Delilah closed her eyes shut when she heard Marilyn's quivering voice. The poor girl looked and acted so sweet, despite her hidden intentions it had been actually hard for Delilah to be mean to her. Without her ghost's aid on making her seem terrifying, she doubted she would have been able to stand up for herself.

The group of Marilyn's new friends showed their concern for her when she was back in her seat. They all had seen how close to lashing out Delilah had been. Hopefully Marilyn wasn't cursed now.

During the rest of the class, between what had happened and how boring History was for her, Delilah could hardly concentrate. She stormed out of the classroom as soon as the lesson was finished. As she went out of the door, she almost rammed into a boy from a higher class. She muttered a rushed apology and went on her way.

The boy looked back at her wondering what was her problem, and then waited for Marilyn's group of friends to come out. The boy was wearing a large necklace with some strange symbol, a symbol Marilyn could recognize in her new friends' backpacks, necklaces, binders... They belonged to some kind of group apparently. "You okay?" The boy asked before he even asked for Marilyn's name. He was a huge empath, and could feel both Marilyn's and Delilah's lingering distress on her.

Marilyn was upset for the entire rest of the class period. She was trying her best to be positive and tell her friends that it was okay, she was fine, but she couldn't get the image of Delilah's expression out of her head. She wanted to focus, she really did, but she couldn't find it in herself. She sat quietly in thought for the whole period.

When the class was over, she was amazingly relieved. It was unlike her but she really did just want to go to her dorm and go to bed. As she walked out and towards the boy, she shook her head at his question. "I think I hurt Delilah's feelings." She whispered softly. "I didn't mean to, but she looked so angry with me... I'm already losing friends that I just made! It's my first day!" She complained. The way she said it was purposeful, she did it so that she wouldn't seem as upset as she was, but in truth her stomach was still turning. She felt sick with herself.

That was when Brittany approached from behind her. She wore the symbol on a little charm bracelet on her wrist, and she smiled at the boy. Quietly, she hugged Marilyn and looked at him. "Well, to cheer you up, I think we should invite you to come hang out with us tonight..." She said to Marilyn in a soft voice. She really was worried for Marilyn's sake, and thought that if the rest of her friends liked the new girl, maybe she could come join their little group. Brittany looked up to the boy's eyes for some sign of approval in the same way she would do when Sarah was present.

Marilyn bit her lip, "Hang out?" She asked, not quite understanding what Brittany meant.

The boy didn't hide his surprise at Marilyns words. It was unusual for a total stranger to be so open. He smiled in return, suspecting maybe this girl was an empath too, hence the feelings overload.

He looked at Brittany, and without giving the suggestion too much thought, he said 'We have a club meeting tonight. I guess you could join, but...' He shrugged his shoulders. 'It's not one of those clubs you can join just for fun. You have to be a spirit worker, and a good one. If you can summon a powerful spirit and bring it to us, you'd give us enough proof to let you in.

He offered his hand for a handshake. 'I'm Robert by the way.' His hazel eyes looked really warm and gentle. Lots of girls were head over heels for him.

Marilyn had looked up to meet his eyes with her own, smiling a little bit. The idea of joining a club sounded really fun, that would be like an entire group of friends who all liked to hang out. It sounded perfect! She knew for a fact that she couldn't have been a good spirit summoner, she had never done it before. But she supposed that maybe if she read up on it, she'd be able to do it easily. So as she took Robert's hand and shook it gently, the girl nodded. "I'm Marilyn... A club sounds really neat!" She beamed her smile at him. She wasn't quite sure as to why, but Robert felt like such a warm and kind person and she was excited to get to know him and even forgot to let go of his hand, continuing to loosely hold it within her own.

Brittany smiled brightly at Marilyn, "See, I knew you'd be into it! Now, I can't help you summon a spirit, but I can give you this." She reached into her book bag to pull out a little scroll and hand it to the new girl. The first few days of school were great for finding new club members so Brittany carried around a bunch of small scrolls with tips for summoning spirits. The scroll would list out the best places on campus to summon a spirit, the best times to do so, a list of spirits not to summon, and a list of spirits to call on in the order of hardest to easiest. People who summoned the easier spirits would often be accepted last while people who summoned harder spirits would be accepted more quickly and without hesitation.

