The RP Where Resolute Bonds and Divides Will Shake The World...
Hisakawa Koukou - The Fourth

Intro Theme:

Hisakawa Koukou: HaRD ReSET is a Japanese High School RP set in a future where the characters are embedded with special chips that effectively make them their own smartphones/computers. (Though smartphones and computers remain commonplace for most other people). The RP is all about interactions and conflicts that arise between the players' characters in the RP. Sometimes, they happen naturally, and sometimes they are triggered by the GM randomly. In this RP, it is hoped that your characters can bond, clash, and grow together as they face the daily happenings in school.
Though the world of Hisakawa is Based off the world as it was in it's previous incarnation, the actions of certain individuals created this break-off universe. The price was that this world is not as peaceful or safeguarded as the other one...

" It Hurt to Care So I Stopped Altogether "
Story
The Mid-Twentieth Century will no doubt be remembered for how Virtual Reality Changed became an integral part of the world. This Virtual Reality is a far cry from the comedic bulky and expensive equipment that people needed 30 years ago. Now, Virtual Reality can be completely immersive. Allowing people to see, touch, feel, and experience a whole entire new world from in front of their computer. Equipment that allowed for this 'Full Immersion' is now about as easy to acquire as a Television. Once the technology to miniaturize this equipment is perfected, then maybe the smartphone and tablet will go the way of the television, and become antiquated.
In truth, the technology to allow for this already exists. By surgically implanting a special chip into a person's spine, they can experience completely immersive virtual reality without so much as lifting a finger. Practically controlling a whole computer with their mind. However, there were many ethical and security concerns that came with this. Which made it even more surprising when the Japanese Government Mandated that all newborns be implanted with this new device. This law was repealed a mere three years after it went into effect.
This RP follows the story of people from this generation. Their Chips give them a definite edge over other people - being able to send mail, play a game, or browse the internet is second nature to them. However, the security issues of the chips were never truly resolved. At the time, it was thought that the complexity of the chips, and an emergency security patch was enough to keep these children protected until the chips were removed.
For the students at Hisakawa High School, the aforementioned backstory is superfluous details. No one is smart enough to hack into those chips, nor are they cruel enough to take advantage of them, right? The biggest issues for these students lie in the many rudimentary problems that arise between themselves and the people around them. Little do they know, that the bonds and divides that they form in this short time will shake the foundations of their world.
How to Join:
Like with the original RP, joining Hisakwa Koukou can be summed up in 4 straightforward steps. Just note that you will have to make at least 1 post before actually posting your character sheet. This is due to you needing to get your 'randomly generated' character relations and grade stats.
In Both Cases You will need to have your character sheet accepted by me before taking part in the In Character thread.
New Characters
Post Your Intention to Join in the Sign Up Thread by asking me for relationships rolls, and posting the basic information about your character. Please include:
Name: (Last Name, First Name Please)
Age: ( # ) (High School Age, 15-17)
Gender: (M/F/?) (Actual Physical Gender)
Romantic Rolls: ( # ) (Denotes number of potential romantic relationships - can be 0, 1, or 1+)
