Artyom was a still little shaken by the explosion. It had happened so quickly, the explosion. It almost reminded him of.... The Dark Ones.

They deserved what they got, they were god damn monsters, why do you feel pity for them.

They weren't monsters, they wanted peace with humanity, it was....my fault they died, it was all my fault, the fire...the smell of burning flesh.

Artyom shook those thoughts from his mind. He noticed Train nearby an walked over to him

"Good to see you made it out in one piece, where to next?" He asked

@Klutzy Ninja Kitty
@Lounge

The explosion reminded Train of that day. It seemed like only yesterday, and yet quite some time had passed. He remembered running as fast as his legs could carry him, the adrenaline in his veins fueling him to move even quicker than ever before. The male could remember hearing fireworks from the town's festival in the distance. On occasion, the assassin would stop to ask others if they had saw her, a girl with short hair, green eyes, and a long kimono covered in flowers. Eventually, he crossed a couple of children who seemed to know where she was.

"Over here! It's the lady from the midway! She's hurt bad!"

Train rushed after the kids, stopping in horror at the sight before him. His dear friend Saya lied on the ground, smothered in her own blood, a grinning man standing over her with his sword stained in crimson.

"I was wondering when you'd show," the man said. "I wanted to tell you personally that I finally released you from the nastiness this witch has been casting over your life. So, let's get out of here--"

Train smashed his gun against the man's face and rushed to Saya's side, cradling her in his arms. It was there she died in his arms and for the second time in Train's life the anger of revenge gripped tightly around his heart. He wanted to kill Creed, this man who had taken away someone so bright and innocent. Right there and then he wanted to kill Creed...

...but he didn't.

A tanker, hit by fireworks, exploded nearby. Instead of taking the opportunity to fight this man and end his life, Train instead turned to the three little kids who had helped him find Saya.

He reacted without thinking, rushing to grab them. "GET DOWN!" he screamed, tucking the little ones under his coat, using his own body to shield them from the flames.

Train remembered waking up a week later. It took him that long to recover from his wounds. Somehow, this incident in the Coalition reminded Train of all this. He remained silent until Artyom would address him.

Putting their giant silver chicken down, the siblings helped Zidane, using their strength to get the rubble off Bibi. Should it fail, the woman conjured a flugelhorn from nothingness and used it as a lever to fling the rubble away.

As they finished, the siblings returned to handling the unconscious humanoid silver robot they found.

"Blondie," the youthful-looking male says to Zidane, "you take care of your friend, we've got a giant goose to handle."

Off to the Med Bay they went.

"Thanks!" ZIdane called out to the two unknown duo.

And with the unconscious Bibi in hands, Zidane rushed to the Med Bay.

Before the Explosion

Ruby sighed in relief, seeing that the boy would be okay despite all that had happened... Maybe she didn't have to worry too much about his whole not having an aura all the time thing?

...

In the meantime, Zwei appeared to be responding quite well to Scott's petting, staying still for once as he panted a little... But at some point, his ears suddenly pricked up and he stood really still, his eyes darting around as his ears twitched a little.

"Arf!" He barked, only once before he started running off in Ruby's direction.

Looks like he had a feeling something was up, but it wasn't certain exactly what it was...

...

The sound of Zwei barking suddenly caught Ruby's attention, and as the little dog rushed towards Ruby, she blinked in surprise as he jumped behind her.

"Hey! You hungry Zwei? You hungry boy?" She asked, petting him a little.

Though, she still couldn't quite understand why he was so eager to reunite with her all of a sudden, other than maybe because she forgot to pack some food. The announcement that came on, notifying them of the meeting coming back into session, Ruby groaned.

"Don't worry Zwei, I'll feed you as soon as this thing is over!" She said encouragingly.

Then, trying to stick as close to Weiss as she could, Ruby headed off to meeting room.

...

It didn't take long for something to go wrong though, as it was just when Ruby was heading into the room, the whole process of filing in had taken a good while considering the crowd, and it didn't help that Zwei kept squirming in her arms, to which she had eventually put him in her backpack again.

Just as Ruby was getting settled into the meeting room, after Weiss, and with Jennifer, a close friend of hers roughly in her sights, somewhere behind her, a distant rumbling sound that shook the building immediately caused her immadietly to tense up standing in a defensive position as she looked around, trying to determine the source of the rumbling.

K7mcK2e.gif

Drawing her Crescent Rose, she noticed the rumbling was coming from the walls nearby, and so, she turned towards it, keeping in front of Zwei, and probably the rest of the group she was with... For once, she was eerily quiet, as she didn't like this one bit.

However, as prepared as she was for a massive hoard of Grimm, or an army of demons, or heck... Any incoming enemy... Nothing could have prepared her for the coming explosion.

Her Crescent Rose barely helped as a torrent of flames burst throught the walls and into the room... She could already see red chaos energy enveloping them, as Wanda bravely tried to protect them... Though even that, might not be enough as the torrent of flames engulfed the entire room, obviously from a rather powerfull explosion. As the flames reached her, she could feel it's heat coming towards her, and her aura draining... Before a burning feeling shot through her body... Her vision was obscured by the bright orange color of the flames...

...

6 Hours Later - Aftermath of the Explosion

Ruby was not too badly injured... Sort of; her aura, and Wanda's magic, had shielded her from the worst of the damage... But her skin was red, and blistered in places, with a few occasional darker spots here and there. Fortunately, she didn't seem to suffer from anything more than second degree burns to the front of her body.

Zwei was okay, surprisingly, and appeared to have been unharmed inside of Ruby's bag, but he was whining, looking noticeably concerned about the whole thing.

