Blake knew that he had to do what he was avoiding earlier, to ensure that he didn't do the same mistake of recklessly thinking that he would be the sole protector of everyone. He wished he could undo what he did wrong, but at least with this revelation, he can start thinking in this way than the last. Before he could say anything more to Senna, the vigilante was caught offguard by the sudden hug. After all of that stress that he and the others put themselves into, after what went down between him and Senna... it honestly surprised him that a hug was given at this time.

"S-Senna... !?"

Right at the moment that Senna initiated the hug, Blake's face went completely red, his eyes wide in surprise. Given from a lesser known fact that he never had a moment like this with any other girl, he wasn't exactly sure on how to react in general when it came to this. Yet, he took her words in, and knew that this was what she meant by "what he needed besides a slap." Once the surprise washed away, Blake embraced the hug that he and Senna were sharing, wrapping his arms around her tightly.

"Alright, it's a deal then... Once we get out of this mess safely, you'll get a real smile out of me... and maybe... we can hang out at some spots that I know of..."

It was his attempt at lightening up the mood, but Blake felt a bit idiotic for making a subtle offer to hang out with her once it was over. Then again, he wasn't exactly sure if this was the last time he would have a chat like this, so he had to get it out there in some way or form.

"I'm glad," Senna replied to Blake, feeling a once uncomfortable weight seem to lift off her shoulders after hearing his words. It seemed as if his thoughts had finally straightened out and he was more like himself than he had been for a while now. "I never thought you were careless though," the girl added, shaking her head. "If anything, all this time, you were being brave and thoughtless. It's okay if you want to be like that; I'm just glad you don't think you have to fight alone anymore."

While embracing Blake, Senna was unable to see the flustered look on his face. She worried for a short moment that he may not have wanted to be touched by her, a worry that would be quickly washed away when the male would hug her back. The girl's heart fluttered lightly, and she tightened her arms around him for a brief moment. She had only intended for the hug to show him that she was serious about the things she said, but she actually enjoyed it a lot more than she thought she would.

"Hey, that sounds like fun," Senna replied, slightly pulling back from the hug after a moment. "You could show me around some shops and maybe buy me a new ribbon too! Red ribbons look the cutest on me, but I'd love to try out some other colors too." She giggled before adding, "It's a date!"

It took the girl a moment before realizing what she said, causing her to smile sheepishly. "Um, what I meant by that was... a hangout date." A light blush covered her cheeks and she would shrug her shoulders, shyly glancing down at her hands. "Unless, that is, you want it to be a date date. I'm fine with whatever."

As he continued circling around, Birkin chose his next target; Hakuei, whom he lunged right at now!

For once- perhaps for the first time since Shirou had earlier told her to go along with the statement that they were a couple -the blonde actually smiled. Faintly, albeit, but a smile. "If that is as you wish. Shirou." She was happy to protect any and everyone in the group, even those that had evidently been killers... Apparently, Clark included. No matter how worn she was, she was prepared to fight til she dropped if need be.

And so, with a mighty cry, she charged, aiming to throw a punch to hopefully launch the beast back against the wall with force, hopefully defending Hakuei in the process.

While a ki blast was certainly more useful, 18 didn't risk any more collateral damage in the form of dead comrades.

Seeing Annette jump into harms way, in an attempt to help what was left of her husband, Schala hesitated, not sure if she should proceed any further... Until Annette ended up jumping right into the path of a bullet that had been directed towrads Birkin.

It pained her to realize that Annette had chosen to end her life like this... Out of some sort of connection she must still have shared with what once was her husband, but, at the same time... If they didn't put an end to that creature's assault somehow, it wouldn't just be Annette's life that would be lost, as it was hard to say what Clark would do... If Wanda was unable to help him in time.

With the others fighting Birkin along with herself, Schala was given ample time to build up the magical energy within her that she needed, and thus... She unleashed one of her most powerfull attacks.

Like her brother, she possessed the ability to call forth a damaging form of Dark Matter for a small window of time, at the cost of a greater fraction of her magical power.

Thus, a dark patch, where no light seemed to ever permeate suddenly appeared around the Birkin, or what was left of him anyways, appearing to follow his body wherever it went. Though those who might have been caught in its area of effect remained relatively unharmed, it seemed that tendrils of darkness were wrapping itself around the body of Birkin himself, smothering his body... And eating away at any, and all portions of Birkin's body it touched, at an alarming rate.

While this "Dark Matter" only seemed to remain for around 5-6 seconds, it would hopefully have left Birkin rather mained to say the least... Or at least damaged enough to make it more difficult for him to fight anymore.

