"Well, well. I'd heard rumors that you'd set yourself up quite nicely in here but you're essentially doing business from an unassailable fortress, Mr. Fisk. I admire that." Oswald said before turning his attention to McCallister.

"Yes, yes, my nephew. No doubt he's set to squandering every resource I gave him access to. It's sizeable what he has, and with LexCorp funding the reconstruction, well - he won't miss the fact that I've got far more than Thomas thinks I have access to. I think I would like to remain... missing for a time, Mr. Fisk. I would be delighted to partner with you." He chuckled lightly. "I'd be happy to play the part of Rook for you. A steadfast ally in time of need. But this time, it's the Rook taking refuge behind the King, eh?"

Oswald got up and strutted around some, looking McCallister over. "Something familiar about you, boy, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Of course, I'll arrange a fifty-fifty split for the funding of the building purchase... but I have an additional idea. Both to add to our little chess analogy, adding a bishop as it were, and to give my nephew some needed distraction... businesses grow best when they have competition. I've got an enterprising friend in Boston. I think I shall see if Miss Mooney wouldn't like to expand her business to Gotham. With your blessings of course, Mr. Fisk."

Of course Fisk knew that Maria Mercedes "Fish" Mooney, after a fight with the local mob in Boston had purportedly died, then returned, and with a vengeance. Not long after her reappearance she'd displaced or killed off all of the other bosses in town. There were rumors that she had gained some metahuman powers but no one knew for sure if that was true or just hyperbole. One thing was clear - she was ruthless and efficient.

Jason listened to Cobblepot talk, nodding and quietly humming as he did so. When the man was finished Jason looked him in the eye. He wasn't nervous when Cobblepot recognized him. After all it wasn't like he was gonna go to Bruce himself and let him know that Jason was alive.

"I lived in Gotham for a while. You might've seen my face on the street. But, as we also know, Joker is currently on the loose causing more chaos, making it harder for us to start our business in Gotham. I do agree that it's wise to let Miss Mooney come to Gotham and expand her business, that is what Mister Fisk is doing after all, but I also think that we and her must be cautious of Joker's actions. He already attempted attacking Big Patrick and his forces so who knows what his next move will be."

Once he arrived at the location, he got off the bike before walking into the park. He then changed his sensors to locate the object. The device he had was to be used to locate things from far away, but because the item in question had such a unique energy signature, he could use his own sensors to locate it from a short distance. Now all he had to do was find it.
mother4-01.gif
Once he got close to the object, the energy signature seemed to override and baffle his longer range sensors, so he had to bypass them in order to normalize his perceptions. Just in time to see this...
300px-Movie_frenzy.png

"Disassembly of opposition, beginning."
It was roughly human sized and moving toward him at a high rate of speed, appendages whirling. Initial analysis of its composition showed that the shotgun would be of minimal use.

The T-800 looked at the machine once he turned his sensors off. After noticing that his shotgun in fact wouldn't work aside from some slowdown, he decided that his best bet was to fight it head on. Even though it was running at him at such a high rate, T-800 was fast enough to calculate where its best weak point would be in just enough time to throw a punch at said point as soon as it was close enough to strike it.

Excellent gentlemen, let's work out some numbers estimates on number on initial outlay in money, weapons and men. Consider hiring a new meta for that area and report back to me for the purpose of finalizing plans. Mister mcCallister this is your baby, but, mister Cobblepot is our front man. Be generous with profit dispersion please.

That weak point turned out to be at the waist area. And indeed, the machine seemed to break in two... but in retrospect was seemingly designed to. The two parts latched onto him and sprouted multiple tools like plasma torches, circular blades and spikes and began jabbing at him all over in an effort to find spots to literally disassemble it. Close up scans of the cybernetic attacker showed that it was poorly shielded against possible EMP and that it appeared to be somehow organic as well - simply put, it wasn't a robot or an AI - it was alive.

With that determination made, there were two small sections of the attackers that seemed to be the power generators, though those areas were heavily armored.

The T-800's tactical computer had determined that he needed to focus on one of the two attacking portions at a time.

With all of this information, how would the T-800 respond?

"There was a talented woman I had my eye on but I had to leave her in the lurch - she's not likely to remember that kindly. I had been in negotiation with Bane, but the man still has an unreasonable obsession with the Bat, and refused my offer because he had not been seen in Gotham for some time. I'll have to rattle a few cages to see who I can shake looks on the enhanced help side of things." Cobblepot replied.

"So, I will contact Miss Mooney with my proposal and see how she responds. She never did like my nephew very much, being in direct competition with him may tempt her further. Good day, gentlemen. I shall repair to my little chateau - you know where it is, Mister Fisk."

He gave a few grunts of approval, gathered his things and made his way out of the facility.

After scanning the attacking machine and learning that the two pieces latched to his shoulders were the power generators, the T-800 was able to determine that it was best to try and shoot them. Because they were such close range, the force from being shot directly head on with the pump shotgun should be enough to destroy them.

The T-800 quickly pulled out the shotgun from behind his jacket with one hand and shot one of the robotic parts on his shoulder before shooting at the next, of course making sure that his shoulder wouldn't be caught in the line of fire as well when he shot.

Well, it didn't destroy them. but it did knock them free. He had scant seconds to react before they re-attached themselves again as they were already self-repairing the small amount of damage the shotgun did. Of course the two parts were smaller now and it did previously determine that they were unable to move the weight of the T-800. They could be immobilized with enough pressure, which should allow for disabling them.

Meanwhile its scanners cleared up - this meant that the object was moving further away. Far enough not to cause interference. If the unit didn't dispatch these enemies soon he would lose the trail and have to use the long range scanner again.