When Danse spoke Ruby didn't seem to notice, she had her mind somewhere else... She had recalled what had happened immediately after the explosion... Her vision was returning to her as she looked around, surveying what had happened around her. Though not many have died, there were still casualties... And a multitude of injured... And... ... Jennifer! She... She wasn't moving when they had carried away on a stretcher, was she-... ...

"Jennifer! I need to... I have to..." Ruby stammered.

She looked towards Weiss, then to Winter, then to the others in the area, before she bolted down to the Med Bay, the only thing that could be properly seen being her red cape in the process... Leaving behind petals as she went, it looked like she was intent on checking up on Jennifer, the last expression that could be seen on her face was one of great worry, and possibly fear. Though she still felt quite some pain from the burns she had recieved, the andrenaline coursing through Ruby's body seemed to make her numb to it for the moment... But it was likely she might need some medical attention sooner or later, her aura didn't seem to be doing enough to heal her burns on it's own.

(@Med Bay)

...

Zwei in the meantime had fallen out of Ruby's bag as she had been in a rush. However, as soon as he hit the ground, he attempted to join Weiss, wherever she decided to go, well... At least he would keep her company, for the time being at least.

(@Others With Weiss I guess)

At the medbay, Wanda was on bed rest near Ruby and the Comatose Jennifer. Wanda seemed weak as she stared into space. Even from a far, it would be easy to tell the witch went through the wringer.

Meanwhile, Wynne lightly put her hand on Ruby's shoulder. The older mage had a kind smile on her face as she look at Ruby. Maybe it was her age or temperament, but her aurora was a gentle one, Holding a vile, she offered it to Ruby.

" Here. It's a healing potion, dear. Take it, I've made more than enough for everyone."

Chapter One
"Civil Blood in Civil Hands"

Once the time had passed, a voice, notably that of Co-Commander Kyoko Kirigiri's, would ring out from the intercom throughout HQ, indicating that the temporary recess from the meeting was coming to a close, and that it was time to go back to business.

"Attention, all those in recess from the multiverse meeting, please begin to gather back into the meeting room, and prepare to reconvene."

With that said, everyone would begin make their way back into the meeting room, including Nurse Akiko Yosano, manager Doppo Kunikida, Kieran, Meira Franz, and even high-ranking members such as Makoto Naegi and Byakuya Togami. The crowd was rather large, making it a little hard to keep track of whoever you might have been walking with, though it was of little consequence. Right?

From the corner of Ilona's eyes as she would walk with everyone else back into the meeting room, she would spot a strange figure, obscured from clear view, heading off not towards the meeting room, but in an entirely different direction. Off towards the Library...

After spotting the mysterious individual, Ilona felt inclined to turn around and follow after them. For all she knew, it could've been someone who missed the announcement. If that was the case, the young woman felt she should offer this person a kindness and let them know so they wouldn't miss out.

ibokvzW.png

"Excuse me!" Ilona would shout out, following after the stranger. She made her way for the library, certain she saw the person wander inside. She opened the door and began to head in, looking around to see if she could find them.

However, mysteriously enough, when she would enter the library, Ilona would be unable to spot anyone around. The place seemed to be empty, as though nobody had entered at all. Strange... It couldn't all have been part of her imagination, right? However, a continued search wouldn't result in very much, until...

CRASH!

A heavy mass would fall from the upper floor of the room and slam right onto one of the many tables, breaking it. It was almost as if the mass were thrown violently from above into the table, though what it exactly it was, would remain unclear. That is, until the dust would settle, and the sight would suddenly become clear as crystal to Ilona.

The dead body of agent Jill Valentine lay on top the wreckage of the table, motionless.

Her eyes were open in an unsettling manner. There was no doubt she had been attacked, judging not just from her expression, but also the bruises on the front of her neck, like she had been strangled, only for her neck to ultimately broken with the fall. However, if Ilona would look up to try to find who had done this to her, she would ultimately find no one around. The culprit had escaped as quickly as he had made his way into the library...

But Ilona wouldn't even look around to try and capture a glance of the culprit. No, the young woman couldn't find it in her to see past this tragic display before her and worry about who may have done this awful deed. Her blue eyes remained fixed on the body, as if she were in a trance. The princess stared into Jill's cold, lifeless eyes, a feeling of unfathomable distress overcoming her senses. Tears began to stream down her cheeks.

UCUqey6.png

"N-No, this can't be!"

The blonde was used to seeing death around her due to her travels across the multiverse. Yet, somehow this death felt different to her. Jill Valentine had been a friend, an invaluable ally to both her mother and father during the first recorded Murder Game. Seeing that she had been so close and yet had not been able to prevent this tragedy created a feeling of deep regret in the princess. It was as if she had not only let Jill down, but her parents and everyone who had known Jill as well.

Knees trembling, Ilona began to take unbalanced steps back as the walls of her chest rapidly contracted around her lungs. She squeezed her eyes shut and lowered her head, clamping her hands over her ears. The sight of this despairing picture had entirely shattered her emotional control, and the loss of said control invited a dark presence to fester and grow within her, expanding at an alarming rate.

This very presence was what the Coalition dreaded, the same threatening energy they had been discussing in their meetings. This unstable energy of malevolence bubbled until it would burst from its host. Ilona had absolutely no control over it, a scream erupting from her lips as the power ruptured from inside her.

"Noooooooo!" the princess exclaimed, a massive, fiery explosion of destructive energy set off in unison with her screams. The entire Coalition HQ would be rocked from this deadly explosion, any areas caught in it greatly damaged by the unleashed malevolence.

