PROLOGUE
"In Accordance"

Since the fall of their greatest enemy to date, the Arch Demon, the Coalition had since taken great leaps and bounds to recover from what was lost from the grueling battles. Reforming itself to better compensate for the growing varied number of threats to the multiverse, the Coalition looked to its allies and benefactors to support them in areas where they may be lacking. The Brotherhood of Steel, a paramilitary organization born out of a world ravaged by nuclear fallout, trained the Coalition's soldiers, for no one knew better than them what it took to survive under the most grueling of conditions. Future Foundation, an organization started as a response to the most vile of threats, specialized in training Coalition agents in espionage and infiltration, for they were made up of the most talented of people, a great number of whom could be tasked for whatever was needed of them. The Multiverse Emergency Unit, started first as a force ready to combat any magical threat looming on the horizon, trained agents for when magic was needed against a devastating threat, for the power of these witches and magical girls knew no equal.

Finally, there was the United Nations, a multiversal organization that had allied itself with the Coalition. While the two groups were said to be on equal standing, it was the Coalition that had to report to the UN. Transparency was required, or else the Coalition would be seen as a threat to the UN. This would not be a problem, if not for the growing tension between the two groups, fueled primarily by a scandal the Coalition had tried desperately to cover up.

On this day, representatives of each organization had been gathered at the Coalition Headquarters, the best and the brightest there for a very important meeting. For the first time since all groups became allies, the Coalition had called them together for a debriefing, to help them all understand the current state of the multiverse and their enemies.

The meeting room had grown within the last few months, expanded to accommodate the rapid number of allies and friends the Coaltiion had recently gathered. Holographic imagery had been set up at the center of the circular room, used primarily as a visual aid for whomever was speaking. It was around this holograph that the leaders of every organization associated with the Coalition sat, ready to listen in on the proceeding info. Beyond them and taking up all the other surrounding seats were members of every organization, privileged with the opportunity to hear this valuable intelligence firsthand. Though Coalition members made up the majority, at least a handful of attendees each were from their allies.

jd2HfSL.png

Makoto Naegi, one of the two current leaders of the Coalition, was standing before the hologram, looking slightly befuddled at having to speak in front of so many people. Though those that knew him knew he had a certain way with words, and despite the fact Makoto had been leading the majority of these people for over a year now, Makoto still felt a familiar ache of nervous excitement that he had felt when having to give speeches in grade school.

"... Hi, everyone," Makoto said, his voice low, but amplified by speakers at the edges of the room. His eyes looked around the room, seeking for a familiar face, quickly coming upon Kyoko sitting nearby. He smiled at her, lingering for just a few second before turning his gaze back to the majority. "As you know... you're here because it's been long due for all of us to come together like this. For some of us, we have been allies since the day this organization was started, and yet we have not had a moment to gather our most valued members together in one place. This occasion is... exciting! All of us, together like this, represent the hope that we wish to give to every world out there!"

It was then that the Coalition's other leader, Captain-Commander Kieran, spoke up. Makoto and he had agreed to share the beginning of this meeting. "Not only are we using this opportunity to bring us all together, it's important that we discuss, as one body, the status of the worlds around us. While we represent, as Makoto would say, hope for all worlds, there are those that would represent... well, despair." The hologram came to life, displaying an image some found all too familiar. It was the head of the Arch Demon, his mouth opened wide, as if he was about to release a stream of fire upon the group sitting before him.

htGIV6F.png

Kieran cleared his throat, looking momentarily surprised at how lifelike it was. "Uhh-- See here, this was the Arch Demon. The menace who both brought us together and nearly destroyed us. Though we've defeated him, his influence and presence still linger all around us. There are those who would threaten us by copying his ways... or even just become inspired by him. However, we have to first discuss the most immediate of his legacy... the despair energy he created and his very remains."

"While we tried... very very hard to collect what remained of him, it turned out a more difficult task than we thought... The Coalition at the time had lost so much, and we didn't have the resources and allies we do today. Before we could gather his remains, the dimension he had made for himself collapsed, and those remains were scattered across different dimensions." Makoto paused, rubbing at the back of his neck. "... When we tracked these remains down, a group was sent from the Torch training grounds to recover them, but they failed in their mission. As a result, those remains were lost to... an unknown threat."

"While we don't know who has these remains now, we can only imagine those that got to them first has nothing but bad intentions. Those remains are imbued with despair energy... something we've recently began to describe as malevolence. It's not just the Arch Demon's remains that hold malevolence, but anything or anyone that he touched through his Murder Games. It would seem that certain entities can create this energy when sentient beings experience strong negative emotions. The Arch Demon was one such entity, but unfortunately others out there exist."

Over the course of the presentation, some might have noticed one Kyoko Kirigiri, close associate of Makoto Naegi and re-instated administration member of the Coalition after a year-long absence, seemed a bit distracted. Anyone who had known her for a small while or even had one conversation with her knew that she was normally a focused, forward individual who gave everything her full attention, so those who would notice might find it odd that she seemed... out of it.

gGVQZKw.png

"... Strong levels of malevolence, umm... well, think of it as a corruption... recently, we've discovered there's an entire realm made up of malevolence called the Dark Place, where entities that we can't truly fathom exist. Thankfully, they can't move outside their realm without high levels of malevolence present within our worlds or without hosts they can use. If we're vigilant... these beings, who we call the Dark Presence, can't touch us."

Whatever Kyoko was thinking of at the moment, she seemed to be really into it, as after Makoto would finish speaking about the Dark Place, a small, albeit uncomfortable, pause would begin in the meeting room, before Kyoko would eventually snap back to the matter at hand. Clearing her throat, the young woman would stand up and begin to speak, elaborating on the Malevolence that Makoto and Kieran spoke of.

"Even so, we shouldn't be careless. At a crucial time like this, this is no time to be slacking off. We need to be wary at all times for any entities that might have escaped this Dark Place, or otherwise anything else that had been afflicted by Malevolence. This can range from certain people to certain objects, places, or even entire realms," she spoke.

Before long, a figure in the back would stand up, clearing her throat rather loudly, heard by everyone in the room. Like the others, her voice was amplified by the speakers. Exuding a strong aura of authority, the woman in formal red clothing inquired something.

f689837a2edf4c87a639df0830c6779e.png

"Question, miss speaker," Princess Carissa, one of two representatives of the M.E.U. to attend the meeting, would begin, "If individuals can so easily be afflicted with this... Malevolence you speak of, then would not everyone who participated in these Murder Games, or at the very least, if not those who stood in the presence of the Dark Presence, those who stood in the presence of the Arch Demon, be afflicted as well?"

As Carissa finished speaking, a certain young, bespectacled young man would shift in his seat uncomfortably, as though the question bothered him.

AIOGvym.png

"..."

Kyoko furrowed her brow, taking in the question for a small moment, before responding in kind to her.

"... While any of those scenarios described are a possibility that can't be ruled out absolutely, you must consider that it was more the Arch Demon that spread the malevolence. If there's anyone with dormant despair energy residing inside them, it's bound to reside in survivors of any Murder Games that he had orchestrated, most notably the earliest one or ones, to put forward a hypothesis. However, Malevolence is a fragile force, and if put in an environment that is otherwise stable and free of despair, we can hypothesize that it would die off quickly without a catalyst to strengthen it," Kyoko explained, to which Carissa would simply nod in acknowledgement.

Clearing her throat, she would then proceed to speak again.

kiri030.png

"In any case, we should move forward if that'll be all the questions concerning malevolence. The primary reason this meeting was held was so that we could discuss the current status of the multiverse, and see what we can do to maintain the balance throughout. Does anybody have something they'd like to report?"

It was then that Revolver Ocelot, another member of the Coalition, would stand up, arms folded behind his back formally.

kojima-productions-quelques-repliques-cultes-de-metal-gear-solid-3-s-04.jpg

"From my observations, we've managed to maintain a malevolence-free world within the Torch, and while the Ragnarok project is a work in progress, it's getting there," he answered, being the first one to give a response, "Other than that, I haven't experienced too much of the despair energy supposedly circulating around."

A yawn would rise from another Coalition member, nurse Akiko Yosano, who would briefly raise her hand and also speak up.

zw9eq5t.jpg

"Same, same," Akiko spoke, scratching the back of her head, "My sector has been clean as well. Nothing interesting to report on my end."

"Did I say I was done?" Ocelot would snap at Akiko, to which the woman would simply give a small laugh and an ominous grin in response.

lV5jKUk.png

"Gehee."

"Ahem."

Another man, one of Akiko's friends from the looks of it, would clear his throat, shooting an annoyed and impatient look at the nurse's way.

