"This is likely a wait and see sort of scenario," Kieran said, his eyes scanning the environment. "We should just move as one and find a location to secure. Keep in mind, not all of us have powers... but like Makoto said, this isn't a bad thing. We're all strong in our own ways. We're all a part of the Coalition."

Makoto looked to Kyoko, for she had always been a source of guidance for him in the past. "Kyoko... Be careful, okay?" He knew she was mad at him, but he didn't want to see her in any sort of danger.
Bekka too would feel that she wasn't at full strength...but she wasn't going to tell anyone else here that. "So what are we waiting for? Are we going to continue to stand around like a bunch of idiots or are we actually going to do something?"
The aliens racist thoughts were caught off guard at the call of the Strike Team. In an instant, Deoxys appeared from the mist next to Lucifer and Saber, glaring at both of them.

"I am here."
"What the Amazonian said. I'm not happy with this sitting and waiting around garbage. What if we're the only units who can actually do something right now? Are we just going to sit on our asses till it's too late or something?"

With those bitter words spoken, the bartender decided to light a smoke to pass the time. Why not pass the time with one if it was just being wasted anyways?
What he could do, though, is look for some sort of shelter to regroup in, as Kieran had suggested. The pack needed to stay close, lest things get worse.
Well enough talking about it. They had enough people and if scouting was out of the question, they could act now at least.

"Alright then...Saber Alter? Best you lead- You won't have much trouble, not on home turf. Deoxys? Your powers don't seem entirely nulled- If anything out there stirs, we can use any advance warning we can get. Rest of us?"

He shrugged and spoke.

"Lets walk. And if anything comes at us, hit it with all we got."

And carefully, one hand pulling out a heavy revolver and the other producing black key handles between his fingers, Lucifer advanced carefully as he and Saber went looking for a shelter they could all get indoors safely.

At least for now. Was better then staying out in the open.

The fog rolled in and was thick. They were on silent earth?? Her eyes wide, partly in fear, partly in excitement. A rescue mission for Ilona.

She looked around the area. Where to go, who to ally with? Who would ally with her? There was too much at once it felt overwhelming for the usual one woman team of Piranha Queen. Hesitantly she spoke up, having been listening silently on the sidelinrs for some time. "E-excuse me." Her usual outgoing voice petered out from the fear of the dark air in this place. Something was wrong.

Makoto..he was probably the safest person to be around right now. With that thought in mind she approached the man and gave a light tug on his sleeve. "Excuse me..i may not be the strongest, but i don't really feel much different than before we ended up..wherever this is..do you mind if i tag along with you?? Safety in numbers and most of my power comes from training and my at..i'm certain i can be of use." Her voice was shrill and quiet, lacking confidence when she felt she had no friends nor allies to rely on or protect.

She was slowly regathering herself but the pieces were missing, an unsafe environment with no real team to rely on. It reminded her of the past before she came to the coalition. She didn't want to revisit those thoughts.

"Works with me."

With that said, Shizuo walked alongside Lucifer, still casually smoking as they hunted for shelter. A priest with swords, a woman dressed like a knight, and a tentacle alien; even when away from Ikebukuro, the people he met were always the weirdest.

"Well, thank you for the ride."

She grabbed onto his hand with her own, flapping her wings as she leaped up onto the strange demon thing. Despite its appearance, Remilia hardly seemed to mind the thing, instead emitting a kind of dominating aura over the demon. Though somehow, she felt a little weaker than usual...

Garthos didn't exactly dig the aura it felt coming from his latest passenger. It felt quite domineering in nature and Garthos had half a mind to knock this girl off his back. But given how affectionate Nemo seemed to be for her, he'd let it slide for now. As Garthos's flying brought them overhead of Saber Alter's group, Nemo looked back at Remila with the same red tinge to his cheeks as he worked out a smile.

"It's an honor to be able to fly with someone like you, Remila!"

As Astaroth flew alongside his fellow demon, he couldn't help but chuckle. Even in the midst of this bleak and depressing place Nemo couldn't help but scrounge around for the positives. Which in this case would be hanging out with that vampire girl.

"Yeah. Once we find Ilona, hopefully we'll also be able to get out of this hellhole before long. Really, I ought to just kill this world already, though... I wonder if I'd be able to even comprehend that much death," Shiki idly said, scratching the side of his head as he'd continue to look around. Not that there was much to examine. It was a dead world, with a dead environment. Normally, a place like this, his Mystic Eyes would probably be thriving. In a way, he was almost thankful for the mysterious fog for eroding away at the potency of his powers. In a place like this, ironically, he would probably die quicker without the fog.

All these years of abusing the eyes, and it was amazing how far he had come without having his brain explode, honestly.

