Name: Shiroyama Hikari

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Class: Mage

Weapon(s) and Equipment:
A ceremonial staff
known as Tengokuryu no Yumi, which means "Bow of the Heavenly Dragon". No one knows why a staff is named "bow" but they figure it was probably reforged from a bow at some point. Tengokuryu no Yumi replicates spells cast by the wielder twice, once at 75% magnitude and once at 50%. The staff will select the targets of the copy with its own judgement if the wielder fails to exert her own willpower upon it. The staff only uses this ability if it's wielder is a woman because its kinda a pervert. The staff is about 6 foot long and has a 6 pointed cross at its head. The center of the cross has a simple eye marking on both sides.
Magic Robes made of some kind of magical fiber that's incredibly tough. It feels like normal cloth, but it is about as hard as steel when it comes to cutting/impaling attacks.

Element: Light - Dragonbreath style (used by priests of the Heavenly Dragon's shrine)

Combat Info: Hikari's combat style revolves around enchantments and blessings, although the style she uses does involve a few attacks too. Among her repertoire are skills such as:
Sanctuary: The user creates an area in which damage output from everyone inside it is minimised. The strongest sword attacks leave the target with a light bruise. This affects both friend and foe alike. Attacks made from outside the area targeting those inside it will retain full strength, so it's not great for dealing with ranged foes. Cannot be replicated.
Heavenly Ward: As time passes, the user will naturally begin to emit an aura of magical suppression which weakens both physical and magical attacks against the user. The longer the battle goes on, the higher her resistances. Will reset to minimum upon use of a more powerful spell such as Repulse.
Repulse: An wave of light is projected from the user, which forces enemies away from her. The lighter the enemy, the further away they move. Does not deal direct damage, but minions may take damage from collision with pointed rocks. Cannot be replicated by the staff.
Divine Smite: The user calls a bolt of celestial lightning, which deals heavy damage to those classified as "undead", but has no effect on living entities or machines.
Lifelink: The user designates a target. For a short time, when the target takes damage, the user will regain health equal to 20% of the damage taken. When the user takes damage, the target will regain health equal to 20% of the damage taken.
Center Stage: The user releases a powerful explosion of sound which draws the attention of anything that fails their willpower check. Essentially redistributes aggro, in gaming terms. For a short time, hit targets will be deafened and will struggle to gain aggro against things other than the user.
Heavenly Dragon's Champion: The user's staff transforms into an ethereal spear and they gain an ethereal shield. While this is active, the user cannot access any other spells and can gain neither positive or negative buffs, but in exchange gains heightened offense and defense and regenerates health over time.

Non-Combat Info:
Hikari is very much a typical honor student. She seems perfect in every way - beautiful, a good athlete, top of the class, kind, well endowed... She can actually be quite intense, but she has a good sense of humour and never takes anything truly seriously. She can't stand solemnity, so she might crack some tasteless jokes in these situations.

Backstory: Since forever, the Shiroyama family have been in charge of a mountain town in Belgrave's Western mountain range - commonly known as the white mountains for the abundance of mountain and whiteness. The village is a famous pilgrimage, and many come from far and wide to pay their respects to the Tengokuyru, which is viewed as the living incarnation of the sun god. The family also acts as shrine priests and maintain the temple, and are said to be the only group whom the heavenly dragon will speak to as equals. Lately, problems have been arising in the area, and Hikari, the middle-est daughter of the household has been given the task of solving those problems. She decided she would join the Academy and have her family create quests and missions - a way of having adventurers solve their problems without needing to pay a fraction of a mercenary's cost.

Name: Sonny Everclear

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Class: Mage

Weapon(s) and Equipment: An ancient tome that forever gives off a warm yet faint pulsing light. The book has several purposes. Mainly he uses the book as a guide to learn different spells. When in a bind however, he can use the book as both a weapon and as armor. Though unassuming, the book somehow packs quite a wallop if he's able to hit his opponent with it and if he manages to hit you over the head, expect to see stars! He also uses the book as a shield, as it can absorb most single target spells and physical attacks. Despite having so many uses for the book, he is no knight and his reaction time is horrible, so his chances of being able to defend himself properly are about 50/50.