Hetero Romance (Y/N): (Indicates interest in having a Hetero (Ex. Guy and Girl) Romance. You can have your character. You can be both Hetero and Homosex at the same time, or either.)
Homosexual Romance (Y/N): (Indicates interest in having a homosexual (Ex. Girl and Girl) romance. You can be both Hetero and Homosex at the same time, or either.)
Trope Relationships: (Y/N) (Usually, most relationships are simple and mutual, like 'Friends'. Saying yes to this allows for other relationships that may not be so mutual, but can lead to interesting outcomes. For example, Master/Servant allows for someone to be a maid/butler and the like, possibly. Again, remember this is completely random, and the pool these are drawn from are kept secret!)
- Once your character's relationships are given, fill out the Character Sheet below! Remember: Relationships Rolls are required for your character sheet, and the above submission is needed for me to be able to roll for your character!
- Go straight to the character creation section, and fill it out! Once completed, post it in the Sign Up/OOC thread. Please do NOT POST IN THE IC until it has been approved.
- Finally, please consider EDITING your draft post rather than posting multiple progressively completed copies. Just wanted to put that out there.
PLEASE Follow the same procedures as above.Your 'Family' Statuses and some important relationships may be kept intact, but otherwise, things shall get re-rolled.
In this world,. the relationships you had with people whom have 'departed' still exist. It's simply that in this world, due to various circumstances, those people are no longer regularly involved in your life. You may refer to them in your bio or descriptions, or even in the story, but DO NOT put them in your current relationships.
Character Sheet
Once you have decided to join, and have posted your initial post in the sign up thread. Fill out this humble character sheet. Write a character that contributes to the setting in the world, and do try to write one you'll find fun to play as. Also, be sure to look over the Rules and Guidelines, after the Character Sheet. This is important!
[fieldbox= Character Sheet, white, solid]
[Core Information Section]
(INFO: This is the basics of your character as a... character. Be sure to think hard about the kind of person they are!)
[Insert your character's favorite quote here]
[Real (anime) appearance of your character here, try downsizing really large pictures!]
Character Color Code: (INFO: A unique color number associated with your character. This is primarily so your character's dialogue can be highlighted with this color in posts. You can look up a color number in the rich text editor by opening the drop-down menu of 'text color' by 'font size,' and then pressing the word 'Custom...'. Please ensure the color will not make your text unreadable for at least the default black background. This will be readily be made available in the cast list section for players to quickly look up. Note that if a character is listed as 'inactive/dropped' you are allowed to take that character's color for your new character.)
Full Name: (Last Name, First Name Format)
Age: (Students - 15 to 18, students will be second years by default)
Date of Birth: (Day, Month)
Sex: (Physical, biological gender)
Most Relevent Sin: (Your character's most relevant fault. This helps GM's figure out how to make conflicts for you.)
Most Relevant Virtue: (Your character's most relevant virtue. This helps GM's figure out how not to completely screw you over)
Most Relevant Ideology: (Anarchy, Order, Control - The choice made here decides Which GM character may potentially have a history with you, and ultimately, the one you might have to someday save.)
Likes: (Things that your character find themselves gravitating towards when it they see or hear of it)