"Still... It's funny. I can almost feel a sense of nostalgia with this place, despite all the tricks this world can pull into making one think that it's a different realm entirely. Even with the Arch Demon gone, I can still feel his presence around... though maybe all this time, what we thought was his personal aura was just his form teeming with malevolence. The things you can find out about someone, eh?" He inquired, taking a breath as he'd place his hand on his hip, "Sorry. I almost started rambling," Shiki would continue, clearing his throat.

"Are you... alright?"

@Kaykay
Sakuya's smile faltered a bit at his question, as if she'd been prodded in the side or something. The maid crossed her arms, her eyes downcast. As she'd used her powers as usual to approach, she'd noticed they seemed quite a bit weaker than usual.

tumblr_inline_mhkqptbxlB1r4ssbx.jpg

"Well, I'm unharmed. But there seems to be some sort of dampener within this fog, and that's been bugging me a little bit. Normally, I have all the time in the world, but if Miss Remilia is attacked in this condition, I don't know if I will be sufficiently capable. The presence you mentioned makes me imagine that this is not an unlikely scenario." She blinked before looking back up. Resuming her previous at ease expression, she laughed lightly under her breath. "No point worrying about what hasn't happened, though. How are you faring, Shiki?"

The maid turned to check on Remilia, only to see her on some sort of strange creature. What the heck was that? It probably wasn't a big deal.

...Probably.

"Seems like some folks ain't got full power. Hell guess that's why guys like me are around. Don't need none of them fancy powers to get my targets.." Black spoke up seeming to take pride in his skills since he has no powers.

tumblr_nojrg3DjFO1tywth9o1_1280.gif

"At the end of the day bullets'll usually take them down..." Black had spoken seeming unconcerned at all about what lies ahead. Speaking of he tried to recall just what he did last time.

"Sakuya and I were here at the same time but...we got separated... Guess I just started walkin' in the fog and found my way to another group...'fore them facehuggers showed up... Little bastards got everyone I think... Then came that damn dream world..." Black spoke recalling all the events he could remember.

Artyom snorted loudly when Train entered the conversation, great. Well, it wasn't that bad to be honest, he could live with Arty, besides, they had bigger problems to deal with right now. Artyom glanced down at the revolver in his hand and then thought about the weapons he had strapped to his back. They were probably fine, he was tempted to check just to make sure, but Train was right, there was no point to test the weapons out right now, it could attract some unwanted attention

Artyom suddenly looked up, he took a glance around, fog as far as the eye could

"Funny..this place reminds me of home"
"Funny. This place brings up some memories as well..." Mason had felt malevolence before, though not to the degree Silent Earth held. Malevolence was just another side to aura for him, and it was a side that he had plenty of experience with before joining the Coalition. In his family, in the universes he travelled through, and in himself. Sifting through memories of malevolence brought a small speck of darkness into his aura, one that could just be brushed away with a smile.

However, as the fog rolled towards them, blanketing them in malevolence, the aura pistol in his hand disappeared in a puff of smoke.

It seemed that even Mason's power couldn't stand up to the silent fog.
"Well, that's fantastic. Thanks again, Lady Luck. So, do either of you have an idea where the group could be?"

"If this place reminds you guys of home or memories, your memories or homes must've been pretty damn depressing--no offense," Train bluntly remarked, shrugging his shoulders. "But no, honestly I haven't the slightest clue as to where the others are at. Normally, I have very sharp senses. I can practically sense a pin dropping a mile away." Train was exaggerating a bit, but truthfully he he did have very above average senses. He had been an assassin, after all.

"But this fog is dulling my senses. This fog is..." Train paused to wipe a lock of hair out of his eyes, realizing it had stuck to his forehead from sweat. "I'm not gonna lie, this fog is making me feel a little dizzy. Let's hope we don't start hallucinating out here," he said, tensing his muscles. He didn't want something to happen that might cause him to lose focus. If he did, there was no telling what could happen.

Jak looked over at Stiles for a second before responding " My name is Jak. You can also call me Mar. Either or."

Just then, Scott had a asthma attack and it made Jak stop before frowning "Is your friend going to be alright?"
Stiles looked back at him. " Jak it is then. I was hoping that wasn't the case, but we don't have the best of luck," he said.

Stiles looked over at Scott. " Scott should be fine as soon as we get out of the fog. It's the fog affecting us all, or at least that's my theory."

Stiles mad a sketch of Jak on the side.

Nemo knew full-well how effective Erron was with those revolvers. It was almost enough to make him glad the cowboy was on their side. With his eye on the fritz and unable to use his sword, Nemo didn't like his odds if things went south. But as things stood now? He'd have to rely on Erron and Astaroth for protection. Which he wasn't that big a fan of, it only reinforced the image people formed of him just being a helpless kid! When he was anything but! Could a helpless kid summon demons?

Yeah, he thought so!

But despite how bleak this place seemed he was flying around on Garthos's back with his crush right behind him. Her laughter was a pleasant noise to Nemo's ears and he looked back and smiled at her.

