This, is National City. Home of CatCo Worldwide Media, West area LuthorCorp, Lord Technologies among other things.

National City is a bustling city that lies between Los Angeles and San Diego along the coast of California, and home to several million people.

Of course, strange things seem to happen here on the regular. Strangely, the city seems to take all of this in stride, maybe partially do to the masterful spins that CatCo seems to put on nearly every unusual event.

It also boasts a large university National City University, touted for its teaching and law programs.

At a nightclub in the tourist section of National City.

This very night a wonderful performance had entertained the crowd.

But now, every exit is covered by terrorists, men and women of a group calling themselves Cobra.

A few phone calls get out before something begins to block internet and phone access.

For the moment in the backstage area, people were more speechless and stunned than panicking. It was known that the building was surrounded, even the back way performers were used to using.

Mac Beveman himself was calm, but more on the inside that on the outside. He wasn't fearless in a helpless situation, it was just that he had been in them before. He reflected that the terrorist's objective had not yet taken shape, unless it was to siege a building. That seemed unlikely, and the more likely objective was that they wanted someone inside. In which case that might or might not be Mac himself. The only things he was sure of is that he could not get to safety, and that the alien could.

"Let's get that thing off" Mac said lifting the shark mask from her. He knew she knew something was wrong, and he was more concerned that she would make it worse. Her fear began to break into his awareness.

"Starr, you'll be all right. I want you to go up that stairwell, blow a hole through the roof and get out of here. They'll shoot at you, but all you gotta do is get a few blocks down. We both know they can't hurt you long with those guns"

He did not need the ability to read her heart to read her facial reaction to this, no one would. Fear and anger. There was no part of Starr which would like this plan, it was against everything he knew her to be.

He took her hand gently, imploringly "Look hun, I know you'd as soon start fighting with them: but that's the trouble. If you were to start, they'd start shooting at the audience. It can't be all about protecting me on this one"

Already having her hand, Mac breathed in again and kissed it, now finally beginning to let go of his feelings.

"Starr, these last few months since you arrived have been the best of my life. If I don't make it through this, then..."

Starr withdrew her hand, slapping Mac's face hard enough to leave a print. As he moved his head back to center, she kissed him more passionately than ever before.

As she moved silently to the stairwell Mac had indicated, Mac turned to the people backstage who had just seen their dancing shark turn into an alien and say goodbye. "Allright boys, I don't know what's coming, but even if it's the worst I know we need to go out true to ourselves: crazy and stupid. Get back on the stage boys, we'll start with Party at the end of the world"

National City, the Luminary Night club.

In the back stage area the frightened performers and support people watch Starr leave. They are loyal to Mac though and start preparing for performance when two armed and armored cobra men enter the room. One moves over to the roof access stairway. The other starts to talk.

" If everyone will sit down please, this will be over soon with a little luck. "

He does not point his gun at them, but halfway between the ground and them.

From the roof, or above the roof, Starr will see the other heroes arriving in a Helicopter. There are a virtual horde of police around the club though.

For those heroes who paid attention, there is a large front door, one side door, one kitchen area door and one stage door. The stage is raised about three feet.

Our heroes too will see Starr as they arrive. Mike, might know about her race ?

Nearby to where they are landing, the group and Starr will see this man.

"Allright, we can take a seat boys. Doesn't really look like it's us they're after. I guess there's some benefit to not making it to the top after all" Mac said, analyzing the layout "Might be layed out a little thin for any kind of mass slaughter. Feels more like a drug bust than anything else. Anybody whose been in this band very long knows we've been through worse than this. " Mac said, eyeing one of his band members.

Mac's expression involuntarily changed for a minute. He was expecting to feel Starr's surge of excitement followed by harm or sorrow...instead it had changed quickly into curiosity. The alien hadn't left.

upload_2017-5-17_0-53-57.png

Starr flew off the roof, seeing "cops" and "chopper".

Star's thoughts, roughly translated: Nothing attacking. Maybe danger is only inside? Mac is scared, but less. Can I bring Mac out?