Doppo Kunikida was one of the many general managers and planners of the Coalition, spending his time and efforts writing notes down, keeping tabs and memos for others, and so on. He was punctual, and hated anything that risked resulting in him and his associates going overtime on something. Thus, most people found it difficult, if not predictably uncomfortable, to talk to, as he always seemed to be in a rush, even if there was practically nothing to be in a rush about from their points of view.

59r8DdG.png

"If that'll be all, Yosano, Major Ocelot, let's give anyone else who wants to speak their limelight. Shall we?"

A moment of silence followed Doppo's question, long enough for one who did not entirely wish to speak up during all this to feel the need to ask the questions burning on her mind. The second M.E.U. representative, Morrigan, stood to her feet, all grace.

7YBFchV.jpg

"'Tis all well and good, but this malevolence, are there not recorded instances of worlds scarred by this energy? Just recently, a... unique member of both our organizations discovered a being constructed of this malevolence. If I am to understand her origin correctly, a group that once served the Arch Demon is to blame?"

"Oh... yes, uh..." Makoto hadn't seen this question coming, but he supposed this was important information, after all. "We believe the Order is to blame. They still worship the Arch Demon... they see his despair energy as a holy power. Though they and the Umbrella organization were just working independently for the Arch Demon at first, they have since solidified an alliance." This information was all thanks to Lalonde, who was working for Umbrella as a double agent for now. That particular detail would definitely be left out of this meeting.

"I see... and so our enemies grow in turn. One more thing, this Ragnarok project, what exactly is that? 'Tis certainly not something my coven is privy to."

A man standing near the exit of the room, arms crossed as if he wanted little to do with the proceedings around him, gruffly spoke up.

VLSyOzm.png

"The Ragnarok project is largely a Brotherhood matter. It does not concern you, witch."

Morrigan turned to the man, smiling. "Truly a wonder why anyone questions our unwillingness to allow men into the group, isn't it, Carissa?"

"Hey, ah..." Kieran found himself laughing nervously, looking between Morrigan and on of the Brotherhood of Steel representatives, Paladin Danse. He wanted to quickly draw the conversation back to himself. "Ever since the days we fought against the Arch Demon, one of our strategic lines of defense was a planet called Ash. It was the site of a Murder Game that ended very badly... we didn't understand it at the time, but malevolence had tainted the land, conjuring entities from the Dark Place and birthing monsters. Our soldiers fought some heavy battles there, and while the planet has somewhat stabilized since the Arch Demon's death, the malevolence has risen recently. We're returning to the battlefield, carving out a better base of operations. This is Ragnarok."

"But... Ash isn't the only place like this. A known stronghold for the Order and Umbrella is Silent Earth, which was actually the site of another Murder Game... this planet is even worse off than Ash. It's one of our top priorities, but we don't yet have the ability to reliably infiltrate it or destroy it, unfortunately..."

There was an audible sigh from someone sitting close to Kyoko. He stood up, having been waiting for his moment to speak, but it seemed his opening had been lost in the proceeding conversation. Makoto shut up, looking embarrassed as he let Byakuya Togami have his moment to speak.

fbiZIdu.png

"If we're finally done talking about this malevolence... There are other groups that threaten us and the greater multiverse. We know for a fact that Revan and the remnants of G.O.R.E. still remain at large, calling themselves the Revanchists. He betrayed us and stole valuable technology, making his group one of interest. As of now, we know nothing about their future plans."

There was a pause as Byakuya prepared his next thing to say. "... We don't know much more about the Zin, an alien race that seems to be following in Elliot's footsteps. Only recently did we infiltrate a compound where a number of individuals were being stored, their minds trapped inside a virtual reality. We're not entirely sure why they were up to this, but from intelligence gathered, we do know the Zin's ultimate goal is multiversal domination."

"On top of these Revanchists and the empire of Zin," Ocelot added in, "I feel we need to be wary of this other group whose activities have been difficult to monitor, but are still a risk nonetheless. Supposedly, they're called the Blood Institute, and from what a reliable source has told me, they seem to be on the hunt for Rinato Dormi, otherwise known as Lapis Lazuli, who participated within the Arch Demon's Downfall and the recent Daughter Incident, for whatever reason, as well as a number of people who seem to be useful to them," he spoke, thinking back to the blue-haired girl who called herself Crona, and her talk of the Seven Deadly Sins. Quite a mess this could turn out to be.

tumblr_inline_n0sws3jwHW1qg734k.png

"Tch. And I was hoping back then that it would've all ended with the death of the Arch Demon and Wesker. Feels like whenever we pop one bad guy, two more pop up in his place," Jill Valentine, another member of the Coalition and one of the few surviving members of the earliest recorded Murder Game, commented idly on the side as she sat in the room, crossing her arms.

"Hmph."

Ritsuko_Akagi_2.jpg

Meanwhile, Ritsuko Akagi, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Universes, seemed to sneer at Jill's comment for whatever reason, though didn't say anything further than that.

"So..." A moment passed where Makoto waited for someone else to speak. When no one raised their voice, he continued. "That marks the end of the first portion of this meeting... Ah, we're going to go on break for an hour, where we'll then come back here and take what we've discussed and move on to our plans to combat these threats in the future." Makoto smiled widely, taking everyone in one last time.

"I hope such a discussion... truly gives hope to all of you."

As everyone would begin to leave, Kyoko would stand up and tap Makoto on the shoulder, a stern, yet also concerned look on her face.

5pdOBjl.png

"Hey... I need to talk to you. Let's take it... to the Command Center though."

***

It wasn't long before everyone had been moved into the sizable Lounge, left to mingle among themselves while they waited for the second part of the meeting to commence. That was not to say everyone wasn't allowed to tour the headquarters at their leisure.

If one was hurting to talk to someone other than the people they'd just been with in the meeting room, they could see a young woman, dressed similarly to a maid, cleaning up the place, complete with a white apron, though her hair was rather long, and one would think it'd get in the way.

At the current moment, she seemed fixated on her own devices at the moment, though she seemed available to talk to if you so desired.

tumblr_oabwg9jfav1qkpt3so6_250.gif

"Ah, jeez... I'm really going to let that R2-D2 droid have it now. It's like having a miniature car in the base, he leaves so many tracks!" The maid mumbled to herself, furrowing her brow as she'd clean up the mess.

A small beeping would be heard in the midst of the lounge, coming from Ocelot's form, specifically a bracelet-watch on his right wrist. Looking at it, the soldier would furrow his brow as he looked at the small screen on the device, pressing his finger on it to silence it, before taking a sigh.

MoNja2W.png

"Looks like some prisoners are causing a ruckus down at the Holding Cells. I'll take care of it," he said, before walking off. You were free to follow him and see just what was going on if you felt like. There were plenty of spooky stories passed around base concerning the holding cells, though few people ever dare to go there, though no one could ever remember the specifics, except for one matter where it was known that the Holding Cells currently housed two high-profile prisoners. Ever wanted to meet a celebrity bad guy behind bars?

Jill Valentine yawned and stretched before making her way to the exit of the lounge. "Hey, if anyone wishes to see me, I'll be enjoying some quiet in the Library." Without comment, Morrigan followed after. It was known there was a wealth of information on the Coalition and the multiverse was available to find. It was largely a digital library, and the few physical books around are generally brought on by the crew. Despite that, a quiet environment was encouraged.

"Hm. I should see what Kirigiri and Naegi are up to in the Command Center..." Byakuya left quickly after speaking this, heading to the the heart and soul of the headquarters where one would likely find its leaders.

SHIZUO HEIWAJIMA, THE STRONGEST MAN IN IKEBUKURO

4983291-3917325184-21947.jpg

It had been a drag sitting through that meeting, listening as each of the speakers (some of whom seemed to just be kids) gave their reports about the various topics that apparently interested the higher ups in the organizations. As for Shizuo, it seemed rather tiresome to put up with, especially when a few of them started bickering between each other. Why the hell couldn't they all just explain their problems and get on with it? Was this what that Robin guy put up with on a daily basis?

Seemed like a constant headache to the former bartender, but then again, he wasn't here for actually talking. He was here as muscle, and as muscle, he was gonna be ready to put down any ruckus before it started. Seemed like that army officer had something he needed some forceful convincing to handle.

"I'll be back in a minute, boss. That holding cells trouble sounds like something I could help with."

He spoke towards Robin, the leader of the UN and the man who was technically in charge of him at the moment, though it was simply a notification of his absence rather than a request for permission. Whether or not the tactician agreed to his departure, Shizuo was already walking after the man known as Ocelot, nodding to the shorter man out of respect for his rank.

