Hm. You know, I feel like Ansell wouldn't be all too impressed with Penny? Like, he wouldn't hate her or anything, he just wouldn't try too hard to get close to someone who obviously doesn't want someone close to them. Jack, he could handle. He's handled Marvin for years, after all :D

Uh oh...sounds like a challenge
Jeeze and he hasn't even slept with Callum yet x'D take your time Ansell and Jaime, there's a line x'D

Full Name: Samuel Josiah Greer.

Nickname: Sam.

Alter Ego: Golden Boy.

Age: 22, July 7th.

Gender: Trans man.

Enrolled: No, lives in the city.

Relationship status: Single and gay since forever.

Appearance: With his hands full of cards and a plan in mind, it doesn't take much for Samuel to get one caught up in his distractions. With a dazzling smile, Samuel's handsome face lures people in like moths to a flame, and it's no secret that he knows he looks good. Half Scottish and Dominican, Samuel has an intensely freckled cocoa complexion, most predominately over his shoulders and neck, his face not left out of the endearing flecks. Samuel gets his striking features from his mother, his lips as full as hers, eyes just as dark. His hair, however, is a blend of both parents; a short-cut, but incredibly voluminous shock of - naturally black - golden curls. Samuel sports something like a mohawk, the sides of his head shaved, his curls falling over anyway.

A naturally lean, tall person, Samuel
keeps himself in fighting trim, his practice on his boxing helping him tone his body into something a little huskier than guys his size, but he doesn't mind a few extra pounds behind his punches. Samuel has a healthy appetite, and he doesn't see anything wrong with packing it on a few months out of the year.

Fingers bandaged up from paper cuts and missed shots at a crook's face, Samuel's fingers are as nimble as ever when he plays with his cards, the occasional splint be damned. Samuel dresses comfortably in the city climate, seen sporting shorts and tees since Spring is on it's way.

Personality: Samuel is the classic gentlemen. Polite, charming, and ever the passionate one. Well traveled and very up to date on his literature, Samuel will rope you in with a quote and steal hours of your time if you'll let him. He's awfully bashful about his hobbies, breaking out into a glowing flush when he catches himself on another rant.

Endearing to no end, Samuel is a clever one, and
you'll never notice the cash leaving your pocket until he's long gone.

Samuel is a con. A classic, thieving con. He's been ripping off people for as long as he can remember, still plays his games with the same deck of cards he got from his grandfather, who claims taught him everything he knows. Tough to the point of being abrasive, Samuel is somewhat insensitive and careless with his words.

Gambling runs in his blood, and there's nothing that gets his heart pumping faster than the flutter of cards in the shuffler's hands, the tumble of dice, and the threats thrown at him under an oil tycoon's breath. In the game of deception and skill, Samuel's truly in his element.

Yet, there's something about putting on his suit at night, and diving out into the city that fills a place in his chest. To be some kind of hero, a guy people are starting to look up to, for a lucky chance at seeing him on the go. It feels nice, and it feels right, and it's all so alien to him.

And still, he seeks it out.

Powers and Abilities: Due to the passive, subconscious function of his mutant ability, Samuel has no physical or mental abilities beyond that of an ordinary human. Samuel has been extensively trained in boxing by his grandfather, being fast on his feet and quick with a powerful right hook.

Well versed in street magic, Samuel proves himself to be a talented player and quite the trickster with cards.

Fortune: Recognized as a form of probability manipulation, Samuel's mutant power manifests as an ever-present field of luck, granting him incredibly chances in all that he does. Samuel's power is always activated, and even continues to work if he's asleep or unconscious.

Strengths: Undeniably, Samuel's greatest quality would have to be his luck. From winning a few spare bucks from a random lottery ticket to stumbling upon the den of a fearsome crime boss, Samuel's debut as Golden Boy has him captured in the public eye.

His crime fighting has only begun fairly recently, and despite all odds, Samuel has helped put away several of the city's human criminals.

Weaknesses: Samuel's greatest strength also acts as his greatest weakness. Samuel's luck only influences chances for him, and will always guide him in the best and otherwise most successful path. However, Samuel's fortune comes at the cost of misfortune to his surroundings and people. Samuel's effect on probability comes in the form of taking luck, increasing his chances while others' suffer from bad luck abound. This use of his power isn't malicious or even intentional, Samuel's luck persists at the discord of his allies.