Starr looked at the helicopter and the people in it, and since it was no shooting at her paid it no mind.

How many predators? What are they like? If Mac is less scared, can they really hurt her at all? Fishing.

Starr's face turned from fear to malice and mischief as she turned back toward the roof. She created an illusion of herself starting to come down the stairs, then disappearing. She waited out of the line of sight and hoped one of the cobra men would come.

Mac's feelings reached her again. She knew that He knew that she had changed and was up to something.

Mac Jerk. She thought, feeling mixed emotions.

Mike Matthews and Winn Schott

After the helicopter arrived on the rope, Mike awoke from his nap and looked around the area. He was sure he could figure out what he needed to do and he could punch the bad guys. That was the important thing of being a hero, destroying the supervillains

Mike sadly didn't recognize the species. He had never paid attention the politics of anything really. He looked over at Winn and looked for something to punch.

Meanwhile, Winn made sure he was in a safe corner away from the danger.

Molly did her best to try and wake up Mike, since they were supposed to be looking out for one another. But after the first couple times she gives up. She's a babysitter, not a handler! But she does note that he's been playing a game on his phone. Maybe Molly needs to introduce Mike to her awesome gamergurlskeelz.

She presses her forehead to the window she sits near as the helicopter approaches the scene to try and see everything. And all the cops. Huh… wonder if they'll try to arrest her. Again. Boy that would be embarrassing for them, since now she has backup! She doesn't even spot Starr, her attention to focused on the cops and the building itself. It's not out of any kind of NOT wanting to see her or anything… Molly would be fascinated by her. Namely because she thinks aliens are awesome. At least most of the ones she's met.

The helicopter lands and Molly leaps out as quickly as she can, taking a few strides towards the scene. Her hair and heroic (ragged) cape sway wildly with the currents coming off of the slowing helicopter blades. Hands on hips, she looks up and down the building, as if coming up with a plan. But really she's thinking about a strawberry milkshake from McDonalds.

And that's when she spots him.

Her eyes fall on Iceman, and she immediately lets out a loud "AUGH. The X-Men are here? All they could send is lame-o Iceman?" Iceman would actually recognize Molly, since the X-Men have tried to recruit her. Much to the chagrin of… well just about everyone that had to interact with Molly. Especially Emma Frost… and Wolverine… and Beast…

She is about to say more to Iceman, something about him just staying out of their way and once again how he's lame. But she doesn't. She crosses her arms over her chest as she stares at him for a few moments, then the building, then him, then the building. After a few moments of that, she looks to Lexi, waiting for her orders. It's actually surprising she just didn't run in, as her first instinct was to do. Because she's Molly, and that's what Molly does.

Alexandra K aka Huntress

Huntress pulls out what looks like a tablet and moves over to talk to the officer in charge. After a bit, she waves the other heroes over to her and the four of you tour around the perimeter of the building. You can all see she has something of an x-ray view of the inside of the building. There seem to be men digging just in front of the stage. There are three man guarding doors and three more keeping an eye on the civilians who are all up against the north side of the main room.

"Alright folks, there are only two in this back area with this group of backstage people. We have to move quickly. I will make a hole in the wall here with my sword. Iceman, you move in first and put a wall of ice between the guards and the civilians in the room. Mike, Molly you guys take out the two guards. Everyone got that... Move quietly, the whole point of going in this way is to do so quietly. There is a whole other room to deal with afterwards. "

Huntress looks around at the gathered heroes to make sure they understand, taking perhaps an extra moment with Molly and Mike.

On the roof, Starr has made her illusion and it goes down the stairs. This seems to alarm at least the two guys in the backstage area, using their radio as one moves towards that stairway to investigate. Two more men move quickly into the room from the main club area, guns poised.

As they are waved over, Molly scampers towards Lexi, wondering when she's going to be able to knock down some walls and bust some heads. She does pay attention to the briefing, hopping up and down in place as she does. She looks in the direction of the building excitedly as she is given her marching orders with Mike. And when Lexi goes to make sure her and Mike have the plan in their heads right, Molly just constantly and absently says "I know. I will. I know!"

