Ok so this is a first draft because I was writing up today while offline and I realized I wasn't sure if the realities of the world matched up with what I was doing. I wrote up a first rough hash of the history as I saw it in my head, if you could take a look and see where it deviates from the world it would be mucho grando :3 also there's one or two bits missing I know.

Name: Alexander De'Malbrew

Age: 27

Gender: Human

Race: Human

Nationality: Rothendust

Appearance: Standing at just a shade over six feet tall, Alexander has a frame that would be more readily expected from a dancer than a soldier with well-developed yet lean muscles. His chest and arms have a collection of scars acquired mostly through training all though a couple were won in battle. His hair is a light, almost mousey brown and his eyes are a blue grey color interlaced with flecks of yellow.

Personality: Alexander's main goal in life is to have as much fun as possible and while he is on a personal quest for glory, he is quite prepared to wait a while longer for it if that means having lots of fun on the way. For him there are very few finer ways to spend an evening than carousing in a loud and boisterous tavern with his friends, showing off his talents and winning the heart of a beautiful lady.

If someone was looking for a word to describe Alexander other than hedonistic then loyal would be a good choice as those he calls friends have a true ally. While he might bicker and quarrel with a friend when push comes to shove they will be able to count on Alexander to stand by their side come what may.

Weapons and Attire: Alexander's typical daily garb consists of a plain linen shirt and knee breeches overlaid with a somewhat ostentatious leather coat and knee-high boots. On his right shoulder there is a decoratively etched steel pauldron which is followed by a series of plates that cover Alexander's upper arm. On his wrists there are a pair of equally decorative leather hardened leather vambraces. The ensemble is usually topped off with a dark red shoulder cape fixed across Alexander's left side. He also has a segmented steel cuirass that fits over the top of his clothes for wearing when he knows he is going to be in a fight.

His family's wealth means that Alexander has weapons of the highest quality. On his left hip he carries a forty-inch steel rapier with an exquisite basket guard while on his right there are a pair of large flint lock pistols and accompanying accoutrements. Finally, across the small of his back Alexander has a nineteen-inch main-gauche for use in his off hand while fighting. Alexander also owns a long flintlock musket for hunting but due to the size and weight of the item it is rarely on his person.

Magic: None

History:

Alexander was born the second grandson of William De'Malbrew, a nouveau riche money lender from Rothendust. Because of how William made the family fortune, the rest of society saw the family as horribly gauche and tawdry, up start counter jumpers. The ever-growing family fortune did little to dispel these snobbish attitudes from the cites more blue-blooded residents or to appease William's desire to be accepted by society.

From the very moment William held his second grandson, Alexander's destiny lay in the military. With his older brother destined to join the family business, Alexander's determined role in life was to lavish the family name with glory. While the rest of society could pretend to ignore the family's wealth honor won on the battlefield could not be so easily dismissed. Williams original plan had been for one of his own sons to join the military but he had only been blessed with the one.

Growing up Alexander was lavished with all the trappings and privilege that come with great wealth whilst simultaneously being rigorously drilled and educated in all the skills he would need to become a successful soldier and gentleman, studying everything from swordplay and tactics; to the latest scientific advances and classical poetry. William spent a considerable fortune ensuring that his grandson had the best tutors in the known world and by the time Alexander reached adult hood he was a highly accomplished, if unproven, gentleman.

Using more of the families' wealth William secured Alexander a commission in the Rothendust Military, where he was subsequently assigned to help guard the city and it environs. While the spirit of XXXXXX helped to protect the city's residents, the sheer size and wealth of Rothendust acted like a magnet for undesirable elements. This time provided Alexander with an education that no amount of money could buy as well as making him realize that no matter how good he thought he was it was good to have someone he could trust standing by his side in a fight. To this end he started to spend increasing amounts of time socializing with and growing close to the other member in his unit.

