Gazebo
Erin & Daisy
Despite its high altitude in comparison to the surrounding area, the two women had decided on staking out the gazebo in shifts throughout the night, ensuring one of them was always on the watch for possible danger. Though a tense stand-off had occurred between them, neither woman wanted to be the first to start the plethora of killing that was seemingly inevitable to come. So, an alliance had been struck, though it was a tender one at best. It was hard for anyone to fully trust another in a game such as this, but for these two women in particular, trust had become an incredibly difficult thing to achieve.
As for the act of killing itself, Erin had been ambivalent about the whole thing, even if it was something she knew - she absolutely knew - she could do if she had to. The first death meant no one had to die for the first day, but that didn't mean her fellow contestants would decide to wait things about before they started playing to win. No one could blame her for trying to keep her distance on the gazebo, even if nothing ultimately came of it. She'd been unsure how to assure Daisy she wasn't planning to play, but she had offered her crossbow to the other woman for the times when she would be on watch. After all, it wasn't like they could threaten someone with dynamite reliably, especially with no actual means to light it.
Now that it was morning, the two women sat in contemplative silence. A monitor was perched on one of the gazebo's support beams, displaying another message from the annoying little rabbit. Another death had occurred and one location was now off-limits. That was fine with Erin, as she was not confident yet in leaving the comfort of the gazebo. As for the final piece of information - that another death had to occur - Erin knew it meant the game was only just beginning. She let out a sigh and pushed her back up against the wooden railing, her sitting position putting her mostly out of sight from anyone who might be wandering somewhere nearby. The crossbow in her arms felt strangely comforting as she cradled it against her chest.
"I like where we are," she said, staring straight ahead and not looking Daisy's way. She seemed to almost be in a trance. "But it's not secure. We have a good vantage point, but I imagine there are firearms floating out there. Anyone with a gun's going to run right through us. We should relocate and I'll, uh--" She nodded to herself, as if coming to some sort of conclusion. "I'll make it secure."
