The Exposure

Ray saw danger in its crimson red eyes. He saw death. He thought of reasoning it down to tranquility, but at that exact moment, he knew it would not be effective. The water droplet took him back to a time when they were first developing the cells, and how one of the researches died in a mini explosion while trying to poke one of the cells. He knew it was dangerous and so, he ran a few feet away. The cats were done for. He could not do anything to help them.

"I have to stop this before it goes on a killing spree. This could turn into a massacre." Ray reached his hand inside his pocket and took out some sort of syringe. It was something he had developed right before leaving Bluecorp... a tranquilizer... a pain killer, if you will. Last one huh?

Sacrificing his last piece of pain reliever, Ray switched on his eyepatch, aiming the syringe at the creature. %Shooting mode activated.
Ray paused. He noticed the huge bruise that looked like a massive blight. The regeneration factor the creature displayed, amazed him.

%Target acquired.. neck area... accuracy 78%... accuracy 100%.He waited for the creature to fully regenerate, then shot the syringe like an overly powered dart at its neck.

"Someone is following. And yes, there is more walking." She paused and looked back at the girl with a grin, "Would you rather piggyback?" She jested. "Come on, it'll be worth it. Trust me."

Just as she finished speaking, a panicked voice came over a loud intercom announcing the arrival of what was probably not friendly company. "Great." She complained as she started walking, tapping her staff against the ground with every other step, using it as a walking stick of sorts.

"DIEDIEDIEDI--"

It's mind was racing, and it was unable to control itself having no human desires what so ever. By the time it finished regenerating, it had stopped in it's place. It recognized this feeling, the feeling of something being injected into it's body. It was far too familiar to this feeling, and it hated it. Although to it would instantly cause a human to pass out usually, it took a few moments from growing an immunity from the high amounts it was given every time it awoke in it's chamber. It looked at the male who shot it at it, and it wasn't sad nor disappointed. The look on it's face was sheer anger, before passing out. It laid motionless on the ground, and it was not dead. The tranquilizer would be effective for an hour or two, as it was weaker compared to what it was given whilst in Bluecorp.

In it's mind, everything went black. It was in that peaceful, endless dark abyss one would call sleep. It despised this place so much, as it was it's only known world that it was oh so familiar with. This black abyss was the only place where it could have peace, and although one would think that it would soothe it, it actually enraged it more and more.

Arden exchanged pleasantries with the guard at the Gate, walking at a quick pace to the shuttle deposit. If luck was on her side that day, the shuttle stood waiting, boarding passengers as she rounded the corner. Sitting down near the front and sliding to stare out the window, Arden struggled to collapse her raging emotions into reasonable arguments.

Father, Experiment B.I.H. has escaped, I request an immediate E.I.S. deployment, or maybe, Listen deadbeat your stupid experiment has gone haywire, murdering and terrorizing people. Get the E.I.S. out there now or you're going to be facing riots at the gate!

Arden took a deep breath. To others, she must appear rational, reasonable, the good candidate as heir. Tucking a slip of hair behind her ear, Arden left the shuttle, walking into the main lobby of Bluecorp. She pinged the elevator, boarding it when it arrived, and pressed the button to the lab. Pleasant elevator music played softly in the background, souring Arden's mood further. When the doors opened, Arden felt most of her rationality disappear under a wash of anger. The lab would need no major repairs, but the medical bills the insurance would be howling about where impending like a dangerous storm. Gurneys and stretchers blocked the majority of the hallway, forcing Arden to squeeze against the wall to get through. Gossiping scientists conversations were cut off as they spotted the heiress storming down the hall.

Rounding the corner like a madman, Arden shoved her head into the doorway of Experiment #957's room. The capsule chamber was broken, the door snapped off the hinges, and glass was fragmenting the floor in small groups, scattered here and there. Yes, Arden had enough of this to go to the meeting room now. With that decision, she squeezed herself past the stretchers of blighted and moaning men and women alike, slamming her finger against the pinging button.