- - -

A few seconds earlier...

jd2HfSL.png

Back in the meeting room, the conference was still in the process of getting re-settled in. Just as before, there were plenty of people looking to be seated and hushed. There was much conversation being had on the sides, whether over the concerning news of multiple threats within the multiverse, such as the Revanchists and the Blood Institute, or idle conversation among the numerous members of the many organizations present, or whatever else anyone else could think to talk of in a place such as this.

kiri011.png

"..."

Conversely, sitting in the center of the room, Kyoko was rather reticent, and looked deep in thought over something.

g9rbgeR.png

"..."

Makoto looked similar, sitting a few spaces away from her and looking down at his hands.

Anyone who had visited the Command Center first thing could imagine that it was likely something to do with whatever Kyoko and Makoto were talking heatedly about, though frankly, it was anyone's guess. Byakuya probably knew something more about it, though anyone who knew anything about him could guess that asking him could result in a caustic, condescending reply, or best case scenario, the cold shoulder.

Whatever was the case, personally, Kyoko had a bad feeling rising inside her. What she was trying to talk about with Makoto before they had been interrupted... It hadn't been resolved the way she had wanted it to be, or rather, resolved at all. Because of this, she was troubled. She felt like she was about to have a premonition come along. Like something horrible was about to happen.

Coincidentally, she wasn't the only one to feel this way.

Among the many individuals in the room, Coalition member Gwen Stacy would suddenly start to react strongly to something in the air... though what it was, there was no telling at the moment.

1DIbH8W.png

"!"

She let out a gasp as her Spider-Sense would start buzzing deeply, strong enough to cause her a small headache. The young woman let out a lightly pained groan as she'd grip her temple gently, to which manager Doppo Kunikida, the person sitting next to her, would raise an eyebrow.

"Oi. You alright, miss?"

"Nnngh... Spider-Sense is killing me. I think it's trying to tell me something's up, but... I can't tell what..." She groaned, frantically looking around the room for something that looked out of place, but alas, everything was perfectly as it was supposed to be. For the time being, that was.

And nobody was the wiser.

The bespectacled blonde man furrowed his brow, wondering what the girl was on about. Though he didn't know much about Gwen, he knew enough that she had some sort of sense of premonition of danger that came true just about every time, so admittedly, he was a little paranoid as well. Still, he couldn't do anything about it. If there was some mysterious attacker in their midst, it'd be impossible to tell with this crowd. Was the danger in that someone was about to be assassinated? With this many important people around, someone could surely--

BOOM!

XKzJKCP.png

"H-Huh?! Wha--?!"

The sound of an explosion would ring in the air from another room, silencing everyone inside. The force of the explosion was strong enough that an intense rumbling could be felt by everyone all throughout the room, rocking everything and even knocking over a few empty chairs. However, if there was one thing that would set anyone off over this not being an ordinary explosion...

... It was that the vibrating wasn't stopping.

As if it was still going on.

FWOOSH!

explosion-gif.gif

Before anyone knew it, massive flames would engulf the entire room, the explosion having traveled from wherever it had come from to the meeting room like a beast. The explosion was terrifyingly powerful.

Little did anyone know then, that the eruption had not only destroyed everything physically, but it was the first step in destroying the stability between the organizations that had vowed to protect the multiverse.

And so began the change that would shake everything.

Several Hours Later...

Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, just in time, had managed to shield as many people as she could from the blast of the mysterious explosion, though it wasn't without its deaths and ramifications. Exerting her power that much against the strange power of the explosion did a number even on her, on top of the others who were affected in the ordeal.

The entire base was in a state of emergency. The library was put out of commission temporarily, though most of the other rooms, while messed up and dirtied quite a bit, still functioned to a satisfactory degree, likely thanks to Wanda's magic. Though the conference concerning the state of the multiverse had been indefinitely put on hiatus due to the sudden new matter, it was known that the higher-ups of the organizations were heatedly discussing what to do next in light of this strange occurrence, such as what it exactly was, why it happened, how, and so on.

In the meantime, they left you all to recover by yourselves. However, they also forbid that you'd leave the base, just in case that the explosion was a deliberate action caused by an unknown attacker.

Thus, you were... essentially trapped in HQ.

gT7rfyd.png

"Everyone!" Paladin Danse roared, making an effort to make his voice heard over the din of frightened and anxious voices. "If you have not yet been seen to and have an injury that needs to be seen to, please proceed to the medical bay! I repeat, the medical bay!"

The Brotherhood of Steel member was making an effort of directing those lingering around the meeting room and lounge into the medical wing of the headquarters. There was too much going on for those left to be processed to linger in the danger areas.

mRE4lJd.png

"... Sigh."

Assuming you didn't want to rest at the Lounge like before and perhaps converse with the trusty housekeeper of HQ, Chisa Yukizome, who was also looking rather beat, there were still a number of places that you could visit to pass the time while you all waited for the Administration to make a move.

For instance...

Maybe you should check out the Holding Cells? Hopefully, no one had managed to escape there, especially not a certain murderous jester...

Alternatively, you could also visit the Med Bay, whether to get yourself treated for minor injuries you might have sustained, or to see if the patients there were doing fine.

Or you could also see the Command Center and speak to the Administration there, just to check in on what they had their minds on at the moment.

The choice was yours.

Admittedly Black was getting fed up with all of this waitin' around. He had shit to do after all and could potentionally get a new bounty. Hell teasing the demon was fun and all but it had started to get old since he couldn't seem to provoke the large demon into fighting him again. So he went about his business as usual until...

*KABOOM!!!*

An explosion had rocked the area and just as Black as moving to attempt to shield Remilia it seemed Sakuya would save the day.
Using her ability to stop time, Sakuya had moved herself and the rest of her group out of the way of the explosion, preventing them from sustaining any injuries. But still, what had caused that ridiculous explosion, and here of all places? Who had the nerve to cause that to happen? Well, whoever had the nerve to try to bomb her and Remilia would certainly have to pay the price.

