"Fuck it," Nathan suddenly said. Apparently not keen on waiting for an answer, the boy moved past Jenny and proceeded down the hall and toward the sound. "I'm not letting whatever the fuck that is get to me--"

Nathan was cut off swiftly by a small thing jumping out from one of the rooms and latching on to his head.

"What the FUCK?!"

The creature laughed and giggled as it scratched at Nathan's face.

Emily would find herself at the dorms, the closest section. Passing through a sitting area, she'd hear strange noises coming from the hall beyond. In particular, the sound of Nathan yelling for someone to get something off of him.

Distracted by the damage done to his armor, Locus lingered in the lobby and found a lob of acidic spit crashing at his feet. The acid burned at his legs and arms, allowing the infected to push him back to the medical services hallway with Cap, Sherlock, and Alan. There, the group would find that a number of the infected had crowded into the entrance of the hallway. The only choices remaining were to head back into the Medical Center and escape into the open vent, or to make a stand in the hallway.

Thankfully, Rhonda's flamethrower would manage to put an end to the spitting creature's life, though the infected still lingered all around her. With the medical hallway blocked off from her, she would need to find a different place to find cover.

Carl would find he was one of the few to escape to the exercise room. For now, anyway. At the entrance were glass panels, which a few of the infected quickly took to slamming at. Cracks were already showing up on the glass, and you hadn't even got a good look at the place. At the front was a help desk, and beyond that were rows of basic equipment-- treadmills and various weight training devices. There were sections beyond here for a yoga center, a racquetball room, and what appeared to be a large swimming pool. Thankfully, this place looked clean and prime for a weapon much better than a metal pipe.

OOC: As good a place to get in as any.

Her exploration revealed many things about this place, in the shadows.

One, her fellow prisoners were just that: Prisoners. As ignorant of this place and each other, all without knowledge of whatever lands or as she was forced to believe- Worlds that they came from.

Second, the dead walked and moved as they would, seeking the flesh of the living.

Which made her allies the living. Simple and concise.

She had no weapon in hand, but emerging from the shadows, she was a specter in and of herself. Lithe, agile and spinning with an axe kick without warning for the creature that connected to Nathan before hammering out with her fists like a surgeon. Inhuman as these things were, their bones still broke just like a regular humanoid.

She just took advantage of it, best she could.

Her ears piqued up at the sudden noise, and she tiptoed as silently as a person in half a ton of armor could, halting at the door to the hallway the yells were emanating from. She gripped the edges of the doorframe and slooooowly peeked around the corner and took a long good look at what was going on there. Before she just pulled back out of sight again.

"Get which one of them off?" She whispered, wondering in thought. Either way, she preferred not to rush headlong into any of these strange creatures if she could help it. Not after that last episode. Though if someone killed it for her, she'd happily drag the carcass to a operating table and go fangirl over it's innards as she poked and prodded.

"Only one place left." Nezumi grunted before grabbing Shion's wrist and pulling him along while giving Huang and Will a small nod. If they wanted to follow or not was their choice but the slate haired male was hoping they did. He dragged Shion back towards the Medical Center; towards the vent. If any other undead were there Nezumi would be quick to use more of the scalpels in his possession as weapons.

As the creature was kicked in the side, the force pushed Nathan into the wall, slamming both himself and the monster against it. The creature's hold on his lessened, but Nathan still swore loudly, his voice loud enough to possibly draw other infected their way.

Looking past the nearest door, Jean would find a dorm room with a person sitting slumped in a chair. The hole in their head made it obvious they were dead. A small gun sat on the ground next to the body.

Emily would find that, thankfully, none of the infected had followed her. It would seem most of them had stayed back for the others.

Shiona nd Nezumi would find no resistance as they climbed into the vents. They were spacious enough to easily fit both, and after a short but bumpy ride, the two would come out into a room where all the ventilation of the facility seemed to run through. The Doctor, The Master, and Yuriko were already here, deciding on a place to go. A vent went left and right, but the group seemed inclined to head into the one above them for now.

Jean blinked; it looked like he recognized it was a gun, but, it certainly wasn't a musket; he'd seen such weapons attatched to 3D maneuver gear before, but, most of the time, that sort of thing was never used against Titans; they were virtually ineffective. The hole in the person's skull made him shudder a little, it became apparant that he may have used that same weapon to take his own life; which meant that there was plenty of horrors awaiting him around the next bend. With a quick motion, Jean grabbed the gun, heading back towards Nathan quickly attempting to pistol whip the creature a few times, hopefully deterring it from clinging on any longer; he had a feeling he might have to use the weapon soon enough.