Arden emerged on one of the top floors, stepping onto the vast contrast of wine spilled carpet instead of cold white tile. Strolling down the hall, numerous people tried to intercept her kill line, not wanting yet another argument between the Bluevern family members. Angrily almost kicking the door open when the butlers did not open it in time for her liking, Arden stomped through the doorway, making eye contact with the man at the end of the table. His slate eyes met hers coolly and defiantly, unwilling to budge on the subject. Oh, she was going to raise hell.

"Deadbeat! Abuser! Monster, disgusting life form, shredding of innocence, mutant creator, health violating, worthless scoundrel of a diseased dog!"

Every word was a scream, Arden spitting the words out, completely forgetting her well-prepared argument. Stopping right before his chair, shouting hostile words until her throat went hoarse and tapered off into coughs.

"Are you done with your temper tantrum?"

Arden gave him an evil eye from where her mouth was buried in her arm, coughing from her dry throat.

"Experiment #957 has a tracker placed on her, we track all of our experiments simply for this scenario right here. The injured will be fine, casualties are irrelevant, we have a waiting list of people we can hire", her father continued on.

Turning to look her in the eyes, brown orbs meeting silver slate ones, he spoke gravely with the first hint of anger in his voice, "You will no longer be leaving the Gate until we finish our meeting with the Titus family".

Arden scowled, recoiling from him. She couldn't defy such a direct order without getting some physical assault and as much as she believed she was headstrong, her father scared her. Ignoring him and turning to leave, Arden stormed through the doorway, intent on being part of the squadron to retrieve Experiment B.I.H.

Ray let out a long sigh. He did not wish to hurt the poor thing, but he had no other option. If he hadn't put it to sleep, it would have killed him and destroyed the whole city. Ray was not willing to die just yet.

He walked over to the sleeping beauty and picked it up. In his arms he carried it, back to his place of residence. A very humble and semi-collapsed room.

Ray lived in an abandoned liquor store. Of course, he was not a heavy drinker, but he had any drink he could ever ask for at his disposal and usually had a few drinks when he needed to clear his head.

The door to the liquor store chimed open, announcing Ray's entry. He switched the lights on and put the humanoid girl down on a red leather couch. "I hope you feel comfy in my bed.". As tempted as Ray was to tie the girl's arms and legs, he could not. It was pointless anyway. She would deform into the liquid state any time she wished. "Please don't kill me when you wake up, okay?". He took a loaf of bread and placed it on the girl's chest before dozing off into a deep sleep, his head resting against the sofa's thick leg.
@Teomessos

The creature was sleeping peacefully. Of course, not to it's own will. While put out of combat, it was merely a harmless girl, or at least, appearing as a girl. It was sleeping soundly, and it shivered a slight bit having grown so used to the warmth of the test tube it thought as it's entire world. It was unaware of where it was being brought, not even knowing where it was in the first place. Was he going to bring it back to the lab? Was it going to go through all those tests again? Was it going to be trapped and locked away from humanity even further?

Again, the tranquilizer wouldn't have been effective, as effective, as it had been used to those types of things at this point in time. It didn't hear the man speak as he placed it on the couch. It use the lab coat; it's only form of clothing, as a blanket from it's limited human instincts, breathing softly. It looked peaceful for once, but in it's mind, it certainly was not. Also, it was true. If he were to restrain her with ropes, chains, anything, it would simply deform itself and break free. The only reason it could not break out in the past was because it was trapped in a chamber of water, and it would be taken out and thrown back in before being able to do anything efficient.

There were no promises that it wouldn't attempt to kill anyone in the building if anything, as it was still enraged. Sleeping, however, would calm it down once it woke up, being unfamiliar as to what it was doing, and needing time to recollect all recent events. However, as it slept, it kept tossing and turning, like a child having a bad dream. "Mommy... Daddy..." It mumbled. It never actually had a mother or a father, as it was created from blight and water. However, that 3% human DNA was in fact that of a past subject, and surprisingly used the girl's DNA to create a creature with an identical structure. However, it had the faint mind set of a human, which is why it had not lost complete humanity.

