It started with an egg...

As soon as he was set down, he skittered forwards, away from Rin, to explore his lair. Before more than a moment had passed, he ran behind a cupboard, out the other side, and started climbing onto the kitchen counter, digging his claws into the wood to get a good grip as he jumped upwards, to see what this hill hid from him!

Rin let him climb and run about as he explored. She smiled and watched him climb the counter. She knew he had to explore the world around him and she simply decided to keep an eye on him.

Asm sniffed the many different things on the counter, occasionally knocking over small things, yet caring little, and moving on. He came to the end, and found the stove. One of the doors was slightly ajar, which was more than enough for him to push it open and slip inside! He growled happily, having found a dark little cave for himself!

Rin giggled as he slipped inside the stove. She was fine with him hiding in there, she preferred cooking over the fire anyways. She got up and started to clean up what he had knocked over, pretending he was well hidden.

Asm skittered about in his lair, rearranging what he could in there, to make it more like he wanted it, only to find himself kicking up a lot of soot. He stopped his work suddenly, standing still and trying to hold back for a few moments, before sneezing loudly, letting out a small spout of flame, and making soot shoot out of the door of the stove.

Rin giggled and opened the door a little. "Need a little help?" she teased, certain that he couldn't understand her. She brushed out a bit of the soot so he could breathe a bit easier.

The little dragon growled playfully at the head peaking into his lair. He swatted at the invading hand with his claws, not truly trying to harm her. He coughed a few times, as some more soot got caught in his throat, making a few bursts of fire erupt from his mouth.

Rin was careful as he started to cough. "Asm, let me clean it up a little." she said as she took him out, not caring if he scratched or bit her. She cared more for his health than her own. She set him down on the floor and started to clean out the soot from the stove, feeling bad that she hadn't done so earlier.

Asm started trying to bite Rin's hands as he was pulled out of his lair, yet he could barely get further than closing his jaw over her hand, before he started coughing, without fire this time. He coughed a few more times as he was set down, before he started shaking off the soot stuck to him. As he got most of it off, he started slowly crawling back towards the stove, curious as to what Rin was doing.

It didn't take Rin long to clean it out. Once it was clean she looked down at him. "Alright, you can have your stove back," she said as she went to wash her hands.

As Rin left, Asm jumped up, to climb back into his lair, kicking with his back feet for a few moments, as he didn't jump quite high enough, before he managed to pull himself in. He skittered about, wondering where all the... stuff that had been in there had gone. He murred happily, liking the cave-like feeling of it.

Rin smiled a little as she heard him murr.. She soon had her hands washed and went back to sitting in front of the fire. She wasn't sure what she could really do, she didn't want to leave him alone and there wasn't anything that she needed in town.

Finding his lair to be rather empty, Asm decided that he needed to get some treasures or something to fill it with... Yet he had no idea what sorts of treasures there were. It was simply instinctual for him, like most of the things he had done so far in his life. He skittered back to the door of the stove, and stood there for a moment, holding himself inside, looking around for a moment, before leaping forwards, and flapping his wings rather experimentally. He didn't quite fly, though he did glide rather shakily for a few moments, before crashing into the floor again.

Rin looked over and smiled. She couldn't help but think about how cute he was and how hard it had to be without someone who could show him what to do. She set out some large glass beads for him, to see if he was interested in them. they were more like marbles but they had painted designs rather than any that were part of the glass.

Asm shook his head slightly, to shake off the starts that had appeared behind his eyes. Then he spotted the glass beads Rin had laid down. He stared for a moment, before crouching down, and seemingly attempting to sneak up on them. He sniffed them curiously for a moment, wondering what they were, before he decided that they were big and shiny, and therefor had to be valuable! Also known as treasure! He leaned onto the nearest one, and started rolling it towards the stove, not yet thinking of how he would get them up to the door.

She giggled and watched Asm roll the closest one away. "So cute," she mumbled, "I'll have to find other trinkets for him to stash away." She looked around thoughtfully, what else could she put out for him? dragons had to hoard things, it was just in their nature.

Asm got the bead to the stove, and stood there for a moment, leaning on the bead with his front feet, and looked up at the door to the stove, then down at the bead. Then up and down a few more times. Then he pressed his head under it, while still having his front feet on top of it, and wings around it, and attempted to lift it. He got it almost to the door, only to hit the small shelf beneath it. He lowered and lifted it a few times, clanking against the metal, before the bead slipped from his grasp, rolling down his neck, and rolling away from him. He turned after it, and looked angrily at it, before chasing after it!

Rin giggled and stopped it from rolling too far away from him. She then moved away like nothing had ever happened. She smiled to watch him further. She couldn't wait for him to be big enough to have his own room. Eventually she'd have to build someplace for him to live.

Asm leaned on the bead again, looking suspiciously at Rin for a moment, before rolling it back to the stove. He started to lift it in the same way again, head underneath it, and front legs on the sides. He got it up to the shelf again, and moved it slightly away from the stove, to get it around the ledge. The bead started it's attempt to escape again, yet this time, he reached up with his tail and pushed it in again, this time managing to get it onto the ledge! He reached up, and held it in place with his head, before reaching up with his front feet, and lifted himself up, while pressing the bead in with his head. With a happy murr, he rolled the bead inwards, towards a corner, happy with his success!

She smiled, so proud of her little dragon. She watched him with great care. After a bit she got herself some more stew. She wondered if he was getting hungry or not yet. Part of her wished he could understand her. She knew better than to walk over and pet his head, he was in a defensive and protective mood.
