Heather didn't know what to say to that. How could she think no other way than everyone was telling a lie... when anyone could be this traitor guy or girl. She held onto the man's shoulder, lightly. "Look... I don't want any enemies, I just want answers to why I am here." If something happened to the previous owners, than what if Lady Beatrice did it? What if she was planning on doing the same thing to everyone who was here now. "Well, maybe I can help you investigate? I am good at finding things, I found you."

@The Tactician
tumblr_inline_navtwrQEIQ1sfvecc.jpg

"If you wish for answers, then you had best ask the staff and not accuse them of being kidnappers. I have no recollection of you lot being set to come," The man was obviously tired of dealing with the woman, not taking lightly to being accused so abruptly, "And to find is not to discover. You found me by accident." Without another word, the man brushed off her hand and walked away, heading out the door of the library with his hood drawn. If Heather were to try and chase him down, she would find the hallway empty of any sort of life and no trail left by the man.

Strange, it was almost like he had vanished into thin air.

Deciding that she didn't want to risk the others possibly recognizing her, Morgan quietly slipped away from the group and headed towards the Living Room.Maybe there'll be a place for me to sit down in there and think by myself...

Bo was the only one in the living room at this point. He had become accustomed to the quiet atmosphere. When the girl suddenly walked in he stared for a while before looking away and throwing a hand up as a lazy greeting.

"Yo. Tired?"

"Mm, delicious! Never would've expected leftovers to taste so- urrk..."

That didn't feel good. Who the hell poisoned leftover soup? Who the hell ate leftover soup?! ...Besides him, of course. He stood up from his seat, bent over, and hurled everything he'd eaten onto the floor.

"Quite a rude way to treat guests, if I may say so myself." Walking away from the mess he'd made, he hovered over Ilona, coughing and all. "Do tell me if that curry is *cough* any better than that awful soup. I'm sure a good girl like you would be happy to share it, right?"

Turned out Ilona probably wouldn't be saying much, though.

Jason was prepared to wring the neck of whatever had been in this pantry to avoid the hassle of a chase. But his hand paused right before it gripped the young Ange's throat. If he hadn't stopped, he would have broken one of the two rules that he had. That was to never harm innocent children or animals. But something about this child's appearance confused Jason. Hadn't she just been a grown woman a second ago? Why was she a child now and locked away in some pantry?

With or without the child's permission, Jason gently wrapped his arms around her and helped her out of the pantry. He didn't give it a second thought as Herbert watched the display with an annoyed expression as he walked over and jabbed a finger into Jason's chest.

"I'm unsure of what obligation you feel to aid random children playing hide n' seek but I'm certain it's not the reason as to why we're here and you helping her won't get us any closer. You might as well have just left her in that pantry!" Herbert snapped before Jason's hand reached out and gripping Herbert's head, he forcefully turned the doctor's head to look down at the child. "W-What are you doing?! Get your hands off me-Huh..? Wait, aren't you the maid from before? How is it possible that you are a child now? Well child, do you have the answers we're looking for?"

"Um... my parents and my big brother tell me not to speak to strangers..." The girl would glance around the kitchen, taking in the strange cast of characters that she was surounded by, and then continuing,"... unless that bad Witch Beatrice had something to do with it."

So maybe she had info on Beatrice? But since this was her younger self... would be it any different or helpful in this case?

"Are you kidding me?" She rolled her eyes, the guy had vanished... what the hell. "Well that was fun, now what." Heather turned around, deciding that the library was going to be left alone for now. Heather walked off towards the LIVING ROOM, hoping she could analyze what had just happened. Once she got there, she noticed two people were there already. "Ummm... do you guys mind if I take a seat, I need to think over what just happened to me... so wierd." She took a seat on the couch. The instant Mettaton stepped forth out of the guest rooms and into the great outdoors, he took a moment to stop, and bask underneath the warm sun. "Oh, Shannon, this place is simply gorgeous!" she exclaimed, brushing her hands along the lush foliage while they passed it by. But as the group entered the manor itself, that's when Mettaton was truly blown away, his eyes lighting right up as they scanned over the lovely decor. "Darling, now I must know the name of your interior designer!" he pleaded with a hearty laugh, leaning in towards the maid to peck her on either cheek, "Pass that on to Beatrice for me will you? I've been looking to get a place on the surface for some time now." he chuckled, turning away with a wave, strutting towards the library. "Thank you!~"

The library still looked the same, just a few books lying on the tables and not in the bookshelves. Probably from the two occupants that just left the library. There were a few books and files that would seem useful and related to the Witch's Game that people have been whispering around about.

