Noembelu's nose wrinkled at the smell of liquor. She'd never really had any to drink, but that smell brought back some...less than savory memories. She almost expected a certain someone in a balaclava to burst in. But you had to be polite when someone offered you a drink, right? Besides, she was the legal drinking age back home... "Glass. Thank you."
"Glass it is." Toffee replied with a nod before pouring Noembelu a glass of the alcoholic beverage. Once he did so, the Septarian would set down the bottle and hand Noembelu her glass before picking up his own. After taking a sip out of his drink, Toffee would smile at her before attempting to make small talk.

"So, you mentioned that you know Ms. Maximoff through a friend, correct?" Toffee asked, having been paying attention to what everyone had said earlier.

@Yun Lee

Noembelu took the glass, cringing as the smell was even stronger how. This was...well, she had no idea what kind of drink it was. It was brown, and beer usually came in cans, so...whiskey?

"Yes," she replied to Toffee, before taking a sip of the liquor. "I...mmph!" Oh God. Her mouth and throat felt like they were burning, the drink leaving a horrible taste in her mouth that was worse than even the smell. Noembelu sat the glass on her lap fast, so she wouldn't drop it, her other hand flying to her mouth. How did people even drink this stuff?!

Realizing she left Toffee hanging, she opened her mouth to speak, but only a hoarse wheeze came out. She signaled for a moment with her index finger before her hand went to her chest, as she tried to swallow the taste away. That could've gone a lot better.

"I take it that this is your first time trying alcohol." Toffee stated flatly before stepping over to Noembelu and politely taking the glass away from her. He returned seconds later with a glass of water instead. Assuming Noembelu accepted the drink, Toffee would pick up his drink once again and continue once she regained her composure.

"Now... you were saying?"

"If I've learned anything in my travels, it's that wisdom goes far beyond knowledge"
How could it not be true? A world with some many conflicting ideologies and beliefs: the Assassins, the Templars, the Royalists, the Nationalists, the San-Coullets, the Jacobins, the Conservatives, the Grindorins, the list went on. Each group claimed to know what was best for other- best for the world. Despite their supposed wisdom, their pride hid from them the cracks in their own beliefs and methods. All the experience in the world couldn't make up for such ignorance and pride. And ignorance and pride were never a strong combination...

"You may call me Toffee. And no, I'm not from earth, but rather, the dimension of Mewni. Us monsters are native to that land." Toffee commented dryly in anal attempt to answer the man's question. With the situation handled for now, the Septarian would simple turn around and leave. "I'd ask for your name, though I doubt this is the last time we'll be speaking." Toffee said before finally making his way back to the group, just in time to hear the rest of the conversation.

Toffee would remain silent as he listened to more people explain how they had met Wanda and such, only nodding his head and humming along with their words. That is, until Zenyatta happened to make himself known. "Ah yes, another voice of reason. There aren't many these days, I'm afraid." Toffee commented before offering to shake the robot's hand. "Toffee, native monster of Mewni. And you are...?"

Kyoko reticently nodded to Zenyatta's words, and did little more than that. Indeed, there was truth in the monk's words. Traveling had always been a catharsis for many people to take their minds off things, but Kyoko was not offered that luxury. Not that she minded terribly too much. For better or for worse, she was, for all intents and purposes, something of a workaholic, so it fit that she managed such an organization as the one she did. And as for said tragedy, indeed, there was little more Kyoko could pick up from Zenyatta other than his subtle tone change and other behavioral patterns, leading her to little more than conjecture, but it was what it was.

She would have been more uncomfortable if she had such a concept in her mind.

kiri006.png

Brushing aside some stray hair shortly after, she turned to face Beatrice next. "Yes, I suppose you could say that. It's as the captain says, she may have been seeking some solace away from work... without consulting me first," Kyoko spoke, a hint of mild apprehension in her tone, but little that betrayed her stone-cold demeanor, keeping her relationship with Wanda continuously vague. Frankly, there was no need to bring up the Coalition in the young woman's eyes, concerning it wasn't like there was any sort of crisis going on... yet, but it couldn't be helped. Still, it wouldn't hurt to just brush past that, would it?