As a side effect though, regardless of what had happened, Schala looked a little pale, and seemed quite worn out, looks like she was temporarily weakened by the efforts exerted to unleash an attack like that...

Perhaps she should have stuck with a simpler one...

Cagliostro erects a stone wall in front of her, causing Fierce-Heart Ali to splatter all over it.

Cagliostro sees Mutant Birkin charging at Hakuei.

"Don't cross another line after you've just crossed a couple hundred, you bastard!"

Cagliostro's face of utter sadism turned to an emotion of rage as she conjures Ouroboros, breaking the nonexistent chains that bound her. Using the aforementioned stone wall as a platform, she jumped onto Ouroboros' back.

As Mutant Birkin wildly charges at Hakuei, Ouroboros unleashes a void-like pillar of energy, blasted straight at the mutated doctor's face, distorting it with mysterious forces likened to unstable gravity. That, combined with Schala's Dark Matter spell, was going to hurt a lot.

Lucifer looked over at the ground and bit down on his lower lip. He was ashamed that his attack had missed, but he hadn't expected Penny to teleport him and he had no time to react. " Goddamn it Penny, I could handle myself. We need to get back to save the others. This isn't just about us any more, it's about them too. We all have the same goal, we all want to go home. Take me back to the goddamn room," he said, his eyes glazing over with redness from his annoyance.

Meanwhile back with the others, Linda felt horrible. She had wanted to hurt Birkin. She hadn't intended to kill Annette. As much as she regretted it, she shot another shot, hoping it connected.

Domon took a battle stance as the mutated William began to attack the group, and hung back for a few moments as the others dealt blows to the monster. He may not have had any superhuman abilities or magic, but he knew he couldn't just watch the others fight. As soon as he found an opportunity, he would jump forward to join in. Aiming for the monster's head, he would unleash a flurry of punches on what used to be William.

Twisted Fate gasped when he saw what happened to Ali. This was another one of those rare occasions where T.F did not expect something at all. Ali was the only person considered to be his friend in this unknown world. His face went dark and his hands turned into fists as he struggled to hold back his anger. He suppressed his emotions as best could; he didn't like losing his cool. He muttered something in a relatively calm voice.

"Big mistake."

Twisted Fate brought out an explosive red card and channeled a large amount of mana into it, causing it to glow brightly. Afterward, he threw it toward William with inhuman speed. As the card soared through the air, it glowed a blinding red light. Upon impact, it would cause a larger explosion compared to his typical cards. This single card represented all of his hatred toward this foul beast.

There was no time to feel relieved that people had indeed voted correctly on Clark Kent, which would hopefully have lessened the scrutiny on Alucard. All of a sudden this man just morphed into a monstrosity that the group had been encountering with familiarity throughout their time here.

Leaping on the opportunity to land more hits on the currently frozen man-turned-monster, Hakuei let loose a series of cutting blasts of wind, aiming to slash or cut down William's limbs.

He flung three orbs of fire towards Hakuei's winds, but he was evidently too slowly to respond to her calls. The dhampir could only move back as the monster advanced, attacking everyone around it. The distaste he had towards the beast, even though it may have been a man before, was clear on his face. A creature like that had no place in the world.

This time, he wasn't going to be slow. As soon as he saw the beast pounce towards Hakuei, he moved fast.

It would not be the brightest of ideas to rush into the fray himself, but he knew who could - and someone who couldn't exactly be killed. The dhampir, as swift as lightning, brandished what appeared to be a decorated deck card. In response, a detailed rune circle materialize on the ground just steps in front of him, a highly ornate and living sword emerging from the depths below.

The blade turned around once, the blade shining under the light - or was it emitting one of its own? - before it seemingly shattered.A rain of swords - a hundred in total - fired themselves straight towards the monster with the intention to stop it in its tracks.

"Jaffar!"

Hakuei cried out the assassin's name as the beast charged at him, slashing down her fan a second too late after he was already impaled on the spikes. Another one of Azura's group... The sounds of the spikes sloshing out of the man's body as he fell lifelessly to the ground was sickening, but the princess had little time to grieve for the death of the man as she felt the beast's eyes on her.

She could see the rest of the group already attacking the beast in hopes of defending her. Thinking fast, Hakuei swept her fan outward, leaping out of the way of the beast with a burst of wind exploding in an arc from her to blast the beast away, and hopefully drive it further into the other's attacks. She noticed Alucard's attack and pushed the winds to drive Birkin into the hail of swords he summoned.

