"I'm not conflicted about that! I'm conflicted about what to do. I know I should help Aqua, but there's tension there. So, I'll just stay here. WIth you two. My nurse, and my girlfriend."

"Wait, what?" Junko paused for a moment, shocked into confusion. "Girlfriend? Look, Doc..." Junko placed her hands on her hips. She blinked, her head still feeling a bit flushed and dizzy. "Do you know what kind of life I lead? I'm a model. I'm an icon. Even in these wastes, I stand out as the queen of fashion!"

Mid-Chapter Update
"The Dark Apprentice Awakens"

After Alice found and destroyed one of the Vanitas pieces at the Twister Trench, the group discovered no missing children were in that area. So they quickly moved to leave and head back to the Fissure so they could gather more information.

Frank and the group at Dark Cave, however, found missing Riku and Kairi, helping to escort them back to the Fissure. When the groups brought the children back to the fourth tent, their families were grateful.

"Well, just as promised, I'll give this to you for your help. We really appreciate you finding our children," she said, offering them the necklace

Aqua stepped forward and took it, turning away from the woman before smashing it in her hand.

"Well, our task is complete," she said afterwards. "Now we should be able to find and destroy the divergent--"

"Looking for me now?" the voice of Vanitas would say, playing in the heads of the group. "If you're all ready to come and face me, I'll be exactly where I told you I would be at the beginning. Come find me at the Fissure. I'm looking forward to a challenge, especially from you, Aqua. I hope you've actually grown a nerve since we last met."

With a dark chuckle, the voice faded.

"I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going to face him," Aqua declared, moving to leave the tent.

When the flap of the fourth tent was opened, outside of it--in the middle of the camp--the group would find a shocking sight before them.

Frank and Lisa could be seen dead on the ground. Frank appeared to have been stabbed while Lisa appeared to have an arrow stuck out of her body.

Aqua closed her eyes, a feeling of dread overcoming her. "It was the traitors again. We were all inside the tent and didn't even notice. This is... awful..." Aqua wanted to stay and check into who had killed them, but she wanted to go take care of Vanitas as well. She moved to stand in front of the entrance of the tent and quietly think to herself for a moment before contemplating whether or not to leave.

So, for now, it appeared as if the group could either stay at the fissure to continue looking around inside the tents, investigate the bodies, or go to the Fissure to face Vanitas.

"Hm enough of this fighting. Coco, capture the creature now," Joshua said after a moment, watching carefully.

Coco nodded. "On it, boss!"

The little one tossed the pin at the monster, the soul getting sucked inside as if magnetically being drawn inside.

Afterwards, Joshua stepped towards Max and Bayonetta, gesturing for Ridley to follow.

"So, this is what I believe happened," Joshua began, "What just attacked you was a dark soul of one of your departed friends, possessed by Akibahara. Meaning things are starting to get serious. I know all of you would like to return back and help with the war, but I'm afraid at this time I'm only going to let one of you return. The other two who stay with me--plus those who just died--are going to stay behind and help me hunt down some of these monsters."

Joshua smirked at Ridley before glancing at Max and Bayonetta.

"Before you, you'll see one of the traitors who was responsible for death in your group. I'll let her decide which one of you can come back to life. This ought to be interesting. Both of you had better come up with good reasons to convince her..."

Meanwhile, Frank and Lisa would appear in a blank, white room--alone for the moment...

After Coco managed to slip away from her, Max had made a few aborted attempts at rewinding and trying to grab her again to no avail. Once it became apparent the kid was helping fight the shadowy thing, however, she stopped, and contented to keeping her head down for the time being while the others dealt with it, unable to do much to help out herself but on alert in case a quick rewind was needed.

Once the matter was settled, the young woman breathed a sigh of relief, remaining quiet per her nature and regarding Joshua with a raised eyebrow as he outlined his ultimatum. Before long, however, her gaze wandered to Ridley, who she'd been trying very hard to ignore ever since her appearance. Her being here could only really mean one thing, and that was that she was... dead. And there really wasn't a way to approach somebody about that, so she didn't bother trying.

But according to Joshua, there was more to it than that. Ridley was a traitor, one of the people responsible for killing so many of their number. Not the one responsible for killing her-- it was a little hard to forget being strangled by fucking Makoto, of all people-- but a killer all the same. One would be forgiven for thinking Max'd be pissed right about now. After all, she'd never liked this girl while they were both alive. She gave off a bad vibe from the very start. Max wasn't even surprised she was a killer, though she hadn't necessarily been one of her prime suspects. "Pissed" seemed like an appropriate thing to be feeling right about now.

And yet... Max didn't feel anything. Well, maybe that was a bit of an overstatement; she felt pity, and... that was about it. She didn't know any of the details, but she wasn't mad at Ridley. Not about this, anyway.

"...I'm sorry you died. Even if you were a..."

It took her some time to speak, and when she did it didn't take long for her voice to give out. She cleared her throat and tried again, using her hand to brush a portion of her short, brown hair back behind her ear.

