The Cadets of ARMA's university are exceptional human beings, willing to dedicate their lives in the name of saftey and justice. And for that, Helios thanks you. The people of Halflight thank you. And I, SWORD von Wolfhauss thank you. This year's graduates will stabilize our city and turn the tide in the war. You will all find your future Branch as well as potential fieldpartners in the documents that will be delivered alongside your official promotion papers. Please note that you are required to keep your identification on you at all times unless specifically ordered otherwise by a superior. Cadets without the updated papers may be excluded from the facilities.

The texture of the paper was fuzzy, making the already gratiously decorated letter seem even more important. The dormitories of ARMA University were filled to the brim, yet quieter than during any other day of the year. Hundreds of recruits received the final judgement, the approval or rejection that would shape their future. Those with the unfortunate news of being deemed unfit to serve under ARMA's banner would spend the last week of their residence on campus quietly lamenting. But you, and those like you, for them, no time would be wasted.

After today, at 17:00, two hours after lunch, careers will be started. Those who were accepted, alongside their friends and potential future partners, are to attend the armory, where they'd receive their starting equipment. And rather sooner than latter, their first missions would be announced. But exciting change does not occure soley on campus. Those who are legal adults, about 68% of ARMA University's attendees, are to leave the campus to make room for the new recruits. For many, it will be the first time living on their own, while others rent together. In any case, the new Agents's lifes entail many exciting changes, even before they will step face to face with the enemy.

Perhaps, however, you have not received your letter yet. Perhaps your education is still not finished quite yet. You, too, will attend the ceremony, and you best pay attention. The men and women honored tomorrow will be your future colleagues, perhaps even superiors.

No matter who you are, you'd be will advised not to run late tomorrow...

This roleplay emphasizes curiosity and teamwork. Your character will be associated with ARMA, be it a graduating Cadet, a novice Agent, an ally from outside ARMA, or whatever your mind can come up with that makes sense. The players have the freedom to investigate cases assigned to them, research Witches, find out more about the alternative history and state of the world, or simply fight some really cool enemies.

I will largely lead the group around and provide obstacles to overcome, and missions to fulfill, but there will be downtime in which you can mingle as much as you like. I heavily encourage people to put effort and thought into their characters and posts. Though this is very much a a "weeb roleplay" with those sweet animu physics, I'd like to provide a gritty, fun, long-term experience for all players.

To ensure a smooth and fun experience the following rules need to be accepted. Read the carefully for your own good, or I'll come and raid your fridge.

● Obviously, all Iwaku rules apply.
● To emphasize this: I will not tolerate people being a dickhead. All members are to be treated with respect. If you have different opinions, views, beliefs or whatever else, that's fine, just keep them to yourself if they're likely to upset people. We're all from different walks of life, but we'll be respectful and kind to each other.
● You are expected to make sure your character is involved. While I'll do my best to give everyone something to do, I do not want to constantly have to babysit that one edgelord who wants to hog the attention. ;P
● The usual etiquette applies: No godmodding, bunnying, arguing over rejection etc.
● If your character is rejected you have two additional chances to edit your sheet. Should three attempts fail to make the character acceptable, you may not apply anymore. Also make sure to tag WIP sheets as such, so I know when to read them/discuss them.

● This thread was tagged with "posting expectations: advanced". Please consider this before signing up. I do expect a certain amount of effort and quality. Nobody's gonna rip your head off for the occassional typos, but I expect a decent amount of length and acceptable grammar. In general, you should aim for somewhere three to eight proper paragraphs. Less usually doesn't give your fellow players enough to reply, while more can be a bit exhausting. Occassional posts that differ from that are, of course, completely okay.

REGALIA: Each Agent is given a Regalia, a weapon specifically crafted to aid the Agent in killing or subdueing Witches. Regalia's are custom-made for the Agents, and usually are designed to suit an Agent's psychological profile. Your weapon will be given to you during the Graduating Ceremony. A Regalia is forged with a Witch's blood and sometimes even organs or bones. It is largely believed that a weapon reenforced with Witch remains is able to resist other Witch's powers and kill them efficently. Regalia's are assigned a rating that considers brute force, weight, range, and the donating Witch's threat level. The highest rank a Regalia can acquire is S+, also called a Pure Regalia. The lowest rating is a D. D-rated Regalia's would contains the remains of a very weak Witch, offer poor range, is heavy and difficult to wield. D-rated Regalia's are often recalled over time, as more powerful Regalia's become available, but may prove efficent in exceptional hands.

APPEARANCE:
Arida von Wolfhauss is a tall woman, that combines history's long-lasting beauty standards of both sexes. With broad shoulders and a lean, well-trained body, she appears in physical peak condition, whereas her flawless skin and shapely curves have attracted hordes of admirers. Standing at almost six feet tall, she is a commanding presence, drawing attention naturally. This is further amplified by her blindingly white mane and piercing blue eyes. She is, almost without exception, seen in a stylized version of ARMA'S Sentinel uniform, donning a jacket cut off at around naval length, instead of the typical coat. Her outfit is also kept in white and grey, with red highlights, instead of the usual navy or black clothes of ARMA.


HISTORY:
Arida comes from a long line of nobility that immigrated from the Germanic Empire to Asia several centuries ago. The name von Wolfhauss is associated with diligence, quality, and pride in Helios. Not only was Wilhelm von Wolfhauss one of the most revered generals of the Japanese forces (and the lone foreign authority), but the von Wolfhauss bloodline contributed massively to maintaining order and quality of life after the collapse of Japan in 1962 through their corporation, Albia GmbH. As the sole living heir of the family, Arida is not only wealthy, but also shoulders the weight of having to properly represent the family on her own.

Most of her formative years and parts of her early adulthood were spent overseas, but she returned to attend her father's funeral, after which she promptly took over reigns in Albia GmbH, as well as the day-to-day operation of ARMA. As is custom for the von Wolfhauss, she was schooled in various martial arts throughout her entire life, and due to her external education, she was fully qualified to take a role as Sentinel after a mere four months. After a period of transition, a temporary substitute for her father returned to his position as Sentinel, with Arida formally becoming SWORD.

PERSONALITY:
Arida is a graceful, well-mannered, but assertive personality. She is admired by the Japanese, for both her beauty as well as her fierceness. In the war against the Witches, she is considered a central figure of humanity's success.

Arida's sense of justice is already the stuff of legends; though she punishes those who hurt the innocent with no pity at all, she is extremely emphatic and considerate of her underlings as well Helios's population. Despite her noble heritage, she is a warm, authentic personality, that doesn't shy away from interacting directly with her subordinates.

Though she is often described an ice-cold queen on the battlefield, she has a well-developed sense of humor, and allegedly likes dark jokes and dry wit.

REGALIA:
Arida's Regalia is the "White Light", an S-rated, lance-like weapon. With a rather wide body, and a dangerously sharp peak, the weapon is peculiar in its ability to transform the lower, thicker part of its "guard" into a wider shield. Trading range for defense, the weapon's multi-functionality is a force to be reckoned with a user as creative and skillful as Arida. It is said that White Light was forged from the remains of a Witch that lived in the 1300s, making it one of the world's oldest Regalia.

"The Pillar" Giovanna, Johann [♂] [38]

APPEARANCE:
Johann Giovanna is a tall man, with a well-defined frame. While not particularly muscular, Johann's body is steeled after decades of training, and embodies the male physique in every sense of the word. He has a sharp face, though his permanently sleepy expression undermines this. His shaggy, parted hair is of a straw blonde. Johann generally dresses in formal wear, prefering to be clad in either his uniform or three-part suits. He can often be seen wearing a bow-tie.

HISTORY:
The Giovanna family has long entertained close ties with the von Wolfhauss. A noble Swiss bloodline, they were long-time benefactors of Germanic, and later, Japanese endeavours. Though rarely involved in war or other violent conflict, the Giovanna contribute to scientific research as well as charitable causes all around the globe.

Johann himself lived the first half of his live in Switzerland, enjoying the finest education money could afford. Originally intending to follow his parents into the medical field, he eventually made the decision to aid the war against Witches. Controversially, Johann was one of the first influential figures in the Witching Crisis to speak out against mindless violence, advocating that, eventually, mankind and Witches would need to cease their bloodshed. These views garnered him a negative reputation in his homecountry.

Disheartened, he instead traveled to Helios, seeking an audience with Arida. Honoring their families relation, she offered him a position in the Anchor Branch, where Johann would contribute his medical expertise for several years. After examplatory service, he requested to be moved to active duty, where he gained national admiration for his efficency in the field and his humane killing methods. After several years out in the field, Johann has worked up his way to the status of Sentinel, and leads most of the day-to-day business concerning ARMA.

PERSONALITY:
Johann is a kind, quiet, and forgiving man. He is primarily concerned in improving the quality of life for all sentient beings. Highly aware of environmental damage, he also advocates for eco-friendly technology to replace more hazardous ones.

Serving as the central authority for most of ARMA's employees, he is very concerned with his subordinates well-being, and advises both bodily as well as mental health to be protected as well as possible. Many of ARMA's Agents seek out his advise, and admire him for his selfless attitude.

Though he engages in the Witching Crisis, he is an open opponent of killing innocent Witches, having presented many reforms to both Arida von Wolfhauss as well as the Japanese government that concern Witches without criminal activity. As a member of the Anchor Branch, he also contributed greatly to equipment that would allow Agents to capture and restrict Witches without inflicting severe harm.

REGALIA:
Johann has no personal REGALIA, instead using ever-changing available ones. Due to his exceptional skills in the field, he rarely, if ever, finds the need for an advanced weapon, needing the simple killing-blow effect to get the job done.

"Black Feather" Shinohara, Io [♂] [43]

APPEARANCE:
Io is a lean, highly trained man of average height. He has extremely sharp features, and always appears pristine. Not one to shy away from bold, authoritive fashion choices, he often appears a little sinister and overly stern, clad in black fur coats. His shiny mane and the perfectly styled facial hair further emphasize his perfectionist attitude. Io can't be caught looking shaggy--Ever. An array of tattoos cover most of his back, though the only instance in which they can be seen is during his time at the gym, or in the rare occassion a Witch gets the better of him and destroys his clothes.

