... but... um, thank you for the compliment..."

Goddammit Izayoi, stop trying to flirt with the maid.

So it turns out the rest of the people gathered to ask her questions have the same collective inquiry about what was going on... and about Beatrice.

Lucina had followed the group to ask Shannon questions, though since most people already asked her questions she just listened.

"Not really" Izayoi murmurs with a small shrug "I just happen to like pretty ladies, nothing perverted about it, I don't peek when they're getting changed or anything"

Lucina turned to the two then.

"I wouldn't blame her for worrying of such a thing. As one cannot be to safe." She piped up. Though the girl he was talking to seemed a bit familiar. Maybe it was just her? Eh, she might know them or she might not, what with all the time travel nonsense that she had to go through back in her world it occasionally got confusing.
