[fieldbox= Kamijou Michio, plum, solid]
It had been more than a month since the attack at the school happened but Michio couldn't help but still be a bit on edge. It was the largest attack that ever happened on the school and yet everyone in the premises were unsure just how it was resolved. At least that single hacker incident all those months ago had a satisfying conclusion but the latest event's end felt so vague and incomplete when he and the other students all woke up on a hospital bed.
Despite the numbers that they held, he was no fool to believe that was enough to stop them. From the information he had gathered, there were only less than 10 attackers that day and they were members of some sort of VR Gang. But if that few can cause such chaos to erupt, then what if they held the same numbers as his subordinates, or what if they had outnumbered them? Unless everyone gets an invisibility countermeasure program, they would have been sitting ducks. It was only though sheer luck that the authorities made it on time before anybody had been seriously hurt... or so he thought.
Michio heard some disturbing news regarding Kyouko. Apparently, she was one of the main targets of the VR gang and had come out of the incident missing one of her fingers. When he heard it at first, it felt like the Yakuza had something to do with it instead but he was certain that Kokoro Amane had not involved them that day, or that was what he believed. Speaking of targets, the other main target was supposed to be Nyoko Morita, who, unsurprisingly was the head of a gang, albeit a VR one. Michio doesn't know much of the details but it was safe to say that she's paying for her crimes. Surprisingly, however, there are other members of Nyoko's VR gang among his classmates though after what had happened, he chose to let sleeping dogs lie and let them be. That said, he was quite troubled by Kira's disappearance as well.
But ever since that day, Kokoro Amane spared no expense for the protection of the students. The sight of middle-aged men patrolling the school armed with wooden swords was an everyday occurrence now in Hisakawa. But if knew anything, that was just for show. If things really got messy, then he can imagine them having no qualms bringing in firearms into the fray. Though Kokoro would have Sagawa hack into everyone's chips to perform some sort of amnestic program in order to wipe everyone's memories clean and replace it with something else entirely. At least that's what he'd do if he had those resources and was in any position of power to do so. Last month's incident was simply too close for comfort, and it certainly looked like the student council president is not taking any chances. Who knows what could have happened if Sakuradamon didn't arrive on time?
As he was having these thoughts, his attention shifted back to the reason why he was in school in the first place. Apparently, Kokoro had decided to relinquish the Vice Presidential position that Keoni-san forfeited when he switched schools to Leo Kane. It was evident that this was a decision that a vast majority would not so willingly accept and some of them were even prodding him to voice a complaint. It would seem that they still do not believe the president's words regarding her decision.
Clearing his throat, Michio began speaking in a loud and authoritative tone to address everyone's concerns.
"I can understand that you have some... reservations regarding our dear President's decision to name Kane-san as Vice-President. Some of you may have issues regarding his personality, and most of you will question his skill. But I, on the other hand, no longer question Amane-Kaichou's decisions, and I am not going to start again now. If she has reason to believe that Leo Kane has the capability to handle the responsibility of vice-president, then I shall not go against her wishes. Besides, as she has stated, my personal circumstances prevent me from handling a position above my current one. " He had confirmed that what Kokoro Amane had said was true. Between his Academics, Responsibility as a Social Morals Officer, Part-Time Jobs, and Training, he simply had no time to spare for an added responsibility.
"However, if I may be allowed to speak freely, then I do not wish everyone present to disprove and deny Kane-san's capacity to lead alongside Amane-Kaichou without giving him the opportunity to do so. Let Kane-san prove not only to Amane-Kaichou but to the entire student body that he deserves the position thrust unto him by our dear President. Let us give him the chance to earn our trust and respect from now on. And let us prove to everyone that Hisakawa Academy is an institution of opportunity and its Student Council as an exemplar of justice and impartiality!"
It was a statement that catered to each side's qualms. While he did not oppose Amane's will, he also tried to convince the other council members to give Leo a chance. It was the best he could do at that situation and hopefully it would ease them to the idea of having Leo as the next Vice President. Hopefully still, Chiyo would support his statement as well as Leo's reputation.
