"C-Can... Can someone please..." Victoria took a moment to gather herself, sounding almost out of breath. "Someone please tell me why I'm in the list of suspects? Maxine was...!" She wanted to say Max was her friend, but she couldn't really say that, could she? They were hardly friends, truth be told, and it wasn't like this place's Max was the girl she knew anyway.

"... It doesn't matter. I could never have done something like this. I would never want to see Max hurt like this. Or... anyone. Besides, after what I saw the stuffed animal here do..."

Jude tried to look sympathetic, leaning forward in his podium so Victoria could see him. "We just need to be thorough, Victoria. I doubt this was you." Jude then turned to look at Jack. "Something like that wouldn't be on her school records. While it could be just a mark, I'm not sure I'd lean toward that idea at this point. I mean, no struggle? No wounds? If not suicide, we might have to assume drugs were used."

In response to Jack's question, Klim said, "ah, no... it's Klim. K-L-I-M. Anyway, I believe it was mentioned that panel was in Jefferson's office, not mine. Your entire team had access to that office all day, including the young girl here." Klim nodded to Victoria, who just gave him a glare in return.

As for Meira, she shrugged and stretched her arms. "What can I say, Samurai? When you gotta go, you gotta go. Lesbian here probably was up to some shady shit, though."

"It's Bullet. Do you want go, asshole? You think 'cause you're a girl you can just talk shit? Dude or chick, I'll deck you too if I have to."

"Nah... I just say whatever comes to my head. You should try it some time. You seem super wound up, so I bet you got a lot of built up shit to let out. Let the shit talk flow, as I say!"

Bullet shook her head, letting out an exasperated breath. "What am I even doing here? I have nothing to do with any of this."

Oh rats. It looks like Genji and Nono were not able to access the CCTV. Now they'll never know the truth.

Or will they?

"... It doesn't matter. I could never have done something like this. I would never want to see Max hurt like this. Or... anyone. Besides, after what I saw the stuffed animal here do..."

A mysterious, raspy voice emerged from a supposedly-unoccupied podium. This voice was directed at Victoria.

"Please... write your name on a piece of paper and hand it over here, Ms Victoria... Shimada-san... can you help pass it?"

Jack sighed before raising his hand, "I will start us off, if that is alright, Miss Kirigiri? First off, may I ask if the supposed birth mark on Maxine's neck was truly what we believe? Perhaps some sort of medical record of the victim is kept at the school that can reveal if she had a birth mark? Second off," He turned to the principal, an appraising glint in his eyes, "Principal... Khan, correct? Who had access to your office and the hidden space behind the panel? It seems odd that empty syringes would be kept there..."

"So she was out of your sight, correct? For how long was she? Peculiar that one would seek to be out of sight during the fire alarm, even when they attended to the needs of the bathroom."

@DBZ7 @Atomyk @BarrenThin @Jeremi

"It...was about four minutes." Honey Lemon responded. "I know that because I was nervously looking at the clock the entire time she was gone. Because you know, fire alarm and all. As Meira came back she...told what she had "produced", which umm, I don't think is pertinent to the case."

"Ah, apologizes, Mister Klim," Jack responded, bowing his head to the man before nodding to Jude, "And with the fact that we discovered those syringes, there is even more reason to believe such a thing... Hmm... Was there anyone who spent a great deal of time with Jefferson before he was killed? Perhaps someone who did so would be allowed to know of that secret panel by the teacher's admission?"
"It...was about four minutes." Honey Lemon responded. "I know that because I was nervously looking at the clock the entire time she was gone. Because you know, fire alarm and all. As Meira came back she...told what she had "produced", which umm, I don't think is pertinent to the case."

"Sorry girl, but we'll be the judges of that. Now do you have anything you can tell us? I'd find it weird if you don't have anything to tell us." Poison responded to Bullet.

"Four minutes... Hmm..."

"Jude, do you believe that such an amount of time would be enough to kill Maxine? To use the drug injection upon her then to hang her, before hiding the syringes behind the panel?" Jack seemed uncertain of the idea, a fact given more credence as he sighed, "Personally... It seems unlikely to me given the size of the school, and given the fact that she was perfectly willing to describe her act to Honey, it seems to me Meira could certainly be telling the truth."