Bio: What's known about Samuel's past has been made impossible to figure out from his constant dodging of questions. Lies, half-truths and outright absurdity makes up what he lets people in on. Depending on what story he's going with, he could be a poker dealer who's come to New York to pursue an acting career, on the other hand, he could be a starving artist with a penchant for instrumental music. Whatever might be the truth, Samuel doesn't want anyone to know.

But there's no lying to himself.

Samuel was born to a big family, close-knit and always moving around. Cousins that went across the country, uncles who flew to islands, aunts and nephews off to Canada for yearly visits to extended family. Samuel was the only child to his parents, the breadwinners to the household and forever doting on Samuel. Since he was young, Samuel's talents shined, putting together shows and magic acts for his parents when they came home from work. His first guitar was made from an old box, and he might still have it around. Samuel is tight-lipped on speaking about his parents, but he seems to have a very deep bond with his grandfather.

To this day, Samuel wears the gold chain his grandfather gave to him, and prying any information about him is like pulling teeth. Perhaps one of his rare moments of honesty, but Samuel claims it's his prized possession.

Samuel has lived in the city for years, and has since discovered his powers and the nature of them due to a few friends he's made. Inspired to do good for once, Samuel has taken up the mantle of Golden Boy, a plucky do-gooder who knocks out robbers and returns purses.

Anything else: Samuel is self-taught on several instruments, such as the guitar, trombone, flute, and drums. He expresses an interest in music, and while he hasn't done much lyric wise, seems to be a fairly good composer on the fly.

Samuel has five cats.

I get subtle Gambit vibes at first but his powerset is more akin to Domino. Accepted :) not sure if the teachers will be cool with him sneaking cats on campus buttttt ... ;) I'm sure they won't mind, who doesn't love cats!!!

WELCOME ABOARD SAMUEL

If no PC's jump in, take Callum lol x'D (halfway tempted to make a full CS for him but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
If you're stuck, Ms Thorn could step in!

Oh, no! I was making a joke lol. Ansell's with Tiffany and Octavia rn.

Also, I just thought of something

Ansell's power lets him link with mutants to use their powers, and if he links with two he gets a fused power

BUT

What if he learned how to do it to other people??? Like, linking two mutants and letting them use their fused power instead of their regular, lone one

God could you imagine the chaos of that

Hmm, this has got me thinking...

Linking two mutants could change their power, causing traits from one's mutants powers to be included in the other and vice versa. For example, if, say, @Justin 's Eva and @Gands 's Jaime were linked, Eva would get similar physical abilities, or even have the strength of her fire greatly amplified by rage. Jaime, on the other hand, might get heat-based powers of his own, maybe not fire(because of his fear) but maybe generating intense heat? Not sure.

@CaptainObvious thoughts???

Ohhh I thought he was headed to the danger room, no problemo so!!!

I don't think he should get that ability anytime soon. Penny's power works on others (but not herself) and Ansell would be leaning toward a little too OP if he could manipulate other mutants as well as copying them for himself. It's just a bit early for that.

Lucky Break

Surprisingly, this combination doesn't grant any additional effects to speed, however it impart the uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time. It also gives the speedster a greater sense of where to go, quite literally putting them on the right path.

Jaime/Samuel

Faultline

A walking disaster, one with this are a bull in a china shop metaphor come to life. Backed by strength that's more cumbersome than useful, the part that makes this power special is the sense for flaws the user is granted. Their clumsy strength finds the weaknesses in structures with little effort. This knack for finding weak points is blunt, but very useful.

Marvin/Samuel

Calamity

Another element with the touch of chaos, this ability manifests in the form of extreme weather, the various forms of it turning destructive in intensity. One cannot wield this ability with any amount of gentleness or tact, but instead is limited to acts of sheer force. Wild by creation, once weather phenomena has been made, it's incredibly difficult to stop.

Octavia/Samuel

Grace

Quite possibly the most passive ability there is, one with this enjoys being a living good luck charm. Fortune favors them at all times, and thanks to its sonokinetic component, can pass their luck onto those around them through sound. Blessings rolling off the tongue, it takes nothing more than a spirited "good luck" to impart allies with good fortune. While any noise acts at the medium for their luck, it appears that singing works just fine.

Octavia/Samuel

Clamor

The active counterpart to Grace, this ability incorporates vibrations over sound, offering a different usage of luck. In this case, it's bad luck. The polar opposite of Grace, one with this is afflicted with misfortune, their words leaving their mouth as curses to whoever hears. The vibrations one can generate can destabilize structures and cause tremors.
