Laurana soon drifted into an easier sleep, much more stabilized and completely healed. She'd been stupid a moment and had forgotten- healing powers were far better than anything a doctor could have done back on Earth! She faintly heard Melise speaking her blessing over the baby, and smiled even more as she rested her head on Caden's elbow. Mindful of yuck and mess, she even magically cleaned herself and the room so it looked like nothing had happened. Then, spent, and still a little sore, she passed out again, completely unaware of everything around her, except her baby in her arms.. (I was wrong, my love...my child... I'll make sure you have a good world to grow up in,... Caden and I will be the best parents..You'll have a wonderful family....) She promised.

Nathan chuckled and placed his first finger into the lad's tiny hand while he gazed at the sea of faces surrounding him, cooing a bit. He gave Nathan's finger a big squeese and even Nathan winced, but laughed! "Goodness, such strength already... " He teased. This felt wonderful, and chased away the remaining despair. He was so thankful he had a chance at having a family again, even if he and Melise would have no more children, he was beyond blessed with what he had now, and prayed Alna knew he was at peace again...

"Thanks, Rook- I'm fine..." Claire indeed, lied her fool head off. But once more she was being yelled at and scathed. Suddenly she felt so beyond tired... so sick of everything. Had she -not- tried to provide for the people well enough? Was she -that- strange looking even the guard felt it was his right to yell in her face? She started to speak, to tell him to go bark at a tree like a deranged dork- but words failed. Her mind and heart seemed to want to follow suit and give up. She stood instead, and let him run her down. In the end, that's basically all that most people wanted to do to her, make her feel like complete -crap-. Well it was working. Tamsin however, marched right back over to Xavier and dragged him from Claire. "Just stop it. She was antagonized. THEY came back to taunt HER." She swatted him on the shoulder. Eventually, Claire just couldn't be there anymore and went off to her room, several stair cases away. Once she reached it, she considered recharging herself, then thought better of it. She had just enough strength to shower the rain and blood off her, change into a clean white tunic and pants, and made it to her bed. She wanted nothing more to do with this long, awful week. No. Her long, awful life. She let herself fall unconscious to her bed, having mostly taken care of herself for years. She didn't even see the need to keep trying just then.~

Theresa was confused. Something bad had happened, she knew that.. Shouldn't she be dead? Hadn't there been a blast or something? She stared at herself in a wall-mirror of some sort of guest room. Oh. She had strawberry-blonde hair to her back, tied in a pony tail, revealing pointy elven ears. Oh that's right. She worked at the palace, had for many months since waking up in the forest. Sometimes her memories remained a bit hazy, but it generally came back quickly enough. She served the royal Golden Fae family and its inner court. Whatever was required, she brought them. And since she had telekenisis, as well as a few other gifts, one she did not like, watching others' dreams. She had befriended the Storm-caller girl, Claire. She just seemed always sad, and they strangely had much in common. She was thin, as far as elves went; but her elvin-features and palace maids uniform was inconspicuous for the most part. And just now, she felt it was time for King Jorga and his large group of new comers to have some refreshments. She went to the kitchens and brewed a strong, green tea and served them in tall fancy, crystal glasses with plenty of ice for those who wanted it, and a few glasses without for those that didn't. In moments, she'd a balanced tray in her hands and gracefully entered the throne room. "Excuse me, King Jorga; I thought it might be a good time to provide drinks. Is there anything I can get you all?" She added, passing the glasses around. She wasn't afraid of Xavier, who's bark was usually far worse than his bite- but she sensed Claire's distress and refrained from looking at him.

Tamsin accepted her glass with thanks. She was still a bit peeved at Xavier's reaction to Claire. God she saw now why her sister was so miserable and used to joke about throwing herself into a thunderstorm and becoming part of it forever.~

Gavin sighed, thanking the pretty elvin maid for her kind offer. To Chastianna he shrugged... "Maybe healing would be better at a later time. I am curious to see how Laurana and the others in the chapel are faring." He added, having already gathered Claire was something of a troubled-kid.~

Rebecca and Jasmine both felt sad for Claire; but they knew this was a family thing, and they couldn't really interfere- well Rebecca could! But Jasmine definitely stayed at Varen's side, a casual observer for the moment.

Serena smiled at the maid who'd just entered.. "Thank you. I apologize on all of our behalves if we end up making more work for you. Most of us have magic and take care of our own needs." She assured the girl. "Thank you for your concern, miss- but that's alright. Things haven't been so busy here lately. It's good to stay active. King Jorga, is there anything else you'd require?" She asked, turning politely to the king. She was a very mild-woman, no fuss or arguments, hardly ever any tears either. She had no family of her own to mourn, and just accepted what the day brought her.

Caden kissed Lauranna's forehead and let her rest. He watched Nathan and Melise with the baby and smiled. It was good to see Nathan able to move forward and not give up. Sometimes things happened that were just not expected. They handed back the baby and Caden tucked him in close to Lauranna's side. He was soon asleep there and Caden's heart felt like it would burst with love for them. Whatever he had to do to make this place home, he was going to do it.

Melise handed the baby back to Caden and then saw on one of the long pews in the chapel to give thanks and commune with the Glen. All the years of sorrow and agonizing loneliness had been worth this moment.

Rook watched her walk away a bit helplessly. He knew she was lying, and he saw that hollow look in her eyes. He had no idea what this place was like on a normal day, but he couldn't see how this was better than Caden and Lauranna's palace with the exception of the fact that his mother and Hannah had never known about it. He hoped Jorga was serious about this being a place of acceptance and unity, but how did you go about making people understand and accept things? He sighed, and stood up and went to Tamsin then, noting how she was berating the guard. "Forgive me...I do not mean to interrupt but...I am worried about Claire. Could someone check on her? Or maybe tell me where she might be and I will happily do so."

Xavier looked at Tamsin and his arm where she slapped him and lifted a brow, "I do not care who antagonized her, threatened her or attacked her. It is MY job to see you all are safe. She should not have stayed behind. Believe me, I have seen enough of how they treat her to know it was unwise of her to remain out there. They will not threaten me, but they will not think twice about torturing her. she is valuable to the city, and I don't care what they think I know it and so i try to protect her, but she insists on putting herself in these situations." He had nothing against Claire, but she did make his life hell with her ways. Not that such things were her problem, it came with the job. even Tamsin had at times created problems for him unknowingly. Today though he had many more people to manage and he couldn't have them in the way. "You can glare at me all you like Princess, there is too much chaos in the city at the moment for me to have time to spare for feelings and bad days." he nodded to Rook as he approached and left them to make certain the rest of the entrances into the Palace were secure and to brief his men on their new duties.

Jorga was worried about Lauranna and the others he'd left in the chapel. He didn't think anyone would bother them there, but he wasn't sure. He grabbed Xavier. "I need you to bring 4 more people into the safety of the palace."

Xavier blinked, "What? Where are they?"

"In the chapel."

Xavier cursed and lifted his eyes heavenward in a prayer for mercy.

Varen approached cautiously, "We ..." He said of himself and Jasmine, "would like to offer ourselves to be of help. We were in charge of he guards at the white fae palace."

Xavier looked at the centaurs and nodded, "I don't believe the people will blink twice at your kind. Assistance accepted," He nodded, "You can help me bring the four from the chapel into the palace. I must give my men their orders first. I will return in five minutes, please wait by the large front doors." He left them then without any other words and went to the guard tower office and barked out a series of orders to the ten men in the room for the next shift. He appointed one of them as head and then went to the front doors. "ready?" he asked the two centaurs.

Varen nodded, "yes."

They unbarred the door and Xavier scanned the area for any golden that might be lingering. He saw no one and led them over to the chapel and found a woman who obviously just gave birth on a bed. Another string of curses slipped from his lips but barely a whisper since they were in the chapel. He approached the man, "King Jorga would like you all to be brought to the palace. It is not safe out here."

Caden lifted his head, "She is not strong enough to ..."

Xavier nodded, "We can carry the bed...I cannot guarantee your safety here."

Caden tipped his head and stood from the side of the bed. He saw Varen and Jasmine and smiled. "We can roll it..." he said looking at the bed his wife had made and pressing the things on the wheels that would allow them to roll freely.

Xavier was glad of that. Not that he was worried about their strength to perform the task, but this would be faster. "Very good." he went to the Oracle, "Will you please come to the palace Oracle. It is the king's request." He knew better than to order her to do anything. She had freedom to do anything she wanted, and everyone in Malthen Ana knew it. her visions were never wrong and her ways were above reproach. He knew she wasn't a golden, but no one else did...not even King Jorga.

Melise nodded, "I will come. I have much to do." She reached for Nathan's hand and prepared herself to make the short journey to the palace. there was much turmoil among the people and the royal family. She had much to say and people needed to find their place in this new city. her heart was full of conflicting feelings, joy at her family being returned and dismay at the violence and hatred present in Malthen Ana.