Element: Light

Combat Info: Sonny's proficiency lies in his healing/support magic. He is still in training and has not reached the point where he can cast any offensive spells. As mentioned previously, he carries with him an ancient tome that has become something of a family heirloom. When in a pinch, he uses the book as both a defensive and offensive weapon although he isn't very good at defending himself. Having not yet deciphered enough of the book to cast any offensive spells, he usually hangs out in the background, out of harms way and relies on his allies to protect him.

Soul Spring - Gradually heals wounds over time. Quick cast can instantly heal minor to moderate wounds on any one person at great cost to his mana reserve.

Panacea - Quick cast can instantly heal most status ailments inflicted by magic.

White Barrier - Quick cast: Pysical Barrier - Instantly casts an invisible light around an ally that grants partial resistance to physical attacks. Quick cast: Magical barrier - Instantly casts an invisible light around an ally that grants partial resistance to magical attacks. White Barrier: Casts an invisible light around an ally that offers partial resistance to both physical and magical attacks. This spell requires a full incantation.

Soul Reflection- Casts a reflect spell on an individual so that any spells targeting that person are bounced back at the user. This spell requires a full incantation.

Quell - Nullifies any supportive spells used by an individual. This spell requires a full incantation.

Non-Combat Info: Unfortunately Sonny isn't the most capable mage. While he's adept at casting spells, he's also clumsy, scatterbrained and feeble bodied, yet his magic makes him an asset to any team. He looks up to other mages who seem to have it all together and strives to be more like them. Constantly at his side is a puppy named Farful, who always follows him into battle. Although farful doesn't seem to serve any true purpose, Sonny appears to do better when he knows his friend is safe.

When it comes to skills outside of combat, the young mage doesn't have many. Sonny is a horrible cook and always finds a way to ruin any dish he tries to make. He's too forgetful to be good at chores and anyone assigning them to him usually become frustrated after a while. He cannot sing, act or dance to save his life and isn't good at getting his point across either, so diplomacy isn't in the cards for him. He's always taking a hand at different things to see if there's something he's good at, however it hasn't provided him with any positive results just yet.

With so many negative attributes, one would think he's completely hopeless, but he does have a few saving graces. Although it may not be considered a talent, he is extremely kind and generous and it's generally easy for him to make friends. Even though he fails miserbably at most things, he probably puts in more effort than most people and has an unbreakable will. When he's pushed to his limits, his true potential shines, he just has to learn how to tap into it.

Backstory:
A native of the capitol, Sonny was born into a family of artisans in the lower ring. Sonny was the only child of the small family of commonerrs, they knew their lives would become more difficut with another mouth to feed but they treated his birth as a blessing. His parents doted on him at a young age and had high hopes that he too would pick up a talent like they did. His mother Natalia is a skilled seamstress and his father Lionel is a renowed sculptor. Natalia and Lionel were sure their bundle of joy would excel in some type of profitable trade, however when it became apparent he had an unfortunate knack for screwing things up, those dreams were quickly dashed.

Just before turning 14, Sonny started to display signs of having an aptitude for magic. While his two parents were unable to afford proper tutoring, Natalia wrote to her mother for advice on how Sonny could hone his skills. Although she had no magical abilities of her own, his grandmother did possess something that would prove invaluable. One day a small dog arrived at the Everclear's doorstep and strapped to his back was a worn and weathered tome. The ancient tome Sonny carries is the one his grandmother sent him. Before his death, Sonny's grandfather had given his grandmother instructions on what to do with it. Inside was a note explaining how delighted she was to see that there would finally be some use for the old thing.

Sonny began to realize that the more he learned from the book and the more his abilities increased. Not only that, the physical appearance of the book was changing as well. Slowly, the book seemed to reverse its age and at this point in his studies, even gives of a faint pulsing glow. After teaching himself much of the book, he was finally confident enough to leave his parents behind and apply to the academy. All his life he had been nothing but a screw up but he wants nothing more than to repay his family and honor his grandfather by becoming a successful mage.