Hobbies: (Things Your Character Does in their Spare Time. Things that you can expect them to want to talk about if the topic is brought up.)
Fears: (Nothing is still not a valid fear.)
Reputation:
(INFO: Your Character's Reputation is a description of how an average student would see your character as. Do consider trying to cover how they act around friends, enemies, and strangers for your own reference and for the reference of other participants. Peculiar things that people see this character do, or things they usually carry around can be mentioned here.)
Self Introduction:
(INFO: A self introduction in the character's words where they recall what they feel is the most important event to ever happen in their life. Something that defined who they are. Have fun with this, because it is from this 'monologue' that the baseline of who your character is as a person is drawn from. It is also an important thing for other players to gauge how they could act around you in general, especially people who are supposed be close to your character.)
Character Theme: (INFO: What is playing in the background when you're character is introducing themselves/When the scene is focused on them? This will be linked in the cast list.)
Character Battle Theme: (!Optional) (INFO: What is playing when you're writing your post, attacking or responding to an attack from this character? This will be linked in the cast list.)
Character Voice Actor: (!Optional) (INFO: Have a voice actor that is exactly what you want everyone to think your character sounds like? List them here! If you can find a video of that voice on youtube or something, EVEN BETTER!)
[Virtu-Ava Section]
(INFO: This section contains details about your character's Virtual Avatar used in the school. Such as the character's, appearance, and their library of techniques and skills for use in battle.)
[Virtu-Ava (anime) Appearance of Character Here]
(INFO: The appearance of your Virtu-Ava. The image of the Virtu-Ava is superimposed over your own when you invoke it on school grounds, or other locations that have the infrastructure to support Virtu-Ava Battles. You have the option of not having anything for this one, if the character is always in their normal appearance.)
Weapon:
(INFO: The weapon your Virtu-Ava carries in combat. Lots of students like to write long and detailed weapon biographies for this. Probably from their creative adventure stories. The default weapon is one's hands. You can also add in an image of it if you find one.)
[Battle Actions]
(INFO: These 'battle actions' are the skills or techniques that your character use in battle that they may or may not yell the attack name of whenever they use it. But at the end of the day, no matter how flashy they look, they will still be beaten by the default karate chop if the RNG favors their opponent.
Your character has a total of Six 'Skill Slots'. In these skill slots, you explain a type of action that the character performs that explicitly attacks a single opponent. Each of these attacks can fall into three categories: GUARD, HEAVY, and FAST. This is done so that they can directly translate to ROCK, PAPER, and SCISSORS for the purposes of deciding who the winner is. Though this is explained in detail later, in general:
GUARD beats FAST
FAST beats HEAVY
HEAVY beats GUARD
Again, the default attack is a karate chop.)
Skill 1:
[Skill Name]
TYPE: (Fast, Heavy, or Guard)
DESCRIPTION:
Skill 2:
[Skill Name]
TYPE: (Fast, Heavy, or Guard)
DESCRIPTION:
And so on, for a REQUIRED Minimum of 3.
[Relationships Section]
(INFO: Relationships describe how your character is associated with the other characters in the RP. In this RP, all of your relationships are randomly generated, this time through the GM handling your character submission rather than the Iwaku Dice Roll. It is up to you to detail the details of each relationship given to you. It's encouraged that you try doing it by having your character explain it through their own words.)