Jorga looked down at the elvin maid, "Thank you. This was thoughtful of you. I think mostly we need to find rooms for everyone here in the palace. Things are not going as smoothly as I had hoped." he dragged a hand though thick golden hair, "could you see to that? I'm sure you know which rooms are empty." He had NO idea whatsoever...but he did hope they had enough.

Ellisar and Aldin were having a rather in depth discussion about engineering and other things, since Aldin saw the PA system Ellisar had been using. Aldin was giving him ideas about making it better and the two were now thick as thieves discussing that and other things.

Chastianna watched Claire leave and frowned, "It seems so..." She smiled though to the woman who offered the tea, "Thank you. I am thirsty."

Morden took a glass of tea as well when she was near. "This is quite refreshing, thank you." He slipped his arm around Serena and hugged her, "You are such a sweetheart." he said into her ear, "I love you, Serena." This was going to be a huge adjustment for all of them, but as long as she was there by his side, he could do anything.

Naild looked around at the palace and felt strangely out of place. It was all really weird, but he kept quiet and tried to stay out of the way.

Laurana stirred a moment, her core a bit touchy with any intrusions on her small world right then. She'd already shielded Caden, Nathan and her baby as well as Melise- no thoughts to herself, or ability to shield herself either, but it was soon very clear to Xavier she was a power house even having just delivered a very special son! Even asleep she would not let so much as an angry guard threaten him. She looked quite innocent sleeping, and her son had drifted off as well. The shield was a brilliant blue-purple. "Easy Laurana.. he's just escorting us to the palace. Hang tight though- this might be a bit of an awkward procession." Nathan explained, and her shields lowered, vanishing just like that. Jasmine couldn't help hide a smile. "I'll help carry it." She said, moving to one side of the bed, and was ready to carry it back to the palace. She and Varen were strong enough to carry a lot heavier things than a bed! "Alright. I'll help as well. We should get going." Nathan said, rising to his feet. He held Melise's hand and brought up the rear. Concern was in his eyes however, and wondered where Laurana and Caden would be placed in the palace, but they'd figure that out later.

Upstairs, Claire was so drained she'd gone a bit cold. Even if she'd been conscious she wouldn't really care what happened to her anymore. Her energy was at zero, and she hated the thought of waking up and facing anyone anyway, though she would soon, once her body eventually stabilized at some point.. Just.. why always her?! She thought bitterly.~

Soon, Theresa had made a polite curtsy to King Jorga. "Of course, there are plenty of rooms on the third wing. I will show you to Claire's room on the way, sir. Only, do be cautious. When she's out of energy she doesn't respond well." Theresa warned. She then lead the group up the flight of stairs, assigning each of them very pretty guest rooms, with closets full of nice clothes, and very comfortable beds. They even had their own adjoining bathrooms. "If any of you need anything, let me know." Theresa said, then lead Rook alone, back to Claire's door. "She's in there. She doesn't lock it ... most of the time." She added, then scooted off to take glasses and the tray for washing.~

Serena smiled at Morden's hug. "I love you Morden...I recognize far too much of myself through Claire. It's not right these people treat her like that.. I'm scared she'll endure something on a scale of what I have gone through...and then what?" She shrugged, thanking Melise for showing them to their room.

Niald and Rebecca would have rooms right beside eachother. As did Gavin and Chastianna! Theresa went back to wait on whoever it was Xavier was bringing back to the palace, and she'd show them their rooms. "Haven't run out of rooms yet, King Jorga." She assured him.

Tamsin waited as well, to see if there was anything else she could help with. So far most of the guests had been given rooms.. so what was next, she wondered?

Caden was helping to push the bed as well grinning at his wife's unconscious shield. "She's a little overprotective," he explained.

Xavier had scanned them all and he knew exactly how powerful they were, but he found no malevolent intent or inclinations so he just smiled, "Understandable given the circumstances." He went to the door and poked his head out and did a quick scan of the area and then held the doors open for them to move the bed through. "Luckily it's not far." They were moving Lauranna into the palace when someone came out from behind the very tree where Claire had been resting not long before and tossed a large rock at Caden's back. Xavier turned and the rock exploded into dust before it hit the man. His mind sought out the perpetrator, and gripped him mentally. The man could do nothing but stiffly move toward the big guard. He was trying to resist but it was futile. Showing himself from behind the tree the terror in his eyes was visible from the ten feet away. Xavier didn't give the man any mercy either, he let him fight it all the way to the entrance to the palace. "Gerald..." he said as he looked down at him. Xavier knew everyone's name. it was his business to know and he took his job seriously. "Come with me." Like the man could refuse. They entered the palace and the doors closed and barred behind them. They went right to King Jorga. "Gerald just attacked your guests."

Jorga looked at the man who was standing there but obviously was under Xavier's control. "He did?" Cold eyes focused on Gerald and a rather large wet stain could be sen growing between the man's legs and down the legs of his pants. "What did he do?"

"He thew a large rock at King Caden's back, while we were bringing his wife and child into the palace. He might have injured the sleeping mother and child."

Jorga never looked away from the man and his gaze was intense. "He will be held until noon tomorrow. Then bring him to the town square, we will have another meeting and the people will learn." They would learn or they would leave, those were his only terms.

"As you wish Sire," Xavier said and then he led the man to a cell inside the guard tower office. Once he was inside the cell Xavier released his control. Gerald immediately began spouting out obscenities. Xavier left him there and went back out to the others. "Thank you for your help," he said to Varen and Jasmine.

Outside Lazar was watching from his window above, and worrying over the arrival of the new people. He didn't care about the color of cores or the fact that there were dark fae there, no, his concerns centered around a certain centaur female. He hadn't seen any centaurs in so long he'd almost forgotten about them. But now there was one. Could she be the same one? She had the same coloring, but it had been so long ago. His past was finally catching up to him. He deserved it, he knew that, but now he had to face it. How could anyone make up for what he'd done? How could anyone forgive such a thing? he readied himself for the end of his peaceful happy life. He dressed and headed over to the palace. He needed advice and there was only one person he trusted with this...Tamsin.

Morden frowned, "It sounds like King Jorga isn't going to put up with it. Let's hope he's more aware than we were." he said honestly. They were showed to rooms near the four younger ones which he thought was appropriate. They were spacious and quite fine, "This is a nice place..." he said with a smile and then pulled her close, "I know there is a lot going on, and a lot to worry about, but I've missed you and I want to spend this time showing you how much I've missed you." His embrace tightened a bit as he bent to kiss her.

Jorga nodded, "There are a few more...do we have a bassinet anywhere?" he asked not sure. "I'm not sure what we did with Talin's..." Just saying the name of his dead son stabbed at his heart. But he wanted those things to be useful and not wasted or set aside as if they were some kind of monument to the dead. No life was about the living. He looked down at the little elf then, "Forgive me...I am rambling. Thank you for all you are doing. I do appreciate it."

Varen and Jasmine would not be able to accept normal rooms like everyone else and he doubted they would have anything appropriate for them aside from a stable if they even had that. He was wondering where they'd be sent, fearing they'd be separated from the only family he had now. They may not be his blood but they were his family.

Laurana did wince a bit as she felt Caden pelted in the back with a rather big rock! She didn't have the strength to waken however, and only held their baby closer, deeply concerned now about the place they were living in! {Caden? Are you alright?} She asked him, wanting to heal any injuries that rock might have left him! She was unaware when they reached the palace throne room, but definitely started sensing it was safer here. She even started to try and wake up, not wanting to be a burden or a worry.~

Jasmine smiled at Xavier, thanking him as well as he left to deal with that stupid man who'd thrown a rock right at Caden! Ugh.. Then a creeping sensation hit her. Someone was watching her. She didn't turn to look however, really not wanting to meet more malevolent people just then. "We will stay in the stables, Varen. When we're needed we'll come here, but I feel the stables are roomier as well." She then checked on Laurana briefly, and her new son. Not a scratch, thankfully. Trouble was, she didn't know where the stables were..

Serena smiled at the simple, yet spacious and lovely room. "I have missed you too, Morden. So much... and I am glad King Jorga takes command the way he does. People will never change no matter where we go it seems... unless they have to." And then she gave up on all the seriousness around them and simply enjoyed his embrace, and his kiss, she'd missed it far too long. It was there time to make up for a lot of lost moments!

Theresa smiled at King Jorga. "It's nothing, sire. I do apologize that you still hurt from your loss." She added, then turned to the arrival of Melise, Nathan, Laurana and Caden. "I will go find them rooms now as well... but we may have to carry the woman without the bed. Could you do this sir?" She asked gently to Caden. Nathan would definitely carry their son for them if needed!