"It's not important," Kyoko bluntly said to everyone inquiring about the Coalition, "They're just... one could say, a private organization tasked with protecting the lives and rights of all," she described, consistently vague as ever, "I don't think it's something to talk about in-depth at the moment. Wouldn't you agree, captain?"

"The mind is no different from the body or the soul, Kyoko. It bends, but it can only bend so much before it may break."

"I can see through the eyes of Wanda for a moment, and understand why she may have left on a journey to find herself."

". . .Perhaps, you should ponder following those steps yourself, Kyoko."

Zenyatta tilted his head on the last statement, appealing to Kyoko's own humanity. She must work as much as Wanda does, maybe even more-- she could go on a journey herself. Stress is a subtle killer, and it teaches us a lesson about self-preserverence, and pulls us closer to free such burdens from our backs. Zenyatta came to this party for that very reason -- to find closure, and free the burden on his spirit. Only then, can he return to guiding the lost and the weary through the path of the Iris.

. . .Though, maybe he's doing just that already.

Zenyatta's gaze follow Noembelu as she abruptly left the conversation to find solitude. Finding that in the party is strange, but not unreasonable in the slightest. Though, a figure followed her-- a tall, slim soul taking on the appearance of a reptile in a suit. Zenyatta heard his greeting from before, but didn't get the chance to greet him before he had left off. Unlike before, Zenyatta did not have the motivation to chase after those who leave his sight.

It is for the sake of others, of course.

But that being-- Zenyatta could see a vacuous hole in his eyes. It is not a bruised apple that this man has, but. . .there is no apple at all. No apple to feed the hungry, just an emptiness that would leave the others starving, weak. . .and desperate. It is unfortunate, but it is something to observe from afar.

Something to. . .stop, before it brings the most terrible famine; a famine of the soul.

2a169454866e5194ba0428cd08283226.png

". . .Yes, Arno," Zenyatta mused to his new, hooded acquaintance. A family man, no doubt. "I sense you are one who deals in death-- it's either the way you carry your form. . .or, maybe it is just the hood."

"I would urge you to deal in something more pleasant-- like, flowers. Or, perhaps puppies. But, I should tell you to be cautious, my friend."

"Death is. . .whimsical. It's a guest at every party."

Tommy was hoping he would have gotten the armored guy's attention, and yet he was still keeping his distance? Was he listening? He would have thought more on it if not for some new guy's arrival, who went ahead and broke the silence between them.

Tommy tried to focus on Leon's question, but couldn't figure if he'd met anyone by that name. "Mason Moretti? Er-- I don't--"

Of course, then the guy arrived anyway and Tommy suddenly felt like he was being intrusive here. "So, like, are you guys--" But Leon and his brother were already on their way to the bigger group, leaving Tommy with the decision to join them or not. Considering that Billy was hanging around that group and that Captain America put Tommy a bit ill at ease, he decided not to bother.

JbDexwb.png

"... So." Tommy turned to the two guys still nearby. "Mind telling me your names?"

@Mason Moretti @Leon Moretti @Seishin Ryuu @dark

Billy felt a little awkward suddenly, considering the fact that so many people from that incident with the Diver were reuniting. This sort of like a reunion that Wanda should have been here for, not her son. It was nice to see Captain America and Black Panther int he same place and all, but Billy figured he could meet with them later when things were less crowded.

Billy instead made his way over to his boyfriend, who was just finishing touching up the wounds of the girl who had come out of the bathroom. "Wow, those bandages don't look half bad," he said, half-mockingly.

"Yeah, well..." Clearing his throat, Teddy seemed satisfied with the job and handed Rant back his medical items. "I tried my best. Do you mind maybe talking to her a bit. Her name's Nancy. We should probably figure out what happened to her."

9vUR2BR.png

"Uhh..." Billy shrugged and moved to sit next to Nancy. "Hey, so, uh, my name's Billy. I'm sorry if something's gone wrong. Can you tell me how you got hurt?"

While Billy spoke to her, Teddy turned to the others nearby. "Do you guys want to check out the other nearby rooms with me?"