He threw one of his sharpened planks towards @york. "Hey, kid, we've got to flank this skrewhead. We need to send this freak back to hell, so shoot like there is no tomorrow. Jonny, you take a plank too; we'll need all the help we can get" he launched a spike towards the weeping banker. Nezumi grunted from the bumpy ride, slowly rising to his feet and rubbing his shoulder. He had made sure Shion was protected by his scarf, which also acted like a cloak. Since it absorbed most of the impact Shion was pretty much physically fine.

Though mentally...

Shion was back at that place, the time where a place that was like a different world for him became nothing more than a place of death and destruction. People screaming before they were killed. Then...the sound of a baby crying nearby.....

"Shion. Hey...get up. We have to keep moving." Nezumi said, grabbing the male's shoulder and giving it a shake.

"Nezumi?" Shion's voice was quiet as Nezumi suddenly forced the other male to his feet.

"Yeah, it's me. Now snap out of it, we can't have you having some sort of...break down right now okay?" The taller male said. Shion only nodded numbly in response.

In the commotion Cap didn't notice that Rhonda was left behind, but the open space allowed for some more leeway as far as fighting went. "We need to thin out the heard some more that we get some more space. Guns ready, but please try to not shoot me." Cap would leap towards the closest zombie and will try to decapitate it with a slash of her energy shield.

Rhonda meanwhile found herself alone with her only know escape path blocked by zombies. "Shit!" Could she risk an attempt to get through? No...too risky for the time being. Instead she'd quickly scan around the area to see if she could find another place to get out of the way from the zombies.

CHAPTER TWO
"Better Safe Than Sorry"

As Alan fired on the collection of debris and oxygen tanks, sparks erupted from the impact, bursting in brilliance when caught in the stream of hissing oxygen. A great ball of flame flashed for only a second, but the heat was intense enough to compromise, setting off a chain reaction within the tanks. Comrpimised by the acidic substance and heat, the tanks exploded, catching the tail end of Alan's twin bullets and erupting into a brilliant flame that enveloped the hallway. A boom had rocked against your ears and the heat from the flames could be felt even from your positions further down the hall. A shrill alarm sounded in your ears for a few seconds before it died out.

As a result, the debris and door to the Living Quarters had been slammed outward, opening up the way. As the flames quickly dissipated, all that was left was a strong burning smell on your nostrils and smaller piles of melted debris lingering about. You were finally free to continue further into the facility, however--

Angry cries rose up from within the facility. Beyond the hallway door was a lobby that connected to the various sections of the Living Quarters. It was here that a horde of people came crashing in, all running straight for your group.

---

Nathan stepped into the unlocked hall with Jean and Daniel. He saw them eyeing one of the dead bodies and shook his head slightly. "Those ones are... are dead," he he tried to say dismissively, though he didn't sound as confident as he wanted. Stepping forward, he moved in to grab the wallet from Jean's hands without so much as a thanks. He then quickly doubled back to the previous room to input the man's details into the computer. Once the process was finalized, it seemed the bar code device in their possession was now good for level two clearance. With that, Nathan started to move toward the central transport, caring little if Jean or Daniel followed him.

At the doors, a loud boom could be heard from somewhere within the facility and a brief alarm sounded in turn. Nathan spun around and looked down the hall in search of the disturbance, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. "Fuck! What the fuck--"

It was then that the dead bodies in the previous room walked out into the hallway. So much for them being dead. With no weapons to defend themselves which, Nathan quickly opened the door to the central transport and ushered Jean and Daniel inside. He looked almost like he had considered going in without them, but perhaps he recognized safety in numbers.

As the doors closed behind them, Nathan let out a shaky breath of relief. He scanned the device once again to head to the Comm Center, but it seemed the device didn't have the proper clearance. Nathan swore out loud, tapping on multiple places to see if they had permission to head to any of them. The labs seemed to work, but pressing that button produced only an ERROR. Annoyed, Nathan slammed his fist on the final button-- the Living Quarters-- and the elevator started to life.

"So fucking stupid..." Nathan muttered under his breath, loud enough for the two others with him to hear. Once the door opened, the three were staring down a hallway. The sounds of screaming and fighting could be heard in the distance, but a different sound was closer. Mad laughter could be heard in one of the rooms ahead.

"One of you go ahead," Nathan practically commanded.

---

In the vents, a sudden alarm sounded. It was unknown what had caused it for the moment, but it soon became apparent this wasn't what you had to worry about. The Doctor, Yuriko, and The Master would feel the vents turn into a vacuum, their bodies suddenly pulled and sucked in by a great gust of air. Being slammed and pushed around like a pinball, the three would end up flying through, being tossed out of the vent and into a strange room.

697jFK1.jpg

Without a bar code device, it seemed the only thing to do was explore more of the vents. Thankfully, the alarm and sudden air currents had gone. Of the ones that seemed passable, there was one on the left wall, the right wall, and above you.

