In the kingdom of Lakhmotr there was town of Morganar, a small village by outskirts of Draken Forest. The people are simple folk here they make there coin from gathering wood and farming. Inside the forest lived what most humans would consider monsters. Monsters of all shapes and sizes that lived in the vast forest. For many years humans and monsters lived fairly. Humans only taking what they need. And monsters trading with them with it came expansion of humans learning magic from them. Everything was peaceful and each beings respected each other.

However humans soon realized the wood from the Draken forest was something unheard of qualities it was the most sturdy, resisted to bugs, and could be infused with magical properties. The town of Morganar started grow being so close to the Draken Forest. The towns people began to cut more trees and travel deeper into forest to collect the lumber that was causing the town to grow. Soon the once peaceful monsters that lived in forest rebelled. As the humans were not only harming there kingdom, but also killing monster who made there homes in some of the trees. A small war began, humans and monster attacked each other with swords, guns, and magic. And Forest became darker as war raged on. Many were killed and forest seem to tremble with the bloodshed.

But just as fast as war came it ended into a shaky truce was settled upon the land. After the human king saw the monsters weren't going to give up. And were actually starting to crush them. Monsters decided to allow the humans could only cut trees on the edge of the monsters forest. In order to keep the town running for extra things they may need. This truce would suppose to last for a hundred years. However after about 20 years weird things started to happening a fog began to emit and surround the town and forest. It rolled in like the waves of the sea at random times. And people and monsters alike have gone missing or found dead. Screams and roars heard when fog came in. Many think it's a curse that each opposing side had created. But both uncertain to blame on the other. In fear of retaliation. So an investigation began for human kingdom, sending some of there royal police from Lakhmotr capital to see where this fog came from and what is cause of the people in Morganar to disappear or die.

Town was still in somewhat disrepair and the population was down by half and still recovering. Many of the building were burned or empty. It was obvious the war had still scarred this lumber based town. Sound of the horse drawn coaches came into the mostly quiet town as the Royal Police came into Morganar. Setting them up in the town's inn which was least effected by the war. Many of the Royal Police had heard of the monster in the forest of Draken. But many have not seen them since monsters rarely travel out of the large forest.

One of the royal police was James Sanchez. He barely made his eighth year with the Royal Police this year alone. And he had heard the supposed legends of Draken Forest. But surely they were only just legends. As he helped the men move in equipment and supplies into the Inn. He couldn't help but be fascinated by the ever expanding forest. As he'd only heard of such places in books and seen them in paintings. The air was cleaner than that in the capital which was smoggy sometimes. And it smelled woodsy too and sounds of the forest was just alive as the capital. If not a bit creepy cause it felt like someone or something was watching them. Many of the other officers were watching the woods as well. Uncertain and maybe a bit curious what is in there. "Haunting isn't it?" The Inn keeper says to the men who paused to looked at the Draken Forest. "They're in there. And they're watching you may not see them. But they're there…. If you're going to investigate the area I suggest keeping to the edge. The monsters aren't to kind of letting humans in." Older man says. "And if you see the fog run the opposite way." James wasn't sure if what the man said was out of fear or just precaution but he heed it either way. As he continued to work on bringing in supplies. Many of the Royal police wore dark blue button up uniform with white shirt and dark blue pants with black shoes. Usually having golden, silver, or bronze badge. Each indicating there rank. For James he had bronze badge so he was lower rank. Perhaps after serving in this investigation he would get his silver badge at least in his theory.

From the thick branches of the Draken Forest. Camouflaging in with the foliage was a Mothman. He blended seamlessly into it just watching the new humans who came into the town of Morganar. His antenna twitching upwards smelling smoggy smell of the new humans who entered. His wings draped over the branch as one set of arms held onto branch while others shielded his eyes from sun. These humans didn't smell like the ones here they honestly stunk worse. Maybe they had new shiny and glowing things with them. Or at least he hoped they did. He loved things that glowed or was shiny as he had small horde of it in his little burrow. Smoothing the fluffy collar of moth fuzz around his collarbone as he peered down to Earth. Antenna moving around as he used four arms to climb down the tree. Flying would be easier but he didn't want to be seen as he made his way to the ground he wanted a closer look maybe he could sneak in empty parts of Morganar to see what strange humans had. To add to his collection, his body was tan throughout with huge moth wings typical of a mothman or mothkin. His wings were earthy orange with stripe of white and pink with yellow tips. The lower wing was brown and yellow ring had second ring of oyster grey-blue which was top part of the wing. While the under wing which brown and black which helped him blend into wood of the tree. And he had two sets of arms each hand covered with bandages not cause of injury but cause it made it easier to climb stuff. Plus his elbows had fluff on him. Needles to say he was fluffy if one got close enough to look at him. Though he wore very little clothing more like loin cloth wrapped around him in earth tone color to keep himself unseen in trees.