They break the huddle, and Molly calls out towards her crew "And try not to die!" Her favorite battle-cry. Iceman goes into action, and Molly is dashing towards the first of the guards. She'll take one of them, let Mike try to handle the other. But she'll of course be keeping an eye on him, just to make sure he doesn't get in over his head. And that guard seems surprised that suddenly there is some kind of disturbance. He seems almost disoriented for a moment, which is the perfect chance for this child to slip in under his radar. Literally. The guard starts to raise his rifle towards Molly, but she gets to him first. With a soft grunt she punches him right in the gut, pushing him off of his feet for a moment. He actually throws up in his mask from the force of the punch, crumpling into a heap into the fetal position. And as he does, Molly flexes and stands over him… well she hops foot to foot as she grins widely. "Ha ha you suck I win!" She exclaims softly.

She looks in Mike's direction as she still hops from foot to foot… but it's then she notices something else.

The guard's name is Kadar Sabry, and he hasn't been a part of Cobra for terribly long. Originally, he was a bounty hunter working in the Middle East mostly. He sometimes did mercenary work, but he preferred bounty hunting. It was usually foreigners that the ruling warlords (whoever they were for the week) needed gone. But that changed when United Nations Special Forces swept through the region and killed most of those warlords, most of his employers. He had gained a reputation in the region, and that's why Cobra recruited him. He has been in 3 firefights already wearing the blue and black uniform. He doesn't mind killing, especially when he thinks he's fighting against tyrants. Against the false promises of freedom democracy offers. And tonight, he finds himself at a guard post in National City… the United States of America. The US is just as bad as he had heard it was. He was happy to bring his gun here, to help the cause that is Cobra.

Kadar stands at his post, and for a moment he sees movement down the steps. His eyes narrow as he draws up his rifle and gives chase, moving with an efficiency born of a lifetime of fighting. He gets to the bottom of the stairs, and now sees they've been breached. He mutters to himself "Ebn El Sharmoota" and he dashes forward, raising his rifle.

And this is the part where Molly comes in. She saw him coming, and she now runs right at Kadar, a wide grin on her lips.

Now say what you will about Kadar…but he wholly believes that what he is fighting for is right. And the paycheck doesn't hurt, he does have a family to feed. And part of that family is a child, no older than Molly. Seeing someone coming at him (before it registers) he draws his rifle up and aims it at Molly as he comes to an abrupt halt. His aim would be flawless, he's a crack shot. But he doesn't pull the trigger. He hesitates… he is suddenly very confused. All he sees is a child coming at him, and for the first time in a very long time he has no idea what to do.

He has murdered many in his life, captured and been responsible for the deaths of many more… but he will not fire on a child. Of course, he has no idea he probably couldn't hurt Molly bad at all with that rifle… all he sees is a little girl. He sees someone as young as his own boy. Kadar starts to lower his rifle as his mind tries to catch up.

And that's when Molly gets to him.

She grabs the barrel of his rifle, that barrel bending a little with the force of her grip. She yanks it from his hands with his shock, his eyes wide as he watches the rifle being pulled away from him just like that. And once more his mind is yet to catch up to what's happening… and that's when Molly uses his own rifle like a baseball bat and cracks him in the side of his head. His head whips to one side as he stumbles, seeing stars. His helmet took a brunt of the impact, I mean that's what it was designed for. Molly continues to grin widely as she now snaps the rifle in half, tossing the halves away. "C'mere!" She says as she reaches up and grabs the front of his uniform. She hefts him up with one arm, holding him over her head. She then slams his down to the floor as she grits her teeth, her eyes glowing a bright pink color. Kadar hits the ground hard, passing out from the impact. His helmet is cracked, his head having a small injury now, bleeding slightly. Molly stands over him, her chest heaving with excitement as she tries to catch her breath. But…