Claire never heard a knock on her door, if Rook was there. She was somewhere cold, and her heart rate wasn't so good or steady. Come on Claire... wake up.. - she thought to herself. She tried, really. But she kept slipping, like a void was dragging at her soul...~

Tamsin stayed next to King Jorga, she understood his pain as well. Her brother's sudden death had affected all of them with a touch of a bitter ending. She wondered if things would ever be peaceful and light again. She had her doubts.~

Rebecca had changed into a clean dress and her hair was in a ponytail. She knocked on Niald's door, hoping he'd be awake.~

Gavin simply snuck next door to Chastianna's and asked her if she'd want to go back downstairs and see if there was anything they could do.~

Caden smiled and brushed the hair back from Lauranna's face, ~Nothing hit me love...Xavier intercepted it and all I felt was a bit of dust ... I am fine. rest..~ He looked a the little elvin woman and nodded, "I can indeed carry her." he said sliding his arm beneath her knee and another around her shoulders and lifting her tight to his chest. The baby just nestled there between the two perfectly content and peaceful and ever even stirred. "Lead the way, Miss."

Chastianna had taken the opportunity to shower and change and felt MUCH better. she was looking out the window of her room when she heard a knock and went to answer it hoping it was Gavin. She already missed him and knew this bed would not be as comfortable without him there next to her. How quickly she'd gotten used to his comforting presence beside her. She opened the door and smiled brightly, "I was hoping it was you." she said honestly but then frowned, "Is something wrong? Nothing's wrong is there?"

Varen was about to answer when Xavier chimed in, "No need for stables," he assured them both, "We have some large rooms in the guard tower that used to be storage rooms. We have other places now and have no sued those spaces in some time. You are welcome to make them into whatever would suit your needs." He was actually glad to have the centaurs there. They were a revered race among the golden, the thing of legend and mythology even and he knew they were known for strength and honor. He was hoping the Oracle would assign them to his squadron.

Varen bowed his head, "Thank you. We can make what we need." He smiled at jasmine as they followed Xavier to the rooms in question. They were indeed two very large rooms with a wide double door opening between. Xavier left them to it and went back to his duties. Varen looked at jasmine and moved around the space, pulling a wooden cover off of a window to let in some light. "I know we have not discussed....us..." he said as he moved back to stand before her, "But please, stay with me and I promise I will do everything in my power to make you happy, and protect you and our family...if we should ever be blessed." he looked around, "This could be a greeting area and the other room a bedroom for both of us." He bent a knee and looked up at her, "Jasmine...marry me."

Jorga watched the little elvin woman walk away wondering how she knew he was sorrowing. Was she like the Oracle? Could she see visions? He'd never really paid much attention to her before, but at the moment his was noticing the bright red hair and slight swish of her hips as she led Caden and his wife to a room. He wrapped an arm around Tamsin and kissed her head. "I miss him."

Rook stood outside Claire's door for a good thirty minutes before he had the courage to knock. He couldn't hear anything inside and no one answered. He started to leave three times but worry eventually won out and he opened the door and peeked inside. he felt like he was invading a private space but he couldn't stop himself from checking to be sure she was well. He saw her lying on a large bed, looking pale and frail and frowned. he moved over and sat on the bed, careful not to jostle it and wake her and then touched her hand lightly. Her core was so drained and weak. His own core, sensing a dangerous situation began to fill hers without his conscious thought intervening. He stayed still while his core did the only thing it was good at and when hers began to once again respond back he eased away and withdrew into himself. He gave her hand a gentle brush of his fingertips before he released it and then stood. he wasn't sure what to do now. She hadn't trusted him to help her, and had in fact walked away from him. He doubted she would welcome his presence when she wakened, but part of him wanted to stay and make sure she was well. In the end he opted for leaving a note on her bedside table.

Claire,
Forgive me. I know you did not want my help, but I could not bear the thought of you hurt and weak when I knew I could be of help. I do pray you will not think less of me for intruding upon you and forcing my will and renewal upon your core. Please know that I value our friendship and hope to see you up and well very soon. Sincerely Rook

Naild had showered and changed into clean clothes. He was reading a book that had been left by the last occupant of the room about knights and damsels in distress. Glad of the interruption he opened the door, "You look refreshed." he smiled and hugged her, "you weren't wanting to go exploring were you?" he asked her alluding to their previous eventful foray into the unknown recesses of the white fae palace.

Laurana barely felt herself lifted and only made sure her baby was secure in their arms. Theresa gave a small smile at the family moment between King Jorga and Tamsin, then showed Caden and Laurana a very beautiful room, with golden floors, walls, and a silver ceiling. It was the size of a two bedroom apartment, complete with an indoor bathroom. The bathroom itself was a master peice: with gold and white tiled flooring, a giant, long bathtub that also acted as a hot tub complete with bubble jets. An extendable hose-shower head was attached to the shower, and there was a white pristine sink, and toilet. The cabinets under the sink were well stocked with all feminine and male hygiene soaps/shampoos/pouf balls make up, and other fancy necessities. "I must leave now, but please enjoy the room. Nathan..would you like to share Melise's room? And Melise- would you mind sharing with him?" Theresa asked Nathan and the oracle. Nathan had no disputes over it, but he looked at his lost wife; wondering how she'd feel about such a move.~

Gavin shook his head. He too felt better after showering and changing... "No. I can't imagine how Rebecca feels about all this though. This is .. not a good place right now with so many hateful people around. Try not to go outside okay?" He asked, offering his arm so they could walk down and be with King Jorga for a while. He'd like to learn more about his new home, and wondered if the two of them could explore it soon.

Tamsin smiled, and apologized again to Jorga about the earlier incident. "I know it's going to be rough for a while, dad... but you are the king here and people must listen to you. If anything needs enforced or taken care of, don't worry about asking me to do it. I feel really bad for Claire.." She sighed, taking time to reflect on that. She wasn't sure how things would end up for her sister, but if she did end up leaving, she would be pretty miserable.~

Claire woke with a gasp, her core energized and a note on the table! Oh crap. ...crap crap crap... "Damn my life.." She muttered, running a hand through her hair. She felt a little blood in it from a rock hitting her there and frowned. What should she do? How was she going to be with Rook when everyone hated her? He would get caught in the crossfire! He could get hurt because of her! Hell they all could... She walked to her balcony window for a moment, not opening it, but looking out. Malthen Ana had never felt like a home to her. She wasn't liked, tolerated, or even respected by many people. But they'd never been this aggressive to her before. . . She looked at the sky and longed to be free of this earthly hell. She narrowed her eyes.. -Soon I'll be with you, mom... - She vowed. Dizzy. She felt dizzy still from loss of blood. She ignored it however, and took care of her own wounds, just like always. Peroxided her arms as they fizzled until she almost banged her head on her bathroom counter, then re-bandaged them and went in search of Rook. She needed to warn him that it wasn't safe to be with her.... She wanted to be with him, he made her so happy. But would it be right or fair in the end? She didn't know. But it wouldn't be fair of her to not warn him at least. But where was he? She left her room, still staggering a bit, and forced herself to walk normally again. She left the others' alone and headed straight for the throne room, hoping Rook was there.~

Jasmine thanked Xavier again, and followed Varen inside, the rooms were indeed plenty spacious and then she heard his proposal. Her eyes went shimmering and bright with tears... She stood there, feeling like a moron.... "Of course I'll marry you Varen. I know we haven't had time to process our situation, with everything going on. But I love you. I'd do anything to make you see how worthy...how brave and self-less you are. I never could understand why you're so hard on yourself..." She smiled at the thought of a young centaur in their lives, with his coloring and maybe her eyes.... would he or she have her gifts? and Varen's incredible strength and self-healing? It would be a wonderful thing to see. She kissed Varen then, and pulled him close. "I want us to be together, always Varen..." She said with a sigh. She'd always been in love with him and felt so happy he still wanted her that way.~

Rebecca shook her head and sat next to Niald. "I don't know. I don't think it'll be that nice here, Niald. And . . .I feel something is just really wrong with these people. The way they treat Claire, the fact they wanted to attack us all.. It's.." She thought for a right word. "It's hard to see that there would be anything I can really do here. They have a great Oracle, and I'm happy she's Nathan's wife. I'm happy for Caden and Laurana, and everyone- but..." She looked at the floor. "I feel less like a family member and more just. . .really lost." She admitted, not even realizing yet her golden highlights were still in her hair, or the fact her eyes had golden flecks. "I feel I should have been left behind." She added, somewhat bitterly.

Caden nodded and laid Lauranna on the bed, Thank you..."he said and then turned to the door, "What was your name please?" he felt stupid for not asking before then, but he was a bit overly focused on his wife and son.

