Rhonda looked anxiously at the water. "Guys in the front can you pick up the pace a little? Cause I really don't want to deal with anything that's in water."

"That could have gone better." Cap half shouted over to Daniel due to her ears being shot for the foreseeable future. "Let's just move out and see what we'll find."

Soon enough they would have found themselves some place new again. "Continuing on the path would be easy...but leaves us wide open for any attacks..." Then again...it's only a matter of time before they are going to get attacked again so might as well have a clear sight on the target right? With that Cap would continue on the path to see where it might lead them.

@Ryu Keiko
Conveniently for the group, Captain America had cleared a convenient path through the tunnels and out into the next environment.

The wind and cold snip at you, causing quite the whiplash after just emerging from a desert environment. You can spy Cap, Daniel, and Ash up ahead.

Following along the path, eventually the group find a lone cabin.

It looked warm and inviting. The path ended here, so perhaps this was a place where you could rest?

Daniel laughed as he heard Cap, though he wondered why he was talking so low.... The ringing in his ears seemed to last forever and it was quite annoying. "I'll follow your lead Cap!" he shouted loudly, not really noticing his yelling. He followed him along the path until they reached the new terrain, and didn't argue the decision made to follow the path. He followed along quietly, watching around for anymore traps.

The man's mouth opened wide as Catherine extracted his blood. He seemed content with this, though Emily's punch quickly knocked him out cold before he could really enjoy it, if that was even what he was doing.
As for Catherine, Locus glared her way even if it was obscured by his helmet. Emily at least had the excuse of being less than mentally stable. This one seemed to take some sort of erotic pleasure from her 'procedures'

"Keep the sadism down to a minimum."
Oh, she could never get enough of that sensation...

The syringe was not nearly as big as the ones back in her office, but it got the job done. Watching the man crumple, pale, anemic...Oh, oh, yes, yes, she needed that, she deserved that marvelous satisfaction! A shiver raced up the nurse's spine as she pulled the needle back out of his skin, now filled with a good amount of his blood. He may be a bit of a madman, but he sure had some nice juicy veins. Catherine's tongue rolled over her lips. Though...Now that her moment of ecstasy was over, she could very well keep this blood for more pragmatic reasons. It was possible he had an infection she should know about, after all. She pocketed the syringe.

Catherine paused to look back to the strange helmeted man who seemed to want to...Judge her practices. She just looked at him, blinking innocently, and then flashed him a big toothy grin. "Oh dear, seems I made the poor man faint. I just can't help myself sometimes...~" She tried to sound utterly innocent, though something in her eyes and smile most certainly betrayed that intention.

Well, at the very least she could get out of the heat. And the possibility of dinosaurs was now out of the question. All the better!

Embracing her newfound warmbloodedness, Catherine clasped her hands behind her back and walked into the snow, off towards that very nice-looking cabin. Maybe it would be a break. But she doubted it.

Still, it put a wall between you and the snow outside. It was something, at least. While the lights had appeared on from outside, they didn't seem to be working now. Whether it was your imagination or something cut the power while you were coming in, you can't be sure. A fireplace sits in the living room , waiting to be ignited. There's a possibility that the power could be turned back on in the basement of the cabin, but you can tell that it would be rather dark down there.

Nodding towards Nezumi, Locus continued forward with both men slung over each shoulder. Their combined weight did indeed put what might have been an unnecessary strain on Locus. But to be left to your own devices in a place such as this where the dead walked and retained their intelligence from before they passed on and dinosaurs? It might as well have been a death sentence. What that said for him and the rest of the others here? Well, so far most of them had done a good enough job of staying in one piece. If they could stay that way, then perhaps they'd find a way out of here.

As he walked, Catherine's words lingered with him. That look in her eye had belied the words she had used to try and convince the mercenary that she had merely gone too far on the man without knowing it. But he had seen that look before. It was the look of someone who knew full well what they were doing and they thrived on it. Felix was one of those people. But he didn't thrive on just the killing alone. No, that was just a very much welcome bonus to the monetary pay. Felix could have whittled down the inhabitants of planet to planet if it meant getting the paycheck at the end of the day whereas Locus saw it as just following orders. That was where Felix differed from this woman. His pay-off for being needlessly cruel and sadistic was monetary and not erotic. This woman got her kicks with that needle of hers. Implanting it into whoever she could come up with the easiest excuse to jab them with.

He knew he played a key part in making Emily who she was. Bringing in body after body for her to mend. She had to build up a wall to cope with the death and gruesome injuries that came her way as a medic. Eventually, she got lost behind said wall and her sanity would never be the same. But he had his doubts, however founded they may have been that this woman didn't need any trauma to make her the way she was. Something had to be done to deal with someone with her attitude. Or else it could risk being a possible issue later on down the road.

