The simple answer is "I don't." Some of you guys are essentially doubled-up on roles. Differentiating yourselves isn't my job, it's yours. The other obvious way to deal with problems of stacked roles is to split everyone into two squads, since we've got so many people.

For the most part, the balancing act is more that I don't actually care what your fluff is. A laser is as damaging as a mundane bullet is as damaging as plasma at [arbitrarily high] degrees. Similarly for defenses. There might be some variability, particularly on the enemy side or your personal choices, but it's mostly there to say that nobody needs to freak out over the specific fluff on someone's weapons because it's OP as written.

The way I see it, the roles are distributed as such amongst the cast:

Mirana Kamaria - Melee / mid-range combat specialist, infiltrator. Focused on mobility.
Esfir - True support, quick-response melee unit. Balanced.
Alice Aegis - Long-range combat specialist, artillery. Focused on offense.
Toro Suzuku - Mid-range combat specialist, offensive support. Focused on sabotage.
Charm-4 - Long-range combat specialist, sniper. Focused on offense.
Komei Yasunova - Melee combat specialist, warrior. Focused on offense.
Eunike - Melee combat specialist, offensive support. Balanced.
Yulia Nazarova - Melee combat specialist, warrior. Focused on offense.
Rika Kamaria - True support, long-range combat unit. Balanced.

This is by no means a complete summary or a guideline, but rather my interpretation of what role each team member would fit the best based on their equipment with a slight help from the description of their fighting style. Based on this, the team does have a slight focus on melee specialists, but I think that the overlap is tolerable. Of course, the end decision is in R-9's hands.

There actually might be finer divisions than "every attack is at the exact same scale," but you get the gist of it. It's less what the specific weapon is/does, and more the way it's used. Stuff you're going to be shooting all the time will be weaker than the finishers, charged attacks, wave cannons, and so-on. It's not like I need to go too in depth with this, and it's mostly just so if someone showed up with only things that had over-wrought descriptions and then complained when all their attacks with top-tier fluff don't one-shot everything, I can point to exactly why that's happening.

...huh, we really only have nine people? I might just be able to make the tenth, then. Unless someone swoops in at the last minute.

Like I said, Unyielding, that was just a quick assessment of your characters' skills from my perspective. I tried to find a good archetype for everyone on the team, but that does not mean that I am 100% correct or that your character needs to take on the role I described. I just thought that it would be useful if we had something as a reference.

But for my character, your not wrong...

She is an long range fighter artillery style fighter.

granted she can hold her own in most levels of range combat and wreck havoc from afar. she still needs to know where the target is and be able to predict their movements.

so a sniper type fighter would be my bane. Someone who is quick enough to avoid my heavy weaponry, stay hidden, and use a high priority long range weapon (the sniper rifle)

I designed my character to have a weakness in exchange for massive fire power. and A sniper is one of those people who can take advantage of that.

I find it just fun because in reality, Artillery can potentially beat anyone however they have enough weakness to be beaten by anyone.

Snipers aren't fast though? They're just stealthy.

12 hours to final submission? Or is it 24? It's 12.49 PM in my timezone atm.

@Asuras
It seems like some consensus leans toward "play Benedicta." I won't really weigh in strongly one way or the other, though I will say that I'm a bit leery of being able to completely no-sell everything for a few seconds, even if it's only every once in a while. I'll allow it against my better judgment for now, because I don't think you're out to abuse things to some really ridiculous extent. I will say that 100 meters might be a bit too far range for the Iron Halo, though.

So, play her if you like. If you're really not sure, flip a coin. I think that as long as someone with an Immovable Rod up her ass isn't too inflexible, she'd fit in well due to driving other characters nuts, though.

IC will be up as soon as I figure out how to make it, and half-ass an opening. Probably, you guys will get a few posts to meet and establish characters, then right into a mission thing.

Uhh, no offense, Unyielding, but Eunike's hair is white because she is an albino.

Sorry about that. I did not know because your battle mode and causal picture have 2 different colors. And since we were not in battle... i assumed the latter. I will rectify this mistake pronto. If i may request, can you put that in your description to halt a future mistake on my part.

-edit-
edit my post to correctly label your toons hair color

Sorry if that was not immediately clear. I thought that the picture was enough, but I added it to the description.