Melise took Nathan's hand, "He is my husband, of course we will share a room." she said serenely. she led him to it, "Thank you Theresa...be patient my little friend. Time is on your side." As usual her speech was mingled with odd words that made no sense at the time, but looking back would seem very sage indeed. she reached for he handle to her room and opened the door. Inside was a very luxurious room, full of the most beautiful brocade furniture. There was a lounge chair on either side of a long sofa, all had carved wooden legs and arms with tufted backs. Fringed pillows were speckled around for the comfort of anyone seated at any one of the seats. There were matching tables of matching wood with even more detailed carvings on them under glass tops. A brightly colored woven rug was placed beneath them creating a cozy seating area for any guest she might have. There was a large door beyond the seating are that was almost two stories high that separated this area from her bedroom. Long sparkling beaded curtains fell from the top of the door to the floor. she turned to Nathan then, "I know you are still in mourning for your lost love Sovalna." she said in a gentle understanding tone, "We do not have to pretend we are something we are not if you are not ready. I love you. I have always loved you and no other." It was not a judgment upon him for allowing himself to love another but merely a statement of truth. she was glad he had not spent all that time alone and without hope, especially since he thought she was dead. She hadn't remembered anything about him until a week ago, perhaps that was merciful. Still she trembled as she waited for his response to her words.

Varen wrapped her tight in his arms and kissed her passionately, grateful she was willing to accept him with all his limitations. He had no powers aside from regeneration of himself and that was of no help to anyone but himself. He knew she could have anyone she wanted, even Xavier seemed interested and he was not having any of that. He was going to make her the best home and husband he possibly could. she spoke of his self doubts and he shrugged a bit, "Everyone had powers and ways to be helpful, but my powers are a benefit only to me. They cannot help you or any child we might have. But I will work as hard as I must to be everything you need, and I will never leave you."

Chastianna walked with Gavin, "I think the place is fine, it is only some of the people who are a problem, just like where we came from. I do not think all of the people here are cruel. Xavier was fine, and Tamsin and Claire and that other man...what was his name?" She frowned, "I can't remember but he was weird until he spoke to Rook. Now it seems he and Aldin are great friends. Maybe once King Jorga speaks to them all again they will see reason and let our lives speak for themselves."

Rook was in the throne room again because he had no idea what else to do. Pacing his room seemed a stupid waste of time, so he stood on the fringe of the room watching and listening and trying to stay out of the way. He was one of the ones causing the problems, with his obvious dark core and skin. There was nothing he could hide, aside from the fact that he had a dragon form. Luckily none of the people knew about that. He saw Claire and his immediate thought was to rush over and be sure she was well, but he stopped himself. She didn't want his help, didn't trust him and he needed to stop forcing himself into her space. It was the hardest thing he'd had to do in a long time but he somehow managed to force himself to stay where he was.

Naild shook his head, "No you belong here," he said as he took her hand, "I can see it clearly. Your inner fire is lighting and I am very sure with time you will feel this is your place to belong. even your hair is turning more golden and your eyes have golden flecks in them. Give your family a chance to know you and you them...I think things will turn our well." somehow he knew he was telling the truth, and not just trying to encourage her. Seeing ehr stand up to that huge guard, and defend her family solidified all of it in his mind.

Theresa smiled at Melise and nodded. "I'm Theresa. I am one of the maids." She told Caden, then curtsied and walked out of their room, knowing the new mother definitely needed extra rest.

Nathan took Melise's hands in his own, holding them as he gazed around the room, but then back into her eyes, lovingly. "I did, love Alna. Truly. But you were my first. The one I mourned even while I was with her. Time has passed. Years. . .I didn't see how I would ever find you again, Melise. After the loss of you and our daughter, I never felt whole. I was.. content. Happy. Yes. But, you were my soulmate. You understood me on levels no one- not even my brother, yes I remember him, and everything else now- could understand. I would not want to waste one more second in living a life without you." He told her quite honestly.

Claire entered the throne room and apologized first to Tamsin and Jorga. "I apologize... for angering Xavier and being careless. I know it was wrong to use storms to scare them away, they already distrust me enough as it is.." She added, looking downcast.! "I'll work more on doing what is necessary only..." She told them both, feeling badly for her reactions. And then she saw Rook, and walked over to the poor pacing guy. "Hey.. thanks, for helping. I was just in a bad space earlier. . .If it's okay with my father, would you like to go talk somewhere?" She asked, feeling worried about him as well. God being home made her feel awkward...

Varen's passionate kiss overrode all Jasmine's other worries and senses completely, as she fell to his unwavering embrace. "That's all I want, Varen. Do not think you have to be a superhero. We have enough of those running around here. I like that you're durable, strong and hard to knock down. I can always be myself around you, and that's a lot to me." She told him, leaning against him when they came up for air. She would never leave him either- though she wasn't as super-resiliant. She did have some powers at least and could use them to protect those she cared about.~

Gavin nodded. "Yeah, people no matter where you go, will sometimes be petty, rude creatures. Aldin's friend's name is Elisar..." He told her, and then paused at the last step, unsure wether to approach or not as Claire was asking permission to leave with Rook. He didn't realize it either, but his own hair was definitely changing from dark brown, to several golden strands.

Rebecca blinked at Niald, then looked in the mirror. Her gash on her arm was visible now because she didn't have a long sleeve, but she'd had much worse and was fairly certain it was nothing to freak about, it was scabbed over. But her hair. It was definitely losing it's red coloring, and her eyes were almost completely gold! She about flipped. "What the hell." She frowned at her image, really scared. She felt her core flicker a bit and touched the mirror, then saw it transform into a pile of gold coins! Was she becoming a freak?! "Niald- how did I do that and how do I transform it back??" She wished she hadn't looked in the mirror at all now. She remembered transforming the log into a gold coin, but this was crazy. She was really scared now to touch anything else and stayed in the center of the room, folding her arms.

Tamsin just listened to Claire and saw several cuts from the rocks people had flung at her. She'd no idea what King Jorga would react to such a thing; but she highly doubted it would go well.. She wished her friend Lazar was there just then. She could certainly use a small visit from one guy that seemed happy!

Caden smiled, "Thank you Theresa, you have been very kind." Once she was gone he slid onto the bed with Lauranna and their son and watched them sleep. There were probably a million things he SHOULD be doing but nothing seemed as important as this. His son was so tiny and perfect and he had skin a color not as dark as his own but not as light as his mother, the same with his hair. He wondered what his little eyes looked like and how his voice would sound. he was sure before long he'd know what the crying sounded like and he welcomed it. This was his family, his gift and he had no intention of losing it or wasting a minute of it.

Melise held Nathan's hands as he spoke. "Much time has past, true. I did not know until a week ago who i was, or who you were, so I did not have the pain you had. I am sorry you did. So very sorry." Her eyes roamed over him, "Your aura is still very pure in spite of all your pain and suffering. Your core as strong as ever. In this place you will be much needed as times change and the fae world unites. You will be adviser to the king, and an assistant to the healers when necessary." she smiled then, "All of your friends will have places of importance here...I have seen a great turning of the tides...there will be upheaval but when all settles life here will be forged in trust, acceptance and unity."

Varen smiled and held her close looking at their new home, "So...future wife...what would you like to do with this room? I will request what we need and get started making it."

Chastianna nodded, "Well...anyone can have a bad day...even you and I..." she said honestly, "I would like to be given a bit of grace when I have a rough one, so I am inclined to do so for others as well." she noticed Claire and Rook too and lifted a brow. That didn't seem like a good idea.

Xavier looked at Claire and that stern, pissed off expression was back. "Are you trying to kill me?" he asked, "Have I done something to make you want to see me dead at your father's hands?" A large strong hand raked through long thick golden curls, "Sorry...the answer is no. No one, not even your father is leaving the palace for the rest of today." He leaned closer, "Don't make me enforce that...you know I can."

Rook wasn't afraid of the big guy but he wasn't sure what he meant by that, "Enforce it how, may I ask?"

Xavier turned and looked at the dark one and showed him how. He seized Rook's mind and forced him to step forward and back and then released him. "THAT is how."

Rook blinked, "Well. That is effective." This was one powerful badass golden fae right here. He clasped a gentle hand over Claire's elbow and ushered her away from him, "Understood, no leaving the palace..." Once they were far enough away he looked at her, "Are you well? Forgive me for intruding earlier. The maid showed me your room and when you did not answer I became frantic with worry." He stopped walking and turned to her, "I know I am part of the reason all these problems are coming to your home. My dark core and skin are evident and once they all learn who my mother was it will not be safe to be seen with me. I understand why you want to walk away, I just want to be sure you are well."

Lazar approached the palace and was allowed to enter. He came in through the guard tower and walked into the throne room looking around before he stepped in fully. he saw Tamsin and the king and walked over to them comfortable and secure in his welcome. "what the devil was going on earlier?" he asked, "I was in my room and then I heard yelling and looked out and saw all manner of craziness happening."

Jorga looked at him and sighed, relating the entirety of the ordeal as well as what the Glen had decreed. "I thought the people would accept the others, and welcome them but they were vicious and vile."

Lazar frowned, "But why? Surely if they heard this..."

"I was not given that chance..we had to hurry them into the palace to keep them safe."