"A...ah..." Kujou stuttered. The scene left her completely in shock. There had already been so much death in this awful place, but at least she could close her eyes to it as "someone she didn't know." It was awful and wrong to think that way, but for her, it was the only way she could cope with it.

This time it was someone she knew. He taught her how to use a gun and tried to keep her out of danger. This deformed thing had killed Ali. A trembling hand reached into her pocket. A golden card pulsating with magic emerged from it, one identical to the ones Twisted Fate threw around. The other hand withdrew a small handgun.

"How dare you, how dare you kill him!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. A golden card and spray of inaccurate gunfire came for Birkin from the normal girl, her assault fueled on nothing but mourning and anger.

James Proudstar Warpath

James frowned when Annette died to save her more than flawed husband. This whole thing was a cursed business. Nothing he did here ever seemed to work. He had one more thing he could try.

As the others fought, he called out to his ancestor spirits using his medicine bag. He knelt and sang a song. He called out to the ancestor spirits to honor him. He called out in the song for the power to be thought be the monsters here as beneath their notice that he might strike them with impunity. He knelt and sang with all of his heart. He cried out to his ancestors that he might honor them with a good death and remove these threats to mankind. He didn't care so much for his life but the lives of these heroes.

He rose slowly as the other attacks were going off. If there was anything left of the monster he would approach it as if still in a dance... still singing to praise his ancestor spirits. If it worked, if he got close without being killed he would strike it in a slashing manner with his Vibranium alloy hunting blades and the great strength and nimbleness of his mutant body.

It was Steve's initial intention to investigate Iron Man's condition, but Azura's initial strike and Jabber's attack forced him to stop and block their attacks. "Come on!" he yelled. He fell easily into Azura's ploy, becoming drenched. With Thor locked in position with Ultron, they too were drenched, but this was a detriment to Thor.

Alice's attacked slammed into Ultron's back, but it was not enough to pierce his metal skin to any significant degree. He responded to the attack by slamming an arm into Thor and sending him flying across the room, where he then turned to Alice and said, "So very foolish." She would feel a pain blossoming in his head, for his threats had not been mere bluffs.

Cullen knew that was a sign that he had no choice but to participate. He would not die again, not after all this. He kicked a piece of debris across the room, forcing Steve to knock it away with his shield. It was more a small formality-- an indication that he was at least willing to act in order to avoid certain death.

And back they were at the battle.

"Try not to 'die'"

He drank from his flask, and got ready for a fight. Of course, now he was making sure Lucy was in his line of sight all this time...

Lucifer looked at his scowl. He understood it.

Lucifer hadn't intended to hurt people, but it seemed that no matter what world he was in, it was the only thing that he could do. Hurt and disappoint people who thought better of him. He wished that things were different, but it was sadly the story of his life. Penny, his father, Chloe. He disappointed everyone he met.

He was happy when they arrived back at the battle.

At this point, Lucifer was beyond pissed, as evident by his red eyes.

He took a deep breath and amplified his powers. God, he hoped that the thing that once known as Birkin still had a desire to die. " Hey, beast Birkin, walk into the goddamn spikes." He hoped that worked, he was sure that he wouldn't be able to use much more of that without it getting weaker. If that didn't work, he shot for Birkin's face, using his trick with telekinesis and the bullet.

Just the thought of being able to do what he sought to do for so long, to protect others like he had sworn to do once he took up arms as a self-proclaimed vigilante, he felt content with it. Now that he had the company of others that had the same idea as him, it felt comforting, and that he wouldn't have to suffer alone by carrying along a large burden.

Though, he blinked at Senna's next statement, mentioning an idea of a date. Of course, she corrected herself and said that it was merely a hangout. Well, he hasn't been in an actual date, and the thought of being a part of one... it was something he had to mark off of the bucket list. Funny that their relationship had changed over this whole terrible mess... and it gave him the idea of hope even in the darkest of times.

"Weeell... now that you mention it... didn't I tell you that you shouldn't tempt a man with those types of ideas? Who knows what's going on in my head right now? Not that I would mind an actual date date, sounds like a good learning experience... Ehehe~"

Letting out a small laugh, Blake couldn't help but make a comment that he would've made way back at the beginning of this mess, before the deaths happened and whatnot. She folded them together, thinking about what the dark-haired male might say in reply to her. Knowing how flirty Blake was, Senna wouldn't have been surprised if he were to jump all over the idea of going on a date with her, if only to enjoy a bit of flirting. To be honest, Senna hadn't ever gone on date when she was a human. She died young and had never been given the chance.

