A rather important NPC.
Name: Adriano Wilson
Alias: Dr.Wilson
Age: 46
Personality: Adriano is very reserved. Very curt. He was once a very likeable and social man, with a personality that made him hard not to like. With one smile he could cheer up almost anyone, stranger or friend. This all changed when he had his first daughter. After that, all there was left was the wrinkles of the laugh lines on his face. He seems almost emotionless as he speaks, almost utterly bored. Every now and then, he will put on a façade and use his charm and old charismatic personality to get his way. Persuasion is his forte. He's sly and conniving at times and can be perceived as rude as well. His honesty being brutal. Only until recently, he has taken a liking to his younger daughter, or more of an understanding point of view. He dislikes the Empowered but will tolerate those who his daughter calls 'friends'.
Appearance: Adriano stands at 6'2" with dark hair that is fading to gray and white. His eyes are a pale blue, almost like Maribeth's and he has a lean build. Through the many years of studies and testing and lab experiments; and most recently from the fleeing of the US and being on the run overseas, he has dark circles under his eyes from the lack of sleep. He also has a scar on the upper right part of his back that trails down for about four inches. It's unknown where he got it from.
Weaknesses and limitations: His daughters and his wife are his weakness.
Abilities: Extremely intelligent and has an almost endless amount of knowledge on nearly everything. Trained in combat and in weapons handling.
History: Born in Volterra, Italy, Adriano was given up for adoption immediately after birth due to the fact that his parents couldn't afford to raise a child. He was raised in a local orphanage up until the age of two, and moved to Florence, Italy; due to the small orphanage being overcrowded. There, he went to school and stayed without a family until he was nearly seven. In his time in the orphanage, he saw many things one could not speak of in the open because the people would have sworn he was crazy and unstable. The Empowered have always been around, but have found ways of keeping their supernatural ways concealed from the human eye.
Fortunately and unfortunately, he was adopted and taken away from such things, and raised in a household with two other brothers and a mom and dad (The Wilson's) in the United States. He swore to himself from a young age that he'd never speak of such things and he'd forget about them. And so he did, or at least, pushed them so far back into his mind that they were all but nearly forgotten.
Living an ordinary life, Adriano excelled in all of his classes and continued his education in a University in Washington, taking classes at night and working as a police officer during the day. This is where he met his wife, Juliette, working as a detention officer. The two were married almost within the year, and had a baby on the way within the next few months. Although he worked full time and still went to school at night, the couple seemed to be sticking together through thick and thin. Their first daughter, Athena, was born and for almost a year, everything seemed to be going well. That was until, as if it were a coincidence, Juliette was pregnant again, and strange things began to happen.
Whenever Athena would cry at times, they'd hear something else. A familiar sound to either one of them. They'd go to the baby to see whoever it was making that sound and all they would see was Athena wailing in her crib. Even when she didn't cry, but squeal or scream of joy, they'd hear the voice of a loved one. Knowing they weren't going crazy, since they would
both hear it, they promised to keep quiet about whatever was going on and let nature take it's toll. Of course, Adriano knew what was going on, and secretly, so did Juliette. She was an Empowered too, but kept that secret nice and hidden.
Being at the top of his class, and having graduated early from high school, Adriano graduated from college with his Masters at the age of 24 and picked up a job at a large oil company as a scientist while he continued his schooling for his doctorates. Of course, now he slowed it down with the courses. By now, Athena was now 3 and Maribeth was 2. Things were seemingly normal with Mari, but with Athena, on the other hand, things were getting worse. Not only would they hear the voice of a loved one, but when they'd go check on the girls, whoever heard the voice of the loved one, would also see them for a brief moment before the vision disappeared and showed Athena sitting or standing there. She didn't know how to turn it off, and began driving her father slowly to madness. The person he'd see the most when Athena would 'betwitch' them, would be his adoptive mother, who had died of a heart attack while he was in college. He hated seeing his mother and it would break his heart into millions of pieces. He wanted a cure for his daughter's "illness" and he swore to find one. Juliette protested but it was all in vain. Adriano threw himself into research and began to lose the little sleep he had in order to find the answer. At that moment, there had been rumors about others. Others like Athena. In those rumors, it was heard that they would begin to collect the supernatural kids and put them in concentration camps. Adriano didn't believe it. Not until he was offered a job by a major Lab and began working under the eye of Senator Tyren.
Once he found out the true nature of the plans, he decided on hiding his daughter. If anyone was going to find a cure for her, it would be him. Unfortunately, when he arrived home one day, Juliette and Athena were gone. A note left on the table read,
"Since all you wanted was a normal daughter, now you have one. I'm sorry." As he finished reading the note, a small cry rang out through the house. Juliette had left Maribeth to Adriano to care for. Little did he know that she would prove more dangerous than Athena.
Days later they found the car that Juliette had taken with Athena. It was completely destroyed on the side of a cliff by the crashing waves of dark waters. The bodies were not found and it was assumed that they had fallen into the depths. Broken hearted, Adriano had a closed casket ceremony for them and buried them in a near by cemetery.
Only until recently, he learned that his wife and daughter had not died in the horrible car crash. It was staged. All a lie to hide them from being captured.
Other: He's fluent in Italian, Spanish, English, French, German, and Urdu as well as Farsi. When speaking English, he has a light Italian accent.
