Robert grunted as he was, well, fished out of the water, rescued thanks to the quick thinking of some of the others. Perhaps it would have been safer to stay in the well, but it all worked out in the end, didn't it? Nodding to Sherry, he gave her a smile.

"Ha! That was some quick thinking! Didn't even have time to think much myself." It wasn't like him to be so jolly, especially considering the circumstances, but brushing with death gave one a certain thrill. It burned inside Robert, emboldening him further. "Anyway..."

His expression hardened and he looked down at the coin he'd grabbed to examine. He wondered if it had any importance, considering what it took to grab it. Even if it meant nothing at all, the act of grabbing it gave it some kind of value. Just like... a battle scar.

After that, Robert looked around to examine the mainland. "There's probably a lot worse lurking in these waters than man-eating fish. Let's get off this island."

"Awfully bright for someone who came close to death, aren't you?" The Vampire remarked dryly whilst cleaning his blade on his sleeve. "Do you also have experience with near death, then, Witch Hunter?"
The singing seemed to have been echoing all around them so they would have a hard time pin pointing down a location. However in the fog to the right of them they could see something shining bright in the distance even managing to get through the thick black mist.

The ax got embedded at the man's side which seemed to impede the attack. At the same time he didn't seem too bothered by it as he swung with his arm towards Ethan to knock him to the ground.

Grell was slowly but surely able to open the trap, but it was going to take a bit before Queen's leg was finally free.

"We're not going to leave until Seishen's out of that well." Sherry responded. "After that we can finally get the hell off this island." With most of them helping out they'd manage to get Seishen out of the well. "Now we can head off, I'll take point." Sherry replied making her way over the other bridge.

Soon enough they'd be back on dry land and spot something new.

As they moved that way, he kept his blade ready. "Try to be more careful with this one." Vlad looked right at Robert and Seishin as he spoke, his tone only half-joking.
"Fuckin goody two shoes..." Chucky muttered before the group made their way further into the island, eventually coming across some run down barn.

"Good job, you got outta the fuckin' well." Chucky replied before looking back down at Seishen.

"Maybe the fucked up man eating fish will at least kill him..."
Chucky said aloud, hoping that he'd see at least some carnage on this island, even if he wasn't the one causing it.

Seishin cut some of the cloth of his yukata with his knife for just a bit more mobility before he would use the rope to climb out of the well. Once out he'd wring out his sleeves a bit and clean off his glasses.

"Thanks." he said with a small nod to Simon, and those who helped, completely ignoring Chucky's little comment, and moved on with the rest.

A barn? A shaggy one, which wasn't too surprising. Sighing as he heard Chucky speak he went in with the rest. He partially regretted going this way, but there was no point in complaining much, since that doll wasn't going anywhere. Unless he got seperated from them, or worse.

Simon nodded, even managing a small smile when Seishin thanked him after getting out of the well, thankful that Sherry had decided to wait for Seishin before they continued. Fortunately, Robert seemed to be doing okay too after that... Piranha thing attacked.

"We have to take care of each other if we want to survive this place..." He said.

Giving Chucky a quick side glance with his comments, he frowned a little.

"All of us do..." He added.

After that though, he moved onwards with the others... But slowed his pace when he reached the barn. While he did continue towards the structure, he gripped his knife tightly and proceeded with caution, looking around for any other threats and/or structural weaknesses that may be present.

Kuro didn't seem to be bothered with what was going on at the time. But at the same time, he felt like he had to help out. But Kuro felt like he was unable to use any of his moves. He tried to make an extension using his hidden shadow in his disguise, but couldn't muster the strength for it.

And, for whatever reason that Kuro didn't realize, Kuro lept at the mysterious man, intending for the man to hit Kuro's disguise to cover for Ethan.

"It's natural for us to wish to do things we have never experienced in our lives before," Jack simply replies, "have you ever wished to do something you have missed out on in your youth, or do you just let it pass and never explore it again, Chucky?"

Robert managed to reach the shoreline just in time as what was chasing after him leaped up and bit down on his leg.

monster_fish_6003_grande.jpg

It was a hideous looking fish with long sharp teeth. If Robert didn't think of something fast or someone came to help then it was clear that it could use its size and strength to pull Robert back underwater. "Robert!" Sherry had noticed him resurface and the fish attack and was making her way to try and help him, but with no weapons on her she wasn't quite sure how she'd do that.

Grell did not have to wait any longer. From the other end of the clearing another figure emerged.

