@Neobach, accepted! When the IC comes up, Icarus will be with Jodie, Marius and Éclair held captive inside a Templar convoy on its way to one of the anti-mage prisons. How he was caught is determined by you but don't worry, they won't be there for long! :3

@QuakeUPSB it is also up to you if Samuel will be with Seb and Leona when they intercept said convoy or if he will come in later, perhaps when the new initiates make it back to a Maleficar Stronghold.

So I have a question, @BearEnthusiast, would our first post be how our characters messed up and got captured? Or would that happen a few posts in?

I'm working on the IC right now actually which basically has Sebastian and Leona scouting out the convoy (Samuel too if Quake wants him there.) They come up with their plan and begin it but that's where the first post ends.

After that, you all get the opportunity to write an introduction-esque post inside the convoy either introducing yourselves to one another (or in Jodie's case, listening to people introduce themselves lol.) How much you include in your character's little introductory post is up to the individual. I'll wait till after everyone in the convoy has posted at least once until I have Seb and Leona break you guys out. ^^

I've yet to decide whether or not to have a posting order, I'm leaning towards not but I might put up a poll later. :u

Posting orders do help, so that it's not just two people talking to each other and everything (happened in the last RP I was in) but it's fine as long as there's still room for others to join in too.

We could always go half and half.

During down time in strongholds, there won't be a posting order and people can use this time for meaningful interactions with other characters. But when the Resistance is out and about advancing the mage equality agenda (like doing rescue missions and whatnot) there'll be a post order.

Full Name: Leona Tallis
Title: Co-Leader of the Maleficar Resistance/Combat Specialist

Personality: Leona is outspoken, driven and fiercely dedicated. She is not afraid to say what's on her mind and has no time to soften her words. Perhaps a little too quick to burn, she is incredibly hot-headed and prideful. Quite fitting considering as she strives to be one of the best damn fire mages to be born. She feels that if' she's anything less than that, the Resistance will eventually be destroyed.

Biography: Leona much like Sebastian hadn't experienced the awakening of her powers until much later on in her life. She grew up as a tomboy as the only girl in an army family of 5. Transferring from different military bases was a hassle but it was the cards she was dealt and Leona always makes the best with her current hand.

Leona joined the military amidst the rise of magic. She sympathized with the mages as they became persecuted but understood the reasoning behind it. Besides her C.O was extremely anti-mage going so far as to believe they weren't even humans. Leona didn't want to jeopardize her promotion by disagreeing with him. But whilst deployed to a middle eastern country Leona's squadron (who up until that moment, had been her closest comrades) along with their C.O raped a woman imprisoned by the Templars near their base.

Leona powerless to help waited till they left the woman in her cell before she came in and tried her best to help her. The woman told her of the horrors she witnessed becasue she was a mage, submitting to the templars and being treated as a toy to be played with simply because of the way she was born. Overwrought in guilt, a firey passion began to build in Leona. Her father had taught her right from wrong, justice from injustice.

What was happening to the mages was an injustice and that infuriated her. It was a that moment she realized she was a mage herself. Leona went back to her base and served justice to her former comrades. Leona was branded a war criminal and she disappeared into the Middle East. Eventually she was captured and brought back to the states but not before escaping her execution with the help of a certain ice mage.

Preferred Weapon: Due to her military training, Leona is most comfortable with assault rifles and pistols. She is however quite skilled in hand to hand melee. She always carries a standard service pistol strapped to her belt.

You can pretty much tell what he looks like with the Gif up above, the only thing worth being noted would be the scar on his left arm. Starting from his shoulder blade, all the way down to his elbow. Besides that, he usually wears tight fitted clothing- Which are mainly dark colored, mind you, just so if he's needed then he'd blend into the darkness a whole lot better. Jedediah, on contrary to popular belief though, preferred to be barefoot. He felt more connected to the world that way, making it easier to use his special "ability".

Personality
People often find Jeb obnoxious and annoying, even clumsy at times too if he isn't paying attention. Of course, that's only what people see on the outside. Yes, he's clumsy and probably very annoying since he does have the tendency to mess with people. But he's also very caring, reliable, and is always willing to risk his life for one of his students or, his "Family" as he liked to call them. Even if he did care for you, he'd probably still make your life a living hell if you were still being taught by him. Jedediah always wants the best for people. If they try, they can succeed. He always gives his all, especially when it comes to the resistance. Jeb can be stubborn, and during that time he's also very ignorant and will go into whatever it is head first without realizing the risks. All in all, he's not perfect, but he's trying.

Personality: Having practiced many forms of Buddhism, Bankei has become a calm and collected individual. He's kind to all he meets and is all smiles, though the smiles do die away at appropriate times like mourning and serious discussions. He's a pacifist mostly, choosing to not fight, but he would fight if he had to protect other people. He is perfectly willing to teach people about discipline, both in mind and body.

Biography: Bankei's parents were from somewhere in the eastern nations, where he does not know, for they never told him. They fled the country for their own safety and came to America. Thus, he was born an American.