"Are you alright, milady?"

"...Sakuya, what just happened?"

"It would seem there was an explosion. I wonder who would have caused it?"

Sakuya affirmed the vampire's safety, neither one of them having sustained injuries. After that, she turned to Erron, Nemo, and Astaroth, whom she'd also decided to move in that time. "Are you three alright as well?" She certainly hoped so after she'd gone to the trouble of moving them. It may have been an instant to them, but to her she had still ferried around four people a considerable distance to get away from the explosion. Not easy for a single woman.

Remilia in the meantime thought a little about what she would like to do next. After something crazy like that happening, she was no longer in the mood to just sit around in the lounge, and since she had no injuries she had no business being in the medical bay. When it came to the command center, she got the feeling she wouldn't get along well with other boss types. Too many of those in a room was just annoying.

That left the holding cells for her to go to. If a prisoner had escaped, that'd give her an excuse to go and get some exercise.

"Come on, Sakuya, let's go down and see what we've got down there." Without any pause, she immediately began walking over to the cells, fully expecting Sakuya to follow. She was not disappointed.

"Black, and you two as well if you want, let's go."

Beckoning their company over, she headed to the cells after the master of the mansion.

"Bullshit time powers to the rescue I suppose..." Black spoke not entirely sure why he tried to shield Remilia when she probably could've taken the damage much better then he could've. Guess it was his want to protect his business interests that kicked in considering she did pay pretty damn well.

"I'll come along... Could always use some target practice if one of 'em tries to run..." Black spoke following Remilia and Sakuya to the holding cells.. While walking he had decided to idly twirl one of his revolvers...

"I'm alright, thanks for the help. Might have ended up in a nasty situation otherwise.." He'd say referring to how he would have had to try and take the brunt of the explosion's force to protect Nemo. But given Sakuya's strange time-oriented powers, him and Nemo had managed to escape major damage. But even so, it didn't speak well of who had behind such an attack. So many people could have been hurt and it seemed like some already had been hurt and even worse.

One thing's for sure, he was getting to the bottom of this and threatening those who would disturb the peace. Getting on all fours, Astaroth began to bound towards The Holding Cells with his tail coiled up behind him. "Save some for me, cowpoke." Astaroth growled as Nemo took a moment to catch his barings. He'd been about to offer Remilia some more of his blood when something like this happened!

Sure, Remilia probably didn't need the blood right then and there, but it was the thought that counted! What if someone like Zen offered to let her take blood from him or something? Well, that wasn't important! Shaking his head to clear it of such thoughts, Nemo tore off his eyepatch and drew his toy cutlass once more. Extending a layer of Qi over the blade to give it a lethal edge, he'd run after the others.

ex48Fvj.jpg

He was grateful for Sakuya's save and would have to thank her when they stopped moving. But for now, he was determined to catch up with the others and help to stop any scum who might have escaped from their cells! It wasn't exactly the funnest thing to do when hanging around with the person you had a crush on. But Nemo would have preferred not getting a bullet in his shoulder either and he still got one!

A few seconds earlier...

Genji and Reinhardt shifted uncomfortably, not really certain what to contribute to what was going on. The cyborg raised his hand to speak. Before he could, though, an explosion rocked the building. It seemed to be getting louder. He turned to Reinhardt and Wanda, preparing to grab someone... before the two of them felt an overwhelming surge of heat. Reinhardt leapt to his feet and dropped, knocking others over, so that the shield surrounded himself and those around him, while pressing onto the ground. Unfortunately, this couldn't completely cover them and would, at best, negate some of the blast. Both the cyborg and the crusader were very surprised that they weren't blown to pieces. Reinhardt was relieved, yet saddened by the sight of the corpses. The crusader stood up and surveyed the room. "Everyone! Are you okay!? We must investigate the source of this disaster!"

Genji, however, was horrified. He ran after Wanda as she was brought to the med bay, which led Reinhardt to follow. He whirled to her. "Are you alright?!"

Much akin to Ruby, Weiss was at least relieved that this Shiego kid was alright, though she certainly wasn't pleased with the happening. But there wasn't any time to chew him out at all or give a stern reminder that he should be careful of what he was doing, for an announcement that they needed to get back to the meeting came on. Looked like it would just have to wait 'til later. Before she had the chance to urge Ruby to come along, or even drag her along on her own, her sister spoke her mind. "...Sister. Miss Rose." And funnily enough, that was all she really needed to say to get the point across that it was time to move out. So it was with a last nod of acknowledgement to the others accompanying them that Winter began to lead the way back to the meeting room. And of course, not wanting to displease her sibling, Weiss hurried along after with Ruby following suit.

Of course, she couldn't prevent the displeasure stirred up by what happened next. Although that word hardly began to cover it.

It started with Zwei's barks and whimpers, the animal clearly unsettled. At first, Winter attempted to ignore the cries and the one making them to the best of her ability. But she only had so much tolerance, and eventually spoke, eyes closing tightly and voice tinged with annoyance. "Ruby Rose, would you kindly silence that filthy animal of yours?" Yeah. Looked like Winter maybe wasn't the biggest fan of animals, or at least dogs. But who knows? Whether or not she were, the barks weren't the only warning sign. Next was the vibrations. They were faint- nearly undetectable, when they began. But to the Schnees, well... Their weapons were drawn just about when the rumbling grew louder. Within moments, Weiss was right at Ruby's side, blue dust her current selection on her weapon. It looked like the half of team RWBY that was there was at the ready for whatever threat that came their way.

