The silence was strange.

Lucifer hated healers, he fucking hated them with a passion. They were always trying to fix and delay the inevitable, but for once in his life, he was fine with this. It would keep his host alive, it would give him time to make a plan.

Cameron felt better.

Cameron was shocked, as he hadn't expect this man, this Sith Lord to be a healer. He hadn't demolished the voice, he had simply given him strength to stay alive. He looked at him and didn't know what to say. " Thanks," he said to him. He took a deep breath and well, he gave great pause. " Can I talk to you alone?" He asked.

"...."

And he led the way into the galley. No one seemed to be there, regardless he waited patiently for the other to speak.

There was that damning silence again as he followed him to the gallery.

Caneron looked at him for a moment and then took a moment before he spoke. " Someone got into my head before we left. I don't know if this is good or bad since he seems to want to use me or protect me. I believe he mentioned his name being Lucifer Morningstar at one point. And to be quite honest, I am not sure he is trustworthy So could you do something to extract him or I don't know,"he said. He crossed his now muscular arms as he waited for a reply.

Hmmm....

The lightsaber activated and came up just barely touching Cameron's throat. Calmly, Shaitan spoke.

"I want to talk to the other man."

"Well ain't that ahella interesting partner. Explains why you're giving me double the headache of everyone else." Called Crichton, eavesdropping from the doorway.

He was referring to being able to sense the dualing destinies of Cameron and Lucifer, which put double the again on his poor achy shaky head.

The reason for his nonchalance wasn't the fact that he'd grown so cold a killer that killing a child hadn't bothered him, but he'd found a spark of life in her after the fact. She was a Sister, and that meant electrical activity was life to her. He'd promptly hooked her into a power source to induce a stable coma of sorts, aaannnnddd that's when she sorry of fused into the ships systems, nearly giving poor Wash a heart attack when her presence registered.

But back to the point of Lucy and Cam, he couldn't resist adding. "I know what that's like, believe it or not."

"I don't believe we've met."

Cameron looked at him as a lightsaber was held to his head, sometimes he should have known better to confide in either. " I will try to get him to talk."

He took a deep breath and his eyes flashed between blue and went to red and back. His expression was changed and the voice that came next was not his own. " Hello," Lucifer said through Cameron. " I would really like it to keep his head and I have no intention of hurting him," he said. A lie. This mortal was simply a meat shield to him.

Peter watched, wondering where some of the others were. He hadn't seen Cameron in a while and it worried him. The strange man just stared at them, how unnerving.

Would he kill them? It depends..... One thing for sure, Shaitan's eyes weren't bluffing. Thankfully, they made landfall and he hummed quietly before extinguishing his lightsaber.

"Your lucky day it seems."

It was unclear who he was talking to.

Shaitan passively, pushed the barrel of the pistol down away from Oddjobs face. He then placed his hand on her shoulder and under guise of a squeeze began to radiate healing. She had gone under a massive amount of stress of late. It would be.... Dangerous if they conducted the meeting with her thus and armed.

Lucifer wasn't hurt in the slightest that he was called out. Killing him wouldn't be easy and he wasn't about to deny the fact that he was using Cameron like a fiddle too. He wasn't about to let his meat shield be killed, that was why he had controlled Quill to stay.

Would he kill them? It depends..... One thing for sure, Shaitan's eyes weren't bluffing. Thankfully, they made landfall and he hummed quietly before extinguishing his lightsaber.

Cameron didn't doubt the Sith Lord would kill him, there wasn't a doubt in his mind. He knew when someone was bluffing but that was far from a bluff. He breathed a temporary sigh of relief.

Whose lucky day was it though?

Was it Jack's, his own or the demon?

Cameron and Lucifer both didn't know either.

Later... . .

Quill looked over to see what was going to go down. He wondered what the strange Sith was doing, but he didn't dare to ask. He noticed how quiet Cameron was and that was worrying. By this point, he would be giving him some exposition about this man based on his movie knowledge. He had practically gushed over everyone in the past.

But it was different now.

Cameron watched carefully.

Lucifer knew a good con when he saw it, perhaps he should allow the man to do his stupid gushing.

