Name: Dionysus (but he prefers Dio)
Age: 19
Gender: male
Species: Selkie
Physical Description: Dio's 5'6 in hight and very slender in build, though he's not sickly underweight ether. His body isn't overly muscular though it is toned. He's quite pale with a dash of freckles that run across his shoulder blades and collar bone, they stand out on his pale skin. He also has a strange symbol that looks a little bit like the ace of spades cut into his stomach, and a strange burn mark on his shoulder. His body is also scarred, mainly on his lower back and hips. His body shape is curvy. His face is androgynous, and it's vary hard to tell if he's male or female unless you're up close. His features are somewhat soft, though I think that to say Dio would be handsome is to have an..acquired taste.. Though it's hard to notice because he's smirking condescendingly more often then not. His eyes are multicoloured, his left eye's green and his right eye's blue..though his eyes flash a strange yellowy orange when he's getting ready to cast a spell. His blonde hair is long, just past his shoulders and his fringe reaches past his cheek bones and stops at the tip of his nose. His hair is also very messy..like a bird's nest.
He has two different outfits, the one he wears more often then not. The outfit is black and the pants are cut rather low, he doesn't wear shoes and has a small open jacket garb. If one looks closely they can see where the outfit's being patched up.
The second outfit is Dio's best, it can only be described as something akin to a flamboyant ring master's outfit. It's a combination of red, white and black, complete with a top hat.
Personality: Dio's a manipulative backstabber, he's full of honeyed words and false promises. When he wants to be charming and slightly charismatic he will be, and if he really puts his mind to it he could talk his way out of nearly anything. He's a pathological liar, so most of the stuff he sprouts is almost certainly a lie. Unlike many liars, Dio never uses extravagant lies and always sticks to practical lies that at least sound plausible. He's also a very good actor and thrives upon drama, his actions reflect his theatrical nature. When he speaks he makes grand gestures with his hands, when he flirts he moves into theatrical poses. Because of the way he is, he doesn't make friends..not really, but it's his own choice in the matter. He sees friends as people that'll stand in his way, or at least he tells himself that. Though he'd never admit it, there are three people in his life who he secretly classes as friends.. but only one of them he'd give his life for, as a way of repayment.
Dio is a strong believer in 'paying his dues' if someone does something for him that he deems to be a selfless act and is actually grateful for, he'll stop at nothing in order to make sure they are repaired. While this may be seen as an act of rare kindness on Dio's part, he also doesn't like to owe people anything. He also hates losing or even admitting that he lost, as far as Dio is concerned it's the worst thing in the world to be a loser. He's fiercely competitive and will do whatever it takes to win, whatever the definition of win is at the time. There is nothing he won't stoop to, no measure he will not take. From cheating in a fight, to using black mail and intimidation Dio will go to any length in order to be the victor.
As stated Dio's a very good actor, a man of many faces. From accents to looks, Dio will change in accordance to his situation. He's not a genuine person most of the time, hiding behind a lie and farce in order to get what he wants. Identity means nothing to Dio, not any more. He's played numerous roles, wore so many masks.. that he's almost lost sight of who he really is, yet he doesn't care what's so ever.. or does he? Sometimes even Dio looks in the mirror and is saddened when he no longer can tell who gazes back at him.
Dio is very cunning and intelligent, he claims it's because he was raised by a kitsune mother who taught him all he knows. But that's just another lie. Many people don't realise how dangerous or intelligent he is, since Dio- much like Gladarniel- plays the fool. Dio always gives the impression that he's not that bright and more like a scrawny thug then anything else.
Dio is very confident-unless cornered and trapped- and headstrong. It would maybe be more apt to use the sentence 'confident to the point of arrogance'. He's loud and brash, often shouting people down if they disagree with him. Dio will never think he's wrong, nor will he think for even a second that any thing's ever his fault. He will naturally shift the blame to someone else, even if they're dead. He can't take criticism very well ether-unless it's from the man he serves- and would rather shout insults then try to confront his own flaws. But that's not to say he thinks he's perfect- because he doesn't- it just never crosses his mind that he's wrong about anything.
However there are times when he can be knocked off his high horse, times when he is made to taste the bitter sensation of failing and doing something wrong. The only time when Dio feels these things is if he's helpless or trapped, mentally or physically . During this time he'll have dramatic and server mood swings, ranging from blind and murderous rage that scares most people.. to suicidal depression and anxiety. And though it's rare, when Dio becomes depressed he totally gives up and doesn't bother fighting. Instead he just mutters half hearted curses.
Dio's a fighter most of the time, a fiery tempered one. Dio's temper is described as frightening once he really loses it, no one is safe from his screams of rage. It doesn't help that he likes fighting with others, because he always feels that he has something to prove. Something that can only be proved in fighting, what that is not even Dio knows but it makes him feel better. Dio's a hard person to break down, he's deliberately annoying and obnoxious. But once he's broken down he'll become as meek as a kitten to the one who breaks him, so far only one person has managed such a task.
Dio's very flexible, able to adapt quickly and improvise. He doesn't get fazed easily and though he may get angry, he still keeps his focus on whatever he needs to do. Though he's a pretty independent person who likes his space, he'll also work with others if need be. He's also a very fast learner, mainly where magic is concerned.