"I see...I am disappointed. Truly disappointed."

Jorga sounded tired and depressed, "As am I my friend, as am I." He saw Claire rush over and apologize and he hugged her and kissed her head and spoke some words of encouragement and she was gone to the dark dragon. "Forgive me, Lazar...I really must see to some things. We will be having another meeting tomorrow. Please be there. I would like you to stand with me when i address the people."

Lazar nodded, "It would be my honor Highness." Jorga nodded and then left to make his way to his office and the preparations for his speech and the gathering. Lazar then turned to Tamsin and placed a gentle hand on her arm, "How are you?" he asked gently, "Such an ordeal. I am sorry I was not able to be there to support you through all of that."

Naild held her arms and looked at her. "Shhh...you are still the same beautiful girl I have always loved and always will love. The color of your hair does not matter." His own hair was turning a brighter shade of gold as well and his skin was lightening, but he hadn't noticed it. he'd already been golden haired so the changes were less noticeable.

Laurana slept deeply, and had no nightmares for once. She just enjoyed Caden and her new infant's closeness for much of the day. She felt her strength gradually returning however, and knew by night fall she'd be in dire need of a shower, change of clothes, and to ensure her son was fed and cared for.~

Theresa made sure the kitchen was cleaned, kept in order and everything in its place. She even had a delicious heartening stew to brew on the stove-top. She really did stay busy much of the day.~

"I wasn't going to go outside-" Claire protested, and saw Xavier jump the gun and hurt Rook with that mental mind grab. She hugged her father gently back, knowing he had far too many problems. "Let me know if I can help with anything..." She told him, then went to protect Rook from further harm. "I meant, go to the library or some unused space in the palace. I am not trying to get you killed. But you do seem especially hateful towards me, but that is normal. I simply want to discuss some things with Rook. Will you allow me to go to the library?" She said in a tired, worn out voice. She really didn't want to go outside or even open the doors. She nodded to Lazar as he came over to visit... Her mind circled back to her earlier thoughts... she would leave this all behind soon. She just hadn't decided when or where or how, or was even truly committed to it..but it was a comforting option. Instantly, she sent healing into Rook's mind, knowing he'd have a mild headache. She walked further away from Xavier and apologized deeply to Rook. "Rook I am sorry I stormed off like that. As you see,... " She sucked in a deep breath, calming herself. "I am not liked here. Not even Xavier has liked me, ever. I am the problem child. . . " She ran a shaking hand through her hair as she leaned lightly against the stair rail. "I thought you'd left me the note because I'd offended you. I don't want to do that ever, I appreciate so much, all that you have done for me, Rook. I didn't know people could be...kind... to the likes of me until I met you. So I must warn you immediately. When you hang around me, avoid other people at all cost. Not only because your a dark fae.. " She thought a moment. "I am like a social pariah as bad as they treated Serena in the glen, they treat me very similar. So please, if anything starts to happen, I want you to protect yourself. Alright?" She asked in a softer tone. She knew Xavier would be glowering especially mean at her, but she was again, used to being that man's least favorite. Tamsin, and Jorga were all speaking with Lazar. She looked at Rook. "Would you still like to visit the library? It's a fairly quiet out of the way place." She offered. She was worried she'd be too much of a problem for him still....

Varen certainly knew how to make Jasmine's nerves tingle! "I think we can make it a very pretty place..." She said when they'd finally untangled from eachother. "We'll need a table, some chairs for our guests... Do we want beds like we had at the house in the glen?" She wondered.

Gavin was loathe to interrupt a meeting like what was going on down stairs, but jeez that Xavier took it out on Claire! He narrowed his eyes a moment, then simply dragged Chastianna back upstairs. "See that makes me mad.. Claire wasn't starting anything and he just jumped on her and attacked Rook with his mind blast.. Ugh. No thanks on that crap." He added, ushering Chastianna back to her room and shutting the door. "Yeah not interested in dealing with that." he said sighing a bit. It really bothered him when big jerks took their ego rage out on a female. But Claire was also a princess- like Tamsin! Had she no merit at all?

Tamsin smiled a bit at Lazar. "I'm doing better than Claire.. Jeez Xavier is rude." She shook her head, knowing Xavier was doing what he could to protect them all, but sometimes he was a bit of a brute to her sister. No way could she possible intervene however, and not make things worse. "The tension is pretty high in and out of the palace. One of our new arrivals has had a son, Claire's being knocked around and treated like crap again. The usual. She scared them off with her storm though. Was kinda cool. " She added, still watching Xavier from the corner of her eyes. Take a pill Xavier, she wanted to tell him, but thought better of it. "Anyway, how are you Lazar? Anything new going on at your place? I would love to visit you- but yeah... lock down here." She sighed. Life sucked when you were royal sometimes.

Rebecca took a deep breath. "But this magic...I need to learn to control i- hey Niald, your hair and eyes are changing too, so you know. You and your mom could be Goldens as well." She added, shocked she'd just now noticed his appearance..~

Xavier looked at Claire seriously exasperated, "When have I EVER given you the impression you were not valuable? Or worthy of my protection and attention?" he challenged. It wasn't his place to like or dislike any of the royals. They were his charges and he treated all of them the same. "I am not treating you any differently than I treat anyone else. ASK if you doubt it." He was sure Tamsin was still stinging from his earlier slap at her. "Anywhere in the palace is fine, and you know that. I do not have authority over such things, another thing you also know. But what I DO have authority over is your safety and the safety of those that are placed in my care, including your friend. This is not a normal day and you well know it." he was fuming mad so he left it off at that and stormed away to see the king about tomorrow's assembly and what security measures would be necessary. He'd had all he could take of pampered princesses for one day.

Rook let the man blow off steam and then went with Claire, "I will be happy to accompany you anywhere you would like to go. I do love books, so the library seems a good choice." He offered his arm, "And no, you have done nothing to offend me. You have worried me on several occasions but not offended me at all." He frowned at her though, "Claire, if you will accept a word from me...I think you take things too much to heart. I do not believe that guard meant to hurt your feelings. He is under a lot of stress....I could feel it...literally feel it." He sighed, "But I fear offending you with my thoughts on this matter...so perhaps I will refrain until a later time." he leaned closer though, "I can see that your father loves you and that your sister, though she spoke rudely loves you as well. If the people are as you say then they should be made to be accountable, as those who hurt Serena were so that others will not be emboldened by their actions to act likewise. If they continue to go unpunished nothing will ever change and they will harm others....possibly the new baby." He wanted her to see that she needed to speak up about things. "If no one knows what is happening, how can anyone help or understand?" He took in a deep breath, "At the moment though, I dare say youa re in more danger being near me than the other way round. I can become a dragon and they cannot harm me."

Varen smiled, "I want whatever you want. I am a humble simple man. I want you to be happy. This will make me happy." He kissed her then and looked around, "Very well a table and chairs...the bed...a wardrobe perhaps? what of a sofa? It will not do us much good, but our guests would be comfortable on it."

Chastianna blinked as Gavin dragged her back upstairs and shut the door behind them. She'd never seen him this upset before and for some odd reason it tickled her and she giggled a bit. "I'm sorry...it's not funny.." But saying that made her giggle more and she was turning five shades of red and could not stop. She was gasping for breath and almost passed out trying to stop. she stumbled back and landed on the sofa in her room and went wide eyed at the shock of it. THAT finally made her able to stop. Clasping a hand to her chest she shook her head, "I am so sorry Gavin...but angry...just does not suit you...at all..."

Lazar listened and frowned, "Xavier is always like that," he noted. The man takes his job WAY too serious. I'm surprised he hasn't had a stroke before now." He watched Claire escape with a handsome young man, "Well...Claire needs to tell your father what's going on and let him handle those ignorant abusers. There aren't alot of them, but they get other people riled up and then it's a problem. If those few were stopped I think the others would be reasonable." He shrugged, "Nothing new...just working on some new spice blends for the kitchen staff that they requested. And...I found another old tome in the library and I have been working on translating it. So far it is stumping me but you know me...I do not give up." She mentioned visiting him and he smiled, "I do miss your visits...it has been a while." There was a thick innuendo there between them but he did not elaborate lest someone overhear. "Tell me...did I see centaurs among those who arrived with you?"

Naild lifted a brow and looked into the mirror she had and frowned, "But...how? We were not from here...and my father was not..."

Jorga bade Xavier to enter and the two hammered out the necessary safety precautions for tomorrow. Xavier didn't like it. he wasn't satisfied with the plan and he didn't feel it was safe for the king or Lazar or anyone else that would place themselves with the king on this matter. But, he could not dissuade the king from this course, so he would do his best to protect everyone, like he always did. They didn't have to like him. he didn't expect them to like him. he wasn't given this job because he was likable...he was given this job because he was good at it.