Dbd-killer-chuckles-large.png

A hulking behemoth of a man he'd with heavy steps make his way towards the group. Passing by Kyle the man stopped before raising his giant boot and slamming down on the cat boy's head . He died instantly. With that out of the way he turned his attention back towards the group, specifically the ones that were gathered around Queen.

The only thing they could hear was heavy breathing as he clutched the cleaver in his hand and continued his way towards them.

Vlad looked up at the commotion. He had a few options, of course, but the same part of him that urged him to help the Empire against the forces of Chaos spurred him onwards now. In long, bounding strides, he sprinted towards the endangered Robert, and, with only the briefest moment of considering this a bad idea, dived in. Knife raised, he attempted to stab it into the creature, making sure to cone at an angle so that he was stabbing away from Robert.

"Guh!"

Ethan stumbled onto his back as the behemoth seemed able enough to swat him like a fly, the ax being dragged along with Ethan as well, as he kept his hand tightly gripped around the handle. This beast was clearly no man, and more monster than human, to be able to shrug it off so easily. Still, he'd faced stranger and stronger creatures before, and though he had less to work with now, he was nothing if not adaptable.

Attempting to scramble to his feet and gathering his bearings again, Ethan lifted up his ax and made no hesitation this time to go for the kill, swinging right at the strange man's neck for a decapitation!

Penny stared at the not-as-amusing-as-Bray-one and sighed. If you keep tugging on me, I might do something to your hands so that you'll never tug anything again... Because Penny, after all, wasn't here to make friends. Or enemies. He was here because for some goddamn reason, he was. He'd tried leaving, hadn't gotten him anywhere. And you strike me as the sort that just looooooves to tug

A thousand different thoughts spiraled through Queen's head when she would feel the teeth of the bear trap clamp into the flesh of her leg. Yet, her first prominent thought--as a perfectionist--was... why wasn't I more careful? A quick scream enveloped the girls lungs before she would tumble onto the ground, dirt and grass sticking to her face before she would sit up. Her hands shook as she reached for her legs, wincing when she would see the trap encasing her leg. The world seemed to spin around her as she rested her reddish brown eyes on the sight, and a ring in her ears seemed to prevent her from hearing what any of the others were saying at first.

She looked up, however, to see Delsin and Grell leaving her behind. I knot twisted in her gut. Weren't they supposed to be a team? She wanted help, but maybe that was selfish of her. Maybe it would be best if more of them got to safety. Any such thoughts she had on the matter were cut off, however, when she would view the sight of the monster killing Kyle. She gasped, feeling her heart start to race within her chest. They were in real danger here, and she couldn't move. Suddenly, she realized just how much trouble they were in.

That was when she spotted Grell come back to help her. Queen held her breath, attempting to help Grell. "I don't know if I can-- It's no good--" she breathed deeply, eyes fluttering shut. "If you can't get it open, just get out of here. I-I'll be okay," she stuttered, shooting a frantic look to Joker. "You too. I won't make you wait here with me." The girl gritted her teeth, biting her tongue to hold back another shout. Hot tears stung in her eyes. "I... love you," she mumbled to him. "Tell my sister the same thi-- AHH!" The girl felt her fingers slip, her fingers digging into the bear trap.

The only thought that ran through Joker's mind as he heard that scream was a single plea. Not like this, it doesn't end like this. He wasn't leaving her here, not to suffer alone. Without even thinking, he joined Grell and the Devil in trying to open the trap, putting all his strength into pulling the jaws apart. This wasn't how she or any of them were going to die, not in this godforsaken forest, not if he had anything to say about it.

"Don't talk like that, dammit!" He barked, all jovial hijinks forgotten as he worked as frantically as possible. He wasn't going to leave her here, no matter what Grell or that strange devilish figure did or what she said to him. "A thief never gives up if there's a chance at escape..." He frantically muttered, hoping to calm both of them a little as he tried his hardest. If there was no chance of escape...

Then Sae could wait to hear Makoto's declaration of love till they met in whatever afterlife awaited them. He wasn't going to let Queen face this alone, not if he could help it.

Theo was finding Not Bray just as annoyed as Bray, but in a different way. " I'm assuming that was your attempt at a veiled threat, but honestly, it wasn't veiled very well and you don't know a damn thing about me. Besides, I think I know which one of us will win in a fight. Hint- it won't be you. Just because I can't use claws or have supernatural strength doesn't mean I can't hurt you. You don't make want to murder you as much as Bray, so let's go to the shiny object, see what it was, get out of this fucking mess, if Bray dies, well, so be it. You really don't want to get on my bad side. Let's just say that I'm not opposed to "accidents." He ignored Penny's comment on loving to tug.