Genji still had yet to introduce himself. No intention of doing so, either. He would protect the best interests of the innocent, regardless of what that took. Unfortunately, few of those present would likely agree with him, based on his observations. About midway through the flight, he stopped hiding, coming out with his arms crossed. His green visor scanned those present with a certain piercing glare as they threatened each other and made empty gestures of power. Fickle. Foolish. He murmured to himself in a derisive tone, "Orokamono." The ninja turned away and those in the cockpit would find a new person present with the only clue without turning around of his arrival being the bright glow from his armor, which he had not hidden. "... What sort of place is this?" He looked down at the planet's surface. "And who is Goldfinger?" Without waiting for answers, he moved away. His hand never moved from his wakizashi when they touched down. Coming from a crime family, it was easy to recognize a den of thieves, and worse.

"
It is not a good sort of place, I take it," He observed warily. "Be careful. Men of character like these often have no fear when money is at stake." Oddly, he knew Zenyatta would have loved this place. The monk so intently sought to save lives and protect the innocent, this kind of city was like a playground for him. So full of lives to touch. People to change. Genji gritted his teeth, despite how fondly he remembered his mentor and how much he wished he was here. Anger drowned the positive feelings out. After a bit, he effortlessly dissapeared, watching the exchange in silence.

Jack was beside Shaitan at the meeting with Oddjob, facing the man with the collection of other classic sci-fi heroes. They had a Predator, a Sith, a cyborg samurai, an Astronaut, a bodily displaced fake Time Lord, and Star Lord. John and the TEAM could suck it.

Crichton was staring at Odd job with a quickly growing fury that could only be explained with a flashback.

Flashback
A set of college seniors sat on a cramped and overstuffed couch, the table in front of them littered with the cords of gaming controllers and various junk food snacks. Most of their attention was glued to the TV in front of them, where a blocky representation of Pierce Brosnan was attacking and being attacked by various other figures, most successfully by an Asian midget that no one else seemed to be able to hit.

"Come on man, we agreed no Oddjob." That day Crichton swore revenge. One day, Oddjob would pay.

Flashback End

Crichton simply let the others lead and did his best to resist shooting the shorter man.

oddjob-crushing.jpg

Oddjob's straight face slowly shifted into a half smile, his cheeks raising to such great heights that it was as if his eyes were to be crushed into his forehead. Oh, how he loved the absence of the threat of murder! He tipped his bowler hat at the mention of his Boss' name, and once more at the mention of such good business; to think that Auric had considered abandoning the world, the Nar Shadaa market becoming dryer by the day. Perhaps such a meeting could persuade him to continue living on the planet a little longer...

Oddjob had, of course, been given full authorization to track, follow and monitor the Falcon by Auric, mere moments prior to their landing. His Boss had been wary of their presence above one of his buildings...which raised some suspicions as to their intent; were they planning a heist? A terror attack? Or had he forgotten to pay his protection money to the League? Yet, judging by Shaitan's remark, they but humble business men-- that had made things so much easier for him-- and far less bloody.

The hit-man directed the crew towards a rather fancy speeder, with the appearances of a flying Bentley. Dark metallic doors, gold plated frames--it was undoubtedly a gift from Goldfinger himself- and was just large enough to safely fit everyone inside comfortably.

With little to no further preparations, he carried the Crew off to his Boss' balcony

******
The Bentley came down upon the concrete balcony with a crash, the fault breaks of the shuttle giving way against all of the new weight. It was only a short walk between the landing site and the glass doorways to Auric's office, much to Oddjob's relief. Due to the number of individuals he was transporting, and the fact that he had to walk ahead of them to open any doors gave them many, many opportunities to slip out of his site- even in times of peace, he would have to remain diligent

When the tall, foggy office doors finally opened, the true nature of the building within could be seen. It had been made to replicate a Victorian Manor house of Earth, most likely to incite a sense of nostalgia within the owner. The walls were coated in large oil paintings of its founder, each one more glorified that the next; a strong man, firm in build and in heart, dressed in a pristine suit against a velvet wall provided a contrast to the round faced, tiring real deal. Patting the sweat from his pink brow, Auric Goldfinger made himself known, a string of words escaping his pudgy lips, disguised in a sweet, Swiss accent
Goldfinger_by_Gert_Fr%C3%B6be.jpg