She sees his helmet is broke, and some blood. "Oops" she says softly, and she kneels down as her eyes stop glowing. She undoes his helmet as she speaks softly, ninja mission and all. "Hey buddy, 'm sorry. I didn' think I hit ya that hard… ya know? Ya got intern hurties? Don't be mad at me, kay?" She probably means internal injuries, but can't think of the words. She takes off his mask as she stands, hearing him groan in pain. She smiles and gives the unconscious man the thumbs up. "There ya go, dude. See ya didn' die." As she stands over him she puts on his helmet, giggling to herself. "Oh this helmet is awesome! Even if it's broked… Imma hafta find a unbroked one…"

And as she admires the fit of that fine helmet, one of the other guards draws his sights in on Molly, and she has no idea he's there…

Mike and Winn Schiott

Mike was carefully and went to hit a few guards. After knocking out a few of them ( hopefully, he noticed that there was a guard who was drawing himself closer to Molly. Mike threw himself at the guard and growled. Nobody was going to hurt the adorable little twelve year old. She had started to grow on him, he wouldn't admit if he asked you though. He hoped that it wasn't too late.

Winn found a corner to hack.

Seeing the wall of ice forming before him, Mac felt relief at first, knowing that Starr would perceive that. It was not long before that same of ice led him to discomfort. Cold was one of his least favorite sensations. To distract himself, he started to play and make a song.

"Cold cobras. Heroes, the band, and cold cobras.
Feels like I'm in manitoba
Everything seems to be wrong"

Lately, internet's selling cheap airfare.
I've got to fly to Saint Somewhere.
I'm close to bodily harm."

Starr's mark climbed the stairs, looking to his right and left. Unaware that the real enemy was floating above him

Starr unleashed her fury, driving laser blasts into the back of his spine.

The man fell over and slid back down the stairs, Starr hovering much more gracefully down with him as she felt Mac's emotion change again.

She observed the scene as something like; Humans in uniform attacked normally dressed humans, and abnormally dressed humans attacked the uniformed humans.

It did not fully make sense to her, but she was confident enough about what side she wanted to be on to send a levy of laserfire from both hands and body toward anyone she saw wearing the cobra uniform and still moving until she started wincing painfully at the cold temperature.

National city

Backstage at the club

After a few moments, the several Cobra men who had invaded the backstage area were unconscious. One by Mike who had almost managed to shoot Molly was probably the worst off.

Huntress saw that her people were being efficient and moved towards the door into the main area. Once again using her x-ray device.

(( quietly )) " They don't seem to have noticed the noise, but we won't have much time. There are ten more. Four are in a hole in the middle of center stage. There are three covering the remaining civilians over on the left. Two by the front door and one last one with a silver head... up on the stage itself. Iceman, once again, go and put up one of your walls to protect the civilians. Molly, you take out the two by the front door. Mike, silver head is yours. I'll take out the four in the hole.(( She finally looks over at Starr )) You miss... if you are willing, you get any that get the upper hand our move to escape. Whoever finishes theirs first moves to help Iceman with the three by the civilians. Whatever else happens, we protect each other, we protect the civilians, and we don't kill. "

" Everyone clear ? and HEY... be careful in there ! "

Stands tall as she tries to get the Cobra helmet to sit right on her little head. It's a helmet made for a good-sized man, and broken. So she doesn't have a lot of luck. "Stupit helmet…" she mutters as she tries to get the strap to work. And then she hears a sudden sound behind her. "Ah!" she cries out softly as she jumps a little in surprise, almost peeing herself. She spins on her heels to look towards the source, the helmet falling onto the abdomen of its owner. She blinks a few times as she sees Mike taking down the guard, and she thrusts her hands into the air "Yeah getit Money!" Her eyes then go wide and she covers her mouth, looking towards Lexi, hoping she didn't mess up by yelling a little too loudly. But, she didn't. Fortunately, this time.