The closest she had probably ever been to having gone on a date was the time she spent with Ichigo. The teen's father and sisters had even gone so far as to think she was his girlfriend. It was all very amusing at the time. Still, it had never really felt like a date to Senna. While Ichigo would always be special to her, she never had enough time with him to see if things would go any farther. And, in all honesty, she doubted things would ever go farther. Ichigo had his own life and his own friends. There wasn't any room for her. Not to mention, he often hung out with soul reapers from the Soul Society and they didn't really like Senna too much...

Senna waved her hands, a sheepish smile on her lips when Blake would call the girl out on tempting him. "I-It was just a slip of the tongue, silly! I promise I wasn't trying to tempt you. Careful where that mind of yours goes," Senna teased in return, deciding to give him a playful poke between the eyes. "Huh, you actually do want to go on a date date then, huh? I--"

The girl paused, a blush filling her cheeks when she would think over what he had said. Why would it be a good learning experience? Just what kind of "experience" are you planning for this date to be, Blake? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But wait, saying this was to be a learning experience could also mean--

Senna placed a hand over her mouth to partly hide the blush on her cheeks, giggling afterwards. "If going on a date is a good learning experience, does that mean Ladies Man Black Raven has never gone on a date before? Is it true!?" she asked with a gasp, unable to hide a smile that could be seen behind her hand. So distracted by this thought, the girl actually forgot to tell him whether or not she was interested in going on a date date with him.

"The Ties That Bind"

The Story So Far

With Lucifer Morningstar revealed to be another Traitor, it seemed that the group was making more and more progress, though at the cost of a few more lives when the Nemesis monster appeared again, claiming Daizo, Nashetania, and Charlotte. Upon managing to reach the next level, the group were met with yet another crossroads, separated by two places labeled "Power" and "Testing," and decided to split up again, hoping that by covering more ground, they would be able to find a cure for the T-Virus that they had been afflicted with faster.

Those who had traversed to the "Power" location encountered Annette Birkin, one of the top scientists of Umbrella that was present back when the group had been first transported to the world in order to fight off S.H.I.E.L.D. for them, while those in the "Testing" location encountered Annette's husband, William, both of them revealing their motives to be fueled by their deceased daughter Sherry, hoping to use the power of the Tesseract to find a reality in which they would be able to reunite with her. As Annette directed the Power group into a lab if they hoped to create a cure after an interrogation, William caught wind of the trap she intended to pull, making his escape from the group and making it known to the Testing group of his next plan, prompting the two groups to reunite in the labs.

However, instead of William, the group had ended up stumbling upon another sight; the corpses of Senna and Blake Dormi, forcing them to conduct a small investigation before they were able to move on, eventually concluding that the final Traitor was none other than Clark Kent. Upon being checked out by Wanda, it had turned out their fears were true, and that Clark was the final unwitting Traitor.

Immediately following the realization, William finally made himself known to the group, having infected himself with a virus that mutated his body to monstrous lengths. With newfound abilities in his beastly appearance, he managed to kill off Jaffar, Kazuo Tengan, Miku Hatsune, and Fierce-Heart Ali, with Annette being fatally caught in the crossfire as well, before eventually falling to the efforts of the group.

Pushed back, weakened, shot, stabbed, and distorted with arcane magic-- even in William's mutated form, he was no match for the warriors he had helped kidnap across dimensions. Perhaps he had known that from the start, having nothing left in him but to throw himself in the line of fire much like his wife had. Both husband and wife knew their deaths were inevitable anyway, and they could see the end fast approaching no matter who won this conflict.

As William's mutilated body ceased moving, Wanda staggered away from Clark. "It's finished," she said between heavy breaths. "I think. He should be free now... I can only hope."

"Then we need to go now," Claire said, rubbing at tired eyes. "This has to end. No one else is going to die."

She led the group to the elevator at the back of the laboratory. Claire relayed that, judging by her intel, this one was connected to the main floor, where the vault containing the Tesseract would be found. That their goal was about to be reached didn't mean their hardships were over, but as the group climbed into the elevator, they could be content in knowing that they were the survivors. This deadly game would soon be over.

In the tense moments of time that followed his question to Ada, Wesker paced back and forth in front of the desk casually, never looking away from her. Scott's grip on her only intensified as the silence went on, but soon enough Wesker was waving the man off. Scott released Ada and stepped away from the desk.