Morganar was a place of mystery; with the rolling fog that seemed to layer itself so comfortably across the never ending dark woods. Now they were there for an investigation on the blaneting white mist, but one particular Royal Police found the forest to be more interesting than haunting. While the rest of the squad had been moving stuff into the Inn, having arrived just a short few minutes ago, one of them had stood back to watch the forest near the carriage. Breathing in the cool forest scent and wondering if what was said by the Inn keeper was true. Where there monsters out there? Or was this just some wives tale to keep them from venturing to far into the unknown? There was a hard time believing that anything bad was near in these woods, and the intent to figure out exactly what was what in the world was in there. Had to be more than just simple monsters.

The Royal Police had stopped beside another, believed his name was James a lower ranked rookie, and barely heard the interaction between him and the in keeper. Going back to their previous thoughts of this couldn't be true. That they were not monsters but instead something just misunderstood. He fully understood what it meant to be misunderstood, having been underestimated his whole life, and wanted to extend the same courtesy to that of these 'monsters'. The red-head adjusted his regalia, a shiny silver badge gleaming in the dull light of the sun and he put his hands to his hips. Giving this lopsided smile to James as they finished moving everything in and the Inn keeper had walked away from them.

"So, Sanchez, you ready to start this investigation or what?" The man put a hand on the others' shoulder with a firm grasp and then glanced back before leaning in to speak more quietly, "I wouldn't let what they say scare you; I think they just fear what they don't know more than anything else," With that, Jaylin Kirkland turned to head inside to give the details of what to do next but he fuly intended to bring in Sanchez along with him for their first round. What better way to start off the lower ranked than with some good ol' danger? Well suppose not danger, but that would certainly add to the fun of being in Morganar. Danger, mystery and so called monsters. What a place to live and what a war would've been fought here.

Not too far from the Mothman, a small creature bustled about. Curiousity having been peaked at the unfamiliar sounds of horses hooves on stone pathways and new smells on the horizon. The city of humans had always been an interesting place for many creatures. What lived there? What did humans do on a daily basis? How come they went to war? There was many unanswered questions for many creatures, but one seemed to be a little too curious about human beings. Maybe even dangerously curious about that of the human world. Humans came into the forest every now and then, but it was usually to harvest the trees on the edge of the woods or seeming to want to see what lurked beyond the tree line. The amount of humans that had been scared away couldn't be counted on one had that was for sure.

The small creature moved through the forest with grace and agility; small hooves trailing along soft, dark green grass. Big, curious eyes glowed in the slight light that filtered through the tree tops and arms where kept to a smooth chest as peering through the foliage. Trying to catch any sort of glimpse of the humans and their strange ways of things to do. Though nothing could be really seen from where he stood, and the young deer-like creatures' tail twitched in annoyance. Wanting to see what the world could offer in terms of the humans. What could he see though from inside the forest? It was like the fog and dark woods kept a thick wall between them and the humans; neither wanting to learn about the other since the war. Fearing what they didn't know or couldn't understand.

He nervously smoothed down the fur on his belly and thights, deer-like legs moving slightly as he always kept in movement when out of his home. Never knew when one would have to run for it. Though upon hearing the rustling from the Mothman climbing down the tree, Marc ducked behind a tree and peered out sheepishly. Not wanting to anger another creature nor insitgate a fight. That was the last thing he had wanted to do and who knows if a mothman would be aggressive or not. Marc wore no clothes, his body covered by soft, faun fur but he did carry with him bags. Made of fabric and leaves to keep food on him or to collect objects from the ground. One being something shiny that glimmered when Marc moved behind the tree; it was a gemstone he had found earlier in the day.

Angelos kept low to the ground as he left the safety of the forest. Even though this wasn't his first time leaving it as he would leave sometimes to see what shiny things he could collect. He moved to first abandoned building and went to move to next. Light amount of magic under his heels to make it easier to to sneak.

