what roles are open and..how do they pertain to the story? Like..I think if I'm reading this right James is open but..what is his role? What's the point of him being in it?

James is a friend to Jaqen and helps heal one of the girls and goes on the journey with them after the girls are rested
anyou of the npc can also be played as a side character

but like..what is he though? Is he human? Is he some kind of priest? Is he a mage/wizard? Or..is that up to me?

also on an unrelated note whatever happened to that other rp..the one with the assassins or whatever it was going to be.