"I'm up for helping out with the prisoners. Just tell me if you need me to do something."

@Verite @Minerva @Ringmaster @C.T. @Gummi Bunnies @Atomyk

"Count me in too." He casually added, falling in line behind the two. As much as it was required for the job, the big meetings with people just droning on and on were never really his thing. Not that he couldn't handle himself in such situations, but it was just dull. He suspected that was one reason Oz kept a small inner circle as well. The bureaucracy could swallow a guy up in an ocean of red tape if he wasn't careful. No, being in the field was much preferable, where the action...and the ladies were. That brought a smirk as he raised his flask up for a quick sip. Mhhhhhm. Aged to perfection.

"...Now it looks like a party. Everyone's invited."

@Verite @The Tactician @Atomyk @Ringmaster

The lean tower of strength nodded to the two newcomers to the posse that was heading down to control the problem downstairs. The two seemed a rather odd pair, one dressed like one of the Catholic priests were rarely seen in Japan but familiar enough through media to be recognized and the other some sort of noblewoman who liked to dress like a knight. For a moment, he wondered what exactly the priest had to bring to the situation, but then thought better of thinking he wasn't prepared. Most of the people in the Coalition seemed to be strong enough to handle themselves, so Shizuo would welcome the help.

"Name's Shizuo. Nice to meet you both."

"Been awhile, old man. Was wondering if you were still running around..."

He smirked at the older swordsman, recognizing him from their time fighting the Reapers. It seemed he hadn't been the only one to take the U.N.'s offered employment with Qrow here, and he wondered who else from their time in a Murder Game was running around the meeting.

"How have you been?"

"Don't ever call me old."

M8H0K9j.png

"And ya know, same old same old. World keeps on spinning, no matter how bad things seem to get."

Lucifers gaze flicked curiously to the first speaker, somewhat taken aback at a sight he rarely saw save in his mirror. At the others friendliness, he responded courteously in turn as he spoke to both.

"Lucifer. M.E.U. and WAND."

"A-Saber." The knight said quietly. Where Lucifer was curious about the people, Saber was more interested in their weapons. The red-caped one was unusual, not one she was familiar with. The other seemed bereft of weapons at all. A martial artist? Well, she'll see at any rate. Wanted to ask but not wanting to break the ice so much, she turned back to her measured pace. Lucifer smiled apologetically before speaking.

"What department are you two in?"

@C.T. @The Tactician @Verite

"Not much else I could call you since it's the truth."

Without a hint of regret for his comeback, Shizuo began to fish out his cigarettes and lighter as they walked. Somehow, he had a feeling that whatever was down in the holding cells was gonna piss him off, and if he was gonna put up with it, he would need a smoke for it. After lighting his stick, he took a draw of the cigarette before continuing on.

"And I'm about the same, been helping out my world rebuild and watching out for Kofuku. How about your world? Your nieces okay?"

"United Nations at the moment, just started, actually."

@C.T. @Ringmaster @Verite

"None. I didn't sign on the dotted line for any official position with these guys, I got my own things that need to be done for that. Just an independent ally that can lend a hand now and again. This is one of those times."

"How about starting with the name? I got one, ya know. Beats that nonsense you're saying. And of course they are. They're built tough, just like their parents. Can't put it any better."

@The Tactician @Ringmaster @Verite

"Hmm... Good to hear that, Qrow. Glad to know dumbass space squids didn't hurt anybody too close to you."

It wasn't much, but at least he was using Qrow's name now. Then again, it might have just been the calming effect the smoke was having on him or the fact that he was readying up for a brawl down in the holding cells.

@Verite @C.T. @Ringmaster

"You're from Remnant." Lucifer deduced, though honestly it wasn't that far a stretch. The weapon such as it was seemed similar enough to most he had seen from that world, in terms of intricate design. That and the resemblance to someone he knew seemed enough to confirm.

Interesting enough name. And always interesting to meet a reserve. Those who fought for right, or for coin but were always on call. That said, he made a mental note to examine the records more later. He had been dividing his time down there of late, trying to find out more about their enemies. If what that meeting had shared was any indication, they were going to need all the allies they could find.

"Squid? You've faced the devil fish as well?" Saber Alter snarled at the memory...Well, not really hers perhaps. But even then, the thought of that gruesome monstrosity lurking even in her mind?

fatezero14-11.jpg

....Horrifying. She simultaneously scowled and shuddered. An interesting sight in and of itself.

@C.T. @The Tactician @Verite

"...Yeah. I am. You know it, so it would seem. Ya been there? Or just heard the stories or what have you. "

"Big enough that we're gonna have to intervene, lest our other lovely cellmate becomes too uncomfortable," Ocelot simply said in response to Lucifer, not minding the company that would follow him as he would keep walking, leading the group towards the destination.

Those who would follow Ocelot to the Holding Cells with the intention of seeing just what commotion that prisoners could be making would manage to reach the area within no time. The cells were sealed off magnetically by metal plates, a console planted in front of every cell. Still, despite the plates, you could definitely feel... something behind one certain cell. Something with a strong aura, a powerful will. Something horribly unnerving to the untrained, the impressionable. Stepping to said pod without hesitation, Ocelot would wordlessly press a button on the console, the plates unsealing and revealing an energy barrier as the other layer of protection between the cell and the rest of the base. Inside the cell, you would find two prisoners inside.

fdae59cd8aed4ec26a1693153c7ef0a57c0571bc_hq.gif

"Mmm... mhmhmhmhmhmhmhm..." One such prisoner, the jester known as Hisoka, convicted of being the murderer from the Carnival Incident, sat on the side of the cell opposite his cellmate. He was giggling madly over something quite amusing to him, licking his lips like he had tasted a most delectable treat. When the metal plates had opened up, exposing Hisoka and his cellmate to the others, Hisoka would turn his attention to the group and give them quite the ominous smirk.

tumblr_n1kfdlWEAn1r8loupo1_500.gif

"Oh... hello. I see you've brought some friends, major. I didn't know you had any~" Hisoka said playfully, to which Ocelot would ignore his comment and begin talking.

xI82WzF.gif

"Shut it, clown. Reports said you were making a ruckus here. You better stow it before I make you wish you ran away when you had the chance," the major threatened, before turning his head to the other cellmate, "So what happened, ol' Jack? He forget to take his medicine again?"

The ol' Jack in question was no one other than Handsome Jack having been incarcerated in the Coalition HQ for about 2 months since his failed takeover of a city called Rapture.

386

"Fuck should I know?" Handsome Jack replied annoyed towards Ocelot. "He just started giggling like crazy for no reason what so ever! Now that I have you here though...you mind letting ol' Handsome Jack out for a little leg stretch? I really need my excercise right about now."

pwpt3Pp.gif

In response, Ocelot would suddenly draw two guns from his holsters, juggling them casually for a moment, before speaking. "If it's exercise you want, why don't we kill two birds with one stone? You can practice running, and I can do some target practice," he responded.

"... A simple no would have been enough."

tumblr_nkva6tw22y1qzxv73o1_500.gif

Meanwhile, Hisoka would eye up the group before Ocelot, smirking devilishly. "Mmm... So strong. I can feel it in the air..." He said, sharply inhaling the air, as though he could smell the power dwelling inside you all, "Though I wonder... if you'd be able to satisfy me on your own, or if you'd just be a simple appetizer..."

"Damn, you're one creepy son of a bitch. Almost as bad as that guy..."

The way the clown eyed them made it clear that he only saw them as some sort of 'meat'. As if that wasn't enough, just the fact that the guy was a clown of all things that needed to be locked up disturbed Shizuo. What the hell had him and his cellmate gotten up to that caused them to be locked up by the Coalition?

Taking another drag of his cancer stick, he turned his head to the gun-twirling major and shrugged, "Hey, boss, what did Bonko the Clown and his friend do to get locked up in here? Had to be something serious, right?"

@Ringmaster @C.T. @Verite

"I'm familiar with it, though not to the point of visitation."

He thought back to the offhand comment of Shizuo wishing Qrow's nieces well, before making another educated guess. "That and I've taught a few of your people, back at the Torch training center between missions. Miss Rose has been a credit as a guest instructor you'll be pleased to know... Or one of them. It still confuses me at times." As a strike force member and experienced multiversal traveler, he had requested her presence on occasion whenever needed.

Saber would have been quietly listening, brow furrowed before turning her attention back to Shizuo. She was still thinking about squid.

And then they arrived.

Saber sneered, arms crossed with a clank. Lucifer would have been more silent, an eerie shadow to the side as he peered beneath the brim at the prisoners. These he knew....One marginally related to an event he had researched recently, involving a town called Gravity Falls. The other, a more direct reminder of his time in Rapture. For now, he remained quiet...Simply staring without malice at Hisoka and blinking freely. Staring contests were for others, he'd rather remain hydrated for anything. Not that he expected much here in this place of all places.