Next building he went to was empty of course, but also close to the Inn. He went to use his four hands to climb up the building and went to the roof. There he pressed himself flat on the ceiling. Only his head and antenna peered over the building. Watching them when something caught his eyes. It was shiny and silvery upon one of the men's chest. Honestly it looked similar to a star the way it shined. Those amber eyes seem to glow in dim light he wanted the item. As two of his hands rub together eagerly while others kept him on the roof steady. He just have to get it, but how was the question.

James looked at the higher officer who was speaking to him. "I'm not afraid." He says simply. "The monster stories are nothing more than when your mom and dad tells you horror stories to get you to behave." Musing at him and went to chuckle a bit amused. "But if there are monsters in there I want to see them. I heard some even look human almost." Telling him.

Lifting his uniform cap to smooth back a few stray dark brown strands of hair that had misplaced during moving stuff into the inn. "It's so quiet here, nothing like the city. If it wasn't for the things happening I say this little town would be someplace wonderful to retire at someday." There was a hint of smile crossing his somewhat stern feature. "How many investigation have you done, sir?"

The little deer creature watched the Mothman leave the forests' safe boundaries and his ears went back across his head. That seemed like a dangerous idea to do but yet some what admirable to say the least. Humans from afar was interesting, but he couldn't even begin to imagine being so bold as to approach an empty building then the building those professionally clade humans where at! Just the thought made anxiety spike up in his chest and he ducked further behind the tree, but eventually the draw of curiousity drew him further from the tree and towards the line between empty grass and his dark wood home.

Ears still laying flat on his head, Marc watched the Mothman climb the side of the building. Those moth people sure were brave and seemed to have no remorse in approaching people. He, however, stuck to the tree line and simply watched from where he stood. His blue gaze reflecting the light of towns' lamp posts like that of a cows' in headlights. Watching one of the humans reach to his head, taking off the little hat he wore, and smoothing out his hair. Marc found himself mimicking the movement with a small chuckle to himself, poofing out his own curls from the gesture. Then continued watching them, picking his way across the line till he was just mere feet from the humans. Wondering what they would do next? Or if the Mothman would eat them?

Seemed like himself and Sanchez were on the same page in terms of these monsters. Simply stories told to scared children would be correct and he couldn't help but agree with wanting to see one. If some do look almost human then who knows; maybe some in the town where also monsters just really well hidden? "Almost human- now that'd be a sight to see," was Jaylins' response with a small chuckle and nod. Though then this prickly feeling rose along his spine and he looked back behind himself. Feeling like they were being watched but nothing seemed out of the ordinary that- strange.

"I understand that. Some of these buildings don't look like they've been occupied for the last ten years- I'm surprised that the Inn is still open with how little people live here," agreed Jaylin as he looked to the town just to the left of the Inn. In its prime this place had to be beautiful and filled with so much culture, but now it laid an empty shell of itself. Half the buildings laid in darkness while others' seemed to be in disrepair. It was saddening to see such a place go to waste like this. Hopefull their investigation could lead to more people coming back to Morganar. Sanchezs' words brought Jaylin back from his thought pattern and he gave a small smirk, "Too many, I'll tell you what though this will definitely be something entirely different than any old police duty cases thats for sure,"

Then that staring feeling crept back up Jaylins' skin and he looked around for a moment before questioning to the other, "Do you feel like you're being watched? That keeper had to be making up a tale to tell us they're always watching us," Perhaps what the Keeper told was far from a tale after all.

James nodded he was very curious to see what almost human looked like. "Apparently a war happened here. I sort of read it in files. About this place, apparently monsters didn't like humans taking the wood. So they sort of haven't had enough people to fully repair this place." Placing the hat back upon his head gently adjusting it. "Well for sure this will be a case to tell the others back at home." When he felt an uneasy growing in the pit of his stomach.

Which was only solidified by the fact Jaylin brought up his own unease. "Perhaps that old Inn keeper was telling the truth in that way." Going to scan the area but not seeing nothing really. "If I had a guess they maybe similar to dogs. They probably smell us and are curious of who we are." Telling him as he still tried to catch movement or something. An odd breeze came through which sent a chill down his spine as he still saw nothing. But felt that unease of someone watching them. When breeze became a gust which took his hat off his head. And he went to turn to go grab it when a shadow above him caught corner of his eyes. Something big was on top of Jaylin and he grab his baton. "Get off of him!" Yelling at whatever this large creature was and took a swing.