Unfortunately, the other members of his unit weren't the only people Alexander grew close to. His dashing good looks, access to his family's money and role as an officer meant the Alexander had very little difficulty in attracting a certain kind of lady and he had a string of affairs, most often with some of the more impressionable daughters of the city's upper classes though he also had a fair number of encounters with married ladies dissatisfied with their husband's. For the most part William was able to hush up news of his grandson's dalliances through unusually generous gifts to the lady's family although rumors still spread, rumors that Alexander helped to encourage enjoying the infamy rather more than his grandfather would have wished.

The incident that got Alexander unofficially exiled from the city was a particularly explosive end of one of these affairs. The lady on discovering that not only did Alexander was not being faithful to her caused quite a scene in the central plaza of the city. Unable, and by now somewhat unwilling to cover up Alexanders dalliance this time, William decided it would be a good thing for his grandson to spend a good amount of time finding glory away from the city. With his connections and the promise of a few debts to certain people being forgotten William managed to secure Alexander's place on the expedition to the Kindred sanctuary meeting.

I have read and understand the rules.

I'd like to get this started soon and I can't really make my second character until I see the rest of our roster because I want him/her to fill in any missing slots. Not giving a hard deadline yet, but soon would be nice!

I'll get Kirn up tomorrow, sorry about the delay.

Name: Kirn Firaser
Age: 32 years old
Gender: Male
Race: Kindred-Human/Dragoon mix
Nationality: Rothendust
Appearance:
36aa0e7255544a91554ba704d8d4c863.jpg

Kirn is about 5'11 in height. His eyes are amber in colour. As for his hair, usually shorn to just a few inches, it is black in color, though when hit with light seems to highlight blue. Just behind his temples grow two curled horns, a sign of the dragoon blood in his veins.
Personality: Kirn as an individual is a friendly and kind soul. Whilst he is part quiet and introverted for the most part, that does not stop him from being there for someone who may be in need. He is quite the patient fellow, and it takes a lot to rile him up; even then, he has control over his emotions and will try to reason, use calm and cool words. If that doesn't work, he may resort to laying things straight before the other person. He doesn't like violence and will try to keep himself from even thinking vicious thoughts.

He cares deeply for most people and will take the time to learn about them. Being the quiet, friendly person he is, he's a good listener, giving his full attention to whoever is conversing with him. If someone has a problem, he'll try to find viable solutions, or at least show them positives in the solution. While optimistic, he is a realist as well. Life doesn't always go the way a person wants it to, and Kirn understands this.

Knowledge is something he likes to seek. He may not be the smartest or wittiest person around, so he isn't afraid to ask questions. However, he isn't nosy, and he won't poke his neb in other's businesses.

Weapon(s) and Attire:
  • A three foot long staff
  • Small shooting daggers and needles hidden on his person, at times coated with poison.
  • Kirn's attire depends on where he is. In warmer climates he likes to wear loose pantaloon and sandals, topped with a headcloth. Where it's cooler, he will wear appropriate clothes, usually consisting of thicker shirt and pair of woolen pants. He will also replace the headcloth with a scarf.
Magic: Healing- As Kirn has kindred blood in his veins, he possesses the ability to make deals with the spirits. However, there is also the human part of him which isn't as adept at handling his ability. As such, it requires a good deal of concentration for him to use Kindred magic as well as eating up quite a bit of his life in the process. For this reason he keeps this ability of his as a last resort.

Skills:
  • Herbologist- As he's always been quite keen on aiding people but didn't want to lose his life in the process, Kirn learned how to make different medicinal potions. As a side, he knows how to make quite a few poisons as well. Of course, with this knowledge he can easily pick up various plants with medicinal properties on something as simple as a stroll outside.
  • Body language- Kirn is quite well at reading people and taking into account how they may be feeling just by subtle tells, as he's a keen observer.
  • Marksmanship- Kirn has a sharpshooter's eye with which he uses his poisoned needles to attack. As such, he is good at throwing other small projectiles.