Man, that bowl of curry was hot, like someone put way too many spices in there. Actually, it was that spicy, you could've sworn that your voice cracked a bit from the immense heat. In actuality, you just lost your voice from it! Ilona has obtained the Voiceless Curse! ... she might want to get some actual ice to cool down her tongue, because the spicy taste was still lingering around. Ouch.

Comically, Ilona began to flail her arms in a wild manner after she had ingested the curry. She opened her mouth to cry out in pain, but no sound came from her lips. Afterwards, she began to fan her face and mouth off, almost panting like an overheated dog. The heat was intense! Her eyes watered so badly from the pain, she almost couldn't see anything either.

Wanting to quell the immense heat, the young woman began to run around the room rapidly, crashing into Herbert, a table, Jason, and then a chair. When her vision cleared after a moment, she still needed ice, but paused for a moment to apologize to the people she had run into.

She opened her mouth, but again no words came out. Oh shoot! The curry had done this to her, hadn't it?

Ah, no matter! I'm a master at charades! I'll give him the OK sign to prove to him I mean no harm! Um... how was that done again? Was it by putting together the thumb and pointer finger? Or by holding up the middle finger?

Kyle had gotten lost in the shuffle, losing the people he had been speaking with before as the maid escorted the group out of the room. Kyle had to admit, this was a pretty classy kidnapping. He was still wary of the majority of the people apparently kidnapped along with him, unsure if this 'Beatrice' had decided to kidnap an entire circus group alongside him. Yeah, apparently. A few of them could be plants... Actors. Maybe more than a few. The girl in the fish get-up had said she wasn't wearing a costume, but it wasn't like Kyle had never met someone completely dedicated to their act. Work as a detective in a big city long enough, and you met all sorts of people. Kyle had found that actors were always the hardest to deal with.

Despite the perplexity of his environment and the odd circumstances behind how he got here, Kyle managed to focus his attention toward Shannon. He lagged behind the others, but stayed close enough to the maid to hear her answer the others' questions. This was all entirely strange and intriguing. A bit scary too, of course, but there's no time for being scared.

KDrRj0M.gif

"Not sure I'm of the right state of mind to even begin trying to decipher this thing."

Looking upon the epitaph, the ex-detective could practically feel his eyes glazing over. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, deciding that he'd have to do a bit more snooping before he could put real thought into this riddle. That was, if it even mattered at all. Kyle imagined it would eventually. This was meant to be a game, right?

Some game. I feel like I've dropped into a dream.

Thoughts bounced around in Kyle's head, his hands twitching with the desire to write this all down. He never had a chance to ask the maid for a notebook. Well, assuming she would even give him one. As he mused over this, Kyle found himself wandering toward the kitchen. It wasn't until his feet stepped upon the tiled floor that he even realized where he was. The ex-detective admonished himself for losing focus, eyes peering intently at the group of people crowding nearby. He was about to comment when one girl-- about eighteen or so, striking blonde hair-- suddenly ran about the room and crashed into a chair.

She then flipped the others off. Kyle almost laughed. He walked up to the girl and stood over her, piercing eyes staring down at her. Despite his amusement, he looked deathly serious. "Hey, kid, you okay?" he asked, crossing his arms.

Silently letting go of Morgan without a word, he would raise his hand to Guillo.

"Peace. There is no need for that. We are all brothers and sisters of the Lord, and we must all treat each other as such," he spoke calmly, not seeming to be affected by Undyne's remark now. But being called a nerd? That was too far.

"The... pearl?" He questioned in response to Yuna, raising an eyebrow. Hopefully, his Japanese wasn't too rusty, but then again, anything goes in this kind of place, "I've never heard the Lord be referred to as a pearl before, unless you mean to imply that he is precious?" Pucci asked, crossing his arms behind his back, "Are you by chance a devout follower as well?"

At this rate, you all would get the sense that this was some odd kidnapping incident, and if you were left here any longer... surely someone would die due to lack of supplies here.

Well, all of you are in luck, because there happened to be someone opening the door that would lead you out of this somewhat cramped guest room (well, what do you expect with more than 30 people jammed in one room?).

That someone wasn't really expecting this many people in the first place, but you couldn't blame her for it. The young woman appeared to be a maid of a sort.

308

"O-Oh my... um..."

Feeling as this was a bad time, the maid was about to walk away, but of course, she stopped after one footstep. As if she were remembering some distinct orders pertaining to everyone present.

308

"A-Apologies... I simply wasn't expecting this many guests invited over by Madam Beatrice..."

