Nessa O'Toole aka Emerald Dream

More than anything else, Nessa caught a look in Cap's eyes. She is smart enough not to turn and stare. She calmly finishes the last of her coffee. She does by body language and Cap's own calm look know it isn't something to worry about.

" Time to go ? "

For a brief moment, she considered the possibility that she might be in over her head. Without being a stuck up egotistical snot, she didn't believe so. What she once lacked in people skills, she had been catching up with in the last several months. Both with Rin and her homeless friends. She had successfully maintained a secret life away from it since moving in with Rin. She would have to tread carefully. She and Rin had stepped into it now.

Welcome to the big leagues !

Rin actually facepalmed. Spider-Man too? How are they going to cover that one up? Not that she wasn't thrilled to be meeting him - she was - but way to stand out? Weren't most spiders brown or black? Why the red suit? She might ask him that later. Rin also decided that with both Cap and Spidey in full costume that discretion was moot - until they moved on to another location.

"Ano... We should go see what Spider-Man wants, then... decide how to move forward."

She stood and began walking out, waving to Cap and Emerald to follow along. And, just to give a little credibility to her station, she drew her wand as she got outside and did her transformation sequence - yeah she wanted to impress them.

Rogers palmed his face as soon as he noticed Spider-Man stuck on the diner window.

I swear, kid's got a good heart but no sense.... he thought in wryly, half-amused and half-annoyed.

To Rin and Nessa, he agreed, "Yes, time to go." The captain tossed some bills onto the table to pay for their meal and escorted the girls out. "Spider-Man," he hailed to the wall-crawler, "alley to the side."

He directed all three to a side-alley where they could talk in private.

"Emerald Dream, Rin, meet Spider-Man," he said by way of introductions. "Iron Man recommended him for admission into the Avengers after he helped out on 'the Vulture' case a while ago." Rogers then gave the much-younger costumed hero a stern, paternal look. "And, as I recall, Stark wanted you to keep things low key."
 
Right after Cap told him to meet them in the alley, Spidey quickly saluted and lept into the air, landing on the wall of the building opposite the diner. As the trio came to meet him, he waved at them. "Hey everyone." he said pleasantly, unsticking himself from the wall as he dropped to his feet. But as Cap started talking to him about keeping things low key, Spidey sighed. He should've known this was gonna happen. "Yeah, he did." admitted Spider-Man, balancing on his heels a little sheepishly. But as he looked back at the others, he tilted his head and crossed his arms. "But if I can say so, Cap, most people in New York are used to seeing me in costume walking around. You on the other hand... It's a little weird, if I'm honest."

After he uncrossed his arms, Spidey walked over to the group and looked them over. "What're you guys even doing here anyways? Normally I don't see many costumes around Hells Kitchen apart from Daredevil. Something up?"
 
"But if I can say so, Cap, most people in New York are used to seeing me in costume walking around. You on the other hand... It's a little weird, if I'm honest."

Rogers smirked at that. "You got a point, kid. This wasn't my first idea."

"What're you guys even doing here anyways? Normally I don't see many costumes around Hells Kitchen apart from Daredevil. Something up?"

Rogers only needed a moment to consider letting the wall-crawler in on their plans. The kid had heart and his power-set was very versatile. More importantly, he knew New York. "I'm trying to find someone of interest to SHIELD. Presumably, they've been taken captive by the Hand organization. These two young ladies are going to help me track the Hand down, starting with making some inquiries to Luke Cage and talking with Colleen Wing." Then he rapped his knuckles on his blue helmet. "But first, I need to get some civvies."
 
"Luke Cage? Power Man?" Spidey asked. "What's he got to do with the Hand?"

But he figured that the time for questions would come later, especially since Cap's reference towards his costume made Spidey realize that they were going undercover. "Oh." he said before his eyes popped open wide with realization. "Oooooooh."

Rubbing the back of his head abashedly, Spider-Man nodded and bit his bottom lip. "Yeah, that would make sense. Mind if I tag along? I'm trying to track down some info on the Hand and my last lead was a dead-end."

Rin... Just stood there. Her arms were crossed and she was disappointed that her transformation sequence didn't even rate a raised eyebrow from Spidey.

It was Captain America. He hogged all the attention unwittingly.