@ShiroKiyoshi @Krieg @Gands
Rant peeked an eye open when the man came back over to him with the leftover bandage roll and spray. He tucked them into his utility belt and sat up, another had joined them, Billy apparently and he was now talking to the girl. At this point Rant was feeling like using his appearance to scare the information out of her, but the many people around him, including himself, would not allow that to happen. He sat there staring at Teddy who suggested they go exploring and after one good look around the room Rant shrugged his shoulders and bit his lip before replying as he slid off the couch.

"I don't see no harm in it. Think they got some doughnuts in this place?" Rant said as he stretched.

The mouse was surprisingly calm after his nap, but it was something akin to being drugged almost. Almost. He smacked his lips together and stood up straight as he started to walk on, only stopping as he realized Teddy was waiting to see if any others accepted his offer.

Noembelu nodded at the remark as she downed the water quickly, already feeling relief as she did so. Her throat still burned, but it was lessened, for now. Taking a quick breath, she felt a bit more relaxed than before-but no way would she be drinking anything other than water for a while.

"Wanda has a friend back home, Honda. I was staying with him and met her once. He left a few days ago and I found an invitation for me." That distrust was back, ever so slightly. She would be very careful with what she told him. A rather nssty thought popped in her mind then-he hadn't tried to get her drunk to get information, did he? If so...she definitely needed to look out for him.

"He must have spoken quite fondly of you, seeing as you and Ms. Maximoff don't even know each other." Toffee commented, finding it strange that Wanda would invite someone she didn't even know personally to a gathering like this. After taking another sip out of his drink, Toffee would continue. "Though even you must admit that it's a tad bit odd that Ms. Maximoff would invite people she hasn't spoken to in years, and even people she doesn't know personally to this gathering. Then on top of that she doesn't even arrive on time."

"EEEEEE!"

Nono was pretty frightened as Mason crouched down to make eye contact. She began to sweat as she attempted to avoid eye contact as much as possible, evidenced by her darting her eyes about.

"How do you know Morikubo's Producer, and his sister? H- how do you know about Morikubo?"

Mason's eyes widened in surprise at Nono's sudden screech. He hurried to say something in an attempt to calm her.

"I'm good friends with Kido and Madoka. They've told me a lot about you, Morikubo," he said, bluffing just the tiniest bit. Sure, the producers bragged about their girls, but it wasn't as if Mason could remember much off the top of his head. "They say you're sweet, and shy, but you sing and dance really well!"

He, returning to truth, said, "Your Producer helped me out a lot when I was in trouble, so we became good friends. He thinks very highly of you. I trust him, and I think he trusts me. Do you trust me, Morikubo?"

"Neither Kido nor Madoka are here,"
Mason thought, "So I might be the closest she has to her producer here. Well, at least it seems that she has taken a shine to Kyoko."

"I don't know. Honda said Wanda is pretty eccentric." All those stories about her at Bright Falls confirmed that, but no way would she tell Toffee about any of it. "Like her son said. She means well." A pause. "...just may not show it the way most do."

"I can relate to that." Toffee said in response to Noembelu's last statement. Everything he did, believe it or not, had good intentions behind it. Toffee just... went about them the wrong way, so to speak. "I don't believe I caught your name?" Toffee finally asked.

Phil looked over at the other woman and took a deep breath as he looked at her. " It's nice to meet you, Saeko. I am not much of a leader, hard enough to get a small crew to follow you, let alone one of this mass and this size. I will be right back,"

He walked over to Nancy, Rant and Raven having felt it has been a while. " Is the girl doing okay?" He asked, slightly concerned. Phil looked over at Rant when the mouse thing mentioned doughnuts.

" I hope there are doughnuts. I eat a dozen of them daily...." Phil trailed off before adding on. But I don't know why .

He was silent for a moment before composing himself and turning on his charisma and smiling.

" So, Raven, how is she is faring?" he asked politely.