Unbeknownst to the both of them, something was silently beeping. Deep in it's foot, was a tracker embedded into the water particle, which allowed Bluecorp to track it down as long as that part of it's leg was not cut off for whatever reason. It was so tiny, that it would have been barely able to be detected, no matter how advanced the technology would be.

Arden chewed on the end of a pen, fully outfitted in her black long sleeves, bulletproof vest, and pants tucked into similarly black boots. Of course, underneath all of that was the Adv.4 prototype as a precaution, but blight of the level #957 would undoubtedly overpower the second skin. Her normally twintail hair was pulled back into one ponytail, a few blond hairs hanging over her forehead. Staring down at the virtual map of the outside world beyond the gate, she released the pen from her teeth, circling a spot just northeast of where Bluecorp had tracked #957.

"Not here. Sweep everywhere else, except for here", Arden instructed.

The sergeant beside her opened his mouth to protest before leaving the subject in the air, knowing better. It was a small hunch, but Arden was fairly certain that the teenage boy from earlier that day would be there. Hopefully once they detained the subject, she would have a chance to slip away and find him once more. She didn't know why, but she wanted to see those electric eyes once more, the surprised and shocked look that had decorated his face before duty called her away. Arden wanted to know more about him. Where did his blight come from? Did he use to live within the gate? How about family? Were there any siblings or parents? Frowning to herself and switching the map over to street view, Arden chided herself for being hypocritical. If she was in his position what would she owe someone like herself to give out answers like that? At the moment, Arden wasn't even sure if she could answer those questions without re-routing the conversation or slipping in a few lies here or there. Staring with a wistful gaze at the building they had tracked #957 to, Arden wished they had met in another universe. Another time, another place, different bodies, something, anything that would change their circumstances. At the moment the only thing Arden could do was stare in awe through a protective barrier.

"Ma'am we leave in five minutes".

"Coming", Arden answered absentmindedly.

Tucking the stun gun on the table into her holster, the heiress strode from the room, clicking on the beacon device. From the small screen of what resembled a pager, multiple blue dots appeared on the virtual map of the gate, all cleared in the database for being blight negative. Slipping the small device in her pocket, Arden boarded the elevator with multiple other members, half listening to their entrance plan. She wondered if #957 was hurt. Maybe that was why it had holed itself up in such a building? Arden had expected it to be on a rampage but from how still it was being, it was probably safe to assume it had fallen asleep.

"-Ma'am? Miss Bluevern?"

Arden started, turning to look the concerned sergeant in the face.

"I'm sorry, what was that?"

"Please remember if the subject gets hostile we have the green light from your father to terminate it".

Arden's mood plummeted, anger forming itself into a sweat on her brow. The sergeant's face clouded with surprise and concern at her fierce reaction.

"You will shoot on my command. Until then, leave the detaining squad under my oversight".

Reluctantly, the sergeant agreed. Arden turned away from him, done with the entire situation itself. How could they murder a poor experiment subject who was enraged with her abusive treatment? If given the chance, Arden wanted to have a discussion with #957. Hopefully, and on the best terms, the subject would understand Arden's position and return to Bluecorp with her under Arden's protection. But that was almost a dream, Arden knew it was most likely to fly into a rage. Her dark mood took a sour edge when she thought of the likely case of terminating the poor humanoid. How on earth did she plan to sleep tonight with blood splattered across her mind? Arden didn't know. And as much as she wished to turn a blind eye to it all, she stepped out of the elevator, filing out of the lobby and into the streets, searching for the unlucky experiment.

The sky was pitch dark, it engulfed the street everything was painted Black.
Kleo's eyes had yet to adjust, she stumbled after Kai in a fit of confusion and cursed loudly when she tripped. She wondered what time it was, the repetitive tapping of Kai's staff was all Kleo could hear, but she was grateful as she did not have to feel her way through the darkness. Kleo looked behind her shoulder for the follower, but there was no one. She gripped the staff tighter. Kleo remembered that she had to introduce herself.