If Grell wasn't so busy trying to pry this damned bear trap open, she would be rolling her eyes at Queen's painfully pathetic display. "Oh no, go on without me!" Ha! I wish! And cutting her fingers on the trap only made Queen look worse.

"We simply can't leave without you, dear," Grell grunted as she continued to pull on the trap. Literally-this bunch of mortals seemed incapable of moving on without her, even with this monstrous oaf attacking. Grell would be happy to leave, too, but without her usual power and weapon, she needed to team up with the people here-and stay on their good side in case she ended up in the same situation Queen was in.

Good deeds were exhausting. After this little nightmare, she would be taking a long break from them.

Oh god, her ankle felt like it was on fire.

Queen tightened every muscle she could manage to help fight back the pain in her leg; her face turned red when she would tense as hard as she could possibly could. It was honestly one of the most painful things she had ever felt before, the cold metal compressed into her leg with so much pressure that it was surely even pressing into the bone, and she had experienced quite a lot of hurtful sensations before during her time as a thief.

But no, she couldn't allow herself to focus on such things. Not while Grell, the Devil creature, and now Joker had joined in on trying to free her from the jaws of the trap. They hadn't abandoned her, so perhaps they were a team after all. They could do this; they had to. She realized she couldn't talk them out of it, so all she could do was mutter a grateful yet raspy, "Thank you," when Grell would say that they weren't going to leave her. She was relieved, and honestly didn't want to be left behind.

The girl looked to Joker when he would shout at her not to give up, her watery eyes fixated on him as he would work to help free her from the trap. "You're... right," she mumbled to Joker, grunting between words. It was difficult to even focus on speaking with how how strong the sensation of pain was. "A thief never gives up, but..." The girl winced, having to pull her hands back when she would feel her own strength giving out. "...a thief is also... always prepared," she said, solemnly.

Telling those she cared for how she felt wasn't something Queen did often, and she regretted it. So, although she didn't want to give up, she had to be prepared and make sure Joker and her sister knew that she loved them... just in case she didn't make it out of this. Even if they could free her, there was still the chance something attacked her before they could finish. Or if the couldn't free her for some reason, she would yet again encourage them to leave. As much as she didn't want them to leave, she would have to be practical if it came down to that.

Taking a shaky breath, Queen yet again attempted to help the others free herself from the trap only moments after breaking. With a pale, sweaty face, shaking hands, and shallow breathing, she looked (and felt) as if she were about to pass out from taking on so much pain. Oh, but she was a tough girl. This wasn't over. Joker wasn't done, the others weren't, and neither was Queen.

The man had no interest in conversation nor cared who was going to be his next victim. His only response was to raise his cleaver reading to swing at Numahime when he closed in.

"Guess not," Numahime continued talking as she shuffled backwards, though Ethan stepped in for her anyway. She would've just called it a day at that and probably run away with the others, but it seemed the priority for now was to get Queen out. It was sort of like playing chess, except the Queen was the King.

Well, nothing she couldn't work with. Considering there were already too many people on Queen, there wasn't really anything she could contribute there. On the other hand, fighting a large, cleaver-wielding man who'd taken an axe to the side when she had no abilities or weapons would be ridiculous. So rather than trying to engage him head on, Numahime attempted to find a rock, stick, tree branch, tree bark. Something she could throw while staying in relative safety.

If successful in finding anything, she'd launch it at the man's body.

Chucky paused for a moment upon hearing Vlad's comment, seeming to actually be thinking about it.

"Good point. Better to have more people helping us instead'a trying to murder our asses, I guess." Chucky finally replied, though he still had to fight the urge to strangle one of these "allies" or whatever Vlad wanted to call them.

The vampire answered with a genuinely tickled chuckle. "What a colorful way to put it. Amusing."

"It's natural for us to wish to do things we have never experienced in our lives before," Jack simply replies, "have you ever wished to do something you have missed out on in your youth, or do you just let it pass and never explore it again, Chucky?"

Jack decides to take a good listen into the dark entrance of the barn before contemplating on whether to proceed or not.

