It started with an egg...

The little one almost jumped into the bowl at the smell, and started nomming it down as if it was the first he'd eaten in his life. Which is almost was. He looked up at her for a moment as she spoke, still not understanding her, though finding her words to somehow have some meaning.

Rin smiled down at the little one as he looked up at her. That was a good sign, he was able to tell when she was talking. She let him eat and munched on her own few bits of cooked meat. She could tell he at least liked the food. Once her stew was ready and hot again she put some in a bowl for herself. She sat down on the floor and started to eat. She was amused by her little dragon.

Asmazus kept chowing down on the food, almost flipping the bowl again, before suddenly losing all interest for it, as he became full. He pushed himself away from the bowl, and looked around for a moment, before starting a quick crawl towards the fireplace again!

Rin decided to let him crawl towards the fireplace. He'd have to learn some lessons the hard way. She got a bucket of water just in case and sat back down to watch him. She finished up her stew with a soft smile. "You be careful Asmazus." she chided him.

The little drake ignored her words, and leapt into the fire, the tantalizing glow almost pulling him in. His scales were still new, and not quite in top condition yet, but he was still a drake of the Dragonflight of Fire! Soon, he would breath fire, produced inside him, and he could swim in the warmest and deepest seas of lava! But he was still young. He could stay in a burning fire for a few minutes unharmed. And as he got into the flames, his eyes seemed to start glowing, with lines of light seemingly coming from between his scales. He turned around, looked at Rin, and lay down, his head still held high, looking at her with a slight smile from the warmth.

Rin watched him with a soft smile, he was content for now and that was all she needed. She watched his expression, ready to throw the water on the fire if he started to get hurt. He would have to learn his own limits, she wouldn't be able to keep her eyes on him all day every day. She'd eventually need to find a husband, after all someone should always be there to care for him.

The little one simply lay there in the flames, seeming content with his current situation. Sure, it was getting rather hot for him, but he could deal with it! Yet after a few minutes, he got up, and made his way out, as if sitting in a fire was the most normal thing, and at once, he went over to Rin, and attempted to get some affection from her!

Rin moved back a bit. "Easy now little one. You're too hot for me," She said putting the bucket of water between them. She couldn't help but smile at the little creature, he was just so small and, to her at least, cute.

The little one growled unhappily as she refused to cuddle him. Yet he reached up to the bucket, planting his front claws on it, and dipped his head to the water, and started drinking deeply of it. Steam rose from the bucket as he first stuck his head into it, cooling down his head quite a bit, with what he drank cooling the rest of him, if a bit slower.

She smiled and gently pet his head, now that is was cooler. "Thirsty little one aren't you?" she said softly as she watched him.

"Mrah!" He murred up at her, enjoying her touch. Yet suddenly, a fly flew by, making him leap after it! With leaps and bounds, he attempted to catch it, flapping his wings in an attempt to fly after it.

Rin giggled and watched him leap after the fly. She made sure he stayed away from anything that could hurt him but let him try to catch it. It was good that he had an interest in chasing after things and apparently learning to fly. She wished she could help him learn to fly but she knew she could only do so much.

The fly flew up next to a wall, making Asmazus leap against the wall and digging his claws into the wood. With feral growls, he started climbing, determined to catch the damn buzzer! To escape, the fly flee away from the wall again, making Asm push off the wall, just in time to catch his enemy in his maw! As he was victorious, he threw his arms out, spreading his wings, and gliding safely back to the floor, where he chewed his meal happily.

Rin clapped for her little Asmazus and opened her arms for him to come to her. "I believe my little hunter deserves my affection!" she giggled. She was impressed with his gliding and she was certain that soon he could learn to fly. It would just take practice.

A few more bites, and he swallowed the great enemy, only to notice his matron opening her arms. If she had had wings, he'd have thought it to be a show of dominance, to make herself as big as she could, yet she didn't even wear a dress that made it look like so, and so, he bounded towards her, happy to receive her affections.

As he jumped into her arms she hugged him gently close to her. "You did so well little one!" she crooned as she kissed the top of his head. She showered him with affection and love. She was quite proud of him, he had caught that fly all by himself.

Asmazus murred happily in his owner's arms, attempting to wrap his small arms around her, yet finding the far too short. Yet he didn't care, for this woman was making him far too happy!

Rin smiled and continued to give him the affection he loved so dearly. It was adorable the way he tried to wrap his tiny arms around her. She knew that it was possible that she would never see him fully grown but she quickly brushed the sad thought aside. The day was only just beginning and there was so much to do!

Almost as quickly as he had snatched the fly, Asm's mood changed. He no longer wished to cuddle, because he had gotten a burst of energy all of a sudden! He started struggling against her grasp, attempting to leap away, in an attempt to get down, to play instead!

When Asm started to wriggle she set him down to let him run about. "So quickly your mood does change," she mumbled with a smile. She sat in a chair to watch him run about.
