It started with an egg...

The little one leapt from her lap, flapping it's wings slightly to dampen the fall, and almost landing in the bowl, and started to chow down some more!

Rin giggled and watched the little one eat. "I'll have to name you, won't I?" she smiled, "hmmm probably something non-gendered. That would probably be best..." She started to mull over names, she didn't want an elven name, she didn't think it'd like that.

The little one ignored the matron's babbling, gorging himself on the meat served to him instead. And it didn't take long before he managed to flip the bowl, making him panic for a moment, as the bowl landed on top of him, making him thrash about a moment, before getting it off again. He glared at the bowl for a moment, before carefully stepping forwards, and sniffing at it.

Rin looked down and noticed the bowl. She picked it up and turned it back over. "Right, next time I'll use a plate," she smiled down at the baby dragon and made sure he could reach the last few morsels of meat before going back to the idea of naming. "Perhaps something simple..." she mumbled.

The little one finished off the last few morsels, before looking about for a moment. Then he quickly started crawling towards the fireplace at an alarming rate!

Rin laughed and watched the little one. He was a dragon and there was a short grate in front of it. "Now now, I get that you're cold." she said as she picked him up and wrapping it up, "but give your scales a little time okay?" She smiled at the little one.

He murred annoyedly, attempting to get out of her grasp for a few moments, before giving up, and letting her warm hands do their magic.

Rin smiled and held the little dragon close once he gave up. She moved closer to the fireplace and sighed. "A name....all this time I've been planning and never thought of a name." she said quietly, "How about Asmazus?" She offered the name to the baby dragon, trying to see if he liked the sounds.

The little one murred contently in her warm embrace, feeling his eyes becoming hard to keep open, especially with all the effort it took to hatch. And with a small growl, the little one fell asleep.

Rin smiled at the babe and yawned. It was late and she needed sleep as well. She carried the little one to her room and then placed him on the bed. She started a fire and then went to bed, clutching the baby close to her chest. She wanted to make sure he stayed warm.

The little one slept soundly in his mother's arms. Until about midnight, when he suddenly woke up, crawled out of her arms, and started attacking the bump in the covers that was her feet!

Rin woke up when he started attacking her feet. She quickly withdrew them underneath herself. "Hey....you woke me up..." she mumbled as she looked at him, "No attacking mama." she tapped the tip of his nose.

The little one growled at the tap, and snapped at her finger, playfully attacking her hand. He felt no need for more sleep!

Rin frowned. "No, I need to sleep little one," she said firmly as she threw a stuffed animal on the floor. She then set the little one down, having made sure the room was closed off from the rest of the house. "You can attack that, not mama." She yawned again and curled up under the warm blankets. It didn't take her long to fall asleep again. She knew there was a lot for her to do still and now she'd have to find him something to do while she slept. She still needed a few more hours of sleep.

The little one almost leapt after the thrown toy, only to be picked up, to thrash against the one holding him, until he was placed on the floor. He then looked around for a moment, before spotting the stuffed animal, and leaping onto it! Sharp teeth digging into the soft material, claws grabbing on to tear more easily with his jaw, and back feet kicking spastically. It took him less than an hour to tear the stuffed enemy apart, yet it wore him out to the point of falling asleep among the torn remains.

By the time he finished tearing apart the toy Rin was asleep. A few hours later she awoke to see the toy ripped apart and the little one asleep amongst the remains of the toy. She smiled softly and headed to the kitchen to get some food. The stew she had started was cold as the fire had gone out. She sighed and started a new fire to reheat it. She also got some meat out for the little dragon. She still had to decide on a name which made her frown.

The little one did not wake up as his new mother got up. Yet a little while later, there was a smell that roused him. He started making his way towards the smell, intendong to eat all of it!

Rin worked on getting everything ready for the day, it didn't take long for the stew to get hot and the meat to get warm. Once the meat was warm she pulled it off, deciding to cook a few pieces on forks, mostly for herself. She could hear the scuttling of his claws coming towards the room and smiled.

"Hrahrrr!" The young one announced as he entered the room, only to start runnig at his mother as best he could, which turned out to not be too quick, and still quite clumsily. He leapt towards Rin as he was but a few meters away, and attempted to fly at her, which ended with a crash landing at her feet.

Rin giggled and picked the little one up and placed him back on his feet. "There you go. That wasn't a bad jump there." she set the bowl in front of him and gently pet his head, "You still need a name. Asmazus is a good one, it means strength." She pulled her few bits of meat from the fire and chewed on them.