HISTORY:
Io is a man of humble heritage. Originally fated to continue his father's line of working--fishing--he eventually became part of a small branch of the Yakuza. Spending his days as an errand boy at best, he was involved in a dangerous conflict with an upstart gang. Though the opposing gang members were quickly disposed of, having underestimated the untouchable underworld status of the Yakuza, Io was shot and an afterthought at most, too hurt to care for, too dangerous to bring to a hospital. Unwilling to die in a ditch, Io patched himself up and overcame a massive infection that almost cost him an arm.

Surviving on the streets, he lived in poverty, hiden from the eyes of his former gang mates as well as the authorities. Luckily, the Blackpowder crime spree completely occupied the Yakuza attention, allowing Io to return to a more "normal" life, working for an elderly lady renting out apartments. Slowly earning back a stable life, Io turned to try out for the Armed Forces, wishing to formally combat the evils of humanity. However, he could not deal with his superiors and was quickly discharged without honor.

Desperate, Io turned to ARMA, being accepted into the university at the ripe age of 28. Io was a difficult case, but proved his worth as he demonstrated his unrivaled toughness and an iron will. Though cautious, he was chosen to graduate. Originally a problematic member, Io turned his attitude around after a personal one on one with SWORD von Wolfhauss, whom he serves with absolute loyalty. Since that day, Io has been a flawless enforcer of justice, climbing to the rank of Warden, and leading many Agents, both new and old.

PERSONALITY:
Io is a reserved man, who never accepts anything but a 110%, but takes responsibilities for not only his own actions, but those of his subordinates as well. He is concerned with results and the well-being of ARMA only, putting it above all personal opinions.

He is a perfectionist, who can appear quite intimidating at times, due to his lack of tolerance towards anything but the best. Though he would never tolerate or instigate the harrassment of an Agent, Io is quickly dismissive of Agents he deems unfit for the job, and is especially hard on Cadets who don't live up to his own standards.

Morality and mercy play second fiddle to his absolute believe in Arida's word and the necessity of getting results.

REGALIA:
Io's REGALIA is the A-rated "Old Cross", a cross-shaped blunderbuss firing large projectiles. The projectiles can slow down individuals if they connect, courtesy of the Witch Donor's ability to control time.

  • APPEARANCE:
    Mara is a young man of average to lean proportions; in fact, only a bit of developed muscle-mass prevents him from hinging on being scrawny. He has long legs and narrow shoulders, giving him a rather frail, almost noble appearance, which is further highlighted by his light complexion. With large eyes, a relatively small nose, and fuller lips, he has soft, vaguely androgynous facial features, which are contrasted by his often grim expression and the occassional stubble.

    Two black dots are tattooed underneath his left eye, and he can often be seen wearing gauges in both of his ears. Mara keeps his hair trimmed very shortly on the sides and back of his head, whereas the top remains at a medium length. While he proudly shows off his uniform, a long, cream-colored coat with padded shoulders, with formal pants and dress shoes, he occassionally sports simple shirts as well as plain shorts when off-duty.

  • Mara was born the son of a Japanese mother and a Russian father. His mother, Umi Fukama, was a well-known war correspondent and journalist, though she appears to have devolved into quite an unfortunate state when Mara was young. Various newspapers in 1980 revealed that Umi had been institutionalised in a facility for the mentally unstable, where she either spent the past 16 years, or was released and stayed out of the public eye entirely. There is little information available about his father other than that he apparently neither stayed with Mara's mother nor played a part in his son's upbringing.

    While Mara himself is protective of his past, and dislikes being asked about it, there are old records and some news footage that reported his unfortunate past. After being left by her lover during pregnancy, Umi returned from Russia to Helios, where she gave birth to Mara. Motivated by her ex's wish to have a baby daughter, Umi raised Mara as a girl, believing that to be the key for Mara's father to return and build a family.

    As the years went on, Umi's mental state deteriorated, resulting in increasingly severe emotional and physical abuse. Mara, who completely accepted and adjusted to his role as a daughter, was ultimately freed from his mother's torment as a neighbor witnessed Umi publically tearing into "the young girl", and alerting child protective services. Umi was deemed mentally unfit to raise a child, and was forced into rehabilitation, while Mara himself was eventually taken in by a foster family, who let him develop how he wanted, and slowly undid the conditioning Mara's mother had begun.

    Enlisting at the ARMA headquarters at age 16, he was accepted and was an exemplary student. Deligent and mature, Mara passed his exams with ease, and graduated with flying colors, as well as unusually early, with only three years spent at the university. However, his time at the university was riddled with conflicts with fellow students, who gave Mara a hard time for his mannerisms and feminine appearance. Though psychological counsil was offered, Mara refused them each time, and never exhibited behavior that suggsted mandatory attendance was required; afterall, most of the issues were instigated by other students. Though Mara occassionally was punished for engaging in physical conflicts with another attendee, he was not deemed a problem-student, and still graduated with honors.

    After his graduation, he began his active field career as part of the Cross branch, while relocating his home close to the Tokyo District; a poverty-stricken but notably Witch-free area of Halflight City. He developed good relationships with most of the District's permanent residents, being a well-liked and respected member of his community. A notable moment in Mara's ARMA career was the "Streuner" Mission, an assassination mission targeting a group of roaming Witches that had terrorized Halflight for several months. The incident gained large media attention due to the unusually high amount of witnesses, all of whom described a variety of particularly grotesque Shifters. Mara was part of a group lead by several Wardens.

    The raid took place during the night of the 13th of October 1995, and, while successful in ending the gang's activity, resulted in the death of all but two members of Mara's squad. Mara himself and a young woman where the only survivors, with the latter suffering trauma severe enough to require her to be discharged (honorably) from ARMA. She has since spent her life in a mental institution. Mara himself escaped with a deep wound in his left arm and significant blood loss, but managed to survive and exterminate the remnants of the Witches present. For his achievement, Mara was offere a promotion to a Warden position; he declined on the grounds of not having been able to save his squad mates and superiors, and thus being undeserving of the position.


  • Mara is a highly driven Agent, eager to be the best possible version of himself. Some might call it obsessive, others call it diligent--In any case, Mara is highly devoted to his duties as an Agent of ARMA, and prepares thoroughly for every aspect his job may entail; be it his physical fitness that needs improving to be able to keep up, be it educating himself on a helpful topic, or even hone his social skills to calm the general public.

    Despite his sense of pride in his work, and his confidence on the job, he is overall a more passive personality, rarely pushing matters unless they directly hinder the progress of an assignment. He likes to avoid interpersonal conflicts if possible, and generally keeps himself out of affairs that don't concern him (and sometimes even out of those that do). After finding himself the victim of a group of on-campus bullies, he has developed a filter for such mockery, and now shrugs off most taunts and insults.

    Due to his upbringing, he sometimes displays behavior that many perceive as feminine, something he deeply despises in himself due to the ticks direct link to his biological parents. Most notably, he speaks in one of two extremes, either a cartoonish sing-sang that rivals that of 1920 depictions of the stereotypical housewife, or a monotone, depressed-sounding jabbering. He also occassionally refers to himself with feminine pronouns.

    Despite his proficency in the kitchen, he rarely ever feels the need to cook, and tends to live off of takeout food. He particularly likes pizza. Mara displays unusual enthusiasm when it comes to making music, being a gifted drummer--drumming being one of the few activties he seems to actively persue recreationally. He prefers punk and metal music over most genres, but is particularly fond of pop music.



  • REGALIA:
    "Red Heaven" // A

    Mara's Regalia is the A-rated "Red Heaven" - A long-range blade forged from a powerful Witch that haunted Helios's (then-Japan's) streets in the 1800s. Its guard is adorned with the fur of the donor's Odyr form, and is engraved with a flowing motion that trails along the blade. In fact, the blade appears as a swirl of ink and blood, with parts of the blade being opaque. It's sheath is decorated with crosses, while the grip itself is kept relatively plain, consisting of dark bandages being wrapped around it. A successful cut inflicted with Red Heaven's blade grants temporary manipulation of the victim's blood, and can have severe effects.

    TALENTS:
    ● Mental fortitude - Mara is highly adaptive, diligent, durable, and can cope with stress very well. He has shown extremely strong will and determination, and has overcome traumatizing events with minimal damage.
    ● Cooking - Mara is a natural cook, a skill he has shown as a child. He rarely cooks for himself, but has entertained neighbors before, all of which were surprised and delighted by his culinary prowess.
    ● Rhythm - Mara is enthusiastic when it comes to playing the drums, and generally has a good feeling for rhythm.
    ● Apathy - Though it isn't a skill per se, Mara has an ability to shut himself off, mentally, so as to not suffer from stress or other undesirable mental effects.

Graduating Cadet // Ji-U, Song [20]

Appearance:
Song is a girl of very petite magnitude, always being the smallest of her class, friends, and family. Her narrow yet prominent mocha eyes are always the first facial features strangers cling on, followed by her puffed out and usually pouty lips. Her small frame and notably young appearance puzzles the casual acquaintance, who often confuses her as a 15-17 year old girl, rather than the 21 year old woman she is. Despite her pale skin and small size deceiving the casual person, Song's natural beauty is one that catches the eye of many people usually those of the opposite sex and without exception to those of the same sex.

Song doesn't have many distinct features though, other than a birthmark under her right breast and a tattoo on her wrist of her father's name. She's often brandishes a low cut shirt under her pecan field jacket during her off days on campus. She would also wear jade high rise jeans with boots of the identical color, going up to the cuff of her knees. Though, after becoming a member of the graduating class of ARMA University, this will soon change with her new uniform set coming in.

Biography:

Song Ji-U, or as she would prefer to be called U (or you could write it as Yu), lived what was a normal life as a child. She was raised by a single father, Hoon Ji-U, in a household that would never come to shake hands with poverty. She grew up in the most wealthy of areas in Korea, where every towering home had a fresh lawn ,trimmed once every other week. The neighboring children and herself would hold play dates at the local park inside the gated community that was usually defended heavily by local authorities and every parent in the neighborhood were close friends with one another. Life was perfect.