"Yeah, you mentioned that the mansion you, Sakuya, and Erron all live at belongs to you! That's pretty awesome that you own a cool place like that. I still live with my folks but I've been all over Tokyo thanks to Astaroth. It's...well..It's kind of a dream I have to explore the world." Who knew how many people he could meet that he could help? Plus, making new friends as he went? Sure sounded like a go-to dream for the boy!

"But, I'd love to hang out with you, Remila! Maybe over the summer or something. That said, what are the other Scarlets like? Are they as cool as you are?"

Continued from here.

Chapter Two
"Welcome to Silent Earth"

After an additional hour of settling, being patched up, and helping rebuild what was destroyed in the minor cataclysm, the intercom would turn on and be heard all around the base again, Makoto's voice ringing out this time instead of Kyoko's.

"Ah... E-Everyone who is not already here, please report to the Command Center immediately for an emergency meeting. We have... something pressing to discuss."

With that, he would cut out, and await you all to do as requested.

kiri006.png

"...?"

Kyoko only silently raised an eyebrow at Makoto when he'd make the sudden announcement, the young woman seemingly caught off-guard a little. She hadn't been aware of any pressing matter they'd all needed to discuss, that is, any that had been personally discussed with her. There certainly were things that needed to be discussed, but... Kyoko was annoyed.

And she didn't feel annoyed that often.

Regardless of whether Makoto meant to do it or not, Kyoko had been getting the feeling that he was avoiding her ever since their little debate just before the explosion, like he wanted to avoid talking to her. The situation was familiar, that is, the situation of Makoto not wanting to talk to her about something, and she was fixing to be just as irritated as back then too.

She hated it when he kept secrets from her without a good reason.

When everyone would all report to the Command Center, which acted as the temporary makeshift Meeting Room since that was currently out of commission for obvious reasons, Makoto would be seen in the front standing next to Ritsuko, the second-in-command of the United Nations. Ritsuko, keeping a cool, collected expression like she usually did, pocketed her hands in her white coat, beginning to speak when everyone had gathered.

76596d00d9204c87a255d04b1a4de608.png

"We've gathered you all here today in order to make an announcement. In light of the unexpected explosion that rocked this entire place, I've discussed matters with Commander Makoto Naegi over what the best move should be, and we've managed to reach a conclusion together," she took a breath, eyeing Ilona for a brief moment, before continuing.

"I can imagine some of you might find problem with what we've decided, but I assure you that this is for the best. Commander Naegi, would you like to do the honors, or shall I?"

kiri030.png

Kyoko gave a visibly perplexed look, simply wondering to herself what idea the woman had planted into Makoto's head. Part of her didn't want to know, after the folder she had looked at upon hijacking Makoto's computer that one night a few weeks ago giving her an idea, but there was no helping it.

And so, one way or another, she would find out.

Makoto had been silent ever since the announcement, standing tall, yet with his eye looking off toward something nobody else but him could see. The expression on his face was one of determination, though any who knew him well enough would see that it hid a deep sadness within him. Makoto had yet to abandon hope, but he knew something had to change.

Ruby and the others were right. It was time to move forward.

"The source of the blast has been confirmed," Makoto said after Ritsuko spoke. It seemed he was going forward with making the announcement himself. "As many of you know, it was Ilona, a member of the Coalition who we have had under watch for some time now. She was here as a friend. A mutual agreement to study her unique abilities. Yet..."

inpqLPl.png

Makoto's head turned to take in all the people around him. All of them listening to him. His hands balled into fists at his sides, yet he stood tall. "... Ilona's abilities are born of malevolence. Her mother and father were tainted by despair, and so this has passed on to their daughter. I know she is a good person. I believe in her. However... I also have to agree with Ritsuko and the bulk of the United Nations when they say that such a power can't be left unchecked. That is why... I..."

Makoto closed his eyes. He needed Ritsuko to say the rest.

Ritsuko, far more stone-faced than the boy, would seem to give a lightly exasperated sigh, as though disappointed that Makoto wasn't able to go through with saying that they had intended to do by himself.

"Essentially, the plan is to detain Ilona. If we're to come to understand how the nature of the Malevolence inside her works, considering we've never seen a case like her before, and prevent any more lives from being affected by it, we have to do what is natural to do when we don't know something. We study. We'll do studies, conduct tests, and try to find a way to suppress the Malevolence inside, if not remove it from her being," The woman explained at length without missing a beat.

"It's fortunate that we had a number of powered people like Wanda Maximoff around to shield others from the blast, lest the entire base be easily extinguished of life, but even with these powers that we have, three lives were lost, one sent into a coma, and many others otherwise injured. Just imagine how dangerously powerful this energy could become if we don't quarantine her. The way I see it, we're lucky. Imagine the horrors that would be unleashed if she were put into a public environment without any sort of watch."