"Like you wouldn't believe. I don't know much about the first, save secondhand reports."

Lucifer gestured towards Jack.

"But I did have a ringside seat when this one made his play. Its a long story."

And not one he was entirely comfortable retelling in the cell near these two.

@The Tactician @C.T. @Jeremi @Verite

"That... Doesn't tell me much, preacher, but alright. I'll just take your word for it."

It was a little odd how Lucifer seemed ill about the topic, but Shizuo wouldn't press him on it. It wouldn't be a good idea to piss him off or worse, piss himself off about something that didn't matter at the moment.

@C.T. @Jeremi @Verite @Ringmaster

"Hey, do you need any help down here...?"

Captain-Commander Kieran wandered into the holding cells after the rest of the group, cautiously unsure if his presence was needed. Ocelot was one of the most competent members of the Coalition they had, and yet Kieran still worried. The latest prisoners were still being deliberated upon, the United Nations content with leaving them in the Coalition's cells for the time being. Perhaps they were waiting for an opportunity for the Coalition to screw up, but hopefully that kind of thinking was just Kieran being paranoid.

"Nah, don't need you, Kieran. They got me down here, after all." Kieran practically jumped out of his skin, not realizing Meira had been lurking int he shadows of the Holding Cells. She stepped into the light and took the group in, looking more bored than anything. Her tone defied that expression, sounding almost amused.

"H-Hey!"

gV1FJKC.png

"What are you doing, lurking in the dark like that? You're worse than the criminals!"

"Ehh..." Meira shrugged nonchalantly. "But I'm so pale, Kieran. Not my fault your eyesight is so poor. You really should get that checked out. Besides..." Meira looked over to Hisoka and Jack.

5G3JRyV.jpg

"Gotta be a creature of darkness to get into the heads of these two. Or, well at least creeper clown face."

@Verite @C.T. @Ringmaster @The Tactician @Jeremi @Holding Cells

"...It's only been two seconds but I can already tell why you'd want this clown locked behind bars. Not the great kind of bars, I mean if that's what you're thinking. The cold and constricting ones. This guy probably has a rap sheet as long as my arm. Never did like clowns." He reached behind his back for the hilt of his weapon. "So how's this gonna go down, if ya don't mind skipping out on the rest of the story for now."

@Verite @The Tactician @Ringmaster @Jeremi
"Why the hell would you want to get inside his head? Digging around in heads like his... Seems like a bad idea."

Shizuo questioned as the girl known as Meira argued with Kieran. Maybe she was just weird, but he just couldn't see the appeal in poking around in Hisoka's head.

"Same. Always been creeped out by the bastards..."

As Qrow reached for his weapon, Shizuo took the half-smoked cigarette from his mouth and tossed it on the ground. Before it could become a fire hazard, his foot snuffed out the flames as he cracked his knuckles.

"So, we gonna do this or not?"

@Verite @Ringmaster @C.T. @Jeremi

"Well, isn't that how it works? They always say, you gotta know your enemy inside and out if you want any hope of beating them. Intimately, even. Something like that. Look, I've been staring at this jester wannabe for a while now. I can even read his thoughts." Meira took a long pause as she eyed Hisoka. She stared at him, opening and closing her mouth as if she was idly chewing on gum.

"... I can't tell you what he is thinking. It's not appropriate for mortal ears."

@Verite @C.T. @Ringmaster @The Tactician @Jeremi @Holding Cells

"The clown, behind bars on account of murdering one poor sap. Only one, and we're lucky that he didn't get to claim anyone else, though he keeps mentioning some woman he took a liking to named Bazett every now and then..." Ocelot would answer Shizuo, before continuing to speak, "As for the other... Orchestrating a faux Murder Game, and enforcing a dictatorship upon a city that he took advantage of. And somehow, the clown is the one who gets everyone," he sighed, before giving Kieran a brief glance and a shrug. He otherwise ignored Meira, probably for the best.

"I've got it under control here... though with a man as unpredictable as this, who can ever be sure?"

It was amazing that Handsome Jack technically committed more crimes than Hisoka, as far as the Coalition was concerned within the Murder Games.

tumblr_ntywvfS0IA1s6bqo7o1_500.gif

"Perhaps it's my magnetic personality," Hisoka said playfully, using whatever strange powers he had to conjure a heart out of pure energy, "Sticky like gum," he continued, before facing the others, sending the energy heart right towards the direction of the group, before it would dissipate upon contact with the energy barrier that separated him from them.

"I'd simply adore the chance to have a taste test out of you lovely boys... and girl, I guess, but alas, I'm afraid that our soldier won't allow it. Be mad at him, not me!~"

h1ABsLN.jpg

"Enough with the run-around, clown. Why were you making a commotion earlier?" He questioned, intending to interrogate Hisoka, akin to a black-clad vigilante giving his arch nemesis clown a thorough questioning.

tumblr_inline_nwt3xcca1W1rsaze3_540.jpg

"Mmmm... Say, Mister Jaguar... I always wondered, why are you just so magnetic? It's almost like you're stronger than you let on. And that's just a tragedy! Hiding away power like that! Why don't you--"

"Answer the question. And it's Ocelot to you. Major Ocelot."

"Phooey. You're no fun," Hisoka pouted playfully for a moment, "Though... Wouldn't you really like to know?"

Prologue: The Unextraordinary Turnabout

As dragged on as meetings could be, there was a Coalition member out there rather interested in what was being said. Shi-Long Lang, still fairly new to this whole Multiverse deal, listened carefully to everything said, taking in the information and adding it to his still growing database on this whole thing. In fact, as tempting as the library was, Lang's interest was piqued by the mention of prisoners causing trouble. If anything, he could be of use getting whoever it was down there to shut up.

Trailing behind the rest of the holding cell posse, Lang appeared just as Ocelot explained what they'd done.

rou-show(d).gif

"Not doing yourself any favors by keeping us waiting, Mister Clown. I understand you want nothing more than to get some time seeing something other than your cellmate, but we do have business to attend to that you're getting in the way of."

What business that was, Lang didn't really know. But he did know he didn't like the looks of this guy. Too much like another clown he had the misfortune of dealing with.

6qhyCMq.png

"Of course!" Makoto quickly said. Robin and Ritsuko might as well have been very special guests, considering how important it was to keep them happy for their time here. Makoto was eager to please, at least in the hope that doing so would cause the United Nation to be more lax in the future. All it took was one leak to destroy the camaraderie they had managed to establish so far.

"Er-- I mean, of course you can explore, not that there's something wrong with it."

Byakuya looked at the fallen Bibi with open disdain. He sighed loudly, looking to Makoto and Kyoko. "We really do just let anyone join, don't we?"

Z3Dlm91.png

"B-Byakuya..." Makoto looked aghast at Byakuya talking so openly in front of their UN guests. He wasn't sure what to say in response to that precisely, so he decided to just roll on past it. "It's very nice to meet you, Miko Wanijima. Or, would you prefer Miss Wanijima...? We've gotten so many new recruits recently, I haven't had much time to meet them all. If you guys would like a tour, one of us could give you one! Or just hang out here... if you'd like. Up to you!"

"I am unsure if food items can be eaten in the Command Centre, brother," Madoka states.

"With all this technology, I'm sure a pest problem isn't really a problem."

"Don't be too certain. There are other kinds of pest problems."

Oh ho ho was she right. Uncle Iroh, the Producer siblings, Word Girl and Two-Brains would stumble upon quite a scene - Add getting pretty worked up!

"I've only heard of 'my first period' from one boy, and it was never this bloody," Kido crosses his arm, eats a donut and comments. "You have more experience with puberty-driven instincts, now do you, sister?"

"Not really, but even a fool can tell that this is no child, and that is no mood swing. Well, not the puberty-driven kind anyways."

"You wanna bet?" Kido reaches into his sister's pockets, pulling out a stuffed animal. "Add~ someone wants to be your friend~"

"Sounds wonderful, Robin. I'll keep that in mind once this settling in process... settles down~ Either way, my friend will have to step it up and speak more than her own silence!"

Giving that smile over to Robin and the other UN members present as well as the others with the Coalition, Add was certain that a tour of the Coalition HQ would be great to get Elesis acquainted with this location, considering that he'll start dragging her along for some help for what he has to do. However, a single thing caught his eye.

"... k... k... KITTYYYYY!!!"

Squealing as loud as he can, Add leapt over to the cute lil' green cat plushie, hugging the little bundle of joy in his arms. As this happened, Elesis only stared in silence, not sure on how to respond to anything occurring around her.