Well given that both are mages, and it's 3 mages / 3 knights per party I reckon one will be in Party 1 and another will be in Party 2. None the less, I might change her skills so they're more personal tanking than support. I had been planning on doing so anyway.

  • Nice Execution!
Reactions: Warm Regret
Name: Marvus Senswane-Dale

Age: 17

Gender:
Male

Appearance: Marvus is a Male of around 5ft and 10 inches in height, his body stature is rather thin not a malnourished stage but lacks the weight males of his age could be expected to have.

His hair is a deep black and kept cut short of only a couple of inches and does not cover his ears, his eyes are a grey white in colouration.

Class: Mage

Weapon(s) and Equipment:
Sword - Marvus makes use of a Sword in combat, specificly a hand and a half sword so that he can revolve between using it one handed and two handed depending on the circumstance.

Armour - Marvus doesn't wear robes out in the field preferring to wear a lighter and an outfit that can be more easily used to move in.

Element: Storm - Lightning

Combat Info: Marvus
is trained in close combat due to his family line, much of the magic he can use revolves around being close to what he is fighting, he uses his lightning to either close range or to strike an enemy with a few devastating rapid attacks.

Marvus's Common Spells:
Quickcast - Short Range - Pulse : Marvus generates a short range high current lightning pulse designed to stun or knockback an opponent, it is cast using somatic motions, using two fingers creating a circle before connecting both top and bottom with a line and pushing through it with his fist.

Non-Combat Info:
Cooking - Marvus is rather capable at the preparation of food.
Noble Etiquette - Marvus knows the Etiquette expected from a noble of his rank.
Educated - Marvus is educated and enjoys reading and learning.
Sword Play - Marvus has training in the use of Swords.
Identification - Marvus can identify herbs and other materials that can be used in cooking.

Backstory: Marvus is a child from a noble line though only a minor one the Senswane family is that of one of the Baronies of Belgrave, though he is the child of that of one of the branch families and thusly that of a Baronet, his mother one of the more expendable members of the family being a middle daughter of the family, his Father was a Knight of a Peasant family with the surname of Dale, though he proved himself well enough to be able to marry into a Noble family though it was mainly due to circumstance and that there was a more expendable member of the family to marry him to, thus bringing the Young Man of the Dale family into the Knight Lineage of the Senswane's.

It was sometime later that Marvus would be born to the pair, though he was heavily trained in the art of the sword, Marvus lacks much of the ability of that of a Knight lacking most of the physical strength and stamina that would be required for that of a Knight, though he showed more premise in the Art's of Knowledge and Research, Marvus would be sent to the Belgrave Royal Military Academy as one of the Mage Profession, though mainly due to the wealth that his parent's still held than that of the interest of the Senswane's.

Marvu's Life Prior to the Academy:
Marvus's life was reasonably more humble than that many a noble, Baronet's are incredibly minor especially of those whom are married into the families from a peasant bloodline, though he had only a little contact with his father whom was often deployed to deal with beasts when required as would be required by those whom were members of such families to protect and maintain there lands.

His Mother lacked any powers herself and thus was a heavily expendable member of the Senswane Bloodline, in the household it lacked a love as per say, such a thing could be expected of someone whom was married off, she did at least take care of her child as would be expected of the Senswane's though support from the main family faded when there was no more children from the two and Marvus due to being fairly weak even when he was born, over time lacked the growth and ability to become a Knight of the Senswane's, though he had magical potential it was not of that which the Senswane's wished.

As he aged he was trained by his father when he was around learned some swordplay as he aged, though much of the time he found himself studying or writing ledgers as he was more heavily taught through copying and observing his mother, he picked up more aspects of home-care and treatment than many men would.

While he wasn't with his Mother or Father and wasn't studying, he would be around the few servant's that his parent's had for there pocket of land and spent time around them siphoning knowledge about herbs and the like that could be used for many different situations be it in cooking or light herbal medical treatment.
Are you sure you want to make this character a mage? He's likely to get cut up pretty quick.

Yeah it occurred to me he seemed more like a knight with a relatively limited spell set.

Name: Ashelia Blackhammer
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Class: Knight
Weapon(s) and Equipment
Note: (While her weapon load depends on the mission these are a few of her preferences)
Halberd: A standard halberd, hardened via enchantment with earth and fire magic for extra durability and to handle magics being channeled through it.