Travis seemed to wait for Ash to apologize for his behavior earlier, which he was all for-- this environment probably did bring the worst out of people, after all. He's seen quite a few acts of violence break out the moment he woke up, some rational, and some no doubt with some reasoning to it. If there was anything he or his current team needed, it was some closure for any potential negative feelings. His blue eyes watched patiently as he seemed to (poorly) construct the right words to say sorry to Catherine, but as it went on, his smile.. dimmed into a somewhat wincing face. It was starting to get just a little bit painful, hearing him while bearing witness to the whole thing. It was beginning to get painful enough, in fact, that he was contemplating stepping in and politely asking to wrap it up. But then, all of a sudden, as soon as he decided to do so raising one hand and opening his mouth to say something..

..Oh, boy. Oh, geez.

He kissed her. He just went straight to kissing her. Travis's face just quickly showed his surprise, slowly dropping his hand down as the two adults, erm.. Came to an agreement. Is this how they would seal the deal with apologies, if they loved each other? If they loved each other, that is; Travis didn't know how long they knew each other since waking up here. He was just.. standing there. Just standing there, holding his plank in one hand next to him while they kissed, eventually making a goofy, somewhat awkward and wry grin until they finally broke up. Thank goodness; he didn't know what he would do if they stayed here for a minute longer, let alone what would happen. And, just like that, they were out, being dragged haphazardly by the nurse due to her state of infatuation. He probably would have dropped his weapon if he didn't have a tighter grip on it.

"..Wait, where exactly are we headed?" Travis asked quickly, having to pick up his feet so that he wouldn't literally be dragged along with Catherine on their journey. If they were going to the Living Quarters, then they really should pick up the pace. He doesn't know the consequences for looking literally anywhere else, but.. Honestly, he really wouldn't like to linger around to find out.

Suddenly, elsewhere, he heard a resounding explosion, one that made him look back from where it came from. The place seemed to be quiet-- keyword, seemed-- until that particular noise came up. They were running elsewhere, but even so, it caught his attention. He began to wonder if the others were alright. "What.. What the heck was that?!"

Enter: the Zombies. During his time as the chosen one, Ash had seen a variety of strange creatures; A Deadites Moose, Deadite Cowboys, Deadite Nazis and Deadite babies just to name a few. But what stood before him that night blew all of those things out of the water; actual Deadite Zombies.
There was only one thing he could say to that
"Groovy"
"Be careful, baby, you may want to look away; things are bbiut to get real ugly"
Prepping his wooden monstrosity, he leaped into combat, swinging his plants and spalattering blood as if there were no tomorrow. Ash grabbed his make-shift chainsaw(otheewise known as Planky), plunging it into the gut of one of the larger creatures before twisting it inside the wound. Kicking the deadite from the weapon, the creatures stomach ruptured, splatting ooze toward the S-Met Employee, fuzzing against his breastplate. Swiftly removing it with his good hand,he continued to swing it around at the creatures; maybe the ooze wasn't damaging to their own organics, but pain certainly was. So much for useless Armour
"So which one of you screwheads is going to be the first to go back to hell? Come get some!" One of the creatures charged at him, just as he began to charge at it, smaking it across the head with his bare fist. The creatures skin burned his hand upon contact, but he knew the pain he had caused it out weighed the damage it had caused him.
"So do you believe I can save you from Candarian Demons now?"

Meanwhile, Jonny sat in the corner, screaming
Ah, but alas. Like a guest foolishly holding a cigarette in front of the hotel chef, Catherine's lovelorn daze did not last long.

"Was that--" She didn't have the time to finish her thought. Monsters. Oooh, her favorite. Ash was busy slaying one of them, and on impulse she reached out and grabbed onto Travis' arm. Best to let Ash take care of the fighting (as if he got infected by them, honestly, would Catherine mind that much in the long run?) for the time being. "Goodness, I don't think it's safe to stay here much longer..." And then, keeping her voice deliberately low, simply muttering to herself, "Though taking a blood sample from one of them might be a little bit...Thrilling." A more readily audible trill slipped from Catherine's throat at the idea. ... Though if they were anything like the dead bodies back at Gregory House, they wouldn't have any blood to drain, and her satisfaction would be limited at best.

Her grip on Travis relaxed as she straightened her posture, eyes going up and down the hallway. She could spot the openings to ventilation shafts--Hell, she could hear some noises coming from them--But there was no way she was crawling through there. But there was a variety of paths to choose from. Which way would have the least interference?

"...Of course you could save me from Candarian Demons!~ You could save me from anything, darling."

She said it just to buy her some time to analyze. And with her grip was still on Travis, she half-dragged, half-carried the boy down the hallway to the left in a rush.

"...Though hopefully," And this time her mutter was half-directed to Travis, "He'll both follow us and never make another apology speech again. Men..."