"And Miss Bullet, please. Meira only wishes to rile your nerves up in order to make you look guiltier. No need to become confrontational with her."

It was a good thing that the samurai had experience keeping unruly women from killing each other thanks to Zinnia and Tarlotte.

"Uh, okay..."

Victoria wrote down her name as instructed and handed it off absentmindedly as she thought over what Poison was asking Bullet. "I don't know what she's going to say, but I can't think of anything myself. I don't have anything. I was just looking for my dorm room, but I didn't find it. I didn't even see any of these people aside from Tommy."

Victoria's name was written in cursive, naturally. It would not match the note's writing too well, though who among the group could be considered an expert in analyzing that sort of thing?

"Hm..."

2mKUSxE.png

Jude thought over the time given and had to nod in response to Jack's question. "If she had the rope and the drug ready, it's possible."

"Okay, that sounds like a fun night, not a murder. Just my two cents."

"Though, uh, I doubt she or anyone else could have abandoned the syringes behind the panel immediately after the murder. Someone would have seen them moving quickly on the campus."

"Ugh." Bullet was biting her lip, looking nervously between Poison and Jack. "I don't..." She trailed off for the moment.

Klim then spoke up. "I've been thinking about it, and I must say, Mark was a very well-known and loved figure of the community. Many of the students vied for his attention and favor. Max herself spent a great deal of time with the man. It's possible any of the kids here could know about that panel. However..." Klim fixed a frown Bullet's way. "This one is a truant. A step away from being expelled. She shouldn't even be here today, considering her suspension. She was no friend of Mark's, but I do not doubt she could have known about that panel through underhanded means."

"Okay, you know what? Yeah, Jefferson wasn't my friend because the dude was actually a dick if you weren't sucking his dick. Same thing for the rest of this nasty-ass school, to be honest. Dickweed here hasn't expelled me yet because it might tarnish the school's record." Bullet smiled coolly, amused by the redness growing on the principal's face. "It sucks what happened to Max. Just another girl fucked over by this town."

"While she might be a delinquent... The eyes of justice are blind to preserve objectivity. Your personal feelings are to be separate from the matter, and unless there is evidence for her knowing of the panel, it seems quite unlikely and unjust to accuse her."

"As for you, Miss Bullet... You say that you believe the town should have been searching for your friend Rachel and several other missing individuals, and you've made it clear that you seem to despise Jefferson," The samurai thought for a moment, considering his words for the coming question, "You seem to at least think favorably of Maxine. Could you perhaps go on about your connection to her? What sort of interactions you might have had in the past?"

"Are talking literal dick sucking here? Cause that sounds like this Jefferson guy needed one or two broken arms." Poison replied clearly angry with what Bullet had just told them. "And Mister principal take your opinions about people some place else. Just because she has trouble at school doesn't mean she doesn't have anything important to say. And honestly that sounds like more of a you problem."

"I... suppose that is fair, although, what I meant to say is that just about any of the suspects here could have known about the panel, realistically speaking."

Bullet rolled her eyes, but didn't comment on that.

"I didn't have any kind of relationship with Max. We weren't friends... barely knew each other. Different worlds, you know?" She then looked to Poison, giving a cautious nod. "Probably. I mean, there were just rumors... But I know he and Rachel had a thing. I'm not gonna say she didn't initiate it or anything, but still... She up and disappears and he goes and dies? No way that's not connected. The police should have clued into that by now."

"T-That's entirely--" Klim stuttered in what was apparent rage. "That is preposterous! Mark was a valued member of this school, not some, some... pedophile! Young lady, this is slander I will not hear it from a student with aspirations as low as yours. You only seek to disrupt!"

This display only earned another amused smile from Bullet. "Hey, anyone got a smoke?" she asked.

Continued from here.

In Jefferson's office, Jack Frost would find something was different with the room than when Honda and Bolin had checked it out. A panel at the bottom of the desk was slightly askew. Opening it up further would reveal to Jack a couple of empty syringes left in disarray sat inside. Aside from that, there was nothing left to find.

***

Before the security office containing the school's CCTV footage could be reached, an announcement was broadcast across the school grounds, even heard in the dormitories despite no announcement system being in place there.

"It looks like you've found all the possible suspects! It's time to begin! Please come to the school's swimming pool for our next school trial!"