Angelos could see that they were focus on the woods mostly so it was good time to try to move. They wouldn't expect an attack from above. But since the second guy looked like he could take his head off he decided to separate them. It started with just a normal breeze going through the woods to village. Which made it easier to manifest a bit of magic to make gust of wind to blow hat off of one of them.

Once the guy turned away and went to catch his hat. He went to easily and quickly glide his way to one with the silver badge. Using his weight and gust of wind to impact him from behind before. He was on top of him, and went to use one set of hands to hold him and other to snatch the shiny object off of him. From dim light Angelos looked huge creature with wide glowing yellow eyes and another set of dim glowing eyes on his wings. When he went to grab the item he realized it was attached to him. Shit! Didn't think this through and he heard shout behind him. Time to go, as he quickly bounded behind the building narrowly dodging the baton before he went to fly away.

So, Sanchez also felt that same unease as the other voiced that the Keeper might be right and comparing the monsters to dogs. That made them feel less harmful if they were anything like dogs or pets in general; just curious of them. Though the next few moments happened to quickly that Jaylin had barely enough time to process what exactly was going on. Something large, furry and surprisingly soft seemed to rain down from the roof above. Knocking him to the ground and he struggled a bit, but froze once his gaze locked with these wide, amber eyes. The creature was huge with large wings, many limbs but that was all he really got to see. In the dimming light of the sun setting and the quickness of the attack, plus the tugging at his chest for some reason, Jaylin didn't get a good look at the beast.

Then suddenly he became lighter as the creature bounded off of him. Hearing Sanchez yelling at the creature and soon it took flight, and Jaylin was able to scramble up with wide eyes. "Holy fucking shit what was that? And did it just try stealing my badge from me?" Where the only words to find their way to his mouth. Processing took a whole minute of why something that could obviously fly, and was so weirdly soft decided to try to rob him of his badge? It was strange but yet exhilrating to say the least. What a way to first encounter these creatures that was for sure!

Watching with curiousity as the Mothman seemed to plan his attack, and then follow through with his movements. Though it didn't exactly go the way Marc had thought thing would have gone for the Mothman. Knocking the human over after the other got distracted with his hat and going for the chest- but not until the other turned. Yelling at the Mothman and it triggering the fight or flight in Marc himself. Suddenly the whole situation was deemed unsafe for him to be there and he quickly scrambled away from the treeline- bolting for it.

Yet, Marc some how didn't get far in his haste of running. Bounding through a bush as fast as he could but then something caught his leg. A sharp pain radiated through his right leg and soon his right arm as he hit the ground. Squirming a bit with a loud deer-like noise before realizing a wire was wrapped around his leg. Tightening the more Marc struggled with the trap and he eventually curled up in fear; his need for flight just becoming solely fear. Unable to get himself free as the more he moved the tighter the wire got, and it had started to cut at his leg with how tight it had become. Giving another deer noise; Marc wasn't sure what to do besides hope he doesn't die.

James didn't get a good look at it either. All he got was something huge and multiple eyes. It it just all happened so quickly and so suddenly he couldn't understand or comprehend what was going on. The only thing he knew was that Jaylin was being attacked, supposedly by this monster. Somehow he managed to scare it away even though it looked large enough to take both of them down easily. "I-I dunno." He says very much startled. "All I saw was huge creature it looked to have multiple eyes and no human qualities." Quickly regaling his fleeting memory of what had happened.

Going to help the other up. "Are you okay? Did it hurt you?" Asking him as he didn't see any injuries on Jaylin at first glance. "Your badge?" Asking weirdly on this information, then he heard a strange noise coming from the field not to far off from the Inn and the woods. His heart was still pounding from the whole ordeal. "Did you hear that?" Asking him. "What was that? It sounded close like in the field over there." It was such a strange occurrence happening so quickly. "Do you think it was the creature that attacked you?"

Angelos had made it behind the building and took flight away from them. He just made it to the tree line and into the tree when he heard distressed noise. Looking over into the field he couldn't see anything, but heard the noise again. And went to try and see where that noise was at it honestly sounded like a creature from the forest. But where was it he couldn't see it. Though he did notice that the two humans were taking note of noise as well.