With the combined efforts of Ash, Johnny, and Jean, the creature was knocked off Nathan's head. The creature continued to laugh madly as it hopped away down the hall and out of sight, leaving a trail of blood as it did so. Nathan had collapsed to the floor, backing himself up against the wall to bury his head in his hands. He mumbled incoherently, refusing to to look anyone in the eye.

Following the creature down the hall, you'd find the trail leads to double doors with a sign that read Cafeteria. These were locked, but not electronically. A plain old fashioned key would have to be found for them in, presumably, the dorm rooms. Aside from the room where Jean found the gun, there was also the room where a zombie was banging from the inside of the door. The others looked far too trashed to investigate.

Rhonda would find that her only choices were the exercise rooms and the dorm rooms, though the dorm rooms looked like they had less infected.

Meanwhile, Cap, Alan, Sherlock, and Locus had made their stand at the hallway, ending the lives of too many infected to count. Acidic spittle and blood began to coat the hallway, tiny droplets of both getting on your clothes. Though the amounts were small, they still burned intensely on your skin.

Eventually, the numbers had thinned out, leaving the hallway almost free once again. That was, until, something else came upon your group.

With a loud shriek, the creature bounced off the hallway walls to slam into Alan and pin him. The creature screamed as it dug a claw into Alan's shoulder.

Catherine and Travis would find themselves walking into the exercise rooms. Another boy, Carl, was already here. At the front was a help desk, and beyond that were rows of basic equipment-- treadmills and various weight training devices. There were sections beyond here for a yoga center, a racquetball room, and what appeared to be a large swimming pool.

Emily Kaldwin chose to assist Nathan, picking him up by the arm and guiding him with the others with a few simple words and insistent body language.

"You don't want to stay here. There is safety in numbers."

To the others, she introduced herself.

Fuck it, heading for the dorm rooms. Rhonda ducked and evaded any zombie trying to get her as she made her way to the nearest door in the dorms.

Cap meanwhile would help out Alan and grab the infected and pulled it off him before slamming her boot down hard on its head.

"Hi!" She stepped back around the corner with a spring in her step now that the immediate danger had passed. "I'm Emily Grey, pleased as punch to meet you! Also, no that's wrong. Science isn't black any more than it's white or yellow or brown or red or green or blue or purple or pink or magenta or orange or turquoise or crimson. It's science! And I think I can discover the secret. I've got tons of data! It's exciting! If scary. But that's just risk and reward, so it all works out."

Locus had leaned on the wall for support as he glanced down at the armor covering his legs. That spitting creature had managed to leave a puddle of it at Locus's feet and while he'd been able to escape from it before it dissolved through his armor and hit his flesh, he couldn't believe how foolish he'd been. How could he have tried taking on something with the ability to potentially melt through his armor? He'd follow along after Cap and Alan and aided as much as he could despite the stinging pain coming from his legs.

His senses were on full alert however once the hunter made it's presence known to the group by assaulting Alan. He didn't think that he'd be able to make it over in time to help get the creature off him but thankfully it seemed Cap had that covered. So in turn he'd make his way over to Alan and sought to help him back to his feet if he'd been knocked down by the Hunter's attack.

"They just keep coming, persistent creatures.."

He'd mutter as he sought to keep his eyes on the Hunter and pin it down if it were able to escape from Cap for whatever reason. The claws on this creature seemed just as dangerous as the ones on the infected from earlier that had attacked Grey. Which meant he had to be extra careful in dealing with them, more so since he had to remove his thicker layer of armor due to the spitter's acid.

Jenny just kind of stood there, too shocked from the idea that that thing was real and not in her head. Her gaze snapped back when a monster crashed onto the guy, attacking him without mercy. She watched as the others helped and got the thing off of him, and she watched as it quite literally skipped down the halls. She ran over to Nathan, suddenly not so worried about the thing that was locked inside the room, but much more worried about the things outside the rooms. She skid down on her knees, trying to see Nathan's face. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't think it was-" She raised the back of her hand to her mouth, stifling a sob. "I'm so sorry." She had watched a movie on earth a while back about zombies, but just thought it was mumbo jumbo. But if anything here was as crazy as it was in the animated film, she was forty percent sure he'd turn into one of those.. crazy things. "Let me- Let me see your cuts. I've done a bit of doctoring in my time."

Daniel stood there, in utter shock as this.... thing, just latched itself to Nathan. He watches as Jean found a gun and balled his fist. Maybe.... maybe I can pull it off of him" he mumbled, but his feet wouldn't move. Fear took place as he stood there.

Jean looked at Nathan for a few moments, contemplating whether or not to try and assist him, though, soon enough, that strange gal from earlier appeared to be on the case already; and she was doing a better job than he probably could muster himsef... So, he carefully raised his weapon, deciding to investigate the room with the zombie inside, in hopes of finding a key or something to open those cafeteria doors himself; he could actually do with a bit of a meal really.