On cue, everyone would feel the familiar compulsion, except this time, it would grab hold of the suspects of this case as well. Accompanying the group was the principal, Sigma Klim, as well as Meira and Honey Lemon, who had both ignored the fire alarm. There was also Bullet, who had been trying to sneak into her friend's dorm at the time of the fire alarm, Tommy, who had mysteriously gone off on his own moments before the fire alarm began, and Cole Phelps, the guest detective of the day.

When the group arrived at the pool, the windows had been covered in a red tarp, casting a dull red glow across the pool. Under this red hue, Monomi gathered her strength, wiping away her tears and defiantly marching up to Monokuma. "You stop this right now you bad bear, or I'll--"

29eVrLp.gif

Unsurprisingly, Monomi got another hit from Monokuma for her defiance.

"Stop what, Little Sis'? Stop justice? An innocent young girl was murdered, and for once it may not be our group of bloodthirsty ingrates! Why shouldn't we do this right here, right now?! Upupu... Upuhehehe...!"

The ground began to rumble as the pool drained of water. The floor of the pool began to rise up in its place, evening out so that the pool area was a flat, smooth surface. The familiar ring of podiums rose from ground, fitting inside the pool area, just enough for everyone present. Behind the ring rose a large ladder and diving board, where Monokuma decided to perch so that he was staring down at the ring below.

EbCBGBc.png

"Yo, and here I thought today would be boring," Meira said, taking a spot at one of the podiums. "Whoever stands next to me, I do warn you, I have very restless hands and feet."

"I, uh... huh..."

5bdIVVF.gif

Bullet stared inexplicably at the ring of podiums, unsure what to make of all this. The murder, the bear, the pool transforming before her eyes-- This all seemed like something out of a strange dream. "The fuck is all this? Seriously."

"Ah... this is certainly an odd way of going about things, sheriff..." The principal took a place at the ring, nervously touching at the cuffs of his shirt. "Though, I suppose you're an odd one yourself."

37CcXac.png

"For today's guests, let me fill you in! You're on trial, where you'll have to fight for your life and convince my forensics team that you're not a killer! You see, whoever the killer is... it's you versus everyone. If the killer is caught... he or she will be punished. That's how it works! Simple, eh? Now make sure you scream, shout, and get your claws out!"

"Okay, wait, so..." Jude looked around the ring determining who the new faces were. "So the suspects... are people who were in the dorms during the fire alarm? Well, the principal was there at the time, right? And we found out the girl there was trying to get into her friend's room..."

Meira then gasped, pointing to Bullet. "It's the lesbian!"

"For fuck's sake-- Look, just call me Bullet. Christ."

"Oh... so you shoot it out fast and hard, right?"

wJHeUhN.png

"Can... uh, can you tell us where you were during the fire alarm?"

Meira scoffed, crossing her arms. Oh, boys, so naive. "Like I said earlier, me and Bean Pole here were studying. She's too boring and flat for anything more exciting than that."

zAxA16p.png

"And I saw him," Victoria said, looking at Tommy across the ring from her. Her hands gripped the podium like a vice, her face red and blotchy from crying earlier. "He was acting totally sketchy. He also said earlier that he knew Max."

Monokuma waved his hands in the air. "Now, now! Let's not get all bent out of shape so quickly!"

"You're one to talk!" Diana screamed. "The last place I want to be is standing in this fucking ring again!"

roLnfd6.png

Monokuma could only shake his head at the girl, giggling. "Oh... no need for such hysterics! I would have skinned the cat even if they had voted you!" An uproar started at this declaration, mostly from the new faces who seemed alarmed by the word kill, but Monokuma took out his claws and called for silence. "Don't worry about what happens after, start presenting your evidence! It's time to start the trial!"

Case #1: Maxine Caulfield
During the trial for Byakuya Togami's murder, Diana attempted to get the group to vote her as she felt guilty for the crime. Diana had believed Byakuya to be a boy she knew named Brennan from her past and had gone around the camp telling the others this. When she witnessed Neon place the body, Diana blamed herself for telling Neon he was dangerous. However, Monokuma revealed that Byakuya was not Brennan at all, but an imposter. It later came to light that Monokuma had convinced Neon Katt to kill Byakuya by saying he had held her team hostage, rather than Neon killing Byakuya after hearing Diana's warnings.