Claire was a bit surprised at Xavier's outbursts and his pampered princess idea was way out of line! Ye Gods she wanted to blast a lightning bolt up his ass sometimes! She refused to believe he valued her at all and quietly took Rook all the way to the library, where the peace and quiet as well as thousands of books greeted and welcomed her back like a long lost haven. She sat with Rook at a table and did give him much consideration as he told her she needed to stand up to bullies, and to report them to her father as it happened. She sighed deeply about Xavier... "I should know this. It's just been... such a stressful few weeks, I'm afraid I can easily misinterpret him...I know he's the best guard we have and I shouldn't keep angering him. Used to, we did have now and then a friendly banter and we'd go on about our days." She paused, not wanting to ramble really. She leaned her head on the table, still looking bad from the earlier encounter outside. "All I want.. Rook... And I know you understand, and I am sorry they're being mean to you too. I just want people to leave me alone if they don't like me." She sighed. "I don't want anymore nasty drawings of me getting smashed by lightning, or ... or notes that call me hideous inappropriate names found in my bedroom." She paused, afraid to go any further. "I just want them to keep their hate to themselves, or have some common decency to ignore me whenever I go call storms or am outside at all. I just want it all to stop.. But my father and everyone else has more problems at the moment. I'm just . . ." She drew her knees up to her chin. "I'm so sick of everything sometimes I used to joke with Tamsin I'd rather be part of the sky forever than here... It's stupid and selfish I know that and I wouldn't -really- try to do that..." She assured him. She hated that he'd be disliked here too. "But anyway, hopefully the meeting tomorrow will get some of the attacks on all our new friends stopped." She said, not wanting anything to hurt Laurana, Caden or the baby especially!

"Gah.. how am I funny when I'm mad, Woman?" He asked Chastianna, puffing his chest out a little like a geek and then onery-ish tickled her on the bed! He'd show her funny! He also just liked hearing her laugh, so he went for that sensitive spot on her ribs!

Jasmine grinned as they plotted out the decorations for their room. "I do like, wardrobes. We don't use them no; but we could have shirts for when important people visit." She thought a moment. "A really nice table with a few chairs, maybe some pictures... I think that'd be alright for starters. If we'll be in the military a lot I don't think we'll be here often." She added, leaning her head on Varen's shoulder.

Tamsin blushed at Lazar's inuendo, but smiled. "Of course I'll visit you again- only when we're not barred in here because of stupiid people." She rolled her eyes heavenward. "And Claire does need to tell. But she won't. She's vile-y stubborn like that... She's always thought herself as the hated demon. And well.. " She paused. "A little on the alarming note- I hope to high hell Xavier doesn't find -this- out... People have left threatening notes and inappropriate letters and really awful drawings on her bed in her own room. But she locks the door any time she goes out. So I'm not sure how that keeps happening." She frowned a bit at a disturbing thought. Had some of the palace workers been encouraging Claire's despair perhaps? She didn't know, but there were other things to dwell on. Rook she knew, would take care of her sister like a wonderful gentleman would. Claire saw nothing of his dark fae side, or the fact his mother was evil. She saw only his kindness and gentle ways, which was what Tamsin also liked in Lazar. They'd met at a dance last year, and he'd made her swoon with his attentiveness to only her that night."The tome you've found sounds very interesting, Lazar." She said, then honed in on his interest in centaurs. "Oh, Jasmine and Varen? They're absolutely wonderful. They've carried huge loads, without even blinking... and Jasmine has elemental magic, but she doesn't use it a lot; and Varen has some sort of incredible self-healing/regenerative powers and is very strong. He's head over heels for Jasmine. They're quite friendly." Tamsin explained smiling. Then she noticed Lazar's darkened eyes and touched his elbow lightly. "What's wrong Lazar? Do you... know one of them?" She asked, worried for her friend.

Rebecca's eyes were wide, and she touched a strand of his softer, lighter hand, then quickly pulled back, scared her magic might change him into a desk or something! "Perhaps he or his grandfather were? And they didn't realize?" She asked, then wondered about Serena. "Niald... has your mom ever mentioned anything about her parents? Or where she's from?" She asked, curiously.

Laurana eventually woke, sleepy, sore, but very very content and a little bit more energized. "Caden..." She whispered, not wanting to disturb their sleeping child one bit! He was so beautiful, all his little fingers, toes, even his head was small, but his face was rounded, and already had similar features of his father. She smiled at the thought of her son possibly having her pink hair, and the thought was mildly hilarious. But she saw dark strands on his head already and grinned to herself. Good. He'd be at least like his father in appearance probably in a lot of ways. Her son yawned sleepily in her arms, reaching for her warmth. He melted her heart at once and she protectively cuddled him, yet was gentle in every movement. How could one small baby have come from her- so soon, she might add. "Pssst. Caden." She nudged him very carefully with her elbow. She probably wasn't supposed to be awake yet, but she felt fine.~

Rook listened to her and wondered how people could be so cruel to others. He'd bet they had never been on the receiving end of such an attack, or they might think better of it. Or possibly they were just like his mother...full of hate and bitterness that eats away any good thought or word. He reached over and took her hand, "People are going to do as they will, Claire." he said gently. "You cannot stop it, but what you can do is change how you react to it." His eyes were full of compassion and understanding. "The things my mother did to me...no child should have to endure such things at the hands of a parent...someone they believed they could trust. But, her behavior does not define me. it does not force me to be like her. It does not force me to hate others. I choose to see the good where I can, because I do not want anyone else to suffer as I did....especially if it is in my power to prevent it." He released her hand, and looked around at the stacks of books surrounding them. "I hope your father is able to change their minds about us, but Claire...I am not concerned for me. I will be fine." He furrowed his brows a second as he thought about what he was going to say next. "Before that gathering...your father needs to know the truth. He needs to be able to confront all of the problems of the city head on at one time. I think maybe you are selling him short. He can handle it, and he needs to know everything. I think he meant what he said about starting clean as the Glen instructed, but how can he do that if he has only part of the whole picture." He really wanted her to tell him, but he knew if she didn't he likely would. He just felt like it would help her to be the one to tell him, "I will go with you to tell him if you want...I am good moral support I think."

Chastianna squealed when he tackled her and tickled. Her laughter was echoing in the room until she could almost not breathe. her face was red and her sides were aching but she tickled him back. eventually though all the tickling and touching led to caresses and kisses and cuddling and soft groans and moans. she came up for air and smiled at him, "wow....."

Varen shrugged, "We may be required to wear some sort of uniform shirt or something...best to be safe." he grinned and listened to her plan. "I don't think this place is as big as it seems, so I imagine we will be here every night at least. And maybe we will be assigned to the kitchen..." He snickered a bit, thinking that wasn't real likely, but he was trying to mentally prepare himself for any possibility.

Lazar listened to Tamsin talk about things that had been happening to Claire, "What?" he asked alarmed, "If Claire doesn't speak to your father then you should...of I will. But that kind of thing must not be allowed to continue...poor Claire." He was shocked and disappointed, and he couldn't even figure out why anyone would treat Claire that way when they were so reliant upon her ability to keep crops watered and producing regularly. It ws stupid on every level. She changed the subject though to the tome he'd found, "It is...It's in an ancient language I believe, but the flow of it is odd and stunted. I will not give up though..." he grinned as he said it. Then she spoke of the centaurs and as she did so he felt prickles run up his spine. He looked at her very serious then and frowned, "Is there somewhere quiet we could go to talk??" He honestly cared about her, and her family and all of Malthen Ana and now his past was about to crumble in on him, but he wanted her to know the truth from his lips about who and what he really was.

Naild watched ehr jerk her hand away and thought maybe she found him repulsive now and didn't like how he looked, just like she didn't like how she looked. He shook his head, "I don't ever remember her saying anything about anyone..." He looked at his hands and turned them this was and that trying to get used to how they looked now. "Maybe they have genealogy books here somewhere?"

Caden didn't hear the first call but he heard Psst and jolted awake and shot off the bed, "What? What's wrong?" The instant he was up the baby started to fuss and then let out a loud cry. "Oh..sorry love..." he said and bent to kiss the baby, "Sorry little man..." he said gently..."You hungry? I bet you are...." He helped Lauranna get settled so she could nurse the baby and then pulled on the rope by the bed. Lauranna was going to need food as well, but baby first. "He's perfect. What should we name him?"

Reactions: Maggie
Claire's eyes were wide at Rook's tale of his mother's terrible abuse, and the fact she'd transformed him and imprisoned him in a dragon form made her feel worse than ever. "You're right Rook. I can try to change how I react to them and just -not- react at all. But I guess I do have to tell him, now, if he isn't busy planning out strategies with Xavier." She stood slowly, aching pretty badly, but holding her own as she always did, and held his hand gently. "I'll try to be brave and upfront. I'm not seeing him as incapable of doing anything, it's just that I hate to be the cause of more misery. Honestly he gets sad enough sometimes I hide even more, to prevent further distress... But I guess if I don't tell him and this.. continues. he will find out soon and be angry." She sucked in a breath, really not looking forward to this discussion. She felt like she was tattling like a two year old, and admittedly, she worried he would simply turn her way and ignore anything she said right then. "Let's get this over with.." She said, leading him back down the stairs, warily. She went to the throne room and saw Tamsin leaving with Lazar. But she wondered where her father was. She didn't go anywhere -near- those doors that lead outside however!