By just the mere mention of the name "Beatrice" definitely sparked interest in those that knew about the "Witch's Game" according to Ange, who apparently wasn't back yet from her cat chase. Oh dear... it looked like the maid was going to faint, but of course, she had a task to do here, and she didn't want to fail that task.

"... um... I see that majority of those present want to see Madam Beatrice... in that case, I can lead you all to the main manor. Once we arrive there, I'm free to... answer all of your questions if so. ... and maybe I can see if Madam Beatrice is fine with seeing you all in person..."

Well, how convenient. For a normal-looking maid, she didn't seem to be that bothered with the fact that some of the supposed "guests" appeared out of whack, but that was probably because she was just a maid under Beatrice the Witch. Maybe this was normal on a daily basis?

"O-Oh... I almost forgot to introduce myself. M-My apologies... You can refer to me by the name Shannon. Now please, follow me as... I-I escort you to the manor."

Once Shannon began to usher herself and everyone else to the exit to this building, which was actually the guest house and not the real mansion, it's no wonder why she was referring to another manor in the first place. Besides, maybe with this, you'll get the answers you all want answered. Or maybe not.

The path was almost like something out of a fairytale book. Everything appeared perfect. No cracks in the pavement. No signs of dying vegetation. The sky above had little to no clouds that could obscure the day's sunlight. As it was perfect... it only looked that way. Not to mention that there wasn't anything relatively... magical around here. They were all invited by the Golden Witch, but it was just plain weird that they were first thrown into a relatively normal and perfect-appearing setting.

"... it's been quiet lately."

The maid would mumble quietly to herself, but realizing that she was with many other people, she yelped a quick "Sorry!" before returning to silence as she lead them to the front of the mansion.

"H-Here we are... now... um, give me a moment to... unlock the door."

Upon announcing their arrival to the mansion's front doors, Shannon would fumble with a set of keys she had with her. Being clumsy, she happened to drop the keys onto the floor, prompting her to quickly mutter out in a hushed whisper "sorry" again before picking up keys up and finally unlocking the door into the mansion.

"... s-so it turns that I do have some time to spare... with questions, so you can do that if you wish. Um... feel free to tour the mansion as much as you like too... it's been awhile since we had guests over. J-Just don't go to the room upstairs. That's the living quarters that Madam Beatrice keeps herself in, and I rather not bother her without the proper notification of it..."

With that said, Shannon stood by the painted portrait near the back of the entry room, getting some cleaning supplies from the corner of the room to leave the plaque that was right next to the portrait frame. It was a viable option to ask Shannon on what this whole deal is with "Madam Beatrice."

There were some locations that they could attend to, now that they were within the mansion owned by the Golden Witch Beatrice, if their suspicions were correct... Those locations were the:

Sarah Connor was both relieved and tense at the door opening and everyone being let out of the room. Relieved because she (and the others) would not be sitting ducks in case of some attack against them... tense because being out of that room would bring more uncertainties. But, there was some hope mixed in... would she find Pops somewhere along the way? Did he somehow get locked out of the room and was trying to find her? This would make it easier...

But as they progressed towards the Mansion, it become more and more a realization to Sarah that Pops wasn't here. She sighed, but kept his words in her mind. Take care of yourself. She thought about the options available, and chose to go to the dining room. Humans had to eat after all... but it was also the ideal place for Skynet to place a trap for her. Still... she was getting hungry and if she didn't take care of that sometime, then Skynet would accomplish their goal.

So, she went to the dining room.

The first letter of the bunch was written in the same handwriting as the invitations that everyone else was sent, but the content was rather different...

My Dearest Kinzo

I hear your cries for me to return ever so clearly. Out of many that believe me to be a myth, you are one that I can depend on believing in my existence. I am your beloved mistress after all. I feel as if you're starting to lose that charm you once had, my beloved. As the Endless Witch, I can grant you eternity. In return, I ask of your fortune and estate. Even for those I love, I cannot do such favors for free. For that alone, I offer this trade to you.

~Golden Witch Beatrice

The reply that was attached to her letter happened to be... it was hard to describe it. With a little paper clipped onto the original letter, all that was seen as a reply to the letter was some sort of magic circle.

Read the next letter.

Or look at the diary or the legend book?

"Partner...? No..." Morgan gave the girl a strange look, not understanding what she meant, before a sudden realization came upon. He's... He's actually is here! That means she's here as well! Momentary dizziness took over her as joy filled her heart and she sat down on a couch. I can actually save them... Everything will be fine...
Bo, seeing that the girl liked to keep to herself from her one word answers, decided to try his hand with the other girl. This time he stood up and approached her. They were both significantly taller than the four foot male. A sense of inferiority came over him as he looked at the girl before him. Leaning back he cleared his throat to get Heather's attention.

