The situation got out of hand, which it was at all times. With the dead roaming the streets, and closing in on both Hayley and the stranger, the latter stood up, seemingly good enough to be able to walk and run on his own. The brunette looked around her and was eager to get the hell out of there.
The stranger grabbed her hand and told her to run. Hayley couldn't have agreed more, as she simply nodded and instinctively ran behind him until they were far enough from the dead. This really felt like deja vu. But, it was a temporary solution, but they were still outside, on the streets. The rain was not letting up, and by now Hayley was pretty much drenched, just like the stranger before him. The new stranger told her to follow suite, and judging by his expression, it was probably to find a place to hole up in until the rain was done.
However, to wherever they ran to, there was a fire station there. The garage doors were closed. Hayley was standing behind the stranger, confused and nervous. She couldn't help but notice the bruises on his body from the fall earlier. If anything, they were more or less like a burn injury. On his hands, and his arms.
Once they finally got inside, it was surprisingly quiet. Fire trucks were inside, and the place seemed abandoned. The man before her quickly removed his yellow coat, while Hayley walked up next to one of the windows to look outside. Breathing heavily for a moment or two, she turned around, before she ended up doin the same. Running her fingers through her wet hair, the brunette took of her short sleeved cardigan and placed it on one of the truck mirrors.
Hayley really needed to get out of her wet clothes. Though her attention was quickly swooped up by the stranger when he spoke up, talking about the unfortunate encounter they had with one another. "Yeah, that was a close one. It would have been much worse if you'd have crashed into me. Fortunately, I was able to notice you before that happened.." Somewhat annoyed by how things were panning out for her, she was not done speaking.
"I mean, you should keep your eyes on the road, really.." Hayley was curious as to what exactly distracted the man or how he didn't notice her. A moment passed and she clearly noticed that his injuries needed to be tended. They were inside a firehouse, so there had to be some sort of medical supplies there.
"We should take a look around. See if there is something we can find to.." The woman nodded towards the stranger. "Take care of your injuries." Hayley still felt somewhat guilty for what had happened, if anything she'd help tend his injuries before splitting up. The woman did not really have a reason to stay with the man, and most of it was thanks to Clyde.
Walking to the other side of the big garage, there was a door the lead deeper inside the fire house. The woman slowly opened the door up and kept her head behind while peeking through with her eyes. Hayley knocked on the door once or twice to see if there were any walkers around. If they'd jump at her like they did Jackson back in the apartment building.
"Come on.." She turned to her side, looking at the stranger. Once she walked inside, there was a kitchen. Though the entire place was a mess. Tables and chairs were all over the place. There was even some blood on the floor. Doors were knocked down, or broken. It was almost as if the entire place was looted. Things were not looking well for them.
Her hands were on her hip, as she pondered at the situation before her. There wa a map of the firehouse loosely hanging on the wall. "Let's take a look..." She curiously added, her brown eyes squinting ever so slightly. Walking up to it, she was able to notice that there were beds in a hall, showers, lockers and so on etc.
Hayley could really use a shower. Perhaps the water was still working. Turning around, her gaze was on Edwyn. "At least they got showers here." A slightly but serious expression was plastered on her face, before she walked over and around the kitchen counter.
"I need a change of clothes.. I could really use a shower!..." Hayley was definetely going to check out the showers later on.
It was more like a cafeteria connected to the kitchen. Almost all of the food was gone, but that wasn't exactly what she was looking for. She wanted to find medical supplies. To disinfect his injuries. To numb his pain, so he was good to go sooner, rather than later.
She found a small bag with bandages, a small scissor, and a white towel. 'Hmm, this could work..' The brunette thought to herself.
"Hey!" She slightly exclaimed, so her voice could reach the stranger. Walking back past the counter, she approached the man standing infront of her. "You need to put some cold water on your hands. Follow me, I can help tend to your injuries. I could at the very least do that."
Hayley was indirectly talking about the crash and his unfortunate landing. The stranger may have been confused by her nature all of a sudden, or her personality, though Hayley was just as much confused as to why she was going to such lengths for someone she just met. His injuries were even small. They were only first-degree burns.
The young brunette pulled a chair next to the water faucet in the kitchen. "Come on, take a seat."