4214124272_zpsae1a1cbf.png

Yet, nothing could've prepared them for the explosion. Not endless knowledge, not a lifetime spent studying and training, no amount of years at the Beacon- nothing. But when it came, Weiss's eyes went wide, and she immediately attempted to pull Ruby back upon sight of the flames. Well, looked like no matter how cold she acted towards her teammate, she still cared about her. At least enough to attempt to protect her from the explosion. She had attempted the same for her sister, but found herself shoved back. Looked like her sister cared enough to try to protect them, too.

And everything went to black.

-----

Weiss was a bit slower to waken, despite hardly being injured(if at all) than Ruby, but when the other did, she'd find Winter was pacing before their beds. However, she ceased upon hearing movement, though her back was still turned on the girl. Slowly, though, she turned on her heel and faced the young fifteen-year-old. She appeared to have suffered quite a few burns along her arms, lower legs, and back, but she hardly seemed any less elegant and poised than ever. Though she didn't speak at first, simply glanced over the girl's injuries. And just as she was about to speak, the girl had said something about a Jennifer before suddenly racing off. Dammit! Just as dimwitted as he uncle. "Ruby--!"

There was a faint groan from Weiss as she herself stirred, slowly sitting up and lifting a hand to her head. It wasn't difficult to remember what had happened- the sound of the explosion still echoed through her head on repeat, and it was almost as though she could still feel the ground shaking beneath her. Nothing hurt too bad, but she was a bit confused. There were others bedridden around-, her sister stood over her bed-- ..Wait, her sister! "Winter!" she exclaimed, swinging to her feet and taking in the sight. The burns... Almost as though reading her mind, Winter scowled faintly, raising a hand in a gesture for her sibling to be silent. "I'm fine."

Despite wanting to, Weiss knew that arguing this would get her nowhere whatsoever, best case scenario. Worst case scenario? It'd get her a ticket straight to bitchslap town. So reluctantly, she dropped it. And just as Weiss was about to ask where her teammate was, she noticed the petals. She blinked for a moment before shaking her head, suddenly taking off without another word after her friend. "Ruby!" Winter was left to reach after her younger sister, only for her to already be gone. The hand was lifted with a sigh, instead moving in so she may facepalm. Less than pleased, she followed after, a serious expression set on her feats. What an absolute pain in the--

4214124869_zps62de5f07.png

Finally having caught up, hardly even noting Zwei had joined up with her along the way, Weiss keeled over and attempted to catch her breath, possessing less stamina than Ruby and, on top of that, still a little groggy from only just having come to. "D-do you...-" she started between pants, slowly raising her head to look at her team leader, only to appear as though taken aback. "Wh-what are you doing?" she snapped, suddenly looking less than happy. "You're injured, you dunce! You should be getting medical attention!" she scolded harshly, not having heard what Wynne had said moments before her arrival.

Deoxys didn't take a seat when the meeting resumed, watching over a sea of myriad organisms and beings flood into the massive space, occupying their respective seats in an orderly fashion as they turned to their leader-- their alpha, the one whom they place trust within as the head of this union-- Makoto, awaiting his words.

Deoxys found it the slightest bit amusing, but also interesting. Placing so much trust in a single being, who doesn't seem fit to actually "lead", moreso to "order"-- would this be a leader? Or, is this a boss? What value did this human being hold that gave it such a position over this many organisms? Perhaps, it is the same variable that made Ryan stand out to Deoxys-- the unknown, shifting factors of humanity and society that it couldn't explain with cold definition. Things were just the way they are, no easy explanation, it is just how it is.

Deoxys didn't ponder it any further, as it wasn't the only thought-reader in the audience and the last thing it wanted was to agitate everyone by even thinking about what'd it be like if the leaders were...not leaders anymore.

"...!"

0d4e2bbdf056ebfe4940950d263972e0f4e72123_hq.gif

It couldn't ponder it further, as its senses suddenly flared to life immediately-- everything went intense, as if a sudden, catastrophic release of energy occured. Deoxys would instinctively look around rapidly, its eyes twitching to different organisms trying to pinpoint where it was coming from, what it was, and how to stop it. Before the explosion shattered the walls and brought flame and death unto the audience, Deoxys' form suddenly shifted to a bulkier mass-- Defense Forme. It flew forward and stood in front of however many organisms that weren't being protected by Wanda already, wrapping its arms around itself and uttering...

"Iron Defense."

tumblr_mikp3lhp121rtatqpo1_500.gif

And, for each unit of time that passed since it came, Deoxys would remain.

--------------------------------

Several hours later...

Deoxys silently stood among the carnage and the damage caused by the explosion, staring around at the charred ruins of the Coalition HQ, floating past rushing stretchers and the once orderly members of the Coalition, their mental limits now displayed to Deoxys without any need for mental reading;

Some of them were in panic.

Some of them were silent and pondering.

Some of them weren't moving, with faint brain signatures.

Some of them...had no brain signature at all.

The alien did not have much sentimentality on the outside about the situation, its complex mind was running through every variable and trying to source how it had all began. The energy signature that occured before the explosion had physically reached the Meeting Room was...intense. Even for Deoxys, there was no way to define what it was. It was just energy, some kind of energy, that came and caused immense damage to...everything, with 100% effectiveness.

Deoxys had already regenerated the damage its outer body sustained by this point, but...if it had reached its core, the supposed outcome would most certainly have been immediate death, or critical condition beyond repair. That prediction alone made Deoxys, for once in its existence, worried-- or, at the very least, concerned.

"...Curious. What was the last mental signature detected around the Library before the meeting that resumed?" It asked itself.

...