"Well someone's got quite the mouth despite their dashing looks. Back at my home you'd get decked in the face for that." Miko spoke in turn, a false plastered smile on her face at the man Byakuya as if threatening him as her AT wheels spun harsher for a few moments before her eyes turned towards naegi once more, the wheels slowing once more buzzing with a low hum as she spoke up again.

"Like i said, please call me Piranha Queen, but if you must, use just plain and simple 'miko'" she answered him with a calmer tone. Eyes darting once more around at the people within the command center. So this was just a small faction of everyone huh? Maybe she should've asked her uncle kazu to join in the fun before she came..well it's too late for that.

"A tour would be nice to have though! The more knowledge of a place the better i say!"

@Atomyk @command center
"I would be very honored to have a donut." He responded kindly as he took a donut from Kido.

After seeing the confrontation, Uncle quickly tried to intervene saying, "I think a tour around this place would be lovely! I would love to hear more about the fancy technology you all have created."

However, a single thing caught his eye.

tumblr_o090s9b4y61v3qowuo7_100.png

"... k... k... KITTYYYYY!!!"

Squealing as loud as he can, Add leapt over to the cute lil' green cat plushie, hugging the little bundle of joy in his arms. As this happened, Elesis only stared in silence, not sure on how to respond to anything occurring around her.

WBJfeMo.webp

"His name is Pinyakorata. Back where I come from, he's a friend to children, teenagers and adults of all ages! And now, he's your friend!"

Now that the berserking madness that is Add has been pacified... well... there was no more berserking.

glXTgGe.webp

"So uh... is he going to..."

"Yup."

Madoka looked at Iroh, Two-Brains and WordGirl, shrugging her shoulders.

As a tour was suggested, the Producer siblings nodded.

"He...is gone. His soul is no longer part of this universe"

The other's browed furrowed in a way that was not foreign as she gave her response. Her fist slammed down against the table, making the tea cups rattle-almost on the verge of falling over.

"I don't believe it. It's not possible! At worst he needs to still be in the spirit world!"

"At first, I did not believe it myself. Even in my years in the spirit world, I have never heard of such an evil force as the Murder Games, but I assure you, it is real. The spirits do not lie."

She glanced over the dark spirits giving her malicious glances back at her, almost moving in to attack her, but stopping as if they were waiting for the right moment to strike.

RV3IReF.gif

Ever since she came here in search for the reason behind the disappearance of one of the members of Team Avatar 2.0 a month ago, and a few days later the spirits attacking mortal people...and even each other. As soon as she stepped through the northern portal, everything became worse as two dozen spirits ambushed her as if they knew of her arrival.

Now, after managing to calm the spirits, only for them to become dark soon after, she found council in Iroh, a friend of two generations of Avatars. He told her of what had happened to Bolin-how he was taken out of their world and put into another one full of despair. As he died there, his spirit was unable to come back to this world a

"Please drink your Jasmine tea..,it will calm your nerves," he puts a soothing hand on her shoulder at some point in the conversation. "It will soothe your nerves and have you think with a clearer head. At this point...in this place, it is imperative for the Avatar to have a sound mind as to not upset the spirits even further."

She only nodded as she took his advice and sipped tea. Near the end of the discussion, he stands up and gives her a hug. "Now is a good time for you to go home and try and calm the spirits and people in your world as best as you can. While you are doing that, I have found a way that can save Bolin and restore balance to the world."

"No I should go. It's my job as the Avatar."

"It is your job as the Avatar to keep balance in both your world and the Spirit World. You are most needed here. It is my job as the friend of the Avatar to support and aid as best as I can. Do not worry, Korra, I shall bring your friend back...besides, I will not alone.:

The two of them walked back to the portal of the North. On the way, they both fought off the malicious spirits that both attacked from their bad state of mind and from the negative aura. Iroh smiled, remembering the first time they met and her aura affected the surrounding spirits.

spirits10-1623.jpg

When they got there, once again, they gave a fond embrace as she was about to leave.

She gave a forced smile, "Be safe, ok?"

He gave a warm laugh as he responded heartily, "You, Bolin, and I will have a fond discussion about our adventures over a nice game of Pai Sho. Now, be a good Avatar and give balance to the world. I believe in you."

His kind smile was still there even after she left. There, he sat down and chanted to transport his non-physical body to the meeting he was scheduled to go to. Hopefully, as he was saving the world with Korra, he could save people's sanity in the meeting on the side.

"Add~ someone wants to be your friend~"

wordgirl02.jpg

The sound of breaking glass reverberated throughout the halls. A certain red-suited superhero was chasing a certain two-brained scientist around. The superhero, WordGirl, was more annoyed than she was worried. After the long chat they'd had, she thought he'd agreed not to do this.

"Cheese! Cheese! Cheeeese!" the scientist, Dr. Two-Brains exclaimed. A ray gun in hand, he was shooting things left and right. Everything he shot turned into a clump of cheese, which one might guess he planned to hoard and eat.

"Stop right there, Dr. Two-Brains!" WordGirl shouted, zooming ahead and grabbing the scientist's ray gun. With almost no effort expended, she crushed it in her hands. A troubled expression graced her face, the look one might give her child after they'd been disobeyed. "I thought you agreed you wouldn't do this until we got home..."

Normally, Two-Brains would come back at her with a retort, but he knew she was right. "I'm sorrrry, WordGirl. It's just that, what is a guy like me supposed to do without any cheese? Or ray guns? Or cheese ray guns?"

WordGirl sighed and set her feet upon the ground. The two were nearing the Command Center now. "You have to behave while we're here. Especially since everyone has been nice enough to help us."

"Yeah, yeah," Two-Brains replied, a scorn on his face as he headed into the Command Center. Some of the other members were already there, a number of them engaged in a brawl of sorts. Two-Brains had learned by now not to interfere with the matters of others, but WordGirl wasn't one to stand by while people were fighting.

"Hey, hey! Can't we all just get along? We're all on the same team, aren't we?"

Two-Brains carried on to a nearby table that the Producer Siblings and Uncle Iroh were seated at. "Heya, guys. Got any good munchies today? I'm starving." Seeing the donuts on the table, the scientist picked one up and bit into it. "It's not cheese, but it'll do. I s'pose..."

The fight having ended, WordGirl made her way over towards the table, where Uncle Iroh was just mentioning a tour. "Ooo! A tour sounds really spectacular!"

"How about you just answer the damn question? I don't know how patient the Major and the others are, but I sure as hell don't have the time for your bullshit."

The unspoken threat was clear as Shizuo almost seemed to radiate with his rage at the man, barely keeping himself from punching the energy barrier.

Immediately upon hearing Shiki's name, Ilona's eyes sparkled.

4zgc5jK.png

"Oh, good sir, your appearance before me 'tis an honor most high! A blessing of the Sunnnn!"

The young woman had exclaimed this a bit too loudly, standing up and suddenly grasping his hands in her own. Realizing her behavior may have been a bit improper shortly after, Ilona let go of Shiki's hands and gracefully bowed in apology. The princess had an elegance about her, even when she spoke too loud. "Forgive me, but I know of you. My mother told me stories of the great Sir Shiki Tohno who aided her during the dark times of her participation in a Murder Game. I am the daughter of Queen Elsa and Sir Solaire of Astora, Princess Ilona." She brightly waved to Shiki's familiar afterwards. "It's lovely to meet you as well!"

@Verite
Shiki05.png

"E-Eh?!"

Perhaps needless to say, Shiki was taken quite aback when Ilona would suddenly yell strange words at the top of her lungs and take his hands, though he couldn't even be too mad or otherwise mystified by it, considering the manner in which she apologized was... familiar. In fact, the way she acted in general was...

Wait a minute.

What?

"Great Sir Shiki Tohno... What... You're Miss Elsa's daughter?! You're Ilona?! But you're... you're so...!" He could only exclaim, apparently completely caught off-guard by the revelation of her identity, even if he had suspected something of it just before it was spelled out for him.

Or maybe he was more surprised he was apparently once referred to as "great sir."

iZIaAJ0.png

"Sorry, this is all... very surreal right now. It only seemed like Miss... Ah, your mother... was only just a few years older than me when I knew her, and to meet you as old as you are... I suppose the multiverse really does work in mysterious ways," Shiki spoke with a light laugh.

Len03.png

"..."

Meanwhile, Len would only seem to think stranger things of Ilona, seeming to not have any idea what she and Shiki were talking about. Otherwise, whether because she couldn't or wouldn't talk, she didn't seem to add that much presence to the conversation at hand.