History: Kirn was born in Rothendust to his kindred mother and his human/dragoon mix father. His mother had been a herbalist and healer, though she left the practice after she had gotten pregnant with Kirn. As for his father Devan, he was a military man, a Paladin of Var. While he was a good and honest man, he was busy with military affairs for the most part, so much so that when Kirn was finally born, he wasn't by his wife's side. Kirn's pregnancy had been difficult for her in general, and his birth didn't get any easier, causing complications. Thankfully for her, she was able to use her healing power to save both her and the baby's life, but this caused her own lifespan to lessen drastically, so much so that by the time Kirn was three years of age, his mother had passed.

Distressed that his wife had passed, most of Devan's attention was paid to his work. Kirn in the meantime was brought up under the eyes of his grandparents, though they too were more preoccupied taking care of their own brood of children who were still dependant on them. As such, Kirn learned from a young age to deal with people as well as taking care of himself without needing much help from anyone else. By the time he reached his late teens, he informed his father his wish to travel and learn more about the world in general. Devan was not averse to this; he knew he wasn't the best of fathers and it wasn't like he could suddenly impose his rules on the young man.

Kirn had spent most of his childhood earning his own keep by doing odd jobs, so he had some money to travel with and make sure he wasn't destitute. He traversed through many places, though his first destination was the Sanctuary, wishing to learn more about his mother's race. Whilst here, he learned quite a bit about the kindred magic as well as the effects it would have on his own being. Realizing that using her magic was probably the reason his mother died, Kirn decided he wouldn't dabble in that part of his heritage unless it was absolutely necessary. Instead, he decided to learn more about healing in a traditional way, using plants and other ingredients to create both potions and poisons. Much of his time at the Kindred Sanctuary was spent in the forests, enjoying the calm and peace he felt as he studied.

Some years passed before Kirn decided it was time to pack up and head back to Rothendust once more. While he enjoyed it here, he realized that his talents would probably have more use elsewhere around the world. Once more a traveler, he decided to travel through the Begix Territory, which he hadn't actually visited the first time travelling that route. It was very different than what he was used to in the sanctuary, but he found himself enthralled with the oasis, seeing greenery in such an arid land. It was here where he met Maylee, and after some time decided she would make a lovely travelling companion.

When they parted at last, Kirn was once more in Rothendust. It had been years since he had met his father, but when they finally met the two realized that the distance had actually made them closer than they were when Kirn was still a child. Though Devan was slightly disappointed that his son wasn't exactly warrior material, he was nonetheless pleased that he had found his way in the world through study and work. He was the one who encouraged Kirn to volunteer for the expedition, giving a recommendation of his own.

I have read the rules

@Squee How is Alexander's sheet looking? Typos and missing bits aside (i'm working on those) I had to go a bit freestyle with the bio and it is maybe a little vague and wafflely because I was making it up as I went along more than I was entirely comfortable with.

I'll read your characters later, I have a busy day ahead of me, girlfriends college graduation was today and her family is in town.

Edited version that hopefully has all the bloopers removed (Gender: Human - Lawd XD) *Sweats*

Magic:

Skills:

Quick reflexes - Years of training under the best tutors in a fighting style the relies primarily on avoiding an opponent's blows whilst simultaneously looking for a tiny window of opportunity to trike in means has honed Alexanders reflexes immeasurably.

Athletic - The life of a soldier, even a very rich one is full of activity. Years of training and patrolling the city streets mean that Alexander is in fine condition. He won't be lifting hay carts off trapped peasant single handed but he can keep going physically when many would have collapsed into a sweaty heap on the ground.

Charming - Alexander has always had a way with people. He might not be perfect at it but generally he can find someones levers and gently push them till they come round to his point of view

No she disappeared before the holidays. Though she did say she was working on a character a bit ago before she vanished, it had a name too. So, if she does come back it might be done.

@ShiroKiyoshi Alright, you're up. How soon do you think you can have a character?
