Radiation Poisoning

V looked away from the monster cat, "Jumped." It stood up and stepped off the roof, falling to the ground it landed on one foot, and slowly straightened. "It will be getting dark soon," the sun was high in the sky, "we should get inside." It turned toward the house and changed its stance, spreading its legs and raising its hands up into fists, punching the wall it knocked a large portion of it into rubble. "This should suffice, though if more class threes come," it shrugged.

"Uh... but it doesn't look like it will be dark soon..." Mira said, looking at the sky.

V nodded, "The wind though, there is something coming." There were no clouds, but the wind was very gradually picking up, V wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for its animally mutated senses. "Something big." Even as it spoke the wind had picked up enough to play with their hair.

Storms were much worse post-apoc, and being able to detect them soon was a blessing. V ducked into the building, storm clouds were gathering far on the horizon. There was some racket inside the house then a large board covered the hole.

She looked at V and followed. He was probably good for survival, or so she thought.

V moved the board out the way after seeing that it fit over the hole. It reached out and grabbed the bear carcass then dragged it into the hole. The clouds were rapidly filling the skies, the stench of harsh chemicals drifting on the wind. "Come in when you want, though try to get in before I close it up for good." V disappeared into the darkness of the hole.

She was reluctant but she went in. She didn't like the dark, but it was more than likely worth it to go in.

Like V, Kit could tell a storm was coming. The wind had shifted and picked up enough to mess with her hair and Kila's fur. She looked over at V and Mira and saw that they were walking into a hole in the house beside them. She didn't hesitate. Kit stood up and calmly walked inside, Kila in her arms.

Mira yawned. It had been a long day and her energy was sapped. She layed down in a cat-like position and fell asleep.

V looked outside the hole, it couldn't see Tank so it shrugged. On the inside the only light was coming from the hole, which V quickly blocked with the board. V looked around inside, it could see much better in the dark than regular people, and it didn't make much of a difference to it how much light there was. V started moving some heavy things in front of the blocked hole. The sound of rain pattered on the roof, poisonous caustic rain. V sat down next to the entrance, there were some doors leading out of the room which it faced.

Inside the room was a bed, torn sheets and no pillow of course, a dresser which was pushed against the board, and some clothes and miscellaneous items strewn across the floor. Outside it was getting darker, the sky almost completely filled with black clouds. The wind was strong enough to wipe away anything with no foundation. This was just the calm before the storm.

Mira was a heavy sleeper, but if she ever heard thunder whilst sleeping, she'd be up and hiding. Her tail wagged in her sleep, and she whimpered, due to her dream, though you could hardly hear the whimpering.

Kit didn't like the fact that V covered up the whole before he warned them. She turned in the direction the hole had been and saw V, the board, the bear, and a dresser. Kit, being a fox demon, was able to see quite well in the dark. Kila was the same since she was a car demon. Kit sighed softly and heard sudden whimpering. She turned her head to the source to see Mira and smiled. She set Kila down. "Go comfort her." She whispered. Kila purred once and rubbed up against Kit's leg before running over to Mira and laying down by her arms. Kit chuckled slightly then turned to V. "How long do you think it will last?" She asked, slightly worried.

She continued sleeping, but her whimpering stopped and she became completely quiet.

The eyes on V's hoodie glowed softly in the dark, it turned to look at Kit, "Probably until night. Its moving slowly, and I don't think it is natural. Someone's mutant power." V purred, "I've felt this before, this power. I'll be moving on once it passes, what follows isn't too pleasant." V was silent for a while.

"What sort of powers do you have?"

((I'm gonna commandeer this roleplay until I hear otherwise from the GM.))

Mira jerked awake, suddenly remembering it's dark, she sat there, scared. "U- uh... do w- we have any lights?" She asked.

V turned to look at Mira, "Well electricity has been out for near ten years now, unless one of you has a lamp... I'd say no."

She made a sort of moan-whine. She absolutely hated the dark. "Okay th- then..."

Kit nodded slowly. The storm would be over at night so they'd be having a sleepover in the house. Grand. She sighed softly then looked up at V when it asked her what her powers were.

"That's a rather strange question to ask a demon."

She told him but smiled. Before Kit answers she heard the soft and scared voice of Mira. She turned her gaze to her and smiled.

"Don't worry. Once the morning comes the light will come back. But we better stay alert. I'll take first watch."

She said, her voice slightly serious. Whenever darkness took over the world the Hirobods came up from the ground and took unexpecting people to their hidden lair and the next night they would devour them. Kit sat down where she was. Kila leaped into Mira's lap and made a sound that sounded like a mix of someone sighed heavily and a cat purring. It was her Strange Sound.

V laughed, "Demon? I thought you were a fox? Though really your a mutant. Maybe you ran out of medication..." V reached into one of its pockets and pulled out a black bottle. It unscrewed the top and took out a small purple pill. "Take this and you will hold onto to your mind a little longer."

Outside the house the storm was at full power. Winds ripped across the ground, lifting anything and everything into the air and battering it against trees and walls. Strange things were in the darkness and rain. Hulking shadows with glowing eyes, monstrous growls. Class threes, and many of them.

A single class two was braving the storm, it had been granted a mutant ability of minor elemental control. It held its hands up creating a bubble of calmness around itself. All too soon though it learned that the storm was the least of its worries as a huge leathery hand broke through the bubble and smacked the mutant into the wind.

It was carried six yards to the side before another equally large, albeit more fleshy, hand knocked it to the ground. With a growl the class three raised its hands to crush the mutant, but a piercing noise made it stop and become docile. The class three turned away and continued walking through the storm.

After a few seconds of cowering, the storm passed over the second class. Replaced by sunlight and a large group of second class mutants walking behind it with their arms raised. They ignored the mutant, and walked past him, while an even larger number of mutant gathered around to look at him. They all wore black leather trench coats and stylized gas masks. They parted as a small, impish mutant scurried over to the second class.

"Well, well, well. You are not number five. We do not need you if you are not number five." The imp stood up and as small as it seemed it managed to tower over the men near it. It turned on the nearest masked man and picked him up with one hand around his neck. "IS THAT NUMBER FIVE?!" The imp had a high voice, squeaky, grating, and very angry. The man, though he obviously had over a hundred pounds on the small creature, shook his head vigorously obviously terrified. "So you knew?" The voice was a whisper as the imp leaned intimately close to the man's ear. A slight nod in response.

The motion was intimate and slow. The imp's hand grabbed the back of the man's skull, and his chin. Then with a swift, brief movement and a sharp crack, the imp twisted the man's skull around one-hundred eighty degrees. As fast as the body fell the imp returned to his impish crouched posture, again looking entirely small. He turned to the now very frightened class two, "We just got a job opening, do you want to live?"

"Y-yes. Yes! I want to live."

"Too bad we don't need you. You are not number five." With a nod the other mutants, the one in masks, closed in on the man as his screams rose. The imp disappeared amidst the fray, but his voice could be heard saying, "Where are your number five, we can't finish or experiments without you."