Her childhood was the closest thing to a fantasy as one could imagine, she practically lived the life of a Disney princess. Her father was the CEO of a big company in the Southern portion of the peninsula so they would very rarely see one another, something she loathed and he knew it. But to make up for this when they were together, Hoon would take her out on a Daddy-Daughter shopping spree and buy her whatever she could get her little hands on. Taking her out for food, to the cinema, and once a musical performance that would make Yu determined to learn how to play an instrument.

She took flute lessons, finding beauty in the sweet lullaby performed by the artists that she witnessed that day, and as a little twelve year old girl she promised her father she would become the best flute player in all of Asia. Every time he came home from work, which wasn't very often, she would perform a private concert for him showing him what she had learn the week prior. He would always proudly clap, even if she made a mistake, causing Yu to always go red in the face and happily bow.

But her promise would never happen, as her life turned upside down two years later. Yu was a girl shielded away from all the evils of the world, but she was far from being dumb, she knew some people didn't have as much money as her. But she also didn't know that being homeless was a thing. The same rules applied to Witches, she would eavesdrop on her father discussing recent events where witches would assault some human settlement, but she believed that nothing of the sort could occur in her safe haven of a home. That would remain a fact to her at the age of fourteen, until that wretched night.

What would always be remembered as the "Seoul Massacre", a massive band of witches stormed through the city and killed as many humans as they could. Using their sinister powers to leave those who survived scarred and many dead in their path. One of those casualties was her father, Hoon Ji-U, who woke her up that night in a worried haste forcing her to hide in the closet. He ordered her to remain in the closet, and cautiously tip-toed out of the bedroom. She remained in that closet for hours until someone who wasn't her father peeked into the door way with a rifle at hand and flashlight in the other. It was one of those soldiers she would at times see, the ones with the word ARMA sketched onto his uniform.

Her uncontrollable sobbing revealed her position and after calmly reaching out for her, the soldier lead her outside to backup. The city streets were a mess, tainted by a murky red color that smelled vile. There were white rags placed on top of corpses, and she shut her eyes after quickly noticing a pair of legs sticking out wearing her father's exact pair of pajamas. From then on she would move in with her Father's sister, her aunt, Boro Shin. She was married to a Japanese man and together they had two children, one who was five years older than Yu and the other about the same age.

Before this time, Yu had only met her a handful of times, but at this point it didn't matter anymore. She was broken, no longer the same girl. She hated playing the flute, and she would slowly shut herself out from the world. Her aunt wasn't poor, but she didn't live quite like her father once did. There was a budget, money was limited, and times were hard on the family. Her cousin, Marako Shin slowly helped the girl open up again, teaching her the ways of the world. The "real world" as he would call it. He always gave her outlandish speeches how nothing in life is fair, and everything is earned.

Two years later, they both applied for ARMA University, but each for their own reason. For Marako it was to fight for what was right, of course, he always the "freedom fighter". The boy that fought the bully, even if he wasn't the target. But for her sake, she just wanted answers, and she wanted vengeance. While her cousin was accepted sooner than her, she spent one more year before her acceptance. The princess, had finally become the warrior.


Personality:
Yu is a shell of the girl that she once was, while she is slowly retaining her outgoing ways, she prefers to stick to herself. Never the one to introduce herself, she remains shyly in the background as others overshadow her with their strong personalities. She is a curious girl, and is usually caught watching strangers to analyze their quirks. The ability to analyze people helps her determine when someone's lying to her, making her a 'good negotiator', under testing results.

Of course, the past of seeing the bloody streets and knowing her father is dead at the hands of a witch is what enrages her deep down inside. Whenever a friend would ask why she was joining the fight against witches, she would answer with a simple, "To learn the truth" like her cousin would or, "To fight for humanity". But she is personally on a vendetta of her own. Her goal, to put it quite frankly, is kill every witch she comes to contact with. She'll be merciless in the revenge for her father, even willing to disobey orders to kill a witch if she could do so surreptitiously.

But of course, that event doesn't come with just a thirst revenge, it also drags along a serious case of PTSD. Yu was intensely scarred by situation, as a little girl she would wake up in the middle of night screaming, a mixture of sweat and urine besmirching the bed. Her aunt would have to come in and calm her down, kindly changing the bed sheets almost every night. Sometimes her Husband would have enough of the constant screeching at night, and they would argue over her sake, causing her to feel guilt. But the nightmares have improved over recent years, she no longer wakes up screaming, instead she'll wake up in a cold sweat gasping for air as though she's drowning.

Like most who go through such horrors, she grasped on to god. Before her father's death she wasn't very pious and that was because her father didn't believe in "such silly things". But after he was gone, she wanted answers, and she wanted to know if he was still out there somewhere watching over her. She found those answers with Catholicism, believing that if there is a god and he is real, he would forgive her father for his insolence of not believing and let him enter heaven. During any special events (soon missions) she's seen carrying around a crucifix tucked under her shirt (or uniform).

She has the bad habit of biting her nails when under bad situations, and she feels as though she could never truly lead a team. In fact, she is incapable of it, usually unable to make decision when it comes to anybody beyond herself. Her idealistic attitude towards events, plus the way she is so easily convinced exhibits how gullible she really is. Someone like that can not be seen leading a group of ARMA, and she hopes that the responsibility is never placed on her shoulders in the field of combat.



Her sheer desire to never be looked down upon carried her through the four years at ARMA University, where she would be counted out by everyone for both her background origin and physically inabilities. She was incapable of keeping up during the obstacle course, and at times lacked the ability to lift objects that others lifted without a problem. Her fortitude and will power made up for her physical ineptitude. When she would fall during sparring and the instructor would be ready to write her off, she would constantly rise back up onto her feet. Either fighting until she won or the sparring session was stopped (for her sake). But after undergoing an intense three years of training, she showed she was truly prepared in her fourth and final year. Still, she wasn't physically gifted so she couldn't do what the others did, but she was actually able to keep up.

"Razor Song" // B
Razor Song accommodates Yu in every way possible. Her small stature and low weight, her elegance in training while using long range weapons, it all leads up to this. Made with the spirit of a graceful witch who was said to lead a faction of shapers, there's a golden glowing aura on the bow's grip marked with the words "Razor Song". The bow appears to be one made of ordinary wood, but it's anything but. Nothing but a weapon of higher ranking can split the bow, and the accuracy shooting with the weapon is extraordinarily precise.

Talent:

  • Analytic - She notices the little things that most wouldn't.
  • Optimistic - Even during the darkest of times, she has hope that something good will happen (Thanks to her cousin Marako for helping her develop this optimism).
  • Musician - Can play the flute really, really, well.

She does appear to be very small, but don't underestimate her. While she is frail, and not overbearingly strong, she knows how to use her ability to her advantage in one on one combat. She uses her wits over her brawn, while also being healthy enough to pass her physical examinations. She prefers the range game though, either using a pistol or her trusty bow (her Regalia which would be given to her after the graduation ceremony).​

No one knows what lies underneath, save for some of ARMA's clinicians.

History:
Nikita Petrovich was born to a famous researcher by the name of Josef, the head of Petrovich laboratories. Her mother was killed by a witch when she was young, prompting her father to move their family to Moscow, feeling it would be safer. There, Josef began researching witches after seeking funding from ARMA, which eventually led to the founding of Petrovich Laboratories.

The researcher's efforts yielded many discoveries, and Nikita lived comfortably. Despite the fame her family name held, Nikita was never much one for socializing. Josef opted to have her home schooled, preferring that she remain at home with the ARMA soldiers their family had been afforded for their services.

Though he was not home often, what time they did share together was precious to Nikita. He taught her in the art of scientific observation. Personally, she took up mending as a hobby, enjoying the satisfaction that fixing something broken brought her.

It was on a fateful day when Josef decided to bring her along to work that her life changed forever. In the year of her 13th birthday, witches attacked the capital city of Moscow — in particular, the Petrovich Laboratories. While the ARMA forces stationed there were eventually able to stave off the attackers, Josef Petrovich was not among those lucky enough to survive.

Nikita, having been hidden, was rescued by ARMA forces and transferred to the headquarters. Once she turned 15, she decided to enlist as a cadet, wanting to prevent future attacks like those on her father's laboratory.

Her combined agility and mobility proved she belonged on a combat front, and her knowledge of her father's research showed her to be invaluable in intelligence fields as well.

Personality:
Nikita doesn't socialize easy, but she's not against it. She's just ill suited at catching on to social cues, thus leading attempts to converse with her to become rather awkward situations. Despite this awkwardness, she still tries her best to properly convey herself when socializing is necessary.

As a result of her upbringing, she does prefer more to be alone, studying her father's research in hopes of one day picking up where he left off. She's outspoken about her observations, but only where necessary.

She has a soft spot for people who seem to be distressed. Socially awkward as she is, she'll go out of her way to try to sympathize.

Regalia:
"Twin Reminder" / B
Taking the shape of an oversized pair of scissors, Nikita's Regalia, "Twin Reminder", is capable of cutting through anything known to man, its power based on an old worldly witch known for manipulating steel. Because of its size, its ill suited for combat in close quarters, but a threat not to be underestimated when combined with wide open spaces and Nikita's agility. Even with these factors considered, her Regalia leaves her better suited for the second line of offense, cleaning up whatever slips past the first line.

Talents:
Nikita is exceptional at mending. She also has keen observational skills, outside of socializing, of course. She's also very agile, which aids her greatly in combat.

Trivia:
Nikita keeps her hair short, for reasons she isn't keen on discussing. Also notable are the bandages wound around her left arm. She has partiality to music, finding it similar to mending in the way it brings things together.

APPEARANCE:
Miju is a male who always wears plain-looking clothing or school clothing. He seems to be a lithe woman underneath her clothing, but he is actually stronger then he looks. Not much stronger, but enough to let him pass by as a female. He has longer legs and he has delicate, porcelain skin. He has incredibly long hair and his spear is something he never leaves without. Even though it's not displayed in the pictures, he is born from a witch and a human. He wears a contact in one eye to keep himself from being discriminated against.