"That's why we have to put her under quarantine. With or without the approval of the Secretary-General."

ee1dd9f93946426b84a1aedbc31328ee.png

"Quarantine? You're making it sound like she's a walking disease," Akiko only remarked seriously, a light scowl tugging at the edges of her lips.

"But... Surely, there has to be an alternative."

"Akiko, please," Doppo said, raising an arm to calm her down, taking it upon himself to speak now.

tumblr_o6gnvnGEjh1vt7i5ao5_250.png

With a serious, wary expression, he would pose a question to Ritsuko. "If this plan were to proceed without a hitch, how long would you expect this... "detaining" to last?"

Ritsuko sighed lightly, simply shrugging her shoulders. "... I can't say. It isn't like there's a textbook about malevolence, nor would we be able to write one with all the current knowledge we have on it. For all we know, it could take years, maybe even decades, before we can fully cure her of her... condition."

Cosmo then spoke up, wanting to say his piece.

IWtODq3.jpg

"ThIs is what Cosmo feared most. Cosmo has been doink much thinkink. Ilona is good girl, however the power overwhelms her. Not her fault. Ilona needs people lookink out for her, protectink her from her powers. She needs guidance to control them. As much as it hurts Cosmo to suggest this, it's not safe for her out there, and it is not safe for us if she is out there. Nobody wins. We need to guard her, and help her grow. Only until we're sure we can let go."

Ak3rjDe.png

"..."

In contrast to Doppo, who seemed wary, and Akiko who was testy with the prospect at best, Kyoko would be more openly in disagreement over the so-called plan, glaring not at Ritsuko, but at Makoto.

"You... would agree to something like this, Makoto?" She asked, a slight tinge of the feeling of betrayal able to be heard in her voice, as though that was what she felt at the moment. "After everything you fought for, all the conviction in your ideals that you'd demonstrated for as long as we knew each other, your big plan is just to lock up a person, real and breathing, I feel I need to emphasize, and keep her isolated from civilization because of her power?"

Ahem.

tumblr_nqw1rpn7FK1ua3tajo5_1280.png

Raising a hand to step in, Ocelot would interrupt Kyoko to speak.

"I think that Ms. Akagi makes valid points. We don't, and likely are unable to, know about the true, deeper nature of Ilona's capabilities, and I'd rather not find out, lest it has to be paid for with more lives needlessly," the young soldier stated, before continuing, "And... With all due respect, Co-Commander Kirigiri, you've been out of action for a long time. I don't... think you're entirely aware of the situation, and why this is a necessary step not only for the sake of the multiverse's protection, but also preserving the relationship between the Coalition and the United Nations."

Essentially, it was as though he had told Kyoko that she didn't know what she was talking about, using the basis that she'd been out of commission for so long. But conversely, Kyoko personally thought that that made her even better equipped than if she had stayed in constant action.

kiri014.png

"..."

Still, she ignored the man's words for the time being. If he wanted to make arguments in an attempt to undermine her opinion's credibility, then that was that, but she would have her voice be heard one way or another.

"Makoto... What happened to you?"

Makoto looked flustered at Kyoko's sharp words that bordered on accusations of betrayal. His face grew red hot and he stammered out a few unintelligible syllables, only to then be drowned out by Byakuya.

hWMU2tw.png

"Let's not forget the fact that there are those out there who may try to use Ilona for their own benefit. The issue is not exactly that the girl has destructive power, for many standing here have the potential for such destruction in them as well. No amount of platitudes will change the fact that this girl has been used indirectly to kill others. That her power comes from the very force our enemies use is even more pressing."

kiri038.png

"But... That's exactly it! Many people, even right in this room, have potentially highly destructive power within them, and while their stability levels fluctuate depending on the person, it wasn't Ilona's fault. She was manipulated into discharging that power, just as anyone else could have been. Or... Did you neglect to recall her testimony that Jill Valentine was found dead before the explosion?" She remarked sharply, seemingly only growing more and more heated, unlike her usual composed self.

"Hey..." Sorey raised a hand, looking more intrigued by all this than anything.

49NgNeI.png

"I don't know if many people here are aware, but I have some ability to sense malevolence. It's not so effective here, but... I've never been able to sense any kind of malevolence from Ilona. The fact that she can generate it despite that is honestly... kind of frightening."

nyFmcLl.png

"But that doesn't mean Sorey and I agree with keeping her locked up," Mikleo said, crossing his arms. He glanced toward his friend for a moment, who nodded back to him in turn. "What Ilona probably needs is our support more than anything."

"Makoto!"

NoZSSqW.png

Captain-Commander Kieran had been silently fuming since this meeting began. His mind had been on other things since the blast, but to hear that he had been left out of such an important matter angered him to no end. This was entirely wrong, for more than just Ilona's sake. "I'm done with the Coalition blindly following the UN's orders! We are supposed to be independent... given the choice to make our own decisions without outside influence! The UN has demanded enough of us, and I will not let them strong-arm us into another decision. You have three leaders of the Coalition here... and two are saying no."