Rules and Guidelines
A Fabulous Guide on how to make RPing in Hisakawa a breeze!
- General Rules
-
General Rules
Here are some simple rules and requirements
1. No godmodding, bunnying, metagaming and so forth
2. No playing another person's character without their permission or forcing another rper into allowing you to play their character
3. Make well-balanced and believable character aka no Mary Sues or Gary Stues
4. These types of RPs can become quite chaotic. If you notice that your conversation IC has begun to take up a considerable amount of space, please consider doing these things:
- slowing down
- taking the conversation to PM and posting it in bulk
- waiting for the posts of 2 characters who are not in that conversation before posting to that conversation.
5. So that it is easier for people to find posts relevant to them, please tag that person at the end of every IC post in which one of their characters is part of the conversation or is otherwise involved in the post. (Like this: @Ehb )
6. Be respectful of all characters - if you have an issue with a character's sexuality, hobbies or anything else, feel free to leave. This does not apply to characters though, provided it is within that character's nature to be intolerant of those things.
7. Be respectful of everyone - no fighting or insulting in the OOC thread. If you must do this, take it to PM. Do not take out your frustration on that person's character either, or you will get a stern telling off.
8. Things of a nature beyond that of PG-13 should be RP'd within PM only. This must still comply with iwaku's rules on libertine. This is NOT saying that doing Libertine with an underaged/overaged user is OK.
9. Now, to prove that you have read the rules (yeah, sorry, I just had to include this). In the relationship section, add an entry at the top for a character called 'The World'. In your character's words, describe the relation, using a derivative of 'I Accept My Life being Ruled by the RNG'. My own character sheet won't have it, but I'll write it here. It would look like:
The World
"My Life is Undeniably Governed by the RNG."
If I see people who just copy paste this relation word for word, then I'll tell them to read over the rules again to get their character accepted.
10. Follow the Suggested Posting Format when Posting In Character. See: Suggested Posting Format.
- Accept the RNG to Your Life!
-
I Accept the RNG - Conflict Driven Changing Character Intentions Known as 'Incidents'
For much of the story, the conflict is driven mostly by the relations between characters being challenged. Outside of the main narrative 'incidents' occur between the other parts of the cast. Potentially gaining more focused if the participants are invested enough!
Players who actively participate in the RP will find that conflicts will arise between them, challenging the established relationships that they currently hold. The name of the game in incidents is the 'changing of a character's intentions'. An intention change can be good, like two broken friend characters wanting to make up. Alternatively, it might be bad, such as two lover characters getting into a quarrel.
Yes, this does mean that I do basically point at your characters and say 'do something interesting' like some sort of director. Again do try to think of it as a challenge of me pushing you into a potentially unexplored and maybe uncomfortably conflictiouous(?) position. You may be a bad guy, or you may be a victim. It's all up to how the incident is handled.
When an incident is declared, I just make a post announcing a new 'chapter'. It gives two characters and their related incident. The story will immediately jump to 'after the fact' that the incident has happened, with exposition explaining what had happened in away that details can be filled in later by the incident characters if they wish. So, in a nutshell, the 'conflict introduction' is already put out of the way, and the characters are already in the middle of either making initial reactions or finding away to resolve it.
Once the 'incident' begins in the character threads. Everyone will have a certain amount of time to complete it. (Typically done by page counts). This generally gives you all an idea of whether to hurry up or take things more easily. Once the limit is passed, the incident ends, and relationships may end up being re-evaluated once it's over. As a general rule, the only relationships that change are those between the incident characters. This is done so we don't have too many 'tweests' happening all at once. Alternatively, incidents may be put on hold and revisited later if people disappear.
There's also a pool of various incidents that I keep mentally. Though you can also suggest incidents for your characters in the OOC thread. Also note, that your same-sex preferences will also be respected for situation where your character develops a crush on another character (A valid kind of incident).
Please not that in order for this to work it does require the participants to be pretty driven! Play it and it'll play out! In other words, don't be afraid to be involved in the story even if you fee like you're throwing yourself in there!
- Communication and Absences
-
Communication is Important! - Please Keep the Discussions / Chatting in the Conversation Thread!
Please reserve the In Character thread for:
- Roleplaying in Character
- Character Sheets
- Sign Up Posts (such as the Character Roll Post)
- General Questions About Signups or the RP In General
- General Plot Discussion
- Everything Else.
- Don't Post Malware/Evil Hyperlinks.
- Keep General Chatting, re-posting, shenanigans in the #general_general channel.
- Don't go posting the link to the chat anywhere or invite anyone, as this really is just upgrading our OOC thread for people who've already been accepted.
- Please keep any drama or rage induced fits in the confines of personal messages. Because...
- If your conduct is regarded as Toxic you will get Banned from the Discord all the way too being Kicked out of the RP in the worst case scenario.
- Just enjoy the fact you can freely chat and discuss the RP in a semi-organized manner.
- Finally, it's worth nothing that joining the discord is NOT mandatory, but will in all likelihood get faster responses to questions and updates on what's happening. As the intention is to have the Iwaku OOC be dedicated to people trying to join.
If you have questions about the RP but don't want to 'commit' yet. you have may send me a personal message. Just make sure to include the RP's title in the message title, as well as be clear in what you want to ask me about in regards to the RP, and I'll be able to assist you to my fullest!
Announcing Absences
I do understand that everyone has IRL stuff, and it is indeed much more important than pretending to Japanese High Schoolers. However, please show me and the other RP's common courtesy when you know you're going to be gone.
'I'm Busy'
If you're going to be more inactive or gone for a while, consider letting us know about it beforehand. Saying when you're probably going to be back is also appreciated.
You can come back whenever you wish! Just announce it in the discussion!
'I Gotta Drop'
I am completely fine if you have to drop the RP. I am not okay if you drop, stop posting, and not say anything about it until I have to go sniffing you out myself.

