"San Miguel? Think I been there actually." Anne scratches her head and struggles to recall if she indeed has been to such a place. But they get to the gate, and Anne refrains from further banter. Her eyes squint and scan around the wall. No visible archers, yet. But she and likely the others can hear music and shouts in the air within the city walls. Her eyes zero in on the tall white granite castle at the center of it all. If there were a King or other high authority, her money (or scales as it were) was on them being up there. As she stands, her body sway a little like a willow but remains stalwart.
The guard looks at the three, his gaze unflinching as he says "So another trio of Strangers. Hmm." He turns around and signals to those up top of the gate by putting his thumb down. A gesture that makes Anne uneasy given its usual meaning, as her hand goes for one of her pistols(reloaded on their journey) but then the large gate doors part and the guard says "Follow me. I'll take you where you need to go." "Sorry Al." Anne apologizes preemptively, her hand relaxing and she gives him a half-smile "A bit...on edge still."
When the gates open, the trio see that inside a veritable festival is in full swing. The streets are decorated in banners that stretch across and over the streets bearing a
white rose. People mill about, evidently between exciting things by the jubilant looks on their faces. The guard that met them is joined by four others who encircle the trio.
"Make way! Official business!" The lead guard says raising a hand, and the crowd parts around the entourage. People whisper to each other.
"Strangers? Has to be. Look at the woman and that man!"
"Think they're going to the White Guard?"
"No no, Red Shield if they're taking this street."
For Anne, such attention makes her lower her hat and cover an ear. "Ugh...too loud." She mumbles under her breath as they go through the streets. The guard occasionally looks back at them, making sure they are compliant.
The entourage comes to a stop at a large three-story wooden building. Two banners of a different color hangs over this one: Both are mostly red with black lettering spelling out "Red Shield Guild" on the top banner and below that "Explore, Chronicle, Defend" and both are between two
red roses.
The guard turns around and gestures at the large double doors of the guild hall. "If you are truly here in peace, with something of grave importance, these are the people you need to speak with before you can approach King Richard the Third." The guard awaits their response, neutral in expression and stance.