"So you don't know," Wesker said, not sounding suspicious of her answer. "I figured not, but I just had to make sure. You see, Miss Wong, I will let you in on a little secret, one that you'll find no doubt intriguing." Crossing his arms, he stood close enough to the desk so that he was looking down on Ada. "You were given a new body for a reason. All of you were. You're important to me, and so you should know that your health is in my best interest. That's why I have a gift or you."

Wesker reached into an inner pocket of his jacket and pulled out a metallic object. He reached out at a supreme speed and grabbed Ada's arm so that he could place the device directly into her hand. It had an obtrusion on the top that looked a bit like an antenna. "Keep it on you, and it will block anyone trying to communicate with the chips. Umbrella will have no control over you." Wesker looked rather pleased with himself.

"Now go. Go to the others. Their fight should be ending very soon..." He nodded to Scott. "He will escort you, as a sign of trust, Miss Wong."

It didn't seem Ada had a choice in the matter. Scott began to move and Ada was expected to follow.

As the fight with Ultron raged on, the implants in Alice's head put her in enough pain to cripple her for the duration. No one's hearts were in the fight, but even so, it seemed Captain America and Thor would thusly be defeated. However, Azura's clever move of dousing Ultron in water gave Thor an opportunity he would not have had otherwise.

"Now, do it!" Steve screamed, getting down and covering himself with his shield. Thor nodded and raised his hammer into the air, drawing lightning from outside the broken front entrance to converge around him. It exploded outward, coursing through the water to trap Ultron in a position where he would be unable to block the electrical current. The big robot roared as he was enveloped, parts of his body sparking and breaking off the whole. Soon he had collapsed, shutting down for now.

"A cheap imitation!" Thor yelled.

Steve moved to check on Iron Man, still obscured by the heavy metal that had flattened him. "Tony--"

"You will stop right there," said a voice, and everyone turned to find it was Albert Wesker... except, he was in his white lab coat once again. In his hands was some kind of device with a button on it. He pointed to Alice, who was now free of the pain. "Do you see what we can do to them? We recreated that robot, but you took quick care of that, as expected. Now that there is no threat to you, it is in your best interest to back down. Your friend is dead, and if you take one step toward us, so will all these people. You wouldn't want that, would you?"

Steve exchanged a nervous glance with Thor. Both seemed against willfully causing more death now that they were safe. "This is pathetic," Cullen said to Albert, but the man ignored him.

"What do you say?"

Steve had no choice but to start backing out of the building. "We'll report back to SHIELD. They'll know what to do." With that, the pair left, leaving the group alone with Albert.

"I may not know what purpose he had for you, but you'll be good as hostages for now. Now come with me where I'll--"

"I'm done." Cullen began to step toward Albert, hate in his eyes and fingers clasped around his ring. "I'll take off this if I have to, so do your worst."

Albert pressed down on the button of his device and pointed it at Cullen, but it didn't seem to do anything at all. He pressed it a few more times, incredulous, not noticing as Scott Lang approached him from behind and slammed his head down on the lobby desk. Ada was behind him, and she would have known then that Wesker hadn't been lying about the device he had given her. If that was the same Wesker as the one that had just been knocked out, it was unclear.

"Go," said Scott, staring weirdly straight ahead and emotionlessly. It was all the permission the group needed.

Mom Lalonde rejoined Blake and Senna after a moment, looking apologetic. "I'm very sorry, you two, but it's time to go. I have received word your group has reached this floor, and they will need to know what vault has the Tesseract right away. Here--" The woman handed Blake a slip of paper, detailing the location of the correct vault. "I will radio the others and hopefully they are safe to join you."

Lalonde then turned, staggering slightly as she walked toward a desk to the side of the medical room. She pulled out one of the drawers of the desk, grabbing herself a bottle of some kind of alcohol. She collapsed into a nearby chair after taking a sip and sighed. "I can't go with you. I don't know what will happen either way, dears, but Umbrella said they would find my daughter. As hollow as their promise was, I have... no choice in this matter."

The woman waved the two off and proceeded to sit in silence.

Cullen moved with the others as they headed back toward the medical room as no other destination seemed to be a good idea. They faced no resistance along the way, and the reason seemed clear once they encountered a number of Umbrella security guards passed out or dead in the hallways. As they stared at the sight, a growling could be heard echoing from down the hall. Looking at the source, the group found a monstrous mutant staring back at them.

"It's that... thing!" Cullen exclaimed, aghast. He readied for some kind of fight, but the situation became muddled by the appearance of Jack Krauser, who stepped up beside Nemesis like it was no big deal.

"You are no longer his target, so run along now."

