It started with an egg...

As Asm was happy with the placement of the first bead, he skittered out to the ledge again, once more leaping off it and flapping his wings, and getting slightly further than last time. He rolled another bead back to the stove, and lifted it up in the same manner, still struggling slightly, yet managing to get it up on the first try. He crawled back into his lair, and rolled the bead towards the other!

She watched him take the beads one by one. she was impressed at his progress. Such a little and young creature was already starting to figure things out all on his own....it made her smile. She watched him very closely as she started to eat.

As Asm got the last of the beads placed in the back of his lair, he smelled that Rin was eating again. He wasn't hungry again yet, but peeked his head out to see if it was something he could take and store for later. Yet the mother figure seemed to bring in food often enough, so he didn't bother with that for now. Instead, he climbed onto the countertop again, and flapped his wings for a few moments, testing them for a bit, to see if he couldn't manage to actually fly.

Rin watched him but eventually looked at the fireplace again as she ate. She wasn't really sure what to say, after all he wouldn't understand her anyways.

Asm raised himself to stand as tall as he was on his back feet, with his wings outstretched for a moment. He let out a growl of something that sounded like Draconic, before tossing himself off the edge, and doing another clumsy attempt at flight, once more ending with him crashing onto the floor, with all the grace he could muster.

Rin smiled a little and walked over to him, checking on him. "You okay?" she said softly, certain that he couldn't understand her. She cared about him quite a bit, possibly even more than she cared about her own well-being. She checked him for any severe scratches, just to be sure. She knew he was still a bit soft, he'd need more time to strengthen his scales.

He had a few small bumps here and there, but nothing he couldn't walk off. As Rinchecked him out, Asm looked up at his mither-figure, and attempted to mimick her words, even if he knew nothing of it's meaning.
"Yhou?"

She smiled, he was trying to mimic her, trying to speak. "You." She said trying to at least get him to learn a word. She pet his head gently, glad that he was alright.

"Hyou" The little one murred, not quite being able to get it right, almost sounding avlittle chocked. Yet he murred happily up at Rin, as she had repeated the noise he had mimiced. Most dragons had a basic understanding of Draconic at birth, though they couldnt speak it. Though by the time they were mature, they tended to master many languages.

She smiled as he tried again. "good job! let's try again. You." she continued to pet his head as she tried to teach him a single word. She didn't care if he got it anytime soon, she just cared that he was trying. She wanted to teach him the common language and her own, even letting him learn languages that she could never understand. It was important to her that he learn many things, he didn't need to just be strong he needed to be smart. And that was her goal, to set him on that path to becoming powerful and intelligent.

Asm murred happily at the continued petting, before suddenly leaping up onto her shoulder, and laid himself around the back of her neck. "You?" He attempted again, still rather murry, yet rather close to the common tongue.

She grinned as he curled around her neck. "Very good You did it," she said pleased with the progress he'd made. She gently pet his head before slowly standing up. He felt nice and warm against her shoulders and neck, though she wondered if he was hungry.

Asm murred happily from his new vantage point, as Rin stood and started walking. He looked around from this new perspective, only to notice the long ear just above him. Curiously, he leaned up, and started sniffing at it. Then, finding it to smell like Rin, he started nibbling on it.

Rin quickly pushed his mouth away from her ear. "Hey now! Momma's ears are not chew toys. You hungry?" she asked as she walked to where she kept her meat. "I'll bet that's what it is."

Asm murred hungrily as they entered the pantry. He looked around at all the delicious things on display, leaning towards the many treats that were just out of his reach.

She giggled and picked out something before going over to the counter to cut it up into decent chunks for him. "You are indeed hungry," she giggled as she got some meat ready for him. It was deer that she had caught just the other day, it had taken her time but she had skinned and butchered it herself.

Asm climbed down along her arm as she cut up the meat, wanting to get it sooner than she could give it to him! It smelled fresh, almost as if she had just caught it and dragged it in! He snapped after it, hopping further and further forwards, trying to get it.

She giggled and held him back just long enough to finish cutting it up. "Alright! Here you go! Don't eat too fast little one," she said as she released the hungry dragon on the cubes of meat. She watched him as he gobbled it up.

Asm cared not for Rin's warning, nor did he understand it. He leapt from her arm, landing mouth first on the meat. The first was ripped in half and swallowed, with the others quickly following.

Rin smiled and watched Asm tear into the meat. As long as he was happy, she could be happy. It was rather cute to see him eat so eagerly.