"I'm fine, it really did nothing to hurt me," He assured Sanchez and gave a deep sigh; that whole ordeal was insane. It definitely wasn't human nor was human like like they had discussed early that evening. Whatever it was didn't seem to want to harm them, but was more interested in Jaylins' badge than anything else. It didn't eat them nor cause any physical harm so that was good right? Then looked up at the noise coming from the forest and agreed with Sanchez; it was a creature of some sort. Though he doubted it was whatever had attacked him, "No, I don't think so. It sounds too- deer like to be whatever that thing was. Cause that was way too large and soft to be just a deer- then again who knows what it could be,"

Jaylin dusted off his shirt and moved towards the tree line, then remembered something that was out in the woods. "Before we got here, some folks had put out traps to try and capture some creatures that were eating their crops," He spoke to Sanchez and ran a hand through his ginger hair, trying to keep up with everything that was happening at that moment. So much had happened and they had only been here for about a few minutes! It was insane how intense things got so quickly. "Something must've got stuck in the woods on a trap; we should go free them or something cause it sounds like its in distress," In hindsight, probably not the best idea but whatever was trapped it definitely wasn't that massive creature. Or if it was; it strangely sounded like a deer.

James was relieved he wasn't injured at all. But wonder how come it didn't hurt them? Or why did go for Jaylin's badge? It was so weird and unusual. But he mind was brought away from those thoughts when Jaylin pointed out it sounded like a deer. He'd never heard a deer before. "Oh is that what it is." Then went to look over he still couldn't see anything.

As wouldn't an animal be freaking out even more? But still curious he went to put his baton away. "Yea let's go see what it is." He says to Jaylin and went to start walking to the field. The grass wasn't to long but it was very thick to say the least. Trudging his way along through the field as they made it to just short of the edge. "I don't…" James was about to say and then saw an impression in the grass. "Wait… I think I see it…" Says softly and tried his best to peer through the long grass. Making out Marc's general shape until he got closer. He was so strange and a bit wonderous almost. And tiny, or at least cause he curled up was caught in the trap. It looked like deer below and had horns, but it was obviously had human features. "It's kinda cute…." Telling Jaylin absentmindedly and shook his head. Why the hell did he just say that? "Uh…where's the base of this trap?" Trying to recover from his own unfiltered thoughts. "Hang on just moment we are going to get you out of this trap." Telling Marc as he tried to follow the line that ensnared Marc's ankle to where the base of the trap was.

The approaching footsteps and voices of the humans made Marcs' heart race further. Immediately trying to get up and get away yet again, but thusly he couldn't get very far. With no where to go and no way to get free- he more so silently panicked. Hoping they would just go away and leave him be, but of course that was the last thing humans thought of to do. These wide, rounded blue eyes looked up at the two men as they got closer to him, one of the muttering that he was cute and Marc felt his cheeks redden. Trying to scramble away as they got closer to him but there wasn't any where to go for him; he was desperately trying at least to get away.

The trap was spring loaded, one of the wire going into what look like a wooden mouse trap. Set to spring when something walked across the trip wire and keep them there until they were let go or killed on the spot. It was an easy way to detach, just had to cut the wire, which Jaylin pulled out his knife to do. This action caused Marc to visibly flinch with a soft bleat noise escaping his chest- instinctively thinking they where going to hurt him or worse. Jaylin, however, didn't react to the noise right away and more so cut the wire swiftly; freeing up the creatures leg as the wire loosened from its place.

That is when Marc scrambled up to his feet, being half deer made him incredibly fast, and bolt from them a few feet. Slowing down once he felt safe enough and turned back to look at them. His nose twitching in thought before digging around in his pouch he held on his side. Pulling out some amber shards of what was a gemstone, and slowly reapproached them. Those large ears back against his head and his tail twitched with nervousness before setting down the shards of stone. A little thank you present for freeing him before Marc took off again back into the forest. Heart racing with adrenaline of interacting with the humans and also being trapped suddenly. Where there more traps? He hoped not- as much as he'd like to see the humans again that was not the way to do it.

James felt when line go slack from when Jaylin cut the wire. Seeing the creature flee from them he was so fast. Quicker than any human would ever be. When he sort of came back obviously warily, and went to put something in the ground near them. Before running away from them into the Draken Forest. "Wow… I've never seen anything like that." And went to where he left something, and went to collect what he left.