Cullen stared back at him, unsure if his words should be heeded, but when the group's radios crackled with Lalonde's voice, Cullen raised it to his ear. "Everyone, if you're still alive, it's time. Do whatever you can to get to the elevator and meet up with the others. If this is the last time you hear my voice, know that I am truly sorry for my hand in this. Good luck, and may you all succeed in getting home."

"Looks like we have no choice," Cullen muttered, turning his back on Krauser and the mutant. It was time for everyone to reunite.

The elevator reached its destination with a heavy shake. Claire raised her gun in case Umbrella goons were waiting for them, but surprisingly none were there. They stepped out into an empty hall, the silence from all sides making it an eerie experience. Whatever the reason, it didn't mean time could be wasted. All that was left to do was figure out where on this floor the vault was.

It may have seemed a daunting task, but a few familiar faces were coming to meet them...

Cullen gave the group a small wave. "So, not dead anymore. Not all of us came back. Long story. We have the vault location and all that, so... great?"

And just in time too, for Senna and Blake would be arriving about then as well.

"Go," said Scott, staring weirdly straight ahead and emotionlessly. It was all the permission the group needed.

Mom Lalonde rejoined Blake and Senna after a moment, looking apologetic. "I'm very sorry, you two, but it's time to go. I have received word your group has reached this floor, and they will need to know what vault has the Tesseract right away. Here--" The woman handed Blake a slip of paper, detailing the location of the correct vault. "I will radio the others and hopefully they are safe to join you."

Lalonde then turned, staggering slightly as she walked toward a desk to the side of the medical room. She pulled out one of the drawers of the desk, grabbing herself a bottle of some kind of alcohol. She collapsed into a nearby chair after taking a sip and sighed. "I can't go with you. I don't know what will happen either way, dears, but Umbrella said they would find my daughter. As hollow as their promise was, I have... no choice in this matter."

The woman waved the two off and proceeded to sit in silence.

Cullen moved with the others as they headed back toward the medical room as no other destination seemed to be a good idea. They faced no resistance along the way, and the reason seemed clear once they encountered a number of Umbrella security guards passed out or dead in the hallways. As they stared at the sight, a growling could be heard echoing from down the hall. Looking at the source, the group found a monstrous mutant staring back at them.

"It's that... thing!" Cullen exclaimed, aghast. He readied for some kind of fight, but the situation became muddled by the appearance of Jack Krauser, who stepped up beside Nemesis like it was no big deal.

"You are no longer his target, so run along now."

Cullen stared back at him, unsure if his words should be heeded, but when the group's radios crackled with Lalonde's voice, Cullen raised it to his ear. "Everyone, if you're still alive, it's time. Do whatever you can to get to the elevator and meet up with the others. If this is the last time you hear my voice, know that I am truly sorry for my hand in this. Good luck, and may you all succeed in getting home."

"Looks like we have no choice," Cullen muttered, turning his back on Krauser and the mutant. It was time for everyone to reunite.

The elevator reached its destination with a heavy shake. Claire raised her gun in case Umbrella goons were waiting for them, but surprisingly none were there. They stepped out into an empty hall, the silence from all sides making it an eerie experience. Whatever the reason, it didn't mean time could be wasted. All that was left to do was figure out where on this floor the vault was.

It may have seemed a daunting task, but a few familiar faces were coming to meet them...

Cullen gave the group a small wave. "So, not dead anymore. Not all of us came back. Long story. We have the vault location and all that, so... great?"

And just in time too, for Senna and Blake would be arriving about then as well.

Just as Blake would explain to Senna what he meant by that statement, it came to their attention from Lalonde that it was time to head out. Somewhat saving him from an embarrassing moment there.

"Right. We'll be sure to relay this info over. No problem."

Giving a gesture over to Lalonde, Blake led himself and Senna out of the room so they could meet up with the main group. Who knew that dying and then seeing people again while being alive after death was possible?

"Well, this is a huge relief. Guess I'm not permanently dying young? Anyways, before me and Senna went out to find you guys, I got this from some lady, it's supposed to show us where the Tessaract is... So let's see where the treasure lies, shall we?"

Now that they were regrouped with the others, Blake didn't waste a moment to read on the details on the correct vault that was on the paper he had.

"The Ties That Bind"

The Story So Far

With Lucifer Morningstar revealed to be another Traitor, it seemed that the group was making more and more progress, though at the cost of a few more lives when the Nemesis monster appeared again, claiming Daizo, Nashetania, and Charlotte. Upon managing to reach the next level, the group were met with yet another crossroads, separated by two places labeled "Power" and "Testing," and decided to split up again, hoping that by covering more ground, they would be able to find a cure for the T-Virus that they had been afflicted with faster.