"You... probably don't wanna hear it. Look, I don't know why you did what you did. I don't know if you give a shit about any of this... all I know is that I'm useless here. I don't mean to sell Bayonetta short, but my power can do a lot of good for the others who're still alive... meanwhile, I can't do anything against these-- these corrupted soul-things. If there's any part of you that wants to at least try and make up for all the harm you did, a good place to start would be sending me back... but if you're really some heartless monster like you kept saying while we were alive, do what you want. It's your decision. Just remember, no one is born a monster. A real bad guy's only a bad guy if that's the role they're hellbent on playing."

Booker felt some sadness wash over him seeing the once mighty Frank Castle lie dead along with his daughter. Maybe it was for the best, Ridley had been executed, it made sense that her ally perished as well.

Booker frowned and stepped forward and investigated the bodies

Those who went to look at Frank and Lisa's bodies would immediately notice they each had a few stab wounds on their bodies. They were shallow wounds, no particular wound seeming enough to kill either one of them in one strike. It must have taken a couple stabs to do the deed. The group would also see that one of Frank's arms was cut off.


The communicators then began to beep, reminding the group to vote for who they thought the traitor was.​

"Let's do a little social experimenting of our own, Doc." She tilted her head.

"That's a euphemism as well, just so you know."​

Hearing that, Sakuya barged back into the tent. "No! No, no, and no! There will be no social experimenting here! Just get better already!" she shouted at Junko. "Okay, Riley, what supplies do you need?" she asked, starting to reach into her outfit. "Just hurry up and make her better, I don't need to hear this anymore."

Meanwhile in the outside zone of the Fissure, Raynor was standing idly by one of the tents, solemnly drinking out of his flask and kicking up dust. It seemed this place was starting to feel more like home; with people Jim meets suddenly dying or turning into monsters, or something even worse. Raynor didn't even know Frank for more than a few minutes and he already feels like he could have done something to stop him from getting a dagger in the back. Frank didn't deserve what he got, at least from what Raynor saw, and Raynor hates nothing more than seeing pointless death.

And because Raynor was with Frank, he cant help but feel slightly responsible for what happened. If any of Raynors (living) friends were around they would be telling him to get over it and that its not his fault. Whatever the case, Raynor was now emotionally committed to getting this mission done. That is, if he stopped drowning himself in alcohol. It was the only way Raynor knew how to mourn.

Raynor looks at the various others in the Fissure, staring in awe at some of them too. They are certainly weird folks but they seem to be on Raynors side at the moment; and Raynor never backs down from a solid alliance...especially with aliens. (Open for RP)

Joshua decided to Stay for the while at Fissure seemingly looking at Aqua "I shall follow in a moment!.. I need to buy some new ah.. Equipment." Referencing the fact that his Assault rifle was one magazine left from empty and his pistol 2. He would go to one of the shopkeepers who sold the Papao however the fuck you spell it fruit. He then proceeded to point at one and asked "How much for one? And do you have any ammunition? I need it desperately to fight... Fight someone dangerous." He asked the shopkeeper

When Joshua would speak to the moogle at the store, he replied. "Yes, kupo, we do have more paopu fruit in stock. You may have one for free. Sadly, we don't have any ammunition to give out. We don't have too many resources here..."​

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh...well that's just a tragedy." He decloaked once more, now hanging out at the Fissure. "Yep. That's a serious stab wound. Another one bites the dust...that reminds me! The Charmed Ones also died. Oh and it wasn't me. Just saying. They kinda went a little fucked in the head and killed each other. I was a little taken back, not gonna lie." He nodded sagely.

"That said, I am a bit of a knife aficionado so if you want someone to check out the wound, I'm your guy. Knives, Kukris, Machetes...you lose me at swords though. Unless it's an energy sword but then those are--wait you fuckers and idiots don't even care." He shrugged, kneeling.

"Tsk tsk." He shook his head. "Two Castles brought down by a stab and an arrow. Must have been some weak-ass castles. Made of sand." He surveyed the wound closer, partly out of a desire to admire another's work and give him ideas on how to deal with Arya when he had his chance, partly to see if he could find clues or whatever and partly to use some sleight of hand to see if they had anything valuable in their pockets.

"Punisher. Pfft. How embarrassing." He paused, looking over to their discarded weaponry. "Those, however...hmm."

Sakuya sighed. He was strange, but didn't really have a good reason for refusal. Bringing a third apple to the present, she held it up to him. "Here," she said quickly, trying to not have to talk with him too much.

For you too, maybe~" Junko seemed to have a glint in her eye as she looked toward Riley. "Riley's in a bad place, and I think we need to make him feel better! Drop me, Shiki, so we can get it on!"

Once on her feet, Junko pointed to Nicki. "You have to set the mood with a song! Make it hot and about butts, maybe? Boys, I just want you to know you can get me all hot and bothered if you do a little making out, okay? I'm sure it'll be a good time for everyone."