The T-800 quickly noticed that the object was getting away. He had little time to react so he could get to it, causing him to literally pick up the two parts with his bear hands as they were self repairing before bashing them together multiple times with just enough force that should be able to destroy them.

After the first smash... they stuck together, and changed shape. Into, essentially, manacles around the T-800's wrists. Then the spinning blades were back, cutting though pseudo-flesh and causing sparks as it tried to saw off its arms halfway up its wrists. A pair of eyes formed out of the transforming creature and a voice echoed from a speaker somewhere on it.
"Cybernetic lifeform - inferior. Incapable of advanced combat tactics. It will be deactivated."

The leverage the T-800 now had was minimal as its arms were bound in front of it. The tactical computer it had listed the possible advantages it could exploit now.
  • Use superior strength to force arms out of current restraints. Chance of success: 23.1%
  • Exploit target's weakness to EMP by exposing target to large electrical source - nearest source, light pole 23m SE of current position. Would require damaging light pole with sufficient damage... collision? Chance of Success 31.6%
  • Strike attacking unit against object of sufficient strength to damage it. Based on current scans - nearest source 35.3m NNW - marble statue. Chance of Success 45.1%
  • Temporarily overload unit's primary systems with power surge. Target may be directly infused with sufficient electrical energy to disable. WARNING! This action will disable this unit for 12.5 seconds after deployment. Chance of Success 81.2%

After every possible tactic was listed, the T-800 obviously went with the one with the highest success rate. Though the surge would disable his own systems for twelve seconds, it would be worth it to get these things off of him and get to the object, which was getting farther and farther away as he continued to fight.

The T-800 closed its eyes and charged up a ton of energy before deploying an enormous power surge that should be enough to deactivate the two robots.

Though this miserable mudball of a planet was disgusting to behold, it did have some good points. For example, it barely batted an eye when he took over Burnow Island as his base of operations, as petty dictators apparently popped up all the time. No one cared about the lives snuffed, the families whose bones were long since dust. Overall, it had been the most pleasant distraction since he arrived to Earth.

Such was the figure known in world politics as General Krang.

na20CW4.jpg

Petty dictator of an island barely a third the size of Rhode Island, Krang was a minor footnote next to such names as Advanced Idea Mechanics, the League of Shadows, Cobra and Hydra combined and more. Which was just how he liked it, wanting little more then to keep to his own work, away from petty nuisances as this worlds various rats in costumes. Still...He had been at war long enough to recognize a need for allies. It was ironic that he would find one in the form of an ancient enemy, both a long time ago during the era of the Shogunate where he dealt with the one known as Kitsune and later, in the modern world he found his enemy reborn.

The irony of banding with him now was not lost on either. It was not a question of if the Foot Clan and General Krangs forces would clash....It was when. Both accepted this truth and under a cordial degree of mutual hate, they had come to this point.

Little did the Shredder know, that even at this point that his usefulness to Krang was soon coming to an end. His new ally, more powerful and dangerous then the Shredder would be set up in New York City....And when he was done? No more Shredder....No more Foot Clan.

No more heroes.

It was enough to brighten his day.

---------

Meanwhile, with Raphael, Apolex would nod and back away.

"Two nights hence, in Hell's Kitchen atop the old Meatpacking Plant. I will come alone."

And in a flash, she was gone.

From another side of the park, the Red Skull and a half dozen of his chosen specialists are combing the park looking for a specific energy source.

" Hurry you fools ! I am certain we can use this odd energy source to our advantage. But we must find it before the costumed freaks do".

( To Jason as he's leaving ) Use company funds, we have dummy corporations available for just such occasions.

Jason nodded at Fisk's request. "No problem. I'll go add up the total and get back to you when the purchase is complete." And with that note, Jason went back to his "cell" to begin adding up the costs and such.

The surge was unexpected, and the mechanical beast seized up much as the T-800 did.

1352516512_screen.jpg

Once his systems had rebooted, the creature had reassembled itself into one piece, but it was still sparking. "Additional opposition located. Fa-fal-fallback plan ini...." It fell silent, obviously failing. Followed by a small explosion that rocked the T-800 back, but with only cosmetic damage. The object was on the move again seemingly going underground as best as the T-800's built-in sensors could tell.

But that explosion lit up the area, and let the Red Skull and his minions that there was something else besides their target in Central Park, or rather now... under it.

" Spread out you fools, search pattern alpha, keep your eyes peeled for others. We aren't the only ones looking for this prize. "

They spread out, three men on either side of the Red Skull. He with his current second, Lady Viper. He continued to follow his energy tracking device. He vowed to himself, he would get this thing back to his scientist, Arnim Zola.

Once the attacking machine was taken care of, the T-800 threw it on the ground and stepped on it just to be safe, grinding the remaining pieces under his foot. The object was far enough as it was, now apparently underground. Resuming his mission, the Terminator then went to an empty picnic site where he would be right above the object since it was now underground. As he was above the object, several heat signatures around his location, causing him to try and identify them.

"Huh. That looks a little like Angel. Third floor. Three-oh-two. You'll have to knock hard. She had an accident recently. Once the month is over she's switching to a first floor apartment. We have an elevator but since it might be awhile before she gets out of that wheelchair. Don't tell her I know her secret identity. I'm not about to tell anyone and I don't want the poor girl to worry about that on top of everything else that's happened to her." He stuck out his hand to Raven. "By the way, I'm Stanley. Stanley Scriven."
"Thank you," Raven replied in her monotone voice then gave the man a rather small smile when he shared his name. "Nice to met you." She replied and put her hand out to shake his. "And I know she'll appreciate how you won't tell anyone along with the rest of the Titans." She added after they finished shaking hands.