The group had managed to see through Diana and ended up voting for Neon, who was executed for her crime. After the trial, a masked man came out of the woods to attack the group. His origins and motivations were left a mystery as he vanished after injuring a few members of the group.

The next morning, Blubs and Durland arrived and attempted to arrest the group for the murder of Mark Jefferson, a famous public figure in town. Using the two police officer's lack of wits, Monokuma managed to talk himself into becoming the new town sheriff and reasoned with Blubs and Durland that the group to investigate his murder. If they were not successful in finding the murderer, they would be locked up instead. The group then headed to Blackwell Academy to investigate Jefferson's place of work.

Victoria Chase recognized the school from her home and she tried to see if her dorm room was still there. Diana, Stiles, and Jack Frost accompanied her inside, where she found that a crude girl named Meira was living in her room. Victoria grew annoyed with the girl's antics and ended up running into Tommy, who spoke to Victoria as if hew knew her. When asked, Tommy said that he was friends with a girl named Maxine Caulfield and that she told him about Victoria. Victoria reasoned that this meant she had a dorm room somewhere and went off in search of it. Meira ended up annoying Tommy and a few others, and they attempted to join him as he left, but Tommy started acting odd. He spoke of the masked man, revealing that he had been stalked by the killer in the past. Talking about this upset Tommy, who decided to run off on his own.

Rant and Yurick spoke to the principal of the school, Sigma Klim, who assured the pair they had his full cooperation. He spoke of Jefferson in high regard, saying that the teacher was loved by everyone. He said he had no idea why anyone would have wanted to kill Mark, and admitted that they were friends. The conversation was cut short when Klim's security called him, telling him they had a situation on their hands, which prompted Klim to politely ask Rant and Yurick to leave.

Corrin, Tomoko, Darv, and Sledge ran into a girl named Bullet who was hanging up missing person posters. She boldly stated that the police should instead be focusing on finding her friend, Rachel Amber, and a number of other girls who recently went missing in Bright Falls, instead of investigating Mark Jefferson's murder. Bullet alleged that Jefferson and Rachel had some kind of relationship and that the man was some kind of creep. Corrin and the others said they would help and asked for something about Rachel they could use to look for her, which gave Bullet the idea of sneaking into Rachel's old dorm room and grabbing something from there. She told the group to meet her at the dorms in thirty minutes before she left.

Another group ran into Maxine Caulfield, who was hanging out by herself in an empty classroom. The girl seemed distant and depressed, which the group reasoned to be grief. They asked Max for information about Jefferson, but Max asked them if they could help her have some fun before she talked about it. The group sneaked into the pool and had some fun swimming, which satisfied Max enough for her to be willing to talk about Jefferson. She asked the group to meet her on roof of the dorms in fifteen minutes, but as it would turn out,t he group would never see her alive again.

When it was about time for the group to meet with Max, someone set off the fire alarm in the dormitories, forcing the majority of the students to evacuate. During this time, Max fell from the dorm roof, her neck snapping on a rope tied around her neck. The group rushed to the roof to pull her up, where Monokuma declared that another investigation was to go underway. It was determined that the suspects were those who were inside the dormitories during the fire alarm, though unfortunately the group had little luck in fidning clues in Max's room.

All that was found was a suicide note...

***

Maxine was found hanging from the dormitory roof, killed via her neck snapping from the fall she took. The murder happened during a fire alarm, so most of the students were not int he building at the time. There were no signs of a struggle on the body, though Max had a small hole on her neck that could be a birth mark.

A suicide note was found in Max's room, written in cursive. Her journal, camera, and laptop were missing, though the journal was found burned in a trash can in the parking lot behind the dorms. All items from Max's bag aside from school supplies were missing as well.

A panel in Mark Jefferson's office that was closed before the murder was opened, with a few empty syringes inside.

Hooking her arm around Kyoko's neck to keep her nice and close, Tharja didn't even turn around to speak with Genji as he started to act like a tin-can of a prude.

Phelps's reaction to the turn of events was... overwhelmed. So overwhelmed that on the outside, he looked underwhelmed.

"Well, isn't this just a... spiffy turn of events?"