-
Annoying Help Text 1 - Get Involved
Welcome to Hisakawa Koukou!
In this RP you play a high school student going through high school. At the start, it might be hard to find your place to fit in. Indeed, this probably is the hardest part! As a GM, it's my job to ensure there is a main narrative that is being driven forward. This Main Narrative typically involves a GM character, who is inherently important to the happenings of the world, whether they like it or not.
You can choose to get involved with the main narrative or try starting off things on your own side. If you come up with a coherent story that other players start latching onto, then it tends to magically somehow become a part of the main narrative for some magical reason! Which makes this RP great if you really start getting an idea rolling.
The point is, don't be afraid to post and get involved! There might be time when you're left hanging, or times when you're feeling like you're intruding, but don't think too hard about it. Just post and enjoy portraying your character.
That being said, do note that happy endings are not guaranteed.

Annoying Help Text 2 - Post Formatting, Again(?)
As mentioned in the Rules when you signed up, please remember to use the Suggested Posting Format. You may be surprised with what nonsense I'll let get away in the IC, but the one thing I'm a stickler about it the darn format!

[CHARACTER REPRESENTATION - This Image Cutout Is Used To Make it Easier to identify your character for people not too good with names. If you want to utilize a Larger Image, Please Put it in a Spoiler. I will make one for you once your character is accepted, but if you want to do it yourself, note that the Eye Cutouts I use are 150 x 50 Pixels.]
[DATE / LOCATION : Ex. [Monday, April 1st / Class 1-A] We use this so people won't get lost as to what day it is or when our characters]
[POST CONTENT - At Least a Paragraph Ideally]
@SOMEUSER
[When you type in @Username you tag another user who will probably get a notification about it. Use this to explicitly state who your character is interacting with when applicable]
[/fieldbox]
The Code to make the 'fancy boxes' is as follows:
Code:[fieldbox= CHARACTER NAME, COLOUR, solid] [Insert your Image or Spoilered Image Up Here Date-stamp and Location Goes Here Post Content Goes Here [USER=XXXXX]@USERNAME[/USER]. //Note that if you type @ and then a Valid Username, you should see a drop-down menu show up of applicable Iwaku Users. Annoying Help Text 3 - Underlining Important Bits and NPC's
In Hisakawa Koukou, underlining a section of text is used to denote particularly important parts of your post. Think of it as a way of telling people: "Please Have Your Response Mention/Comment on this thing!" Use it to let partners know an important part of your character's response, or something that other characters can latch onto to get into a conversation. Use it as a tool to help move scenes and stories forward!
Additionally, NPC Characters' dialogue is typically written in bold italic or regular italic.
Regular Italic is typically used for background characters making one off remarks,
whereas,
bold italic is used for npc characters who can be actively conversed with.
As a general rule, you're discouraged from employing NPCs, unless it's a particularly appropriate time for you to come up and control one for the sake of moving a scene forward. Use your good judgement!

-
Annoying Help Text 4 - Achievements
Just like how they can unintentionally spoil the story, achievements in Hisakawa help guide participants in how the plot is intended to go. They can be found in Current Story and Cast List Tab in the Sign Up Thread intro post.
Achievements aren't limited to the main story either, they also help track side-stories as well! Be sure to check it whenever an achievement is unlocked, as there's a chance new ones to achieve were added as well!
- Annoying Help Text 5 - Chaos Level
-
Annoying Help Text 5 - Chaos Level
Each GM Character has a potential fate that can affect multiple characters in the story. Since their fate is potentially tied to yours, it might be important to take care on how things progress for them as the story moves forward. This is made a bit easier for you to keep track of in their Chaos Level. Located at their character entry in the cast list.
Each GM character's chaos level is primarily affected by what happens in the IC. Without spoiling too much: making 'wrong' choices increases a character's chaos level, while making 'right' choices can lower it. A character possessing too high of a chaos level can trigger a Bad Ending which can end the RP.
The important choices that will greatly affect a character's chaos level are typically ones that touch on their primary theme. Be sure to reply carefully for important sounding scenes!
- Annoying Help Text 6 - Colored NPC's
-
Annoying Help Text 6 - Colored NPC's
Colored NPC's, such as Nozomi Yuri, represent very important characters in the world. People who were in the RP previously would know that they actually are GM characters as well. In this version of Hisakawa, they inhabit similar roles that they had in the Original RP. Making them somewhat of a driving force within the IC universe.
However, unlike Sagawa, they aren't quite active yet. Instead, they're performing their intended roles as people like Sagawa would see them. Even so, if the story manages to get far enough, these special NPCs start to come into play, having their own Chaos Level to worry about and story line to follow.
Unlike regular NPCs, Colored NPCs can't be controlled by other people. Though interactions with them here can affect how their relationship rolls resolve when they come into play. - Annoying Help Text 7 Introducing, Incidents!
-
Introducing, Incidents!
When a time-skip occurs, all sorts of things can happen. Sorts of things that can only resolved with in character interactions.
Enter Incidents! These help inform you what sort of juicy things have occurred while you were moving through time! People might've gotten into fights or awkward situations. In general, this further dictates how certain characters may interact with one another after a time skip.
Many different incidents are proposed to give players many different options to pursue. But ultimately, not all of them can be moved forward. Simply pick one that's the most interesting and try exploring it. Of course, you'll need the relevant players to post too in order to move it forward!
Incidents Are Recorded in the OOC intro Post for easy access.