Tamsin smiled as she walked away with Lazar, not to the library, but to an unused guest room with a desk and a nice table. "Tell me, Lazar- why does Jasmine trouble you so much?" She asked softly. She knew he had a troubled past, could sense it... but he'd no idea how connected he and Jasmine were in a way.~

Gavin moaned as well, keeping them both quiet as possible! He loved their special times together as he called them. But when they finally were spent, he was content to lie still a while. "Indeed wow is a good word..." He murmured, running a hand through her hair.

Jasmine smiled at Varen. "I'm okay where you're assigned to as long as they don't get ideas and try to separate us for long." She said with a wink and an onery glint in her eyes. She'd be fiesty to a fault if they tried anything funny!

Rebecca understood he was worried she didn't want to touch him and shook her head. "No- Niald it's not you. I'm scared of this... transforming thing." She told him honestly. "And we could go to the library and look for the geneology books together, and read what we can on your family history... Maybe I'll find out about how to not transform things when I touch them." She added, putting her arms down and trying to be calmer. Maybe it reacted when she was stressed.

Laurana giggled a bit at Caden's stunned reaction to being awoken. And little man was crying away! She gently rocked him, soothing him instantly. "Shh, sweet boy, it's alright.. Dad and mom are spazzes right now, but it'll be fine. You just need food..." She looked at Caden as he pulled the ropes.. "Um.. I never did learn if it was okay to breast feed my son now? Or should we stick with formula and milk?" She asked him, uncertainly at this part. Hey, she'd only gotten half way through that pregancy book before everything went kaboom everywhere.~

Theresa heard the ringing, and instantly hurried up to Laurana and Caden's room, where her son was definitely fussing for the first time! "Pardon me, miss- you should be able to do both, breastfeed and bottle-feed. Either way won't hurt the young one." She assured them. She brought over some warmed up formula, and a few extra blankets. "It gets cold in here at night, certain parts of the palace are just drafty I'm afraid. There's a fire place over there should you need it." She gestured to the south wall. "But please keep resting Laurana. I'll bring some nice stew for you, everyone else usually joins in the dining hall for supper. I'll be right back." She added with a curtsy. Laurana thanked her. Her mind was too tired to even do a simple spell just then... ~

Rook smiled at her, so very glad she was looking at things a bit differently and hopefully seeing herself differently as well. He held her hand and went back to the throne room with her but they didn't see the king anywhere. "does he have an office?" He asked with a shrug. But then he saw a door and Xavier pacing and knew that had to be the place. He pulled her tucking her hand up close to his chest and covering it with his other hand, "I will be right here, no worries." and then he kissed her hand and pushed open the door, "Forgive our interruption," he said looking at the King and bowing in respect and nodding politely to Xavier. "Claire would like to tell you something important." He was feeding her core strength and never let go of her hand.

Lazar lifted a brow, "How did you know it was Jasmine?" he asked sighing heavily. "It doesn't matter..." He took a few steps into the room and dragged a hand through his hair. He turned back to her then and there was so much sorrow and pain in his eyes it was almost difficult to look at him. "First of all..." he said as he pulled a wand from his pocket and tapped it against his other palm, "Glamour gone" And suddenly the golden fae was gone and a man stood before her with jet black hair that fell in waves to his shoulders. There was a faint scar on one cheek that marred otherwise pleasant features. He had warm brown eyes and otherwise his physical shape remained unchanged. "When I arrived here...all those years ago...I knew I would never be accepted unless i was one of you. So I cast the glamour spell on myself and appeared as a golden fae. I had hoped in time other peoples would become accepted but that time never came, and so my ruse remained." He drew in a deep breath before continuing, "I am sorry I never told you...I should have...but gods woman...you are breath-taking and...I was afraid..." He watched her for signs of a reaction to this much before continuing. He was paralyzed with fear that she would walk out the door without even caring to hear more.

naild tipped his head, "Ok...but you touched the door didn't you?" he asked thinking through things. "Maybe it comes with thought...or...intent?" he was thinking out loud, "There has to be a book somewhere...I'm sure Morden will know...but I haven't seen...him..or mother in a while."

Caden lifted a brow, "what is formula?" he asked, "Nevermind...your milk will be the best thing for him. He is early and he needs things from you that he can only get that way. You will do fine...I believe such things are supposed to come naturally." He had NO idea about such things, but maybe...there was a female around that did?? And as if he'd conjured her up, there was Theresa to the rescue. "well..there you go..both..."

He watched the little elf zip around and nodded, "Stew sounds perfect....thank you. I don't want to leave them." He turned back to Lauranna and the baby, "So...have you decided on a name?"

Claire felt like utter failure-daughter as it was possible to feel, but she stood next to Rook, and knowing Xavier was still testy, carefully worded her years of abuse and poor treatment from those she'd sworn to protect and care for, not even leaving out the notes and drawings in her room that she'd kept locked in a desk drawer or thrown out altogether, she also didn't leave out the fact she'd found even longer letters in her closet, of detailed descriptions of why she should be killed, and how fun it would be for them to push her off a cliff or impale her the second she was alone outside. "And so I'm very sorry, for my actions Xavier. I -know- quite well how capable you are at your job, and how fair you've been to us, despite how stressful this job can be." She turned to her father. "I simply did not want to be the source or cause of any more despair. I feel you have suffered enough and no matter what anyone did or said, I should soldier up and bare it because there's enough to deal with." She finished, waiting for both their responses. She'd never mean to hurt Xavier's pride, or have him question his own judgement. She wanted him too, to know she appreciated his help and did not try to act irrationally, but some of the bullying had her more on edge and probably more sensitive than usual, but she vowed to correct that and become more mature about such things as necessary.~

Tamsin was indeed shocked! But she was an understanding creature most of the time, and knew he was right about the need for disguise. "You know you didn't have to hide your real self from me, Lazar.... But tell me... what is it that's so worriesom about Jasmine? She's a powerful centaur yes; but I feel no threats from her...and you're sweet...I'm just surprised by all this. Please explain everything?" She said, knowing he had a lot of dark secrets to tell her. But secrets were something she was used to keeping... Years of practice with Claire. She also knew the need to hide ones self, as often times she wished she could disguise herself and be someone else altogether.~

Rebecca was thinking the same and walked back over to the pile of coins, and thought "Mirror" at it. It instantly became the mirror again. She sighed in relief, transformed the other thing back, and was ready to walk out with Niald to the library. "I haven't either.. but then, they're probably enjoying their time to themselves right now and we should let them catch up a bit more." She added, not wanting to pester them right now especially. The journey had been hard on all of them..

Laurana smiled and agreed. "Hm... I was in the process of going through baby names when things blew up back there. I can't think of one that sticks. Surely you have a good name?" She asked, a little worriedly as she figured out the best way to feed her son first. She was in no shape to move around a whole lot, but some walking around the room in a little while could be helpful. She didn't want to push herself too much that day though. She'd get back to her normal self soon enough.~

In another few moments, supper was ready, but she wanted King Jorga to have a few more minutes to take care of some family matters as well as the precautions of tomorrow. She worried about -that- outcome a bit, but it was not her place to really have a say on such things. She simply made sure Laurana and Caden had plenty of stew that evening. "The kitchen is a bit of a far walk right now, so just pull the cord again and I'll take away the empty dishes and refill them as necessary." She assured them. Then she went to go inform others on the lower levels supper was ready if they wanted it.~

Xavier listened and though he did not expect or require an apology he appreciated the fact that she offered one. But what she was saying was causing him to indeed question his abilities as a guard. How were such things happening within the palace? WHO? WHEN? He let her finish and waited for the King to speak as was only proper and right.

Jorga rose from his seat and went to Claire, "My sweet daughter...you are never a problem to me. I love you. I wish you had come to me sooner..." Tears spilled from his eyes and he pulled her into a tight hug, "I am so sorry..." His tears met her hair as he held her a long time before stepping back and then looking at Rook, "I can only think this was because of you...thank you..." He knew Claire's nature. she would not have come alone to tell him these things. The dark prince had just jumped about a million feet up in his estimation.

Xavier bowed to all of them, "And now it is I who must apologize." his deep voice rumbled through the room, "It is my job to protect you, and I have not done so. I deserve to be punished or released from duty for such a breach of security here in the palace."

Jorga shook his head, "No...just find them. Use your way..."