HISTORY:
Miju was born from a witch and a human. His father obviously had to be human and his mother a witch. His mother was a somewhat powerful witch, although she did not wreak havoc among the humans. It was not her belief that they were a significant threat to her because of her power as a Paracio. She birthed Miju in Hong Kong, as a means to try and avoid ARMA for but a moment, but she moved back to Helios once she had given birth to him. She raised her son until the age of 3 before she was hunted down and taken out for using her power on an ARMA officer. She believed that the ARMA officer was unaware they were being controlled, but they quickly took her out once Miju was out of the way.

Miju was lucky to get away from this incident because his father took him under his wing until things settled down. In order to keep ARMA from finding Miju, his father dressed Miju up as a little girl. After this, he grew up living a relatively normal life, despite the fact that the crossdressing habit stuck. There were other 'Null' kids at his school when he was young, but they faced so much discrimination that they didn't stay very long. Miju had always had problems with other kids because they also made problems when they found out about his mother. Miju toughed it out with these kids and never fought back against them. He loved his mother, but he realized the danger that Witches could pose on society.

Miju was only 16 when his school was attacked by a witch. This witch had the ability to manipulate physical matter. Miju quickly knew what was happening when the witch walked in the building. He looked like a normal man, but Miju could see the lack of emotion in his eyes and the glare of contacts over his actual eyes. Miju tried to protect some of his classmates while the witch attacked, but he managed to kill most of them. He was able to save three of his classmates from the Witch by hiding them inside of a broom closet while he ran into the nearest untouched classroom to call ARMA, if they had already not been informed of the incident. He could, at least, tell ARMA what type of manipulation they used as a Pantherra. He phoned ARMA and told them about the witch inside of the building, who happened to use Stone Manipulation inside of a concrete building. It was a disaster waiting to happen. Miju heard the steps of someone coming down the hall as he finished the flow of information to ARMA. They had told him that agents were already on their way and he was going to be okay. He dropped the phone onto the ground and quickly opened a cabinet that he knew he could fit inside. He slipped inside and quietly shut the door. As he finished closing the door, he heard the door to the classroom open. The man was breathing heavily and he seemed to be in a frenzy, sounding like a beast. Miju could hear the breathing come closer and closer, he could hear desks and chairs being thrown around. He closed his eyes and braced himself for the worst, but then... There was nothing. The witch had stopped breathing for but a moment. He let out a sigh, but then the witch opened the cabinet. The witch looked him in the eyes and it seemed that he was ready to kill him, when a loud crash of windows was heard and then the man was on the ground.

After this incident, Miju truly understood the threat that Witches posed to society. It wasn't a pretty sight to see all of your friends being murdered and it wasn't a pretty sight to see a man ready to kill you. Miju understood why Humanity hated Witches. If Miju had any hope of being accepted in society, then he was going to have to join ARMA. ARMA was the only thing that seemed to tie the two worlds of witches and humans. If it was the last thing he was going to do, he was going to join ARMA.


PERSONALITY:
Miju is a prideful, confident, determined, and somewhat flirtatious man.

Miju is prideful in the sense that he almost has a superiority complex over people of his same status. He also hates having his lineage insulted and he also hates being underestimated. In fact, when people underestimate him, it makes him wanna kick their ass even more than he probably already does. He is easily angered in this sense, but he tries to keep a cool, regal air surrounding him.

Miju is confident and isn't affected too much by what other people might say about him. He does everything he can with 100% conviction and he always believes he will be better than anyone else trying to accomplish the same task. He holds himself highly and believes he is extremely beautiful. He gets upset when people don't compliment him for a job well-done or when he is insulted in any way for the quality of the work he had done. He doesn't really work well with others because he believes that he can do everything himself. He strives to be the strongest, bravest, and the best as a member of ARMA.

Miju is also extremely determined. As stated before, he puts his all into everything he does. As such, this is what usually gives him the intensity that he has. He believes that he'll become weaker if he doesn't put his all into everything he does. This can be tiring for him toward the end of the day because he is such a high-energy person with everything he does.

Being a man dressed as a woman, he has a natural affinity toward disguise. Miju hates exploiting men for their belief that he's a woman, but he does find it amusing when they try to flirt with him. Miju really only flirts when he wants to make an impression on someone or when he wants to scare another person. His flirtation can be used in almost every situation, but he really hates using it to help out his mission. If he's going to succeed at something, he's going to do it with his prowess as a spear user.

Ashen Majesty - Rank C

Ashen Majesty is a Regalia that was made from a witch with the power of fire manipulation. She was a relatively harmless witch, but her power was known to be extraordinarily dangerous because the area she lived in was incredibly dry. Even though she didn't contain much power, she wouldn't need to put much effort in to destroy large portions of the community. This spear's edges grows in temperature the longer it is swung around. In order to make it reach temperatures hot enough to sear a target, it must be swung around for at least 20 seconds. Miju is known to be swinging this spear around quite a lot, in case anything unexpected may happen.

APPEARANCE: Takumi comes off as rather rough at first glance. With his above-average height and athletic, muscular physique paired with messy, naturally spiky hair he could easily pass for the typical school delinquents found in comics and manga. Thin, pointed eyebrows typically at an angle and slim lips positioned in a scowl or grin aid in this guise. As for apparel, Takumi doesn't really ever wear anything special and sometimes his clothing doesn't even match, obviously only chosen and thrown on as they were the first to be seen.

HISTORY: Takumi was born in the bustling urban city of Tokyo, or what would have been Tokyo prior to its desecration, son of two ARMA agents whom he unfortunately can't say he holds fond memories of. It isn't to say that the couple were poor parents, but simply that they fell in the line of duty while he was still very young. After their passings, Takumi was taken in by his father's parents. His grandfather was also an ARMA agent, albeit retired. An old-fashioned sort who couldn't go a minute without blaming a witch for something, though country-wide paranoia and aversion to the mystical beings was pretty much the status quo. His grandmother on the other hand was a simple housewife and the source of most of his nurturing.

From a young age, it seemed as though Takumi excelled only at two things, giving a beating and taking one. While not necessarily one to go looking for trouble, trouble always ended up finding him, whether through the aggressions of a bully or something else. What didn't help was that Takumi had always been too hard-headed to pick his battles, instead opting to butt his head into each one that presented itself to him. It was then that his grandfather began to teach him martial arts and CQC. It was the old man's hope that with training, Takumi could become disciplined and mature, or at the very least come home with a few less bruises.

Takumi bulked up and learned. While he could pass out in a classroom in under a minute, combat and fighting in general was something he not only had a knack for but an interest in. Though the complaint calls from his teachers never truly decreased. Still Takumi would tend to opt for a punch to end arguments and conflicts quickly rather than try to persuade or avoid them entirely. Even though as a person he wasn't a bad guy by any margin, his looks and violent tendencies pushed any would-be friends away, marking him as a loner for most his life. But while a loner, he wasn't exactly lonely. He still had family, people who stood by him.

As he grew older, spite against witches did as well. Takumi wasn't sure how bad it was anywhere else in the world, but the local newspaper had at least a quarter of its articles dedicated to the entities on a slow week. Unlike many others, Takumi didn't hold much spite for them. What they were capable of and the atrocities they committed had been drilled into his head plenty of times, but the boy tended to call things as he saw them. Sure his parents had supposedly been murdered by one, but it was hard to have an emotional attachment to the deaths of two people you don't even really remember. Until he actually encountered one himself and drew up his own opinion, he just didn't have enough hatred for them to constantly complain about them or consider joining ARMA to combat them. As fate would have it, an opportunity would come for him to find his own stance on the subject.

Heading home from school one day, Takumi would have the displeasure of encountering a witch face to face. Worst of all, the meeting was in his own home. Opening the door, Takumi was met with the sight of a beautiful, but pale woman with black sclera standing over the crumpled body of his grandfather and cowering form of his grandmother. He froze at the sight, but in a plight of desperation, broke free of his stun and charged the woman who quickly incapacitated him through the use of a black tendril-like sludge coiling around him from where her right arm should've been. The sludge tightened and constricted, as if the woman was taunting him or unsure of whether to finish him off or not. The woman stared at him until a bullet flew and tore into the tendril of the woman who seemed to grimace before her entire body turned to the same sludge-like material and rapidly glided across the floor and out the back of the house, likely seeking escape. It was a squad of ARMA agents who saved him and his family, while he, despite what strength he believed himself to have, could do nothing.

Those ARMA agents had apparently been tracking down a witch who had been blending in with the populous in the Kagawa Prefecture. Likely the woman had slipped into the house in a fit of desperation while on the run and incapacitated his grandfather when he tried to combat her. Still, while her actions could be understandable from a certain viewpoint and she didn't actually end up permanently hurting anyone, attacking his family wasn't something Takumi could so easily forgive. While unsure if all witches were truly evil or cruel, there was the grave fact that many were, and any normal person would be powerless to defend themselves. This reason was enough for Takumi to follow in his father's footsteps and apply to enter the academy. Now graduating, Takumi is determined to keep there from being any innocent casualties at the hands of ill-intending witches. He had lost his parents and almost his grandparents, he wouldn't lose anymore.

PERSONALITY:
Despite his violent tendencies and devil may care attitude, Takumi is a rather good guy to get to know and a loyal friend. While not happy go lucky or overly talkative, he certainly doesn't have any issue walking up to someone and striking up a conversation or inquiring about something. Due to his lack of friendships previously, he's more than motivated to gain some allies now. Unfortunately his lack of social interaction has made him slightly dense or awkward and disables him from recognizing social cues immediately. In many ways, he can be related to a dog; friendly and loyal, but you need to tell him exactly what you want.


Unfortunately, much like a dog, he needs to be watched or he'll likely get into trouble. Many see him as belligerent, as should any attempt to bully him, someone he sees as an ally or really anyone that doesn't appear to have the will to fight back, the situation is going to escalate. His blatant and outspoken way of speaking certainly doesn't help cool things down either. While he tends to justify these bouts as acting in the defense of himself or others, he can't deny that a part of him enjoys combat and can be seen grinning through fights that actually pose a challenge.