"Yeah, when I was in the third grade some kid called me ugly. Wish I'd made him suffer longer before I slit his throat." Chucky said rather bluntly, making it rather hard to tell if he was serious or not.

"It's probably the Holy Spirit repreminding you for your fucked up fetish for getting pushed out the womb." Chucky replied dryly from the back with a snicker.

Yeah, Chucky wasn't letting this go anytime soon.

The vampire crouched down and lowered his voice, both to avoid distracting Jack, and tot avoid being heard by the rest of the group, except, perhaps, Rottytops, if she was still hanging around near him. "There is more to her wish than you or I know, Chucky, mein freund. Something... very, very dark. Darker than either of us, I believe, though that may be challenging for you to grasp. Watch her closely."

Theo Raeken

Theo growled, annoyed that there was no clear place. He, however he turned to his right and saw something shinning bright in the distance and headed towards it. He also gently tugged on an article of Penny's clothing. If the man didn't resist, he would use his normal strength to drag him along and to leave Bray behind and head towards the shiny object in the distance. He only needed one of them alive and the silent one was better than the loud abrasive Bray.

Moving along the trio realized it was getting harder to travel as the ground became more and more muddy. Soon enough though the mist cleared up and they could see something.

The house looked like it was going to fall at any second, yet a lone light shone through one of the windows for them to see.

The barn despite how it looked seemed to be safe to enter, nor could Simon see anything that seemed threatening at least for now.

The only thing Jack could hear was the silence filling the air. Not even crickets chirping was to be heard.

Came Sherry's response to the duo. Any alliance they were planning was going to be bad news to the other people in the group.

@Jeremi @Kaykay @Klutzy Ninja Kitty @Khan of the Mardu @Bomb @ThatAverageGuy @dark @Yun Lee @ForestGroup

The distraction was a success! Ethan was now free to hit the man in the neck and...! Much like the time that Ethan had hit the man at the side he didn't seem to care about the ax lodged in his neck. Instead he'd use his clever to slash at Kuro as he used his free hand to grab Ethan's throat in a vice like grip in an attempt to strangle him to death.

@Yun Lee @Verite @dark @ThatAverageGuy @Khan of the Mardu @Bomb @Jeremi @ForestGroup

The people coming to Queen's rescue was enough to snap open the bear trap off her leg! As you did that though you realized that the wound was far more serious then you might have originally suspected. The bone had been fractured and as the iron teeth were removed the wounds started to bleed even more. It was quite clear that Queen wasn't going to be able to walk with out some aid.

Numehime could see sticks and stones scattered around the area, she could also see freshly covered mounds where there no doubt was another bear trap hidden in the foliage.

Vlad's dark, empty eyes settled upon Sherry now. He did not look amused. Standing to his feet, Vlad stepped towards her, his towering height compounded by his decayed visage. "If we're being blunt, then, Frau Sherry, you would ordinarily be right to watch me, for, if I had my abilities, I would have no need for any of you, save those willing to work alongside or under me. That being said, I don't. None of us do. We need each other. I'm willing to admit to that, and commit to it, too, Frau Sherry. Are you?" He tilted his head back, looking down his non-existent nose at her, taking to his habit of beginning to pace around the woman as he spoke, like a hungry predator restraining himself from lashing out at potential prey. Perhaps that's what they looked like to him. "I will not die for you, but I will bleed on your behalf as long as you are willing to do the same on mine." Pausing as he stood nearer to Jack, the vampire scowled at her. "A monster I may be, but I have every intention of seeing that every member of this group goes home intact. Is that clear?"

Grell wasn't going to stick around to help Queen. She'd done her part where that little waif was concerned. Now Ethan was getting attacked, and she needed to help him out. After all...he was the best looking guy here. It'd be a waste for him to die! Plus...yeah, okay, he was the closest thing to a friend Grell had here. Even if she didn't feel attached to him like friends usually did, she did want to keep him around.

With the sticks laying around, Grell picked up the biggest one she could find and lit it on fire. Waving it around like a flag, she tried to get the man's attention, hopefully enough to at the very least loosen his grup on Ethan. "Over here, you filthy thing! Let him go, or I set your entire forest on fire!"

"That's what I've been saying from the beginning! But some of us has had a really hard time playing ball."
She emphasized that by glaring at Chucky. "If you're going to keep him on a leash and trying to get everyone rescued then we are on the same side here. Human, monster it's a team effort."

The Trapper didn't care for idle threats and still holding Ethan by the throat would swing him at Grell and her flaming stick.