Makoto's nervousness only grew at such a vocal outburst. He had been trying to keep the peace for so long that at this point, it was almost the only thing that mattered. Kyoko didn't understand the dynamics, while Kieran... well, Makoto knew Kieran just felt guilty.

"No," Makoto uttered, his voice surprisingly firm. "A horrible, awful tragedy has befallen us. I can not ignore it... I will not ignore it. It is at Ilona's own request that she be sheltered from others, isn't it? Why deny her that choice? We are here to listen to others and make compromises if needed. This is to make everyone happy!"

kiri010.png

"This is hardly a compromise that everyone can be happy with. You're taking away years, possibly decades as Ms. Akagi herself has stated, from this person's life, just because she has potential to be dangerous, just like most other people around here," she said, practically scolding Makoto for even considering doing something like this, "The UN may not have had any hold on the Coalition when I was around, and if this is how things would turn out, maybe I really should have stayed."

Unfazed by Kyoko's words, the lavender haired detective giving the older woman a brief scowl, Ritsuko even stifled a dryly amused chuckle, before speaking in response.

"You're ignoring what your friend, who seems to understand the situation better than you, said before. Ilona herself requested to be detained. Who are we to deny someone like that a request that aligns with our own interests?" She inquired, gesturing towards everyone in the room with her arms, as though challenging anyone to speak up against her and the others who agreed with her.

xHGEyvj.jpg

"Did she really ask for it? I'd rather hear it from her own mouth, if you don't mind me not taking your word for it," Akiko said somewhat cantankerously, unfitting of how she usually was, before realizing something, "Where is Ilona anyway? I was under the impression she'd be here for this meeting that's all about her."

"She's been taken into our custody and is currently being transported to the UN Base of Operations as we speak," Ritsuko answered, crossing her arms, "You can protest all you want, people, but I have the authority, the power, here," she continued, glancing at Robin in the process, "Apologies if it seems like I'm overstepping my authority, Secretary-General, but I'd say this is a just cause for emergency powers."

9OF792U.png

"H-Hold on a minute! You can't just do that under our noses!" Shiki exclaimed in objection, to which Ocelot would interject.

"Our? You aren't even a member of the Coalition officially. Don't talk like you have that great a grasp on the situation. You're even worse off than Co-Commander Kirigiri, I'd wager," the soldier said.

EPtUVPc.png

"Oh, nice, I guess some people's opinions just matter less when they disagree with you, huh?" Gwen Stacy remarked snappily, her form stuck to the wall as she looked judgingly at Ocelot for the moment.

"Guys! Really?" Uhura intervened, attempting to get the conversation back on track, "Making accusations and insulting others isn't going to get us anywhere. Let's not get heated up so quickly."

"Indeed," Ritsuko nodded, before producing what appeared to be a communicator device from her pocket, "But if you all really want to hear it, then be my guest," she spoke, pressing a button on it and speaking to it, "Deputy Secretary-General speaking. Can I get a status on Ilona? Everyone wants to hear a word from her before she leaves."

...

Silence ensued, before she would uncomfortably clear her throat.

"Come in. Did you hear me?"

"... gone..." A faint voice would respond weakly, prompting Ritsuko's eyes to widen in shock.

"W-What?!"

"She's... gone... We... attacked by... h-him..." The voice on the other end responded, before the connection would abruptly cut off... as though someone else had ended it deliberately.

"What the hell...! Dammit, what's going on out there?! Come in. I said report!" Ritsuko exclaimed angrily into the device, but alas, it would avail to nothing.

"... Ahem."

2520136bc48040228ad29afcfdf74ba7.png

"What's going on here? Where's Ilona?"

A collective gasp went out amid the Coaltiion recruits as the reality of the situation came over them. Makoto was among them, his eyes going wide in fear to learn yet another despairing situation had come upon them. "Ilona...? Who do they mean by... him...?"

"Damn it!" Kieran roared. He started making his way toward the exit of the room. "Captain-Commander Kieran is getting to the bottom of this!"

However, as Kieran was about to leave, Alvin came rushing into the room. "We have a situation here...!" he began, but trailed off when he saw the looks on everyone's faces.

m9LoLNH.png

He choked back an angry grumble, eyes searching for Makoto. "Alter Ego got an emergency transmission from our double agent inside Umbrella. It's reported that, only minutes ago, that Ilona was transferred to their facility on Silent Earth. Seems they've made a breakthrough... they plan to use her power."

4da4c31f2746465eaa012b21c82d18d0.png

"S-Silent Earth?! But... Isn't that the site of the tragic Silent Hill Incident from way back then?!" Doppo exclaimed in shock, and it seemed like he wasn't the only one to have a strong reaction to the revelation.

If the room was at a fever pitch before, this new information rocked the group to their core, for all at the very least understood that this was a dire development. "There's no telling what they could do!" Kieran yelled, turning back to look upon Makoto and Kyoko. "There's no time to think... we have to stage a rescue mission!"

