Hadley watched as Heru scrolled through his Phone in search of a phone number. A cop's phone number from what she could gather from the conversation. Coldly, he turned his attention to her as he handed her an old book. He explained that she would be a lost cause if she didn't believe in angels. He then told her that her necklace was a mood necklace. Instantly, an image of an old mood ring from the 70 ' s came to her mind. There's no way this is a simple mood necklace. A mood necklace couldn't impose it's will on me like this.... she thought to herself, and thought against making a rebuttal.
Heru put some headphones on and instructed them to go. Hadley stayed behind a few moments to flip through the book. She saw a number of lovely images of glorious beings she could only assume we're angels. Suddenly, the books pages stopped flipping and opened to a single page. The image was magnificent. She had never seen anything like it before. Choosing not to mention it to her new allies as they might rip into her again, she hurried after them in silence.
As they walked through the hallway she felt her necklace heat up again. Looking down she could see a dim reddish light shining from under her shirt. Slowly, she looked over her shoulder but saw nothing but the shadows in the corners and crevices. Alas, she brushed it off and caught up with Gil and Heru. Shortly, they were outside the monastery and headed into the crowd.
Well as far as investigating goes... I think I've done a good job. She thought as the last image in the book burned in her mind's eye.