Void Breaker - C​
Void Breaker was crafted from an Odyr who was known for hunting other witches for the thrill of battle and victory. The witch would strengthen his body to physically crush his targets, his arms taking on an ebony coloring with a black mist enveloping him. Void breaker appears in the form of a pair of gloves, or gauntlets, seemingly plated and reinforced especially on the back of the hand and knuckles. Matching the witch it was formed from, a black mist envelopes the gloves when worn, though otherwise don't appear to be harmful to the wearer or others.

APPEARANCE: Leo has brown hair kept just on the far side of neat, and his light brown eyes are as frequently hidden behind glasses as not. For the most part, he trains without them. Though he needs them for the details, by and large, he can get by with general movement and sound. Besides, he figures there's a decent chance they'll get knocked off in the heat of battle, so he might as well train under that assumption. He stands tall enough, but the vibe he gives off leans away from intimidating. It's probably that smile that's always on his face. Given a chance to change into casual clothes, Leo is most likely found in a plain black or white tee and jeans.

HISTORY: The Tobin name was far from the first to join the fight, and is hardly brought up as a family worth mentioning as far as Witch fighting lines go. Yet still, ask any one of the famous officers from SWORD on down specifically about the Tobins, and likely each one of them would be able to name at least one they've relied on at one point or another. That's the legacy Leo was born to, him and his sister Jamie, three years ahead of him.

Canada was really a brief stop in their lives, their parents Meline Tobin and Kohei Ishii Tobin (their father having taken the unconventional route in order to preserve the Tobin name) thinking it might be the right time to settle down. But it wasn't long before the call of the fight reached out to them again, and when Leo was four, the whole family moved back to Helios. Their parents juggled assignments, making arrangements so that the children would always have at least one parent working home turf. It wasn't perfect, but they made sure that at the very least, they would all spend New Year's together.

Leo grew up knowing he'd be heading to ARMA University. The stories over dinner time were more than enough to stimulate his sense of heroism, and the secrecy around the fact the tales were often somewhat confidential only added to the thrill. He enjoyed the after school lessons their parents taught or enrolled them in -- martial arts, history, math, and everything in between. But perhaps that was because his sister bore the brunt of their parents' expectations, and he just sort of coasted, was a kind of tagalong. It didn't really matter if he did well or not because he mostly wasn't expected to know anything for another three years.

So when at 15, Jamie declared she wasn't going to even try to get into ARMA University, it sent the whole family reeling. Jamie insisted she would instead attend a normal school followed by a normal university and a normal future back in Canada. What shocked Leo more, though, was his parents' reaction. To say Jamie was kicked out for having renounced the family legacy was perhaps a bit of a harsh assessment, but a fair one nonetheless. By the end of the week, she had left to stay the rest of the summer at a friend's house, and any time Leo attempted to talk to his parents about his sister, they told him to focus on his own studies. Ever the peacemaker, though, Leo openly sought out Jamie, and while they got along just as well as they ever did, his older sister refused to talk to their parents unless they changed their minds.

Once Jamie actually left for Canada, matters in Helios stabilized. His parents no longer worried about her 'corrupting' influence over Leo (though no one talked about it, everyone knew she kept asking Leo to come with her), and Leo reassured his parents his intentions remained the same, to attend ARMA University. Still, or perhaps because of that summer, his parents never pushed him nearly as hard as they had pushed Jamie. When his grades suffered because he spent more time out than studying, they let it slide. When he didn't want to go to sword practice because he'd rather be reading, they didn't force him. It practically didn't matter what he did so long as he continually told them he wanted to get into ARMA University. So when he turned 15, took the entrance exam, and failed it, everyone was surprised. He had, up until that point, sort of taken it for granted, and it was hugely disappointing to know he'd let everyone down.

Jamie, however, sent a congratulatory note and another invitation to join him in Canada. They'd in fact been in frequent correspondence over the years, unbeknownst to their parents (though whether his ability to keep the exchanges secret was because he'd done a good job hiding it or if his parents were still actively blinding themselves to Jamie, Leo was never really sure). There were some things he was sure would horrify his parents if they ever knew -- like how Jamie had found herself a Witch girlfriend. Really, it horrified Leo just as much, but losing his sister would've been too much, so he swallowed his own reservations (and worries over if Jamie was really still Jamie or had been bewitched beyond herself) and attempted to express appropriate interest (attempts at cautionary advice had been blown off one too many times for Leo to believe it worth the effort anymore).

Sister aside, Leo had more motivation than ever. He threw himself into his studies. Hockey friends drifted away, replaced by study and practice buddies. The hard work paid off, though, and his acceptance to ARMA University was met with excitement (the sound of his own jubilation had drowned out his parents' sighs of relief). But that year out of ARMA had instilled in him a fear of failure. Never again, he had vowed, to take things for granted (but still always with a smile).

Perhaps due his tendency to pour his energy into every subject, he's one of the few who would do equally well in any one of the branches. His own inclination is probably toward the Anchor Branch, but with both parents in Cross, he's been rather diplomatic about not giving a straight answer when asked where he's aiming.

PERSONALITY: Ask anyone about Leo, they will tell you two things: he's always smiling and he practically never says no, especially an invitation to study or practice. He's always there with a high five or a hug, or if you need it, a word to cheer you up or an ear to rant out. Leo seems to have boundless positivity and optimism and seems to persevere through the sheer belief that things can't go wrong.

The truth of the matter is that Leo knows the amount of effort that it takes to succeed, and he puts it in. He's by no means naturally talented (that was his sister), but he's had more resources to get ahead having grown up in a family whose whole history revolves around the Witches. As a kid, he had had delusions of grandeur, of perhaps being the first Tobin to really stand out in history. Now, he doesn't lack for wanting glory, but he's come to grips with the fact that's a dream, that he's got to give it all just to stay middle of the pack. Leo is always in for one more study session, one more practice round. He's the kind of person who does his homework the day it's assigned rather than the day it's due because he realizes it probably will take him twice as long as everyone else who just has a memory for things. And come the day it's due, his friends know they can rely on him for that extra boost (after all, it's not like he wants his friends to flunk any more than he's willing to accept failure for himself). He does draw the line at straight copying homework, but he figures so long as everyone understands what's going on, that's the important part. (So how many people are actually copying his homework, and just expressing comprehension at all the right moments? Leo doesn't know and willfully doesn't want to know.)

But, that also means whenever his friends ask him to go out, he never has last minute work he has to do, and so the answer is almost always yes. Leo's rarely seen without people around him, and seems to believe people should never be alone. Stick it out alone long enough, and Leo's bound to notice and introduce himself. The way he figures, everyone has a story, and no one deserves to be alone (no matter what they've been through, no matter what mistakes, no matter if they're wrong or are always rude, or are dating a Witch like his stupid sister is). If there is one thing Leo is unrealistically optimistic about, it's that all people are inherently good. He believes in the best of people, forgives everyone (but himself) practically faster than you can say, "I'm sorry." Rarely can anyone maintain a conflict with Leo as a party, and it just breaks him every time some of his friends get in a rough patch he can't fix (and he really does stick his nose in because he truly believes there's a way to resolution, and that talking does work). But his belief in the best also means he's one of the most gullible, and most likely to find himself at the butt of some prank ("You really didn't salt my coffee again? Great! ... Who put hot sauce in my pasta?"). But it's all cool, seeing as he's always in for a laugh at his own expense.

At the end of the day, the things that motivate Leo is a deep-seated hate for failure and conflict. It comes out in the fact he's followed the path to ARMA that's already been laid out for him, in his motivation to do well at university. It comes out the way he still talks to his sister even though she's dating the enemy (the thought that maybe Witches have some humanity has been actively pushed out of his mind more times than he cares to count), still treats Jamie as family despite what their parents imply. But it also means he's rather harder on himself than he needs to be. Despite the fact he's all smiles and confidence, he often doesn't feel like he's doing enough. If only he had more time, he'd be able to do better, and though he'll never say it out loud, he does wish he were the top of even just one of his classes, especially given the work he puts in. And it also means he's a bit indecisive, disinclined to commit to a side and ride out the consequences, though faced with act now or never, he'll manage to do something and then worry later whether or not it was the right choice because failure just simply isn't an option.

REGALIA: Shadow Serpent (nunchaku / D-rated)

There are quite a few strong Regalia associated with the Tobin bloodline (Serpent Strike, Viper Coil, Venom's Sting), and Leo's trained in all the relevant forms, but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately seeing as that means everyone still alive and doing field work), none of them are available. Well, technically, Dragon Tongue was slated for his use, but when the time came to dig it out for his graduation, the Regalia was found missing. Leo is instead being given a rather hastily formed last minute Regalia, one made of the bones of a weak Paracio and in strong imitation of Serpent Strike (a triple staff, but with blades at each end, made of a much more powerful Witch, and with snake motifs engraved in it). He's not about to let anyone know how disappointed he is in this matter though.

APPEARANCE: A rather short girl possessing short green hair, blue eyes, a rather average face and skin complexion. With a thin frame, small chest, haircut, manner of dress and her kind unassuming face she has been mistaken for a boy more than a few times. Often keeping her hair cut short and proper, she often wears the same clothing day-to-day. In this case a thick western style coat and slacks with leather gloves and at times a brown duster jacket. Carries a gun belt holster with room for two revolver style pistols and shell pouches containing her ammunition. At odds to the rest of her getup is a pair of high laced black biker boots. While frail looking her body is somewhat quick and athletic though not all that physically strong. To add to the confusion her appearance may cause is the fact she speaks in a polite almost monotone voice that while a bit feminine is hard to place.

HISTORY: Born to father Mitsurugi and mother Helena Tachibana with three older siblings Aki, Akira and Natsu, the young Mitsu's life was rather typical of the age and era. Well if not for the fact her family was part of a traveling Circus Troupe named Ishida's Traveling Circus. While the world had slowly, then quickly turned to shit, the cities did not have room for everyone and a need to make money and food still existed. In the troupe the small family often moved town to town, village to village.