"My name's Kleo by the way."

An explosion sounded from behind them, Kleo heard a voice warning them about a dangerous being that was on the loose. Kleo did not know what the building was called or what it held but she had always stayed clear from it, it gave her the creeps.Once, she dared to go closer, to look through the window. She had seen people with white coats and felt an immediate hatred towards them. She could not explain why. But she was glad that the building was gone. Traces of the smoke rose into the air, making the sky darker. Kleo walked faster, away from the scene and away from her home.

That night, Ray was dreaming. He dreamt about his past and about his days in Bluecorp, which often happened on a daily basis. However, this time, it was different. He saw himself being tortured in a dark room by a faceless man. The mysterious man gouged Ray's eyes out. Ray's screams of agony wouldn't come out no matter how hard he tried. His arms and legs were tied by ropes that hung from the ceiling. A whisper echoed in his eardrum. "You know too much." Ray could smell his burning flesh after that, his screams more silent than before.

A loud scream escaped his lungs, waking him up. He panted and shivered. The curtains of the front window were swaying right and left due to the chilling wind that entered the room. He looked at the girl. Still sleeping? He pulled himself up to his feet and walked to the window, closing it. He rubbed his arms and cheeks, so as to warm himself up. He grabbed a bottle of wine from the rack and drank straight from it, sending a warm wave of heat throughout his body.

He sat on the leg of the couch and watched the girl as she slept. She should wake up any minute now. He checked his watch 1:03 AM. It was quiet, too quiet, and Ray couldn't help the sense of unease sliding through him.

The creature had woken up a couple minutes ago, upon hearing the scream of the male. Although the tranquilizer was effective, it didn't stop it from retaining it's senses. "You... Okay?" It asked, softly. It appeared as though sleeping had reset it's entire mood and rage, ironic since it despised sleep. It didn't want to kill yet, because it had forgotten about it. Although it had remembered that it had escaped, it had no recollection about it's rampage before being forced to sleep.

It had been pretending to sleep for a while, both eyes closed and then one eye opening up. It's bangs did not obstruct the veiw, as it's face was clearly seen at this point, appearing as an innocent, purist female despite the severe blight. It's arm, however, had not completely generated, and so it began slowly generating now. One could see how bad the blight was on just the arm; pitch black with purple, green, and somewhat blue patches, the bruise spreading from it's neck down to the palm of it's hand and the top of it's hand, a small creak shape it made as it slowly creapt up it's middle finger. The regeneration was somewhat slow, however, from the shoulder, normal skin would form over the blighting, slowly creeping over and finally covering it up, and sinking into it's arm.

It was as though the blight were never there in the first place.

It began shaking, not from the cold, but from an unsuspected emotion it knew far too well. Fear. They were going to come look for it, they were going to throw it back in it's chamber. They were going to torture it more for escaping. The thought of that frightened it to the point a human could be driven insane. However, it was just shaking, it's eyes closed, body curled up, like a toddler hiding in their bed out of fear of being yelled at by a parent.

Name: Mya
Sex: Female
Age: 15
Occupation: Maid to a purist family
Description:
anime-girl.jpg

Blight: pure
Social stance: silent sympathizer

After finally getting done with cleaning duties Mya walked home from her work. She didn't live in the best place but it's what a 15 year old maid could make do with. Mya opened the door to her house remembering the rumor spreading about at work.

----

"Hey did you hear that experiment thing is loose."

Well this could be interesting.

"Yea I heard it's roaming about the city killing people."

Of course you guys would be worried.

"Hey Mya what do you think about it?"

"Oh um...I'm sure someone will catch it before to much harm is done."

------

Entering the front room She throws her things down and goes into her room. Mya turns on the light to the windowless room to reveal a bounty list.
"Hmm...I'm interested on this case. A being with this server of blight; if I could get a sample I may be able to see what blight is in more detail."
She went over to her home built radio.
"Come on they should be calling for a search squad. Don't they want to look for it. Fine they don't want to broadcast it then I'll just go to Bluecorp in person." She decided, Mya packed up her usual gear and a little extra just for safety. She made up her mind that she would go through with this, tonight.