- Hisakawa Koukousei
-
Hisakawa Koukousei
A Japanese High School located in the town of Hisakawa.
Notable for being one of the first schools to heavily use Virtual Reality equipment after an extensive remodeling. The upgrade pioneered the use of Virtual Reality in educational institutions in Japan. Now, five years after that remodel schools nationwide now employ similar systems.
- Social Morals
-
Social Morals
A program initiated to combat the NEET (Not Employed, Education, or Training) Phenomenon that plagued the country at the start of the century.
It employs students at all school levels to help themselves and their peers grow into happy and productive members of society. Various activities include community service, field trips to important places, and learning about why staying home for the rest of one's life playing games and browsing the internet is ill advised. 'Social Morals Officers' also serve as their respective class' representatives, though this isn't always the case.
- The ORG
-
The ORG
In Hisakawa, there is a secret organization that seeks to preserve the beauty of some of the student body for all eternity through photography. Keoni and Yuuki Kimura are heads of this elaborate operation.
It's an ongoing social morals goal as to stamp out this less than socially acceptable operation of taking candid photos of mostly female students.
Technology Topics:
- VR Chips
-
VR Chips
A special chip attached to the spines of individuals, which directly interfaces with their nervous system, allowing for a more immersive virtual reality.
Commonly known as Chips, for a short 2 years, the nation mandated that all newborns have this installed onto them after birth. On the grounds that it would give them an edge in a future now wholly revolving around the computer and internet - and also save on facilities costs for the education system. A Chip allows a student to browse the internet, type up papers, or practically anything else one could do with a computer through their mind. The VR Chip User from that generation can type out word documents at, on average - A Thousand Gross Words Per Minute.
Though - as always, an internet connection and phone signal is required for certain functions. Additionally, students can experience immersive Virtual Reality. Being able to touch and feel the environments rendered before them.
- Virtual Avatar Battles
-
Virtual Avatar Battles
An impressive game of rock-paper-scissors - popularly Shortened to 'Virtu-Ava Battles'..
When Virtual Reality hit the market several decades ago, developers quickly strove to make games that could let a player control and experience the game world through the eyes of their character on the computer. Nowadays, developers strive to bring that experience out into the real world. Naturally, this lead to people challenging each other in their fantastical virtual fantasy forms in the real world. 'Virtual Combat Sports' helped regulate what was initially a profoundly dangerous and outlawed application - though it didn't stop the general public - mainly over-imaginative teenagers, from engaging in virtual combat in their free time. Some Virtu-Ava 'Gangs' Exists around Hisakawa, Battling it out for top honors.
The battles themselves are quite simple. Character's abilities are called 'Skills'. Each skill falls into 3 categories, and the outcome of an encounter is decided based on which respective skills' category is. The three Categories are: Fast, Hard, and Guard. Where:
Fast Skills beat Hard Skills,
Hard Skills beat Guard Skills and,
Guard Skills beat Fast Skills
Though simulated pain is never inflicted - instead, damage felt through simulated fatigue. Ultimately, the game grinds down to whom is able to resist the simulated fatigue effects for long enough. For the purposes of this RP, the victor is typically decided after the first exchange of skills, unless Rule of Cool is Applied for particularly important fights.
- Bug
-
Bug
Describes when a computer program behaves in away that isn't expected or intended.
In the context of Hisakawa, these are lapses in the school's virtual reality systems that are to be weary of or that can be exploited. Student Sagawa Mizunohara apparently knows of some of these bugs, and actively looks for them.
One really well known bus is the Infamous Defeat Bug.
-
Defeat Bug
- When someone is defeated in a Virtual Avatar Battle, the loser's fatigue meter temporarily hits max, temporarily making moving their body incredibly difficult for a time. This is defect in the distributed 'Virtu-Ava Battle' Software that's readily available to the general public. The fest is only momentary. Enough to stop someone running away.
-
Defeat Bug
- Hackers
-
Hackers
An individual whom performs malicious things on the computer in ways beyond physical force.
Since the advent of the Internet, these highly skilled computer specialists have wrought all levels of havoc and destruction on those unfortunate enough to get targeted. In today's world most juvenile hackers use their skills to shut off Virtual Reality Render Equipment in the game shops in the city or Deface a Random Website Page. On the other end of the scale they can hack into the 'impenatrable' defenses of the VR Chip installed in some individuals. Potentially putting that person's life in danger, depending on what they do.