Those who had traversed to the "Power" location encountered Annette Birkin, one of the top scientists of Umbrella that was present back when the group had been first transported to the world in order to fight off S.H.I.E.L.D. for them, while those in the "Testing" location encountered Annette's husband, William, both of them revealing their motives to be fueled by their deceased daughter Sherry, hoping to use the power of the Tesseract to find a reality in which they would be able to reunite with her. As Annette directed the Power group into a lab if they hoped to create a cure after an interrogation, William caught wind of the trap she intended to pull, making his escape from the group and making it known to the Testing group of his next plan, prompting the two groups to reunite in the labs.

However, instead of William, the group had ended up stumbling upon another sight; the corpses of Senna and Blake Dormi, forcing them to conduct a small investigation before they were able to move on, eventually concluding that the final Traitor was none other than Clark Kent. Upon being checked out by Wanda, it had turned out their fears were true, and that Clark was the final unwitting Traitor.

Immediately following the realization, William finally made himself known to the group, having infected himself with a virus that mutated his body to monstrous lengths. With newfound abilities in his beastly appearance, he managed to kill off Jaffar, Kazuo Tengan, Miku Hatsune, and Fierce-Heart Ali, with Annette being fatally caught in the crossfire as well, before eventually falling to the efforts of the group.

Pushed back, weakened, shot, stabbed, and distorted with arcane magic-- even in William's mutated form, he was no match for the warriors he had helped kidnap across dimensions. Perhaps he had known that from the start, having nothing left in him but to throw himself in the line of fire much like his wife had. Both husband and wife knew their deaths were inevitable anyway, and they could see the end fast approaching no matter who won this conflict.

As William's mutilated body ceased moving, Wanda staggered away from Clark. "It's finished," she said between heavy breaths. "I think. He should be free now... I can only hope."

"Then we need to go now," Claire said, rubbing at tired eyes. "This has to end. No one else is going to die."

She led the group to the elevator at the back of the laboratory. Claire relayed that, judging by her intel, this one was connected to the main floor, where the vault containing the Tesseract would be found. That their goal was about to be reached didn't mean their hardships were over, but as the group climbed into the elevator, they could be content in knowing that they were the survivors. This deadly game would soon be over.

"Well, well," Cagliostro erects a stone throne as a form of victory pose, sitting on it and mocking Birkin's demise, "it's natural that we won, but at what cost? Oh, I'll cover that, I'll cover that pretty well."

The stone throne merges back into the ground as she joins the others in the elevator.

Looking back, she tosses a small flame at the mutiliated mutant Birkin, hoping to incinerate its remains beyond belief as a goodbye gift.

Meanwhile, in the elevator, Cagliostro's emotions shifted once again, towards Clark Kent.

"Clark Kent," Cagliostro exclaims in an angry tone, "their blood, their metal and their guts are on you. Back in that room, I had the chance to end that man, or at least tie him up, dump him in some room and call it a day. In your little plebeian terms - I could've taken that man out of the picture, one way or another, but your sense of mercy halted my tracks, and... well..."

Cagliostro pointed to the remains of the man, and the remains of the four who have perished - circuitry, plastic, metal and gore all over before the elevator door closes. Cagliostro's frown turned upside down as she begins to taunt Clark Kent.

"You spared the fiend Birkin from my wrath, and in turn, he showed us no mercy, cutting our numbers down. Do you feel proud of yourself, Clark Kent? Do you feel proud that you were indirectly the cause of the death of four innocents, discounting your sins as a mind-controlled slave to the forces beyond?"

Cagliostro's frown returned while a light green glow could be seen emerging from the crevices of her clenched fist. Clark Kent would weaken and feel a sharp pain. He would know this sensation, as well as this familiar glow of green. A single tear could be seen flowing down one of Cagliostro's eyes.

"If it was Road, Alucard or Hakuei who had been slain by that fiend, I can certainly say that I would've come for your throat without a second thought. And I am fully capable of doing that."

This glow of green emerging from her hands would gradually disappear and Clark Kent would gradually gain his strength back, his pain vanishing bit by bit.

Upon seeing Jabbers, Cagliostro picks the little dog-like being up like a human would pick a dog up - by the arms.