"Hi there. How ya' doin?"

@The Silver Paladin @The Tactician @Shattered♦Secrets™

Huh. It seemed that Deedee had unintentionally earned more attempts to comfort her.. But, they were probably needed. Not that she wanted to admit that. So, the child just forced a small nod and a small reassuring smile when Morgan asked if she was okay, clearly trying to reassure the others she was alright... Though, that was the last thing she felt.

As they were whisked away go somewhere new, the child hesitantly reached to take Mark's hand again. She would likely just follow wherever he went.. Unless someone would carry her, or something.

@Forrest @Kaykay @The Tactician @Anybody~
Mark took Deedee's hand, having seemingly calmed down since his little outburst at Shazam. The strange maid woman he hadn't bothered to talk to led the group inwards to an enormous mansion, before questions started flying and riddles and cryptic answers and poetry were offered in return. He blew a sigh at the group milling about, doing whatever, but the idea of a library did catch his attention. Paper, and books....how long had it been?

"Come on, Deedee, let's check out that library."

He said, keeping a light grip on the girl's hand as he walked over to the library.

After her attempt at a decent gesture, Ilona could hear someone close by chuckle at her. She glanced at the man who had laughed, realizing one thing: if someone had laughed at her gesture, it must've been the wrong one. Great. Her cheeks immediately flushed red and she glanced away for a moment, embarrassed.

That's the last time I try to use gestures to explain what I'm talking about. I've spent far too much time training with those woodland pokemon and have apparently forgotten many of the signs I learned in other sections of the multiverse.

Opening her mouth to speak to the man, Ilona realized again that she couldn't talk.

Okay, now what? I guess I'll stick to pointing until I obtain a pad of paper to write on. What a horrid curse! I do hope it doesn't last very long...

Ilona pointed to the bowl of curry she had been eating from, then pointed to her mouth. Afterwards, she grabbed her throat with both hands and shrugged her shoulders.

Sorry, good sir, but I can't talk. Maybe once he or any of the others understand I'm mute they'll help me find paper I can write on. It's a shame Mew isn't here. He'd be able to read my mind and help me out...

Pucci just received a blank stare for a little while. Then he got some laughter.

"No, no, the Shinju-sama! Written with the characters for 'Holy Tree?' The deity for humanity?" Sounded like the Lord Pucci worshiped so much. Sort of. "Um, I do follow him, though. He's the source of my power, though it doesn't seem to be working here...Maybe he's chosen new heroes..."

"Um... my parents and my big brother tell me not to speak to strangers..." The girl would glance around the kitchen, taking in the strange cast of characters that she was surounded by, and then continuing,"... unless that bad Witch Beatrice had something to do with it."

So maybe she had info on Beatrice? But since this was her younger self... would be it any different or helpful in this case?

"Also... I think you're talking about miss Shannon. ... not sure why you would confuse us because we're super different."

Well, for a possible six-year-old, she didn't seem that shy at first.

"For a child, your tongue's as sharp as any adults. But your attitude remains that of a brat. With that established, as far as I can tell you can cooperate with us or return back to the pantry from which you were found. I imagine you'd prefer for the former of the two options. So, why don't you-?" As Herbert was rather blatantly threatening the child, Illona bumped into him nearly causing him to fall over. "Insufferable wench, do watch where you're going! Not all of us have the same inclination to play around." The doctor scolded as Illona then bumped into Jason as well. "..Jason, don't do anything rash. It was clear that the woman did not mean to bump into you despite how foolish it may have been."

Jason looked down as Illona bumped into him in the midst of her curry aftermath. Normally, he would have grabbed Illona and twisted her head off or something equally as brutal but efficient. But he had other matters to attend to like the child he'd found in the pantry of all places. Despite what she said, Jason was still very confused. How could she be the maid from before yet be a child? That just didn't seem possible. At the mention of Beatrice's name, what few brain cells remained in Jason's rotted cranium began to kick into gear as he nodded his head up and down to signify that yes someone by the name of Beatrice had something to do with why they were all here.

If he helped this child out maybe she could help him find his machete. But as he was not the most vocal of people, he had to inform the child of who he was. Glancing around, he'd notice the bowl of curry and dipping one of his fingers into it, he'd write his name on the wall for the child to see so she'd have an idea of what to call him.

'Jason.'

"So eloquent." Herbert mocked at Jason's impromptu signature made with the aid of curry.