Makoto stared back at his friend, words failing him. So many voices bounced off him, mixing together into an unintelligible din of noise. All Makoto could so was bury his hands in his hair, closing his eyes as his mind desperately searched for answers.

... But it seemed there was no need to find an answer, for one would be provided anyway. Makoto heard a shrill noise cut through the Command Center, causing his eyes to open. A dark mist seemed to seep into the room, covering everyone in an inky darkness.

Everything was dark, and soon, nothing could be heard.

***

When next the group awoke, they would find themselves unbelievably cold. It was a chill that seemed to seep into their skin and cool their bones.

The sky above was a disquieting dull grey with storm clouds forming above. The ground was the concrete of an empty street. Buildings surrounded the group with trees, foliage, and power lines providing the setting of a typical town.

ZP6DGt5.jpg

Last but not least, a fog settled over the group. The mist itself felt heavy in a way, as if it was weighing on everyone's shoulders. The air itself would clog the senses, making one feel almost out of breath. Amidst the fog, powers would not be as effective as usual.

Not everyone within the Coalition's headquarters had been transferred over, but a good many had. Makoto looked around, finding no sign of Commander Shepard or Paladin Danse who had both been present within the Command Center. Either that was a good thing, or a very bad thing.

wUGsUZN.png

"..."

Despite the effects of the fog, Shiki did his best to remain calm in the face of adversity. Hard to believe that it had only been roughly a year for him since the last time he had ended up within Silent Earth. The Arch Demon's Downfall showed him a lot about who he was, and what he was afraid of, but it also showed him what he was willing to fight for. Of course, it wasn't until later that he'd discover what he was willing to live for, but here and now, the tense atmosphere of death and despair, it was familiar.

It was so familiar that Shiki remembered vividly how it was just like his life, only a short two years ago. And he remembered why it was imperative that he had to leave this kind of place behind if he knew what was good for him.

"This place... It's... It really is..."

"We're in Silent Hill... or maybe, more accurately, Silent Earth." Makoto paused, seemingly stuck on what to say. The sound of Kyoko clearing her throat brought him out of his reverie. "... Something has gone horribly wrong. We've been compromised. Everyone! I need you to know this! ... Silent Earth works in strange ways. It plays tricks on the mind... conjures illusions... It wants to trap you and bring you into despair. What matters most is the strength of your will, not how powerful you are. Do you understand? Whatever we say, please listen... and please stay strong."

kiri007.png

"If nothing else, you should all also stay strong to make up for our tentative loss of numbers," Kyoko would promptly add on to Makoto's words, pointing out the disappearance of those who had previously been present back in HQ. Sure enough, anyone who would look around would notice that as far as authority figures and representatives went, the only people around were Makoto, Kyoko, and Kieran, the big three of the Coalition.

"It's likely that they were separated from us, whether by chance or deliberately by whoever brought us here, though regardless, we need to regroup and then think up a plan concerning rescuing Ilona and getting out of here," she continued, maintaining her cool within her expression and voice, even despite the fog that haunted everyone around...

... though the more observant ones around would notice her legs shaking quite a bit.

Even the strong, sometimes, were not invincible.

Before the old man could say anything, the PA rang out with what sounded like that green-haired boy saying everyone who wasn't at the Command Center had to be there for a emergency meeting.

"Well, better head towards that meeting then!"

I added a sigh after the device beeped out the last word.

I headed on over to the CC where it was just getting started. The leaders were all there and the meeting was all about someone named Ilona. It would seem that the clown was right, she had 'Malevolence Energy' and the boy and a woman said they planned on detaining her.

Cue the protests. It quickly descended into people disagreeing and some even outright saying that other organizations shouldn't have control over them. I could only growl at their stupidity. Ilona was a threat, even if this 'Jill' had died, be it flattened into a sandwich or shot a dozen times, before the explosion, something like this couldn't be allowed to roam around. Hell, even Ilona agreed!

But people are people. The joys of politics, fingering anyone and everything since its creation.

However, the arguments halted when someone wanted to have Ilona speak. A weak, pained voice responded, saying that she was gone. Everyone remained silent, my own eyes narrowing in suspicion and my ears perked, ready to receive any information. The person said they were attacked by 'him' then the connection was cut off.

It would seem the rumors of a mole were true, someone had infiltrated the Coalition HQ and attacked. This situation was getting badder by the second.

Then a report came in from a agent inside Umbrella, Ilona had been transferred over to Silent Earth, a place where one of the Murder Games took place. They must have used teleportation to get there that quickly. The meeting started to descend into a nervous fervor. We all knew what this meant, how dire the situation was. Umbrella intents on utilizing as a weapon.

My mission was clear, go to Silent Earth, wipe out the enemy, and retrieve this girl. Already someone had called out for a rescue operation. Time to show my stuff!