"Ah! Hello, Dear friends!" The Businessman dropped the table phone that he had been holding within his firm grip prior, and let it fall onto his lap; To hell with the petty complaints about his worker's rights, he had guests "I regret that I could not come to greet you myself, it was only that I did not understand your intentions" He outstretched a hand towards his man servant "I take it that you have already met my guard and servant, Oddjob. I also regret that all words you may present to him are wasted-- he is yet to understand the English Language fully. Regardless, he knows what he needs to know" Oddjob tipped his hat once more.

"Now now- I believe that we should start with the introductions prior to use moving towards business. Would you care for a drink? A Scotch, perhaps? I have both an extensive and expensive collection..."

Now would be the perfect time for an interrogation- to catch the man off guard with a deal...or ultimatum

"No..." She whimpered, sluggishly "I...can take care...of myself..."
"I know."

It was a calm, quiet undertone. So quiet only Sarah would hear it and utterly unlike the darker voice the Shadow Guard used for his normal speech. Slowly, he continued to pour in healing as he caressed the back of her head and removed her pain the best he could. In the same quiet tone, he added.

"We need you at your best. You're no good to anyone fighting a migraine."

At that point, it was time to leave however.

And he dropped his hand from the back of her neck, walking towards the landspeeder in his usual quiet tread.

Atop the Falcon, cloaked and hidden from view, Kiande would be watching with intent interest as he slowly, rubbed his thumb over the flat of a knife.

Now that was interesting.

For his part during the drive, Shaitan would be silent. Immovable and disdaining conversation in favor of memorizing their route.

Deciding to take the lead, Shaitan approached and spoke.

"I represent the Tyranite Cabal. And I have thrown in my lot with these people."

He gestured towards the party as he pulled a seat out with deference for Sarah Conner as he continued.

"This woman represents the Hellfire Club and these other gentlemen are her honor guard. You understand, in times like these."

True, from a certain point of view. Shaitan was both building up Sarah Conner as well as explaining the other companions. Whether what he named himself to be was part of a bluff to make himself sound good to Goldfinger or not, was another story. That helmet made a good way of preventing tell reads as he continued.

"What we have to share, regards a very...Sensitive matter, regarding the Nova Corps and could harm them greatly in scandal should their actions be made known. Enough to allow a clever man to thrive in these troubled times. It is our gift to you, in exchange for something so small in return and completely within your power. But power is what directs Nar Shaddaa in whole, isn't it?"

He turned his gaze to the window and added casually.

"You've done well for yourself at least. The Hutt Cartel leaves you be?"

Jack also decided to throw his weight in behind Shaitan's impressive naming of credentials. Problem was, he was a Dreamweaver, known to few and acknowledged by none. Now John on the other hand....

"And I'm John Crichton, Organization Captain..." If he was gonna bluff, might as well make it sound good. "... Acting on the Overseer's direct interests. My boss is interested in Nar Shadaa, but isn't looking to step any toes. So, he sent me with a gift. Information. All he requests in return is a small hint as to what kind of competition he would have if he attempted to partner with you."

A bold faced lie. All of it. What's more, he could sense the real John's fate shifting from all these lies. A butterfly flaps it's wings in China...

John would survive. He was immortal. Jack was the one that needed to look after himself and the crew of the Serenity II. One little kid in particular.

The cyborg tensed at the contract, but did not withdraw immediately. His eyes under his visor flicked from target to target, including the man with an arm around his shoulders. The strange alien had cloaked, and was likely keeping watch. Good. He'd like to be with him, but, in broad daylight with no crowd to shift into or roofs to hide on, vanishing was much more difficult for him. Not that it would matter, as everything was going peacefully enough so far. Maybe it would stay that way. He remained silent during the greetings, more or less giving off the persona of a bodyguard. Maybe his odd weaponry would scare off thoughts of acting out.

Cameron was fine with what was being said and he realized that he could be quiet for now and no one would- well, that wasn't going to work, everyone else staked their importance, even as a member of Sarah's guard and he got nothing.

