In the kingdom of Lakhmotr there was town of Morganar, a small village by outskirts of Draken Forest. The people are simple folk here they make there coin from gathering wood and farming. Inside the forest lived what most humans would consider monsters. Monsters of all shapes and sizes that lived in the vast forest. For many years humans and monsters lived fairly. Humans only taking what they need. And monsters trading with them with it came expansion of humans learning magic from them. Everything was peaceful and each beings respected each other.
However humans soon realized the wood from the Draken forest was something unheard of qualities it was the most sturdy, resisted to bugs, and could be infused with magical properties. The town of Morganar started grow being so close to the Draken Forest. The towns people began to cut more trees and travel deeper into forest to collect the lumber that was causing the town to grow. Soon the once peaceful monsters that lived in forest rebelled. As the humans were not only harming there kingdom, but also killing monster who made there homes in some of the trees. A small war began, humans and monster attacked each other with swords, guns, and magic. And Forest became darker as war raged on. Many were killed and forest seem to tremble with the bloodshed.
But just as fast as war came it ended into a shaky truce was settled upon the land. After the human king saw the monsters weren't going to give up. And were actually starting to crush them. Monsters decided to allow the humans could only cut trees on the edge of the monsters forest. In order to keep the town running for extra things they may need. This truce would suppose to last for a hundred years. However after about 20 years weird things started to happening a fog began to emit and surround the town and forest. It rolled in like the waves of the sea at random times. And people and monsters alike have gone missing or found dead. Screams and roars heard when fog came in. Many think it's a curse that each opposing side had created. But both uncertain to blame on the other. In fear of retaliation. So an investigation began for human kingdom, sending some of there royal police from Lakhmotr capital to see where this fog came from and what is cause of the people in Morganar to disappear or die.
Town was still in somewhat disrepair and the population was down by half and still recovering. Many of the building were burned or empty. It was obvious the war had still scarred this lumber based town. Sound of the horse drawn coaches came into the mostly quiet town as the Royal Police came into Morganar. Setting them up in the town's inn which was least effected by the war. Many of the Royal Police had heard of the monster in the forest of Draken. But many have not seen them since monsters rarely travel out of the large forest.
One of the royal police was James Sanchez. He barely made his eighth year with the Royal Police this year alone. And he had heard the supposed legends of Draken Forest. But surely they were only just legends. As he helped the men move in equipment and supplies into the Inn. He couldn't help but be fascinated by the ever expanding forest. As he'd only heard of such places in books and seen them in paintings. The air was cleaner than that in the capital which was smoggy sometimes. And it smelled woodsy too and sounds of the forest was just alive as the capital. If not a bit creepy cause it felt like someone or something was watching them. Many of the other officers were watching the woods as well. Uncertain and maybe a bit curious what is in there. "Haunting isn't it?" The Inn keeper says to the men who paused to looked at the Draken Forest. "They're in there. And they're watching you may not see them. But they're there…. If you're going to investigate the area I suggest keeping to the edge. The monsters aren't to kind of letting humans in." Older man says. "And if you see the fog run the opposite way." James wasn't sure if what the man said was out of fear or just precaution but he heed it either way. As he continued to work on bringing in supplies. Many of the Royal police wore dark blue button up uniform with white shirt and dark blue pants with black shoes. Usually having golden, silver, or bronze badge. Each indicating there rank. For James he had bronze badge so he was lower rank. Perhaps after serving in this investigation he would get his silver badge at least in his theory.
From the thick branches of the Draken Forest. Camouflaging in with the foliage was a Mothman. He blended seamlessly into it just watching the new humans who came into the town of Morganar. His antenna twitching upwards smelling smoggy smell of the new humans who entered. His wings draped over the branch as one set of arms held onto branch while others shielded his eyes from sun. These humans didn't smell like the ones here they honestly stunk worse. Maybe they had new shiny and glowing things with them. Or at least he hoped they did. He loved things that glowed or was shiny as he had small horde of it in his little burrow. Smoothing the fluffy collar of moth fuzz around his collarbone as he peered down to Earth. Antenna moving around as he used four arms to climb down the tree. Flying would be easier but he didn't want to be seen as he made his way to the ground he wanted a closer look maybe he could sneak in empty parts of Morganar to see what strange humans had. To add to his collection, his body was tan throughout with huge moth wings typical of a mothman or mothkin. His wings were earthy orange with stripe of white and pink with yellow tips. The lower wing was brown and yellow ring had second ring of oyster grey-blue which was top part of the wing. While the under wing which brown and black which helped him blend into wood of the tree. And he had two sets of arms each hand covered with bandages not cause of injury but cause it made it easier to climb stuff. Plus his elbows had fluff on him. Needles to say he was fluffy if one got close enough to look at him. Though he wore very little clothing more like loin cloth wrapped around him in earth tone color to keep himself unseen in trees.