The Government says that such things are merely rumors - however...
- W-Lan Virtu-Ava Battles
-
W-LAN Virtu-Ava Battles
Some people enjoy Viru-Ava fighting to the point of making it a hobby.
Students in the area are too young too go into the professional and sanctioned leagues - but they do have the perfect tool to get as close to the real thing as possible - their own chips. Normally, a Virtu-Ava fight requires existing infrastructure to support the Illegal App. However, particularly dedicated kids found that having a fight was possible without such infrastructure if the participants directly connected with one another. Using a Wireless Local Area Network (W-LAN), children with chips were able to have their Virtu-Ava fights wherever they wanted to.
There are, of course, some security issues by doing this. Establishing a W-LAN connection with someone lets them look at your personal files. So be sure to tidy up beforehand!
- The Clans
-
The Clans
Roving bands of VIrtu-Ava Fighters in the Hisakawa Area are collectively known as The Clans.
These groups were formed all the way back when W-LAN battles started to pop up, and the groups have been fighting since then. In a nutshell, they're basically like one step below gangs - since, while they control and protect their territories, they aren't much of a threat unless they know you're from another Clan.
These groups Fight W-LAN battles with modified versions of the Virtu-Ava Battle App that simulates actual pain that the freeware app can't do. Of course, one would only have to worry about this if they willingly connected themselves to someone via W-LAN in the fist place.
Location Topics:
- The Ramen Shop
-
The Ramen Shop
The default go-to location for students with nothing better to do.
Weirdly popular despite the uninspired name. It's got pretty much everything a student might want when it comes to ramen, and a few other food items too.
- Amaterasu Shrine
-
Amaterasu Shrine
Located on top of a hill, the big annual Amaterasu Festival is a recently revived tradition, thanks in part to students at a local middle school.
Despite being built hundred of years ago, but still looks almost new as the inhabitants have taken such good care of it. It often has events around the holidays, but anyone can come whenever they want on weekdays too. It is dedicated to Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun and universe.
- Twilight Theatre Club
-
Twilight Theatre Club
The TTC is a meeting place for people with chips, located near the centre of the town.
In the past it was used as a theatre, so it's got a stage with equipment and spotlights. It has the infrastructure to support a more flexible shifting of virtu-ava avatars, for the kind of events that they hold and for individuals who may be insecure about their own bodies. Some of the events they hold include masquerades, plays, and broadcasts of matches from the Virtu-Ava Battle League.
It's generally a welcoming place with a warm atmosphere, but there is a shadier side to it since gambling does happen, and people can meet in secret without knowing who the other person is, as people can use avatar shifting to conceal their identities.
- Hachi-Ou Local Park
-
Hachi-Ou Local Park
The fenced off and weed infested remains of what was once a small park in the residential subdivision it takes it's name after.
Years ago a couple of middle school students were murdered there. The place has since then been called cursed, which ultimately lead to the park being fenced off and forgotten.
- Old Warehouse (Red Panda Base)
-
Old Warehouse
In the forest, not too far from Hisakawa Koukou, lies an old warehouse overgrown with vegetation.
The Red Panda clan has set up the infrastructure for an arena here. The arena is mainly for virtu-ava matches between students, and gambling, but it does come equipped with some co-op modes. The system automatically keeps track of the best times and high scores by the top participants.
After a rival gang attacked the school, and with the disappearance of the clan's leader, the location now stands vacant.
- Sakura Hotel
-
Sakura Hotel
A five story tall hotel by the ocean, owned by the Oshiro family.
It gets visitors all year round, but business is booming on the summers. The rest of the year it's almost quiet in comparison. It does have a restaurant open for everyone.
- Excalibur Arcade
-
Excalibur Arcade
One of the largest buildings in town. It's got excessive and crass neon signs all over on the outside, while the inside is a magical land of gaming.
There are tons of arcade machines with different games, from racing to dancing. It's quite possible every gaming console exists somewhere hidden within. Of course it's got VR!
The Arcade takes it's name after the owner's obsession with a particular fictional character from a cartoon, who uses Excalibur as their weapon. He has an impressive collection of every figurine and action figure made of that character.