Slowing down in his walk but keeping enough of a pace to stay in line with Catherine, he'd whisper to her. Quiet enough so that only she would have a good grasp on what he said. But firm enough that his tone still carried through.

"You might be able to bat your eyelashes and fool any of the other males in this group. But I've seen people like you. I know people like you. You can write off what happened back there as just you getting too caught up in the moment. But if a time ever comes where your need to pleasure yourself through inflicting pain on others overwhelms the need to keep this group together in a cohesive manner? I'll act and I assure you I'll be as thorough as need be. Just keep that in mind." The mercenary warned before continuing on to the cabin.

With as many creatures as there were roaming around, stopping to catch one's breath seemed like a luxury. But he didn't know if this cabin they'd found was full-proof. Most likely it wasn't. But even he needed a moment to rest even if he had to keep his guard up all the while. Making his way over to the couch, he'd set the two men down upon it and glanced around. Large in numbers the group may be, they'd be in trouble if they didn't find some way to turn the power back on.

"We shouldturn around" Ash muttered point toward the cabin, his once juvenile tone evaporating. "I've been in situations like this before, and trust me, never trust an abandoned cabin in the woods; the cold is always worse." A smile creeped across his wide face "Besides..." He looked at the Captain "maybe we'll have to find some other way to keep warm...?"

Leo pulled his coat closer to him, glad that he'd worn so many layers. The Doctor, meanwhile, pretended that he didn't notice the cold.
'So, now that the gang's all here, I assume that we can compare notes, perhaps find out which other scary monsters inhabit this place? Or if we could all panic and start pointing guns, but I think that I perhaps prefer the first option, don't you?'

Shion rubbed his arms. His button up shirt and slightly singed sweater barely helped to keep the cold from setting into his bones. He didn't have his coat with him, which caused a bit of dissapointment due to timing of how helpful it could have been at the moment. Though, Nezumi noticed this and took of his scarf before wrapping it around Shion as a cloak. The white haired male could always count on Nezumi's trusted scarf. :D

"And while you guys do that, some of us could see if the power can be turned on. Or, if there's any surprises waiting to jump out." Daniel smiled as they stepped into the cabin. Warmth! He thought as he walked in. Well not that much... But way better than being out there! He thought and shook himself slightly. The ringing in his ears seemed to lessen, which was great, even if he still couldn't hear as best as he could. He listened to the others speak of plans of action and smiled. "I wouldn't mind helping out with the power. I can be a bit handy with tools and wiring if need be." He said speaking a bit louder than normal. "We can also see if there might be any food lying around." He noted.

"Oh yes, precisely my thoughts! I was about ready to offer to cook a meal out of the surrounding vegetation and fungi or perhaps even this egg. I procured it from the pteranodons! They were circling around like vultures and even had two people strewn up in their nest! It could have been bad but I helped so now it's okay. They wanted to eat us, and I reply that I've never tasted pter-meat before." She stared longingly at the object in her hands, gloved hands caressing it slowly. "But that sounds good too!"

Rhonda had felt like absolute shit after their little sewer trek and the freezing cold was not helping matters. Noticing the cabin however would lift her spirits slightly as she made her way towards the entrance and the merriment continued when she saw who was inside. "Cap! Oh thank lord!"

A wet and cold embrace would envelope Cap as Rhonda gave her a hug. "It's nice to see you too Rhonda." While the ringing had subsided somewhat Cap was still on the more louder side. "Let's get a fire going so that we can get you guys warm. After that we can figure out to get some power going in here."

With that both women would head to the fireplace where Rhonda would ignite whatever combustible materials that had been placed inside with her flamethrower and then sit down to try and get herself warm again.

Unfortunately for Ash, it seemed the group had decided on heading into the cabin.

Perhaps if Emily kept that egg warm, who knew what could happen?

As the fireplace began to burn brightly, Nathan mumbled in Locus' arms, but what he was saying was too muted to understand. Captain America's radio would turn on, static bursting from it at first. After a moment, you could hear Alvin, though the connection seemed to be experiencing interference. "Is everyone... how long to the... the bite? If he's showing signs of... hear me?"

Then, it was just static.

As discussion about who would head into the basement continued, you would all hear a somewhat familiar voice. "Someone... Anyone.... Help!" Those who could place the voice would recognize it as one of your group that have gone missing-- Huang Rong. The voice was distinctly coming from the basement.

Shion frowned as Alvin's attemp to contact them didn't work out to well. Then, he heard a familiar voice and perked up.

"That sounds like Huang." He said to Nezumi. The white haired male looked up at his companion who took on glance at him and sighed.

'This guy.' Nezumi thought with a small shake of his head.