Deoxys paused, turned, and began to head towards the Holding Cells.
When the explosion occured Ilona lifted her head just in time to see a burst of deadly flames reflect in her blue eyes. The young woman let out a gasp and teleported herself away from the fiery mass at the heart of the library. She remained at a distance from the others, watching as Wanda protected a majority of the people from something she had caused herself. But Wanda couldn't protect everyone...

"I-I killed people," Ilona whispered to herself. I caused damage to this place that was so very kind to take me in and try to help me. Th-This is my fault. I'm a monster... I-I never wanted this to happen! This has never happened before! Why now? Why around so many people? This is horrible. I'm scared. What if I do something like this again? I-I don't want to hurt people!

The princess teleported herself away yet again, hiding herself in one of the vacant cells in the Holding Cells. She squeezed herself into a corner and put her hands over her head, hoping that nobody would see her or even try to look for her.

Dearest Sun, I only wish to bathe in the light, please spare me from this darkness. I long not to harm those around me.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she remained hidden, hoping that nobody would come to look for her.
As Ilona weeped, a familiar eery presence seemed to enter the Holding Cells.

An alien shadow loomed past her dark, lonely cell, someone was looking for her.

Something was looking for her.

Genji's words seemed to go over Wanda at first. Here eyes seemed like they were staring blankly as her mind was consumed in thought. Breaking past her mental haze, Wanda's spoke meekly, but her worlds lost no meaning,

"It's not the stillness before the storm that I fear, it's the storm itself, Believe me. I have seen his storm many times."

Wanda's answer wasn't straight forward, as it seemed. The woman seemed torn, mentally and physically she wasn't in much better shape. However, that didn't stop her from trying to get out of her bed. Stumbling out of he gate, Wanda seem dead set on leaving

The funny thing about life was that it was when you were more aware of it that death came easier, at least, in Shiki's opinion.

Not to say that it was any easier to die from a situational point of view depending on how you viewed the importance of life and death, but Shiki had personally found that way back then, when he had so naively thought things like "It doesn't matter if I die" or "It's okay to go out like this," he didn't take into account how many times he had so narrowly avoided death. The encounters with the vampires back in Misaki Town, the fight with that Servant, the battle against those aliens, the battle against the Arch Demon, everything.

All the horrifying monsters that he had fought in his life, and yet, it was the fight with man, the most dangerous game of them all, specifically a man codenamed VECTOR, that made him realize how close he was to death. He was no exception to the fragility of the world he saw before him with his Mystic Eyes. When they took effect, everything and everyone in the world before him was so fragile... Like ants, they were able to die with just the right kind of touch. And he was no exception to that.

It was then that he realized the importance of life. A life that a person was obligated to make the most of.

Shiki had been knocked out for the count for a small while, the impact of the massive explosion knocking him into the wall even despite Wanda's magic attempting to shield everyone. His body lay below, amidst some freshly eroded ruins of the headquarters, unnoticed by most for a few until he'd eventually wake up, bolting up with a gasp as he'd regain his breath.

fufT7AY.png

"U-Ughh... Gugh..." He initially gasped like a fish out of water, a small cut on his face visible. When he would come to, recovering after being helped into the Lounge by other members, Shiki would spend some time healing up in a seat, biding his time as he'd attempt to gather his bearings.

What could have caused this? Who...?

His heart beat harder than a hammer beat a nail. He could feel it in the air. What had caused it. Something that was definitely beyond human. His Nanaya instinct... Though he hadn't used it like this in a while, it wasn't like there was an on or off button for it. When there was a powerful presence nearby, one that exuded energy like this... He had to follow it. Like a moth attracted to a light bulb.

It... It can't be...

A shared nod and both split, Saber marching as her armor clanked and her sword materialized in hand. If the Jester had been freed? Saber Alter would be ready. And so she marched onward, the implacable glacier towards the holding cells.

Lucifer followed in the wake of Robin and Corrin, keeping pace with the latter as he asked on their way to the command center.

He knew exactly who would pull a stunt like this!!

Ignoring his injuries (he needed to focus on capturing their suspects, going to medical would just waste time!) Lang rushed to the holding cells to see if any prisoners were unaccounted for. Who knew ifthe culprit had managed to escape? For all Lang knew they could've snuck out and back into a cell to make themselves look innocent.

@Verite @Atomyk @Ringmaster @Jeremi @Klutzy Ninja Kitty @Holding Cells

He was grateful for Sakuya's save and would have to thank her when they stopped moving. But for now, he was determined to catch up with the others and help to stop any scum who might have escaped from their cells! Those who would arrive at the Holding Cells would find a number of the cells around damaged, though thankfully, the Coalition didn't have that many prisoners to begin with, but it was of little consequence.

Emphasis on "little," as in, there was still some consequence.

Case in point, those who would want to ensure that no prisoners had escaped would Revolver Ocelot standing next to the cell that had held Hisoka and Handsome Jack from before, his arms crossed and his face scrunched up into an expression that wasn't too pleased in general. Not that he had much reason to be cheery, except for maybe feeling some fortune that he didn't seem to have a single scratch on him.

"If you're here to ensure that no prisoners have escaped... I have some news for you," he said lowly, as though irritated to have to relay the news that he had discovered for himself earlier, it seemed, "One of two of our high profile prisoners have escaped. The culprit from the Carnival Incident, Hisoka," Ocelot revealed, gesturing towards the dark cell beside him.

The base was powered by emergency lights at the moment, though there didn't seem to be any in the cells, so it was initially hard to tell, but further inspection in the cell would show that the only person inside was Handsome Jack. He seemed to be conscious, in case anyone would want to "politely" ask him some questions.

"Otherwise... What do you need?"