"She is going to be just fine," Sakuya told Riley, annoyed. "Let's go somewhere else."

Riley shrugged. "My world is a hellhole. I could use a change of pace from my world. When we return, I'll try it if you want me to." Riley shrugged. He took another bite of the apple, and muttered "I now know what Vault 69 felt like."

"I'm sure you do know what 69 feels like," Shiki said, taking the apple offered to him by Sakuya without a word and taking a bite out of it, licking his lips briefly to lap up the juices that would drip out, "In any case, it seems like Ms. Junko has come down with some fever, and she needs some... operation. Sounds like she needs some... stimulation first. Hmm?" He continued, leaning in closer towards Riley, putting a finger on his forehead, "I'm inclined to obey Ms. Junko because it isn't in my nature to obey a sick woman... Oya, you'd call her your girlfriend, eh? Are you gonna disobey her then even despite that? Heh, if we're going to do some sort of double date, perhaps I'll help myself to Miss Sakuya after all."

"...you...you just realized that?" Sakuya sighed. She had thought it quite obvious. Or maybe Riley was just dense. She looked over to where he was pointing. He wanted a bottle? Would that actually help, or was he just thirsty? With a shrug, she went over and picked it up, bringing it back to Riley. "Here you go."

"I'm not one to catch on quick. There aren't very many women in the wasteland, and most are prostitutes." Riley took a drink of the soda. "Helps calm my nerves." Riley said.

@Anybody interested in investigating the bodies


Those who went to look at Frank and Lisa's bodies would immediately notice they each had a few stab wounds on their bodies. They were shallow wounds, no particular wound seeming enough to kill either one of them in one strike. It must have taken a couple stabs to do the deed. The group would also see that one of Frank's arms was cut off.


The communicators then began to beep, reminding the group to vote for who they thought the traitor was.​

So... someone what knows how to use a blade of a sort?

Red thought about this curiously in his head. Of course, Pikachu didn't try to look over to where the bodies were, since the little innocent Pokemon didn't necessarily like that kind of thing.

Riley silently pointed to a bottle of Nuka Cola he had placed on the ground.

Hearing that, Sakuya barged back into the tent. "No! No, no, and no! There will be no social experimenting here! Just get better already!" she shouted at Junko. "Okay, Riley, what supplies do you need?" she asked, starting to reach into her outfit. "Just hurry up and make her better, I don't need to hear this anymore."

Junko flashed Sakuya a dirty look, but otherwise ignored her. Riley was totally giving her mixed signals here. She did flash Shiki a smile, however.

"I'm totally... uh." Junko thought this over for a moment. "... 19, yeah! You see, I lost my memories of, like, my two years at school. I guess that turned out to be Makoto's fault, that strange boy! It doesn't really matter though, because..."

"I suppose being mind controlled is more acceptable than... what I did." Claire looked idly down at her communicator, thinking over the latest developments. The group had managed to get a lucky streak going with determining who was to blame for the latest deaths, but this one just seemed to be a repeat of the last. With Ridley dead, certainly that couldn't be right... Sighing, she looked up at Aqua, concerned for her blue-haired friend. Claire wasn't quite sure what was going through her mind, but having been called out specifically by Vanitas, Claire knew it had to be dragging on her.

"You don't have to fight him if you don't want to, Aqua. No one would blame you. Well, I wouldn't. There are many of us who can fight, you know." She smiled a little, closing the distance between them. Without trepidation, she placed a hand on the other woman's shoulder. "Look, you've already been working so hard for everyone. I have to thank you for saving me from whatever that thing was. We can spend our time investigating the body, or... just talk, even."

"Maybe," Aqua replied, side-glancing to Claire when she approached. "But whether they had been mind controlled or not, I just feel bad they were dragged into this war because of me. The only reason they came was to help me out, and Akibahara made them into traitors because of it. I suppose it should be the least of my worries right now, but I still feel bad for them..." The well being of other people, especially her friends, was always a concern on Aqua's mind, whether she had more important things to think about or not...

The master ran a hand through her blue hair and touched her forehead afterwards. She hardly even noticed Claire touch her shoulder; Aqua was completely comfortable around her. "I know, I know, you're right. I just--" Aqua pulled her hand down off her forehead and tightened it into a fist. "I feel sort of responsible for him. Do you know what Vanitas is? He's the dark half of my friend Ventus... Ven wouldn't want him running around hurting others, and neither do I."

Claire's words were tempting though. Aqua would've loved to take a break from fighting and do something else. The keyblade wielder smiled faintly at her friend. "You know what I'd really like to do? I'd like to just talk and have a conversation that has nothing to do with fighting, the war, traitors, or Akibahara," she said, chuckling sadly. "For more than ten years now, I haven't really had the chance to spend much time just being... Aqua... instead of... Master Aqua." She loved to fight, but that wasn't what Aqua always wanted to do. Taking the time to be a normal person every once in a while would've been nice...