She sighed and nodded. "Fine. Yes let's go get clothes for Mr. Rogers. And if we're going undercover, how are you going to, Spider-Man?"

Nessa smiled at Spiderman, "nice to meet you !. Might I suggest the Goodwill store roughly three blocks west of here ?"

She moves deeper into the shadows and mumbles something in Gaelic. When she emerges, she is wearing torn jeans and a t-shirt with short platinum coloured hair.

" So, this is me,phone number available later. And Spidey...nice and tight dear ! Call me Nessa."

Azalia

Rolling around several times Azalia finally managed to get herself to wake up. Head ringing from the events of the night before the young woman only managed to sit up. Running a hand through her hair she got out of bed and walked over to her bedrooms window. Turning the tinting down she let light in and also let her see out. Taking in the massive city scape of New York it was one she woke up to every day.

But, unlike normal individuals Azalia did not see it with her own eyes. A creature just to the left of her had its face smushed against the window. Being almost blind she had managed a way to see through these... creatures. The view only lasted for a few seconds before the creature looked up at her. It was unusual, she could see herself and she wasn't looking into a mirror. Being used to movement from a third person perspective she turned and homed in on the creature.

Picking it up she tore the head of the creature straight off before carrying it over and setting it on the bed. The headless body began to try and find its head. But, struggled long enough for Azalia to shower and dress. Quickly making her way out of the room she closed it before any of the rabbits could escape. Letting out a sigh she took a deep breath and turned to begin to walk down the hallway. Smacking into something only three steps in Azalia recoiled unsure of what she hit.

"You are late. Come on."

The voice alone made her relax "Yeah, well there were some problems. I like sleeping." she chided back to the man.

"Yes, well... you need to wake up before twelve. By the way, the reviews were great for the concert." The man continued on.

"Cool, I have a huge headache, so I am not surprised it went well." Azalia said before she felt something pulling at the edges of her head. Fighting it mentally the intrusion ceased but she managed to miss everything the man was telling her. "What?" She asked before he shook his head.

"Nevermind, it isn't that important anyway." The man finished. "Where did you want to go today?" He asked opening a black cars door.

"Well, I don't know New York great. So, I really want something good to eat." Azalia said getting into the car.

"Well, it may be in a bad-" Azalia cut him off "Cypher, I was homeless a majority of my life. 'Bad' neighborhoods are more like home than this nice hotel."​

Harlem, mid morning

Jimmy rushed towards Power man's bar. Jimmy was rushing because news traveled fast. Often the first with news got some sort of reward. He at least knew Luke Cage, and likely there was at least a small meal out of it for him if he got there first.

Jimmy's job(s) include keeping an eye on the neighborhood for Luke and various odd jobs for the neighborhood merchants. Jimmy was honest and didn't deal with any of Cottonmouths people. Jimmy was poor, but always had food, and usually a roof over his head.

Finally arriving, he ran into the unlocked service door in the back. Looking around, he could hear Power man setting things up in the main bar room. He made his way there straight away.

"Luke !, Hey Luke !, I got big news !

"Something tells me that we may as well just go. I can go to Colleen Wing's dojo, and maybe take Emerald with me, and you two in full... Ano... Uniform? Can go talk to Mr. Cage?"

Rin had tasted all the curiosity and suspicion in the air and had seen a man dash off like he left the water running in his bathtub. It was clear to her that subtlety was just about moot by now.

Luke had had an easy night last night, so he figured he would get started early today. While He was working he heard one of the guys coming in the back door. The guys usually ran in like that if they had some news. He didn't like it when they had news, because it was usually bad news (and they were often so excited to tell it), but it was better to hear it this way than some other way. When he turned around, he saw Jimmy coming in.

"What's up Jimmy my man?" Jimmy would probably be hungry, so he put down the chairs and went back and turned on the stove.
 
New. York City, Harlem

Young Jimmy Drexall was clearly excited, and it seems in a good way.

" Luke, I heard Captain Flag Man is in Harlem Man. He's eating up at that diner up towards the edge of Hells Kitchen. Got two ladies with him, an Asian and a white chick all in green with a big stick. What do you think he's doing in Harlem Luke ? Maybe them Aliens coming back ?"

Now mind you, Jimmy was just excited enough to get that out in what seemed to be one breath.

