Home: HALO's part of the Fandomverse is very futuristic and militaristic, her home being a starship that looks like the UNSC INFINITY, only scaled down as it does not need to hold the thousands of crew that would be needed to run it. What's unique about her home is that it is able to fly around, just like the actual INFINITY.
Better make sure no dinosaurs get on board :P

Alright buck-a-roo's! I'm back and ready to play some Fantasy Ball!

Again, I hope my post didn't contradict anything. I haven't been paying as much attention as I should have. W101 will go wherever the main group is going, but she just put her 2 cents in about wanting to go up.

Also....for Submachine....should I post for him at some point? We decided that no one is going with him, right? Or did we decide that someone is going with him but we won't do the whole rooms thing cuz that would take too long? Cuz like I've said before, I can just have him be gone and then come back once he finishes stuff in that Loop. So he will be out of the picture for a while.

A link to a reference image would be a good thing to add, if you an find one.

HALO has many weapons at her disposal, ranging from the UNSC M6H pistol, all the way up to the Promethean Incineration Cannon. However, she is only able to weild two of these at any one time. She also has access to several SPARTAN abilities, which includes Armour Lock, Active Camo, a deployable dome shield that can block bullets and let vehicles and living beings pass right through, to name but a few. Again, for more balancing reasons, she is only able to carry one at a time. This means if she was to enter a combat situation, she would have to choose her weapons and SPARTAN ablities very carefully.
I think you should give at least a brief description of every weapon listed here. In which case, turning this into a bulleted list might be a good idea.

But yeah, just saying the name of each weapon really isn't enough.

Once again, you should include an image link here.

As a general rule, you shouldn't expect that everyone reading your CS is familiar with the source material. So any time you reference something from the canon (especially when describing what someone/thing is supposed to look like), just saying "it looks like [name of person/thing]" isn't really suitable. But using the name as a link to an image gets the job done rather well.

This is also why I said that you need descriptions for all the weapons. Describing abilities/weapons serves several purposes, actually -- since it not only requires you to summarize what a weapon does in a bite-size description that non-fans can easily follow, but it also gives you the opportunity to tweak how exactly the power/weapon works in this universe -- whether that means doing something clever with it, like the pokedex example from earlier, or just slightly re-interpreting the power/weapon in order to fit a play-by-post setting.

Sometimes I tell players that they need to offer descriptions of weapons and things, and they just link to a Wikia page. But this really isn't helpful because A) it often includes way too much info to digest, or isn't phrased in a way that would make sense to a non-fan, and B) especially in the case of video games, a Wikia page often means a table full of stats and numbers, or, in general, video game abstractions that don't make much sense outside of a video game setting. A link to a Wikia page is acceptable if done sparingly, but, your main weapons should have descriptions written out in the CS.

Sorry for rambling so much, by the way. I'm not upset at you or anything -- I just wanted to make sure you understood my reasoning, since a common response to me saying "add descriptions" is, as mentioned, players editing in unhelpful Wikia links. XD
I can remove the stuff about HALO fighting the other FPS fandoms fi you so desire.
Nah, it's fine.

Fix up the stuff I mentioned here and I'll give your CS another look.

I said that I wasn't a fan of the Loop idea and wouldn't involve Trigun in it, but you could theoretically go with it if anyone wanted their character to go with yours -- but I don't think anyone did. I also mentioned that I didn't want you to just RP out a bunch of scenes by yourself with no one to interact with.

That being said, instead of leaving Submachine out-of-commission for so long, you could just as easily start playing him again now, but with him having just gotten out of the Loop. So essentially, you can re-introduce him by time-skipping over it. Time is flexible enough here that it won't make much of a difference.

Also, what ever happened to that whole dream thing that we planned with SU and DHMIS? I did mention that I needed you to start the dream sequence.

SMG - A 120-round fast firing SMG that can be dual-wielded.
This definition is recursive... might be good to edit it. I still don't know what an "SMG" is.

Friendlies show up as green and enemies show up as red.
And what about neutral parties? Or is everyone automatically considered either a friendly or an enemy by default until Halo actually meets them?

Other than this, everything looks good. Edit these and I'll take another look -- but this'll probably be ready to be accepted after that.

SMG - A 60-round fast firing sub-machine gun (think of an FN P90, but without the carry handle and you have the HALO SMG) that can be dual-wielded.
This is... still recursive.

It's an improvement, but it doesn't make any sense to define something as "think of such-and-such but also with [the thing you're trying to define]".

I think it could just be fixed with a bit of re-wording at this point, though.