Molly sprints towards Mike as she grins widely, her hand held up in the air as she does. Of course intending to get a high five. "HereHereHereHereHere" she chants as she gets close to him. But.. the look on his face tells her that he doesn't know what the heck she's asking of him. Which isn't a truly and utter surprise. She huffs as she stops near him, hand still in the air, and her other hand reaches down to grasp his wrist. She brings his hand up and slaps her hand against his raised hand. "yeah!" she says as she lets go of him, nodding up to him.

They are then called over by Huntress, Molly motioning to Mike to follow her as she skips over to Lexi. She stands next to Huntress on her tippy-toes to try and see the screen she holds, but she can't really tell what she's looking at. She looks at the screen, then the door, then the screen, then the door with confusion on her face. When Lexi calls on Iceman, she kind of wrinkles her nose. She doesn't say anything this time… but he's still lame. She wants to run and find a bottle of soda and order him to make it cold for her, and then inform him that's about all he's good for. She keeps that in the back of her head for when they have time for that. Because that's just hilarious right there.

Molly's gaze snaps to Huntress when she hears her name. "Front door guards… silver head guy" which just sounds odds "Help Iceman cause he always needs help." She nods and gives the thumbs up "Got it!" Her eyes move to Starr as she smiles widely, nodding to her. "Welcome to team awesome!" she exclaims excitedly to Starr. And she looks back to Huntress, thrusting her fist into the air "Clear!"

And with the marching orders given, Molly turns towards one of the side doors leading from the room, cracking her knuckles. She then blinks and turns to face the correct door, giggling a little to herself as her cheeks darken a little "Wrong door. It's that one." She says as she glances to the group, pointing to the correct door now. She clears her throat lightly and once more cracks her knuckles, and she charges towards that door as she grins widely, her eyes now glowing a bright pink color.

She draws her open hands back as she closes in on the door, and then thrusts them forward as she shouts out "BOOSH!" and the door just explodes outwards, along with some of the wall the door is installed in. The guards grunt as they stumble back, one of them having enough awareness to start firing on Molly. She blinks and stops, her arms coming up to cover her face. The other guard falls to his knees from the force of the exploding door/wall, but he's recovering quickly.

"ow ow ow ow OW STOPPIT!" Molly cries out as the bullets bounce off of her skin, but they'll still leave very minor bruises. It's not that they hurt all that much, Molly just doesn't like being shot. Again and again. Kind of annoying. She charges towards the guard that's firing on her, him pulling the trigger as quickly as he can to try and stop the rampaging child. Now Molly's getting upset, and that's no good. She draws her fist down as she nears him, the bullets still ricocheting off of her body. She punches the gunner as she grits her teeth, feeling tears in the corners of her eyes. Again, the bullets don't hurt a lot. The tears are more of a psychological reaction rather than a reaction to physical pain. The man simply… just goes flying from the force of her punch. He cries out as he is flung into the air, landing near the stage and losing consciousness almost immediately.

Her glowing eyes snap towards the other guard, who seems dumbstruck for a moment as Molly leaps at him. She grabs him by his arm and hefts him up a little, her other hand pressing on his abdomen to haul him over her head. She then starts to run towards the group of civilians that Iceman (lame) is helping, and she cries out as she carries the guard towards them "RIIIIIIIOT!" With a soft grunt she hurls the guard towards the other group of guards, sending him hurtling like a missile at them. He slams into the three guards, and Molly leaps into the air excitedly as she throws her hands up. "GOT EEEM!" She continues towards the guards as she grins widely… but suddenly she's starting to feel really tired…

Starr blankly stared at the instructions the human Huntress gave, not understanding much except that it seemed like she was invited to do something. It took the enthusiasm of the younger Molly and the use of the word "welcome" to confirm this notion.

Even though he could not see or hear well through the ice wall, Mac felt her confusion and sent a simple text. HELP CATCH

Starr looked down at her small screen and then nodded to Huntress. Starr was enjoying the action and wrecking havoc upon those that threatened her human host.