Harlem

The black car drove through the city and soon found itself located outside of a dinner in Harlem. Cypher looked back at the unmoving form of Azalia "We are here. Its in a rough area but, their food is something to be worshipped.". Opening her door herself she got out and instantly could see herself from a decent distance away. Although not able to see the creature she was gaining vision from, she knew where it was and it seemed to be coming closer.

Out of a dark alleyway came a dog which immediately made its way up to Azalia. She knew what it was, but she knew her body guard wouldn't. Before it could get any closer Azalia snapped her eyes onto it. Its form suddenly began to shift violently. Before Cypher turned around the creature was no more. In its place sat a very weird looking mug... with a tail. Not realizing her fuck up she made her way inside of the diner with Cyphers help and soon found herself staring at a very basic menu.

Bringing the menu up and nearly against her face she skimmed over the entire thing before putting it down. "Ill just get a burger cooked more dead than a shoe, a vanilla milkshake... and a basket of fries." She said without skipping a beat. The waiter looked at her "Your such a skinny girl. You eat like this all the time?" the woman asked. Azalia nodded "I normally eat more, but... yeah. I eat far more than I probably should but it doesn't bother me at all.".

With their order taken Azalia turned her attention to the nearby window. Cypher picked up on the subtle body language of Azalia and spoke up "Something wrong?" he asked. Shaking her head Azalia hid how she was feeling rather well. But, Cyphers profession was to be observant.

Down the alleyway came a man in a yellow suit. He walked up and then crouched, picking up the mug. After examining it for a moment he tossed it into a nearby dumpster, shattering it.

"Impressive work without a ring." He mused, chuckling. The man whistled lightly and a bright yellow bug flew under and attached itself to the car Azalia and Cypher had come in. "Let's observe you for a little longer before we give you our proposition, shall we?"

With a second chuckle the man disappeared in a skyward streak of light, one hand above his head and on that hand, a ring, throbbing with bright yellow energy.

Rogers nodded his agreement at Rin's suggestion to split up to follow up the leads on Colleen Wing and Luke Cage separately. It was probably for the best, considering Spider-Man would be joining them. He handed Rin and Nessa each a small earbud communicator from his utility belt.

"SHIELD comlinks, set to my own frequency," Rogers explained, pointing to his own earpiece underneath his helmet. "Go check out Colleen Wing and let me know what you find out."

Then he turned to Spider-Man, handing him a comlink as well. "All right, kid. You get to add another piece of Avengers tech to your costume. You know the streets better than me. I'll need your help to lead me to Luke Cage."

Harlem | Luke Cage AKA "Power Man"

"I hope not, my insurance only covers half the bar's repair costs if we get hit by aliens." he said in a half joking sort of way. He was curious what Captain America would be doing in the neighbour hood. He wanted to believe that it didn't signal any danger, but by now he had learned that the arrival of any big leaguer on his doorstep meant things were about to happen.

And he was just about to have such a good morning too. He cursed under his breath, and turned off the stove. He got out his wallet.

"I would make you something myself, but I gotta run. Here's seven bucks. Get yourself something nice."

After Jimmy left, he called bobby fish to watch the shop while he was gone. The man would be here soon enough. Luke had a subway to catch.



Thankfully Cap stood out like a sore thumb by the diner so he wasn't that hard to find.

"What if he finds you?" Luke said as he walked up to them in the alley "Sup cap. I appreciate your work. What brings you to these parts? More aliens?"

" Silly Rin, luck of the Irish ! "

Nessa was dressed in her street cloths atm, not her all green with illusory green hair and sunglasses. Cut jeans, ragged looking white t-shirt and patchwork tennis shoes, though all clean aside from the shoes.

" Hello Mister Cage, my hero name is Emerald Dream. I moved to New York from Seattle about a year ago. It's nice to make your acquaintance ! "

As Rin and Nessa introduced themselves to Cage, Rogers had to wonder if Rin had a point about this location being a magnet for the superhuman. Usually when this many superhumans were in one location, a fight was breaking out. "Luke Cage, a pleasure," the captain said. He gestured to each in the group in turn. "I think you know of them: this is Rin, Emerald Dream, and Spider-Man. We're tracking the Hand ninja organization; they captured someone SHIELD has an interest in. We were hoping you knew something."