Roaming throughout the Maw, Six finally finds the Lady's quarters, searching around for any clues or ways that might help her escape. The room was dark and cold compared to the other locations of the Maw as she could see the fog that her breath produced. There were pieces of glass everywhere as all the mirrors in the room were shattered. It was an odd sight to Six as she did not know the Lady's purpose in destroying the mirrors as the woman was not as horrific in sight as the Guests. Using the flame of her lighter, she used the dimmed light to continue her search. Six would approach a strange statue that sat far away in the corner of the room. It strangely reminded her of the Lady sending a shiver throughout her body.

cIstYEI.png

Beneath the statue, the little girl noticed a note that seemed like an invitation of some sort. The note talked about a woman and introducing the woman's family. After she had finished reading the note, the little girl recalled a strange woman boarding the Maw who spoke to the Lady. She was a woman who did not appear like the rest of the Guests. While she hid from their sight, Six overheard their conversation as the woman introduced herself as Wanda. Before she was able to hear Wanda's purpose for visiting the Maw, a Guest had nearly caught the little girl which caused a loud commotion. She had to retreat back into the depths of the floors and pipes to hide from the Guests and the Lady. Looking at the invitation, it was written that the person accepting would be transported to another dimension. It could have been a way to escape. Six accepted the invitation even if it was not meant for her. This was her chance to finally leave and hope for a better life. It only took one blink for her to fall deep into the darkness.

The small girl just stood there in silent, watching the rest of the peculiar people gathered in the strange room. She was a bit confused as those around her were not giants but a reasonable size. Six understood that she was still small compared to them; however, none were disfigured or humongous in weight like the Guests that stayed in the Maw. She waited to see what would happen.

Amir listened to the conversation around her as best as she could, until a child had showed up, alone. Deciding that there was enough of a crowd over here, she went over to Six and got down to eye level, but made sure not to get into her personal space.

"Hello there." she greeted kindly. It was a bit strange to the woman, that this kid was by themselves, but there wasn't much one could really do about that.

Prologue
"Behind Closed Doors"

At a time indeterminate...

Blood dripped down on to the stairwell and loud footsteps slammed against the floor. A primal scream of anger rang out as Edmond Honda closed the door. He'd tried to put her to sleep by drugging her tea. It was supposed to work. But the girl...

Honda was bleeding out, badly. He could hear the witch coming. A door outside on the upper floor rattled and shook.

"Edmond! Come back here, you Judas!"

This was bad. This was really bad. Honda had feared for his life before, but never like this. Holding the doorknob tight, he ignored the blood seeping from the wound on his shoulder. How ironic that it was the old scar Jason Voorhees had left him, now open again.

His eyes darted around the room. There had to be something, anything, he could use. He couldn't hold this door much longer... huh? There! On the floor, glittering as if calling out to him, was a knife. It looked like a knife from the kitchen. Honda gulped. He really didn't want to... but Wanda needed help. If drugging her didn't work, he had no other choice.

Three... two... one... GO! Honda made a dive for the knife. Dumb move. "Gah!" He rolled onto his back, clutching his shoulder in pain, the wound pausing him long enough for Wanda to burst through the door. Her skin was sickly pale and her eyes held so much darkness.

Wanda... what happened to you?!

She was on him. She would kill him, if he wasn't careful. He loved his friend dearly, but he had seen her kill someone else before, someone dear to them, someone she'd never kill otherwise. "Wanda! Please! I just want to help-- AAAAUGH!!!!!"

Her hand dug into the wound, and he could only scream in agony. His senses were halted... but he couldn't afford that! His other hand felt the floor nearby, before landing on the knife. "I'm sorry..." he muttered, before stabbing Wanda in the arm, where he knew it wouldn't kill her. His goal was never to kill her, no; all Honda wanted to do was save her.

Reminded of his goal, Honda dropped the knife as he gained a surge of adrenaline, and grabbed Wanda by the arms, ignoring the pain in his shoulder. He could deal with that later. "Wanda! Listen to me! This is for your own GOOD!" On good, he threw her hard enough so that she went flying into the wall, before getting back onto his feet. "You need help, Wanda! Let me help you, damn it!!"

The wall collapsed as Wanda slammed into it. As the dust saddled, Wanda slowly stood up, a large wooden spike sticking out of her neck. She looked like she was staring into nothing as she pulled the wooden object from her body. It was so quiet now, a needle could drop. Now wielding the shrapnel, Wanda teleported in front of the sumo

"I need help? We offered you a gift! I offered you a family! I showed you kindness, and this is all I get? Betrayal!?"