Marilyn opened it with one hand, finally letting go of Robert's. She quickly skimmed over the advice on the scroll but then gave a large smile to them both, "Okay, thank you! I'll try really hard to summon a spirit to show you!" She said excitedly, quickly returning to her normal self.

Robert felt a bit awkward with how long Marilyn was holding his hand. At least he couldn't feel any nervousness or infatuation coming from her, but that made the strange gesture even more weird. Still, he didn't want to retreat. As the leader of the club, he didn't want anyone to think he was rude.

"Well thought." He commented on Brittany's scroll. That was an idea she had come up with by herself. It made them have to weed out lots of students to get to the good spirit conjurers, but at least it saved them the trouble of having to explain everything to each aspiring member. Most of them were bad or totally inexperienced, and he didn't want to have to play the role of a teacher to complete newbies. He was only interested in the good ones.

When Marilyn let go, he stuck his hands in his pockets, apparently standing normally, but really he rubbed his hand against the inside of his pocket. This girl was a little weird, wasn't she? "We'll be waiting for you. If you can get it done by tonight, we'll be hanging out by the graveyard. If not, just ask around for me, I'm well known around the school and people know where to find me." He showed the girl a last bright smile before waving goodbye and parting ways.

In the meantime, Delilah was facing a scolding from her ghost guide in her bedroom. How could she treat Marilyn like that, she had to try harder to make friends, play nice, yadda yadda yadda. It was like having her mom there in the school with her. She couldn't banish the spirit, as it was protected by her mother's magic, and she was nowhere near as powerful; plus the ghost was permanently attached to her through her tattoos, which she wouldn't be able to remove until she was an adult and could decide over her own body. She buried her head into her pillow, trying to be able to hear less, but the ghost kept scolding her straight into her mind.

Once Robert had departed, Brittany followed in suit and headed back to her dorm. This left Marilyn alone on her way back to her bedroom. When she got there, she found herself to be alone. This was good because it gave her time to sift through the text books her mother had bought her until she found one on summoning spirits. Now, Marilyn wasn't actually interested in this subject, she just wanted to make a few new friends and thought that this would be the easiest way to do so. That's why she didn't actually go too deep into her reading of the book. She just skimmed some pages for a couple of spells, wrote said spells down in a little note book, then she allowed her eyes to run along the words that were written on the scroll she was given. She didn't go too in depth in her reading of the scroll either, she just noted the time of 1am, and then wrote down the first spirit's name that didn't sound absolutely ancient.

After all of that hard work, she slipped on an amber necklace for protection, and took a quick power nap. She figured that even if she was trying to summon a friendly spirit, the experience might be sort of scary and she wanted to be well rested. Besides, the entire studying process kept bringing her mind back to Delilah. The new girl didn't really know much about what Delilah did or what necromancy was, she just knew that Delilah could speak to ghosts and she was sure that this subject was related. She almost thought about trying to make up with Delilah by going to ask for her help and pretending the event never happened, but she couldn't bring herself to leave her room. So she stayed in there all by herself and took a nap until it was time.

At exactly 1am, Marilyn got up and made her way to the school's courtyard. It was a beautiful, garden like place and on the scroll, it said that this was where she could be looking to summon her spirit. She chose the spirit that resided here specifically because firstly, what kind of evil spirit would be lurking in a garden? And secondly, the name 'Sarah Nicole Ravencroft' was a lot easier to pronounce than a lot of the other spirit's names. The girl did a quick look around of the area to make sure no one else was there, but luckily since it was the first night, a lot of the people weren't comfortable going out on midnight walks. She looked into her notes and took a deep breath, closing her eyes. She first moved into the center of the courtyard and lit a white candle, then placed a few different stones around it. Lodestone to the north for focus, Malachite to the east for Power, Selenite to the south for help in contact, and Unakite to the west for protection. After that, she murmured the spell she memorized, just a few words in latin and then the spirits full name over and over, steadily getting louder until she started to feel something. It was like, a sudden presence of pure power, of strength, but at the same time, something wasn't right. As she opened her eyes she saw that someone had blown her candle out. Glancing around, she saw that she was alone. In the dark. In the middle of the night. The thought alone made her want to panic, but she wasn't sure why. She wasn't scared of the dark and the light of the moon was still illuminating the area. The issue was that there was this impending feeling of doom, like someone was watching her, and that feeling was how she knew that she had done it. She had summoned something she just... Didn't know where that something was.