"Alright, you screw heads, listen up. Anyone who is anyone knows then entering an abandoned a in in the woods in like jump straight down to hell; there are always demons or Deadites waiting to swallow you soul. I don't care how familiar that voice is, heck, I don't care if it belongs to father freaking Christmas, there is no way whoever it is is still alive. I've been in this situation before; my sister ended up getting possessed, so we locked her in the basement, and every now and again she would cry out In her old voice crap like " Ash raised his voice to a mockingly high level, just as he had done to annoy Cheryl when they were both kids ""Save me Ash, I'm okay" and "I'm not evil anymore!" So we tried to let her out... And she killed three good people" he snapped back into his serious mode". I don't know about you, but I don't want a repeat of that, thank you very much. We're not going down into the basement, end of story. If you won't to through the lives of everybody here down the toilet, you are going to have to go through me"

Ash began to search the house for anything he could use to defend himself with, candle sticks, hunting equipment, buzz saws, anything...

"Alvin.. Alvin!" Sherlock yelled, groaning as he held the radio tightly. "Fire.. Yes, warmth..." He groaned, but upon hearing the sound of yelling, he pulled on Alan's shoulder. "Alan Wake, there's somebody in danger!" He pulled the pistol from his belt, before entering the basement with the gun pointed down.

As Alan was pulled along with Sherlock, he gave off a loud "Woah!" Before getting settled on his feet. "I got it Sherlock. Don't need to hold my hand." He says annoyed before he took out his revolver. He was beginning to get low on ammunition, and maybe even Sherlock, as he began running down into the basement.

The Doctor shrugged, and looked at Nezumi and Shion. 'Change pf plans, we clearly have to savew Huang. Anyone coming with me?' The Doctor had alwayas been someone who'd change his mind in an instant. In fact, he'd already began making his way towards the basement with the others.

Leo, on the other hand, decided to speak up. 'Um, I'm with Ash on this one, what if it's a trap? There's no point sending everyone down there-'
He was really unsure on how to get the others to listen to him. He leaned towards Ash. 'Just so you know, if they all die, I still think you're right.'

Considering your wet clothes, it would be suicide to wander the cold wilderness. You have no choice to make your trek toward the cabin...

---

Nothing stops you from entering the lone cabin. With Jean leading the way, you step inside to find it's not quite as warm and inviting as it looked from outside.

ompYJ2q.jpg

Still, it put a wall between you and the snow outside. It was something, at least. While the lights had appeared on from outside, they didn't seem to be working now. Whether it was your imagination or something cut the power while you were coming in, you can't be sure. A fireplace sits in the living room , waiting to be ignited. There's a possibility that the power could be turned back on in the basement of the cabin, but you can tell that it would be rather dark down there.

Captain America and Daniel would find the ringing in their ears to lessen, though sounds would still be slightly muted for them.

Rhonda, Leo, The Doctor, Alan, and Sherlock would then step into the cabin, soaking wet.

Jean was a ltitle more concentrated on unwrapping the strip of cloth that covered his ankle, scrutinizing the bite carefully, he was feeling a little dizzy, but... It seemed he had yet to feel the worst of the effects yet, though upon hearing Nathan's voice, he looked up "We might still have time... But, we shouldn't stick around..." he muttered, looking back down at the bite, trying to determine how bad it was...

Nathan and the scientist were still both out cold, though the scientist looked deathly pale. His breathing was irregular, indicating that he likely wasn't doing so good.

Ash and Leo would find a box of flares and a flare gun at the top of the stairwell leading into the basement. Candle sticks could be found around the room, and some of the furniture could be fashioned into weapons. The cabin did contain a kitchen with chef knives, though mostly everyone had picked up knives at some point earlier.

For those who decided to check it out, the basement was cold and uninviting. You were plunged into darkness at the landing, finding only a stone corridor awaiting you. A blood trail stained the floor and you could hear Huang's cries from further within the basement, leading you into a room filled with winter clothing and supplies. Jackets, coats, snow pants and shoes were stored here. Off to the side was another room, this one containing the water heater. Your flashlights would then come across the electric box in the corner of the room.

For those of you who decided to stay out of the basement, nothing out of the ordinary occurs. In fact, it's quite peaceful. As Jean checked his wound, he'd find that it looked about the same as it did before. However, the skin around the wound appeared to have darkened slightly. A fever hadn't set in yet at least, indicating there was still time to reverse the process.

Just keep that in mind."
"Oh I'd never disrupt the...Morale of the group...~"

The mutter was more to herself, her eyes skirting up and down the man's armor. With this passing glance, she could confirm there were no noticeable and/or exploitable gaps. Which was a pity, Catherine thought, proceeding to pay this horribly judgmental man no heed as she entered the cabin. Someone with such a strong will should have similarly strong blood to match. Besides, she would need a healthy sample if she was ever to study the blood she drained from the madman, and while Catherine was rather healthy, she was not about to prick her own finger.