He really was at something at a loss of words, though he figured he may as well present what was given to him. Clearing his throat, the detective would begin to speak. "So ah... Let's go over the evidence. From what I'm seeing from the list compiled, aside from the burned up journal that was handed to me, there was also--"

"Eat my ass."

Poison meanwhile was standing arms folded as she tapped her foot to the ground. "Another one these? So does anyone have anything to say about all this? Other than eating ass?"

"Oh well I guess I can start." Honey Lemon replied really wanting to get all of this back on track. "I heard the alarm and was ready to leave, because you know, it's an alarm! Meira on the other hand, well...you know how she is. And I just couldn't leave her alone inside so I stayed behind with her. Then she had to hurry to the bathroom leaving me alone in the dorm. I...I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary."

@Everyone

@DBZ7 @Atomyk @BarrenThin @Jeremi

TthvuPw.jpg

Lesbian here probably was up to some shady shit, though."

cd6tqEv.jpg

"This is not Morikubo's lucky day... or lucky week for that matter..."

A mysterious, raspy voice emerged from a supposedly-unoccupied podium. This voice was directed at Victoria.

"Please... write your name on a piece of paper and hand it over here, Ms Victoria... Shimada-san... can you help pass it?"

@BarrenThin @Atomyk @Verite @Kaykay @Yun Lee @Yang Lee @CrunchyCHEEZIT @etcetcetc

@Crow @DBZ7 @Verite @Jeremi @The Tactician @ClassTrial

@Crow @DBZ7 @Verite @Jeremi @The Tactician @ClassTrial

Honda listened to the conversations going on during the trial, not sure when to speak up. Until, however, he heard something Bullet said.

Just another girl screwed over by this town...

"Say, so there have been a string of missing girls, right? Did any of these girls have a connection? Y'know, like something in common?"

"I... suppose that is fair, although, what I meant to say is that just about any of the suspects here could have known about the panel, realistically speaking."

Bullet rolled her eyes, but didn't comment on that.

ry9Tmsi.jpg

@Crow @DBZ7 @Verite @Jeremi @The Tactician @ClassTrial
Without a moment's hesitation, the sound of a fist slamming against the hard wood of the trial stands echoed through the room. The samurai known as Jack openly glared in disgust at the principal, finding the sight of the man who seemed willing to betray his students with slander reprehensible.

"Allow me to make this clear once again, Klim. The law is not subjective, it is only objective. While it does not care for random tidbits of one's life being thrown as slander about, it will not shy away from the truth of the matter if there is just cause for it to be considered relevant, no matter how depraved or vile. If you seek to slander a student of yours out of some perceived to protect a man who may very well have been, as Miss Bullet politely explained, in sexual accordance with her underage friend, then I will ensure that it is done outside of this courtroom where you are not allowed to interrupt the proceedings of the trial in progress!"

"Do I make myself clear, Mister Klim? Your personal beliefs on Miss Bullet's future endeavors are to be left out of this trial, as it appears that though them, only you seek to disrupt!" Jack spit out like the venom of a viper, clearly tired of Klim's garbage attempts to color Bullet's character putrid. Giving himself a moment to calm, the samurai then regarded Miss Bullet with a shake of his head, "I apologize, Miss Bullet, but I do not partake of the habit. In any case, when Miss Max was murdered, she was planning to inform my group of an important piece of information regarding Jefferson..."

"Do you perhaps believe that someone wished to silence her because of that?"

@Crow @DBZ7 @Verite @Jeremi @The Tactician @ClassTrial

"Can... uh, can you tell us where you were during the fire alarm?"

SSNbGBU.jpg

"I lead the group to the boy's dorm then I went back to what I was originally doing. I came out to get some air.." Tommy muttered, his first words since the trial began. "Once the fire alarm went off, I went and got my medicine for my PTSD." Figured it wouldn't help him any if he hid things from these people, specially if he might have been accused of Max's murder of all things. "They help calm down some of the symptoms. Though some things still trigger them.." Jason of course being the prime one. Tommy could have swallowed all the pills but any mention of a killer would instantly bring to mind one person in Tommy's thoughts.