Prologue: Breaking the Ice

Peace was something seldom to be found anymore in the world of Remnant, that much was quite obvious. From the fleets of none other than General Ironwood near constantly crowding the skies, the whispers behind closed doors, the crime scenes and grimm attacks occurring nearly anywhere you went. No, it did not take a wise man to know that the era of peace that had finally come to the land was quickly slipping through it's fingers.

So it was simply natural that unease plagued a couple of the land's aspiring defenders, though these things were not the cause.

42141241352_zpsb89fde95.png

"Absolutely not."

The words were firm and decisive, their speaker clearly not intending for any room for discussion to be left. "This is absurd. Lending a hand to the Coalition on occasion is one thing, but from what you've said? All these tensions that could so easily explode into something more? What about our war?" the female went on, pure white hair dancing down in waves as she moved to cross her arms.

gzVHfGw.gif

Ruby's face seemed to contort a little as she began to think...

It was obvious that convincing Weiss to go along with her on this particular journey across the multiverse would be difficult. However, she had to think of something! It wasn't just their own lives on the line, but someone else's... Though maybe not their life itself, it was their freedom that was being challenged.

"Pleaaaase? I know we have our own war to fight here... But... ... It can wait, can't it?" She pleaded, then she stopped for a moment, realizing how crazy she probably sounded.

MlMFvCN.gif

"I mean... Uh..." She tapped her fingers together for a moment, trying to reword what she had previously said.

"We're not at war yet! Not here... Besides... This is what we're trained to do... Right? Even if we have to... Break a few rules... We're supposed to fight for what's right! We're supposed to protect people who can't protect themselves! We can't just... ... Pretend there's nothing happening at the Coalition at all..." She said, drifting off a little.

Looks like the tensions at the Coalition really were bothering her, perhaps the whole debacle over Ilona affected her alot more than she had let on? Naturally... Her friendship with Sophie might be a leading cause for her unusual amount of concern over Coalition matters at the moment.
It didn't matter that Ruby was giving her a look, or even that she had started off with a 'please'. It was all immediately dismissed by Weiss, who already had a firm reply. The same reply she'd given this same girl what felt like forever ago, when they ran into each other at orientation. "No." Alas, as nice as it would've been to be able to keep her answer that simple, the young heiress wasn't as cold towards Ruby anymore, and she felt a small obligation to go a little more into it than that. Sigh. "Listen, Ruby...-"

"-I know we have our own war to fight here... But... ... It can wait, can't it?"

"..."

423452347_zps8404a40e.png

It was a good thing that Ruby was quick to catch and attempt to explain herself, because it had taken naught but a moment for Weiss to give her a scrutinizing look upon hearing her words. Every word was plucked from the air and heavily thought over, until a hand finally raised into the air in front of her, motioning Ruby to be quiet. Like it or not, the other teen had a point. One that she couldn't deny, even if she wanted to. "I'm fully aware of our duty as huntresses, Ruby. You don't have to lecture me," she declared. There was a pause before she spoke again, though she was less than excited about what she had to say. "I hope you realize this goes against so many rules..."

4214124589_zps72776c6f.png

"...but I suppose that, in the rest of our team's absence, it would be my duty to go after and protect you should you find some way to get to the coalition..."
Ruby smiled a little, looking visibly relieved that she would at least have Weis's help.

zkluQLT.gif

"Thanks Weiss... I'm sure we'll find a way to get to the Coalition..." She said.

Despite normally being quite hyperactive, it looks like Ruby was genuinely touched by her teammate's response. Looks like they sure had come a long way since they had first met, even if they might still be at odds at times.

"Oh! I even packed my stuff already, just waiting for the riiight moment to go, is all!" Ruby added, holding up her backpack.

Oddly enough... It seemed a bit bulkier than usual, and appeared to have a strange grey suitcase hanging near the back of it. Looks like she might have made a few modifications to get everything to fit, whatever she had with her looks to be quite important... At least, important enough to haul with them, whenever they headed to the Coalition, to figure out the coming situation with Ilona.

Despite having a little extra baggage, Ruby seemed unhindered by this, but one could almost swear that her backpack... Moved a little.

'Thanks Weiss'? Really? The mere phrase was enough to make the heiress roll her eyes. "Oh, please. I'm not doing this for you, Ruby. It's simply our job, whether it means going against a few rules or not. And if we're going to do this? We're going to do it as a team." This sort of sentiment didn't often come from Weiss, especially when it came to Ruby and her shenanigans, but she knew that her team leader had a point.

This was what they were trained to do. Help the people. Uphold the peace.

As Ruby explained she'd already packed and such, though, Weiss did mentally facepalm. Looked like Ruby really had planned to go, even if she didn't agree. It was admirable, on some level, though Weiss would never say so. Especially because it was equally idiotic and ridiculous. No matter how strong she might be, there was no way that she could handle some sort of oncoming war on her own. It was still a massive stretch, with just the two of them, but as was often said? Two is better than one. And, apparently, there were more than two - because Ruby's bag was visibly moving, and Weiss had a feeling she knew just what was in there. Or, rather, who.

There was no time to confront Ruby about it, for Weiss's train of thought was broken when she could have sworn she heard footsteps. Very familiar, refined, distinctive....

Oh, no.

4214124272_zpsae1a1cbf.png

"...Winter!"

r32r2%2023_zpsgoyakwlh.png

In return, there was only silence. The eldest of the Schnee sisters stood tall and firm, her arms neatly folded behind her back in a militaristic fashion. She stared at the two huntresses in training with an unreadable expression for a long few moments before she spoke. "Sister." The warmest greeting, of course. There was a pause as she gave Ruby a scrutinizing look, observing her bag and how it squirmed with a lack of amusement. "I don't suppose you'd care to share just what, precisely, you two are up to?" It sounded less like a question and more like an order.

Ruby looked like she was seriously about to drop her backpack and hug Weiss or something. Though her fellow team mate had yet to completely warm up to her, it looked like they were at least making progress... However, before she could make any such motion, footsteps could be heard in the distance and quickly... She slipped her backpack back on, attempting to regain her composure. Though she had no idea who was coming, she most definitely wasn't about to-... Uh oh. As soon as the person came into view, she quickly realized exactly who had come along.

1wv83bh.gif

"Oh! Hello... Ma'am! We're just... ... Practicing our social etiquette, is all-" Ruby started, but in her attempt to do a polite curtsey as she spoke, she ended up losing her balance.

"Waaaa!" She shouted.

Flailing her arms around a bit, she managed to regain, though not before she ended up falling into Weiss... By pure accident.

"Um... Yeah, we need to... Praaaactice..." She said, trailing off a little.

Welp, looks like there's still some things about Ruby that might never change...

The new arrival watched in pure silence as Ruby attempted to cover up her intentions before winding up falling onto an unfortunate Weiss, the both of them crashing to the floor with a thud. "Ugh, get off of my, you dolt--" the younger Schnee started, beginning to sit up and thus give Ruby a light shove, only to realize she wasn't helping the situation. Quickly, she attempted to cover up her mistake. "Erm... I mean... You still have a long way to go, Ruby Rose. I'm afraid we'll have to resume... practice...."

"..."

That was it. The stare she was receiving from her elder sister was too much, too knowing. Much to Weiss's dismay, her sister clearly saw right through their lie. And it was much more to her dismay that she hung her head, unintentionally fessing up. "We've been called to attend a meeting concerning multiversal crisis that our assistance may be required to sto--"

"Silence!" Winter cut in, speaking with a harsh tone as per usual. "Neither of you are going anywhere," she stated, firmly. "And you," she added, turning to narrow her eyes at Ruby. "...You ought to practice holding your tongue. If you continue to run your mouth as you have, the entirety of Remnant will know of your plans."

The silence hardly lasted a moment before Weiss broke it like ice. God, this was going to be painful.... But it needed done. "Winter, please. We have to go. If you truly heard our discussion, don't you agree?" Silence, thicker than the most suffocating cloud of smoke. Well, it looked like this wasn't going to be as easy as Weiss or Ruby may have hoped.

hqdefault.jpg

523523%2026_zpsb2bkzbys.png

"...Fine. But you are not departing without my accompaniment. So long as this mission lasts, neither of you are to leave my sight. Do you understand?"

Wow. Well, Weiss had not expected anything to work on her sister, no matter how long it took. She supposed that the stubbornness just ran in the family- much like their semblance. But thank goodness she and Ruby had managed to get through to her... Even enough to gain her help in their mission! "Of course!" ....Had she perhaps acted too enthusiastic? "...Uh, I mean... You have my word, dearest sister. Your assistance is much appreciated," she corrected, finishing the statement with a curtsy.