Naturally while the children were taught some basic schooling they were also expected to join the family act, her mother was a fortune teller, her two brothers, father and sister were acrobatics, a path Mitsu would also follow, until her 13th birthday when one of the protectors of the troupe decided to give her a chance at shooting. She proved surprisingly adept at marksmanship. Taking this up for her act as the years went by she became a trick shooter and one of the troupe's defenders. Particularly fond of the Colt .45 SSA Revolver, and putting on a bit of a Wild West show.

While the group had to deal with the occasional witch attack the fact they were a traveling group of armed freaks in tight groups tended to not be on the top of the "to kill" list. Having seen several ARMA agents on their travels Mitsu became rather fond of them, admiring the work they had done, which most of the Ishida groups members could also agree to. While she had often considered offering her services to ARMA the Circus kept her busy. Until one day at least only a few months prior to the current day.

Traveling to a Village simply named Izunoyama the troupe found the inhabitants slaughtered and torn apart, men, women, children all dead without mercy, three hundred souls, save a small handful that were being protected by an agent, cornering the Witch the Trope had Mitsu bank her shots from a near by utility pole, allowing the agent to close in and finish the job. Never catching the Agents name, the young man did give her a letter of invitation after the pair talked and the troupe took care of his wounds, telling her to do what she seen as best. Sleeping on it for the day Mitsu decided the following morning the best way she could prevent further tragedies like this and protect her family, was to join the Agency.

Making way towards Halflight after a tearful farewell with her family and the troupe, she travels alone eventually reaching what was once Tokyo. Presented the letter to the University Receptionist and putting on a brief gun show in a private viewing, she recountsthe various run-in's her Troupe had with Witches over the years. After this she was given a mental and physical evaluation and was placed in an accelerated training course. Mostly concerned with education than combat training to bring her up to par with the other cadets much was crammed in the last several months. Upon completion of the course her instructor informed her they had a rare weapon that would be suited to her own talents.


PERSONALITY:
Mitsu is known to be rather calm and blank faced carefully observing what is around her and a bit well mannered. Not used to living alone or in large rooms she rarely complains about having a roommate or two, preferring the liveliness of others. While she seeks the happiness of others she doesn't hesitate to fire on threats, while she knows she's taking their happiness away she knows it preserves that of the majority. She however in spite of being a gunslinger doesn't tend to be all that violent, in place acting with a sort of mechanical detachment to her job and even day-to-day life.

While a bit of a hard worker she doesn't seem all that motivated out of hatred or zeal so much as the protection of others, doing her tasks in a timely manner. While a rather seemingly aloof individual she is rather observant and given to juggling displays or other performances if a situation seems grim, hinting at her level of empathy or social awareness. While she dresses cleanly her pride doesn't seem to go past the level of her own abilities, used to living in group situations and risking her life for a living even as a child. Surprisingly is easily unnerved by being alone for long periods of time.

Surprisingly can get angry with those who are needlessly cruel or do not pull their weight in a given situation, rather fond of children. If she had a major flaw it would be her lack of book knowledge. While she has a natural instinct for math and can read, with good street smarts and physical ability, her general education was found severely lacking, which was why the focus on her course was principally book work. While she may have learned much she still only has general level intellect.



REGALIA: B-rated (*)

Armed with one of her own 1873 Colt SAA the other was replaced with a Revolver weapon that looked like an exact replica of a Colt 1851 Navy Revolver, minus it was chambered and barreled for the .45 caliber bullet. Made from a Witch that specialized in P A N T H E R R A based magic, lightning element to be precise, or rather the element being attached to thrown metallic objects.. Given the power requirements and that it needed something to conduct the power it was turned into a revolver design artistically designed as so. Given the archaic form and fact it needed real ammunition to function unless one wanted a two way taser. It also while ranked as a B for it's Range had the power level of a C at best in terms of hitting.

Overall it made it a very unpopular weapon, named Strom's Squall. Carrying all the characteristics of a normal revolver its sole advantage is being able to charge normal pistol rounds as they travel the barrel, giving them the properties of lightning. Be it by chance or fate, the fact a trick shooter would be carrying it may be the weapons one time at being used by someone that likes it.

TALENTS:

Acrobatics: Given her youth and family history, Mitsu is surprisingly nimble, balanced and flexible. Taking a tight rope or covering rough terrain or urban area's posses no real challenge for her.

Trick Shooter: Having specialized in this for years, Mitsu knows how to bank shots or to hit targets from the hip. She however has problems with more distant targets unless given a rifle.

Dualist: While of little value outside of shows or sudden surprises, Mitsu is used to drawing her gun at speed or in enclosed spaces while laying down fire.

Local Knowledge: While until joining ARMA Mitsu has never been in a major City she has seen much of rural Helios. Knowing the roads and most of the smaller towns and villages and locals can come in handy at times.

Natural Entertainer: Given she was a performer as were her parents and siblings, Mitsu has a natural instinct to putting on shows or finding ways to amuse others and while soft and short spoken has nothing against people. She often likes to see others smile and to put on a good show while at it. It was partly this talent that caused her to seek out ARMA.

Unsurprisingly is a huge fan of Western films from the US and weapons of that period.
Cares a great deal for her family and tries to keep in contact with the Troupe.

She can be slightly intimidating, especially with her no nonsense facade, but there's much and more hiding behind it. Her hair is black in color and falls past her waist. Rarely does she cut it, seeing as both she and her mother love it long, and is often seen wearing it up in rigid ponytails or plaits. She has her mother's sea-green eyes, sprinkled with silver, though they have just a smidgen more of blue.

PERSONALITY: A woman of intellectual and physical grace, Yelena was raised in a loving, but rigid household of perfectionists. Over the years it has become ingrained in her psyche to not only do the best -- but to be the best. Because of this, Lena has a tendency to be hard on herself, though it rarely shows outside of closed doors. While not introverted, Lena prefers the company of a few close friends over the cacophonous crowds of acquaintances. Despite this, Lena has crafted a "professional persona" that she oft slips into while preforming her duties. When behind closed doors or around those she feels comfortable with, Yelena is capable of stepping out from behind her walls. While "letting loose" is not quite her style, there is a softer, less rigid side to her. Compassionate, loyal, and mildly humorous, there is a whole other side to Yelena just waiting to be explored.

HISTORY: Born to a Serbian refugee and an American scientist, Yelena was born in the eye of scrutiny and was raised as such. For the first four years of her life, she lived just outside the remnants of the once beautiful Washington D.C., unaware of the backlash her family was receiving. Life was bliss, even in the drug infested lands, until her fifth birthday.

Her father, the Serbian refugee, fled to America in search of a better life. And found one he did -- a loving wife that gave him a loving child -- but the discrimination he faced refused to leave him. But with being a Null, he hadn't expected that much to change. His wife, a scientist working at a small ARMA Chapter in the United States however, hadn't expected the backlash she'd receive for falling in love with a Halfling. A special one, in her humble opinion, at that. Before Lena's third birthday she had convinced him to join the Chapter and with his own academic studies in genetics, he was hired quickly. Two short years after that, both he and his wife were summoned to Helios, to continue their studies abroad where funding for their research was more readily available.

Settling was difficult for the entire family. While the discrimination wasn't as harsh in New Japan, it still lived. This was also the first time Yelena had experienced such encounters, though at the time, she didn't know she was the daughter of a third generation Halfling. Fast forward a few years and life slowly became easier for the family. It was an entire new world... but with their research slowly turning into developments, the new world was opening up to them. By the time she turned thirteen she and her family lived in one of the safest neighborhoods in Helios and it was her time to attend the university.

Her time at the University was a blend of honor and horror. She drug her nose through each and every book placed in front of her, both eager to learn and afraid to fail. When it came to more physical aspects of her education, Yelena preformed as she always did: at her best. It was hard, year after year, but it was also rewarding. To her, and to her parents, who had sacrificed much for them all to be safe and most of all, together. When it came time for graduation, Lena accepted with a hesitant heart. She didn't believe in the full eradication of Witches, but she did believe in protecting the citizens of the world from their tyranny. Though she was offered positions in three branches, she chose to follow her parents into the Anchor Branch. This lasted for a two short years before she grew tired of the repetitiveness. Speaking with her parents and superiors, she asked to be transferred to the Cross Branch. Her wishes were granted and now, a little over six years later, she's hoping to continue her success and become a Warden like the Black Feather.

REGALIA: [A-Rated] "The Spear of the Sea" | Trident
The Sea-Spear was forged from the blood, kidneys, and bladder of a powerful water manipulating Witch. There is a design upon the surface, similar to that of Damascus steel, though it seemingly swirls with the colors black, blue, and silver. It's long, thin, and nigh unbreakable. Yelena brings her Regalia in yearly to make sure there are no imperfections and to receive any, if applicable, upgrades.

TALENTS:
  • Outside of ARMA's curriculum, Yelena has a few hidden talents, one being her love for the harmonica.
  • She's taken to tai chi over the past four years to settle and regulate the wild emotions that come along with her duties.
  • Linguistics; there's something musical about languages and this calls to Lena. She's fluent in English,
    Nihongo, Deutsch, and East Slavic. She's been teaching herself how to read and write in Latin.

  • It's often believed her epithet was given to her mockingly; because she is, technically, a descendant of a Witch.

APPEARANCE: Reina stands lean and trim at 5'5", while her weight fluctuates from about one hundred and ten to one hundred and twenty. When not interacting with anyone, she looks reserved and rather cold, but otherwise, she's quite vibrant and full of life. Her red hair is usually kept relatively short, and she ties it out of her face in either a braid or a ponytail. Her green eyes can be quite piercing, but she likes them, as they remind her of her father. Around the pupil, her eyes are ringed in gold.