Gauntlets, Clawed: Her gauntlets have claws on the end, giving them a dragon-like appearance. They are sharp enough to slash through lesser armors such as leathers and mail with relative ease.

Scimitar: A curved blade used for quick strikes in a slashing rather than thrusting manner.

Buckler: Much a weapon in its own right as well as a shield. The primary use of this is for parrying. It has been customized with a quick release strap should it become stuck.

Daggers, Star Knives: Either used for throwing or combat where hand to hand combat would be more appropriate.

Hand Crossbow, Repeating: A one handed crossbow that will fire up to five bolts before being reloaded. These bolts can be imbued with magics or customized for specific prey.

Plate Mail: Enchanted armor that is built for durability and to channel her magic more effectively to reinforce against strikes. This armor is painted black and red.

Element
Fire

Combat Info
While she is mostly adept in the physical arts she keeps a handful of "spells" in her repertoire to augment her physical capabilities. Most of them are rudimentary buffs and support magic with her "Dragon Breath" being an exception.

Choking Flames: By causing the temperature to rise she can cause the area around her to be difficult to breathe in. She control who it effects to some extent, but the distance usually isn't so great that it extends greater than thirty feet in an open area.

Dragon's Endurance: She causes her skin to grow rough like a dragon's scales. During this time her strength and endurance are enhanced until her mana reserves start to run low.

Dragon's Blood: When her blood has been drawn she can fly into a rage. Closing her wounds and enter a tranquil state of combat, although she can only maintain this for a short while before adverse side effects start happening.

Dragon Breath: What it says on the label. She can let loose a spout of flames in a cone for a short distance. It can be particularly damaging to unarmored foes and things that are not so resistant to flames.

Non-Combat
Blacksmithing: Ashelia in her spare time likes to smith things and learn how to work with metal. This helps her in maintaining her armor and assisting others in the field with temporary repairs.

Engineering: Ashelia likes to study the way things are built in order to better understand things. She enjoys this deeply as a way to relax after her self-imposed intensive combat drills.

Backstory
When Ashelia was young she was a typical commoners child. While her mother was a well respected smith and father an engineer they never earned much station above servants for whoever happened to be ruling the land at the time. This never bothered her much. She knew she would never rise higher on the path she was headed down, but she was happy and that's what counts, right?

Dark days finally found her as did the rest of the border town. Raiders hit the town fast and hard leaving it a smoking husk. Fortunately for her she was on a delivery at the time and thus safe from the attack within the lord's estate until the attack was put down by a squad of knights. Since then she has enlisted in the academy to learn to defend and fortify places without dedicated protectors.
She likes to say her story isn't complicated and really to her it isn't. Life happens and one either rises to that challenge or falls under the pressure. She takes a particular joy in combat and besting classmates in duels.

Personality
She isn't the most honorable sort most of the time and rarely gives her word to anyone, but when she does she means every word of it. She isn't particularly heroic on the surface either and usually comes off as aloof when dealing with others. Her tact can also be lacking at times, which doesn't bother her all that much. She has few friends because of this, but would rather be seen as reliable and competent anyways.

There's the rough draft version. I will go in and pretty up, but I wanted to get all the essential information up for you to review first.

I think it's one element per character, so you'd have to choose either fire or earth.

Masochistic Rage: A passive discipline of the Dragonbreath style. As the user takes damage, their endurance and damage output will both increase. The more damage the user takes, the more they deal and the less further attacks do to them. If the user is healed, their damage output and resistance falls by the same amount.
For a short time, when the target deals damage, the target will regain health equal to 20% of the damage dealt and the user will gain health equal to 10% of the damage dealt.
Anchor: The user cannot move while this ability is channeling. The ability will fade if channeling stops. While channeling, all enemies cannot attack anyone but the user. If they attempt to attack another target, they will be bitch-slapped by a giant invisible hand. Cannot be replicated.
Heavenly Dragon's Champion: The user's staff transforms into an ethereal spear and they gain an ethereal shield. WIP, ran out of time.