"I...I knew the killer you guys ran into. The one with the hockey mask. I fought him when I was just a kid. He butchered my family and I killed him. Been from psychiatric ward to ward after that. But I got clearance to finally come back to school and Max helped me out a lot. Trying to get me adjusted with other students..Can't say it worked out too well." How nervous and shy he got around people other than Max was a clear indicator of that. "But she helped me get through days when even my medicine couldn't. I never would have hurt her."

For his part, Catbug's wings fluttered happily at Tommy's admission. He had to admit that he tried his hardest to block out the mental image of a Kid!Tommy hacking Jason to bits but he did feel sympathy for what he went through and how Max tried to help him! From what little interaction he had with her, she seemed like a girl who enjoyed life when people were happy! So he could conceivably see her trying to help someone as broken as Tommy appeared to be.

Still laying atop Chikage's head, Catbug nodded his head up and down.

82dKgF0.jpg

"It's okay, Tommy! Max helped us too! Or...well she wanted to but first we went swimming! Which I didn't really like at all. But Max was happy! But we didn't really learn anything..." Realizing how his comment had trailed off, Catbug nuzzled his head into Chikage's hair as he groaned. "I don't think you killed her, Tommy!"

Tommy smiled awkwardly at the talking...cat...ladybug...thing clearing him of it's suspicion for playing a role in Max's death. But Mike wasn't so willing to let Tommy off the hook just yet. Although he certainly felt sympathetic for Tommy's past, as he didn't even want to THINK of somebody like Jason hacking up his family as dysfunctional as it may have been, that didn't give Tommy a free pass out of this. Walking towards Tommy, Mike glanced up at him with a curious look on his face.

hpkjPPT.jpg

"You ever play D&D, Tommy?"

"...No?"

"I see, I see. It's just that there's a class in there called the rogue. They're usually not very nice people and they're kind of shady. Have bad pasts, probably filled with lots of thievery, murder, that kinda thing. Now, pay close attention to that second one. Because what I'm getting at is here you kind of remind me of the rogue, Tommy. You've got a bad past filled with death and you haven't had the best time. But what if..." Mike paused as Tommy frowned at what exactly Mike was trying to grasp at here. He didn't exactly appreciate his life being compared to some game that Mike played.

"What if you ended up picking something up from Jason? What was his past like?"

"..I don't see how Jason has anything to do with this-"

"We fought him and you killed him! I think he's pretty important!"

"...He drowned at summer camp back in the fifites, his mom killed people out of revenge until she got killed, and then Jason went on a killing spree of his own. Until..." Tommy paused as he clutched at his hair and began to sweat again. "Until I stopped him.."

"But he's back, Tommy. Unless it's an imposter behind the mask and that's what I'm getting at! What if the 'Jason' we fought wasn't really Jason at all but somebody pretending to be him? With tragic backstory and all.." Mike lingered on the mention of tragic backstory as the implication finally came home to Tommy.

rsatWV3.jpg

"You think I impersonated Jason? No, the one you fought was the real deal. I know...I brought him back to life." Mike's eyes widened at that exclamation and Catbug nearly fell off Chikage's head. Trying to gather himself, Mike held a hand close to his ear. "...Brought him back to life?" Tommy slowly nodded his head. "I wanted to make sure he was dead so I dug up his body..and..and..I tried to burn it but I fucked up!"

"..And that brought him back to life?"

"...No, a lightning bolt did that."

"Frankenstein."

"What?"

"Nothing. But alright, even if that was the real Jason we fought. Where does that leave you, Tommy? What if you're the rogue of this story? You have the bad past and if we add in murder-" Mike realized how cold he may have been sounding but he was sick of all the death! If Tommy was behind it then he wanted to do all that he could to stop him!

"I said I didn't kill her! I'd never become like Jason!"

Tommy admitted as he tried to calm himself after lashing out at Mike. He had actually fought and killed a Jason Imposter not a few years after Jason's death. But he'd never put on the hockey mask and grab the machete himself.

"Max meant a lot to me. I didn't impersonate Jason and I didn't kill her. This kind of death wouldn't have been Jason's style anyway..."

"So you know his style?"

"HE KILLED MY FAMILY!"

Mike shirked back as Tommy took a step towards him and shouted. Holding up his hands to try and pacify Tommy, Mike nodded. "I understand. I just want to figure this out, Tommy. Sorry.."

"I do not believe you are the killer of Maxine nor are you the one you call... Jason."