"Upsy daisy~ teehee~ This big sister here was just starting to miss your little face, you know~"

In the tense moments of time that followed his question to Ada, Wesker paced back and forth in front of the desk casually, never looking away from her. Scott's grip on her only intensified as the silence went on, but soon enough Wesker was waving the man off. Scott released Ada and stepped away from the desk.

"So you don't know," Wesker said, not sounding suspicious of her answer. "I figured not, but I just had to make sure. You see, Miss Wong, I will let you in on a little secret, one that you'll find no doubt intriguing." Crossing his arms, he stood close enough to the desk so that he was looking down on Ada. "You were given a new body for a reason. All of you were. You're important to me, and so you should know that your health is in my best interest. That's why I have a gift or you."

Wesker reached into an inner pocket of his jacket and pulled out a metallic object. He reached out at a supreme speed and grabbed Ada's arm so that he could place the device directly into her hand. It had an obtrusion on the top that looked a bit like an antenna. "Keep it on you, and it will block anyone trying to communicate with the chips. Umbrella will have no control over you." Wesker looked rather pleased with himself.

"Now go. Go to the others. Their fight should be ending very soon..." He nodded to Scott. "He will escort you, as a sign of trust, Miss Wong."

It didn't seem Ada had a choice in the matter. Scott began to move and Ada was expected to follow.

As the fight with Ultron raged on, the implants in Alice's head put her in enough pain to cripple her for the duration. No one's hearts were in the fight, but even so, it seemed Captain America and Thor would thusly be defeated. However, Azura's clever move of dousing Ultron in water gave Thor an opportunity he would not have had otherwise.

"Now, do it!" Steve screamed, getting down and covering himself with his shield. Thor nodded and raised his hammer into the air, drawing lightning from outside the broken front entrance to converge around him. It exploded outward, coursing through the water to trap Ultron in a position where he would be unable to block the electrical current. The big robot roared as he was enveloped, parts of his body sparking and breaking off the whole. Soon he had collapsed, shutting down for now.

"A cheap imitation!" Thor yelled.

Steve moved to check on Iron Man, still obscured by the heavy metal that had flattened him. "Tony--"

"You will stop right there," said a voice, and everyone turned to find it was Albert Wesker... except, he was in his white lab coat once again. In his hands was some kind of device with a button on it. He pointed to Alice, who was now free of the pain. "Do you see what we can do to them? We recreated that robot, but you took quick care of that, as expected. Now that there is no threat to you, it is in your best interest to back down. Your friend is dead, and if you take one step toward us, so will all these people. You wouldn't want that, would you?"

Steve exchanged a nervous glance with Thor. Both seemed against willfully causing more death now that they were safe. "This is pathetic," Cullen said to Albert, but the man ignored him.

"What do you say?"

Steve had no choice but to start backing out of the building. "We'll report back to SHIELD. They'll know what to do." With that, the pair left, leaving the group alone with Albert.

"I may not know what purpose he had for you, but you'll be good as hostages for now. Now come with me where I'll--"

"I'm done." Cullen began to step toward Albert, hate in his eyes and fingers clasped around his ring. "I'll take off this if I have to, so do your worst."

Albert pressed down on the button of his device and pointed it at Cullen, but it didn't seem to do anything at all. He pressed it a few more times, incredulous, not noticing as Scott Lang approached him from behind and slammed his head down on the lobby desk. Ada was behind him, and she would have known then that Wesker hadn't been lying about the device he had given her. If that was the same Wesker as the one that had just been knocked out, it was unclear.

Cagliostro pointed to the remains of the man, and the remains of the four who have perished - circuitry, plastic, metal and gore all over. Cagliostro's frown turned upside down as she begins to taunt Clark Kent.

"You spared the fiend Birkin from my wrath, and in turn, he showed us no mercy, cutting our numbers down. Do you feel proud of yourself, Clark Kent? Do you feel proud that you were indirectly the cause of the death of four innocents, discounting your sins as a mind-controlled slave to the forces beyond?"

Cagliostro's frown returned while a light green glow could be seen emerging from the crevices of her clenched fist. Clark Kent would weaken and feel a sharp pain. He would know this sensation, as well as this familiar glow of green. A single tear could be seen flowing down one of Cagliostro's eyes.

"If it was Road, Alucard or Hakuei who had been slain by that fiend, I can certainly say that I would've come for your throat without a second thought. And I am fully capable of doing that."

This glow of green emerging from her hands would gradually disappear and Clark Kent would gradually gain his strength back, his pain vanishing bit by bit.

Upon seeing Jabbers, Cagliostro picks the little dog-like being up like a human would pick a dog up - by the arms.