"I Am Not Crazier Than You Are."
Incidents:
Are events that have occurred during timeskips or as a result if an IC event that's worth keeping track of. They can grow into full blown character achievements if it really catches on. Otherwise, use these to give yourself something to do!

Sagawa pulled Michio to the rooftop and made many suprising revelation. About Kokoro removing her chip, about her extreme dislike for the Yakuza. When Michio revealed that he himself was a candidate to lead them in the future, Sagawa ultimately cut off her ties with him, in spite of the years they had spent together.

Snowswept Advances
Winter in Hisakawa. The students at Hisakawa were given some special considerations for all of the messed up things going on at their school. Apparently having out of schools leisure activities planned such as free admissions to a local hot springs and other gatherings, meant to ease the tensions brought about last semester's events. However, some students still have to handle the fallout and consequences of what happened and move forward.
Nonetheless, Christmas is coming up. Who will you end up spending it with?

The Demon of Hisakawa
Nyoko's got a well-deserved reputation as a bully, yet it's been a few years now since she turned a new leaf. The Red Pandas was the first step on the road to redemption, and several of them look up to her today, but there are a number of rival clans which would seek to do them harm. Few have proven a serious threat so far. However, something's been stirring in the water during the last weeks. Someone's been trying to force a confrontation between the yakuza and The Red Pandas. Someone who will stop at nothing to get what they want.

Arc 1: (Ran: Oct 17, 2016 - Apr 30, 2017)
The Antisocial Delinquent of Hisakawa
Our Story Begins with an accident. Well, a series of accidents that disturb the day-to-day activities of the students trying to get through the day at Hisakawa. It is no secret that Hisakawa's Virtual Reality systems, once hailed as the most advanced and innovative in the world, are now buggy and occasionally break down. However, as of late, the 'bugs' in the system have been causing misfortune for people in the class. People running into walls is an occasional mishap if you walk down the hallways at the wrong time. But last week, several people were injured when they fell down stairs. People running into walls has become more commonplace outside of that cursed hallway. This, among other things, seems to be pointing to someone causing these glitches to happen to unsuspecting victims. Will someone in the class step up to put a stop to this before someone gets really hurt?

Master and Student
Out of the blue Yuri Nozomi spoke to Ayame Sayoto, imparting knowledge in regards to the Mikado heir selection process, as well as giving Sayoto advice on a personal level. Throughout the conversation Sayuri kept on getting the unsettling feeling that there was something missing - and that Yuri wasn't the complete stranger that she had originally thought she was. Is Yuri really just that good at reading people, or is there something else that had happened between them?
-
Chapter 1
- Breaking past the mask Yuri normally keeps up for everyone else, you were able to get Yuri to talk to Ayame like she did back at the park. Compelling her to speak in the interest of Ayame Sayoto's well being.