After walking for a few minutes around the dark streets around her, Mya finally made it to the entrance of Bluecorp. Mya stood there staring at the entrance in front of me. Ya know I got here and I don't even have a plan.

Her voice shook him awake completely. "You... okay?" Is she concerned for my well-being? He wondered. He grabbed a warm blanket from the shelf next to him and covered her from shoulder to toe. "There, this should stop you from shivering for the time being." He couldn't help but notice how more human she looked when the bang was not hiding her face. Ray smiled. He had decided to acknowledge her and treat her as a human. Not as a blight, not as a purist... as a human being.

He watched as the massive spots on her skin disappeared into nothingness when her fast regeneration factor took over. He was amazed. She could be, after all, the cure he had envisioned and worked on. He took the loaf of bread he had placed on her chest and split it in half, taking a bite from his half and giving the other to her. "Eat." He was intrigued as to whether she could eat or not, and at the same time, he wished to imprint in her head, that he was like a father figure to her now... a parent.
@Teomessos

The reason it had asked was because it had heard him scream; and not from death. It still seemed confused, and as long as it wasn't agitated, it wouldn't be dangerous in the slightest. It didn't understand when he appeared amazed as it's arm regenorated, as it was purely for the sake of hiding a severe blight in the world of purisits. It was surprised as to when the male wrapped the blanket around it, looking down at the soft fabric and feeling it a little, as though curious. It then began poking it, like how a cat pawed at any dangling object.

Of course, when he split the bread in half, and said 'eat' it actually did understand, mainly due to the scientists making it eat before it were about to starve. It took little bites out of the bread swallowing one by one and soon finishing the piece of bread. However it soon coughed a bit, due to being absent of water for a while, and bread by itself was quite dry.

Arden cracked her neck, rolling her shoulder along with it. It had fallen long past dark and she was forced to be cramped nearly underneath a dumpster in the side alley beside the worn down building. Oh sure, this was exactly what she wanted to be doing while the other squads waited for the all-clear that there were no others beside the target.

"Miss Bluevern, after we detain one extra personnel, you are a green light".

Arden felt discomfort rake its nails down her back. Unable to resist, she pressed the button down on the pager, replying to the person on the other end.

"I want no casualties. Take him in for questioning. We don't know if others have seen #957".

A moment passed before the signaling static brought forth the man's fate.

"Copy that, over"

Arden felt a heavy weight lift from her shoulders. Breathing out a small sigh, she waited for the tell-tale sound of a gas chamber exploding, her signal to send in her squad.

I hope this goes over well. Any casualties will be a reflection on my authority.

A small resounding ping echoed down the alleyway. Arden yanked out her pager, pressing down the small button on the side.

"Retrieval we are a go".

Unanimous "Roger that" replies filtered through as Arden stood from her position, taking long strides to the door. Third floor up was where they needed to be. Having her partner kick in the door, Arden headed in scanning the staircases and rooms with broken doors for any other stray people hiding. By the time she walked up to the third floor staircase, Arden paused, answering at her partner's alarmed look.

"Go ahead, I have to check something else out".

After a small hesitation, her partner left and Arden skittered down the stairs, almost giddy at the prospect of running off on her own, but most importantly, the chance to see that boy again.

Now that I think about it, I don't even know his name..

Finally entering the building, Mya sighed to herself. Finally, do these people even know how to do their job? I mean honestly how long does it take to find someone in this building, it's small. If only I could be left to do as I pleased, I would've been in and out without anyone noticing.

She had to be cautious about her actions, if she did anything out of the ordinary she would be caught for sure; they were already suspicious of here when she walked in and said she was a doctor that was suppose to check on the experiment when it was found. It took her too long to convince them though.