-----

The meeting was long and, quite frankly, felt as though it would never conclude. But at least Weiss knew a bit better what was going on, now- Intel is a woman's best friend, after all, as she had proved many a time. But at the moment, that was of no matter, for it looked like they had some downtime before the meeting was to resume. "A perfect opportunity!" she had called it. After all, it wasn't every day that you got the opportunity to tour a major multiversal industry. Maidens only knew what kind of information and more could be found here!

4214124253_zpsaed59cb5.png

"Personally? I say we should start at the library. A wonderful opportunity to learn everything we can about the vast expanses of the world..s, I suppose. Can you imagine what might be out there, Ruby?"

She had pretty much forgotten her sister was there at first, so used to it being just her and her teammates. But as soon as she realized, she felt like an idiot and quickly shut her trap. But thank goodness, Winter said nothing, and merely began to lead the way to the library.

"--Hmm?"

The young woman would blink when Artyom would approach her, seemingly surprised that he would do so. Fortunately, despite his heavy accent, it would seem that the maid-looking woman would understand him just fine, giving him a smile.

"Oh, no, it's nothing... Just a certain droid likes running around and getting dirt all over the place. In an organization like this, you'd probably think that the first priority is protecting the multiverse, which... It is, admittedly, but even so, you can't ignore cleanliness!" She said enthusiastically, "How you present yourself to your friends and enemies can really go a long way, you know! And I personally would rather we not give either the impression that we're messy slobs."

"Oh... Sorry, I got a little carried away there," the woman continued with a sheepish giggle, before clearing her throat, "My name's Chisa Yukizome. Are you... perhaps new to the Coalition? I don't believe we've met before."

@Nater Taters
Artyom watched the woman, taking in what she was saying. To be honest, Artyom didn't make a huge deal if something is clean or not, all that mattered was survival. To him, it didn't matter if someone came up to him covered in the blood of watchmen or spiderbugs, in fact, he saw that as a good thing, that told him the person could handle themselves in the Metro.

Still, this wasn't the Metro, so her points did have validity to him.

He came to attention when she introduced herself, Chisa Yukizome...hm, she seemed a fine enough sort, as least for now.

"A pleasure to meet you Miss Yukizome....I'm Artyom. I guess you could say I'm...new to the Coalition so to speak, guess I'm more of independent ally to be honest." He paused, hoping that made sense

Hmmm....

Like Qrow, Lucifer opted to remained silent in favor of scrutiny. This was the first time he had met Hisoka in person, but he knew his sort well enough and what drove him. Same with Handsome Jack and really, it just cemented his belief in joining up in the first place, the unmeasurable truth. No matter where you came from or what sort of race you were? It was an irrecoverable fact that nature remained much the same.

Greed, violence, lust for power influenced everyone from the lowest to the highest. It inspired wars, incited men and women to depravities and created a lot of situation wrought by zealots and monsters. Sometimes, both of them were one and the same. And with that measure of nature, came their responsibility to attempt to be better.

Lucifer would remember that errant thought later, concerning human nature.

For now though, he stepped back and moved about the cell block, looking at the basic structure as well as the numbers, separating briefly from the group. Saber noticing grew curious and followed. The priest seemed to have a particular goal, before he paused at a select cell and opened it. Her curiosity growing, Saber peeked inside.

It was a cell, much like the others. Not much in the way of amenities. The safeguards were off in this one, Lucifer himself simply...Standing in the middle of it. Hands clasped behind his back and head bowed low, the overall effect somewhat reminiscent of a judge in the dim light.

"....Master? What is it?"

".....Her name was Mary. This was her cell."

Saber blinked in puzzled confusion. Lucifer chuckled ruefully and turned around to leave it. "Its nothing Saber." Saber eyed him carefully, the shadows unimpending her vision- A bonus to her particular race as Lucifers eyes shone bright.

"Nothing at all. Any progress?"
"Right, so both sickos who like to screw around with people's heads. Great, not like I have to put up with someone like that already."

Shizuo grumbled, staring down the clown specifically. While Jack might be the more dangerous one based on his crimes, something about the trickster just seemed... disgusting and enraging to him. His fists clenched as he listened to the criminal screw around with them. His glare only grew more intense as he responded to Hisoka's rhetorical question.

"How about you just answer the damn question? I don't know how patient the Major and the others are, but I sure as hell don't have the time for your bullshit."

The unspoken threat was clear as Shizuo almost seemed to radiate with his rage at the man, barely keeping himself from punching the energy barrier.
"....I like him." Saber declared aloud, the pair hanging back as Lucifer closed the old cell, glancing back into it one last time as the doors closed. Continuing, she added quietly.

"He seems more inclined to draw things out then anything. The jester."

Lucifer hummed quietly in response.

Having being given the opportunity Doctor Ziegler was fascinated by the words spoken in the meeting. Though she had found herself alone throughout it due to being rather new in this environment. In all her carrier as a doctor and scientist she never would have believed in such a gathering. Not dressed in her Valkyrie armour just her casual attire she walked around the large gathering of people trying to recognize anyone in the crowd so far the only recognizable thing was the booming sound of an old friend in the distance. "of course already being loud" she mumbled to herself as she choose to go to the library which the source of the sound was coming from. Though she hoped up gain more knowledge about the history of all these events as well while she was at it. Quickening her pace she went to the library.

"I'm so... what?" Ilona innocently asked, her eyes widening a little. "I'm... so very full of the radiance of the Sun? Why yes! Yes I am!" she exclaimed, filling in the blanks with something she wanted to think people thought of her. "Although I must agree with you. I find it odd that the multiverse works in such a strange manner! If the world were to flow naturally you should be a much older man, and yet here you are still about the same age as myself! Astounding!"

Vn7FH9H.png

Smiling excitedly, Ilona then reached into her pocket and pulled out an orange flower she would place in his hands. "For you, the kind man who aided my mother and father. I cannot thank you enough. Without your help, they may not have survived back then and... then I wouldn't have been born, of course!"

Clearly bringing Remilia here wasn't the best of choices...not that Black would ever say it out loud with her close by. Normally he wouldn't care but considering she was much faster and stronger then he is....well he had a reason not to speak bad about her. "Think that revolver guy went towards the prisoners... .Guy looks like he has some skill....might have some fun after all..."Well now even Black was interested in the prisoners himself...well not them but who went to check on them. Oh boy well at least it seemed like nothing all that crazy was going on right now...

Zen stared at the boy with the startling blue eyes, raising his voice as he threw a tantrum. In some ways, the kid reminded him of himself, striving to prove himself and show somebody that he was more than what he looked like. It was ironic he was giving somebody the treatment and judgement that he didn't like, but this boy really was... a child. "Haha, sorry, little man. You're just as much of a hero if you've fought monsters before," he said, chuckling lightly. "I won't make fun of you again~"

He couldn't help but laugh at his drawn weapon, it looked like something from a children's stage set. Harmless, not even remotely dangerous but there was no harm in entertaining him.

Qu894Bp.gif

"Woe is me! I've been hurt!" Zen exclaimed, swatting the plastic sword away from his coat, pointedly avoiding that terrible, terrible pun.

Now his companion.... was interesting. Zen himself was 5'11, and this... creature was looming over him like a giant shadow. Although the creature looked intimidating, the expression it had on it's face showed a different emotion. Ah, it almost reminded him of poor Yoosung. "Don't worry about it, I like his spirit." Friendly creature and a rather energetic boy, if he could, he would have ruffled Nemo's hair.

His attention shifted from the struggling Nemo and his companion to the ladies beside them, his face freezing as if he had been caught in headlights, mouth open in a small 'o' as he realized their presence.

WyBu5hc.png

"What an honor to meet a pair of pretty ladies~" he winked at them, marlot-colored eyes blinking at the duo. "Nice to meet you, sweetie~ My name is Zen, and your lady friend here...?"

Had he really not recognized us...?

Well, that was fine if he didn't. Sakuya's expression didn't visibly change, just continuing to give him a slight smile. She also took note of the various others in the room, most of them she couldn't recognize, but a certain creep school boy was familiar to her. As Erron spoke of the man with a revolver and Zen finally noticed herself and Remilia, the maid began to answer them in turns.

"Are you planning to get in a quickdraw contest with him?" She suggested to the cowboy with a shrug before turning her gaze back to Zen. She gave the man a curtsy in response. "This is Remilia Scarlet, the master of the mansion at which this man and I are employed. Pleased to meet you."
nOdkSlp.jpg

Admittedly, Nemo had felt a bit guilty for excluding Sakuya and Erron in his earlier comment. But while he had no animosity towards them and even had a fondness for Sakuya he didn't quite understand. Perhaps due to that weird sense of familiarity he got from her. Though aside from being the one to suggest coming here in the first place, Nemo didn't exactly know what to really say other than that. She didn't even want to get the bullets out and hate him or not, Nemo wasn't letting the cowboy get near him with a sharp implement!