Top pocket, unbutton it and repeat what I tell you to say, Lucifer thought in Cameron's mind. He went into his pocket and looked down, a solid brown wallet. It looked very ordinary to Cameron and he opened it. The only thing in it was two cards, one a business card, the other a bank card. How strange. He looked down and saw the card gave him a club name, The Lux. Lucifer fed him what needed to be said.
" I work for Lucifer Morningstar, owner of the Lux nightclub, the popular one throughout the galaxy, he also wishes to take down whoever corrupted the Nova Corps," he said.. It was however, believable since very few knew a lot about Cameron Goodkin, but not to all.

Peter Quill looked at Goldfinger. " I represent The Guardians of the Galaxy, they have a personal vendetta towards the Nova Corps," he said to the man.

Goldfinger made his was towards the claret cabinet with a fast stride- these men were straight to the point, business before please- and if they did not wish to drink in a time like this, he certainly did. He surveyed the contents of the cabinet like a hawk, desperate to find the perfect drink to consume on this occasion...

Of course, a quick brandy on the rocks

He carried a small, half filled glass back to his desk in a single, red hand, careful not to spill a single drop of fine drink. Yes, of course, it was mostly ice, and it was hardly an expensive claret, but alcohol was alcohol to him; it was still a good distractions

Upon returning to his seat, the glass would find its way to a leather coaster situated at the top corner of his surprisingly clean desk. Auric adjusted his jacket, check the time on his old golden pocket watch and spoke; now it was time to listen

"You have my attention, Mr...Im sorry, I did not quite catch your name" He took his first sip "The Nova Corps are like rodents-- you can never truly be rid of them. I presume, of course, that the scandal you have proposed will open the doors for say...a hostile take over by an entrepreneur such as myself?"

"Please! The Hutt Cartel are nothing more than puppy dogs chasing their own tails-- They're so afraid of the Nova Corps they are barely active any more!!!"

****

"Okay...fine"
Sarah muttered barely staying awake. Unable to defy the healing for much longer, and with her body failing as it was, Connor slipped unconcious onto one of Auric's couches

"Pleasure to meet you, Captain! I have heard so much about your...operations" The glass was raised again, and another sip was taken; this meeting was at risk of devolving into a long day... "I am always interested receiving new business partners...but I am perplexed as to what the 'Overseer' wants with this word-- I can barely tolerate it myself-- Its all night clubs and sewers- nothing worth fighting for" He continued to dab the sweat from his brow- damn, his drink was not cool enough "Yet, if your Masters are willing to persist, they only have one occupational hazard to overcome--- My sponsors are rather...old fashioned, when it comes to payment...I will go into more detail...when you uphold your side of the bargain"

From the corner of the room, Oddjob gave bodyguard a cold stare. The metallic man was strong, stronger than most of the dried up fools who tried to do business with Auric...And that made him a threat. Perhaps their intentions were not entirely based around business- they had been asking some unusual questions about their current partners and the like- it was most perplexing. He reached his hand towards his hat, ready to strike against the Cyborg at a moments notice...or at the drop of a hat

Well, someone was straight to the point
"Oh, Sir! You are neglecting one of the biggest secrets of the universe- the Nova Corps have always been corrupt, and that's without listening to all the ghost stories. Just ask anyone-- you cannot trust them with any one, or anything" Hence why he smuggled...

He said simply, his helmet preventing anyone from seeing where his eyes flicked briefly before he focused on him again before he held up the Black Box.

"Have you anything to play this by any chance in this room?"

Genji did eventually notice Oddjob's open stare, and he stared right back. His hand had still never strayed from the blade at his side, though his posture and demeanor always remained defensive at their worst. He was confident he could stop anything his opponent could dish out. His voice, always a bit robotic yet very human at the same time, ring out. Even as he spoke, though, his gaze didn't move from Oddjob. "The Nova Corps could not always have been so corrupt. I believe that, when the organization began, it had good intentions. Now, though... They are gone. Worse yet, they have the power to act. 'A man who has never gone to school may steal a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.' Roosevelt. It is of the utmost importance that they fall."