Then went to bringing it back to Jaylin to show him. "Look at that." He says to him. "Isn't this… amber?" Asking him and picked up one of the shards of amber. "Pretty shiny." He says to him and smiled a bit. "Guess not all of them are scary, huh?"

Watching the creature go off into the forest, Jaylin let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding for some time now. What a crazy twenty minutes that had been huh? He could use a nap right about now that was for sure and not encounter another creature again for a good day or so. Allowing Sanchez to go see what the creature had left them and peered at it to see it was tiny shards of amber. Where on Earth did they get such stone? Definitely not from where Morganar sat that was for sure, and Jaylin couldn't help the laugh that escaped him from Sanchezs' words.

"I mean, that little satyr or whatever he was, no definitely not scary," He agreed with him and turned so they could trudged back through the grass- a bed at the Inn was calling his name and an end to this crazy day, "Whatever that bug thing was- wasn't scary per se but I would not wanna see it again that was for sure," He gave a small shake of his head, "We only just got here and have already had a bunch of crazy happen in the last twenty minutes. I think its time we hit the bed and hope tomorrow isn't as crazy within minutes," With that being said; Jaylin went ahead to lead them back to the Inn. Looking back at the forest for a brief moment- wondering briefly if these two creatures were going to be a common occurance and if that was a good thing or not.

Marc watched the two humans leave the clearing and tall grass from where he sat hidden in the dark forest. Peaking out as they had turned their backs and wondered if he should follow them. They had set him free not killed him- so humans where good right? Or well these two where good? He wasn't entirely sure, but he knew he'd remember being treated in such a kind way for many days to come. Couldn't forget people who decided to spare your life instead of murdering you. Then looked back into the air, wondering if the Mothman had similar thoughts about it as well? That maybe humans weren't as terrible as the stories made it out to be.

"Am I wrong? It's very shiny." He mused at him and went to start heading back to the Inn. This was amazing so many crazy things were happening right now. James was amazed at how strange these creatures were especially the first one. "I don't want to run into that bug one that attacked you. It sure didn't look like bug from where I was at."

Glancing back at the forest once more before he went into the Inn. "I hope not either." But who really knew tomorrow was another day and the investigation should fully start. "I wonder who they were?" James says absentmindedly.

Angelos had been watching intently. And honestly he was ready to dive in again when he saw they let Marc go. They didn't kill or harm him. They just let him go and now he was back in the woods. Normally humans would have killed one of them. Or at least that's what he'd been told by the elder beings. But this was different somehow as he went to glide to the forest floor. Crossing his arms and folded his wings down a bit. Then looked over where the deer person went. Before going to find someplace to sleep.

The next morning came faster than one intended; having fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. The sun was a haze amongst the fog that roamed the outside but it was warm out this morning at least. Cloudy skies greeted them as many of the force had woken up and was already to get going. Jaylin was a bit of a night owl so he tended to sleep in and groggily got up from the bed. Running a hand over his face with a small yawn before forcing himself to stand up, wash his face and get dressed for the day. Having been volunteered to be the leader of this so called investigation, Jaylin was to sort out what everyone should do.

Suppose starting with that of the murders and speaking to the family; which he sent a patrol to do. For himself and Sanchez, he had plans of going into the forest and finding more about what lay there. There had to be some creature that knew about the murders or missing people, and he hoped they'd be willing to help them out. With only a squad of five officers, Jaylin made sure two went to speak to the families of missing people and those who had been murdered. While he went to find Sanchez so they could head out into the forest, making sure to have a bag of supplies they could need and hopefully not run into that giant creature again. Though the satyr might be helpful to them.

After the nights escapade, Marc retired to his home in the forest. He had a little cottage out in the woods that he made himself from the world around him. It was small and made of motly clay, stone and branches, but it was his home to say the least. He spent a majority of the night doodling in his sketchbook. Drawing that human, his friend and wondered who they were. Falling asleep at his desk shortly after, waking with a start as the morning birds chirped away to the morning light. He stretched his arms above his head and gave a confused look around. Remembering the night before and looked down at his paper, now adorning some drool from his slumber, and picked up the paper.