Surprising the sumo, Wanda lifted him up with one arm and slammed him into the wall behind him. She aimed the shrapnel toward his neck and was ready to kill him when, suddenly, she stopped. As Wanda fell to her knees, Honda could see that the color of her skin and of her eyes had turned back to their normal hue.

"Oh god, Edmond. She's in me. I tried to help her, and now... she's all over me."

Wanda shivered as she spoke each word. She reached up to cry into the man's arm. After a moment, Wanda looked up at him.

"I'm scared, Edmond. I'm so scared. You need to leave right now, please. You need to leave me."

"Wanda..." Honda smiled at her. "No way! I don't care how powerful she is, I'm not letting her take you! I lost you once Wanda, and no way will I lose you again!" He extended a hand to help her get up. "We need to get you to the Coalition, fast. I can let Noey know once we're out of here, and she can tell the others what's going on and get them out, too. But we need to get you away from here now-- away from her."

"Honda. You've always been good to me, but don't you get it? It's too late."

Suddenly, Wanda grabbed the Sumo, tossing him to the ground with ease, She grabbed the wooden spike once again and stood over Honda.

"I warned you."

Without hesitation, Wanda stabbed Honda over and over. Blood soon covered her from head to toe.

At a time in the present...

The invitation was scarce on details, but two things were clear: Wanda Maximoff was inviting you to a gathering, and she had a family for you to meet. The magic that transported you only activated upon your agreement to go, not taking into account whatever your reasons you had for agreeing to heed this strange invitation. A bright light enveloped you, and for the briefest moment, you felt like someone was pulling you. Your whole world went white, and you kept being pulled and pulled until--

You found yourself inside a spacious room that stretched on long enough to almost be considered a corridor. It seemed to be a well-lit waiting room of sorts, with lots of comfortable seating. Various other halls and rooms connected to here, but there didn't seem to be any way to orient oneself. There was no door that seemed to be the entrance to the building and no visible window to the outside.

BLRTebJ.jpg

What was most clear was that you were not alone. Others were arriving via flashes of light, much like you had. There didn't appear to be anything obvious about them that connected them to each other.

One of the guests looks around at the others before letting out a heavy sigh. "I already don't like how this is looking," he said quietly. He looked boyish, about nineteen or twenty years old, as did the boy next to him.

vM6ymBe.png

"Billy? Ugh. Why am I stuck with you for everything nowadays?" he groaned, running a hand through his silver hair.

6CcqODk.png

The other boy crossed his arms. "I'm surprised you even came, Tommy."

"Yeah, well..." Tommy craned his head to take in the other guests. "When kind-of-sort-of-mom starts acting all weird, I figure I'm sort of obligated."

7vzrhdV.png

"..."

Meanwhile, another guest, Kyoko Kirigiri, leader of the private organization known as the Coalition in the wake of its civil war, stayed reticent, not engaging with anyone for the moment. Rather, she stuck to her own private thoughts, only taking the briefest moment to examine the others around, recognizing some, and having no idea on who others were. This whole situation was strange, yet admittedly fascinating. Despite her responsibilities as the leader, Kyoko managed to find a way to take time off to visit the place Wanda had invited to, mostly involving placing her "dear" old friend Byakuya Togami in charge in her absence, considering she didn't trust anyone else to handle the responsibility. Besides, Byakuya was literally born a progeny. Organization management was practically his specialty. Even then, however, Kyoko would have sooner suggested Makoto, but he had mysteriously come out of contact in recent days.

... Come to think of it, Wanda had also been difficult to contact lately. Her invitation had come out of the blue, and issued so casually, as though nothing wrong had ever happened. The statement about her "family" mystified Kyoko; the Scarlet Witch had always been somewhat private when it came to talking about her family in the brief time Kyoko had known her, but it seemed like a sore subject that did not need to be pried into, so the Ultimate Detective refrained.

So here she was now, attending the event more out of curiosity for what could be going on with Wanda than anything else. Maybe if she was lucky, she'd also meet Makoto there too, and ask him just what the heck was going on. Granted, communication between the two had become strained ever since the Coalition Civil War, but... It was just something the two of them were in the process of working through.