That was, she didn't know where it was, until she heard a sudden, piecing scream. She couldn't move, she couldn't scream, it felt like something was holding her in place and there was no way for her to escape. That was when she started seeing things. Every time she moved her eyes to glance one way, she swore that she was seeing something just in the corner of her eye. It wasn't until her eyes focused on the rosebush in front of her that she saw a dark, woman-resembling spirit edging towards her. She was struggling to try tand move, trying to thrash around and scream out for help but it felt like darkness was closing in around her, like her throat was closing, and she couldn't move a muscle.

There was no way for the young girl to know it, but everything that was happening to her was in her head. To her, crazy things were happening, it was like some sort of scary movie where she couldn't move. But in reality there was a kind looking, womanly spirit standing in front of her, barely floating off of the ground. Said woman seemed to be draining Marilyn's energy and any moment now the girl could pass out, and because Marilyn couldn't scream, the only sign of anything being wrong was the raw waves of power this spirit was emitting, it was likely that the whole campus could feel it, but if one didn't know what it was, they wouldn't know that something was wrong.

The rest of Delilah's day went by without highlights. She spent her time mostly chatting with the ghosts and spirits around her, unpacking her stuff, setting up her room the way she wanted, and failing to actually summon the spirit of her plant, the only spirit that refused to come talk to her on its own, as it was her tool for practice so she'd learn how to summon a spirit and start her path down necromancy for once.

That night she went to bed early, but woke up in the middle of the night. Back home she had gotten into the habit of waking up at some point of the night to go pee. She protested and squeezed her legs together, too cozy in her bed. But the need turned out to be too strong, so she got up, slipped on her fluffy pink rabbit shaped slippers, thrown a black tunic over her underwear, and made her way to the toilet. She didn't bother putting anything else on, since the bathroom wasn't too far away, and nobody would be walking around at that time.

A couple of minutes later, Delilah groaned as she saw the sign on the bathroom's door that said 'Out of service - Plumbing issues.' It was the first day of the school year, and they hadn't bothered with fixing that? Why was the monthly fee for the school so expensive if they couldn't even keep their bathrooms in good condition? She grumbled all the way to the next bathroom, and sighed in delight when she could finally relieve herself.

She started going back to her room, when she felt something strange in the air. A huge movement of energy. And paying closer attention, the presence of a ghost nearby. Was there a ghost causing trouble? If there was, a teacher should take care of it... She considered going to look for one, but then she looked at the general direction where she could feel the ghost. She had a lot of training in fighting spirits. She was at professional level really, she was a great duelist, and there was always the chance of the ghost not even wanting to fight, and going away after being explained to that what it was doing was wrong. Not a coward at all, Delilah trotted off following the ghost's presence.

She gasped when she saw the ghostly lady draining Marilyn, the huge currents of power being pulled away from the poor girl. Not only must the ghost have been a strong one in order to drain one of so much energy, Marilyn had to be quite powerful herself to hold so much energy herself. Clearly she didn't know how to use all of her energy into dealing with ghosts, or this wouldn't be happening.

Delilah didn't have her wand on her, but she did have a wand tattooed on her right arm, with the same magic ink used to write magic scrolls. She pulled back the sleeve of her tunic, revealing that tattoo, as she stepped into Marilyn's range of sight. Delilah raised her arm and pointed her hand at the ghost. "Enough! You aren't allowed to take this much energy from a student! Go away peacefully, or know that I will fight you and banish you from here. You aren't allowed here anymore." She spoke in a firm voice, to reassure her authority over the ghost. Most ghosts tended to leave once asked to do so, so it didn't hurt to try.

The womanly spirit's attention was completely focused on Marilyn, never drawing away even as Delilah approached. At least, until Delilah started speaking. For a moment she tried to ignore the young girl but as the tattooed girl continued on, the spirit released Marilyn, throwing the girl back. The brown eyed girl took a large gasp for air once she was released and she fell backwards onto the ground. Her body was trying to replenish itself, she couldn't speak, she couldn't move, all she could do was lay there and pant for air as she stared at Delilah. A few lines of tears were streaming down her face and she could barely breathe. In those few moments, she had seen all of her greatest fears and nightmares flashing right in front of her eyes and it felt so real that even when brought back to reality she was scared, scared that this reality was still apart of the trick... But as she stared through lidded, heavy eyes at her savior, she felt herself coming back. It was a slow process, but she was realizing that this was reality. She could barely hold a train of thought at the moment, but she could understand what was going on and she knew that she needed to seriously let Delilah know how grateful she was for this.