Looking over the half-finished doodle of the red-headed man and his...friend. His friend adorned such a strong face, barely showing an expression, but yet had such caring dark eyes. Marc traced a finger over the drawing, wistfully wondering what these humans did afterwards. What where their names? Why where they here in the city? What sort of things humans liked to do? He glanced out his window at the cloudy sky and the sun trying its best to break through, and decided today was going to be a different day. He was going to find these humans and talk to them! Break the silence between creature and human! Marc gave a nod in affirmation to himself before getting up, grabbing his satchel with a few gemstones, food, and his sketch pad in hand. Fear won't stand in his way today!

The morning came sooner than what he expected. James had been spending some of the night writing down in his journal all the things he seen. Just so he would forget them. The strange bug creature that attack Jaylin, and strange faun-like creature that they managed to free from the traps. The strange sounds at night that seem to echo through the empty town. Any and everything he tried to record as to not forget another detail. When he finally did get some rest and only felt like may be a couple of hours before you have to be up for duty.

Jaylin had separated the group into a couple of smaller teams. When he got downstairs to where people bustled about. One of the men said Jaylin was looking for him no doubt cause of what they had witness together. So he went to find Jaylin who was obviously looking for him. "I heard you were looking for me."

Meanwhile Angelos just woke up from his slumber in cluster of trees he resided in the most. His body covered in droplets of morning dew. He went to shake them off and flapped his wings a bit. Letting out a tired yawn and realized he was starving. Flying burned a lot of energy and he needed food. As he sleepily climbed down the tree and stretched his four limbs. Smoothing his collar fluff and clumsily walked along looking for breakfast.

What did mothman like to eat? Just about anything. He was omnivorous. Most of his kind was more carnivorous side, but he like everything. As he wandered about the forest he found some edible red berries and went to eat some. This was close to the edge but still a few feet in the actual forest itself.

"I was yes, you're coming with me into the forest," Jaylin stated once James joined his side after the Englishman had been looking for him, "I have plans on what to do in the cases of the missing or murdered people; I am hoping to find that satyr again and ask them some questions," Then went on to tell the other about his idea of finding creatures to talk to. See if they had known anything about the missing people or anything that could lead them in the right direction. Leading James out of the Inn and out towards the forest, adjusting the bag on his back of supplies, and ran a hand through his hair out of habit of talking.

The forest expanded outwardly, growing darker the closer one got to the edge. Thick with foliage, a mist in the distance, and dark oak trees stood proudly. Though it was quiet the closer they got to the forest, like creatures had been sleeping still or not a creature dared stirred due to their presence. Jaylin looked up at the deep canopy of leaves and branches, the sun barely filtering through them, and it was noticably cooler in the air than outside the forest. He looked to James for a moment before trekking on into the forest. Having no clue as to where to go or even where to start, but he had a feeling they'd be helpful to him.

A bit of ways away, Marc had been walking towards the line of the forest. Watching the strange men in uniforms leave the Inn and off into the city limits. Perfect, so they where off doing their own thing again like last night. The deer moved back from the forest line and this new scent was brought upon the wind. Manly, musky and like fresh rain; must be the humans in the woods. He followed the scent with an eagerness and soon spotted the two men making their way through the forest.

Instinctively, Marc ducked behind a tree and watched them for a good few moments. Following a few feet behind them before the deer mustered up the courage to speak, "Hello?" His voice was meek, but he called out the best he could and flinched at his own voice. Tail wiggling in nervousness and his ears flicked backwards as his instincts wanted him to run for it. To get away and hide from danger, but Marc forced himself to stay planted on the ground, "Humans shouldn't be in here alone; it's dangerous,"

"If we can find him, however, it's a very large forest." He says to him and went to look over at Jaylin as he grabbed some canteens full of water. So that way they had some water to drink. And he brought a small medical kit with him that they had brought in the supplies for on field injuries.

When they got to the forest it was so different up close. Thick trees and foliage was everywhere. The canopy was thick above and moss grow everywhere. It was like entering a whole new world. As they went in there was somewhat of an old trail here. Probably used once upon a time by the townsfolk to cut trees. As they furthered in he notice subtle change in temperature cooler. But also this place was alive with animals so when voice called to them it was a little jarring.