HISTORY: Born to a first generation Irish immigrant father and an American mother, Reina grew up more than privy to the horrors that could be contained in a world like this. Her father was always a gentle soul, but when it came to unprovoked attacks on his family, he became a fierce, almost unrecognizable warrior. Though he could defend the family just fine, he taught Reina how to fight as early as five.
Along with that, there were a few local ARMA members that had banded together into a local chapter. They knew that Thomas Devlin could take care of himself, but whenever he needed an extra hand, the ARMA members were there to help. Reina lived a comfortable, if somewhat capricious existence in Seattle, until disaster struck.
One day, as Witches invaded the Devlins' neighborhood, one caught Thomas from behind. Agnes Devlin tried to save him, yet she too was struck down. The ARMA members arrived, but they were too late to save the elder Devlins. In the end, only Reina remained.
The ARMA members were due to return home to Helios soon anyway, so they brought Reina back with them, as they had grown close to the Devlins over the years, and many of them had seen the now twelve year old girl grow up. They vouched for her as she settled into life, and she entered the University at fourteen. Her time was dedicated to pursuits of the mind as much as pursuits of the sword, her weapon of choice, and she kept relatively to herself until she felt secure in her place. The loss of her parents has never left her mind, but it no longer comes to her in the form of vengeance.

PERSONALITY: Reina is a calm, even tempered girl most of the time, but when confronted by someone or when excited, she can become quite heated and competitive. She's quite extroverted, but she doesn't allow very many people into her head. She is still the picture of a friendly person, but there's something that seems off about her. Once she warms up to people, she's quite kind and open. She can be quite humorous, and is in possession of a wicked tongue, but it's a side that is not often seen, as she spends the majority of her time buried deep into her studies. She strives to be the best in all regards, so that she might succeed where her parents had failed. She tried to remain friendly and approachable at all times, as she craves connection.

REGALIA: [B-Rated} High Noon
High Noon is a clamshell claymore, properly known as a claidheamh da laimh. As it comes from the highlands, it's a sword that Reina's father was quite familiar with, and therefore, she grew up learning the technique and gaining the strength to use this sort of two handed sword. The pommel and guard are made of witch bones, and the grip is a mix of ray skin and preserved fire witch skin. The blade itself seems to have a reddish-orange cast to it, as though fresh from the forge.

TALENTS:

  • TACTICS - Reina has dedicated herself to learning the battle tactics of the greats, and when in a position to do so during her courses, often executes them to great success.
  • TANG SOO DO - As a nod to Agnes's ancestry, Reina learned this form of martial arts at a young age, achieving the rank of first degree black belt mere months before her parents' deaths.
  • KEEN EYE - Due to her past and the loss of her parents, Reina tends to be the kind of person who is always observing the area around her, making her quick to catch on to surprise attacks.

Anna has long white hair that reaches her bottom. She usually keeps her hair in a braid or in a bun. Her eyes are a deep shade of purple that gives off a sense of melancholy to those who stare long enough. She has a curvy figure with slight, barely noticeable muscles. One of her most noticeable features is the scar on her cheek. One would think it was due to a great fight but in reality, it was actually just an accident during training. She also has piercings. Two on her left ear and one on her right although she only wears them when she doesn't need to fight or train. Her sense of style is also quite peculiar. Usually in a theme of a sailor or an aristocrat.

HISTORY:
Anna is the daughter of Gilbert Voronin and Natasha Voronin. The two of them got married in Russia, their birth place. However, upon finding out about their newborn baby, they both agreed to move somewhere safer. This resulted in them immigrating to Helios. They started out rough but by the time Anna turned two, they acquired stable jobs. Gilbert, a teacher and Natasha sometimes works as a waitress. Anna grew up normally until one faithful day prompted her to change that.

It was a Tuesday night, around eleven-ish. Anna was around 14 years old. She just came back from her project partner's house after studying. Her partner offered to let her stay the night but she declined. She assured her that her house was nearby, which it was. On the way, she decided to stop by at the convenience store to buy something for her parents as an apology for getting home late. Normally, she wouldn't do this but she remembered it had been a long time since she bought something. Originally, she planned on buying something cheap but that thought made her decide to buy something a bit more higher.

When Anna walked in, she could see only two people other than her. A female cashier who seemed to be in her late teens and a man in his late twenties. Anna wasn't surprised. It was a Tuesday night after all. She looked around and decided to buy a tub of ice cream. As she was searching for a suitable flavor, she could hear the bell of the convenience store ring, signifying someone entered. She could also hear something else. It was the person's footsteps, they sounded wet. Before she could look who it was, she was pulled behind a rack. She was confused and looked to see who the culprit was. It was the man. He put a finger to his lips, the universal sign to stay quiet. By now, she was even more confused but that was resolved when the man made a phone call. Although the man talked in a hushed tone, she could still hear clearly. Apparently he called A.R.M.A. This immediately start to panic. The only reason to do that was because there was a witch. So the wet footsteps were a witch's.

That panic and fear lessen slightly at the thought of A.R.M.A coming. She knew she should just stay hidden but her curiosity was greater. She swallowed a lump and peeked. It was a woman with blood soaked clothes. Probably the reason of the wet footsteps. She also had short brown hair and silver eyes. The confirming fact she was a witch. She was standing in front of the now passed out cashier. Anna could see there was an air of melancholy surrounding the witch. Before she could inspect further, she was pulled once again. She looked at the man and she could see he looked furious. Anna could understand why. Her actions would've gave them away. She bowed her head and mouthed an apology which the man took reluctantly. She smiled in relief but it was quickly replaced with a gaping mouth when the man suddenly passed out. At least, she hoped he just passed out. She raised her head to see the witch. There was supposed to be fear in her but instead, wonder crept in. She stared at the witch's silver eyes. They were filled with disappointment and what was close to despair.

The witch extended a hand and Anna closed her eyes awaiting whatever pain she was about received. She could feel the witch's hand on her head but she felt nothing akin to pain. She opened one eye then the other. To her astonishment, a sword had pierced through the witch. Once again, Anna was drawn to look at her eyes. This time, there was bittersweet relief in them. She didn't understand but she strongly wanted to. The witch fell on her side and behind her were a couple of people who she could tell were from A.R.M.A by their uniforms. To say Anna was dazzled was an understatement. It seemed like a scene in a movie. The way the light shone behind them, the way their hair and clothes fluttered from the soft wind. They looked like superheroes in her eyes. She started to stand up to thank them but suddenly her vision clouded. Before she knew it, she passed out.

When she came to, she found herself in a hospital with her parents by her side, worried and anxious. She found out the witch was being hunted after being discovered to be one. They assured her parents that the witch had been exterminated. Anna could feel something. If she were to word it, she would call it sympathy. She wasn't sure why. The good news was that the other two people in the store were safe and fine. They were simply put to sleep much like herself. The only reason it didn't take affect immediately was because they stabbed her before she could finish the job.

Since then, her parents had been protective of her which was slightly uncomfortable. They had always been strict so having them dote her was unusual. She also gained three things that day. Two things that her parents hoped she's never have and one thing they didn't know of but will even more concern for. Admiration for A.R.M.A, the want to become one and the last thing was the want to know more about witches. Not in the sense to kill them. Just generally find out more about them. Their motivations, emotions, etc.

It took a few months before her parents allowed to go albeit reluctantly. During her education, she was still considerably normal. Normal grades and normal social life. She found out she was better with melee weapons rather than other kinds of weapons. While she attended there, she stayed in contact with her parents but every time, they would express their concerns and their hopes that she would change her mind. Every time that happened, she would tell them she would be fine which worked in a way.


PERSONALITY:
If someone were to describe Anna in one word, it would be merry. It's not that she's hyperactive or anything. It's because the air around here just seeps that. People can see she's a cheerful girl just by looking at her. She is optimistic in a way but not too optimistic. She is also quite childish and fun. She is rarely ever seen serious or sad. She tries her best to make the people around her happy as well. Although there is a line she won't cross. She won't intrude their privacy or personal bubble. She's well mannered and usually refers to everyone by their last name even if they tell her not to.

There are parts of her people overlook. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover. People would often be surprised when she acts her age. This usually happens when she knows it's a serious situation or if she feels the need to. She constantly tells people that just because she looks stupid, doesn't mean she was. In fact, she gives out good advice though she doesn't practice what she preaches all the time.

It's not always that she gets angry but when she does, she usually acts rash and violent. Fortunately she's not violent to people but to objects. If she's angry, she'd more often than not start vandalizing though usualy it's her own things. Another thing is the fact she's curious. This would often lead to problems since she'd follow her curiosity. She tries hard to change this though.

There is a particularly special side of her that developed in her childhood. Back then, they weren't well off and her mother would always tell her "Money doesn't grow on trees" whenever she acted spoiled because she wanted something. This caused her to be extremely prudent when it came to money. If she were to chose between two items to buy, she'll always go for the cheaper one. She is also very easily flustered when it comes to sexual or affectionate touches that aren't from her parents. Another interesting thing about her is that she seem's to sometimes be a low-key sadist.

Of course, like everyone else, she has flaws. One of them being she hesitates very easily and constantly. It doesn't matter if it's fight wise or general wise. Especially killing wise. Because of her curiosity for witches, it would prove to be a problem for her to actually kill one. Another thing is that she idolizes the agents so much to the point she will believe any good thing about them or anything they say and refuse to believe any bad thing about them. In her eyes, they are heroes with no fault or flaws.

REGALIA:
A warhammer made from the remains of a Pantherra. A witch with the ability to manipulate gravity. She wasn't all that strong which resulted in the weapon being C-rated. Each time Anna hits something with this, the gravity on the hammer increases as well as the damage. If she hits something or someone repeatedly, it is likely that the target would get shattered by the 30th hit. Unless Anna stopped hitting for at least a minute and a half. The hammer is as long as Anna's arm, usually requiring two hands. Although when she's not tired yet, she uses one hand. Anna kinds of appreciates the design of the bird because her last name means crow.

Close Combat: She is quite good at close combat though her movements makes it seem as if she's relieving her stress by how forward and rough she attacks.

TRIVIA:

  • In all actuality, Anna has low pain tolerance which is ironic with what weapon she's using. She's trying to change that though.
  • Don't let her modify anything. Especially not food. It's not like she can't cook but when she tries to make something better it turns out worse.
  • She cries when she eats spicy food.

  • The first thing she looks at is a person or animal's eyes. She's fascinated by them.