Near Kyoko was another woman, dressed to the nines. She looked around worriedly for a moment before taking a deep breath.

KgrnCFi.jpg

"Leader Kyoko..."

Her name was Josephine Montilyet and she had joined the Coalition after gaining her memories of a strange experience in a location known only as the Dark Place. She held no attachment to Wanda, but as an ambassador for the Coalition and her home world's Inquisition, Josephine figured it was about time she attended formal excursions such as these.

Sighing, Josephine sat down on one of the chairs and looked at the Coalition leader.

"Do you have a bad feeling about this? I must admit, this house, a lovely as it... it's, how do you say? Off."

After Josephine spoke, a blur rushed by her and toward the boys. A gust of air whirled by as he stopped.

44AWmkv.png

"My sister, your mother-- what foolishness has she gotten herself into now?"

Turning to the two women from the Coalition, he added, "hmph. What has she gotten all of us into?"

Tommy groaned. "Great, the kind-of-sort-of-uncle is here too. Family reunion?"

"... Yes. I feel the same way, Josephine," Kyoko said, putting a finger to her chin and giving a nod. So she wasn't the only one with suspicions. It didn't take a detective to know that there was something off about this whole situation, but Kyoko struggled to find a definite reason. Wanda had yet to show up, the lady herself being the most mysterious thing about this. Were she and Makoto in on something even the leader of the Coalition was out of the loop on? She didn't like it one bit.

She nodded towards Pietro, Wanda's brother, also known as Quicksilver. Indeed, it was like a classic, old dark house set-up, like the old film or the famous Agatha Christie novel. Everyone gathered to a mysterious home, wondering just what was going on. The only thing missing from the intrigue was... An extra, macabre detail that she wouldn't even entertain the thought of. There'd been too much of that in Kyoko's life already as it was. She could go another lifetime without any more of that of course.

"Your guess is as good as mine. Until we see Wanda, there's really no telling why she gathered us all here. I assume she didn't mean you, Billy, and Tommy when she asked to meet her... family."

Billy shook his head. "I don't think so. I assume you received an invitation?" Billy paused as Kyoko nodded her assent. "Right, well, mine said she wanted me to meet her family. I didn't really get it, so that's why I had to come. She can't possibly mean for all these people to meet me or Tommy..." He looked around at the others gathered, recognizing a few familiar faces. It was obvious what a few of them were doing here, but there had to be a connection between them all, right?

"Hey, uh..." Billy cleared his throat before raising his voice in hopes of getting the attention of everyone in the waiting room. "I have to ask, did everyone here receive an invitation? Or at least, know someone who did? You all must know the Scarlet Witch, right?"

The tall, red headed woman blinked her eyes open as she looked around, adjusting to her new surroundings. "Dick? Raven?" she called out. "Where am I? And where is Ms. Maximoff?" She saw she was not alone though, which meant she could maybe find answers sooner than later. Making sure to put on a smile, she began to walk towards some of the others.

The Titans and Dick will be alright Kori, just make sure to get back home to them~ She thought as she moved.

Raven Darkholme

"She seems better now. Perhaps the timing of the teleportation was bad in some way. "

Raven goes back and sits near the wall near Phil.

"It is quite amazing that she knew so many or touched their lives somehow"

"Tell me a little about yourself Phil.."

"Noembelu." She looked at him curiously. "And you're Toffee, right?"

"Indeed I am." Toffee stated, not sounding surprised that she knew his name in the slightest. She had probably overheard him introduce himself earlier. Deciding to continue the conversation, Toffee continued. "So, Noembelu, what do you do for a living?" Toffee asked with a small smile.

"I think we're all wondering the same thing." Toffee replied dryly in response to Starfire, who happened to be next to him and Noembelu when she freaked out.

Phil was silent, wondering if it had something to do with the glass all over the floor. He didn't say it a loud.

Phil stood, mostly because he didn't want to push the rat off the couch.

" Yes, it does seem Miss Wanda has affected a lot of them. As for me, I'm a weatherman. I work for channel 5 news as part of the segment Good Weather with Phil Connors. I met her at a bar and treated to her a drink.

Suddenly, Mason overheard another familiar voice. "Ah, Leon, I have a friend I'd like you to meet."