Xavier nodded and then looked directly at Claire, "I think you believe I dislike you, or do not understand your value, but you are wrong. I know that without you we would all likely starve. I believed I was protecting you, but I promise you...before this hour ends they will stand before you and pay." His eyes were cold and intense and he bowed and left the room again, striding through the throne room like the hounds of hell were on his heels. Anyone who saw him gave him a wide berth because they knew what that look meant. He made his way to the guard tower and locked himself in his office and with a loud shout of fury tore off his shirt and moved to the far wall. His hands formed like claws dug into the stones of the wall like they were wet clay. His eyes closed and his mind opened and expanded to encompass the entirety of the palace. No one within its walls was safe from his invasion at that moment, not even the king. He could not single people out and find those he was looking for in the speedy manner he intended. The king had given permission and he was doing this HIS way. Some would be unaware of his invasion, others would possibly feel a slight tingling or a dull ache at their temple. He listened and probed into memories and thoughts of those that were suspicious. It took him half an hour to find them, but once he knew who they were he focused his powers on only those. Their bodies were his now and he had them standing in the Throne room in a straight line, and no one knew why, they just marched in and were not moving. His hands released the wall and he left the office, the remains of his torn shirt hanging from his waist and he strode past the line and into the king's office. His nostrils flared, "They stand before the throne."

Jorga was still speaking to Claire and Rook in his office, learning about the dark prince and gaining respect as time when on. He could see the lad's care for his daughter, and he was pleased. Xavier appeared looking like a beast, more than a guard and Jorga's eyes lifted, "very well." He looked at Claire and nodded, "Are you ready?" He asked.

Lazar heard her words but dared not to take too much hope from them. "I should have trusted you. I am sorry." He took a step closer, "Before ... a very long time ago I used to sell magical things to people...I rarely paid for them, but stole them. I had a particularly long string of bad luck gambling and needed a lot of money. The one I owed the money too had somehow found out what I was, and what sorts of things I could obtain." He let out an anguished sound. "I was no saint by any stretch of anyone's imagination back then. I was feared for good reason, but I had never taken life. I had harmed people and creatures...cut pieces of skin from them, took scales...but never killed...until that day." His eyes were so dead as he spoke, fearing her reaction and hating himself to the depths of his being as he exposed his true self to her. "The loan shark had demanded centaurs...he wanted a male and female...for a trophy room...to be stuffed and on display." Just saying it now made bile rise in his throat. "I should have let him kill me...it would have been better than living with this all these years." He forced himself to go on...I found them on a beach...she was young...her parents were the perfect fit for what I had to have to save my miserable worthless life...so...I killed them and left her alone there." He was trembling slightly as he relived that moment, and saw Jasmine's young face staring at him with horror and disbelief and then tears as her parents disappeared and she was left alone. Her image had been etched into his mind from that moment on and he'd never gambled again afterward. He began healing people, helping people. He came to the topside city of the goldens quite by accident and thought it was a chance to start over with a clean slate and he took it. "I deserve to die. I am ready to face this. I am tired of hiding."

Naild blinked, "OH....I suppose that's true..." He blushed a bit. he should have realized they hadn't had time to ..do the things married people did that he didn't want to think about his mother doing....ever. "I bet the library here is big...let's find it and see what we can learn."

Caden tipped his head, "Why don't we do what your parents did with you?" he asked, "Take part of each of our names. Lauden?" he kind of liked it but he had no idea what she would think. He held the door when Theresa returned with food, "Thank you so much. This is really very kind of you. We should be able to dine at the table tomorrow." he didn't want to keep causing her so much extra work with so many more people here than normal.

Claire gasped slightly as she allowed Xavier to see into her mind. It felt like a veil ripped off, torn away, and she was even as a kid, pushed into closets, rebuked and rebuffed by many, told not to ever stand near their sons or daughters. Then an older Claire, resting on her desk after a long day of training with the soldiers, reading note after foul note. Some far more explicit and embarrassing; others standing and mocking her for how she even had lightning bolts in her hair. "The Sky's Reject" she was sometimes referred to. She held Rook's hand a little tighter. And she had to wonder- had she played a part in any of this rejection? Had she ...caused and inspired so much hate some how? She didn't know, but she looked at her father and hugged him back. "I'm sorry. And.. I'm as ready as I can be. I only hope it's not like what Serena went through and the whole town is in it.." She added, wiping a stray tear from her eyes as she stood. She followed him and Rook to the throne room; where it did indeed look shockingly familiar. -Dozens- of villagers were there, some in disbelief and shock that they'd been found out. But one man was suddenly emboldened. "Whore- " He called Claire. "She's even standing with that Dark-Fae! She's the one who should be cast out! Your daughter is evil, sire!" Someone else called. Claire felt so hollow.. .. so unsure of what to do or say now. The people got angrier. There were forty five guilty people in that throne room alone. She started to feel dizzy. Her chest tightened from lack of air. The tension thickening in the room. She felt like shutting down, but she couldn't. She felt like she'd never be able to call storms again for anyone and her mind went into a dark tunnel she wasn't sure how to get back out of.~

Jasmine suddenly saw throngs of people being herded towards the castle, and tugged on Varen's arm lightly. "Looks like something is going on in there. Should we go investigate and make sure the others -especially Laurana and her new baby and Caden are safe?" She asked worriedly.

Tamsin felt tears in her eyes at what Lazar was telling her. "I'm so sorry Lazar... that you did that.. and that happened to poor Jasmine,... I'm crying for her because it feels like losing mine and Claire's mother all over again when we were young... but she hadn't been strong... And Jasmine... I think she looked for her parents Lazar- searched years all over for them but found Varen and the others. So she does have a good family now. Life has been that kind to her at least. I think... I think you should come clean with her; and tell her how things were then... what your reasons were. She seems very gentle. I have only ever seen her freak out when she's worried about Varen." She then paused, hearing something of a commotion inside the palace, many people moving. "I'm sorry, Lazar I think we're being invaded! Sounds like the angry villagers have come back. I must protect my family.." she said rising to her feet and opening the door. Yep, there were people streaming in. Most she knew from the village. Some hadn't been kind to Claire over the years though and she needed to find Xavier. "You should hurry out of here Lazar, I have a feeling it'll get ugly soon." She warned him, needing to get to the throne room. She acutely felt her sister was in actual danger this time.

Rebecca nodded, and was all too happy to head out of the room and find their way up to the library; quite unaware of anything going on down below them for the moment! The library was some ways off, but she sensed it was close. Weird. She'd never been here before- how did she know?

Laurana smiled at the beautiful name Caden had chosen. "It's perfect, Caden... And thank you again Theresa, this looks delightful, and should be plenty.." She assured the girl who smiled with a curtsy. "I'll bring some tea up later to help the flow of your milk." Theresa assured them. Such a nice family, she thought smiling as she left again. That was her way- quick and efficient.~

Xavier could hold their bodies under his control but not their mouths apparently. He stepped forward and let out a deep low growl that each man and woman standing there would feel in their bones because of his mental connection to them. He was not even slightly mindful of his torn shirt hanging about his waist like a common brawler at a bar. His full attention was on keeping rigid control of these people and if he was allowed the privilege to boil their brains while eh watched the drop one by one. He had heard enough though, "You WILL cease. I will not warn any of you a second time." That was not an idle threat either, all of them knew he could kill them with a thought.

Jorga walked over to the man who called his daughter a whore and drawing his own sword from its sheath at his side ran him through, knowing full well the man could not move. The sword withdrew and blood pooled at the man's feet but still he did not move. Jorga looked around at the others. He hadn't known what to expect, but this was far more than he would have believed. "Anyone else want to speak against my daughter?"

Xavier spoke again, "All of these have threatened, tormented and even attacked the princess. Not one can deny the accusation." His eyes bore into each one individually and once he made eye contact none of them could maintain it. They looked like guilty dogs that had gotten into the trash. None could hide their guilt.

Lazar nodded, "I will tell her all...all she will need to do is see this form to know..." he said and then hearing the commotion out in the Throne room flicked the wand and once again the glamour spell was in place hiding his true image. he saw all the people and Xavier and blinked, "Holy hell...they woke the beast..." he followed Tamsin and stood with Jorga and Claire. "If I were them I would be scared witless..." He liked xavier, but he had a good healthy fear of the man's powers.

Varen nodded and when they got to the throne room there were a bunch of people there standing oddly stiff in perfect straight rows. "That is the tidiest group or criminals I have ever seen...look at how..." and then he saw Xavier and both brows raised, "Maybe we should just stay over here and ...watch..." there was some kind of amazing magical show of force going on here and he was curious to see who was doing it.

Naild too seemed oddly to know where the library was without getting lost. And they were there and he looked puzzled by the fact, "That's weird...I feel like I've been here before...but I couldn't have been..."

Caden smiled, "I am very glad you like it...seems to suit him." He closed the door behind Theresa, "She's really very sweet. I don't think she ever stops moving..."