All in all Dio has a dramatic and tsundre (kinda hostile) personality, he's a person that cannot be trusted and is a trickster at heart. Dio can be spiteful and vindictive, stabbing someone one moment and shaking another person's hand the next. He has a very volatile and emotional personality, though it's more or less a dark kind of emotion. He's ambitious and confident, fiery and a fighter. But he can also be extremely depressed and worn down, his personality and mood swings between the extremes. He can be crude and rather promiscuous, with hints of frailty under his personality. To some he can be kind, but to most he's vindictive. Dio can be.. a very good friend and ally, or a fearsome foe and opponent.

Bio/History: Dio's past is something he doesn't like to talk about, unless he's drunk. Only a handful of people know it, and he'd sooner kill them then let them blab about it. The only thing that hints of his past is how edgy Dio get's when anyone asks him about his family, or rather his mother. Ether way Dio had a very unhappy childhood. A childhood that was utterly controlled by his mother.
Even as a child Dio displayed a ablity for magic, a talent for it. Maybe it's because he had very little contact with others that he quickly developed his ability, pushing himself more and more and listening to the magic speak to him. For as many hours as he could he practised, always fearful that he'd be found out by his mother or one of her lovers. Always fearful that they'd find out and give him the beating (at the very least) of his life. It's not like Dio could turn to his father ether, because he didn't even know who his father was, the man left before he was born and Dio may have resented him for that but could never blame him totally. He would have left to.
Things simply got worse as years went on, his mother turned to drink.. which made her even worse then normal, and her choice of boyfriends became much worse. Dio lived each day like a man in a nightmare, there but not quite there. At times he was beaten that badly that he couldn't get out of bed, which made his mother angrier. He was the one that earned money for the house in anyway he could, only to watch his mother drink it all away.
The only reason why he never ran away was because he felt duty bound to look after his younger brother, Thomas. Dio tried his best to make sure the younger boy had a good life, but he felt jealousy in his heart because his mother never even so much as raised her hand to her younger son.. yet Dio only needed to breathe wrong and he'd get beaten badly. Dio assumed that he was treated the way he was, because of the father that left.. whereas Thomas's father visited now and then and often took Thomas away on trips- without even giving Dio a second glance. Thomas would often tell Dio happily about it when he returned and Dio forced a smile, and hid behind it while he listened.
At the age of fifteen Dio had two secrets, one was the fact that he was getting pretty good with his magic.. and the other was that he'd discovered that he liked men, and his preference was males. He knew his mother wouldn't approve for various reasons, and he felt as though he was drowning. He wasn't sure what to do for the best and spiralled into depression, he could only see one way out.
He waited until his mother and Thomas were asleep, before unlocking his room with his magic and slowly edging out and raiding the cupboard. He eventually finds a full bottle of drink and sneaks out the shack that was his life, he headed to the pier which isn't far from the house and sat at the edge. His legs dangle over the edge as he takes a swing of the drink, feeling it burn his throat. After a few swings the bottle's empty and the world started to spin, the next thing Dio knows he's falling in the water.. feeling the air rush out of him and the darkness embrace him.
When he opens his eyes, he notices that he's still under the water. He tries to move his limbs, his arms but they feel strange. His legs also feel like they've being glued together, he wonders briefly if he's dead and tries to gaze at himself. That's when he caught sight of his tail, and freaked out.
It took him quite a while to come to terms that he was now a seal (he later learned he was a Selkie) and at first he swam around franticly for a cure, but as time passed he slowly began to relax and his human life started to fade away like an old song fading into the background. He then realised, he was home.
A year of peace and happiness was what Dio lived, a year where he actually had fun. He was free, he was a force of nature that could not be stopped. He was an alpha male, he was in control. But all that changed when he accidentally swam into a net, and was slowly and painfully pulled up by fisher men. As the air entered his lungs, he screamed as he felt his body growing heavier. He felt himself gasping for breath as he once again became painfully human.
He lay on the deck, gasping and twitching. Hearing the men talk but no longer understanding their words, his eyes darted around. Everything was to loud and to bright, everything was so heavy and painful. He blacked out, but before feeling a strange circlet placed around his right ankle.
Dio learned very quickly that the circlet stopped him from entering his seal form, and he was pissed off and tried to fight anyone that came near him. He also found out that the ship wasn't a fishing ship, but a slaver ship. It wasn't long before he was sold to a noble man in a far away land, which is something else Dio never mentions.
He eventually escaped, but now he had an objective. 'get the circlet off, be safe.' he found out that the circlet was an enchanted one, and for all his skill.. Dio himself could not remove it, and that agitated him. He needed to find someone who could remove it, but what he needed before hand was to find somewhere safe to stay. He vowed that he would never be used again, that he would never be weak. He would become a user, a taker, a winner. And he eventually found part of what he had looked for, a place to stay.. the Dark wizard guild. Dio offered himself to their judgement, and under went whatever tests they wanted to put him through.
It turns out Dio wasn't as good as he thought he was, though it was obvious he had a lot of potential (most noted in the magic of trickery, deception and illusion) he was still an untrained and unpolished wizard. In light of that, Dio was to ashamed to ask for help to get the circlet off him and instead made up the excuse that he came to learn magic and dedicate himself to guild- a claim that would later be partly true. When he was asked his name, he thought about it quickly. He didn't want to use his old name, a relic of a dead boy and buried past. So instead he said.
"Dionysus, call me Dio." and smirked a smirk that would later become his most noted feature.

- Dio loves top hats
- he has a huge one sided crush on Sepiroth
- his theme song is mischievous whispers from Soul Calibur V
- he still hasn't got the circlet off