The inside of the cabin was warm. Inviting. A welcome break from the perils of dinosaurs and their eggs. She took the moment to preen herself a little: Smoothing and fluffing her pink hair, readjusting both her little nurse hat and the arm band on her dress, dusting off a bit of sand, making sure all her pocketed needles were in order and that the one blood-filled one hadn't begun to leak or anything. It had not. Splendid. Now she certainly looked better, and the little lapse into temptation had made her feel better, so everything was going along...

Her eyes landed on someone.
If you won't to through the lives of everybody here down the toilet, you are going to have to go through me"
tumblr_n0elssqN4E1s9b4uzo1_500.gif

Ash began to search the house for anything he could use to defend himself with, candle sticks, hunting equipment, buzz saws, anything...
Cheesy speech and all. Truly, people never changed.

"My darling!~" Catherine exclaimed, smiling and purposefully making her cheeks a little red just so she could up the illusion. "Where have you been? I've just been so lonely without you, so many terrible people, raving madmen and those who think I'm not as much of a reputable nurse as you think I am! They just don't know me like you do..." She quickly scurried up to his side, now ever so glad she'd taken the moment to pretty herself up.

He probably had some nice healthy blood too.

Pity her needles were so small.

Not even five minutes within this cabin and Ash's prattling was already getting under the mercenary's skin. Not that he hadn't already gotten a bad impression of Ash after seeing him hit on Cap while fighting Tarman.

"If you can do little but complain then I suggest you leave my presence and aim it towards someone who has the patience to put up with them. Antics such as yours will not be tolerated and I doubt any of us need you to hold our hands. Your past experiences with cabins and the like holds no weight to me. I don't care about what happened to your sister and I highly doubt there are demons at work here. The undead rising and seeking to consume us, creatures from an age long since passed. Science has a place behind all of it I'm sure. But you expect me to believe that you and your comrades were set upon by these deadites? Spare me the nonsense and if you insist on stopping anyone from going to the basement? You'll be the one taking a trip down there in their stead."

He growled as he sought to set Nathan and the other man down on a couch. He'd heard the boy mutter something but it was far too quiet for him to decipher what it was. The yelling from the basement didn't calm Locus's nerves any but he still doubted that Ash's ranting carried any kind of weight. There were no such things as demons.

"I'd hope so, if only for your sake." He stated cryptically although his intentions were very clear. If this woman proved herself to be an obstacle or hinderance to the group in any fashion then she'd be taken care of in an efficient and quick manner.

As she watched him put on her innocent facade for the boastful idiot, he frowned behind his helmet. For the woman's not-so-hidden lust for causing pain, she was clearly smarter than she let on. Being able to fool Ash into believing she was just a nurse who was caught up in this mess When in reality there was far more to her than met the eye.

He could relate if only because he had his own share of manipulating people to an end. This woman just seemed to be more adapt at keeping it wrapped up. For the moment in any case.

Glancing over at Jean as he pulled back the bandaging around his bite mark, the hallucination of Felix popped up yet again to harass his partner. If not in body but in spirit and gleefully at that.

"You know he's gonna turn right? What if it's into one of those smart fuckers you nearly got your head smashed in by? You want one of those hanging around you and the two losers you dragged in on your shoulders? If I was here I'd put a cap in him right now. Say it was for the good of the party!"

"He helped save my life. Along with the costumed woman. To simply shoot him in cold blood would be tossing aside what he had done. He could have very well gotten bitten once more by that creature."

"Yeah, yeah, he saved your ass. So what? Doyle's troops helped you out too and what happened there? You turned on them without a second thought just like I did with Kimball and her band of rag-tag wimps. As for him getting bite again? Even more reason to deposit a little lead in his skull! Or just break his neck!"

"..I won't do it."

"Fine, but I'll be here to tell you I told ya so as you're busy bleeding once he's torn your throat out."

"Shut up, Felix."

The hallucination faded away and Locus was once more left to his own devices. Returning his gaze to Jean however, the merc made his way over to him. The bite mark seemed like it was continuing to grow worse but he hadn't shown any signs of turning into one of those things. Whatever the symptoms may have been.

"We'll find a cure to your infection but if we don't? I'll help you just as you helped me back in the forest." The mercenary stated simply with his implication clear. If Jean really did need to be taken out, then Locus offered to do the deed for him. Suicide was something to be looked down upon, a coward's way out. But choosing the release of death over becoming one of the walking dead? It seemed far more preferable.

Cap would be sitting by Rhonda on the sofa as the others continued talking. Rhonda had fallen asleep leaning towards her and she tried her best to awkwardly wiggle herself and letting he mechanics head fall softly on the sofa.

"Locus is right, we're not going lose you to this." She remarked. "After some rest we'll move on to try and find our destination."