Even though the spirit seemed to be done with Marilyn, she quickly turned with a loud screech and faced Delilah, trying to perform the same energy draining spell on the tattooed. The issue here was that this spirit was of a young healer woman, Sarah Ravencroft, who was indeed very powerful, but all of her techniques and spells were severely outdated and would be easy to block if you knew what you were doing. The spell she tried to cast on Delilah involved a shrieking of the word 'exhaurire', and a flick of her hand. Spells like this were often easy to dispel or break for experienced fighters, but Marilyn had no way of knowing that. When she saw the spirit turning towards Delilah, she wanted to panic. She didn't want anyone to have to go through what she just went through and was trying to get up, trying to protest but the most movement she could manage was a rapid twitching in her fingers and toes.

Delilah repressed the urge to follow Marilyn with her eyes, as that single glance could leave enough time for the ghost to attack if it was a fast one. Just hearing her gasp and breathe was enough for now, at least the girl was alive. The muscles in her arm tensed as she noticed the ghost starting to perform a spell. So this was the ghost of a witch. She recognized the spell being used, and inhaled deeply to focus herself. In the past, whenever a warrior or duelist felt their energy being drained, they'd completely shield their energy system, but that carried the risk of fabricating actual blocks in the system, which resulted in all kind of health issues later. More modern techniques of fighting this consisted on constantly pulling one's energy back to oneself, completely centering the mind to avoid any energy robbing.

The duelist witch concentrated all of her energy in her stomach, a huge energy centre. She could almost see a white sphere protruding out of her belly as she gathered her energy there, and it turned too hard to pull away. She then took some of that energy and directed it up her right arm. Her wand tattoo started glowing. In battle one rarely had the time for incantations, sometimes even a single word could turn out to be too long, so duelists like her often carried the power in their voice through a single scream. Or growl. Delilah growled at the ghost, and she sent an energy blast, concentrated in a fine line so the ghost wouldn't be able to suck it up on time, and sharp as a sword.

The ghost had been carefully watching Delilah's moves, confused by what she was doing. It was true that this ghost resided at the school and knew that the newer techniques of duelists could destroy her in an instant. The only reason she had even stuck around and tried to fight with Delilah because she thought the girl would fall against her spell the same way the other did. Still, the power she was sensing off of Delilah was enough to send fear into her, and she knew that she was going to lose. That's why when Delilah sent the blast at her, she allowed her arms to fall to her sides and gave a ghostly smile before it slammed right through her torso. And after that? She vanished.

Marilyn had watched it all, barely able to comprehend what was going on but she just knew Delilah had won, and the thought brought a large, stupid looking smile onto her face. A smile far too happy for someone laying in the grass unable to move. She was starting to slowly regain feeling in her limbs, it was a dull numbness, but she probably wouldn't be able to move for at least another hour. Her body wanted to sleep. With Delilah here, she felt safe, she felt protected, and, she felt thirsty. She tried her best to raise some water from the near by lake for her to drink, but the most she had even been able to raise was a few drops and just doing that was exhausting. Still, she brought those few drops towards herself and let them fall into her mouth so she could speak. It was in a very quiet, sick sounding voice, but she could speak. "Delilah..." She called softly, wincing. Her throat hurt even more when she tried to speak, but she wanted the girl's attention.

Delilah's expression remained stern as she watched the ghost disappear. Wanting to make sure that she wouldn't be hanging around in a more astral plane, she activated her necromantic vision, but while she could see some ghosts in the distance, that specific woman was nowhere to be seen. She allowed her senses to come back to the terrenal plane, and then she heard Marilyn's faint voice calling out to her.

Letting the sleeve of her tunic fall to cover up her tattoo, Delilah trotted up to the poor girl's side and knelt down next to her. She carefully passed an arm under his neck, put her other hand on one of Marilyn's shoulder, and trying to not make anything hurt worse she made her sit up a little. "What happened here? Did that ghost just attack you out of nowhere?" Delilah didn't know about Marilyn wanting to get into the spirit workers club, or even of how she was almost paralyzed, so she didn't doubt about blurting out her question. "You should go to the infirmary. Tell the healer a ghost jumped on you."