Backstory: What happened in your character's childhood, and how/why did they enroll at the Academy?
I'll let you keep working on this character's backstory, but I have problems with 3 techniques.

Masochistic Rage is something I would classify as a Darkness technique. Further, this is something I would only allow on a Knight character.

Lifelink is another one I'd classify as Darkness due to it needing to deal damage to heal. The easiest fix I could see would be to have her take a percentage of the target's damage instead, although for a mage that wouldn't be something I'd recommend.

Anchor I'm afraid I'm going to have to declare as flat-out broken. An acceptable version would be having a spell that creates illusions of herself or a teammate, as illusions are well within the purview of both Water and Light.

Doh! I just finished my character and he has similar abilities as Karakui's character >_< Since I just did all that work, I'll post him anyway and see what happens >_<; :

Okay, so to balance healing, just so you know, if you want to heal efficiently, it's going to be a gradual channel. You can insta-heal wounds with a quick cast or an incantation, but it's going to be very draining on your mana reserve, so doing that should be a pinch move. Water and Light are the elements that can heal (At least in the traditional sense).

Second, keep in mind certain effects aren't considered status effects and can't be removed (Also zombification isn't really a thing.) Also, light is better for curing effects inflicted magically, water excels at curing burns and purging toxins inflicted through physical means, be it inhalation or entering through the bloodstream, etc. Again, it's a matter of MP efficiency. Also, spells that for example, create a gas or a flower that scatters pollen are still considered physical means.

For his reflection move, just keep in mind it isn't going to be an instant reflection, they'll have a chance to dodge their own attack.

She isn't particularly heroic on the surface either and usually comes off as aloof when dealing with others. Her tact can also be lacking at times, which doesn't bother her all that much. She has few friends because of this, but would rather be seen as reliable and competent anyways.
It is going to be only one element, I'm afraid. An effect like magma would be the result of a combination spell. I'll suggest based on her hobbies that fire might be more appropriate for her, but I leave the choice up to you.

Well you'll need to work out or edit part of the spells/techniques depending on which element you choose.

And of course also keep in mind she won't be super-skilled with her weapons in exchange for having such a huge arsenal.

But other than that, everything looks ok.

1. - Okieday, I edited that ability a bit.

2. - No Zombification? lol I kinda liked that word... Ok so I think this one may be a little tricky for me. The physical ones seem easy enough to understand but can you give me a few examples of what a magically inflicted status effect might be? Seems like maybe I should just scrap this ability for another one.

3. - Yup, no problem! ^_^

Edits complete to specification. Any further changes will simply be formatting.

It would be like if someone with Lightning cast a paralysis spell versus if someone applied a paralyzing agent to a blade and cut you.

Anyways, approved.

Center Stage is fine as long as it's PvE.

As for her backstory, doesn't really require but a minor edit, but citizens or towns make requests/complaints to locally stationed (full-fledged) knight. The serious requests or those that may require some kind of investigation then get sent up the chain of command and can find their way to a local garrison or back to the capital. Some of those that are deemed appropriate may get sent to the school to assign to students as a training mission. So there's no need to "game" the system, so to speak. (Not sure if that's wat you meant, that's just kind of how I read it.

Also, I'm still trying to balance exactly how I want the religion to be represented and how it figures in with the creation mythology. I know I want the cathedral in the upper ring to be dedicated to the Goddess of the Dawn (Still don't know the name for her yet). There ARE eastern-themed shrines and shrine priests and all that, I had already put that in. But I think I'd like them to be dedicated to local/regional/magical spirits, so if you said Sun Spirit, that'd be better. (Multiple spirits for the same things can exist, too)

If you're okay with all that, then she's approved.

I wasn't sure how you wanted to do mission requests, so I left it pretty vague.

As for the religion, it'd be a pagan thing, but it's also the only 'god' who has an actual physical form associated with it, so it has quite a lot of pilgrims among people who don't actually worship it or believe it's a deity but just admire it's power. Any given god can have numerous physical representations, so it makes more sense to me that people would think it's the incarnation of a god they already believe in than some kind of niche spirit. The creature itself is definitely a sun spirit, but the general populace think it's the incarnation of the sun god.