"Excuse me! Everyone!" Shiki would exclaim, showing up at the area shortly after everyone else. Stopping behind everyone, he'd grind to a halt, panting lightly after his run. It was amazing that despite all his abilities, all his accomplishments, his constitution was, at times, just as low as you'd expect from a pale young man like him. And he used to have anemia.

"Does anyone... know where Ilona is? Anyone?" He'd ask, not aware of Ilona's location.

Ocelot furrowed his brow at Shiki's question, but didn't respond, simply shrugging.

There was a melancholy air overhanging the Command Center, even as Coalition technicians ran about the area to tap away at various keyboards and monitors. Talking was muted, as just about everyone present had more important matters to see to than idle chatter. Those looking to find Makoto would not find him here, with only Kyoko and Byakuya around as representations of the Coalition's leadership.

fbiZIdu.png

Byakuya, who normally looked unfazed by most anything around him, seemed to glower more than usual now. He was bathed in a soft red light that indicated the headquarters was in the midst of an emergency situation. "It's rather clear at this point what caused the mishap," Byakuya said, speaking openly to Kyoko. "Both our wand division and our resident malevolence expert has confirmed the source. It would seem our... special guest... had some kind of episode."

tumblr_oct9uhHpdR1qjpyfno1_540.png

"Then... I suppose that your walking happy accident finally exploded?" Ritsuko, also standing in the Command Center as one of the two primary representatives of the United Nations, would ask.

For better or for worse, at least from Robin's perspective, he'd only sustained minor injuries in the ordeal, getting away with a not too painful hit on the head and a small burn mark on her cheek.

tumblr_static_uhura_icon.png

Nyota Uhura, one of the two representatives sent by the United Federation of Planets, would cross her arms, looking in Ritsuko's direction. In contrast, the woman didn't seem too badly injured, if at all, from the explosion that had just occurred.

"... Happy accident? What are you talking about?"

"A long story. One I'm sure other people would be more than happy to elaborate upon."

"Are you saying... Some of you expected this to happen?" Carissa, also in the Command Center without any severe injuries, would inquire.
RTwWgkr.png

"... Hmm."

With a pensive expression, Kyoko could only sigh softly in response to Byakuya's words, having shut out the words of the nearby older women. This was indeed a sticky situation. One that the lavender haired young woman disliked being in.

Especially considering what she had believed about the ordeal. And it wasn't just for the sake of being contrarian against the boys.

"Even so... Have we considered any lacking variables? Outside forces that would have perhaps deliberately triggered the happening? If this had been going on for this long without an incident, then you can't very well detain the subject just because of an instance of manipulation."

"... And come to think of it, how do you know about--?"

"I'm the second-in-command of the United Nations of the multiverse. I know everything that must be known, girl."

3vVWXFh.png

Morrigan looked uninjured as well, though a dull frown had settled on her face in the hours since the ordeal. She looked first at Kyoko, regarding her with a look that conveyed utter disappointment. "No doubt that we at the M.E.U. are not worthy of such information," she said, turning her head to eye Ritsuko. "Though we have become an official branch of the Coalition that I and my coven have placed our faith in, 'twould seem we are not highly regarded, hm?"

Byakuya let out a sight and met Morrigan's gaze. "It's a matter of relevancy. Relevant information is passed on to the relevant parties it affects."

"And so..." Morrigan's frown deepened, turning a sneer. "He admits the M.E.U. stands outside relevancy. I see."

"That's not what we mea--" Kyoko would begin to protest in response to Morrigan, before being unexpectedly interrupted by an arrival.

"Boys, girls, please. Can I have a moment?"

All eyes turned on Alvin, a Coalition agent, who was striding into the room. He moved around the guests to stand by Kyoko's side. "A report, just for you." For whatever reason, Alvin was singling out Kyoko, an action not missed by Byakuya. It was he who had jurisdiction for cloak members like Alvin.

The Ultimate Heir eyed the man for a moment before speaking once again, choosing to ignore Morrigan's comment. "It was a powder keg ready to blow, and then it did. There's very little to discuss, especially concerning our present company." Byakuya gave Ritsuko a very brief sidelong glance.

"... We should speak more when Naegi and the Captain-Commander are present. Where are they?"

kiri008.png

"I think I saw Makoto head into the Med Bay. I can't say where Kieran has headed off to though," Kyoko responded to Byakuya.

Taking the report given to her by Alvin, Kyoko would briefly gloss over it, looking at the reports. This was bad. How could they have been so careless in a situation like this? The young woman pursed her lip in a troubled manner. A few dead, one in a comatose state, and several more notably injured.

Human remains in the library... What was someone doing in the library at that point in time? Think, think... Could it be that the person who was gone then, and was still missing at the moment, turned out to be--

The doors would slide open as everyone who would go to the Command Center would be granted access to the room, coming across all the Administration and representatives of each organization, seemingly busy in discussion or thought over what to do next.

Looking at the group, Kyoko would give her usual stone gaze.

"I have to find Ilona. She needs me."

"Why? You need to rest!" Genji seemed confused.

Reinhardt frowned, but put a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Who is Ilona? I can bring you to them, if I can find them."

Genji now seemed bewildered.

The medical bay was packed, for the amount of injured was at a distressing high. The room filled with the sounds of both the anguished and fearful, for some of the injuries sustained were on the verge of critical.

Kieran fussed over Meira, who just looked annoyed at how close he was getting to her new stump. A piece of the ceiling had cleanly removed her left arm, though it was Kieran who seemed more worried than her. "Is there anything you need?" he asked for the third time.

5G3JRyV.jpg

"Ugh." Meira looked away. Her arm had been seen to, but it was insisted upon that she stay bed ridden, despite her protests. "Didn't need a left eye, so I don't need a left arm."