Marilyn closed her eyes as Delilah helped her up. As she listened to the girl speak, she shook her head slightly to both suggestions. She spoke quietly and smiled, "It was my fault... Please don't take me to the infirmary." She whispered softly. The tired girl wanted to explain everything to Delilah in detail, explain the club, the spell, the fear, the exhaustion, and explain why she couldn't go to the infirmary. But, she slowly brought a hand up to place it atop of Delilah's and she smiled at her. "Thank you for saving me..." She whispered. "I-I just need some water and I'll be fine, some water, a bath, and some rest" The tone of her voice made her sound like this had happened before, and that was purposeful. She wanted to make Delilah think that she knew what she was doing with herself just so that the tattooed girl wouldn't take her to get any actual healing help. Besides, after falling face first into the dirt and mud, a bath sounded really pleasant. Just the thought of the warm water, getting dirt out of her scrapes, and playing with bubbles all brought a content smile to her face. "I'm really tired though... Help me get to the bathhouse? Pretty please?"

xxxxxxxx

Despite Marilyn's thankful smile, Delilah couldn't help but be concerned. She looked around and noticed the rocks and candle the girl had used, which made her understand why Marilyn was saying it was her fault. She didn't question why the first thing she tried to do on her first night at school was a ritual, to each their own. 'It's nothing.' She replied in a low voice, Marilyn's whispers making her speak lower without meaning to.

She nodded at the mention of a bath. 'It's a strange time for a bath, but if it'll make you feel better...' She lifted Marilyn up and tried to leave her standing on her feet. Seeing it was a useless ordeal, she passed her other arm behind Marilyn's knees, and lifted her up bridal style. Delilah seemed to be really thin under her tunic, but she had an athletic and strong body, and Marilyn wasn't that heavy to begin with. A short telepathic exchange with her guardian ghost made the spirit pick up the candle and rocks and put them in a pocket in her tunic.

"Do you need a change of clothes? If you tell me what your room is I can go pick you up some clothes. I might scare the hell out of your roommates though." She said as she walked towards the bathroom. The bathrooms, being public, had mostly showers, but each of them had a bathtub that the fortunate student who was the first to get to it could use. Being this late into the night, Marilyn would have the tub all for herself.

The exhausted girl was surprised with Delilah's ability to pick her up. She knew she wasn't big but Delilah herself was so small that she had never even imagined that the tattooed girl would be lifting her up with such ease. Being held like this was comforting though. That's why she found herself smiling and leaning her head onto the tattooed girl's shoulder. For a moment, she felt very happy that after what Marilyn had did, Delilah didn't hate her. And, this proved that Delilah really was a good person! This even was awful and mentally scarring, but being the positive person she was, Marilyn found herself content with knowing those two facts.

When asked about clothes, she opened her eyes and looked at the girl who was carrying her. She was nervous about sending Delilah to get clothes because in all honesty, Marilyn really didn't want to be alone right now. Being in Delilah's arms had made her forget about it for the most part, but in the back of her head she knew that she was tired, she was stressed, she was scared, and she didn't want Delilah to leave. At the suggestion, she tightly clung onto the other girl and squeezed her eyes shut. She had to think about it for a moment, but in the end, she knew she needed clothes so she spoke up. "It's room eight on hallway C, grab whatever you think is best or whatever you see but just..." She met Delilah's eyes with her own large, fear filled brown ones. "P-Please, hurry back? Bring my bubble bath?"

xxxxxxxx

Delilah chuckled a bit at the strange request. At a time like this, Marilyn's priority was a bubble bath? She nodded with a small smile and said 'Will do.' Some minutes passed, and they arrived at the bathroom. Delilah left the girl sitting on the floor next to the tub, and even started filling the tub with warm water. 'I'll be back quickly. I hope there aren't any teachers walking around at this hour.' She murmured before going away.

As she walked towards Marilyn's room, she wondered why was she going through this hassle for a person like Marilyn. She had embarrassed her in front of all the class, she didn't deserve this treatment. Delilah remembered her guardian's scolding about how Marilyn hadn't done anything wrong, and it was her own eyes giving everything a depressing tint and getting the wrong idea. She shook those thoughts off her head when she found the door she was looking for.