However, before I could get a chance to step forward, a shrill penetrated my eardrums and a ominous, dark fog creeped into the room consuming everyone in my sight. I kept spinning my head around, raising my fists up ready to punch a hole in whatever came at me. Clearly this mist wasn't planned for as evidenced by people's confused looks. Though only darkness came.

After a unknown amount of time I awoke to the sound of others awaking. I was still standing up and looking around I saw that a great deal many of people from the HQ, not everyone, was inside what appeared to be a quiet American-styled town. The fog, though, was heavy and I felt a slight quiver. Huh, shouldn't my suit be maintaining my body temp?

WARNING: ENERGY INTERFERENCE/
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: REDUCED BY 50%
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: DISABLED/
RECOMMENDATION: REMOVE INTERFERENCE

The text scrolled up through my visor and I hung my head. Great, the secondary functions had been disabled by unknown means. No double-jumping. I could still smash thing though!

I heard the voice of the boy say that Silent Earth's fog played tricks in a attempt to bring us towards despair and saying we needed to be strong-willed. The girl then mentioned we needed to do that to make up for our losses, whom were separated by chance or deliberately. Some also apparently saw us being teleported to the place where Ilona was as bad. I saw it as a quick and nearly painless trip.

And now while everyone was regrouping, I decided to patrol the perimeter to make sure there weren't any surprises.

@Mason Moretti @Nater Taters
"You're not too far away from the truth, Train. Anyway, sitting around here doing nothing won't get us anywhere. In this fog, we wouldn't see the group until we're right next to them. I say let's pick a direction on the nearest road and follow it. Intuition tells me... left."

As the group began to make their move in securing a location, the danger lurking within the darkness finally struck. All around the group, the fog itself seemed to erupt, blowing mist and debris into the air. If it was hard to see before, the new particles flying through the air made it downright impossible.

Just beyond the edge of the explosions appeared what seemed like ghostly images of people amid the fog. If one tried to focus their vision on them, they would only catch the barest hint of physical forms before--

"G-Gaaahhkk!!" Out of the fog came some kind of bullet that punctured Kieran in the back, knocking him to the ground. He convulsed as if having a seizure or being electrocuted. Makoto cried out his name before he too was struck by a flying object. What appeared to be a dart had embedded itself into the boy's neck, causing his movements to slow as he tripped over himself and landed next to the Captain-Commander.

From the fog and dust, one of the figures came closer, revealing herself to the group.

nt7RzGp.jpg

In her hands was a sizable gun, one that shot canisters of black mist. After firing off a shot, the canister exploded, forcing the group to breath in the substance. It was enough to knock them out.

kiri014.png

"!"

Kyoko couldn't even call out for Makoto or Kieran before she would end up breathing in some of the black air, causing her to cough violently, before sounds would cease to come from her as she too would fall to the ground, unconscious.

A number of other sinister looking individuals would begin to appear before those who would miraculously be able to stay conscious for just a little while longer, most of which wearing masks that obscured their faces and black armor, just like the woman who had shot the canister.

AlecVqq.png

"..."

One such figure casually walked through the group, looking around for those who would attempt to resist the air. It was useless to fight, no matter how hard anyone would try, as the mist from before, among even more factors now, practically disabled everyone's use of their powers, and muddled anyone's ability to tap into innate abilities honed through training. Still, the figure would point his gun and begin shooting it at anyone who wouldn't immediately falter, tranquilizer darts cleanly landing in some people's necks, before everyone would eventually succumb to the cold dark.

***

When everyone would all come to, the group would wake up in what seemed to be strange place that resembled some sort of facility. Trapped behind metal bars, everyone individually placed within some holding cell, the sound of footsteps would be heard walking through.

Initially, one would assume it was one of the attackers, but once he came into visible view, the source of the footsteps would be revealed to be none other than Revolver Ocelot, looking just a little battered, but still alive and well.

xI82WzF.gif

"Hmph. What a sorry state you all seem to be in," Ocelot said patronizingly in a somewhat hushed voice.

"Nngh..." Kyoko mumbled shortly after she'd wake up, stumbling to her feet as she'd catch her breath, "Ocelot... How did you...?"

"I got separated from you when we were taken to Silent Earth, but it seemed that the intended result was all the same, since we all got knocked out and ended up here. They made one mistake though," Ocelot would reply, making his way to the end of the corridor where a small console would be located. As he would press a button on it, the cell doors would automatically open, seeming to free you all.

"Gases are little more than an annoyance for me."

Taking a breath, he would look down at himself, before pursing his lips.

"Two, actually. Looks like they thought it'd be funny to take away my guns. And all your toys as well," he mused. That said, if anyone would check to confirm, they would find that they were missing all of their equipment.

kiri041.png

"We can recover those. What did you manage to find out about this place while looking for us?" Kyoko questioned without missing a beat.