"Well...Thanks for not stabbing me when you had the chance to I guess. Also your powers are pretty cool. " Nemo mumbled as it seemed like the only appropriate thing to say given that Remilia out of the three of them was the one who had helped him the most. When she had bit him, it numbed the pain for a bit and she even got rid of the bullet! Though with all of that aside, he struggled while still being held by Astaroth's tail. He wasn't going to let that Zen guy get away with ignoring him to talk to the grown-ups! He may not have been old or even very tall but he had courage!

Just look at The Kid! He had blonde hair, bright blue eyes, a sword, a winning smile that made all the ladies swoon, a voice that would charm anybody man or girl! He was so cool he couldn't be beaten in a fight! Nobody could topple The Kid! Not even getting his left eye gouged out had changed him to much!

K7RT6Mh.jpg

Though, maybe the resemblance to The Kid still needed a bit of work.

Oh yeah! In all of his annoyance with Zen's comment, he hadn't even noticed the trail of blood on Remilia's face! He should have offered to wipe it off for her like a gentleman would have! Too late now though, he supposed. But as Nemo continued to listen in, his jaw dropped at the latter comment.

That small human's

small human's

Believing Nemo to have finally calmed down, Astaroth set him down upon the floor and unwrapped his tail. Brushing himself off, Nemo scoffed as he looked Remilia over. Sure, the dress was frilly and stuff but she still made it work somehow! Sure, the fangs probably looked like something you could have gotten at the local party store. Sure, the wings weren't even that impressive when you took into account that Astaroth had four pairs of wings! He even had wings on his head!

But calling him small was almost as bad as mocking him for his age! He drank a cup of milk and checked his height every day! He would be as tall as Astaroth someday! But he wouldn't reach that point if he had to put up with naysayers like Remilia! Which is why Nemo folded his arms and grumbled.

w7ukBpt.jpg

"I don't mind if Cowboy or if the cool teleporting-maid call me it. But I won't stand for you calling me small when you're just a shorty yourself!" Nemo didn't care how scary Sakuya and the cowboy made Remilia out to be, he wasn't about to stand here and be referred to as nothing more than a 'small human' if he had a say about it! Flashing Nemo a grin, Astaroth sighed as Sakuya brought up a good point.

They probably wouldn't get anywhere very fast if they just went every which way. Though he supposed knowing Nemo, the kid probably would have wanted a tour of the place. Extending a claw towards Zen, Astaroth frowned as it was clear his wariness with interacting with humans was still present. "Name's Astaroth, kid's name is Nemo."

This cocky kid.

"You're 500 years too early to talk to me like that. You sure are full of it, even though you're just a kid. I'm not exactly hungry, but do you want me to drink the rest of your blood too? I can overeat a little bit if I have to."

He hadn't minded the human comments before, why was he bothered now? Drinking his blood might've been the way to go here. The weird way he was totally okay with her sucking his blood was preferable to...whatever this was. She waved him off huaghtily, not even looking in his direction as she did.

Up to you!"

She paused looking at all the new faces, a bright smile growing on her face at each new person before the sound of kirigiri and naegi's voices grabbed her attention once more.

"Ah, i just thought i should more properly introduce myself to my superiors and that i could maybe learn a bit more information by listening in." She spoke somewhat sheepishly, her tone pulling in and out with confidence in fluctuations, the sound of her wheels churning in place but her not moving slowly filling the room with background noise.

"Oh dear you okay there Bibi??.." She asked bending low and offering him a hand up. "Oh right! Back on track." Turning to everyone and all the new people she reintroduced herself. "I'm Miko Wanijima, but you all can refer to me as Piranha Queen." Her voice spoke in happy inviting tone as always.

Robin nodded, and straightened his tie. He still never got used to the feeling of a suit. He wore "Mr. Naegi, it's my pleasure. I wanted to talk abou-."

He was interrupted. By Ritsuko. Robin quickly shut his mouth, and looked down at his wrist where he began fiddling with one of his cufflinks. "No, Miss Akagi, there isn't anything wrong with that." He said, sighing. She followed him everywhere, like a dog. Corrin's observations noticed it was a lot like Camilla or Darv and how they followed her, only in a more threatening way, like she was keeping an eye on him.

Add walked in after Ritsuko. "Excellent. Introduce me to her when I have a chance. As you can see, I'm a bit overwhelmed." He laughed.

@Gummi Bunnies

"Yes, Mr. Naegi, that would be very pleasant." He ran a hand through his hair. He personally didn't care one way or another what the Coalition did, so long as he had contact between them and his office. Arc lent several scientists over to the Coalition, and they had worked on several projects together. It was the bureaucrats in the General Assembly and those in UNCED who wished the Coalition to fulfill their every order. He straightened his suit jacket again.

"Like i said, please call me Piranha Queen, but if you must, use just plain and simple 'miko'" she answered him with a calmer tone. Eyes darting once more around at the people within the command center. So this was just a small faction of everyone huh? "Umm..."

Makoto was a little surprised to see so many people crowding the Command Center. It was a little disorienting. No one was going to get anything done with all these people here. Byakuya only scoffed at the negative reaction his comment made, as if this was par for the course for his interactions with others. For Makoto, it was just amusing at this point, if not a little worrying considering their company.

"A-Ah, sorry! Definitely, Miko... or, Piranha Queen." He smiled warmly at Miko, before regarding the others with a sweep of his hand. "Well... Kyoko is probably right, we might not have time for a full tour, actually..."

It didn't help Makoto's mood that Ritsuko's comment seemed particularly... barbed. While Robin was very easygoing, there seemed to be a lot more going on with Ritsuko than most would assume. Whether or not what she said was just an innocent statement, it was still something to consider.

Though momentarily silenced by this realization, Makoto eventually cleared his throat, realizing he had a solution. "But, that doesn't mean you can't learn about the headquarters and what we do.

Letting the other visitors talk amongst each other, the lavender haired young woman would clear her throat after a while.

"I'm not sure if we exactly have time for a tour, even a quick one. The recess is only one hour long, after all," Kyoko stated, resting her chin on her fist.

"Perhaps it's just as well. You wouldn't want us snooping about and finding something... confidential after all," Ritsuko spoke. Her tone made it hard to tell how much she was joking, if at all, her gaze fixed upon Makoto as she talked. With that said, she took a sip of coffee from a mug she had grabbed back at the lounge, not minding the others beside them either.

"Excuse me miss... have we met before?" Kido pondered about Kyoko. "You do look a little familiar... What is your name, miss?"

There's always the library for info! Kyoko, Byakuya... Can you two hold things down here? If anyone wants to come to the library, I'll show you the way."

Makoto found himself feeling pretty excited to just show everyone to the library. He just needed today to go well. For anyone who wished to go with Makoto, he would have led them to the library in no time.

Hearing Makoto's mention of the library, WordGirl saw it as the perfect opportunity to gather more information regarding their circumstances. "We'll tag along too!" she called out, dragging Two-Brains along with her.

"W-Wait! What about the donuts?!" the scientist cried out. He hadn't eaten all day, and his stomach was practically begging him for something to eat. Such was what led to his sudden outburst earlier.

"It is a general rule in libraries to not eat in its premises. Keep those donuts for later, Professor Two-Brains," Madoka sternly glares at the rodentoid PhD holder, "please respect the environment."

Kieran had been nervously watching Lucifer, noting as he seemed to recognize a certain cell in particular. There was no other reason for him to pay attention to an empty cell beyond the obvious, which meant the grapevine of information had simply become longer than Kieran liked. He knew there was no helping it, and calling attention to this would only be a poor course of action...

But Kieran was adept at taking the poor course of action.

"What were you doing?" he asked Lucifer, once he had joined the others. "And tell it to me straight."
Saber twitched, but was disarmed at the voice of her master. There was no anger, nor annoyance. Nothing to denote the general reaction of a man insinuated of doing something he shouldn't have been doing. Rather there was...Sorrow. True, mournful empathy for a person he had never met nor known, save as a footnote on a record. Lucifer's words were simple and empty of guile in reply to Kieran.

"I was paying my respects."

The ironically named preacher smiled wryly if sadly, the faint glint of fangs the only evidence besides the eyes that he was anything more then what he looked like. Continuing, he spoke more blithely.

"With so many cooks in the kitchen, it was a minor detour. Have we gotten a straight reply out of the man?"