Eden is a small, lithe girl with only two defining features: her bright red hair, alternatively pinned and to her shoulders, or down around her back, and bright green eyes. HISTORY:​
"I don't remember much from my early childhood, flashbacks, mostly. I have​
these stray memories of silent rooms and children on playgrounds like picture shows though I never joined in. I'd always be too concerned with myself. My first real memories come from when I was about 5 or 6, my parents really started fighting around that time. Dad would always wince away from Mom's advances, she's yell and throw fists, complaining that Dad never helped with me. In some ways it was true, Mom was the only one who bothered learning sign language for me, but it's not like dad didn't pick some of it up. In truth, i think he just had a different understanding of how our family worked, he was confident in a solid bond that, despite being largely invisible, was always there. Dad was a pushover though; He only won me over in custody because Mom had been so abusive.​
Growing up in Halflight was easy enough, but to live in such a bustling metropolis​
without so much as a pin drop has its drawbacks. It's not like I can really tell the difference to be bitter about my deafness, but it's just hard in general to move around and live, even when life back then was just school and home. Every once in a while I'd see flashing lights on my way from school, and watch witches get pulled off into dark alleys by A.R.M.A agents. It was gritty, and had an air of illegality to it, but I'd seen what those monsters could do if they're left unchecked. I'd never pay it mind to see the agents at work around the city, it was just part of life. The streets had witches, the news had witches, sometimes our nightmares had witches. It's frightening to think that some of them could be in your head and you wouldn't even know it.​
Going through school was difficult as a deaf girl; I'd always get pushed from​
behind as a joke, or just run over by the hastier students in the halls. I'd found comfort over time in crossdressing. Dad had been my only source of leadership for so long, even despite his passive nature i grew to identify his masculinity with the comfort of home. Dressing as a boy at school or when I went out was my way of dealing with being vulnerable without hearing. Some say that being born without one sense or another isn't so bad, because you can't tell the difference, but i know better. Being deaf is still being deaf, I can't hear things behind me, I can't hear my name being called. I've learned to rely so much on my eyes that I tend to keep them peeled pretty much all the time, as well as scanning my arms around me to avoid anything I can't see. A lot of kids in secondary would sign to me "owl" if they needed my attention; It was easier than learning my actual name.​
After school I'd grown apart from my father, just because of his distant attitude. I​
know he means well, but I can't seem to connect with him. I would spend my time going around the city, visiting parks or just watching people. I took up photography as a hobby for a bit, usually snapping pictures of crime scenes or A.R.M.A arrests. It was after one of these particular run-ins that I was approached by an earnest young agent; He offered me a small handout, an ad for ARMA University, telling me, 'If you're so interested in the squad, maybe you should join up for yourself! They're always looking for fresh meat!'. His overtly bright attitude made me want to move far away, but he had a point. At the very least I thought he had a point at the time. I had time to spare, and almost no meaning to my life, my best bet at finding myself was to join the military police force called 'A.R.M.A'.​
Even if it wasn't really the smartest decision I'd ever made, School has been good​
to me, and I feel like I might have a place among these people if I really try. I should be graduating soon, but It's one thing to pass in a controlled environment, and I'm scared."

PERSONALITY:​
It's hard to describe a complex person like Eden, but at the very least she's honest when she speaks, and polite when she doesn't. She's all in all a tough cookie to crack, rarely spilling secrets, answers, recipes, passwords, or anything, really. Eden has a firm sense of self, centered around her desire to be a good presence in the world, to be anything and everything her childhood wasn't.


TALENTS: Eden is almost always hypervigilant and quick on her toes; Years of paranoid anxiety and existential fear have turned her into a collected and poised machine. Observant and strong-willed, she rarely misses details, and when she's focused, Eden could probably watch the world in slow motion.

TRIVIA: Eden is rather uncharacteristically violent and boisterous when her family life is questioned. She also believes that the female witch power imbalance is a total joke.

As a child, he never understood why humans and witches couldn't get along and the blind hatred people had for Nulls like himself. He was a social outcast, having to endure relentless bullying and racism. This caused him do be extremely uncomfortable in his own skin. He had lots of self-doubt and self-hatred, never able to figure out who he was. He felt like he was a freak or some kind of monster. He wasn't a witch, yet he also wasn't a human. He felt like he didn't fit in anywhere. This only worsened the isolation.

Acheron was younger he always felt abandoned by his father. He has never met him and his mother refused to talk about him, and the few times he did she would always cry. After a while, he stopped asking. Though like most children he was curious, so while his mother was out one day he went through her things, trying to find any information on his dad. He was never supposed to find what he found, and he wished to god that he hadn't.

He found her diary from before he was born. It turns out that his father was a wealthy businessman who had raped Acheron's mother. After re-reading her diary over and over, he almost threw up. Not only was he a freak, but he was born from an evil act. This event sent him spiraling, he was unable to look at himself in the mirror and he stopped eating for some time. He felt that his life was a giant sin, but he would never consider suicide because he knew his mother would be devastated. And after all, she's been through he didn't want to cause her more pain.

A few years later he found out that his father had been killed by an attack from witches. Acheron, although not a vindictive or spiteful person, felt like it was poetic justice.

As Acheron grew older he was slowly able to start accepting himself and put his cruel past behind him. He didn't know what he wanted to do in life until he was visiting a neighboring town that had been attacked by witches. To see the devastation first hand was eye-opening. It was then that he understood why people fear witches. He felt enlightened, realizing that while there may be good witches in the world, that there are evil ones as well. Although the two species are different, in this way they are similar. This is when he decided to try and join A.R.M.A. He wanted to protect those who couldn't protect themselves, on both sides.

Personality: Acheron's past hasn't been very easy, but despite everything, he always tries to put on a smile. He is the first to start chatting with people and loves to make others laugh, even at his own expense. He can be goofy and quirky. He is very caring so when people that he cares about get hurt he will doubtingly throw himself into danger to help. He is selfless and sometimes carefree. He tries to stay positive even when things get tough.

Although he always appears outwardly happy, Acheron, like most others has his demons. He is in a constant struggle with trying to be happy and trying to accept himself. On some days he hates his witch half, and others he hates his human half. It makes him feel isolated from both groups. With the constant persecution he's faced from being a Null it has made him into a self-hating person.

Even so, he refuses to let his troubles stop him. He wants to help people and prove that Nulls are not bad people. He wants to become stronger so that he can be in a leading position at A.R.M.A. and help to stop the racism and fighting between both sides.

The right being Castor and the left being Pollux. Their power is of the Pantherra variety, which means that they can control and manipulate water. In addition to the witches power, the gauntlets also have razor sharp claws at the end of each finger and a small retractile blade that comes out from the top of each hand.

HISTORY:
Saito was raised in Europe after his parents had tried to flee the crumbling wards of Japan, however the threat of Witch attacks was no less in their new environment. He suffered the loss of his parents at a very young age and ended up having to fend for himself. This sudden change is what fueled his hate for witches and drove his survival instincts. Revenge is a powerful emotion when directed at a problem that is ever present.

Eventually, he found an organization that was fighting back against the witches known as OATH (Organization of Assessment, Theory and Hunters). He joined up as soon as he was able to, having been on his own for so long. He brought with him a street smarts and attitude that he had acquired through trials and tribulations up until then. He showed great promise as he rose up through the program, catching the eye of the Organization's Head's daughter. It wasn't until he proved himself during an incident in which Saito killed a rampaging witch with a D-ranked Regalia while still young that he was put on the fast track to getting his own.

His tenacious attitude and seemingly fearless persona made him an asset to OATH, and also gained him a fiancé in the leader's daughter, her taking the initiative and choosing him and giving him little say in the matter. Things were done a little bit differently at OATH than perhaps at the Mother Organization, ARMA. For one, no halflings were allowed in their organization. They were fighting the witch threat and had hard beliefs and heavy discrimination against anyone related to Witches. They wouldn't kill a Halfling if they happened upon one, but they surely wouldn't trust it or employ it. As a product of a human male lying down with such a plight to humanity, Halflings were seen as a blight in the eyes of OATH, only good for observation and possibly experimentation. (With them not being directly run by A.R.M.A. they take liberties that they feel are necessary and right by their Head, who still would have to answer to A.R.M.A if questioned).

It was decided later on in Saito's career, that he should transfer over to Helios and join A.R.M.A., though he wasn't exactly clear on who made the call. He had always wondered how the bigger organization differed from his own, and how they incorporated "Chimeras" into their ranks. That aside, he looks forward to the opportunity to try something new and learn from the experience in hopes that it makes him better or that he can even make the younger generation a little better. Humanity needs all the help it can get, as the witch threat is still ever-present.

PERSONALITY:
Saito seems like a thug with a vendetta, but that's just because his organization fostered the feelings that drove him forward. He's a rather laid back individual at heart though, always up for a good spar, joke, or drink. He particularly likes to see the results of the younger generation, having had a few under his wing before. He is both strict in lenient when dealing with those under him, knowing that mistakes will be made, but reminding them that those very mistakes could cost them or those around them their lives.

He can be a bit standoffish in the beginning, chosing to get a read of those around him first before deciding whom he wishes to communicate with. However, he would never simply be rude to someone if they approached him and began a conversation with him. He definitely has an issue with the way ARMA allows halfings among its ranks, thinking of them as abominations, although he plans to never say that aloud, if it can be contained. He may seem to have a rough personality, but he couldn't be more prepared and willing to thorw himself into the fray for others.

Siato's blade was crafted using the changed form of an Odyr witch. She was a true monster that savaged Europe, seemingly looked up to as the Mother of Beasts. While extremely vicious, destructive, and violent, the key to her successful rampage was that there were no forces of equal or greater strength. That had held true for a very long time, but then ARMA stepped in and with them came a few different allied organizations of lesser size. It was one of these sister organizations that managed to take down this Witch, against the advise of ARMA. The losses and injured were high, but the end result was the death of the witch. The golden hue of the blade is thought to be caused by the use of the Witch's golden-like hide in her changed form and her heart and lungs. The handle was made with some of the Witch's bones, mainly the femur spine, and skull. The swing of this sword gives off the sound of a beast exhaling heavily and exudes an almost overbearing aura of foreboding, like a beast ready to devour its prey.