Mason squirmed his way out of his big brother's even tighter hug and walked over to Kyoko, regardless of if he had Leon in tow. He heard her dodging questions about the Coalition and heard the apprehension in her stone cold voice. He was familiar with a cold and professional Kyoko, but he still wished to hear a little more cheer.

For all that Mason knew, this was a party.

"Miss Kirigiri," Mason said in a cheery tone, "it's good to see you! Did you miss me? I'd like to you to meet my brother."

Here, Mason paused to give Leon a chance to introduce himself, before asking, "So, did you bring along anybody else from the Coalition, or is it Kirigiri, party of one?"

"Friends from work, Kyoko?" Nono asks in a meek manner.

Mason might recognise Nono from somewhere... but from where exactly?
As he made his way towards the group, he heard Mason talking to a woman and girl that looked around her teen-age years. "It's a pleasure to meet friends of Mason. My name is Leon." He says with a smile.

She must work as much as Wanda does, maybe even more -- she could go on a journey herself.

"Death is. . .whimsical. It's a guest at every party."

"Oh, Mr. Moretti. So you're here as well," Kyoko said, mildly surprised at Mason's appearance. Admittedly, it felt strange to have him so casually greet her after rather unceremoniously resigning just a relatively short amount of time ago, but either the boy was oblivious to such implications or had completely forgotten about the past, from what she can infer from what she knew of him at least. Of course, either way, perhaps it made little difference, considering how hush-hush the young woman realized she had been already, but again, it was simply her nature.

"Yes, I suppose you could say we're... work associates," the lavender woman responded to Nono, seeming to deliberately avoid using the other word, before turning back to Mason and Leon, "I imagine there might be another guest from the Coalition somewhere around here, knowing Wanda's connections, but I wouldn't know for sure; I came by myself."

"And it's nice to meet you too," she continued from there, but said little more, simply nodding to Leon as she maintained her curt streak, keeping a straight, neutral face all throughout the exchange.

"And I'll keep that in mind, Zenyatta. Thank you," she spoke. Perhaps the monk was right. She felt a familiarity with the tone Zenyatta had taken to her, reminded vaguely of how Genji had spoken to her when they had first met, initially at odds with each other. Kyoko was aware of what people thought of her, and how her mannerisms were always a polarized thing. Some found it an admirable trait, the ability to hide one's feelings well to everyone but themselves, while others found it worringly robotic, and that was coming from two men who were partly robotic themselves. But Kyoko simply fancied herself someone who was just able to separate professionalism from personal judgment, and even then, she found herself slipping with that lately.

The strange part was... She had to wonder if that also would cause debate on whether or not that was a good thing.

For now though, she had her mind on other things. Whether from intuition or impatience, she could feel Wanda's presence drawing closer any moment now. The witch always carried about her a certain aura, one that emanated from her being rather than any mystical power she conjured, and while clairvoyant Kyoko was not, it was simply something she came to be familiar with after spending her time working with her.

"In any case, I would hope that there is an exception to your analogy, Zenyatta. I came to this party to see how Wanda was doing, after all, and any... tomfoolery would be rather undue here. We're all civilized here, aren't we?"

"....................."

How did you answer that one? "Oh, y'know, I was a former assassin who wound up killing an all-powerful vampire, and now my shell-shocked ass is rehabilitating in Asia with a sumo wrestler who got impaled by a slasher-film zombie while playing a game of Ace Attorney with a two-tone stuffed bear!" Yeah. THAT would go over well. But she had to say something...

"...nothing, really." That sounded bad too. "I'm...helping restore my tribe." That was true-though she omitted the part of being unable to do so for a while. "And you?"

Donuts seemed an oddly specific desire right about now, but hey, Teddy could have gone for some donuts. He turned to Phil who was checking up on Nancy's condition and gave the man a shrug. "Good for now, I think. Billy's keeping her company, but you could try talking to her as well if want. I was just thinking of checking out the other rooms..."

But Phil and the woman apparently named Raven started to converse, which signaled to Teddy it was just going to be himself and Rant for now. He nodded toward one of the doors connecting from the waiting room and headed there intently. When he tried to turn the knob, he found it locked.