Name: HALO
Gender: Female
Appearance: HALO stands at roughly 6'9" with quite a muscular stature and a sizeable chest. She has quite a beautiful face with high cheekbones, a small button nose, and plump lips. Her eyes are teal and almond shaped, with a head of red hair cut to her neck and the left side of her head having all the hair shaved off (leaving the top, and rigth sides) with her remaining hair sweeped over to the right side. She wears the Helioskrill armour variant from HALO 5 Guardians in the same red colour as her hair, with the secodnary colour being blue, as well as the visor.
Personality: HALO has quite an outgoing and friendly personality, but can also be quite militaristic and stoic when in a combat situation. She's eager to make friends and show off her equipment and stuff, bragging about how much better it is than other FPS fandoms. She does have quite the mean streak though and will get extremely butt-hurt whenever other FPS fandoms try to say they have better equipment than her.
Abilities and Equipment:
Most commonly used weapons (can only carry two at a time):
  • SMG - A 60-round fast firing sub-machine gun (think of an FN P90, but without the carry handle) that can be dual-wielded.
  • Hydra MLRS - A six-shot compact rocket launcher.
  • SPARTAN Laser - An over-the-shoulder non-linear rifle which takes 3 seconds to charge and holds enough charge for 5 shots.
  • MA5D - A 36-round bull-pup assault rifle.
  • SAW - A 144-round light machine gun that uses drum mags.
  • Plasma Caster - A plasma grenade launcher that holds 6 shots.
  • Fuel-Rod Cannon - A plasma rocket-launcher that fires green plasma shots that can bounce of surfaces. It holds 5 shots in a top-loaded clip.
  • Incineration Cannon - Another type of rocket launcher, though hard-light this time. The shots fired out of this split off into 4 different "grenades" after hittin a surface, the grenades detonating after they hit a surface. This can also only hold 5 shots.
Most commonly used SPARTAN Abilities (can only carry one at a time):
  • Promethean Vision - This allows her to see enemies through walls for a short period of time. Friendlies show up as green and enemies show up as red, while neutrals show up as yellow. This also makes any objects and surface turn a blue colour.
  • Active Camo - This allows her to turn invisible for a short period of time. However, if she moves quickly, she becomes translucent so she must move slowly to have this be effective.
  • Drop Shield - A deployable dome shield that blocks bullets, plasma, rockets, railgun shots, and tank shells, though it allows people and vehicles to pass right through. It can only take so much punishment before breaking, though.
  • Jump-pack - This allows her to activate the boosters on her back to allow her to jump farther, fly for short periods of time, and also be able to ground-pound by launching her up into the air and firing her down to the area she wants to land.
  • Hard-light Shield - This allows her to produce a blue hard-light shield which she can use to block attacks. This only lasts for so much punishment until it breaks, and she cannot fight back while it is equipped.
Quirks: HALO is in a very big rivalry with Call Of Duty, Battlefield and all other FPS fandoms. Whenever they encounter each other (at the player's discretion), they would fight each other, due to conflicting fandoms.
Other: At the discretion of the player, HALO is related to RvB, with RvB being her younger sibling (seeing as RvB was created after HALO).

Is this good enough?
Alright. Looks good now. Consider yourself accepted.

It is at this point, I'm assuming, that you would ask about what's going on in the IC currently and how to jump into the roleplay. However,

Not only has this whole semester been a whirlwind for me, but right now in particular is just...

Thankfully, I'll probably be able to catch up on stuff during Thanksgiving break, and hopefully things will wind down just enough in the days before that to get around to a summary or something sooner.

In the meantime, you should read the "general summary" on the first page. It's not completely up-to-date and won't tell you where all our current groups are and what they're doing, but it'll at least give you a run-down of all the biggest things that have happened so far.

Awesome! So If I use a character from the show is that okay? And would I put their information on a character sheet?

No, because the RP isn't about canon characters. The idea is to design a personified fandom -- which typically means including elements of canon character(s) from the series, but it's not quite the same thing. I suggest you give the first post a close read if you haven't already. It will help you get a better idea of what the RP's about.

Noted. I was planning on that anyway, having him come back moments later from the group's perspective. So it would be just one post of him disappearing and one post of him returning.

And....frick. i forgot about that. I'll try to post for that now.

Actually, it would make even more sense to just combine the two into a single post. After all, it's not like anyone can interact with him in-between.

And making IC posts that no one can interact with is kind of against the rules. Which apparently I don't do a good enough job of enforcing or reminding people about, given how often we run into issues with this rule in particular...

i read this after i posted my reply. Which i hope is okay with, btw.....

I'll fix my reply later tonight after all my event stuff is done.

I feel like I'm really half-assing all these monster posts.

Oh well. They get the job done, at least.