Since she was in the retrieval squad she wasn't really doing anything just yet. Following the rest of her squad to the third floor, Mya saw a women going down the stairs in a hurry. Isn't she the leader of the retrieval squad? She looks like the heir to Blurcorp though? Oh well, it doesn't matter either way, my prize is in front of me.

Mya saw the experiment in front of her. It looked so peaceful just sitting there. Aww she's so cute.

She grabbed the bag she brought with her, and entered the room slowly. She wanted to make sure she didn't provoke the sweet thing in front of her knowing what could happen, Mya signaled everyone to stay back; she put her bag of supplies down gently.

"Excuse me, are you hurt? I'm here to help in whatever way I can, is that alright with you?"

Honestly, all it heard was gibberish. Considering that it barely spoke english, it also barely understood it as well. People would have to treat it like a toddler if they wanted it to understand them without provoking it. The experiment backed up whilst on the couch, scanning the amount of people at the front. This intimidated it, and it took it as a sign of hostility. Of course, they would get hostile if it wouldn't obey, which would most likely happen.

"...." It stayed silent, refusing to answer to anyone as it was still caught back by the number of people. Had it done something wrong? Of course it had, but it didn't seem to acknowledge it. It would have been ready to get hostile if they were to get hostile first, as it usually didn't attack unless it were to go insane at one point. At this moment, it was somewhat unlikely as it had just woken up from a 'nap'.

It eyed the female who walked in, and it wasn't sure whether to trust the woman or not, as it had a few 'trust issues' in the past. It kept staring at her, not giving her a yes, and not giving her a no. It was also wary of the male who brought it to the building in the first place as well, as it's guard wasn't down even in it's sleep. "... You.. Take me back.. Right?" It asked, in a very broken english. What it meant to ask was "You're going to take me back, aren't you?". It didn't fancy that idea, and was ready to attack.

Mya watched as the girl looked at her. She realized that the girl in front of her could attack at any moment, Mya stayed silent. It seems it's English isn't the best. I should try small words.

She made sure that everyone knew to stay back and be calm as she smiled.

"No. I won't take you back. Okay."

At this point Mya knew she wouldn't get what she wanted, especially if she was with this many people. She turned around picked up her things and started leaving the room.

"Your company's experiment is fine. One of you contact your leader, don't make any sudden movement though unless you want to die, oh and tell your leader it wouldn't be wise to use force on her if they want her, treat her as a human not an experiment,"

Almost out she turned around to see the girl, Mya smiled and waved.

"Bye bye. See ya later."

Mya walked down the stairs in deep thought. Hopefully those guys listen, if they don't then it's not my fault. Though I wonder what would happen if we just let her live in the world like everybody else? Oh too many questions not enough answers.

The explosion of the smoke bomb had instantly placed Ray on his guard. He knew they were coming for her. Ray was not willing to lose what he was trying to save. He was not willing to give up what... no, who, could be mankind's last hope. The mysterious girl who had just entered did not worry Ray. What worried him was what would happen if the soldiers had tried to retrieve the humanoid. Not only would they die, but the whole city as well.

Ray looked at the group, trying to find their leader. Bluecorp soldiers never leave unaccompanied. The leader was not there. He had to do something. He stood between them and the girl with the bang, spreading his arms. "I don't suppose I can convince you to go back to your Blueshit company, right?" His lip curled into a grin before he stealthily pressed some sort of button on his jacket. A hidden door in the floor beneath them suddenly opened, and Ray quickly held the humanoid girl in his arms. "See ya, suckers!" He laughed before jumping into the hole with the girl, closing the pit behind them.

Aleron smiles at her and shakes her hand. "The building isn't too run down. It has heat and running water at least. I can put you in an apartment away from those junkies." He looks out the door and around. "Those dickheads are gone. Want to go see your place?"

@Arsonwolf

After continuing to mull it all over in her mind, she finally sighed and nodded, "Please...that would be great." Daria answered, now just wanting to get off the streets and somewhere that was relatively safe, "Thank you, by the way...for giving me somewhere to stay."