Both of his parents were intellects and pushed him to do school, which he took in stride. After all, it's not like anything would happen, right? He became fascinated with Buddhism when he began to learn it in school. He did a lot of research on the subject and came to enjoy it, practicing meditation after he was done studying.

He was looking down at the city below him while returning from school, all smiles. He felt at peace with himself at that moment. Suddenly, he felt a surge of power through his body and the gentle breezes became stronger. That was how he was first became a mage.

He had no need for his powers, and kept going through the daily motions of his life, even when blood magic was revealed and all the mages were to be executed. He was never caught, though he began to hear rumors of a resistance for mages. Now that he was an adult, he was able to do whatever he wanted, so he packed his bags and tried to search for the group.
That was a poor decision he made, for he was captured, but then rescued by the leaders of the resistance. He was brought to the east coast and stayed there, teaching those with wind magic how to harness it and, sometimes, giving them lessons on his religion.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Hecate was born into an extremely wealthy Templar family. Prior to the 1986 they were old aristocracy with the money and power that went with it. But with the rise of mages, they- like much of the old powers that be- lost eminence with little magic manifesting in their own bloodline.Seeking to retain their place in society her family helped establish (and fund) the Templar. When her own magic surfaced at seven when in an argument with her twin brother, Herakles, so strong was her conviction that she was right, Hecate's power flared and the toaster was fried by the electricity. Her second affinity was discovered shortly thereafter when Herakles determined to win their argument by throwing a block at her head which was then deflected back at him. The family was ecstatic...until no further magical ability manifested apart from the occasional burst in her own electromagnetic field and a few involuntarily deflected projectiles. After about a year and a half of abject failure in both magic school and the best private tutelage money could buy she was declared a lost cause and hidden away in one of the De Desos country estates. She was further secluded when the Exodus happened a scant two years later and her own family helped to spearhead the The Maleficarum Project, and buried any record of the talentless Hecate while still keeping her protected in the estate turned compound. Gifted with all she could ever want apart from the key to the door and company, Hecate turned to the extensive libraries at her disposal and began to learn all that she could to fill the endless hours of her isolation. The years passed and with them her desire to join the world she was not allowed to be a part of. She pioneered her great escape at eighteen, and after learning first hand of the injustice her fellow mages faced found her way to the Maleficar Resistance; vowing to right the wrongs perpetrated by her own blood.[/BCOLOR]

While there isn't specifically a class on Magic Theory with the schools being closed and whatnot, she can definitely be the Resistance expert on the topic. If you'd like we can discuss magic in this universe further through PMs.

Appearance: A tall woman with an average build, dark skin and thick curls. A small birthmark lies on her left wrist and she has a gold ankle tattoo on her right ankle.


Personality: A very laid-back, easygoing woman with a penchant for puzzle solving. Naturally predisposed to caring and looking after people, she is quick to read body language and always tries to console, calm, and comfort anyone in need. An incredibly open minded woman, she is arguably too quick to forgive and her level of tolerance is surprisingly high. However, those who cross her are facing a formidable opponent with a stubborn will and a firm but fair approach to conflict. Loves music and dance, doesn't believe in religion but enjoys seeing spirituality in any form as a means of doing good. Tends to be rather mothering over people she comes into contact with regularly and provides the best shoulder to cry on. The ultimate mom friend.

Biography: Spending her early childhood in Guadeloupe, Aysu was born to two magical parents who were skilled in ice magic. Aysu learnt about her own ability age 5 when she had her birthday by the beach and her grandparents came to visit her for the first time instead of using long-distance communication to keep in touch and talk to her. Overjoyed, she accidentally created spirals of water which floated around the buffet and drenched all of the food. It became a family secret from the get-go, since water magic was incredibly rare and her parents feared that other magi or researchers may wish to study the child. Instead, Aysu's parents actively encouraged her to hone her abilities and became impromptu tutors despite their limited knowledge of magic and its more complicated workings.

After Exodus occurred, Aysu's parents became fearful of what would happen in Guadeloupe. They weighed up their options and took an incredible risk by moving their daughter to her grandparents' home in America, so that she could pass unnoticed instead of being in danger at the small town and tight-knit community that she grew up in. Aysu kept in touch with her parents through her grandparents, and went to a state school to receive proper education. Whilst she was not academically gifted, her sharp mind showed potential to her teachers despite having to start a few years late of her classmates. She barely passed her examinations and took a job as a careworker in an elderly home to pay for a small apartment and to look after her aging grandparents. When her grandmother died and she lost contact with her parents in Guadeloupe Aysu quit her job, took whatever money she had and attempted to flee the country. She was caught by some Templars two weeks prior to the others on suspicion of magical activity, sent to a small prison and then eventually put onto a convoy with other captured magi.

@Ythania New magic is being discovered all the time. As to whether or not she can have water magic, I'll say yes. Though I will say it's more so a rarer form of Ice Magic rather than a school on it's own. Sebastian would be quite interested to see her at work! :u

Magic in this universe is materialized from thin air, either through one's hands or other mediums like a staff. Magic is still a relatively new concept to the general populace and there are still many secrets about it to be revealed.