"I just hope she doesn't go overboard" Mac mumbled feeling Starr's confusion return to fun and excitement.

Starr flew in the door Molly kicked down, heading for the second time that night toward the maneuvering space of the stage area, this time just looking for the right uniform to shoot at.

Bobby Drake aka iceman

Iceman slid into the room just a bit behind power Squirt. He liked the kid, he really did, but , she was going to get someone hurt some day. Crazy west coast Huntress woman risking lives taking Molly out like this.

He noticed behind him that the squirt was taking bullets. He threw balls of ice at her attacker, to distract and throw off his aim.
Sliding fast into the room now, another ice wall went up to protect civilians. As power squirt headed for the men nearest him, he froze their feet to the ground. Another distraction that made the kid look good.

He looked around, it looked like Molly was going to swoon, he made a big pile of powder snow to fall into.

Mike Matthews/Mon-El and Winn Schott

Mike was happy that he had helped to clear the first room and was ready to go out into the next room and he listened to what Huntress had to say and nodded. It seemed like he was going up on stage and that was something he could do. He had a feeling that Silver Head was not an ordinary guard. It might be the fact that he had had a silver head, but as the others fought, he stepped onto the stage.

What would Supergirl do in a situation like this? She would make herself known and he was going to follow her lead and he looked at the silver head girl. "
Hey, ugly, do you like to hurt people?" He asked, raring to get his attention. Once that was done, he would punch the man in whatever weak spot he could find.

Winn hacked in a corner.

National City night club.

The silver headed super agent turns as Mike tries to taunt him. Mostly because the statement was largely true. As Mike was setting up to clobber him, the bad guy pulled out a weird looking gun very quickly. Just as Mike's fist plastered his jaw, a flash going off.

The super agent flew across the room into a wall and slumped over.

Meanwhile, at least for the moment...Mike was conscious, but could neither see or move.

Mike was happy that he was getting the punch and didn't know what the gun did. He had his question answered when he was sent across the stage and couldn't see or move. It must have been some sort of immobilizing thing and there was nobody who could help him. He was screwed if he was attacked.

The super agent flew across the room into a wall and slumped over.

Winn was about to rush over when he paused and saw who entered... Was he here to help or hurt? He looked at the man. " How did you know to be...?

Liam also known as the Music Meister grabbed Mike's hand to lend his hand. He was going to need a little of the man's strength to be helpful though. Thankfully, power absorption was a thing.

With a wide grin Molly confronts the last of the guards that were guarding the hostages. Well threatening the hostages. Thanks to Iceman's intervention, there was really not a lot they could do to the innocent people there. But all Molly sees is that she's tearing shit up. She gives a thumbs up to Starr as she nods to her. "Yeah! Get 'em!"

Her eyes glow a bright pink as she closes in on the guard, and just as he draws his pistol to start firing at her. She squints a little and holds her hands up, as if to protect her face from the bullets. Again, the bullets won't do a ton of damage (even at this range), it's more instinct. He takes a step back as Molly gets inside of his defenses and grabs the hand holding the gun. She yanks hard to draw him down to her, and she gives him a good right cross, his head snapping to one side as he falls unconscious. He'll wake up with a heck of a headache, but he'll wake up.

The guard slumps down on top of Molly as her eyes start to lose that glow, and she looks in the direction of Mike to make sure he's okay. He took care of the silverhead…but something's wrong. She hefts the guard's body up and kind of tosses him aside as she watches Music Meister close in on Mike… she doesn't recognize him… and Mike isn't moving at all. Like weirdly. "Hey! Let 'im alone!" She cries out as she turns towards Music Meister.

But luckily for him, Molly's all plummed tuckered out.

She lets out a little growl when she starts towards him, but she sways in her steps as she shakes her head. "Gotta… help… Money…" she utters to herself, and she then falls backwards… luckily right into the snow provided by Iceman. By the time she hits the ground she's asleep, her power all used up by now. The bullet impacts will leave little bruisers, but they are what caused most of her power to be expended so quickly.