She opened it and walked in as quietly as possible. She was fortunate enough that Marilyn's roommates didn't wake up. She was as silent as possible when looking for some clothes and the bubble bath, and left with the items without completely closing the door behind her, not wanting to risk the click of the door waking the girls up, despite her own steps and rummaging failing to do so. Surely by now the bathtub would be full, so she hurried up to go back to the bathroom, not bothering to knock on the door, out of habit.

In the privacy of his own room, Robert, the spirit worker, was spying on the duo with a scrying mirror. He had decided to check on Marilyn after the club meeting, and left the mirror fixated on her just in case something interesting happened, and oh boy something interesting did pop up. Marilyn, despite her lack of experience, had managed to summon one of the most risky ghosts that were listed on the scroll Britanny had given her. And that other weird girl... Delilah had banished the ghost as easily as blowing a candle flame out.

Robert followed the girls with the scrying mirror all the way to the bathroom. Once they were in there, the image on the mirror disappeared. Those boys who had tried to spy on girls while they changed would know the bathrooms had protection against scrying spies. Robert had heard about it, so he wasn't surprised. He let them be for now, as he played with the idea of how these girls could be useful to him.

Once Delilah had left, Marilyn decided that it'd be best if she tried to get up by herself. The numbness in her muscles had faded for the most part and she was sure that she could do this if she tried her best. So, she stretched out her muscles, grabbed onto the wall, and raised herself to her feet. Afterwards, she took a deep breath but smiled, glad that she wasn't actually paralyzed or anything. The only issues left were how dirty she was, and the pain that was coming from the scrapes and bruises she had acquired when she was flung to the ground. Besides that though, she was feeling a lot better! She made her way to the mirror to look at herself, frowning as she did so. The girl was covered in dirt, her eyes were puffy because of her tears, and her face was slightly paler than usual. Still, she had seen herself look worse so she tried to be positive about it, moving away from the mirror and letting her thoughts travel somewhere else.

For a few minutes, she was thinking about Delilah. She thought about how cool she was, how nice she was, and how wrong every one else was about her. This tattooed girl was a gift, she was beautiful, kind, strong, independent, and she could stand up for herself. Marilyn really admired her. Shaking her head, she turned her thoughts away from Delilah. She knew she was doing all of this thinking to keep her mind off the scary things she had seen tonight, but she needed to be getting into the bath already. It was bound to be past two am and she was keeping Delilah and herself up far too late! So, she decided to make things quicker, using her power over water to fill the tub up quicker. Then she had to start getting undressed.

By the time Delilah had come back, Marilyn had her back facing the door as she finished taking her white bra off. She dropped it to the ground and turned her head when she heard the door. She smiled at the other girl, "Hey, look! I got up!" She said with a little giggle before she dropped her underwear and stepped into the water. Being sheltered, there were a lot of concepts she didn't understand, and one of those concepts was why people were always hiding themselves when they were naked. She didn't have much to see, just a normal body, so she didn't see the point of it. Still, she kept her back towards Delilah because she found out earlier today when she was getting dressed in front of her roommates, that not everyone wanted to see her entirely naked. She laid down on her stomach in the bathtub, welcoming the warmth and closing her eyes.

Delilah froze at the sight of Marilyn taking off her underwear; instead of hurrying back behind the door, her brain just went into short circuit. When she reacted, she was all red in the face, and protested with a 'Cover yourself up, woman!' averting her eyes. She was used to seeing the rest of the girls half naked when they had to change clothes for PE, but Marilyn now had taken her by surprise.

She walked up to the tub, eyes still averted, and passed the bubble bath bottle over to Marilyn. Without even asking she closed the bath curtain, and then went to sit a bit farther away. She should be heading to sleep, but there were some things Marilyn hadn't told her yet. 'So what the hell were you doing back there? Were you doing a ritual and the ghost came to bother you, or were you trying to do something to the ghost herself?'

Marilyn sat up and took the bubble bath, quietly pouring it in and mixing it around. She hadn't understood why Delilah closed the curtain when Marilyn was laying on her back, but she decided that it'd be better to go along with it. Humming softly, she listened to the questions and after Delilah was done speaking, the newer girl peaked her head out from behind the curtain so that she could look at the tattooed girl. "There's this club at school, and they said if I summoned a cool spirit to show them, they'd let me join!" She was smiling brightly and giggled, "I summoned one that was on the list they gave me though, I don't know why it attacked me..."