Looking over to see the same faun from yesterday which was surprising. He didn't think he would see him again at least not so soon. "Hello again." James says softly. "I know we shouldn't be in here and we know it can be dangerous, but we are just trying to figure out what's going on in the town." Telling Marc. "Maybe you could help us perhaps?"

Angelos was enjoying the sweet berries. It was messy thing to eat as it got on his hands. Making them red as juice got on his his hands and little on his face. He was enjoying himself when he heard voices. His semi long ears perked up as his antennas picked up. Smelling the air which smelled odd to him as he went to quietly sneak to voices.

Climbing a large tree nearby and looked down to see those humans again. And that same deer person who was hiding behind one of the trees. What the hell were these idiot doing. As he watched them wiping some berry juice left over from breakfast smearing a little streak of red. His moth fluff flaring up slight. Watching and waiting to see what these humans would do.

The soft voice startled Jaylin as it came from behind them and he turned to see the deer from earlier. Allowing James to go on ahead to speaking to him and stood back to allow their interaction to go without scaring away the deer. Suppose it was easier to find him than Jaylin anticipated; almost like the satyr had been looking for them the entire time as well. He looked back into the forest and then back to the interaction, that same watching feeling creeping along his spine. They weren't alone in these woods and he sure hoped whatever was out there wasn't hungry.

Marc paced a bit in place, trying very hard to fight the urge to run away, and his little nose twitched. Daring to take a few steps closer to the humans and gave a small tilt of his head, "Help you? With whats going on in the town?" he echoed curiously, wringing his hand together in his nervous habit, "I don't know much about the town, but I am willing to help as much as I can," He got closer to them, now seeing how short he was compared to the two humans. That urge to run fading back as he realized they weren't going to harm him.

That was when Jaylin moved to stand beside James and speak to the deer directly now, "What can you tell us about the town? Do you know anything about it?" He questioned the deer to which the deer twitched an ear, holding his arms close to his chest.

"I know that the town is pretty empty, and that many humans have been leaving the town as well," Marc responded with a small shrug, "I'm sorry I am not much help, I don't tend to interact with the humans as much as the other creatures do,"

James saw that Marc came a little closer and he actually got a better look at him. Indeed he was just as small as he thought he was. "That's okay if you don't know much about the town." Telling him. "Do you know anything about the fog that rolls in this area?" Asking him. Trying to keep the questions simple and easy so as not to overwhelm the skittish creature before him. When an odd wind made the light of the canopy of tree dance.

And noise similar to casitas only louder filled his ears. It honestly tingled his neck and made him really uncomfortable as he slapped his hands over his ears. "What the hell is that?" Looking back to see that same creature early suddenly bounding off the tree and was moving to Jaylin. "Incoming!" Telling him though he was sure this creature was threat cause he made out dark red streaks on it many hands

Angelos could hear them questioning the deer person. And saw the guy with the shiny object and decided he would try again. Going to climb down the nearby tree quietly. He began to flap his wings a bit letting a slight chittering noise similar to casitas. Before he manage to make to tops of trees move making the light filtered through the trees dance. Spots of dark and light played on forest floor.

He bounded off to the tree his eyes glowing intensely as he used the shadows that now were dancing on forest floor. To make look more scare and intimidating as he went to try and 'attack' Jaylin. He just needed to snatch the shiny object from him and he could leave them be.

The noise was enough to startle Marc and he ducked behind James in fear with a small bleat in response. Then seeing it was in fact the mothman from earlier than had tried to get to them before hand. He was really keen on getting whatever was attached to the red-headed man and Marc couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the sight. Trying to be scary and intimidate his way through this.

Jaylin backed up as the creature made its way towards him, and he gave a small sigh of slight annoynace rather than fear. While it was an unsettling sight, he was more annoyed at the fact this creature wouldn't let up on anything. "What the hell does it want now? Didn't get its thrills yesterday?" Was the words that spilled from his lips and Marc let out another giggle.

"Mothman just wants your shiny object on your chest," Marc responded with a small chuckle pointing to his own chest as he spoke. Jaylin gave a confused look and then looked back to the creature, its glowing gaze sending a shiver down his spine before he went ahead to unpin his badge from his chest. This is what it wanted? His badge? Solely based on it being shiny?

"I mean they could just ask for it rather than trying to attack me every time," Jaylin responded and tossed the badge to the ground for the creature to grab. Giving a small shake of his head as he could get another badge easily when they went back to the city.