The way Jack spoke the name did nothing to disguise his absolute loathing for the creature. After seeing it almost crush the life of the most precious person currently in his life and kill an innocent man by punching his head off, the samurai had no intention of showing the mask-wearing undead any sort of mercy in the near future.

He stepped closer to Mike and Tommy, seeking to act as mediator between them, "I too know of the sort of vagabonds and rogues that Mike speaks of... And you do not strike me as one of the ninja, Tommy. You also lack a motive to strike out at Maxine... In fact, you seem the most likely to shield her from harm."

"As for the accusation of being Jason... You are not him. You are not as he is, rotting, ready to fall apart yet able to easily mend your broken bones," For a moment, Jack paused and smiled at the young man, hoping to keep him calm as he asked next, "Though... Would you be able to present your medicine for the members of this trial to see? It would serve a great deal to wiping away any hint of guilt towards you."

"Truth? I'm afraid you won't be getting any from young Bullet here, but I'll not speak up any longer about what I think of her statements if that is what you wish."

Bullet was loving this.

"All the missing girls went to Blackwell or often frequented Blackwell," Bullet quickly said in response to Honda. "The girls, their names were, uh..." The girl stuck her tongue out, as if she was trying to recall the names.

"Laura Palmer," said the principal, his voice having taken on a grim tone. "She was the first and most publicized. Most figured she skipped town, for the alternative..."

"Hey... a girl in my class went missing too! What was her name... Bitch Tits? Tits McGee? Ah... right, Rose or whatever."

"Rosie Larsen," Bullet said, having seemed to get her memory back. "Bradley Martin. Uh, that's a girl, by the way. And Anna Graham. That's five girls in total, including Rachel. As for Max, I, well..." Bullet seemed unsure what to say, and she looked around for some kind of guidance. "... I mean, just as a guess I'm throwing out there, yeah, I guess someone would maybe want to silence her. Maybe someone who knows of a connection between Jefferson and the girls. Maybe someone who knows where the missing girls are."

Klim looked like he wanted to argue, but he kept silent as requested.

"Uh, hold on?" Victoria had a finger in the air, zeroing in on Jack like she was ready to knock him down a peg. "Most likely to shield her from harm? The kid's right-- This guy is total sketch.

Jack Frost frowned, it seemed that he was still bothered by a particular detail he had found, following the few clues that he had found during his investigations.

"Were there... Any markings on Max's body?" He asked.

It was apparant that he was asking this to doublecheck if those syringes he had found had anything to do with this particular murder... With the added factor of other girls having gone missing, along with Mark Jefferson himself apparantly dead, it was very possible those syringes had been used in other situations too.

I'd never become like Jason!"

gwM3U9S.jpg

"I...I didn't know that. About Jefferson I mean.."

"Huh...and were these girls in any way connected to Jefferson? I mean, Rachel we know did have a connection, but what about the others?"

Hearing Victoria, Honda frowned. "Hey! This boy lost a good friend, and seems to be taking things rather well! Doesn't seem like he lost it to me! Plus, why would he possibly drug his friend, put a rope around her neck, and push her off a building?! It's ridiculous!"

"Just from the rope. No struggle whatsoever. The most unusual thing was a tiny dot on the back of her neck... Say! Can't we see if the syringes in the panel make a hole like that dot?!"

"I... suppose that is fair, although, what I meant to say is that just about any of the suspects here could have known about the panel, realistically speaking."

While the conversation had gone on Shuten-Douji was stuck on one thing in particular. "Hehehe...a spotless room is no longer spotless with even a drop of mud inside of it." The oni girl always looked like she was inebriated in some form or another but the words that came out from her were clear as day.

"Perhaps your house of cards were falling apart." Suddenly Shuten seemed to be holding a pen and a piece of paper in her hand. "Humor us with a look at your penmanship will you?" She smiled coyly towards Klim as she pushed the pen and paper on the man.

"That is a good question... And it's a simple one to answer, if I recall the syndrome you speak of correctly."

Jack was no psychologist by any means, nor was such a field in existence during his time. Most chalked up mental instability to the presence of demonic onis roaming the land and possessing individuals during his time. However, as he had traveled, he had met a few mercenaries who had not been hired to kill him and spoken with them. They spoke of the battle fatigue their past comrades had felt and of the pain that the disease of a violent past brought.