She used her magic to call a towel to her, allowing her to dry her hands before she reached her arms out of the tub to search in the pockets of her discarded pants for the scroll. When she found it, she opened it up and took the time to actually read it, suddenly understanding. "Oh, I get it! I read off the wrong list, she's on the list of spirits not to summon!" She tossed the scroll to Delilah so that the tattooed girl could see. She was quiet for a few moments after she tossed the scroll, thinking of what to say next. She had so many things to say to Delilah, she wanted to thank her for saving her, she wanted to tell her she was sorry, ask if they were still friends... Marilyn had a lot on her mind. While still keeping her head and arms in front of the curtain, resting on the side of the tub, she reached up to take her hair out of it's bun, shaking it all loose until it was out. Really, her hair flowed down to about her lower back but she always kept it up because of how energetic she was. All that movement and all of that hair wasn't a good combination, she was constantly getting it stuck in things, so she constantly kept it up in a bun. After she took it down, she spoke again. "So um... I know you saved me and all and I'm really grateful but... Do you still hate me?" She questioned in a quiet voice, scared the question might anger the tattooed girl

'Oh.' Delilah knew what club Marilyn was referring to. It was the Spirit Workers club. In her first year, since she sucked at summoning spirits, which was the most basic stuff to do before getting into necromancy, her older sister had suggested she got into the club, and maybe the people there would help her. She asked about getting in, but the requirement was to already be able to summon spirits, so she feigned disinterest and never spoke to the club members again.

Delilah caught the scroll in the air, and opened it to read it. Hey, this could come in handy, IF SHE EVER LEARNT HOW TO SUMMON SPIRITS ON COMMAND DAMMIT. For the moment, she'd have to stick to those who came to talk to her out of their own accord. She frowned when she recognized a spirit in the forbidden spirits list. It said it was a dangerous demon summoned by her to guard her window. And by that spirit's name, it was just her guardian ghost. Not a demon. She couldn't summon a demon even if she actually offered her soul to it. She sighed deeply. If everyone thought she dealt with demons, as necromancers were often misunderstood, no wonder everyone feared her.

She looked back at Marilyn when the girl started talking again. She looked kind of cute with her hair down like that. Not that she was an expert, she cut her hair out of the way because she had no idea how to handle it. She looked up at the ceiling, wondering how to word her response. "I don't hate you. But since you're teaming up with the rest of my bullies, I have to go out of my way to make sure you don't step all over me, you know?" She tried, despite knowing that bullies never responded well to explanations and reasoning.

Marilyn had been running her fingers through her hair and started to braid it. Braiding was a strange, but nervous habit of hers, she always would braid her hair when she didn't want to look someone in their face because it was something casual but also something that she had to pay attention to. When Delilah spoke though, she glanced up at the tattooed girl with a small frown. Teaming up? Bullying? Those were all things Marilyn didn't even know she had done! She didn't even know why or when Delilah thought that Marilyn was trying to step on her, but Marilyn didn't care. "I'm sorry." She stated, "I didn't know I was bullying you 'Lilah, I just wanted to be your friend..." She muttered as she tried to think about her day, all the things she had done and where she might've gone wrong. That's when she looked back at her hair with a furrowed brow until she finally understood. This had to be about Marilyn calling her scary! The girl's eyes widened slightly. It was clear that if anyone was scary here, it must've been Marilyn. The oblivious young girl had hurt Delilah's feelings and now Delilah must've been afraid of her!

After he realization, Marilyn looked back at Delilah with the biggest frown. "I-I... When I asked you why people thought you were scary, I thought you knew they said that. I wasn't calling you scary, I was just asking..." She whispered softly. "I think you're really cool, and when people say that kind of stuff about you, I don't understand. I mean, when you were mad at me it was kind of scary but you had a good reason... You must've thought I was being really mean..." Marilyn looked completely ashamed of herself, she honestly looked like she was going to cry again. After all of today's stressful events and now she was realizing that she was an accidental bully? She didn't know what to do except hug herself. She felt like such a big baby, this had to have been the third time she almost cried just today! School was a lot harder than she thought...