"The hall beyond this place leads off into three different rooms. Two of which are holding rooms for the other members and representatives, the third is a storage room, all of which are presumably guarded or protected through some degree. There's also a door on the other end of the hall, but it seems to be locked. One of the soldiers around in this place might be carrying a key card that can get us further, so we'll have to split up to cover more ground. What do you all say to that?"

Shaking himself awake, Kieran audibly groaned. It took him a few minutes to stand and get a bearing on what Ocelot was saying. "I suppose I can... help break into the storage room. We'll all need to equip ourselves."

"I'd like to help break the others out," Makoto said. It seemed splitting up was the best course of action at this point.

Mason panicked st the news that their items had been taken. He felt at his neck and confirmed that the source of control for his powers, his necklace, had indeed been stolen. He needed to retrieve it an fast. As well, his Aura Guidebook, a priceless heirloom holding family secrets, needed to be retrieved. If there was a chance that his items waited in that storage room, he had to get in there.

Kieran had to admit, this all seemed rather easy.

He wanted to admonish Zidane and Bibi for running off ahead, but it seemed the security in the prison hall was rather lax. Either Ocelot had been busy before he freed them, or Umbrella (those had been Umbrella agents back there) didn't fathom the idea of them escaping. In either case, it was all the better for them.

The crisp what hallway was inhabited by a single guard with a gas mask, not even armed with a firearm. He held some kind of baton, which Kieran imagined was a taser of some kind. He didn't have time to warn Zidane or his friend before the guard caught sight of them and angrily made his way toward them. Kieran looked to the others with him and said, "either support them, or get down. Don't be reckless, okay?"

Before he could complete his sentence, Madoka covered his mouth. "Don't you dare complete that sentence if you wish to continue breathing, brother."

"OK, OK. Chill, chill, chill. By the way, something's on me," Kido looks up to see Ruby Rose on him, still unconscious. His tiny frame lacked the strength to stand due to the weight of the red-hooded lass pinning him down. "Ms... uh... Red Hood? Riding Hood? Red Rose? Rosetta Stone? AkaRyuusei? Trauciel Hilbred? "Shoot!" ZIdane said, as he didn't have a weapon he can use. Maybe he could go for a knockout?

Just then, Zidane saw Bibi channeling a spell.

That's right! Bibi can still cast black magic! Zidane realized, hoping that it would still work.

Bibi then casted the spell, Blizzard. Since it was casted without a rod or staff, its power is weakened, or it might not even work, with everyone weakened. But surely it was worth a try and freeze the guard's movements?

"Sounds like a plan. Make sure to have a few people accompanying you, just in case you run into a few guards," Kyoko responded, though she seemed to avert her gaze from Makoto. It was hard to tell if it was a conscious action, but the more observant might take notice of it...

Shiki, who had accompanied the group heading for the Holding Rooms, would clear his throat, preparing to speak his piece.

"I'm willing to go with Makoto. Len, you go with the nice lady, okay? Make sure nothing bad happens to her," the young man would instruct Len like a father to his child, briefly gesturing towards Kyoko, to which the blue-haired familiar would simply nod and give an unemotional thumbs up. Well, that was as pumped as he could have expected Len to be.

Taking a breath, he would then put a hand on his hip, looking at Shizuo and whoever else would follow them. "What about you guys? Would you rather the first room with Makoto or the second room with Kirigiri-san?"

"I'll be going with Naegi as well. Ocelots may be solitary creatures, but they are also proud ones as well, and I have a score to settle with these freaks," Ocelot spoke simply, crossing his arms.

As I started to patrol, I felt the earth rumble and suddenly a piece of stone flew right next to my face. I jerked back, raising my hands to summon one of my weapons. However, a scream tore through the air and looking at the group, I saw people started to fall. I turned my sight towards the source of the explosions. It was then a woman decked out in full black and a gas mask, wielding a weapon that looked like-oh shit she was going to fire gas!

Boom!

The resulting explosion sent forth a black mist and I began coughing violently. I began stumbling about when everyone around me began dropping like flies.

More black geared men and women emerged out of the mist, one strolling out of the crowd and holding up a gun. The next thing I knew was blackness.

Even more time later, I would awake behind metal bars and I groggily looked around to see that the others had been thrown in with me as well. I didn't see any of their equipment with them. I had some trouble standing up, but I managed and that was when I noticed that I felt lighter... like my armor was missing. I turned my head downwards and saw that the Black Agents had stolen my armor leaving me with nothing, but my scarred body.

Damnit, not again. Last time was tolerable since it was just blasted Demons. This time, there were people...

However, I heard Ocelot's voice and looking over, I saw him outside of the cells. He had seemingly escaped and infiltrated the base we were kept in. After a bit of talk, he opened the bars for us and I walked out with a frown and narrowed eyes. I attempted to summon my weapons... they too were gone... somehow.

Still had my fists.