"While the presence of his medicine would be a good signal that he was not set off, there is a simpler explanation. Post-traumatic stress, when triggered, involves a shutting down of the more rational mental routines we place ourselves in such as the taking of medicine and keeping to schedules in favor of a more instinct-based 'fight or flight' mentality. If Tommy had experienced a relapse, he almost certainly wouldn't have been thinking in a logical manner."

"Yet what was his first thought when the fire alarm was set off? To retrieve his medicine, a perfectly rational thing to do when one is aware of their condition. Even if he was experiencing the traumatic events of his past, it would make no sense for him to drug and hang Miss Maxine," Jack seemed certain of his words, a slight smirk pulling at his lips as he continued on, "The murder was too calculated, too well-executed and timed from the evidence we have gathered. If Tommy killed Maxine in a fit of stress, the death would have been messier, the tools less subtle than the syringes hidden behind a panel."

"Finally... The simple fact that the alarm is almost certainly not tied to the memories of Tommy's tormentor. Jason was silent, focused upon stalking his prey and isolating them. An alarm such as the one we heard would not set off a victim of Jason's rampage."

"And that is my piece in Tommy's defense; Your rebuttal, Miss Victoria?"

Jack Frost nodded, rubbing his chin... So it must have been one of the syringes that had done the work; if there was no struggle, this would obviously indicate that Max had been drugged before she was hung from that rope, but... By who? And not just that... But the note he had found that lead him to those syringes had been written at least a few days ago... Hmm... Was it possible that someone had taken one of those syringes? Yes, but, he had a feeling that it would be difficult to tell if that particular syringe had been returned or not. He sighed... There seemed to be alot more to the picture than just the death of Max Caulfield, but for the time being, he would have to focus on this specific case.

"The note I found in the Chemistry Lab that lead me to that panel was written a few days ago." He said.

Hmm... But how would they ever narrow down the list of suspects?

"Whoever that did this... Probably disposed of the evidence, or... Like the last time, they had an accomplice to help them." He added.

Well, now came the difficult part; narrowind down who the real suspect was, and who was just merely an accomplice... If the killer had one.

Concerning the syringes, Jude said, "just with a glance, I can tell that the syringes could have made the mark on Max's neck."

Unfortunately, Bullet could only give a shrug concerning the possible connections the girls had to Jefferson. "I wasn't friends with any of them, so I couldn't tell you. But, like our dear principal has said, Jefferson was the big man on campus, so few people here didn't have some kind of connection to him. Pretty much every guy worships him for being, like, a fuckin' cool hip dude or something. Girls too, except they wanted to have sex with him too. Hey, you know what? Probably a bunch of the dudes too."

"It's always the bearded whitebread ones."

"It was just who he was. Just how it was."

Meanwhile, Victoria was not having any of this. Just about every conversation going on was bugging her. "Okay, first of all, so what if some girls liked Mark? People have crushes all the time. There's no one in here who didn't have a crush on an authority figure at some point in their life, and if not, they're lying."

"Miss Lewis does have a great ass. Nice tits too."

"Uh, sure. Anyway, just because people liked Mark Jefferson, doesn't mean he ever reciprocated them, all right?"

xcUq0QB.png

"Second... is it really ridiculous for Tommy to have done any of that? Is it less ridiculous if someone else did that? Seems just as ridiculous to me! What if Max knew something about his past? What if it he just had a freak-out moment? You don't know." She paused for Jack then, seeming more agitated as he went on. She was honestly surprised to hear all this from someone she had perceived to have walked out of a more primitive century. "Okay... fair... I guess. I'm not sure you or I could sit here and say exactly what could or could not set him off, but I still..." The girl sighed. "I'm just not convinced. Maybe it's because I'm not an expert on the subject, sorry. An accomplice, maybe? I'm just trying to help out Max here."

"Yeah, that was kind of a shit rebuttal. But hey, I'm not sure I understood what this guy was talking about myself."

Victoria wasn't sure how to respond to that, so she just silently rolled her eyes.

While this was going on, Klim silently agreed to offer a sample of his handwriting. He wrote his name under Victoria's. It would be closer to a match than Victoria's, but still a bit off.