"Come on, you have one of the worst injuries here..."

Nearby, Jude Mathis was gritting his teeth as Leia wailed into his ear. A white glow was emitting from his hands as he held it over a large gash running up Leia's arm. "Come on, Leia, you've had worse than this..."

1hk7jIA.png

"But my legs! They're totally broken!"

wQXDEtb.png

Jude sighed. "It's okay, it's okay..."

"Oi, oi, keep it down over there," Akiko would call over to Leia, a hand poised on her hip as she'd walk over to her, "Either tough through that pain and let it heal on its own, though if you really want, I can make the pain go away right now... so long as you'd want to go through a lot of pain right now in exchange. Hmmmm? What'll it be?~"

Akiko had always been a typical mad doctor-like person with rather unorthodox methods, but nobody could argue with her results. The thing was, the method to her madness was that her special power, something imbued within her being from back in her home world, had a special condition before it would allow her to instantly heal someone back to satisfactory condition, so long as they were originally half-dead. Thus... She usually brought it upon herself to do the "half-killing" her patients if they wanted or needed immediate recovery that badly.

Her preferred tool was a saw blade. It was never fun, but it worked.

Still, the other condition was that she had to wait a while to recharge, so it wasn't too useful in situations where a large number of people were injured. That was the reason she wasn't going around beating everyone within half of their life, after all. Not because she cared about being looked at as insane. Kunikida already looked at her that way anyway.

Makoto stood over Jennifer's unconscious body, eyes closed in what was undoubtedly an expression of emotional pain. Though not physically injured, the explosion had affected Makoto in a different way, rocking him to his very core. He was the leader of these people, those that sat injured in the medical bay, some in horrible condition. Though the death count so far had only confirmed to be two, that was two too many.

Makoto had promised them hope. All they had received was despair.

p7zXrQ9.png

Then there was Jennifer, the poor girl who had been Makoto's friend for the duration of his time with the Coalition. He had once promised her hope as well, and now...

PX3okrb.png

As others would enter the Med Bay, Akiko would look back at the new arrivals, letting out a sigh as some people certainly looked to be in better shape than others.

"Huuuh? More people? I guess it can't be helped... Some of you look perfectly fine, so I'll just cut to the chase; are you here to help out or just talk?"

Makoto didn't look to Ruby, only balling his hands into fists. "Ruby... she's..."

With that said, the bartender moved to take a place behind Robin as his subordinate. It seemed best that he let the more level-headed leader get and give him the answers he wanted.

"...So the crazy clown may not have been lying after all." That was all he got out before the whole room got hit. Thankfully, between Wanda's best attempt at protective intervention and his own aura shielding him, he made it out relatively unscathed, just casually stamping out lingering flames on his cape. "Hrm. And here I thought Firecracker had the biggest fiery tantrums." He muttered in a low, deadpan tone.

Still, even that couldn't compare to the pandemonium that followed. Chaotic disorder, caused by possible infiltrators with a penchant for fire. That wasn't at all...familiar. That was why he spent much of the several ongoing hours falling neatly into his assumed role as the drunkard. Just the right amount of slurring and staggering. Nobody had time for that, just as nobody usually gave homeless people the time of day. Which is why they made such useful informants. The act let him observe as much as he could with eyes keener than his drinking would suggest. Allies or not, if they had been infiltrated and attacked...yeah. "You know, gotta say I didn't expect you of all people to be here. Or at least one of you, probably not from my world? Hell, surprised Ironwood in any universe would just let you leave. Ole Jimmy, him and that thick metal skull of his, always trying to appear in control when he clearly isn't. But enough about him, you're here and he's not. So what, Icy, did you desert him and sign up with this group? Here to bring your cold attitude and throw it around as only a Schnee can?"

I see."

5pdOBjl.png

"That's not what we mea--" Kyoko would begin to protest in response to Morrigan, before being unexpectedly interrupted by an arrival.

lxpZhMD.png

Fsssh.

The doors would slide open as everyone who would go to the Command Center would be granted access to the room, coming across all the Administration and representatives of each organization, seemingly busy in discussion or thought over what to do next.

Looking at the group, Kyoko would give her usual stone gaze.

"What the hell happened?" While the others seemed to keen to help. Bekka was interested in how this happened. "I see you people running around like headless chickens not telling us what's going on." She'd glare down on Kyoko. "Why should we risk anything if we don't know what we're facing?"

Lois meanwhile didn't try to stop Bekka's questioning. She too was curious to see what Kyoko had to say for herself.

Though the man initially wouldn't notice the group, he would blink eventually, registering you here. It didn't seem he had taken notice of Ilona teleporting into one of the empty cells either.

Jack would be sitting on his bed, groaning and clutching the back of his. "Ugh great. More people to make my headache worse!"

"Ruby... she's..."
Oh man, this guy. He's emotional, very serious. It bothered Mob, no aura or anything, but still managed to cover the room... In a thick layer of despair, despair that Mob simply couldn't notice due to his lack of emotions. He was really weirded out. Mob, being indifferent on the matter, not sided with hope nor despair, just stood there and watched Makoto cry. He had nothing better to do but watch a finely dressed crazy-haired man cry over a girl he doesn't know. Mob wanted to do something. Buuut....Mob still didn't really care that much. Like, if he wanted to help, he would have to like make a speech and say it and inspire him and everything...

Mob looked to Ruby, a girl his height dressed in red, waiting for her response on the situation. Mob wasn't good with despair, even if he wasn't sided. He knew the feeling, he just like...Didn't feel it, hence, being stiff as a board when it arises.
